Jasmine and Norah. Post 2: SPOILER!!: Jasmine As promised, Criss proceeded to place the bridle on the Abraxan. Even though he was already familiar with doing this task at home along with the casting of the spell, he still had paid attention when Professor Thompson proceeded to demonstrate how he would do it. Picking up the bridle provided, Cris unholstered his wand, and slowly approached the Abraxan they would be riding with. Recalling the steps, Cris hovered his wand right over the side of the Abraxan's face and began drawing a line straight from under the horse's ears all the way down to the corners of it's mouth and said, "Fixate" Woosh! the bridle was up and over the head. "If both you ladies are ready, this fella and I are," Cris grinned as he stood next to the horse. "So who's going to be the driver and who's going to be the Supreme Protector?" Cris asked inquiringly to which Jasmine said she would be the driver. Cris turned to look down at Norah before smiling down at her. "Norah would you mind, we were both protectors? Remember the Reductor curse we learned in DADA class? You can help blast away the obstacles with that spell. Just be careful alright. Don't fall out of the carriage," Cris smiled down at the younger girl. "If everyone agrees. Hop onboard," Cris walked over to the carriage and opened the door for Norah, before giving Jasmine a hand-up too. |

Alexa leaned forward as the carriage began to move, nothing so far but then they weren't going all that fast to begin with. Did this horse know how to sprint? Did it know they were in a race they were trying to win? "Get him to put some pep in his step, did you see Thompson zoom off like that? He's got the righ idea." Clearly he did. The idea of winning. The extra points weren't so much her fascination, nah, they were just there. It was the WINNING. The Gryffindor happened to like it, go figure. While they trotted on she kept her eyes peeled for anything that might mess them up, though at this speed she didn't figure much harm could come to them. "You think the snow will be enchanted? Give us something to do outside of perfecting our aim?" |
Post 1: Bridle, Horse Picking, And Job Assiging Quote:
"So Candice, control of reigns and or protector?" She was down for which ever so the decision was going to be left to her. "Lets do an Aethonan!" She liked that name the best. While Candice was deciding which one she looked at the different types of winged horses. She turned back to Candice and smiled, so horse picked and bridle picked up now all they needed was jobs chosen and bridle on the horse. |

Candice turned her attention back to her partner. Oh Arista was going to let her decided? Cool. "I want to be the protector." Blasting away the the piles of snow sounds FUN! And she was good with blasting thing. "You okay to be the controller?" She hoped that Arisata was okay with that. "Aethonan? Yeah sure." |
Toby! Well, and she thought they weren't going to race. Pffft, they so were. Did everyone else knew? How come she missed that. But really it was obvious now that she thought about it, horses and pairs. One to steer the horse and another to take care of the obstacles. Which she didn't like the sound of but apparently they were balls of snow, sounded harmless and not that bad. Looking over to the closest horse, Cassia squinted at it for a sec. Granian, this one was. "This one looks decent, no?" She said turning to Toby. Or did he prefer another one, she'd be totes okay with that. "So, who's gonna do what? " She asked while trying to decide which part she preferred. And the problem was that both parts seemed fun. Well, it wasn't really a problem, quite the opposite but in choice making that might be a bit hard. "I don't really mind either," she said patting the Granian carefully. Pity they couldn't fly them. |
Post 1 Angel looked at Aubrey to see what her expression would be they were sort of ridding the horse, well okay they weren't riding, riding but they were going to be in a race, now though which of the two of them was the best blaster and which of the two of them would be the best driver. Angel looked her sister up and down. "Hey sis, your into all the boy stuff, you ever been go-karting or anything like that?" Angel thought if she had then it would give them an advantage, she had been a couple of times with a few friends but well she didn't do very good but at least she had practice, plus she had been horse riding when she was younger but she also knew her sister had been as well because they had gone together for a few years. "We need to decided who's doing what." Angel looked at her sister. "If we can't decided, I'd say lets do rock, paper and scissor." Angel giggled it was one way of deciding though it wasn't very tactical thinking doing that she hoped that they could work to their strengths. "Or we could do what we did in Primary School, eeny, meeny, miny mo" Angel giggled she used to love doing that at school. |

They definitely had energy to their advantage, as she’d found herself using every inch of her long legs to keep up with Ethan as he’d gone over and claimed one of the Granians for themselves. She’d smiled a little at the slightly uncreative name, anyway, reaching out to stroke the animal’s nose lightly as he’d kept talking. “I’m sure you’ll warm up when you’re allowed to start running,” she murmured to the horse, now apparently dubbed Gray, smiling again as it had nickered a little. It was almost like it was responding, hopefully to the affirmative. She’d glanced back over at Ethan as his comments had been directed toward her again, anyway, continuing to pet the horse as she’d listened. “Of course. Just make sure that you can handle the reins, because we want Gray to really use his speed,” she replied. They wanted to win. If that meant she had to blast snow out of their way, she’d do that. She’d had to pull her hand away from the Granian’s nose quickly as he’d gone on to cast the Placement charm. She wasn’t planning on doing the blasting while attached to the horse’s nose, after all, but she’d given Gray another stroke after the bridle had been placed. “Okay now. Just another minute or so and then you’ll be able to move,” she whispered, before going over to the carriage and Ethan. “Yep. Did you want to get in first, or should I?” She’d be fine with them both jumping in at the same time, if he’d rather. It would save time, and they’d get going sooner. Mo and Lex had already started moving, so that meant they needed to as well. |
post 1 Lucy turned at Josette and said:" We have to ride the winged horses.. Do you prefer to be the protector or the controller?" |
Securing bridle Ah crud! Adi was hoping they could at least get to fly their Winged Horse once. Well, he'd just have to made do with going for a ride with them while he was in a carriage. And Professor Thompson looked mighty funny there, petting air. But Adi knew it was the Thestral. He turned to Benny. "Abraxan?'' he asked excitedly. Not really waiting for an answer from his friend because he knew the boy wouldn't mind, Adi bounded off towards one of the powerful winged creatures. He approached the chosen Abraxan. He had never seen one this close before and it was awesome! The Hufflepuff gently patted the horse's side before rubbing its side. Now he could use the charm right? Wand in hand, he began doing just as Thompson had demonstrated- from under the ears to the corners of the Abraxan's mouth. "Fixate!'' And just like that, the bridle was secured. "Come on, Benny! Let's climb in! Oh and you can steer if that's okay with you.'' Adi wouldn't mind switching if Benny wanted to. |
Getting ready Quote:
Adi had already gotten the bridle on, the abraxan set up for their part of the race. "Fine by me," Benny said, approaching the flying horse and giving it a polite rub of his own before climbing up into the carriage and taking the reins securely. Like directing a broom....right? "Ready?" he asked, waiting for the Hufflepuff to get aboard as well. Then they would be off. |
Post 2 (First obstacle) SPOILER!!: Benny "I'm all set.'' ................... Right! And they were off! Adi kept a sharp eye out in front of him looking for obstacles aka piles of snow. So far though he had seen none as they rode on. Benny was doing an excellent job controlling the reins. Adi decided he'd better do just a good of a job and get snow out of their way. Speaking of snow...the Hufflepuff could see something looming just ahead. It was kind of difficult to see given that practically everything them was white. Squinting, he realised it was indeed a pile of snow at least five feet high and it was directly in their path! Wasting no time, Adi raised his wand. "Reducto!'' He make that familiar sideways V movement with his wand. He watched with a grin as the snow disintegrated. First obstacle cleared. |
Post 2 SPOILER!!: Adi That was his cue, the Gryffindor snapping the reins and sending them off onto the path they would go and whatever lay ahead . ------------------------------------ Their abraxan was pulling them along rather well, the third year giving the flying horse a decent amount of freedom. Still he had some control in case it was needed. Soon enough there was a huge pile of snow in their way and Benny slowed them a little to allow a reaction. However there had been no way to guide the abraxan around it so he was glad when Adi took action and blasted it away. The team bumping slightly in the carriage as he picked up speed again and they rolled over the remnants of the snow pile. |

Ethan may have jumped a little in excitement and stepped back to let Lily step in the carriage. Race or not, there was no way he’d forget his manners, hmmkay? Mordred taught him that, and he’d slap himself if ever he forgot. “After you, Miss Lily.” As soon as his partner was settled, Ethan sat beside her and got hold of Gray’s reins. Mad grinning was happening, and he can’t help but fidget a little in his seat. Looking at his left and right, he saw that Mo and Lex got to go first, followed by Adi and Ben. Hey guys! Hi! ‘Sup? The waving and greeting will come after…when they reach the finish line first. “HOLD ON TIGHT!” Ethan yanked the reins hard and Gray immediately sprang into action! No warm ups for this dude! The Slytherin could swear that if they were riding a normal horse, it’d look like it was trotting…like a light jog if it were a human being. That’s not the case however, with Gray. They were already pacing. And because of its speed, they already caught up with the two teams. “Hello fellas!” See? Picking a Granian was the best bet for this task. But…is Lily, ready? “I can see an obstacle up ahead, Lily! Ready when you are!” Ethan held Gray’s reins a little tighter, ready to steer their horse away just in case Lily misses it. All yours, Ravenclaw! |
Post 3 SPOILER!!: Benny Adi thought the unexpected blast would make Benny loose his concentration but he was pleased to see this was not the case. His friend seemed to be an expert at this. "Bye-bye snow pile,'' Adi said as their carriage went over the freshly blasted snow. On they went, with Adi still keeping a sharp lookout. So far, so good. He could see no other mound of snow yet. "Alright there, Benny?'' His friend was as usual rather quiet. The Hufflepuff as usual wanted to talk. Hehe. Anyway... come on out, snow obstacles. Aditya Rehman was waiting for you! |
Bridling the horse Quote:
I think I should be the protector." AJ responded well under pressure and nervous was a feeling that she almost never got. Angel on the other hand wasn't always on her toes and could get flustered easily. "All you have to do is keep us going as fast as possible, I'll do the rest." She didn't want to waste time on who was doing what so she just made the descision for them. "Let's go." AJ came upon the first winged horse that she saw, not really knowing what breed it was or anything. She didn't really care. The only thing on he mind was that she wanted to win. She patted the horse as instructed and looked at her sister to do the same thing AJ shouted "Fixate!" as she moved her wand from under the ear to the corners of his mouth. Perfect. It had even worked on the first try. |

Both sounded like a chore to Nigel. But he would have to do one of them. "I guess i'll put the bridle on the horse. Sounds easy enough" |

Grayson raised his eyebrows. This dude was lucky. LUCKY to be partnering up with someone like him. Didn't he realise that? So he can drop the glare and put on his most charming smile and a grateful nature because he had the privilege of partnering up with someone so great. Uh huh. "Brilliant." Smirk. And he was going to head closer to where the demonstration was going to take place and HOPE that his partner was smart enough to follow. The demonstration wasn't bad. He made mental notes about what to do, and just which instances he could blame his so-called partner in case anything went wrong. As for who'll be the driver and who'll be the protector, well, Grayson wanted to be both. They BOTH sounded like something he could do. Race a horse to victory or protect them from obstacles and whatnot. Though, this raised the question as to whether he trusted this bugger over here with protecting him. Something told him no. Aaaaaaaanyways. "So 'sup." Don't answer that. "We need to choose a horse and, personally, if we want to be the fastest, we should select a Granian." Unless this one had a different idea that was sure to be miles dumber than his one. "And who's doing what? Are you going to protect me with your life or lead us to victory?" |
SNOWBALLZzZzzZ Quote:
The charms professor used his wand to direct snowballs at unsuspecting children as they raced around the lake. Bwahahaaa! Quote:
SNOWBALL AT 12 O'CLOCK!!! Quote:
SNOWBALL HEADED YOUR WAY!! OOC: REMEMBER: You need to make ONE POST bridling the horse and FIVE MORE POSTS (per person) actually racing around the lake, blasting obstacles, and dodging snowballs. Try not to label your posts if you're not actually bridling or racing yet. You won't get points for posts that are just talking to each other. =) |
Post 1 Cris & Norah SPOILER!!: Cris It was time to get things started and Jasmine was nervous. She figured that it was best just to get it over with. Waiting for Norah to get into the carriage first, Jasmine took Cris' hand and climbed aboard after her. What was she thinking, volunteering to drive? Cris was the expert with horses and she was most decidedly........not. The decision was made though and she would have to make the best of it. Jasmine reached for the reins and held them firmly in her hands. Leaning forward she softly addressed the Abraxan. "Hi there handsome. My name is Jasmine and you are my new best friend. I'm kind of new at this so I'm going to need your help. If I ask you to do something and you think it's crazy, do what you think is best. We're going to try and win this race so give it all you've got and I will too." Jasmine smiled when the horse tilted his head as if he understood what she was saying. "Everybody ready?", Jasmine asked her protectors. "Here we go." Jasmine gave the reins a little yank and they were off. Her horse started slowly, but began to pick up speed until he was going at what Jasmine thought was a pretty good speed. They raced along without a problem, but Jasmine knew that it couldn't last for long. She kept her eyes peeled for.......she didn't know what, but she wanted to be ready for anything. |
Post 3 SPOILER!!: Adi and Professor Smooth sailing here, minor adjustment there. Guiding the carriage wasn't too hard even as Benny's grip rested tight on the reins. But then he was a little on edge anyway given the fact they were to be prepared for whatever was next in the grand scheme of things. It was like playing quidditch and always having to be alert of other players and the bludgers while playing your own position. "I'm doing...okay," he answered, making a slight shift off to the side. It was then that he noticed what was coming after them as they raced. "Um...Adi. Gonna need some help." As in...snow ball...heading our way. |
post 2 Quote:
"Okay then I'm ready." Angel beamed as she walked up to the winged horse her sister was patting and did the same as her sister, she was about to say Fixate but her sister got there first which wasn't at all cool. she quickly put the reigns on the wing horse and then looked at her sister. "You ready for this?" Angel beamed. |
Post 2 : Accepting the snowballs too SPOILER!!: Jasmine Cris waited as Jasmine and Norah got onto the carriage before he handed the reins over to Jasmine. Climbing onboard, he sat next to Jasmine and waited for her to coax the Abraxan into a gallop. "I'm ready. Yeehah!" Cris replied as he held on placed his feet firmly on the floor of the carriage and held on tight to the seat he was sitting on, with his fingers. "Straight Ahead, Jasmine," Cris gestured to Jasmine. "Whoa!! WATCH OUT!!" Cris called out desperately in warning when he realized that their path wasn't clear after all. Out of nowhere, they were being bombarded by... Snowballs!! Cris had no problem being pelted by them, but it just made it more hazardous for Abe....yes that was the name he has given the horse...and Jasmine, who handling the reins. Whipping out his wand, Cris waved it in a sideways V formation and let fly the Reductor spell. "Reducto...Reducto," he called out the incantation as he cast the spell at the oncoming snowballs. SPLAT!! Bits of ice, snow and water flew all over the place, some splattering Cris in the process, but all he felt was wet. "We're Clear!" he called out to Jasmine as he continued to keep a close watch out for more obstacles. |
Quote:
AJ settled herself in the carriage and was ready to go. "I'm ready!" So hopefully Angel would go and NOW. That was a race for crying out loud. She had her wand in her hand and started replaying spells in her head. |
Post 4 SPOILER!!: Benny Help? Whereee? Adi hurriedly looked around. Just in time, he spotted it. A snowball. “Reducto!’’ The snowball disintegrated. Whew! Close call. Who threw that anyway? Or had the Professors enchanted snowballs to randomly target the students? “Keep an eye out for more snowballs, Benny.’’ To warn him just in case he missed them, yeah? Adi trained his eyes back ahead. So far they had only encountered one snow obstacle and that wasn’t suiting him at all. He wanted to blast more snow away. Hehe. The carriage rolled on some more and with it came a towering mound of snow! This one was a lot bigger than the first one. It stood maybe about seven feet but it took up a lot more width. Awesome! The Hufflepuff readied his wand. “Reducto!’’ Blue light shot from his wand and rapidly towards the snow. It hit the pile and sent the snow flying. |
post 1-placing the bridle and job deciding! Quote:
The sixth year followed after the kid towards the carriages. He had a point about the Granian, but he wasn't about to admit it, so he kept quiet and went straight to one. "Fixate!" Dec mimicked the motion the professor had done and VOILA! Looks good, horsie, don't you worry. He turned to face his teammate. This was tough. He would be trusting him with his life in both ways, by steering the carriage or by protecting them. In fact, Declan didn't even really trust him at all. Even though his instinct is to be the protector,(like he did in Peru *smug*) he decided on the fact that he didn't want a 13..14? year-old to be driving the carriage. "I think you should be the protector, how 'bout it?" The boy knew how to do that, right? |
