You are making your way to the Barnyard looking for the familiar signs to direct you on where to go. There are no signs needed as once you arrive you look around the back of the Barnyard to see Professor Thompson in front of a fenced in garden. Beyond the garden you can see the tall grass surrounding it and trees at this distance. Occasionally in the garden you see what looks like running potatoes-heads at first glance every now and then.
Feel free to get comfy while you still can.

Whilst the students worked on clearing the garden, Javy sat over the fences watching that things didn't get too out of control. Occasionally hopping off it when some pesky Gnomes insisted on biting his shoes. Yeah, he took care of them before sitting down again.

"Professor, how can you tell if gnomes are boys or girls?" Was it the head shape or something wickedly cool like that? Also, the gnome started moving again, so she shot another stunning spell at it. Haha.
Hm? Another question. "There's a few ways to tell the difference. The easiest way to tell without the need to examine them is based on their laughter. The females tend to laugh at a more rapid and higher pitch than the males." It saved the time checking them thoroughly on the major differences.

Um, clean or not, the finger was still bleeding. Not badly, the bite hadn't been very deep, but it was definitely bleeding. That kind of stuff didn't really make Gwen queasy. She'd played soccer for far too many years for the sight of blood to make her sick, but she didn't like it.
She she shook it off, brushing the blood onto her black robes. She was done now. Could she maybe go inside and talk to Kitridge about pets she was and wasn't allowed to keep?
This student had already finished not too long ago. Javy did expect some bites to happen, though the sight of one still bleeding by it was a little concerning. Just a little, since they weren't lethal and easy to fix. "Miss Jensen, come over here please." Waiting until she walked over to him so he could examine the bleeding finger. Least she cleaned it. With a simple tap of his wand, the bleeding stopped before a bandage wrapped over the cut.
Once that was done, Javy quietly took a small pouch bag from his inner jacket sleeve. Quite a few were finished by now and some were being great with assisting others. They definitely earned this reward then.
"Alright everyone, those of you who have finished are free to go." Unlocking the gate, but not opening it in the off chance sneaky Gnomes tried to escape into the other gardens outside. "Now before you go, make sure to drop off any gloves if you had borrowed any and to also collect your reward." Holding the bag that jingled at each movement. When finished you went up to collect a special something in the bag on the way out.

Marigold was out of breath from running to try and recatch HER gnome. But when she looked back up, whatshisfaceMCFLY had STOLEN her GNOME.
"McFlyyyy," she whined, not even caring that her nickname for him because she didn't actually know his name was exposed. "You stole my gnome. She crossed her arms with a pout and huffed. She was going to just stand there until McFly returned her gnome mhm - except was that another gnome? She turned her focus to that one instead, but kept McFly in sight.
Around over the fence he lands. Nothing special about it. Nigel did not think he need to do anymore and did some extra work actually. Once he was sure the gnome landed and Nigel smirked at the hilarity of it. This will never get old.
Ah, there was Thompson. So they could leave, awesome. Nigel would not want to keep these gloves anyway. They were pink and not Nigel's style. So he dropped off the gloves and collected the reward. Pretty cool coin it was.
"Thanks Professor"
Now he needed a nap.

