post 4 and Leah

Angel had been standing still when suddenly she heard her friend yell, but before she could do anything someone else was helping Leah out which was good. "You okay?" Angel asked Leah as she moved closer to her. "It's okay Leah." Angel beamed, she wanted to hug her friend but she wasn't going to do it in front of the whole class that would be weird.

"Want me to show you how to do it?" Angel smiled. "I didn't want to throw them at first but then one bit me so I think they deserve it and I'm sure it doesn't hurt them."

I AM COMING FOR YOU, GNOME.

Derry chased after the gnome that had escaped her grip and somehow, by sheer determination, managed to get in front of it, sticking her foot out to stop it running.

...

Actually that was pretty amusing, like some kind of kids cartoon. She let out a little giggle at the poor thing, trying to run but getting nowhere, then leaned down and grabbed it by the foot, firmly this time. Right...

She had to spin it now? Weird, but... fun. Probably.

Coming to an halt at the place where he had seen the Gnome, Kevin looked around to see if he saw it somewhere but realised that it was probably gone already. Maybe...maybe the technique for these creatures was to ambush them? But right as he thought this, he heard small feet running from somewhere in the tall grass and he spun around to see where it came from.

His wand was held at the ready and as he pointed it to where he thought he heard the grass move he was surprised by an attack on the back of his leg. He didn't yell out though, that was for weak people and the Gryffindor wasn't weak. Instead he twirled around and JUMPED at the Gnome.

The creature was faster though and Kevin landed with a loud THUD on the ground. He pointed his wand at the creature as it began to run away from him and shouted "STUPIFY!" A small spark of red light flew out of the wand before it vanished and the Gnome escaped.

She could hear someone laughing, and Leah did not blame her, she must have looked hilarious. And then with a sharp pain, the pressure on her head was gone. So was some of her hair. Not daring to massage her head, she turned to her savior. It was an older girl, and she was spinning the gnome. Leah watched as it flew away and managed a smile. "Thank you for the help." she called out as the girl ran off.

The second year turned around and faced Angel. Apparently she had returned to her original spot while running. "I'm okay but how's my hair?" she asked immediately. "Show me. I'm ready for revenge." she cracked her knuckles. "They deserve it, yes." Ah, there was a gnome right there! Leah ran straight at it, determined to do it this time.

“You are going for a quick flight.” she mumbled at the gnome, before beginning to spin it around.

And around... and around....

You spin me right round, baby, right round...

IT WAS VERY HARD TO AIM WHEN YOU WERE SPINNING.

...

She let the gnome free and it fleeeeeeeeew across the garden and... eep. Bounced off the top of the fence. It still went in the pen though, so Derry was going to count that as a success. Cue celebratory fistbump.

THIS GAME, I LIKE IT, ANOTHER.

Angel had just seen one, it actually looked like the one that bit her but then saying that they all did, she stopped it gentle with her foot, resisting the urge to kick it into the field like she was playing rugby, she then picked it up and started to say. "round and round we go, were we stop no one knows." Angel then threw it as far as she could the poor thing would be seeing stars for ages, saying that she was feeling a bit dizzy after that throw. Gnome gnome gnome gnome...

Derry scanned the ground for another gnome... AHA!

.....

It was running pretty fast, but Derry was faster. She grabbed her wand and pointed it at the gnome, "Petrificus Totalus!" ... HA! The Gnome froze, and Derry grabbed it's foot tight in one hand before lifting the spell.

EEP! It wriggled a LOT. Psh! .. She shoved her wand back into her robes and grabbed the other leg. There. HA. NO GETTING FREE FOR YOU! She got her footing quickly and readied herself to spin...

Jasmine watched as the gnome stopped struggling against her foot, frozen by the spell. "That was too easy", she thought to herself. Next time she wouldn't use a spell unless it was absolutely necessary. Bending over, she picked up the gnome by his frozen little legs. It almost seemed unfair to toss him when he wasn't able to put up a proper fight.

Oh well.... Making sure that she had a good grip on him, Jasmine began to swing him around in a circle. She was certainly glad that her dance training had made her somewhat immune to dizziness from spinning. After swinging him around several times, Jasmine let the gnome go and watched him fly. He landed just beyond the fence and she made a mental note to swing harder next time.

De- gnoming time! Adi promptly looked around for his first victim and much to his amusement, there was one already lurking by his feet, grinning mischievously up at him. Adi made a lunge for its arms but it dodged to the right.

"I'll get you, gnome!'' Oh yes, he will. The gnome was running now into a patch of his classmates. Adi quickly ran after it, trying to keep out of the gnome's sight. The gnome cleared the students but Adi was waiting. He stuck out his foot. Gnome down, gnome down!

The second year cornered the second gnome she found and picked it up by the ankles. It was begging her to let go but she was not going to give up this time. Holding onto the gnome, she stepped off to the side to watch Angel de-gnome. She was good. Smiling, Leah spun and spun and spun with the gnome before throwing it with all her might. Huh, it went out of the fence. Take that for ruining her hair.

