On the left wall under the large windows in the Common Room Mr Kitridge has put in a few new low shelves stocked to the brim with muggle and magical board games alike. If you feel like playing a game of exploding snap or wizard chess with a friend or two you should come over.

Mr Kitridge has also provided a table nearby with a tray of fixings for tea, coffee and hot cocoa, and to complete the tray some cookies and even a tasty sandwich or two, that hopefully will quench the immediate thirst and hunger you can get from playing a board game with passion and energy.

Even with seven floors, countless rooms, hundreds of books, lessons, NEWT studies and her own private studies, Dora was running out of things to do that would distract her from the fact that she was stuck inside the castle for yet another week. Not allowed to leave to visit Hogsmeade or even sit in the courtyard and get some fresh air and be away from everyone else because of this bloody blizzard.

She was growing more than a little stir crazy.

Still, the prefect had no urge to leave her common room today since the entire castle would be even more crowded, and most in here were smart enough to leave her alone. Having a dangerous reputation did have it's perks.

Wandering out of the dorms and over to where Kitridge had provided some board games, she poured herself a cup of coffee while considering the games.

You know, Nigel had only one thought to being trapped in the Castle for however long this lasts. It is a really nice prison, with some really nice food. Still a prison and Nigel will not think about what will happen when the food runs out. No he will not. The only way to make Nigel want to start a riot and shoot fireworks everywhere is if the fireplaces freeze over and all the warmth is gone.

Really morbid to think about.

Anyway, after thinking about this in his favorite chair for a couple minutes. The Prefect decided to move on over to get some tea in that one corner over there with the appearing food and drinks. Not even questioning why Dora was there because really it was too much effort. He sat down.

"Don't tell me you are bored enough to consider board games." Nigel said grinning. He was not serious because who did not enjoy a game of wizard chess on occasion. If you had the time and energy to actually play that is.

All the biscuits were Mo's. He decided that as soon as he approached the game area, spotted a Dora and Nigel there, and noticed the collection of drinks and treats. In the event that people weren't allowed out of the castle and were congregating in the most unusual spots, the kitchens had become abnormally busy. It was hard to steal snacks, and Cat was sort of busy preparing recipes for after graduation...

And all the biscuits belonged to Mo. He made himself a cup of cocoa and brought the whole plate over to where Dora and Nigel were looking over the games. "I can beat you both at Exploding Snap. With my eyes closed." He was just that good.

Black and hot. Just the way she liked her coffee. Dora took a sip and turned to look at the games, only too be pleasantly surprised by the sight of her co-prefect. "Not bored enough to play them." She grinned at him. "But bored enough to bend the pieces to my will." That was always fun, and Dora didn't understand half of the muggle games anyway.

"Want some coffee?" Oh, and look there was a Mo. "Not even in your dreams, Marcus Orion." She drew her wand and summoned all the games off the shelves to pile beside her. "And even if then, only because I let you." Dream!Dora was so generous.

Well that sounded perfectly normal and was kind of what Nigel expected to hear. As most were magical board games, bending the pieces to your will was possible and very fun. "I like that distinction." And coffee did sound a tad better than tea right now. "Sure"

Exploding Snaps?

Nigel was sure Mo knew he did not play for the obvious fact that with his luck the exploding would take place in his hair and that was a big no-no. "You know i don't play Exploding Snaps." For the obvious reasons that it exploded in Nigel's hair. It was his luck. Or any board game for that matter. Other types of games interested him though. Still he was never bored enough for a bored game until now.

Curse you, Blizzard thing.

"So, you would beat me and look Dora is being nice by letting you win."

Mo made a face and flopped backwards into one of the seats, sloshing just a bit of his cocoa up onto hand. Ouch ouch ouch burny hand burny hand! He sucked cocoa off his fingers and continued to make faces at both Dora and Nigel. He deserved pity for his burned hand, especially since they were both being completely lame about Exploding Snap.