Okay, Schuyler was getting closer now.
C'mon, Gnomeo. C'MON.
Closer..... Closer.......
And with a springy step, Schuyler pushed off the ground and dove for the scurrying potato. Almost missing him completely, she juuust caught his leg with her hand, and the gnome tripped and faceplanted right in front of himself. Seeing his situation now, Schuyler gasped and scrambled on her hands and knees and LURCHED forward.....
"GOTCHA!"
Little bugger was struggling, but he was within the grip of her hands now. Hey, heeeey. Not too shabby for the muggle method, eh?
After her previous failures, Norah opted to stay away from magic with her third and final gnome. She spotted one on the other side of the garden, and sprinted over to it through the madness of the class, dodging a flying gnome here and there. Found you! She put her foot in its pinched face and picked it up by its arms. It bared its teeth at her while flailing its legs frantically, but Norah was already twirling around and around and around and aroouuuuund. She let go of the gnome's arms but she was too dizzy to watch where the gnome actually went and instead continued twirling, with an extra prance or two thrown in, until she fell onto the grass. Whoops. She pushed herself off the ground again and dusted off the back of her robes. Might as well conserve some of her dignity, yep. She leaned down to inspect her bruise from earlier before skipping over to where the professor was standing. That was a pretty AWESOME bruise, y'know.
Norah beamed at the professor as she returned her borrowed gloves. She took a moment to say goodbye to the pink sparkles because sparkles always deserve special treatment before turning to thank Professor Thompson. "Thank you professor," she said grinning, "That was an AWESOME class! Wooooah a REWARD? No way! Ooooh and it was shiny! She grinned at the professor one last time before exiting the garden. She shouted another "Thank you!" over her shoulder and pranced her way back through the grounds.

OOC: As demonstrated, you are to complete the activity by sending two gnomes over the fence.
-Stop a Gnome with your foot (Do not punt them), non-attacking spell, etc.
-Take them by their feet so they dangle upside down with their mouths away from your hands
-Spin around enough times before releasing them.
-Make sure they land over into the pen with the tall grass and other objects for them to hit. When you miss (since no one's perfect) simply go after it and try again.
This should take at least eight posts to complete, remember to label them. You have until May 20th, 11 pm EST to finish.
Sophie moved her foot back into its regular position and looked down at the gnome. The poor little guy was wide-eyed and swaggering. She laughed a little, knowing she didn't really hurt him.
Oh, she should really scoop him up before he got away, right? She scrambled to scoop him up and pretty soon held him in her small hands. She adjusted him to where she was holding him by his feet, dangling him upside down. She made sure his mouth was away from her hands. Getting bit was not on her priority list today.
In that position, she began spinning around and around. When she thought she'd spun enough, she stopped short and released him. She paused in place and watched as the gnome soared off, landing a moment later amongst the tall grass.
Lucy finally saw another gnome ..
Some of her friends had already finished but she would not give up ..
She sat behind a tree and decided to brush up the spell "Wingardium Leviosa ..." ..."Wave and Flick .."

Lux 3, Gnomes 0.
"Yeah, they sure won't win any beauty contests." Totally in agreement with him on that one. Watching him capture and spin his Gnome, she whistled as he sent it soaring after the one she had just tossed. "Awesome, so who won this round?" Being short sucked, and it was easier for him to see. Merrr.
This was interesting. No really, it was. He wasn't being sarcastic, for once. Their meetings had been short and only included school work but, from what he was getting, it seemed like Lux was a competitive person. Unless he was wrong. Eh. MAYBE. "The game in on."
This was fun, wasn't it?
Grayson snorted with laughter as he bent down and picked up the gnome. He took a moment to think about what she had said, using this time to spin around, while swinging the gnome around as well. Coming to a stop before he got dizzy -- didn't want to snog the grass again, did he? -- the boy sent the gnome flying over towards the tall grass in the pen. "Not the brightest of creatures, either."
Who won? He peered over at the pen, maybe even squinting a little before saying, "I think your gnome was the most daft." Meaning that it had flown further. Meaning that she had won.

