Huh...they were not doing balloon animals today. That was a little depressing. He shrugged it off and how the professor was singing to them? It sounded like 99 Red Balloons. He actually knew that song and smirked. But now onto the lesson. Wait...they were going jogging? Well it did seem quite cold in here. He got up and warmed his hands. He was rubbing them together. But as he went with his other classmates, he could barely hear the question. But as he shouted louder he could hear it. He thought about it and said, "THE ATMOSPHERE!" That was the only thing he could think of! I think Grayson was thinking along on the same lines as him. |
First the balloons and now singing. Was this professor some kind of performer? That explanation made quite a lot of sense to Hayden, she thought it was a very logical assessment of all the facts and so she was sticking with it. In his spare time Professor Flamsteed traveled around and performed at different venues such as restaurants and children's birthday parties. He must. What? Now jogging? She had not signed up for that. This was Astronomy not physical education. But Hayden was forced to get out of her chair and start jogging around the room. At least there were so many of them they basically covered the whole room around the outside, and no one could really tell who was the slowest. She jogged at a very slow pace. If the professor wanted her to jog, that was as good as he was going to get. And now there was a question? Oh boy, what didn't she have to do? Hayden had to think about the answer while keeping herself from running into anything while she jogged. She thought she knew it so she said "Weather." But it wasn't very loud, and didn't sound extremely confident. Oh well, it sounded right. They were talking about weather, sort of, so it made sense. Right? Right. Now could they be done running, please? |
There was not one time Adi was never amused in Professor Flamsteed's class. He doubted the man could make a poodle because if he could then he wouldn't be having trouble with the balloon, right? Anyway...Jogging? Sure! At least Adi would be warm. He jumped up from his seat and eagerly took off. Warmth. He needed warmth. As he jogged, the boy pondered on the posed question. Hmm... "A hurricane, Professor.'' It was all he could think of. No, actually he he could think of more stuff but he just wanted to blurt out that answer. Heh. |
Oh, Merlin now he was singing...WHAT HAD HE DOOOOONE?!! After a couple more or so verses, the balloon in the prof's hands went POP! and there was sweeeeeet silenceeeee... Until, he began to talk again. Please, please, please don't say that they'd have to get into balloons this time. No, okay? PHEW. BUT, JOGGGGGGINNGGGG?!!! Nope. Nononononono. He'll just walk...fast or something. Walking like he said he would, (although not fast) Declan thought about the question being asked and shouted out, "PLANETS?? STARS??" |
Mackenzie was up, and jogging but also pulling her jacket and scarf tighter around her. SERIOUSLY AIREY THIS ISN'T COOL ITS COLD!!!! The Gryffindor mentally yelled at her favorite professor, as she continued to jog laps around the room. And what's with the physical education and thinking Pressure, temperature, volume, and density... her brow furrowed as she thought, suddenly she came to a halt as she grinned "WEATHER!!!" and then realized if she didn't continue someone would run into her and she sprinted around the room a few times. |

Oh, class was starting? Looking around to make sure that there were not any more balloons that might pop, Penelope uncovered her ears and crawled out from under the desk. They were jogging laps around the room? Helping her mind think quicker and more efficiently sounded like a good reason to get up and jog. Flamsteed probably had some other astronomy activity related reason for everyone running laps around the room. She got up and started jogging around the room with everyone. Pressure, temperature, volume, and density are the basic ingredients for what? "Weather!" Penelope shouted out her answer as loud as she could so the professor would be able to hear her. Were they going to get any questions that they actually needed to think about? That one seemed too easy. |
Agatha probably smiled a bit wider than planned as she waved at Simon and she told him she was very well, thank you. Airey's balloon popped before they could engage in a proper conversation, which made her turn her attention from her housemate to the teacher. He had some balloon bits on his head. Agatha stared. "Professor, there's something on your head." See, she called him 'professor'. She could do it. She was expecting the lesson to start, but the man was telling them all to get up and jog. Well, Agatha was a very healthy lady, and she was totally up for that. Her uncle Orsy and ballet always made sure she was fit and she could jog for an entire day if she wanted. Mhm. And she was off. Jogging around the room. She should have brought a hair bobble with her... she always forgot to bring them to classes and she had noticed they were needed in many lessons. The Slytherin hoped she would remember it the next time. So her hair was waving behind her as she jogged. Faster than some kids, for that matter. She was totally fit, alright. But she didn't have a clue what professor Flamsteed was going on about when he mentioned all that crazy stuff. And her classmates started to yell answers. Most people were saying weather, so that was probably right. "WEATHER." |
The Professor wanted them to jog? Jasmine supposed that jogging was one way to get warm. Normally she would have been all in, but right now not so much. Dragging herself up from her chair, Jasmine started to slowly run around the classroom. Maybe some endorphins would help her? Then Professor Flamsteed asked a question. Jasmine knew that the answer was weather, but it had already been said several times. She knew that she should just stay quiet, but she didn't. At the risk of being super redundant, Jasmine said, "Weather". .........And still jogging........ |
