In the library close to the beautiful stained glass windows Mr Kitridge has cleared a section of the floor and pushed back some book cases to allow for a big circle of bean bags in all colours of the rainbow. Around and inside the circle Leo has put up large stone pots that give off light and warmth to fight the grim winter season. Sitting on an orange bean bag, reading an edition of the morning's prophet is Mr Kitridge; with his own copy of 'Fantastic Beast’s and Where to Find them' lying beside him on the floor.
OOC: Welcome! Come on in and take a seat on a bean bag of choice. Keep chatter to a minimum. The meeting will start in approx 15 hours from this post.

Adi was intentionally ignoring her even after she went out of her way to wave hello to him when she entered the library. Talk about rude. AJ was done. There would be no more attempts made on her part. Maybe he wasn't who she thought he was after all. This was no time to be worrying about that though. Aditya Rehman was being pushed to the back of her mind.
"I love the book too professor. I think it is useful because it just doesn't tell you things in a long drawn out way, and there are pictures." Which helped those of them who were visual learners.
Nobody was panicking... well except for the older hufflepuff girl, but something was definitely going on. The professor even commented on it. "The light made me spill my cocoa." Yes, she was still upset about that. "I saw a shadow, and just so you know IF we do get attacked I won't be much help." Pause. "I mean I can smack them with my wand, but that's about it." So if he wanted to teach any jinxes real to her quick it would be appreciated.

As suddenly as he freak out had started, it ended. Okay, now Lux felt silly but that thing had been SCARY. At least no one was making fun of her and Bay wasn't going anywhere. Not sure how to answer Mr. Kitridge's question on how she was doing, she remained silent. Honestly she had no idea how to feel right now after that scare.
"I saw the sparks. AND the shadow." That was what scared her. No one who lived at Hogwarts was outside at the moment as far as she knew, so who was out there? Or, even more ominous: WHAT was out there? It was a blessing that there was a book club meeting to distract her. Raising her hand, she said, "I really like this book. It has nice pictures, helpful tips, and isn't too wordy like some books are." A lot of the textbooks were so BORING and made her want to fall asleep. "I'd say it is my favourite reference book." And just plain fun to read in general.
Fantastic beasts and where to find them eh.. Funny how the other meeting was about magical creatures. Raising his hand he said "sir.. The book it amazing, it gives you pictures and diagrams and most of the good tips as well " nothing wrong with a good old fashion picture book heee heeee heeee.
And that's when the crazy stuff happened.
Okay thank goodness he wasn't the only person who saw the sparks. Moving over towards the awesome librarian. "sir.. I saw the sparks as well "

It was no surprise Mr Kitridge notice the strange happenings too. "I think I saw the outline of someone...''

But onto the professor's question.
He raised his hand and said, "Professor I really like this book. It is quite comical and gives you great advice on how to deal with monsters plus their descriptions. There are some monsters I never encountered before and it is nice to know what they look like." he nodded.

Listening to the student's thoughts about Scamander’s book it was easy to conclude a few things which they could all agree on. Mr Scamander had made an interesting, informative book with great tips on what to do in encountering creatures as well as provide descriptive pictures. Beaming he shared his thoughts with the student’s. "The majority if not all of you find Scamander’s book informative, useful, a great read and the tips are actually handy if you were to happen upon a creature in the wild. Scamander must have had an interesting job when he went out did his discovery and mapping one could say of each creature. Would studying creatures like Scamander did, be a field of work that would interest you all when you graduate from Hogwarts?"
Getting more serious Leo sat up a little straighter as the student’s shared their observations of the sparks outside. That some of them had seen the outline of a person’s shadow too was very alarming. “I think we need to see to that nobody is injured out there. It's alarming that we all saw sparks and that some of you saw even a shadow of a person.”
Glancing over at Nessa he asked. "Professor Glendowner, can you take over the meeting? I really want to go see for my own eyes that nobody is gravely injured out there on the grounds." Standing up Leo looked over at the only senior boy present (Grrr..Meow)."Victor, can you please come with me and search for the person(s) who sent up the sparks on the grounds. They might be in serious trouble."
Not waiting for the boy's response which he hoped would an affirmative Leo pulled out his wand and hastily made his way out of the library. He'd need back up by someone more than just a senior student for all he knew it could be more than one person in trouble. "Expecto Patronum!" he mumbled as his patronus in the form of bald eagle zoomed off in the direction of the charms professor's office.

