Another cold day in the castle has come and you'll find that the Charms classroom is no exception. You can see your breath and you're probably shivering, but today's lesson will certainly (hopefully) help against that. Despite the frost and snow on the windows and the icicles hanging from various places, your professor is still in a somewhat good mood.
Professor Fuller is standing, leaning against his desk at the front of the classroom, bundled up in a coat and gloves, waiting for you all to arrive. So come on in and take a seat, so we can begin!
Class has now started! If you are just arriving, just pretend your character has been here all along. Feel free to discuss!

It was impossibly cold in the Charms classroom, even though Mo had hoped desperately that the professor would be employing some serious warming charms on the space. At least he hadn't pinned too many hopes on it, and he showed up for class wearing more layers than he would have thought humanly possible. In fact, his arms were a little hard to bend due to all the cloth.
He took a seat near Nigel and gave the prefect a cheery nod. "Good day, Professor. Need help with some warming charms?"
As Kace made his way to the Charms classroom, he realized it was soo cold. He could see his breath puffs. Man it was sooo cold. He warmed up his hands. Good thing he brought his gloves. He even looked up and saw icicles. He shivered and cuddled closer to his robes. He saw Lux was here and Marigold. He smiled to both of them. Then he saw the professor and asked, "Hello Professor, I trust you are well?"
He took a seat and waited for the professor to give him instructions. He still tried to keep warm.

AJ was having a super hard time understanding why it was so cold at a MAGICAL school. Couldn't they just magic the very annoying cold and snow away? It seemed like a simple enough task. It wasn't like she was asking for much. Nothing that the first year wore kept her warm enough, and the usually chipped lion was starting to become grumpy. She seriously thought about just staying rolled up in a blanket taco in bed.
Walking in she noticed that the professor seemed to be in a good mood. Did he realize how cold it was? "Hello professor," was all she could manage before her teeth started chattering. AJ spotted Ian right away and with her hands in both pockets, she headed over to take a seat by him. She noticed Benny and Adi were close by so they both got nods. She was NOT taking her hands out of her pockets until it was absolutely necessary.
Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when
Samantha's teeth chattered as she entered the Charms classroom. The thick gloves she was wearing didn't seem to do much in the way of keeping her hands warm. The cold weather was starting to annoy her but she tried to focus on other things.
She smiled and at the Professor with a "Hello, Professor" and made her way towards an desk in the middle of the classroom.
She felt like a penguin waddling around in layers. Beverly Wayne was COLD and she wasn't going to risk freezing, so besides using charms she bundled herself in several layers. She didn't like that either. The less the layers, the faster she moved. Not like a penguin. Bah!
Entering the classroom and finding a seat near the front, she dropped her bag and stripped of several layers. Ahh. There. She could move some now.

The electric Snuggie was back, along with the ski outfit from earlier in the year. This was the only way Layla could make herself get out of bed and make the trek up to the third floor for Charms class today. At least it wasn't snowing though, right? That incident still kind of freaked her out, especially since Hogwarts was apparently such an old castle. Was it finally starting to show the first signs of crumbling? If that was it, then hopefully it would at least hold together until she graduated, because she was not sleeping outside.
Anyway, Layla entered the classroom and took a seat, greeting the professor. "Hello, professor." Please be teaching an insulation charm.

It was cold. Unbearably cold. Mitchell felt like a Mitch-sicle. Shiver. He shuffled into the classroom all bundled up. He attempted to greet the professor, but that required energy that he did not have.
Hi girlfriend.
... that didn't come out out loud either. Meh. Maybe he could say hi with his eyes? Hi? Was it working?
... and effort. He was done. He'd just sit and freeze. That was a plan. He flopped not so gracefully into a chair and went immediately back to shivering.

............. WHY in the name of Merlin was Jun wearing a ONESIE?!
It was clear that classes required MORE than just the regular robes for keeping oneself from the fate of turning into a human icicle, so Dima had done what was necessary. Layering up on jumpers and pants and socks was what it took? Then so be it. Kid was PREPARED.

When Lucy walked into the Charms classroom it was very cold..
She closed her cloak and she wore her gloves..
She smiled at her professor and her classmates and she said:" Hello everyone!"
Angel walked into the room and smiled. "Hello Professor." Angel couldn't wait to find out what they would be learning today, though she hoped it would be how to make the castle warmer, maybe candles or something would be amazing.