Hayden was looking around the garden for another gnome when she heard the professors voice. She figured she should probably stop and listen. What? Some people were already done? She'd have to work faster so she wouldn't be the last one left in there. Unfortunately she'd been distracted while listening, and didn't notice a sneaky little gnome come up behind her. She knew it was there when she felt teeth against her ankle. Hayden let out a short scream of surprise but tried to stifle it as soon as she was aware of actually screaming. She threw herself onto the ground, trying to get away from the gnome. Normally she wouldn't have welcomed falling on top of a gnome but at the moment it meant she had it pinned underneath her. So she grabbed it by its feet and stood up. Before she could get bit again, Hayden spun around and around and around, letting the gnome go when she thought it would be sufficiently dizzy. This time, she felt almost no affects of dizziness herself. She was getting better at this.
Maybe now was the moment..the gnome had begun to take a nap into the bush...
Lucy walked slowly without making noise..
Then she looked over the fence to see what was the direction in wich to levitate the gnome..then she pointed her wand at it..
Right, Agatha had had enough of these gnomes, so as soon as professor Thompson said they could leave, she made her way over to the gate. She looked up at him when he mentioned a reward and stepped closer to retrieve one for herself.
...What...?
What was that anyway? A sparkly thing? Merlin, what was up with people and their random gifts? Agatha shrugged and looked back up at the professor as she put her gloves and reward away. "Thank you. Goodbye."
The Slytherin made sure she closed the gate again after she walked through it to leave the area.

Okay, so now it was time for some serious garden de-gnoming. As the class dispersed around the fenced-in area, Benny moved as well, trying to think of a good place to start. There was movement abounding in the lush green foliage yet too many students going after one gnome would likely only serve to let the gnome get free as the humans worried about not colliding with or hitting others with their spells.
Finally the third year came up to one he figured he could go for himself. First things first, he had to stop the creature and a part of him couldn't bring himself to use magic so Ben opted to try do it the other way first. "Come here you...." he mused as he went after the gnome, the mischievous thing evading him once...twice. The third time he managed to stun it with his foot so he could grab the gnome by its feet as directed.
Jun had never done it before. Bit of an advantage of living in the muggle world. but they still had other kinds of pests around. Not as hard to get rid of like gnomes but close. Making sure his gloves were properly on his hands, the boy walked around, carefully look for a gnome. Hearing something behind him, Jun turned and thought he saw little feet running by. He kept walking, a bit slower, to see if it was a gnome that was already following him. But that pesky creature was gone. Giving up on that one, Jun jogged around, looking for a new target.
BAM.
A gnome ran by right in front of him. Jun sprinted into a run, trying to catch it. Wand in hand, he casted Stupefy at it but missed. Still running after it, he decided to try again. "Stupefy!" And this time, he didn't missed. The gnome fell, laughing. Jun grabbed the creature by its feet and began spinning around. Let's hope it doesn't land on another student.

Was she in trouble? Professor Thompson hadn't called any other students over to him. Did he know? She was sure nobody had seen it. Maybe she was in trouble for not throwing the first gnome, but just setting him on the other side of the fence?
Gwen stepped over to the professor, who luckily just stopped the slight bleed in her finger and wrapped it. She sighed internally in relief. "Thank you, sir." Good thing he had done that, because Gwen didn't really know how yet. Maybe she should ask. Maybe not.
They got a reward? Gwen had not been paying enough attention at the beginning of class. She waited her turn behind all of the other students and grabbed a coin-thing out of the bag. What exactly was it? It had a spider thing on it. Gwen decided not to say anything about how creepy the 'reward' was, and slipped it into her pocket before heading back up to the castle.
Lucy said, "Wingardium Leviosa!" The gnome began to rise slowly ..
Fortunately, it was sleeping .. Lucy did slow movements, waving the wand with calm..
The gnome has levitated over the fence and Lucy has put the gnome on the tall grass gently ..
She said: "Done!"