"I'm amazing at the game. But fine... what did you have in mind, O Great Brain?" That was directed at Dora. Nigel was clever, but he wasn't a mastermind like Dora. Whatever it was she was planning here in the game corner, that involved ALL the games but not Exploding Snap, was obviously going to be epic. As epic as Mophie Ball? Probably not, but still well worth Mo's time.

"You should join me then, I don't mind an extra wand." Not when it was a friend's at least. Dora put down her coffee momentarily to fix him up one. "How do you like it?" Could she guess? She was going to guess.

Mo faces got amused glances as she fixed up the coffee, going light on the cream and sugar before passing it over to Nigel for inspection. "I did't have any game playing in mind, actually. I was going to use all the pieces to recreate historic war battles." She retrieved her coffee and the first board game within her reach. "Except I was going to change key moments and outcomes based on my mood." And Isidora had been very moody lately with this lock-in.

"Want to help?"

"Of Course. This will be more interesting than anything i had planned." He had a nap planned. But that could wait till later. Because after the nap was studying. And he would procrastinate that. Thinking ahead. He just raised an eyebrow as she went to guess how he liked his coffee. Once it was finished. He thanked her and took a sip. "Very Good" Sugar was always welcome in his coffee.

O' Great Brain. Nigel could appreciate that sarcasm. Knowing that is definitely was not directed at him. Nobody ever called him a genius at standard Claw things. Clever yes,

Insane...probably yes too.

"We could just animate the pieces, change the landscapes on the board, and watch them fight. Betting on a winner as it starts." Gives incentive to watch and it is fun watching pieces fight each other. If not than historical re-enactments work for Nigel.

Hm. Animating the pieces to reenact battles was a VERY Ravenclaw thing to do, actually, and Mo heartily approved. Not that heartily approving ever got him very far with this crowd. It was better to play it off and not be too eager. Eager was always the way to lose Dora's interest, and Nigel was a Dora fan, and Mo wanted to keep them both.

So. He shrugged. "Sure, I guess. Which battle were you thinking?" He grabbed one of the boxes and dumped it out on the table, sorting out dice and little metal thimbles and a tiny Muggle car and other oddities. Weird stuff in this box. "Do you want to use any of this paper stuff?"

Dora was great at making drinks, right? She smirked at Nigel when he approved of the coffee while thinking just that. Maybe she would do that later when she grew bored again, make a bunch of drinks and guess how everyone liked theirs.

"I like that, we should each have our own armies. Make it more of a challenge." She settled own on the floor, pulling out the board game's mats and laying them together to make a large playing field. "What are we betting?"

"Well," She glanced up at Mo briefly before starting on setting up the original battle she'd thought of. "I was thinking of starting with the Siege of Orléans. But if we have our own armies then it'll throw the entire thing off." What did he think?

She held out her hand for the paper stuff. "Yes, I need to make trees."

Nigel continued to sip on the coffee as he listened. It was only a suggestion. He did not care what they did. A three way battle did sound fun and betting. Of course they would be betting on it. Would make it more interesting. Plus why not.

"Pizza or a dare. Only thing i can think of right now."

Nigel had no idea what the Siege of Orléans was. History of Magic was not exactly his class of choice. And rewriting history sounded a lot more fun than a historical reenactment. Nigel's two knuts. "If we are doing the reenactment i can make whatever you want to make"

Now THIS? This was a place that the little first year liked to visit a lot, especially after a long day of lessons. It was one of his favorite spots in the common room, and Dima was eager for his beloved gaming spot to be filled with warmth again. That would go especially well with those snacks their AWESOME Head of House had supplied too, yeah? He was also glad this was his last stop, because that meant he could cease the spell casting HERE.

And then maybe eat. Or nap. Good plan, Toussaint.

"Caelum Saepio!" The oh-so-familiar infinity sign his wand had been tracing over walls all day was drawn again, this time just under a large window on the left side of the space. A little bit of fog floated into the air, but Dima wasn't satisfied, so he tried again. "Caelum Saepio!"

Once he made the next horizontal eight, it seemed like he'd set something on fire, judging by all that smoky stuff. Second time was the charm, huh?