As the students started to file in, Piers nodded at each of them, greeting them all with a "hello" or a "good morning" or something of the sort. Even to those who didn't greet him. All greetings were fairly simple, except for those who had more to say;

They were probably only having class still so Fuller could show off more of his hair.
Skipping into class he looked around before strategically taking a seat beside his sidekick. Just incase any cold ones broke into the class, Kyroh would push Zander to attack them first. "Professor if I start not feeling my toes can I go back to my common room?" Also, HI BODDIE and Toby! They got a wave.
Ha. "I'd think you'd want to go to the hospital wing, no?" That wasn't giving him permission to leave class, just a speculation. He was fairly certain there were quite a few students who couldn't feel their toes at the moment.

Now all her energy was spent trying to find the right dungeon corridor to blow a giant hole through to start the tunneling process. They would NOT stay here. It was not an option, OKAY???
"Alright if I keep this, Sir?" She asked, gesturing to the blanket she'd walked in wrapped around her shoulder in. The corridors were freezing. She didn't reckon it was as bad as outside but this was her little solace. Hot air charm contained under the blanket made for a warm walk to class.
If it wasn't she'd stuff it in her bag and be done with but she'd ask first just in case.
"Also, hello." Because of manners and all.
Bundling up in a blanket was a smart idea. In fact, Fuller almost wished he had done the same thing. "That's just fine," he responded with a nod. Didn't want anybody to freeze.

Maybe he was being cool to cancel out the cool air in here. Would be awesome if it worked. But sadly, that was not possible.

....... "Hi."
After the students had arrived and it was time to start class, Fuller shut the door, pointed his wand at the giant fireplace beside his desk and started a roaring fire going to hopefully help the temperature in the classroom rise.
"Good morning all," he said loudly for all to hear and cut their chatter down to a stop. "Due to the weather and the impending need to not freeze, I have altered my lesson plan to assist our current living situation a bit better." Hopefully they were okay with that, unless they really wanted to get frostbite in their sleep.
"As you all, I'm sure, have noticed, not only is it freezing outside, it's freezing inside as well. In fact, it has actually started snowing in some places of the castle." Fuller walked back over to his desk, leaning against it again and rubbing his gloved hands together to keep them warm. "Today we will be learning a simple charm that will help keep the cold outside of the castle, but first I want to discuss what you have been doing so far to keep warm. I see lots of blankets and thick coats of course, but what charms or magical items have you been using?" Just a quick discussion to get their brains on the right track.

Ian noticed the professor go to close the door. He was ready to start the class. Sitting for too long in this chilly environment wasn't too much fun. He raised his hand to offer and answer for the question. Professor, I've just used something I got from me mum. It's not terribly magical. It is handwarmers you can purchase from a outdoors store. You just break a package and get some warmth for a few hours or so. I hadn't even thought to use magic.

Simon nodded as he listened to Fuller explain how it had started snowing in parts of the school. Yes, snow was happening INSIDE the school and Peeves wasn't helping. Peeves had dumped a lot of snow on Simon the other day, leaving the boy even more frigid in the freezing school. He rubbed his gloves together too, trying to keep them warm and then pulled out his notebook. Now what had he been using to keep warm? Ah! The charm that Professor Bentley told them to use on the plants. "I've been using a Hot Air Charm. Professor Bentley taught some of us that in a workshop to use on the plants but I figured why not use it on ourselves to keep warm," explained Simon with a grin. But the charm hadn't proven to be so useful as now it only lasted for a little bit and then disappeared.

Head up, hand up. "Been using the Hot Air Charm Professor Bentley taught us, 'fessor. It was during her workshop a few months back." Well, that's the only charm he knows to keep him warm without setting himself on fire. He also did an experiment a few days back, but had a little bit of difficulty getting it the first time.
Anyway, Ethan crossed his arms and leaned back on his chair as he waited for the others to answer. They really could use some muggle heating system right now.

Awesome, they were going to address the issue the the cold temperatures. Lux so knew that Fuller would have something helpful up his sleeve. Of course his spell wouldn't solve the problem in itself, but it would at least make things more bearable in the meantime. Raising her hand to answer the question, she said, "Professor Bentley taught us Ventus. I've been using that a lot." such a useful hot air spell that was.

Jasmine was extremely glad that class was starting. Maybe they would get to move around and that would help them to get warmer. Although she didn't particularly want to run laps like they had done in Astronomy, a little bit of movement wouldn't hurt.
When Professor Fuller said that they'd be learning something to help keep the cold out, he had Jasmine's full attention. Listening to his question, she raised her hand to give her response. "Like everyone else, I've been using the Hot-Air charm..........that and a ridiculous amount of clothing layers."

She entered and sat silently with only one thought on her mind. Those were the LAST lessons she was going to attend in Hogwarts. That was kinda consuming her until she willed herself to snap out of it and pay attention before being kicked out because of zoning off would be linked with that memory. But nah, professor Fuller wouldn't do that. The man was way cooler and nicer.
SO! What were they talking about? The cold, yup, made sense.
"Lots of blankets, heating charm, hot beverages," Taking over the spots nearest to the fireplace because she could. Better not to mention that.

'Sup nod for you, Dragon Boy. What's with the look? Did he want something? Bertie Botts beans? Hot chocolate? See, Grayson wouldn't say no to hot chocolate either. It would be a good way to keep warm in these ridiculously cold temperatures.
Which, apparently, was the topic of discussion today.
How did he manage to keep himself warm? "Hot Air Charm, like everyone else said," Thank Merlin for Professor Bentley. "Apart from that, hot chocolate works like a charm. Or sitting by the fireplace. Or wearing really thick," And, not to mention, embarrassing "jumpers that I'd normally refuse to wear." But those weren't spells or any magical means of keeping warm.

Ah. The great feel of fire. AH. That was MUCH better, but still it was FREEZING and a little fire couldn't change that. Nope. The impending need to not freeze? Did that mean that she was planning on taking them outside again!? Because these Professors were going insane. Good thing they couldn't actually get outside. That would have been bad. Very bad.
As for the question, everyone else seemed to do a good job talking about the hot air charm. The hot air charm that Beautiful Bentley had taught them how to use. AH. Bentley. What a wonderful, beautiful, kind, charming, perfect-- AHEM. No. No, not this again. Uh. Yeah, so everyone else did a good job talking about that so... This Gryffindor would just focus on generating heat? Yeah?

Much appreciated Professor. Seriously. After the walk down here wrapped and snug in this thing she didn't think she'd have had the will power necessary to remove it and face the cold that was the rest of the environment. Admittedly this had to be the best idea she'd thought up all day. One she'd have to employ when heading to her other classes.
Lex took her seat and pulled her feet up so they could have some of the warmth too. It wasn't fair boys got to wear pants while they were stuck in skirts. How did one keep warm in a SKIRT?? The dresscode needed revision, evidently.
"Extra fabric, heating charms and snuggles from my kneazle."That was how she was keeping warm. Felix was lucky too, he had thick fur and no classes so he could spend his day by the fireplace until she collected him for them to find something to do. The life of a kneazle was so simple. So appealing right about now.
Was she the only one who noticed?

Hospital Wing? If he couldn't feel his toes?....."ALRIGHT then! Thank you Professor." Because he took THAT answer as a 'yes Kyroh you are allowed to leave the class'.
Anyways, charms or magically items? He had been wearing extra clothes yeah, but those weren't magic or anything. The first year raised his hand. "Staying in my dorm room because it's actually warm in there." WARMTH. Also, "I've used the Bluebell Flames Charm." Once or twice. It helped. Dorm room idea helped more though.

Noticing Marigold nodding in his direction, Adi grinned back at her just as his best friend decided to join him. "Hi,'' he said, wondering why Benny had forgotten his manners today. Not much time to wonder though for class was starting.
So, besides the mundane what did he do to keep warm? Just about what everyone else was saying. Adi raised his hand. "Pretty much the same as everyone, Professor. The Hot Air Charm.'' He was grateful to Bentley for showing them that one. Who knew it would have come in so handy?

It was sooo cold. Merlin, it was an unbearable cold that she was not used to at all. Was there every going to be an end to this? Sitting bundled in her multiple layers of clothes, Josie sat shivering in her desk as she waited for class to start. Maybe she had another pair of gloves in her bag she could put on? As she was about to search through her things, class already started, so the second year wouldn't get the chance to look, at least not now.
Her attention was on Professor Fuller as she had begun to address the class. And her first question for the class was to know what everyone had been using to keep warm. Come to think of it, she actually hadn't really thought of any charm or spells for some reason, probably because she couldn't think of any that might have helped her. BUT, that was probably going to change after this lesson, now that she was hearing what everyone else had been using. Nonetheless, she knew she at least could tell her what she'd been doing. Taking a second to lower her scarf from covering half of her face, she replied with, "I-I hadn't thought of what c-charms that c-could help..w-without burning d-down the castle..B-But I'd g-grown accustomed to bun-bundling with lots of blankets & my c-cat..Sebastian.." Although, snuggling with Sebastian just meant him sleeping on her head, he at least managed to keep her head warm like a nice fluffy winter hat.
