Kyroh was standing up super SUPER straight as he entered the classroom. Because posture was an important thing right? It was kind of like going to class all clean shirt tucked in and everything. ALL of this was for you Bellaire. Walking into the class the first year waved. "Hello, Professor, ma'am." His eyes darted from the food, to the board, then to the snow globes. Why...why more snow? Sighing Kyroh slipped into the first seat that he saw. |
It was good to know that despite the snow the students hadn't forgotten the way she worked. It didn't take long before the first students began trickling into the class, some looking more weary than others. SPOILER!!: Leah Professor Bellaire watched the girl approach her desk. If she had something to say, surely it could wait until the lesson began. "Good morning Miss Abbott." Ah she'd noticed the sign on the board. The Professor gave a short, polite nod as the girl went to take her seat in a hurry. SPOILER!!: Marigold Sophia noted the well groomed hair on the next student. It was good to see Students taking an interest in the way they presented themselves and the Professor gave a nod of approval as she greeted her. "Good Day Miss McAlistor. The groomed look suits you. Keep it up and encourage your friends to do the same." They could all use a bit of grooming when it got down to it. SPOILER!!: Jonas The first student to take the initiative with the food. "Good Morning Mister Emery." She would have thought it would have been a Gryffindor, or a Hufflepuff. "It's poor manners to begin a meal without others." She stated as an after thought. He could encourage the others to get their food or simply wait for her to give the official command. This lesson wouldn't be as strict in that sense as the others. SPOILER!!: Zander For the love of Circe. Sophia fought hard to not roll her eyes at this Gryffindor that was clearly trying to be dramatic. A storm interrupts your invent and suddenly the students expect an ice age apocalypse. "Good Day Mister Adair. Glad to see you keeping warm under all those layers." And looking quite ridiculous while he was at it but to each their own and she moved on to the next student. SPOILER!!: Jasmine Not the sharpest eagle in the nest this one. The Professor could see the confusion as the girl entered the room but chalked it up to her having not seen the notice when it was giving. "Good morning Miss Guidry. Try not to look so anxious. This lesson is more a treat than a trick." Ravenclaws. Forever overthinking the simplest things. A hard habit to kick probably. SPOILER!!: Lucy What was this? The Professor's eyes narrowed some at this one. "Miss Petersfield, it will do you well to remember the greeting for the Professor next time." Sophia stood a bit taller. "I am no 'everyone' nor do I wish to be. Are we clear?" She would like to hope so. The Cup was in anyone's hand, the Professor would hate to tip it because of a First Year's ignorance. SPOILER!!: Angel Miss Petersfield could learn a thing or two from this one here and the Professor gave her an approving nod before glancing back at the other lion. "Good morning Miss Valentine." SPOILER!!: Tobias Yet another one taken aback by the classroom's arrangement. You would think they would be happy to return to some degree of normalcy but she supposed not. "Good morning Mister Tempus." She eyed the window. "Do feel free to switch desks if the conditions over there take a turn for the worse." No one would be freezing to death on her watch. SPOILER!!: Ian "Good morning Mister Tinker." Yes, it was a nice snow globe, wasn't it? SPOILER!!: Aubrey The second of the triplets had arrived. She thought it odd the third never made it to her class but the girl's education was in the hands of her Head of House. There was only so much the Professors could be expected to do. "Good day Miss Valentine." A polite nod was given in return for her beaming. What the students had to be happy about these days was beyond her. SPOILER!!: Cassia The Head Girl. Sophia had taught her since her first year and now she was on her way out. It was always good to see how they matured over the years and she had all confidence that this one would do just fine outside the castle when that time came. "Good Day Miss Somerlad." Merlin, they grew quickly. SPOILER!!: Theo Speaking of students that grew up too quickly, were the Professor a different person she might have shed a tear for Kinsley. Always such a promising student. If there was anyone she would miss having in her lessons it would be him. "Thank you Mister Kinsley, how very thoughtful of you." The first and only smile of the morning was given to the Slytherin. All her hopes were in this one. It didn't seem right he was leaving. SPOILER!!: Ethan "Good morning Mister Mordaunt." Professor Bellaire noted the look the boy cast at the food as well but again there was no move toward it. Would there only be one student with the thought to take