Was it him or did AJ look a little mad at him. If she was, Adi really didn't know what her problem was. Why did she have to open her mouth that day at the Beech Tree, anyway? Things were much better before that. Thankfully, the Librarian addressed the group again so he was able to focus his attention elsewhere.
"For me, the answer is yes, Mr Kitridge. Since my first year here, I've been interested in creatures. Especially Hippogriffs.'' It was safe to say CoMC was his favourite subject and hence Fantastic Beasts was one of his favourite books. Adi snuck a glance at AJ. She was interested (obsessed?) with Unicorns. But he wasn't sure about other creatures.
The third year watched with interest as Mr Kitridge produced a bald eagle patronus. He wished he could master that spell someday. Anyway, the floor was yours, Professor Glendowner.

wow.. okay Bay wasn't paying attention to anything else.. MR.Kitridge wanted him to go with him to investigate. He looked back at Lux and he hope that his eyes said it all "if i don't come back" she knew he loved her and for all he knew nothing was wrong outside but he was going to the unknown with an adult outside in the cold… storm… yeah he totally followed Mr.Kitridge because who was he to say no. plus he wanted an adventure.
Bay left the room.

It was weird that club stuff was going on amidst the concern of whatever had happened outside, and Sophie tuned out while the group talked about the book, instead focusing her attention on the window and the other group in the library. The other group seemed to be about where they were, and Soph couldn't help but sigh and turn her longing gaze back toward the window- if there really WAS a shadow of someone out there coming toward them, like some of the students claimed, she wanted to go race to the entrance hall and see if she could spy who was running inside and do some investigating. But they were probably well inside by now. Took too long to spring into action.
But eventually, it seemed that they were going to take some action, and Sophie tuned back into the group's antics soon enough to hear Kitridge say he was going to go. WITH a student! That Victor kid! "But I wanna come!" she tried to interject, rising to her feet, but the two were already leaving without so much as a glance to her, and she huffed.
Whatever.
Ignoring the rest of the group, Sophie tossed her book back onto her bean bag, crossed the circle, and stepped out of it to move toward the windows, picking up a mug of hot chocolate as she went. She pressed her nose up against the glass, peering out at the frozen landscape - she pulled away momentarily to sip at the hot chocolate, then peered back out once more - and she planned on staying like that, keeping watch until she could identify that the figures of Kitridge and Bay weren't having more fun than she was.
Nessa beamed and waved at the students who returned her greeting. Such great kids they were! And they see grateful for the snacks, but who wouldn't be? Everyone loved refreshments at a meeting! "Oh, you're welcome! Make sure you tell the elves thank you as well when you see them. They're the ones who made everything." She was fairly clueless around the kitchen, though sandwiches she could probably handle. She knew the elves would do a better job though.
She had just taken a bite of her sandwich when Leo started things off with an introduction. Though she was eating, the History of Magic professor remained attentive. It was polite, not to mention that she was interested. They had some fun things planned! But they didn't get too far in the discussion before she became quite distracted by the light and shadows on the wall. That was.. interesting.
It seemed to be the shadow of a human figure to her and she was just about to get up to look out the window when she turned her attention to Leo again as he spoke. Yes, of course the students saw the same thing, she knew it couldn't be a product of her overactive imagination. But what came next surprised her slightly. "Oh.. um.. alright.. sure," she stammered as Mr. Kitridge handing things over to her. Of course she would want to make sure everything was alright outside, but she wasn't exactly prepared to lead this meeting alone. Even if they did have a fun activity planned for the end that was mostly her idea.
But being quick on her feet was what one of her Improv teachers taught her and she supposed she was up to the task today. "Right.. so.." she glanced over at the young Ravenclaw near the door. They were already very distracted and she couldn't blame them, but she wondered if she could get re-capture their attention. Mr. Kitridge said something about possibly studying creatures later on and she smiled at Adi as he expressed that interest. Anyone else? She looked around the room. Perhaps a little more discussion before the activity..
"Why don't we go around the circle and each of us tell a little bit about a creature we find especially fascinating or frightening.. or even if you've had an unusual experience with one." Perhaps she should start off. "My favorite is the fwooper. I even have a pet one in my office, her name is Ophelia. She's the most beautiful bird. Did you know that fwooper quills are very rare and valued? Every once in a while she will be very generous and give me a few of her feathers. I like to make them into quill gifts for my friends." Ok.. their turn!

Wait, what?
Everything seemed to be calming down, so why was Mr. Kitridge asking Bay to go outside with him? He was supposed to stay inside with her and everyone else where it was safe and not freezing. The look Bay gave her did not help; she knew what it meant. He would be coming back, thank you very much even if she had to go out and get him herself. Or even better! She could come with them!
But no... They were leaving. POUT.
There probably was NOTHING to worry about outside, but still. Instead of answering the questions being asked, Lux joined Sophie in looking out the window while telling herself that nothing bad would happen to Bay or Mr. Kitridge.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Everyone seemed distracted about Bay getting the chance to go check out the strange happenings outside. He grinned in amusement at Sophie and Lux. But by then, Professor Glendower had taken over.
"Well, my favourite are Hippogriffs, Professor,'' Adi said. "Though I'm not entirely sure as to the reason. But I do know one thing that fascinates my is the way they judge humans before letting them get close.''

Whoops. It looked like AJ had missed the librarian's question, but who could blame her when THINGS were happening around her? All she knew for sure was that obviously nobody was going to teach her any jinxes so she would be on her own. AJ didn't even think Adi would help her at this point. Nope. She said that she wasn't thinking about him anymore.
The first year looked over at Sophie and the hufflepuff girl. She was no brain surgeon, but if she had to guess she would say that the puffer was with the older lion by the look on her face, and how she clung to him. The only thing that AJ really cared about was the fact that she wouldn't be going on the adventure with them, and that didn't seem fair. She was low to the ground and could totally bite the attackers ankle while the others blasted them with a spell or something.
Anyways... the cool professor was leading them now and she wanted to participate as much as her mind was somewhere else. At least this was a no brainer for her. "Unicorns!" she exclaimed. "They are so pretty and majestic, and they have a horn." Did she need to say more?
Alright so the History of Magic teacher was taking over. This was pretty nice. He was happy because she gave him snacks. She was cool in his book. He began to munch and drink when the professor was going to leave and check out the sound outside. Bay was going with Kitridge and he knew he didn't need any help. He seemed capable. Now the professor had a question. Kace thought about it and raised his hand after the two previous student's went. "Professor I actually had an encounter with a centaur in the corridor of the courtyard. She seemed lost and scared. But it was cool to see one up close." he nodded. He didn't get too close to her. That would be not a smart move. But he wanted to comment on his favorite creature. "Professor my favorite creature is a Phoenix. It is just a cool majestic creature. It has so much power, I kind of wish I had one.." he grinned.

Stupid windows. They were so cold and foggy.
Frowning, Lux wiped the fog away so that she could get a better view as to what was going on outside. It was hard to see, but she could make out Bay and Mr. Kitridge as they approached the Forbidden Forest. And was that Professor Fuller, Jasmine, and the Head Girl following behind them?
It was nice to see that there were more people assembled now, but that didn't help her feel any less worried. She wanted to go down there even though she knew that Bay wouldn't want her to; that was the only thing that still kept her here. No offence to Mr. Kitridge and Professor Glendower, but she didn't care about this book club meeting anymore. There were more important things going on now. Like her boyfriend going into the forest where creatures like ACROMANTULAS and WEREWOLVES lived. Not to forget that it was FREEZING out there.

Kace was seeing Lux fidget in the book club. He scooted over and hugged her. He felt she needed hugs. "Bay will be okay, he is a tough dude. Don't worry about it.." He smiled and still consoled her. If she needed to cry on his shoulders, she could. He wouldn't mind.

Lux was a little surprised when Kace joined her at the window. The hug made her smile a little even though she was still worried. "I know he is.... but there are things in there like Acromantulas. I want to go out there." If something went wrong, she was not staying in here no matter what Kace told her.
Still staring out the window, she waited to see what would happen next.

Adi noticed Luz's worried face when Kace hugged her and knew instantly why she was worried. Poor girl. He didn't like seeing her like that. "Hey, Lux, don't worry. I'm pretty sure Bay can handle any tough situation. Plus Mr. Kitridge is with him.'' He gave her a reassuring smile.
Lucy said:" Yes for me, Mr Kitridge. It's my first year at Hogwarts, but I love to study the magical creatures.."

Ian had sat in one of the back bags and heard the question as his mind wandered concerning the sparks. He hadn't greeted anyone because he'd hoped to say a few words to Mr. Kitridge but he'd been running behind because of homework. He hoped Mr. Kitridge would be ok. He really liked the librarian. One of his favorite faculty members. He listened to the question and the other students answers and piped up.
I don't know if they exactly fit the category of creatures, though I consider them such, but the Centaurs. Even though they are in the forest and rather stand-offish I find them intriguing. I'm curious why they don't do more with the magical world. They are sentient creatures, and yet they seem to feel they need to be separated from both muggles and magic users.

Awww, now Adi was trying to make her feel better too. He was a really sweet boy. They really ought to hang out more, because Lux liked him a lot. But at the moment she was too wrapped up with the Forbidden Forest situation to dwell on it.
"He's very tough and smart, but there are Acromantulas and other evil creatures in the forest...." Not even wanting to finish that thought, she started to cry. Maybe she was being stupid, but Lux didn't care. That was BAY out there. HER Bay.
"Well, my favourite are Hippogriffs, Professor,'' Adi said. "Though I'm not entirely sure as to the reason. But I do know one thing that fascinates my is the way they judge humans before letting them get close.''
Though she was slightly distracted by the turn of events, Nessa did her best to listen attentively to each student, even though a few of them seemed awfully distracted as well. "Oh they are very interesting, aren't they?" she beamed at Adi for his hippogriff answer. "The are big fans of respect, though it would probably be nice for us to be respectful of all creatures." And people too!

Oooh! Nessa's face lit up at Aubrey's answer. She loved unicorns! "They are beautiful! And I find it very interesting how selective they are in whose company they keep." As in they preferred females to males, which was rude but still interesting. Though she didn't want to say it out loud in those words to hurt and tender feelings.

Nessa nodded, listening to Kace's story and answer. Oh.. that was interesting. "Well, centaurs are technically beings not creatures.." Oh they would be so offended with that implication. "Was that just recent? How strange.. they usually keep to their own kind.." Or at least that's what she thought. She wasn't an expert on that type of thing.

"They are very interesting creatures too," Nessa nodded. Wow, these students certainly were picking creatures that had something fascinating about them. Like the thestral who only presented themselves to a very select group. "Oh.. no.. I can't see them," she said, shaking her head. While it would be great to be able to on one hand, it wouldn't be on the other just because of how you'd be able to see them. And she didn't want to ask the girl if she could.. or anyone present for that matter, it might be too sad.

Oh another interested in centaurs.. Nessa could hardly blame him. "No, not creatures.. beings, actually, but you're right, they are very interesting," she agreed with a nod. "Have you ever come across one?" That was probably unlikely as they did like to seclude themselves away from humans a bit. "Perhaps there is a good reason for that.. it might be fun to ask one." If one ever presented himself around here.

Nessa couldn't help but to let her eyes drift to the window again. Lux seemed very worried about Bay.. they must be close friends. And, even though her friends tried to reassure her, she still looked worried. "Oh.. no.. don't cry," she said, walking over to the girl and placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. "I'm sure evryone will be just fine.. they just need to make sure evryone is alright. They'll be back in no time."
She sort of wished Leo was back here still leading the meeting but she was doing the best she could. Perhaps they should move into the activity. "Why don't we play a little game," she said, looking to the group. "Maybe that will help us get our mind off of things and then they'll be back before we know it."

Sniff. Sniff.
Professor Glendower was being so very nice. It was easy to see why she was Professor Morgan's best friend because they both were such friendly people. But Lux couldn't help crying. Wiping her eyes, she said, "I don't want my boyfriend to be eaten by an Acromantula." That thought made her cry more. She knew there were Acromantulas in the Forbidden Forest because Lucas and Abbi had encountered them last term.
A game? She didn't really want to play a game right now, but everyone else was more than welcome to if they wanted.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Yes, the History of Magic lady had a good point. They should respect all animals. NodNod. But Adi was distracted by Lux. She was crying. He didn't like to see his friend crying. He hoped Bay would be back soon.
A game? Yes! Excellent idea! That would distract everyone and hopefully Lux especially. So, what game are they going to be playing, Professor?
Lux was crying..Lucy was sad to see Lux crying and she tried to distract her..
So Lucy said:" Professor what do you think about of Treasure Hunt?
We have a lot of space!"
"Or we could play Witch color controls!!!"
♥s her SS family l Wifey is MINE | Naughty Niffler l Whittysaur l #awkwardturtle<#
This was stupid. Her standing here crying wasn't going to do any good and she didn't want to play any stupid games. What Lux wanted to do was head out to the forest.
"I can't stay here.... I have to go." Wiping her eyes, she rushed out of the library. She wasn't going to let an Acromantula eat Bay; he was coming back..
Nessa wasn't completely sure a game was going to work. On one hand, a few of the students seemed to think it was a good idea, maybe take their minds off of their worries. But on the other hand, a few of them just seemed far too distracted in their concerns for anything to really get their minds away from them. Still, she would at least attempt, what else could she do?
Professor Glendower gave Lucy a bright smile, though she was fairly confused. What was witch color controls? That was not one she had heard of, but perhaps the girl could teach it to her sometime. "Well, actually, Mr. Kitridge and I had already planned for an activity to do at the end of our meeting before we were.. um, interrupted." That seemed the best word for it. "We thought we'd play a game of charades using the creatures in the book.." She was rather excited at the prospect when they had discussed it and was still willing to play if they wanted to.
Brown eyes snapped to Lux as she heard her words and she watched a moment as she started to head out. Oh no.. no, no, no. She could not let the young girl out in the cold and dark, not unsupervised, and especially when they did not know what was going on out there. "Excuse me for one moment students," Nessa addressed her small group as she got up. "If you need anything, please see Professor Thompson." She gestured towards his group at the other side of the library before she went after Lux, catching up to her just outside of the library.
"Lux!" Nessa called after her. "I cannot let you run out like this! Now I can see that you're worried about Victor, but he is with Mr. Kitridge and I know that he will take good care of him. It will be more dangerous if you go outside in the dark alone and unsupervised." Who knew what could happen to her and she just would not allow it. At least they were in a group.. safety in numbers was important. "I want you to come back inside where we'll all wait together and make sure everything is alright." If she didn't want to play the game, that was fine, but maybe it would help her to not be so worried.

Lux was just outside the library doors when she was stopped by Professor Glendower. The woman was making a lot of sense, but that didn't help Lux feel any better. "But what if an Acromantula gets him?" The Professor was probably right, but ever since she had seen them enter the Forest, she had been scared of those Acromantulas getting Bay.
Wiping her eyes, she resigned to heading back inside. "Am I in trouble?" She wasn't too concerned with whether or not she was right now, but she still didn't want to be on the Professor's bad side. "Do people usually come back from the forest unharmed?" If the chances were good that he wouldn't be hurt, it might help a little.