Catch a gnome? Check.
Chuck the gnome far away into the tall grass? UNcheck.
..But soon to be checked.
Schuyler gripped the little guy in her hands as she stood up from the ground. He squirmed and made some gnomey noises, but he wasn't going anywhere. Nope. Well, actually he was. Or WOULD be. About to be, yes. In a moment.
Speaking of which, Schuyler started her spinning. Round and round in a circle, holding out the gnome as she did so. And once she gathered a decent amount of momentum.....
WHOOOOOSH!
She'd released the gnome and he flew from her hands. Her dizzied eyes followed the trajectory aaaaaall the way until the garden gnome disappeared into the tall grass beyond.
Now after Kace was done and sweating his butt off. He heard the professor end the lesson. He wiped the sweat off his forehead and went towards him and returned his gloves. They were sweaty but the professor could clean them eventually. As he placed them in the bin he noticed there was a bag. Kace liked surprises. He took the bag and looked inside and realized it was coins. He smiled and said, "Thanks Professor for the lesson and this bag of goodies!" gesturing towards the bag.
Then he collected his book bag and went back to the castle to get some grub. He was quite hungry.
With one gnome flung and done, Kate began her search for her next gnome. There were so many other students running around and flinging gnomes like crazy people, she had trouble seeing a wide enough swath of ground to see a gnome.
This would never do.
She squatted, so she was closer to eye level with the gnomes. Peering around all the robes and feet and trying not to get kicked in the face, Kate spotted a gnome running among the forest of students' robes and legs. There! That gnome practically had her name on it. Fully determined to catch the gnome as easily as she had caught her first one, Kate stood up for better mobility. Look out, Mr. Gnome, Kate's a-coming!
Taking one step towards the gnome, Kate immediately tripped and fell. Squatting to look had led her to step on the front of her robes. Oops!
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Now for the second knocked out gnome. Adi grabbed it and began swinging it over his head. But wait a minute...something was happening. The gnome had come out of its "sleep"! It was flailing and making gnomey sounds as it tried to escape.
"Cut it out, you!'' the Puffer snapped. He was going to get this one into the grass. He was determined to do that. Maintaining a tight grip, Adi continued swinging until... he let it fly! Through the air it went, closer and closer to the fence...over the fence and among the grass! Sure it hadn't gone as far as the other two but hey, he had gotten three over the fence in total.
And that was that. He was done! "Fun lesson, Professor,'' the third year told Thompson with a grin. "Also, thank you for the reward.'' He waved and went off to lurk somewhere close because he was going to wait on his bestie to finish up.

The troublesome, potato-like creature struggled in his grasp, clearly wishing to be free once more. And clearly not all too knocked out from the Gryffindor's actions to catch him. As he hung for a moment in the air, the gnome mimiced biting and Ben was glad that his face wasn't anywhere near him. That was definitely a safety precaution that the professor was right to make them aware of. The last thing he wanted was an arm or two filled with gnome bites and scratches and any assorted other things he could have gotten from the deal.
What was next? Right....spinning and throwing.
Taking a deep breath, Benny tighted his grip on the gnome and began slowly turning around in place, the creature raising a bit. He gradually spun faster and faster, the gnome becoming horizontal as the circular motion provided buonancy to the little round body. Picking a section of the fence to aim for, the third year took one more turn and let go.

Dylan had knocked the gnome over and now it was time to pick it up. He really was a bit scared to do it, but he'd never admit that out loud or anything...he had to look tough ya know. He wasn't a wimp. Psh. Reaching down, he grabbed the gnome as fast as he could by the feet. The gnome dangled as he held him over the ground. It was a fiesty one, that was for sure. It kept wriggling about, trying to swing at him with all its might to bite at him. "Ohh no you don't," Dylan said to the gnome, waggling a finger at it. That's right. Dylan was tough.

"I'll go to the left, you go to the right and we'll meet in the middle. Now go!" Jasmine slowly walked to the left and when she had the gnome in her line of sight she broke into a run. After her last incident, she had no problem using a spell on the gnome, if necessary.

Now for the more fun part. Grinning, Dylan began spinning around, gripping the gnome's legs tightly. He spun around a few times before flinging it over the fence. He had flung it a bit too strongly, but it was kind of funny to watch the gnome soar fast over the fence. Regaining his balance from the slight dizziness he had gotten from spinning, he watched the gnome until it disappeared from his sight over the fence. Perfect. Time for the next gnome.