But this gnome was a fiesty one for it sprang up onto its feet again, laughing at Adi. The boy glared at it as it took off running again. This time Adi was sort of prepared. He only chased the gnome for a few dozen paces before he was able to cut it off by running off at a wider distance and sticking out his foot.

Gotcha! Adi hurriedly grabbed the gnome by it's feet and raised his arms above his head. Time to make this little fellow dizzy! Round and round and round the gnome went, slowly at first as Adi needed some time to get used to the swinging. When he was comfortable with the swinging motion, he picked up speed and after about a minute or so he released the gnome.

Thomspon did look pretty suave acting like nothing happened when the ugly gnome ran at his legs. But when doesn't he. That is the million galleon question. Now he was taking a little fun out of it. Couldn't they use brute force on one. It would be fun.

Alright he understood what to do and the no punting part. Though it was very tempting. Ooo extra points for the most gnomes throwing. Sounded like a gnome throwing Olympics right now.

Pretty Awesome.

Let get to it. Nigel wander around with his pink gloves. Totally pulling it off and stopped a running gnome with his foot. "Alright, Levicorpus" And look at that all the work done of him already. He moved closer and took hold of the gnomes feet.

"Amazing!" Angel beamed as she watched Leah's gnome go over the fence. "Hey watch this" Angel grabbed hold of another gnome after stopping it with her foot and picked it up. "FOUR!!!!!!" Angel screamed as she span around with the gnome and then launched it one.

Angel giggled as she stood like a golfer did after hitting a shot and searched for the gnome, it had gone far, she was sure the poor little thing would be shocked with how far it had gone.

Jasmine set off in search of her next gnome and it didn't take long for her to find one. This one was apparently feisty because he had that "I know you don't think you're going to catch me" look on his potato face. Jasmine took two steps forward and he took off running. As she began to run, she didn't think it should be too hard to catch up to the gnome. After all, her legs were about a million times longer than his. Catching up to him was one thing, catching him was another thing entirely.

The gnome zigged and zagged, dipped and dodged trying to get away from Jasmine. Just when she thought she had him, reaching down to grab his little legs, he escaped. Well she had asked for more of a challenge and this little critter was certainly giving her one.

Zahra wasn't so sure this was the best way to degnome. What was this foot thing? Why couldn't she wrestle one to the ground again? She was determined to be GOOD though... and after running down ANOTHER gnome, Zahra stepped on his head, picked him up and WAS ABOUT TO SPIN AND LAUNCH....

But look! Hark! A FELLOW GRYFFINDOR IN TROUBLE.

"LIKE THIS, KID!" Zahra, with one gnome biting, lashing, and screeching in her hand, went to show baby Gryff HOW ITS DONE. She STEPPED ON THAT GNOME'S HEAD, TOO.

It was harder to pick this one up though. And Zahra thought about letting the baby Gryff come pick it up while she stood on its head, but then a BETTER idea of TWO GNOMES AT ONCE hit her.

So that's how Zahra ended up with a GNOME IN EACH HAND, SPINNING WILDLY like a pinwheel. VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Whoaaa. That was a short lesson. It wasn't over yet, but Sophie had hoped to learn a little more about the gnomes themselves before getting right to work. Sure, there had been that whole 'what do you know about gnomes' question, but there was nothing like the professor's expert opinion on things.

Ahhh, well.

She listened carefully to the instructions then glanced over at the area full of little gnomes, ready to sink their little teeth into everybody's legs. Well, time to get started. No sense in waiting. With that, she jogged right into the little area and began looking from left to right and in front and behind her for a little gnome.

"Oh little gnome it is so on", Jasmine thought. Rethinking her strategy, she stopped running. Jasmine knew that gnomes weren't supposed to be very smart. She was no expert on garden gnome behavior, but this one seemed to be enjoying the chase. When she stopped running, so did the gnome. Apparantly he decided to change his strategy too because now he was heading straight for Jasmine. She let him come and when he got close enough, she used her foot to stop his progress.

She had to move quickly because Mr. Gnome was trying very hard to bite at her foot and ankle. Again he tried to slip away, but this time Jasmine managed to catch him by one ankle before he escaped. It was a good thing she had on her gloves because Jasmine could feel him struggling to get at her hands. Shifting her grip she held him upside down and as far away from her body as possible. Now it was time to swing.

Well the gnomes was not biting him that was a plus. But it was in the middle of be spun around until dizzy. So there is that. Nigel spun it around just one more time because anymore and he would get dizzy and then the gnome could go anywhere like Mo's. Awesome, but not what he happened to do this lesson.

And off it went into the pen thing. It made some lift. But did not go very far. Impressive for The Seventh Year because he was not the strongest person in the world.

Let's try to get it farther next time and maybe a different spell. Doing it purely without magic was too much effort.

That....sounded a lot more difficult than how her dad had described it. Olly herself hadn't actually had to degnome a garden yet, seeing as she lived in a Muggle neighborhood. And Muggles wouldn't take too nicely to getting a garden gnome thrown in the face. Though there were quite a few of her neighbors who WOULD deserve a gnome in the face.

One in particular.

Buuuut they were doing this now, and had it not been for the fact that Olly was in good mood she was pretty sure she would have left. There surely were people who were trained in degnoming gardens. Like pest control or something. Plus, Thompson hadn't suggested they do it in pairs. Almost every prof wanted them to pair up but not him. Why not? This was even more annoying.

Olly was going to do this though. Yes. Okay. After a quick smirk to Schuyler she walked off, paying close attention to the grass.

Was that...ITMOVEDYESOKAYSHECOULDDOTHIS!

She, as silently as possible, moved so she could catch the gnome off guard. Which did not entirely go as planned. But at least it was running TOWARDS her. Taking a deep breath she squinted slightly to keep he eyes focused on the gnome and then....in the last possible second....put out her shoe so it ran into it. Face first. Clever little things those gnomes were, huh?

Only not.

Bay was going to have a lot of fun, trying to find some gnomes and spin them around to get them dizzy and throw them over the bushes.. So far this year at Hogwarts was way better then the last, well besides the Quidditch thing but what could he do peoples lives were at risk.

Hunting around the garden he tried to catch some but these little things were so fast, they would duck into holes to fast for Bay to bend down to grab. "ughhhh" he scratched his head, maybe this was going to be tougher than he though.

He saw one over by a tree and he ran for it but as soon as he got there the little creature had managed to get away.

FLIPPING. GNOME.

"STOP IT." Agahta yelled a command, but the creature clearly ignored her and kept kicking and waving its arms around. Stupid thing! "STOP!" Agatha struggled to get a hold of it, but once someone started belting out some sort of song, both her and the gnome looked in their general direction. When Agatha felt the flailage had stopped and she took the chance to properly grab the gnome's feet and she got up at once.

"There." In your face, silly gnome. She was smarter than you. Hmph.

Now was time to spin around then. Like a ballerina. She could totally do it, of course. And gracefully as well, because she was an actual ballerina, and a lady, of course. Was everyone watching?

Agatha flipped her hair before spinning.... and spinning... and spinning. Whenever she did ballet, though, her hair was always in a beautiful bun, but now her hair was down and it was getting in her way. Her ballet technique to not get dizzy wasn't being very helpful at the moment because of her hair! So after a few spins, Agatha was feeling VERY annoyed and she ended up letting go of the silly gnome maybe a bit too soon.

And the creature hit the fence and didn't go over it.

A GNOME!!!

No, Sophie was not that excited over the gnome itself. She'd had to do this, minus the spell-casting, plenty of times in her mother's garden. She was excited, because she'd finally caught sight of a gnome that looked to be out in the wide open. She liked them best like that--easy to be caught.

At first, Sophie made the mistake of being so excited that she charged toward it. Of course, she startled it, and it took off running in the opposite direction. Not good, gnome. Not good.

She followed it with her eyesight, though, and pretty soon, she saw that it had re-entered the area on the opposite side of the garden. She headed in that direction to corner it once again.

Jasmine began to swing the gnome in a wide circle. She felt like the hammer thrower in the muggle track meets that she used to attend with her brother. Around and around she went, resisting the urge to let out a loud hammer throwing scream as she released the gnome. This time Jasmine's aim was better as the gnome sailed well over the fence. The fact that she had to work for this one gave Jasmine much more satisfaction. She found gnome tossing to be oddly therapeutic especially since she knew that they weren't harmed in any way. Maybe on a day she was feeling particularly stressed, she could volunteer to de-gnome the garden. Hmmm, that was a thought. Having met her gnome quota, Jasmine was ready for the bonus round. Spotting her next gnome victim, Jasmine began to stalk him.

Stealth. Stealth was key!

Ethan got both of his hands in front of him as he spotted a gnome, whose backside was facing him. The Slytherin got a huge grin on his face and was about to grab the gnome by its leg when he stepped on a twig, alerting his prey. The gnome turned around and began to run towards Ethan. He would have stuck his foot out, but since he was crouching, he instead got his hand out and got hold of the gnome’s potato head.

“You will try!” Ethan said out loud as the gnome started jogging in place and flailed its arms trying to reach Ethan. The boy could swear that the gnome was telling him to get his hands off it. “Eh…not gonna happen mate.” Ethan grabbed its leg as he stood up and pointed at the gnome which was now upside down. “You are not to go back! Is that understood?” Obviously, the gnome didn’t understand a word he said.

The Slytherin spun around a couple of times and threw the gnome across. Ethan cupped his ear dramatically until he heard a dull thud.

Ethan – 3 , Gnomes – 0.
