Winter was fun and all, but this never ending winter thing wasn't funny anymore. This wasn't Narnia. If it was there'd be talking animals and a mean witch type person. Although some professors might pass. Donnacha sighed and wandered down the hallways, a letter meant for his younger brother in his hand, but NO WAY TO SEND IT. He'd miss Cian's fifth birthday and his sister's first.
Hogwarts was a magic school, wasn't it? They should be able to fix this!

After wandering around for a little while, Donny noticed Charlie sat in a corner. "Hiii!" Charlie was fun. She would know something to put an end to this boringness. And she was smart, being a Ravenclaw and all. "D'you know when we can go outside again?!" WHAT IF THEY NEVER GOT OUT?! HE WAS TOO YOUNG TO BE STUCK HERE FOREVER.

Hearing footsteps, the Ravenclaw just managed to refrain from rolling her eyes. When, however, she saw whom it was, Charlie's urge to be sarcastic and unhappy by the presence of company vanished, and instead she let a small smile wander across her face. "Hi, Donny."

Because Donny was nice and cute and funny and was never allowed to grow up, never and if Charlie had to have company right then, she reflected that she could have done a lot worse.

Patting the floor next to her, she encouraged the younger boy to join her. Was it something about the place being magical that the floor was actually quite comfortable, or was she herself just strange? "I... I wish I knew, kid." Because she wanted to go outside. She wanted him to show her his flips, and she wanted Tristan to be able to visit Hogsmeade, and she wanted the sun and the warmth. "Sucks, doesn't it?"

Kevin had dashed down the stairs after his visit at the Astronomy Professor's office while holding the man's Star Trek blanket under one arm. He looked back in case he was being followed by the one whom he had stolen the blanket from but when he didn't see anyone following him, he slowed down a bit. Standing in one of the corridors, the Gryffindor had no idea where he was but that didn't matter. He needed to find a hiding place. If Flamsteed didn't want to give back his hat , Kevin wasn't gonna give back his blanket!

The sudden adrenaline rush slowly went away and the young boy coughed again. Right, he was sick and probably shouldn't be running around. This was why he walked now and looked around. Passing by a room of armours, Kevin stopped in his track. A grin formed on his face and he looked around him to make sure that he was alone and stepped inside the room.

Hiding the Star Trek blanket in one of the armours should be the perfect hiding place for now. The dormitory was too easy as he was sure the man would search there first. Looking around again, Kevin rolled up the blanket and placed it on the ground. Then he moved closer to one of the armours and pulled the torso open. It was hollow on the inside and PERFECT for a blanket. "This will be your new resting place for now" He had almost laughed out loud...AAALMOST. Didn't want anyone to find out he was here eh?

He picked up the blanket, stuffed it inside of the armour and then closed it shut. He stepped back to admire the hiding place and with an evil smile, he turned around and left the area.

Now he just needed to avoid the Professor...okay how was he gonna do that?

Charlie seemed just as fed up with this whole never ending winter thing as he was. Who wouldn't be? Elsa, maybe. But there was no snow queen here. Just kids who wanted to be outsiiiiiide.
Donnacha smiled as Charlie patted the floor next to her and eagerly skipped over to sit next to her. Maybe she could teach him more cool tricks, Somersaults were easy now.

Suck, it did. Donny nodded and sighed dramatically. "What if.. what if we never ever get out? And we'll grow OLD here?!" Never ever getting out would be awful. But that also meant Elodie wouldn't ever leave. That was alright, yeah?

Worst case scenario. He had to know, alright. Donny had too many cool things to do, he couldn't rot away at Hogwarts. WHAT IF THE FOOD RAN OUT?!
Snowmen were cool and all that, but... spring and summer were funner. Waaaaaaaaaaaay funner. More fun.

Donny got a grin as he scooted next to her, and she pulled the blanket from her bag and draped it over their legs. Noting that his legs were getting longer, and that meant that he was getting taller, Charlie frowned a little. He was supposed to stay little and cute forever. If he was taller than her one day, she wasn't going to be happy.

"Don't say that. We've already grown old here once, remember?" She reminded him. Charlie hadn't personally grown old, actually, but the point was still valid. The teachers weren't going to let it happen again.... Would they? "I'm sure it'll warm up soon. It has to." What on earth had happened to global warming, eh?

Donny's smile grew even bigger when Charlie covered their legs with a cosy blanket. The floor was kind of cold, actually. Much like the rest of the castle. The cold might be growing old and might be annoying, but you couldn't say that nothing exciting ever happened at Hogwarts. None of this weirdness ever happened back in Ireland.