the food? Perhaps she should have been impressed. They were acting well-bred at the moment, even if the food was there for the taking. She would make an announcement when the class started. SPOILER!!: Alexa "Good morning Miss Cambridge." Sophia replied, giving the Prefect a polite nod. SPOILER!!: Austin And here another student ogling the food. Evidently the announcement would have to be made. They were only torturing themselves and she had to watch. "Good morning Mister Moore." SPOILER!!: Adi "Good morning Mister Rehman." What was it with hufflepuffs and their smiles? They were always so full of optimism and the last she checked, they were all still locked inside a castle. To each their own. SPOILER!!: Simon "Good morning Mister Holden." Prompt this one was. He wasted no time in finding a seat. No unnecessary gaping at the board as if they words were in gibberish or latin. He got a nod of approval for this. SPOILER!!: Agatha Correction, there was a second smile to be seen on Bellaire's face and it was won by the third year. "Good morning Miss Hapgood." This one, she liked. "Thank you. It is important to look good even in the darkest of times." Life could be so unpredictable. You never wanted to be caught unawares. SPOILER!!: Josette Sophia raised an eyebrow at the Ravenclaw fumbling over her words. You would think the woman had just sprouted horns and she gave a light shake of her head. Young students were something else. "Good morning Edayson. Don't be so anxious, this will be a light lesson." So long as the snow didn't impose on them again. SPOILER!!: Nigel Professor Bellaire never quite knew what to make of this one but here he was, about ready to graduate with the others. Fancy that happening. "Good Day Mister Barrington." SPOILER!!: Grayson "Good morning Mister Whitlock, nice to see you looking sharp." And ogling the food along with the rest of his house. She would need to have something done. SPOILER!!: Kyroh Professor Bellaire regarded the First Year as he entered. He had the right, the vision she saw for the rest of the class and he received a firm nod of approval with his greeting. "Good Day Mister Scabior. You should be an inspiration for all your friends." Were the others taking notes? Professor Bellaire glanced once more to the watch on her wrist then with a flick of her wand, slammed the door shut. The lesson had officially began. "Welcome everyone. As most of you should know this class will be theoretical. I would like you all to re-holster your wands if you have them out then grab some food before we begin." Nothing too hard to follow. |
Ian's head popped up when the professor greeted the class after the door slammed. It was always such a challenge. Wasn't there a better way to close the door? He shrugged and when she mentioned food, it didn't take long for the Huffie to head over to the table. As he did, he made sure to voice his appreciation. Thank you Professor Bellaire. He took a cup of warm cider and a saucer to which he'd added some biscuits and headed to his desk for the class to resume. |
Adi grinned at Ian's greeting. His fellow Hufflepuff was a tad weird but weird was good. Set you apart from the others. Adi didn't get to reply to his friend because Professor Bellaire had begun addressing the class. Theoretical? Cool! Practical was preferred but in his eyes, the food and drinks made up for that. He followed Ian, grabbed a cup of hot chocolate and some cookies. His addictions for the term. Hehe. Oh yes, must remember to thank the Transfiguration lady. "Thanks, Professor,'' Adi echoed Ian. |
Agatha felt proud of herself for receiving a smile from professor Bellaire. Did everyone see that? Did they???? Because they should have. See, professor Bellaire liked Agatha. She was like, her favourite, she was sure of it. Hah. Sitting perfectly straight on the chair - you know, like the proper ballerina she was - Agatha listened as the woman started speaking. She couldn't help but love the idea that this would be a theoretical lesson and not a practical one. She had already made a fool of herself plenty of times that term, so no need to say this Slytherin was happy now. They were now allowed to grab some food before they begin the lesson. Agatha wasn't particularly hungry, but she didn't want to seem impolite, especially towards professor Bellaire, so she got up - politely, just like a lady - and made her way to the snacks table. She did everything like a lady, but it was all fast enough so she'd be one of the first ones there. Because honestly, her classmates were CRAZY when it came to food and she didn't want to deal with them at the table. She was soon back to her seat with some hot chocolate and biscuits. OH, there were those Hufflepuffs being all nice and polite saying thanks. Well, SHE was polite TOO. "Thank you, professor." She said from her seat. Hm!! |
Food and no wands. This was new, yeah? Maddie didn't MIND, of course, but she WAS curious about what had brought on this particular change in class policy. Maybe the cold was wearing down Bellaire's defenses. Being trapped was sort of depressing. Even MADDIE was starting to miss home and THAT was saying something. The first year smiled a little at Professor Bellaire and then made her way to the table of food, grabbing herself a warm beverage and a cookie. "This looks good, Professor. Thanks." For the food and such. It was sort of the worst that the party in the Irie Room had been snowed out..or in. Stormed on? Whatever the right description was, it STUNK that the party had been ruined. Settling into a seat beside where Kyroh had settled down, the twelve year old took a small bite of her cookie and eyed her snow globe. Did Bellaire KNOW that she could identify with the plants in the tiny globe? THEY were trapped and she was TOO. |

And result! Food before actually starting the lesson. Theo's wand was away anyway and he got up confidently to fetch some grub. He grabbed a drink and a few snacks. Not too many since he had a pretty big breakfast. Once he was sat back down, Theodore tucked right in before thanking Bellaire like everyone else was doing. Oh, snap. "Thanks, miss." He said with a mouth full. Gah. Not cute. |
Apparently, she ignored Jonas. He shtugged and saw that he got an apple and a passy and a drink. He payed attention now to the professor's next instructions. |
Oh so the food was for NOW? What was all this talk about a theory class? No the better question was, did Alexa care? Not particular. The term and all this snow had worn her down. She could do without spending the next hour stretching her concentration enough to simply produce more snow. No thanks, she'd pass on that one so the Gryffindor followed the others to get some food as well. This was all real good, as you'd expect from house elves. No way would she think the Professor helped with preparations, pffft no. Her wand was usually holstered unless there was reason for it not to be so she simply focused on piling her plate high, grabbing a drink then flopping back into her seat. Ready for the notes ma'am. Yup. |
Inspiration? Heh. Kyroh BEAMED. It was a good thing that he had Maddie change his hair back to not purple, or maybe Bellaire would have thought something completely different. Speaking of, Kyroh gave a small wave, and mouthed 'hi Boddie' to the other future ruler of the world that had sat beside him before getting up again. He wasn't that hungry but the first year grabbed a BROWNIE and a large cup of hot chocolate and sat back down again. ....Was he allowed to spill his hot chocolate over the snow globe? Because winter was definitely no longer his favourite season. |
The entire time Sophie had been in class today, she'd been eyeing the professor. She seemed...different somehow. Sophie couldn't put her finger on it, but she liked this version of the professor better. Anyway... Sophie re-holstered her wand then made her way to the food and drinks. WARM drinks, specifically. She got herself a few snacks then made her way back to her seat. "Thanks, Professor," she said, passing by the woman. |

Then Lucy followed the instructions of her professor and she took a cup of hot chocolate.. |
Food. Nice. Normally Penelope didn't care much for theory-only lessons, but she was okay with it for now, so no complaints here. Her wand was already holstered, so all she had to do was get up and get some food and a cup of hot chocolate, which she did, adding "Thanks, Professor," as well. Because it was nice to have warm food and drinks here. Then she returned to her seat again, making sure her plate and cup weren't in the way of her notes and stuff. |
Formalities done, now it was time to get to the food and daydream/listen to the lecture. You have to keep you expectations low and than you can actually impress people. It has worked out for Nigel so far in his short life. The soon to be graduating Prefect got up and walked to get a deserved drink. So deserved after that cold wind thing in the Irie Room. That room hated Nigel and yet he still loved it. The real question is what are they doing with the snow globes if they were to put away their wands? |
Oh hey Josie was here! "Hey Josie!" he said as she came over towards them. And then Josie sat down next to Ethan. :eyebrows: Simon shot his friend a smirk and before he could say anything else, Professor Bellaire had given them instructions. Right. After holstering his wand, he stood up, whispering, "Best of luck," to Ethan and then made his way over to the food. Mmmmm... It all looked really good. He picked up a cup of hot chocolate and some food. Ah, that all looked really good. His tummy grumbled a little. "Thanks Professor," he said giving her a grin as he headed back to his seat so that he could be ready for when class started. |
As instructed, Jasmine put her wand away. When the Professor had given them permission, she went over to the snack table and grabbed some cookies and tea. That would definitely hit the spot for this early lesson. Walking back to her seat, Jasmine made sure to say, "Thank you Professor Bellaire." Sitting down again, Jasmine took several sips of tea and nibbled on her cookies. Looking around at her classmates, she waited for the Professor to continue the lesson. |
Angel totally couldn't believe that they were allowed food in a lesson, though she wished that the Professor could do something about all the snow outside, after all she was the Transfiguration Professor and surely she could change it into water or something cool. Angel went and got some food and then she went and sat back down after thanking the Professor because this Professor was awesome, she wondered where her sister Abby was because she hadn't seen her for ages but well there was nothing she could do about that, so she just sat and waited to see what they were writing about today. |
It seemed like Ian was in a playful mood. "Yup, totally strange," she said teasing her hufflepuff friend. She was just about to ask him what he had been up to when Adi joined them. "Hey Adi." AJ was still on cloud nine about them being back on good terms. It wasn't long before the professor started to speak so their conversation was cut short. _____________________ FOOD! AJ hoped that the professors would continue to keep them supplied with food. Her old muggle school definitely didn't have lessons where food was always involved. The lion would have never thought that Bellaire would be down with it, but she wasn't complaining. "Thanks professor." AJ made her way over to see what they had to choose from. |
Grab some food? Well that wasn't hard to do at all! The Gryffindor didn't wait a beat before getting up to line up around the food table. Grabbing some nice tasty looking things and a warm cup of hot chocolate, the boy made his way back to his desk. Oh yeah, there was something else. "Thanks, Professor!" He did not want to be the unfortunate guy that forgot to thank Bellaire out of all people. That would be bad. Very bad. |
The students were on a roll today. Most remembered their polite greeting coming in and had themselves presentable enough and now they were remembering their manners. There was a round of you're welcomes that went around until they slowly stopped coming. Sophia waited for the last of them to retake their chair then walked around to the board and had the first few words appear. Quote:
She would like to think they all could but the Professor was not naive enough to think they all paid attention. "And uses, let's discuss uses. Practical uses outside of classwork in the castle." Note the word practical and eyes for a few of them in the room just in case. |
She would not let the food distract her. That was the type of thing that would get food banned from this class forevermore. Waiting until her mouth was completely empty, she raised her hand. "Could you use it if you forgot your umbrella and it's raining?" AJ didn't mind getting wet, but she knew that there were plenty of people who did. She didn't mention the spell that they used because she couldn't remember what it was called. She totally paid attention though. AJ had her quill and parchment ready for when somebody did give the right answer. |
Jasmine had finished her snacks and they were delicious. So now it was time for a question in the practical Transgiguration class. Jasmine raised her hand to answer the question. "Stricidium Nubila", is a weather changing spell. It changes a cloud into a snow cloud. Then Professor Bellaire wanted to know how they could use the spell outside of the classroom. Jasmine would need to take a moment to think about that one. |
Quote:
As for uses...? Practical uses outside the classroom? Hmm... Good question Professor Bellaire. He couldn't really think as snow was all that was on his mind. He pursed his lips. His blue eyes widened. SNOW. That was it! Simon raised his hand. "Professor, could the weather modifying charms be used to make it warmer so that it could melt snow away?" he asked because if that was so then he'd have to start using that in the Great Hall during breakfast time. |
Back at his desk, Adi took a sip of his hot chocolate then set his cup aside. Quill and parchment out. And a hand in the air, too. "Stiricidium Nubila is the incantation, Professor.'' How could they use the spell out of class? Well, he was still thinking of something in reply to that question. In the meanwhile, why not have a quick sip of the cocoa? It motivated him to think, ya know. |
He had made the best choice ever. Ever. Best brownie. Kyroh chewed and even slurped at his hot chocolate. He even almost forgot that they were in class, and class meant questions and all that. Swallowing what was in his mouth, the first year raised his hand. "You can use it when you're having a bad day and you just DON'T like the weather that's happening." |