So he was sitting around with the other students when all of a sudden a large noise came from over near where Professor Airey was. He squinted his eyes and scrunched his nose at the sound of the balloon bursting. Thank Merlin that the balloon was gone. Now he didn't have to get so worried. Well at least the balloon hadn't flown at his face. Phew. A little bit of tension left from his shoulders. Oh good idea. They would keep moving so that they would all stay warm and not freeze their butts off. Simon got to his feet rather energetically. Then Airey joined them and led them on the jog. He asked them to think about what pressure, temperature, volume, and density. He blinked his blue eyes a couple of times and then began to raise his hand. Wait. They could just shout it out. "Weather!" he cried, beaming. Oh yes, he knew that answer and felt very proud because of it. |
Why was he laughing? O_O Had she told a joke without realizing it? Shaking her head in amusement, Lux was glad that he at least was doing well even if he was as odd as ever. But hey, that was part of what made him her favourite Professor. Never change, Airey. On and on the squeaking went until he decided to break into a loud song to drown it out. What a considerate man! AND the song was about RED balloons, which worked because he was playing with a RED balloon! Awesome! Grooving along in her seat, she pouted when there was a loud POPing sound and then a shower of red rubber. Shame, that was. Fortunately she remembered everything that they had learned in the last lesson, so Lux eagerly got to her feet. Exercising was always a good thing, and jogging seemed like an excellent way to warm them all up when it was so cold inside. Making her way around the classroom, she thought of the question that he had asked. Like almost everyone else, she called out, "WEATHER!" Maybe it wasn't creative, but she couldn't think of anything else that it could be. |
Ian grinned as he enjoyed the professor's singing. It was rather an entertaining song. He was excited to see what was up with the class...that was until the professor popped the balloon. It startled him some and he almost dove for the floor. He'd heard the noises like that some on the boat with his dad and usually it meant one of the traps were loose and he was supposed to hit the ground, or deck in this matter. The professor got up and greeted the class as a whole and then something rather unexpected. He told them to get up and run. Ian hadn't really expected a physical lesson and so was wearing his ankle high boots rather than his trainers. This should be interesting...he hoped he didn't get any blisters. Dress socks weren't exactly well suited to athletics. He began shuffling his feet in a semi-joggishness manner not really wanted to build up too much of a sweat. With his thick woolen sweater and robe on...he feared he would pass out. He'd see how long he could maintain this glacial pace. |
AJ just stared at the professor as he wrestled with the balloon. It was a sight to see. She would have offered help as well, but he clearly didn't want any. Before long the balloon popped and Airey seemed to realize that the lesson needed to happen. He wanted them to jog? AJ was all for staying warm by any means necessary so she hopped up and fell in line with everybody else. The lion kept a steady pace in hopes that she wouldn't get tired anytime soon. Then it was question time, and the first thing that came to her mind was blurted out. "Balloons." What was the question again? Errr... Just keep jogging. Maybe he didn't hear her over everybody else's shouts. |
...this was interesting. And PROMISING. Marigold eagerly got up and jogged. It was the promise of further warmth that made her actually run. As for the feeling of running in circles? Not so fun. She accidentally ran into the wall when she raised her hand to answer the question. "Storms?" was her guess. And her shoulder hurt from running into the wall. |
Obviously, Dima was PERFECTLY fine with jogging. The kid was a little ball of energy, and those were made to move. As soon as the professor had given his word, he shot up like he'd just sat on a pin and began circling around the room with his classmates. Wheeeee fun. Hmm. Also those things. Ingredients. Making something. Shouting after a cluster of answers had already been given, Dima tried to make his contribution original. "GAS?" |
A frown crossed her face and she stared at the mess of the red balloon. Obviously he really should have accepted her hand or two because now there was now balloon. But...on to other things because just as she was about to sit and tear into her own balloon bag they were asked to jog. In circles. Around the classroom. With the Professor. Sure...it'd make her warmer but was she really that cold? Not really....but eh...why not. She could use the physical exercise. So around in circles she went ignoring the urge to pick up her own pack of balloons and blow each one up in turn. Oh...questions while jogging. ...Shout it out....no hand raising. Coool! "Climate!" Yep. Awesome. And she kept jogging. |
Text Cut: Flamsteed Hehehe. Flamsteed was always so nice and seemed pleased to see her, and today was no different. Or... at least he was that way in classes and in passing - Gobstones was a different story, but she was certain his cheering against her wasn't personal. Even then, though, she felt that he would be cheering for her if he wasn't doing his duty and cheering for, what she assumed was, his old house, because of course she was a delight and a good student and a good player and made him a cool card last term and did good work and she just knew she held a place on his favorite students list. She HAD to. Total model student. Moooooost of the time. She loved his outbursts of song and the idea of jogging, though, so she was put in a good mood and up on her feet right at the idea, shooting Tobes the happiest of grins. Perfect for him, too, wasn't it? Now he didn't have to try to sit still and could let off some energy. Pressure... temperature... volume... density... ???? "Fun," Sophie added to the chorus of answers. Out-of-the-box sort of answers were always safe kinds of answers with Flamsteed, weren't they? Probably? Heh. |