That was true. Most of the students had grown old and grey last term. Growing old at Hogwarts wouldn't be new. Donnacha nodded, "we'll be rescued before we can grow old." They had to. He was already going to miss his sister's first birthday and his brother's fifth, he couldn't miss out on SUMMER. Donny had to go to the beach, go swimming, do fun stuff, OUTSIDE. What was even happening in the outside world? Was everyone freezing? Or were they enjoying actual spring weather? "Do you think our parents are cold too?"

"We have to be." Rescued, that was. The alternative was far too horrible for Charlie to contemplate. "Otherwise, all of our summers would be ruined." Would lessons continue, if they were kept here - stuck (she almost shuddered at the thought of using that word)? Or would they just be expected to wander around the castle and amuse themselves?

She didn't want to think about it. Her summer was far to important to give up - Tristan had been wonderful to plan it, and she'd been excited since New Years Eve. It seemed an awfully long time ago, when snow had actually been natural. "... I was thinking about that, earlier." And by earlier, Charlie probably meant a few days ago, but she sighed a little nevertheless. "Is it just Hogwarts, or is it the rest of the country?" Was it the world, even? "I hope not. Outside help seems our best bet, right now."

"Yeah.." Would there even be summers? If this was their spring, the summers couldn't be much better. Donny sighed deeply. The snow had to do what frozen things did in summer. Now please. "Do you think we could charm it to be like summer.. inside?" He neeeeeded summer to happen, even just one classroom. Olaf didn't even want summer this much.

Not even Charlie had answers to all of his questions. And she was a Ravenclaw, they knew everything. Almost everything. It seemed fair for the whole world to be stuck inside, but that probably wasn't the case. Cian was probably playing outside right now. So unfair. But.. shouldn't it make sense for the entire country to be snowed in? Weather was everywhere, you know. "They.. they should gets animals to dig a hole to the castle." Since they obviously didn't know how to fix this the magicky way. Amateurs. They were supposed to be in charge here. Good thing his mam didn't know, he'd just assume she didn't know, or she'd be demanding an explanation and asking if Donny was to blame. "Lila's getting bored stuck inside!' She just slept a lot, like cats did and all.

"Are you doing anything fun, over break?" If When we get out of here? If When everything's normal again? Maybe thinking about summer break would put Donny in a better mood? He looked almost exactly like Charlie felt. "Maybe," she considered thoughtfully. "If we got a small room, and we looked into a temperature or weather smell." She was assuming the only reason it hadn't been performed on the Castle as a whole yet was because it was too big, or it took too much effort to sustain. Maybe something was blocking it.

She shuddered again, partly from the cold, partly from the thought.

They were safe here, she reminded herself. Until the snow broke into the building. "What kind of animals?" Charlie laughed a little, cheered at the image of a dog burrowing in the snow that the younger boys imaged conjured. "Lightning's bored, too. He doesn't like being cooped up." Her first term here, she'd barely seen the cat. Now it wasn't often leaving the seventh floor.

The reason why he came in to this room was not only to use the charms spell but also to check on the stolen Star Trek blanket from the Professor. To see if it was still there. So when he entered the room, Kevin walked straight towards the armour where he thought he had last placed the blanket in to hide it. As he opened it up, he was surprised to see that there was nothing there. Hmm..maybe it was another armour?

He shivered as he walked to another one but before he tried to open it up, the boy decided to use the charm first to make the room feel a bit warmer. He stood in front of a wall and drew his wand. Then he pointed it at the stone and drew an infinity sign while saying "Caelum Saepio!"... he waited a few moments before trying again just to make sure it had worked since he knew it could take a few attempts for him. "Caelum Saepio!"

Although he wasn't feeling any differences, which wasn't good for him, he did have the feeling that it had worked so he waved his wand again and this time he said. "Accio Star Trek blanket!" The blanket didn't come flying towards him but he did hear a noise coming from the back of the room. He walked towards the source of the noise and saw the one armour was shaking. He opened the armour and saw the blanket safely inside.

The boy looked around before he closed the armour again and walked towards the wall on this side. He pointed his wand and after using the correct wand movement he said "Caelum Saepio!" again before he decided to leave the .......crime scene.

If she ever saw Kevin again, she'd pop him one, legit. It was one thing to hide something but when you hid it so well the House had to rally a search party then you deserved the hardest punch in the world. No such luck of getting one in on him though and Lex willed herself to forget it even as they went searching. How many other places had they checked? How many more would they check after leaving this place? It was ridiculous!!

Lex marched into the Armour Gallery, eyes already on the alert, though she hardly thought he'd put it somewhere out in the open. That would be too obvious and not very Kevin like at all.

"Spread out and check the suits. He might have stuffed it somewhere." She said, making her way over to the closest set. No one would mind them pulling them apart so long as they fitted them back together after. Naturally. They were responsible lions sorta, kinda, not really.

Shouldn't be too hard to find.

Penelope was already sick of this searching thing, but she also refused to give up so she kept going. SURELY they'd find it soon. There were only so many places to look after all, even in a castle this big. At least the weather was good for ONE thing, and that was making sure they didn't have to search outside too. So there was that, at least.

"Aye aye, cap'n," she replied with a nod before moving to the nearest suit of armor, starting pulling off various parts, and - finding nothing - replacing them back again.

One down, 38765431 to go.

Kevin. Of course he'd steal the blanket. The Gryffindor gave himself a mental reminder to go find his friend later and teach him a lesson or two. Actually that probably wouldn't happen because Kevin was kind of intimidating.. And knew his secret... So okay no lesson would be taught this time around, but the second year would sure know that Zander Adair was not happy.... Or something like that.

Actually this could be seen as good bonding time or something? Uh? Either way, he would never discourage a lion party because even though other's questioned his househood he was one of Gryffindor's proudest and most loyal fans. He even had quite the competitive side. So yes. He was here to once again come to Flailsteed's aid.

'That guy owes use one. Or five.' Ahem anyways. His thoughts were cut short when Prefect Lex called out a set of instructions. Check inside the suits? Yeah that was definitely the best place to start. Kevin would most definitely use them to his advantage. How was it that they were friends again? Anyways. Back to the search.

The Gryffindor began walking towards the suit nearest him. Unscrewing the head off as carefully as he could, he peeked inside. Nope not this one. Also... What exactly did the blanket look like? Actually wait. Any blanket inside a suit of armor would be pretty out of place, so that information wasn't actually a necessity. Right, and that is why he wasn't even considered for Ravenclaw. Well you did one thing right, sorting hat.

AJ was beginning to wonder why something was forever happening to Airey. Was the glitter and the stolen blanket all connected to the same person? The lion kind of wanted to find out who this person was because as much as she didn't like cleaning up after others, the kid deserved a high five... to the face. Ahem.

"I'm here," she said between breaths. "I have little legs." Or she would have been here sooner. Okay, so Lex said to spread out and search everywhere. This seemed like an unlikely place to hide a blanket, but what did she know about blanket thievery?

AJ looked up high, and she looked down low. If she were a blanket, where would she be? "It's like a treasure hunt." It was kind of exciting. The only sucky thing was the prize. They weren't even going to be able to keep it.

Here blanket, blanket, blanket....

Aubrey had the right idea. It WAS like a treasure hunt...if you could call a blanket a treasure but you know, to each their own and all that. They weren't here to judge, they were here to find it. With any luck they could catch him by the staff table for lunch unless this hunt dragged on forever more. It would NOT. If they had to kick away suits to speed things up, they so would. Had to.

With a bit of a struggle she lifted the top half off yet another suit. These weren't that light, holy kneazle when she got through with Kevin he wouldn't be able to recognize himself in the mirror.

"Maybe check for suits that look like they've been messed with." That should help with the search, yeah? If the suit looked undisturbed chances are Kevin didn't even look in it's direction.

With that resolve she walked down the row, just studying the suits, they were all sealed right.

Why were there so many suits of armor? Were they here if they had to prepare for battle or something? Could they battle? So many questions, so little time. She had a blanket to find. This had better be a SUPER cool blanket.

She could barely reach the suit to open up its little eye thing. AJ had to STRETCH and crane her neck to look inside. Nope, no blanket. "I should have brought snacks," she said to no one in particular.

Was there a spell that would make blankets come out of hiding? If not, they should create one. Look how handy it would have been today in there current situation. The firstie walked further down and wasn't watching where she was going. AJ went face first on the floor, but not before the suit or armor closest to her went crashing down with a super loud BANG! Whoops. "No blanket in there." Play it off Valentine. She totally meant to do that.

Alexa had only just gotten down the line of suits when the sound of metal clattering to the ground brought her attention back to the First Year...who was actually knocking suits over. Wow, mind reader much? This was clearly the like-mindedness of the house being revealed here, though she did wish Aubrey would have waited a bit longer before throwing things about. Just in case it wasn't necessary. "Try not to hurt yourself, got it? We're here for a blanket, not a reason to see Healer Tillstorm."

She was all set to start walking again when a suit from a room caught her attention. For a moment Lex stood squinting at it before she realized they were meant to be taking ACTION.

"Can someone go check that one over there?" It. Looked. RATTLED. Leave it to Kevin to not do a good job of putting things the way he found them. Definitely not the sort you wanted to take with you. He'd compromise your position for sure.

In the mean time, Alexa went walking down the other line of suits, in case she could find another that looked odd.

After putting the head back on the suit he had just checked he walked over to the one next to it, when he heard Prefect Lex calling out to the group again. Check that one? The Gryffindor turned his head around to try to find exactly which one the girl was talking about... Sure enough, it looked like it had been messed with or something. Zander made yet another mental note to go talk to Kevin-- wait. No this was good. At least they had a lead now!

Making his way over to the to he tried to unscrew the head, but man it was really stuck on there. Looking back towards the group he called out to them, "Can someone help me take it apart? I think this might be the one!" Which was definitely exciting news because that meant that they could finally get this blanket rescued and earn some reward. Which was hopefully house points. Gryffindor had somehow fallen behind so close to the end of term and this was not acceptable!!

"Got it," she replied back to her prefect. She was okay btw, thanks for asking. Not that she wanted to be coddled or anything. AJ was just making a point. The lion was just about to turn in the opposite direction when she heard Zander call out for help.

Zander was waiting for someone to come over for help, and sure enough it was the eager firstie. See, now this is the type of first year Hogwarts needed. Man. If only he had been this eager and talkative in his first year, may have actually made some friends around this place. Zander gave her a small smile as she approached and woah so much energy.

Kick it off? Yep. She most certainly was put in the right house. Except for Zander probably wouldn't have suggested kicking, but desperate times call for desperate measures? "Uh... Okay?" He could do that... It'd be risky, but uh... As long as they got the points right?

Awww, look at her lions springing into action when it was called for. She liked how willing they were, as proven by them coming for the blanket hunt. It wasn't to say they had nothing better to do but despite that they still gave her some of their time...time so close to lunch at that.

Zander had asked for help and she was cool with Letting Aubrey but then they were talking about lifting before kicking heads off and quite frankly if they were going to make this messy they might as well make it easy on themselves.

Deciding she'd step in too, Lex walked over to the suit, gave it a once over then a very solid and well placed kick.

CRASH!!!

Metal clattered to the floor and the suit's pieces went sprawling across the floor in disarray. Excellent. That took care of that. Hey wait. "Does that look like the blanket to you guys?" It'd fallen out possibly but as to whether it was THE blanket was yet to be decided. Inspection was needed.

The Gryffindor was ready to mount Aj on his-- O______O

Well... That was one way of doing it. The Gryffindor DUCKED!in cover and watched as the metal when flying everywhere. That was definitely one way of doing it. At least it was straight to the point, yeah? Right. Anyways. What was that? WAS THAT THE BLANKET! Actually... Come to think of it... He had no idea as to what this blanket actually looked like.


The Gryffindor ran to it and held it up in the air. Well... It sure looked like it had Flailsteed written ALL over it. Definitely something the Astronomy professor would use. Except, why was it so dear to the guy? It was really just a blanket. Nothing that special about it. Except for that it kind of smelled. And was wrinkled. Must've been due to sitting in the armor for so long.

Holding it up in the air, Zander looked over to Prefect Lex, "I mean... It must be, right? I don't really think there'd be any other random blankets hiding in these....?" Unless wizards were even weirder than he thought. Did people normally hide their blankets in suits of armor? Because that'd be weird. Even to him.

While Zander moved toward the blanket, Alexa began collecting the pieces of the suit she'd just dismantled. If it was it--and really, how many blankets did one have lying around the castle--then kicking apart the suit was completely worth it and she'd have done it again much sooner she'd noted this one before going down the line of suits over there.

After fitting the head on, Lex turned to him and regarded the blanket for herself. The noticeboard had given a description of it and even if it didn't, this blanket had 'Airey' screaming all over it.

Lex nicked it from Zander to get a better look. "That's gotta be it. No questions about." She turned to the rest of them, suddenly grinning because THE SEARCH WAS OVER!! "We did it! Got the blanket in our possession. Just gotta palm this off to the Professor then we can grab lunch." Provided it was still lunch time. What time was it anyway? How long had they been search even? This had been a huge chunk of her day that she would never get back.

"Let's check the Staff Dais first before deciding to head up all those stairs to the tower. Come on." Because Professors ate lunch too, yes? Nothing was left a mess right? If so she trusted they'd fix what they broke before following after her as she headed from the room.

Aw man, Lex had stole her kicking thunder. It was pretty wicked to see her kick it like that. When she was all old and cool she would have to come back to this spot and try it out herself. Then she wouldn't have to be lifted up before she could take action.

That was the blanket? She expected something cool, something fierce, something that deserved to be searched for. Slightly disappointed with what they discovered she listened to her prefect. "Lunch does sound good." Not that it ever sounded bad. Aj looked around and everything seemed to be in place. She followed behind Lex.

The Gryffindor looked at Lex, while she examined the blanket-- YES! So it WAS the right one! Perfect. Kevin wasn't as sneaky as he thought. Hopefully Flailsteed wouldn't put him in detention after this because Merlin, hadn't the kid had enough?

At the mention of lunch, he felt his stomach growl. Awh, couldn't they have lunch first and blanket deliver later? Ssssiiigggh. Looking around, he realized that both girls had started walking away.

WAIT UP WAAAAIT. And with that, the third year began running after them down the corridor. So... to the staff table?
