From reading the notice board you head to the third floor for the last Creature lesson of the term. Recognising one of the Professor's signs outside one of the classroom doors, you enter inside the somewhat chilly room to see the floor had been transformed to be bright green grass and the ceiling revealing the lack of sky from all the clouds. In one of the corners is a spacious and somewhat crude-resembling ground nest. Throughout the ground are the usual padded heated blankets. Professor Thompson is sitting on the lone desk by the nest. Step right in and try to get warm and comfy.

Where are we at?
Post 1 - Greetings + What creature is this? Post 2 - It's Henry the Hippogriff! Why make him invisible? Post 3 - Keeping them a secret. How are they different from Griffins? Post 4 + 5 - Lining up before petting Henry.
Well, inside/outside, but he would take it after the way that things had been shaping up this term. Though, he didn't bother to say hi or thanks or anyting like that 'cause that was stupid, yeah?
Instead he took a seat and looked at the creature. A hippogriff. Duh.
Jeez, he just wasn't in the mood. Ever. 'Cause he was a jerk.

"Good day everyone. While our class may be indoors now, that won't stop us from getting to see another live creature today." Wait for it.. "In fact, we actually have a special guest here." Javy then drew his wand out pointing his wand in the direction of the open nest. Motioning a tight arc shape in mid-air before lowering his wand to reveal a previously invisible creature now fully visible who was busy nomming on a furry treat. "Anyone want to take a guess on what this creature is?" Quite a few older students will definitely be able to hopefully.
Absent-mindedly Cassia ran her hand over the grass careful not to pluck anything out. Though, it wasn't completely real but still, she wouldn't ruin it when the Professor put a lot of effort to make the classroom look like outdoors. It was most appreciated. And Lex was now sitting next to her. The seventeen years old beamed at her bestie and would have started a chat but Professor Thompson was now talking.
Her attention slid to the man and more particularly the nest. She wondered what lay there. KDFJIRJFKLJGDNGR! Was this for real. As soon as her eyes saw the creature, she wanted to jump up or something. A Hippogriff! How cool was it that on her last lesson they would be talking about her favorite creature. Cassia nudged Lex quite enthusiastically giving her a DID SHE SEE? look as if the Gryffindor would miss the creature. She needed a moment to contain the excitement.
Once she knew she wasn't going to act like a five year-old, she raised her hand and answered. "A Hippogriff,"

Aahh so they were learning about a new creature today. Kace had no idea what it was but it look like a combination of a bird and a horse? He had no idea what the name was but he saw it before. It looked cute and he wanted to pet him. He listened to the other students answers and a Hippogriff sounded familiar. He didn't want to repeat their answer. He just continued to look at the creature.
You have bewitched me body and soul, And I love- I love- I love you
Mackenzie grinned "Professor that's a hippogriff" She loved this class for this reason.. all of the beautiful creatures they got to learn about. She briefly wondered if her parents had ever had a thirst for knowledge of the animals that also inhabited the world or if they would dismiss it as being a child. sigh she missed her parents this summer was going to be hard.. her third without them. And to top it off she was spending it all in London. Shaking the thoughts from her head she continued to stare at the hippogriff.. the animal was beautiful.
It was a wonderfully short nap when Nigel heard Thompson start the class. Still, why open your eyes when the question was answered before you can even think of the answer. Just things to ponder with your eyes closed. So, it was a hungry hungry hippogriff. That was all he was asking. Okay, well since that was settled. All Nigel could hope for is that it was not get any colder. If it did then he should have brought his snowboarding outfit up her to Hogwarts.
Like, Really.
It was the only winter wear he owned.

It was time for them to get started and Lux was looking forward to this lesson because Care of Magical Creatures was always so much fun. Though she did have to wonder how they would be able to do an activity inside the castle. For most classes it was fine working indoors, but when dealing with magical animals things were different. Professor Thompson was smart though so he had to have something worked out.
Noticing the nest for the first time since she had entered, it surprised her slightly when a creature appeared out of nowhere. Had it been there the entire time? O_O At least it wasn't a Thestral because the whole death thing was rather creepy. Raising her hand, she said, "That is a Hippogriff." And since when were they able to become invisible? This was confusing.

The Gryffindor smiled as his Slytherin friends made their way towards him one by one. Man. Simon, Ethan AND Grayson and that other girl who always seemed to be around the older kid these days. He was surrounded by snakes! Not that he minded of course, just with points getting so close and all it was a bit intimidating. But they were friends so happy beams for them. He also couldn't help, but laugh widely as Ethan did some... grassangels? How that kid always managed to make something so ridiculous looks so effortlessly cool, he had no idea.
As for the question, the answer was clearly a Hippogriff as everyone else had mentioned before. So Zander didn't raise his hand as well, you know, redundancy and all. Instead, he reached for his bag and pulled out his Hippogriff plush toy that they were given in the playmates meeting. It was the only positive thing that came out of that night. Except it was just a plush toy, so it wasn't even that cool.

Could she pet it?
She'd like to.
Cool it, Wayne.
Not betraying her serious demeanor, Beverly simply shrugged the extra blanket it off and sat up straight. Then in a matter of seconds her hand shot up into the air. "A hippogriff. That's a hippogriff." And it was beautiful. *__*

In all honesty, Lex hadn't been paying attention to much but the decor, even while the Professor began so no, she didn't notice the Hippogriff at first. Actually...it was CASSIA jabbing at her hard in all her excitement that brought the Gryffindor's eyes to the front of the class. Yes. Here. Paying attention and here--
"Oh wow a Hippogriff. How long's he been here?" Did they get to set him on people? Was this a fully hands on class? If someone got mauled could she watch for a while before he stopped it--wait no, that would depend. Lex fixed her eyes on her bestie for a moment, yup, still sitting at a safe distance. You may begin your rampage Mr. Wonderful Beast, the Gryffindor needed a show and what better one than one that simultaneously taught why wide animals shouldn't be allowed in enclosed classrooms with children?
The good thing about having a Snake for a bestie, not having to worry they'd do something stupid to get themselves killed, so all her focus could be on the Hippogriff, yes.

A HIPPOGRIFF? In spite of the fact that it was freezing all over the castle and they were trapped, Mo was still thrilled to tears to be in that room at that moment. Because of hippogriff reasons. And look how awesome and majestic it was. Just hanging out there, eating its snack, being the bossest creature in the room.
Could they ride it? Was it too soon to ask? Mo wiggled in place and restrained himself from jumping ahead in the lesson. "Hippogriff. Awesome." Totally awesome.

Of COURSE the snakes are surrounding you, Zander. It was how they rolled. Totally an intimidation factor.
Hissy hissy little kitty lion.
Zander was cool, it was fine. And even MORE cool company followed in the form of Simon and Ethan. Ethan who had stopped, dropped and rolled his way over -- Glendower would be pleased with that entrance - and had been making what looked like grass angels moments before. He wanted to ask. Oh he SO wanted to ask if they could join in. Instead, he just looked over at Simon and nodded vigorously at the hand signals. Seemed excited, that one did. Was it about the grass? Or had he found a new stash of sweets that he was all too willing to share? HMMMMM.
Attention was, again, but this time, by Thompson. Grayson's blue eyes landed on the Professor and then over towards--
HOLY SWEET MOTHER OF MERLIN.
A hippogriff. An actual real-life HIPPOGRIFF.
This was freaking BRILLIANT. These bad boys were all about PRIDE, something Grayson completely understood. He had total respect for them and was VERY glad that they were being given the opportunity to meet one. Though, considering the fact that they were indoors, this probably meant that they couldn't fly on one. Again, thank you snow for sucking all the fun out of their lives.
As for the question, since lots of people had answered already, Grayson wasn't going to repeat what they had said. Instead, he was going to continue watching the creature because it was a cool one. And according to Delilah, he was a creep. Had to live up to that reputation, now didn't he?
Yeah, you eat that furry thing, you dangerous creature you.

“That’s a Hippogriff, professor.” He said with a raised hand. Ethan looked it up right after the professor had given them a plush toy resembling one. Majestic creatures, they were. Mhm.

Had that creature been there the whole time too? Hayden probably couldn't have been that unobservant. Probably. Either way, she didn't dwell on it. She just raised her hand. "That's a Hippogriff." Yeah, she actually knew something.

The Professor nodded as majority of the students pointed out. "Yes, this is a Hippogriff. His name is Henry, who has been a part of Hogwarts for two years." Now then. "Hippogriffs can substain relatively cooler temperatures than we can, but of course not as extreme as outside the castle right now." Javy then gave him some good scratches behind his ear. Henry the Hippogriff liked the scratches, closing its golden eyes momentarily enjoying it much more than the tall human's words. "The name Hippogriff is derived from combining the name 'Hippos' a greek word for horse and 'Griffin'." Using his wand to tap the board with it. Words now formed over the icy board.

Yep, notes. Not a lot luckily for them. Javy waited for them to take their little notepads out before continuing. "Henry here was placed under the Disillusionment Charm. Now why is it so important to perform it on Hippogriffs?"

Simon had spent the majority of the class listening to others. Today, he was rather tired and spent most of his time staring off into space. Despite this, the boy was managing still to take notes. Notes were important. Without them, he'd probably would be lost.
Why was it important to use the disillusionment charm on a Hippogriff?
Well muggles seemed like the simplest answer so he went with that. He raised his hand. "Using a disillusionment charm on a Hippogriff would stop plenty of muggles having heart attacks. Imagine if you were a muggle and saw a Hippogriff, you wouldn't know what to do."

Toby raised his hand whilst still thinking of an answer.
"Is it becaaauuuuse..." Uhhh. Hmm. [b]"OH. Maybe because if you keep Hippogriffs and one escapes or flies off or if a muggle happens accross them somehow then they'll be all disguised. Like, for the Statute of Secrecy?"[b]
A lot of wizarding world world rules and laws did seem to be because of that after all, so it was a decent guess, right?

There was his bestie. A relief though Benny made no outward sign of it. "Hey," he returned before nodding. "Yep..." the Gryffindor confirmed not caring it was an obvious statement. "Wasn't going to risk being late to this class." Another obvious thing since they both loved COMC so much.
Soon enough Professor Thompson started the class, revealing the hidden focus of today's lesson. A hippogriff. He knew but had remained silent and he was pretty sure Adi beside him knew what it was, the Hufflepuff quite enamored with the creatures. At the next question he raised a hand to answer. "It would be for Statute reasons wouldn't it? To keep muggles from seeing them, especially in flight."

Jasmine took lots of notes about Hippogiffs and listened carefully to what the Professor had to say. However why Henry had been under the Dissolusionment Charm, Jasmine did not know for sure. As her classmates said, to keep from violating the Statute of Secrecy rules. That seemed to make the most sense to Jasmine.
Raising her hand, Jasmine felt like she was re-stating the obvious. "I agree with the others. You wouldn't want to risk having an unusual animal like a Hippogriff seen by Muggles. Plus they can be dangerous if you don't know he right way to handle them.

Disillusionment charm? OOOOH he hoped that was what they were going to do today! Caleb loved practicing spells like that in class. He raised his hand, because first - question time.
"Because hippogriffs are magical creatures and totally not something muggles would expect to see. They'd for sure know something was up if a half bird half horse thing came walking down the street," he explained.

It was a challenge to stay put and listen to the professor, but Mo was doing his best. Not only to be a good example to his classmates and not be a distraction, but also to get as much information as he could. Maybe he'd encounter a hippogriff someday. It was likely, based on the line of work he wanted to go into.
But this question... Mo raised his hand. "It isn't as if there's anything in the Muggle world that looks remotely like a hippogriff. They'd be immediately aware that there's something wrong and unnatural, to their minds, and would probably freak out. Definite breach of the Statute."

Pft. Totally not intimidated. Nope. Not this lion. Ha. Ha. Ha?
This just made it easier to take them down all at once? That's definitely exactly what he wanted. With all the Slytherin's sitting right next to each other, just take em down all in one? Definitely not intimidated. Nooope. Not this kid. He was TOTALLY a manly Gryffindor that could take down alllll of you. Hippogriff excluded because now that thing was actually intimidating. Think it's scared of lions? Doooouuuubbbtttful.
As for the question? This took a bit of thinking... Well there was one answer on his mind? "Because if it wasn't under a disillusionment charm, we would've all probably ran up to it to pet it?" Weren't Hippogriffs super testy too? "And then it could've attacked one of us, which would be very... very bad." And that was the whole true story. Yeah. So best keep it away from the visible eye and from curious students. But all that statute of secrecy stuff could have been right too. Just more boring. Yeah.

~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
A HIPPOGRIFF! If Adi wasn't so surprised to see one he would be flailing all over the place. A real live hippogriff! Even though it was his first encounter with one, he had been long obsessed with the creatures. He was staring so much at the Hippogriff in front of them, that he didn't even register the first question.
Everyone knew what those majestic beasts were anyway. Hiiiii, there Henry the Great. Hehe.
The Hippogriff obsessed boy jammed a hand in the air for the second question, however. "To prevent Muggles from noticing them and their awesomeness.'' Everyone should know what great creatures Hippogriffs were. Too bad for the non magical folks. They were missing out.
It took Jonas a while to realize that the professor was in there. Then when he did realzie, it was time to take notes. Hippagriffs! That was Jonas' favorite nimal. He smilled and quickly took notes. Now the question. Dillusionment...it meant to cover.
"Wouldnt it mean to cover up the hippogriff?" Jonas asked as he raised his hand. "So muggles on't know?"
Angel looked at the Professor. "Professor is it because Hippogriff's can fly?" Angel wasn't 100% sure but she had a feeling that if one escapes and a muggle saw it then it would be very hard to explain what has happened and what the muggle had saw.
