| | |  Defense Against the Dark Arts One
Despite the chilly Fall air, the arena windows were wide open, letting the morning sunlight pour into the room and light up the stone floors while the earthy aroma of the great outdoors twirled under noses. Flickers of dust particles floated through the shafts of light with a glow; enchanting almost. Purple mats and small desks that looked more like stools were laid evenly in three rows in the middle of the arena. Professor Romanos herself was sitting on her own mat at the front of the class, lotus style, giving each student a warm smile as they passed by.

Jasmine felt like she would soon be a Reductor expert because she had repeated the spell so many times. Practice made perfect, right? As she continued to call out, "Reducto", she noticed flickering around the shield. And then......BOOM. Sparks were flying everywhere and they actually looked pretty. The next thing she knew candy was falling. Every kind of candy imagineable was raining down on them.
Jasmine reached down and picked up several pieces of candy. The Professor indicated that class was ending so Jasmmine walked over toward her. "Thanks Professor. I really enjoyed the lesson. See you next time.".
Just then Cris appeared bringing more candy to share with Jasmine. [B]"Thank you", she said, never one to turn down sweets. When Cris invited her to lunch in the Great Hall, Jasmine beamed. "I would love to join you for lunch, she said. As they walked toward the door, Jasmine couldn't help but smile.

After everyone cast the spell including Kace, he said, "REDUCTO!!" and then did the flick left and right, he heard the big....
KABOOM!!!!!!
Then he saw all the candy on the floor. He smiled with glee and ran to get some. I mean the whole point of the piñata is to get the most candy possible right? He got some and then he heard the Professor end the lesson. He thought the lesson was pretty awesome. He felt this was entertaining and didn't want it to end. He got a lot of candy gathered up in his shirt. It was bulging and then he unloaded it into his bag once he got to his desk. After he packed up and there was a little bulge of candy, he said to the lovely Professor, "Thanks for the lesson! Can we do more like this again!?" he asked with excitement in his eyes.

They had done it, they had actually managed to break the zombie piñata. AJ might not have been that much help, but she would still be getting the goodies inside and that totally worked for her. She watched in amazement as tons of candy fell.
"Awesome!" The first year hurried over and got her fair share of candy, making sure to stock up on chocolate frogs. She thought about the wild story that Adi had told her about them and laughed to herself.
Once she had gotten enough she gathered her belongings and bade goodbye to the professor. "Thanks for the lesson and candy professor. Maybe next time we can practice on a real zombie." That's be waaay cool.

"Awesome lesson, Professor!'' he said as he picked up his bag. "Thanks for the candy.'' The Puffer gave Romanos a smile and headed out of the room, unwrapping a Frog as he went.

AHHHH! SO. MUCH. CANDY. Zander's mouth started watering just by looking at all of it. He quickly made a run for it and grabbed a good handful of bertie botts and chocolate frogs. He'd have to save these. Who knows when they'd get a chance for a Hogsmeade trip!? So yes. He would have to savour these treats. Anyways, noticing the rest of the class packing up, Zander followed the crowd. As he walked towards the door he picked up one more piece of candy... hehe.... "Bye professor! Thanks for the sweet treats!" Maybe the undead weren't that bad after all. Especially if they were all filled with candy hehe.

The shield was broken! Good job, people. Better job, Beverly. Shrugging off the sparkly stuff from her shoulders and hair, the Slytherin did NOT run into the pile of students gathering around the sweets. She didn't want to risk getting trampled. She summoned some to her. Granted, she was still practicing how to Accio stuff, but she did it well enough to grab a few pieces of sweets.
One for her, one for her best friend. Two for her, two for her best friend. Three for her, three for her best friend. And--oh crud! She had a brother in the school, too. She grabbed a few more pieces, then hurried on over to her bag and stuffed them inside.
"Thanks for the lesson, professor," she called. Time to go and find her two most favorite people in the castle.

CANDY. Marigold wasn't expecting anything different to be in the piñata, but at the same time, she hadn't expected Airey to dance in with a zombie arm, either. Well, she had a sense of accomplishment at least. She beamed as she darted forward to grab one chocolate frog.

Yaaaaaay they did it! Sophie was actually really, really excited by this class - maybe it was the power of the reductor curse, maybe it was all the colorful magic sparkles that rained over them, or maybe it was the candy, but Sophie was BEAMING as Romanos dismissed class. Totally the most purely enjoyable Defense Against the Dark Arts class she'd had yet.
There were plenty of sweets on the ground to go around, so Sophie was totally cool with grabbing one chocolate frog for herself, then two more, one for Mo and Tobes. She figured they would be too modest to take two things for themselves, so she'd take an extra for them 'cause they deserved it. She loved them and would give them the extras when they got into the corridor. Hehe.
For now, she tucked them away into her bag and slung it over her shoulder. "Thanks for the memories, professor," she offered with a grin, slipping her wand into its holster and giving Mo and Tobes a look before heading into the hallway to wait for them so she could give them her extra goodies. Totally nice of her.

They did it. They managed to destroy the second barrier! Yaaaaay! And SPARKLES! PRETTY SPARKLES EVERYWHERE...!!! Then much to her annoyance candies and sweets were fell around them. She HATED candies. Why it had to be candies? Hmmmpph.
The first year didn't take any of those candies. No, sir. Better safe than sorry. After finished gathering her stuffs, Candice walked towards the Professor was "Thanks for the lesson, Professor." But no candies next time, yeah? Some of them were allergic. With some she mean her.

Somehow, the second shield’s explosion had been both more and less spectacular than the first, at least in Lily’s opinion. Maybe it was because she’d come to expect the sparkles, although that moment it had disappeared before finally shattering had definitely been interesting. That had warranted the second color of sparkles, anyhow, but either way, she’d found she almost liked the blue better. It had fit with the blue light of the Reductor curse that had been bombarding it. The other thing she hadn’t expected, however, was that it had been so easy to destroy the piñata inside the shields. She’d barely lifted her wand for another curse when it had just exploded and candy had come raining down. She’d lowered her wand again, anyhow, watching as everyone else had started scrambling for the fallen sweets, slipping it back into its holster. First things first, and she wasn’t particularly worried about there not being any left over. It seemed like Professor Romanos had cleaned out Honeydukes, practically.
Besides, she’d had the brief thought that if only actual zombies were as easy to destroy, let alone if only they had candy inside them. The frozen zombie arm was evidence of that. Eventually, though, as people had started to disperse, she’d bent over to investigate what was left. Miraculously, there was still some good candy left, and she’d snagged a few stray chocolate frogs as well as a couple packs of sugar quills. Those were good for when she was studying, and that was going to be often this term. Considering there were NEWTs at the end of term and all. Returning to her things, she swung the strap of her bag over her shoulder and slid the candy inside, double-checking that she had everything before turning to the professor. “I hope you have a wonderful rest of the day too, Professor Romanos,” she said with a smile, “And thanks for the candy.” She still thought it was better than the alternative.

Candy! Even though Tora was fourteen and much to old to scrabble around on the ground, she made an exception this once. She searched about for her favorites, the Muggle candy Smarties and nabbed as many of those as she could find. There weren't many, it was only a Muggle candy after all. Chocolate frogs came next, she could save a few in her room for later, and finally she picked up a bunch of pumpkin fizzes. All in all? It turned out to be a really great class.
"Thank you!" Tora gave a huge smile at Romanos as she went over to her mat by the window and put away her quill and ink from before (plus the new stock of candy). She waved so long to the rest of the place and jovially went off to her next class.

Toby had one heck of a sweet tooth. He was tempted to grab as much of the sweets as he could carry, but didn't do so for two reasons. 1. It was for EVERYONE and so it made sense not to take too much and 2. Keeping fit for Quidditch meant cutting down on sweets when he could. But this was a special occasion, so he could totally take one.
The Hufflepuff spotted a pack of fizzing whizbees and quickly scooped it up. He smiled to himself and then up at Professor Romanos, giving her a BIG THUMBS UP too. But that was the end of the lesson, and it was time to move on. Tobias caught Soph's eye as she made her way out of the classroom, and he smiled even wider.
"Thanks Professor Romanos!" Toby said hurriedly to the DADA expert, as he grabbed his school bag and all of his things and left the room in pursuit of a Soph.

Smiling with his candy in his hands he made his way over to his things so he could put his candy in his bag and make his way to his dorm so he could hide it from Louis. now that his candy was all secure he slung his bag over his shoulder and said his goodbyes "good bye Professor, excellent lesson." it was good other than getting sick, he was defiantly going to be going to lay down. a nap sounded like a great idea.