Angel smiled as she listened to what the Professor was saying, this was going to be awesome, though well maybe not because she was going to get all sweaty and ewwwwwwwwwwwwwy like and Angel had only just done her hair. Angel stood up and started to jog around the classroom with the Professor, she wondered if the Professor was training for a marathon or something because if he was then she would totally support him and might actually join in with him as long as it was worth it. "Weather?" Angel wasn't sure why she shouted that out but she had a feeling that was the answer she wanted to give, so whilst she was still jogging as she was saying the answer. |
That's it... Flailsteed had officially gone mad. If he wasn't before, anyway. Someone really needs to hide any sort of sugar from that man. Wait... Jogging? Were they really... No. Zander would refuse. He wouldn't do it. Yet, why was he standing up? GAH. The Gryffindor reluctantly began to run circles around the room. Yes it was cold, but no running was not the way to go. At least it wasn't another outdoor lesson? ... So it could've been worse. But then, the man was actually asking them questions while they ran!? Wasn't this torture enough? Zander had absolutely no clue. Hearing Sophie's answer he snorted. If anything none of this was fun. It was tiring. "Uh not cauldron cakes, that's for sure." |
Singing. Oh nonononono this was way worse than that squeaking sound that balloon was making. Kevin put his elbows on the desk and placed his fingers in his ears as the Professor passed by him while singing OUT LOUD and then he heard a POP and he looked up to see that the balloon had exploded. Good. Taking his fingers out of his ears when the class finally began, Kevin raised an eyebrow when they were told to get up and jog around the classroom. Surprisingly, the second year Gryffindor didn't have any problem with that. He stood up and followed the rest of his classmates as they jogged around the class. But then the tricky part came, answering questions while they were jogging? Kevin groaned but still listened to the question and his mind went blank after it was asked. Pressure, temperature and volume what? "SOMETHING!" He suddenly blurted out. He had no idea what the answer to the question was but everyone was shouting things and Kevin didn't want to be left out. |
Running. OH YEAH! This lesson just got a lil better. The third year zoomed about as the classroom completing a good lap or two as she tried to think about those words Professor Flamsteed had just blurted out. To her they were really all random but then she could understand why people were associating that with gas and weather and the atmosphere. It all made sense, but it was all a bit of a bore like come on, could they not all come up with different things? HEH. Brilliant answer. HEHEHE. "Farts!" Bart inspired answer and all. |
Ethan watched the professor sing, and wasn’t bothered by it at all. Free entertainment, you guys! The third year even had both of his hands in front and conducted for Airey. Such a good conductor he was. But then, class was starting! Ethan was more than glad to be up and moving because, horrible weather outside…and they were in a higher altitude and all that. Anyway. Jogging. Jog, jog, jog. The Slytherin’s thoughts were at a loss because the other students started to throw answers from left to right. They sure are quick to answer, no? And such smarty pants! Ethan concentrated on his jogging and simply tied his classmates’ answer with Airey’s question. “STORM!” Because…snowstorm? This class should be somehow relevant to what’s going on outside? Uh-huh. Jog, jog, jog. |
Ian wasn't particularly enjoying this part of the lesson. He wasn't much for running normally. He liked to take things at a bit of a more leisurely pace. It didn't help that with his robe and woolen sweater things were starting to get a little too warm for his comfort. He looked at the professor, hoping the running part was going to be over soon. It didn't take much for Ian's breathing to become labored and ragged as he panted. I really am in poor physical condition Ian thought to himself in between thoughts of how much fun he was NOT having. |
The singing was just...and with the squeaky balloon rubbing on top of the singing, Maddie had developed something of a headache. She DID manage NOT to jump when the balloon popped, though. She simply looked at the star man with an unimpressed gaze and tried not to roll her eyes. He could cross making balloon animals off his list of skills The jogging she didn't mind so much. What with the classroom being freezing and the first year being quite small, she needed all the help keeping warm she could get. And so the small brunette was up out of her seat and jogging by Dima in no time. Pressure... temperature... volume... density. Pressure... temperature... volume... density. The Ravenclaw thought on this a bit as she continued jogging around, considerably warmer at this point, by the way. Thank you, Jogging. Also, Maddie was inclined to agree with anyone suggesting weather was the product of all those things. In an effort not to give the same answer again, though, she came up with something different. "A hot air balloon ride?" |
Marisol thought. And then she thought some more. Maybe she knew the answer. And maybe she didn't. But her best friend (back in Spain) Sara's father was a muggle physicist. Before she had thought it to be the dullest profession So she could be on the right track. "The Law of Ideal Gases?" If that was even a thing. Her memory could be a liar. |
Okay. They were jogging. Couldn't they just light a fire instead...? Quote:
