Arithmancy 2 No strange smells or instructions meet you this time as you step into the classroom, but the professor will (if you're lucky). Despite your instructor's strongest Hot Air Charms, the temperature in the room is only slightly less biting than the rest of the castle. Appropriately, Lolita is wearing fashionable winter gear purchased from London as a birthday present for herself. With no further instructions, it is only reasonable to assume that she wishes you to come in and take a seat. OOC: This lesson will begin in around 12 hours. |
Angel smiled as she walked into the classroom, she saw the Professor had some new glasses and she thought they looked cool, though at the minute she was more bothered about the fact everywhere was freezing over, she wondered if someone had forgot to pay the weather man the bill or something worse. Angel nodded at the Professor as she looked at the board to see if there was any instructions, when she realised that there wasn't any, she decided that the best thing to do would be just to sit down and wait for further instructions, so that is what she did. |
Arithmancy. As Nigel walked into the room to greet the Professor. He noticed that there was not smells or changing spot. Shame, no more togas or anything of that sort. Still that was for the best seeing as it was still clod in the room. But only slighlt warmer. It had a difference to Nigel. "Hello, Señora. Muchas Gracias for the Toga." Time to take a seat and relax until this show shows. |
It was cold out there and it was cold in here. Could she not get a break? This was ridiculous. When were they going to start tunneling their way under the castle and making their big escape. Classes were hardly enough for the Gryffindor to keep her sanity, not when she was stuck inside with everyone. Lex didn't know how much longer she could take this...this....confinement. It could do a Gryffindor's head in. "Hello Professor." She would have said 'good day' but that would have been an outright LIE. What was good about this day, pray tell? It was like yesterday and the day before, nothing but bloody castle walls. Doing her best not to grumble, Lex went to take her seat. No veggie foods this lesson. She could appreciate that. Just...let them out of the castle please snow. |
No strange instructions? No kebabs? NO TOGA?! MAN. The fourteen year old had thoroughly enjoyed pretending to be a Greek God. It was BRILLIANT. It felt brilliant. If there were Halloween parties at Hogwarts -- which there should be, thank you -- Grayson was all up for dressing up like a Greek God again. Just do him a favour and don't ask him maths or Arithmancy questions, mkay? Tightening his robs around himself, Grayson headed further into the classroom. It was still chilly in here, something that he wasn't even surprised with now. It was freaking freezing EVERYWHERE. And this made the Slytherin that little bit glad that they weren't wearing togas today. He could keep his uniform and Slytherin jumper on. Oh look, the feisty professor was here. "Hello Professor!" he called, giving her a small smile and a nod before heading over towards an empty seat and sitting down. Looking around, there weren't many people here. Just some Gryffindor and Nigel and Lex, who got an extra smile because she looked like she could kill someone. Correction: she probably could kill somebody. |
Trying his best not to shiver from the merciless cold, Adi stepped into the Arithmancy classroom. The first lesson hadn't been so bad and he was quite looking forward to this one. "Hello, Professor. Looking good.'' That she was, with those fashionable stuff. "Hey, Angel. What's up?'' the Hufflepuff said. He'd be sitting next to her today. Benny wouldn't mind, right? Hehe |
Jasmine arrived at the Arithmancy classroom with a few extra layers on. Nevertheless, she still felt cold. She was starting to wonder if she would ever feel warm again. And now this.....Arithmancy was going to be a challenge. She had been having a hard time grasping the concepts anyway and now her mind was concerned with other things. Jasmine didn't know how she would possibly be able to focus on her classwork today. "Hello Professor Domingo", Jasmine said as she entered the room. Seeing Adi and Lex, she gave them both a wave. Finding a seat as far away from everyone as possible, Jasmine sat down. She took her notebook and quill out of her bookbag and placed them on her desk. Then she began to stare off into space, in a world of her own. |
SPOILER!!: Angel And so it was that the first to arrive for this lesson was none other than the girl who had completely lacked respect for Arithmancy. Her homework had showed some mild promise, but would it bear out in the classroom? Lolita merely nodded back to the girl as she went to sit down. SPOILER!!: Mr Hair Ah, the Ravenclaw Prefect! "De nada, Señor Pelo. I'm pleased to see you're here. Have a seat," she said, gesturing toward the very open room. SPOILER!!: Lex "Hello, Miss Prefect." She looked disgruntled. Lolita understood this. It would be hard to NOT be disgruntled with this SPOILER!!: Grayson "Welcome, Mr Whitlock. Staying warm, I presume?" Perhaps that was too much of a presumption. "Take a seat anywhere." SPOILER!!: Adi "Good day, Mr Rehman." And he was quite right, she WAS looking rather good. "Agreed! Latest from London, a little birthday present for myself." A week early, but no matter. SPOILER!!: Jasmine Next to enter was Miss Guidry, who had shown promise at the beginning of term if Lolita remembered correctly. "Good day, Miss Guidry." She noted the Ravenclaw's seating preference with a wry smile. |
Lux wasn't in the best of moods as she entered the classroom for the next Arithmancy lesson. She was so worried about Bay that this subject - or any of the other ones - was far from a priority for her. But here she was and she would still put effort in even if she wasn't feeling it. "Hello, Professor," she said before taking her seat. Was it obvious that she wasn't feeling her normal, cheerful self? |
SPOILER!!: Angel and Adi Okay so Benny was going to give Arithmancy another try. Even if the last lesson had kinda left him more than a little confused and lost and just all around put off the subject. And it wasn't exactly like it was a required class that he HAD to take. But he had been convinced and so he made his way to the arithmancy classroom, the third year bundled up like they all had been lately even inside. "Good day, professor," he greeted the woman waiting there for him. Walking past, he moved to find a seat. Benny spotted both Adi and Angel, the two of them surprisingly sitting next to each other. That was a first. "Excuse me..." he says standing between them. "Any room for me?" Usually if anything, he was surrounded by them in class, that way they could share him which was important after the fights in the beginning of the term. |
Simon shivered as he entered the classroom. Merlin, everywhere in the school was very, very cold. Even the common room was beginning to get the biting chill that many of the other classrooms had. Luckily he had started to wear his stylish winter coat around the school; otherwise, he'd probably be frozen at this very moment. He gave Professor Domingo a friendly smile. "Hello Professor. How are you?" he asked before heading back to go find a seat. Where were the kebabs? He glanced around the room a little bit but he could see no kebabs in sight. He frowned. But.. But.. But... The kebabs had made this class AWESOME last time and had helped tame his bad headache that he was getting from trying to understand all the weird numbers and their meanings. Simon continued down the classroom and found a spare seat by Grayson. He smiled. Grayson was cool. Mhmm.. And fun. He liked dragons. "Hey Grayson! How's it going?" |
The words to Angel were hardly out of Adi's mouth when he spotted Jasmine, Lux and Benny. He quickly waved back to his Ravenclaw friend. "Uh...yeah. Sure,'' Adi told Benny distractedly. Lux had his attention. "Here. Make yourself comfortable next to your girlfriend.'' With that, he grabbed his bag and headed over to his fellow Puffer, leaving the seat vacant.. SPOILER!!: the Cucumber Eater Adi plopped down in the seat next to Lux. He didn't get his usual wave and smile from her. That was enough to say something was wrong. Plus she looked worried. "Lux? What happened?'' It didn't make sense asking 'Is everything alright?' or 'Has something happened?' when he already knew something did happen. Lux was usually cheerful. |

How was she going to tell him what was wrong? She couldn't when she didn't really know anything. "I don't know," she said sadly. Honestly, that was the truth, because she had no idea what was going on besides that Bay wasn't doing well and he wasn't here. She wanted things back to how they were before where he was fine and safe. She also wanted Adi to keep her company because she was sad. |
SPOILER!!: Adi Benny raised and eyebrow as Adi responded, seemingly distracted by something. The person he was waving at? And then the Hufflepuff got up from the seat and took him by surprise, both by his girlfriend remark and walking off without anything else said to him or Angel. "Wait!" "...Adi?!" The Gryffindor sighed getting the feeling that he had upset his bestie again. He hadn't wanted to push his fellow third year away. It was only when he saw Adi talking with a girl that he wondered about it being something else. He turned away so as not to stare, trying to focus on what might come in the class. Benny somewhat reluctantly took the now-vacant seat, feeling both awkward next to Angel and alone. At least Adi would have been a buffer. Maybe he was going to regret coming to this class after all. |
Right. Another day, another class. Ascanius was having a rough go of it since he had been, well, through some things. But that didn't mean he was ANY less optimistic about Professor Domingo. He nearly purred her name in his head. She was SO fit. Like, distractingly so. Trying his best to ignore how frigid it was, he grinned, "Hello Professor." She was looking soooooo good today. As she probably woke up, y'know? Yeah. He took his seat after a moment of appreciation. |
Caleb wasn't in the mood for calculations, but he WAS in the mood to see pretty Professor Domingo. Hehehe. But the castle was still COLD, and Caleb was starting to believe that he was never going to be truly warm again. He was always chilled now. ALWAYS. Not even saying hello but managing a small smile to the professor, he walked to his desk and sat down, curling up in his chair to try and warm up. |
Zander had already mentally prepared himself for any weird situation they were going to be thrown in this time. The greek toga stuff really threw the kid off, you know? But wait-- What was this? It actually smelled like a classroom in here? Whaaa? Walking into the door and past the Professor, Zander smiled, "Hi Professor Domingo.... Brrrr," it was cold in here. Could someone make it stop? Please. |
The lesson has officially begun SPOILER!!: Replies Making her way to the front of the room, Lolita clapped her gloved hands together, which did not produce the desired noise. Instead, she said, "Atención, por favor." After a brief pause to let them finish up their little impertinent conversations, she began. "Welcome back. I see none of you turned into an icicle, which is something." They were all headed in that direction unless their ever-omniscient Headmistress decided to do something soon. "Let's hope your brains have not frozen over. I wonder if a few of you could summarize part of our previous learning for the class?" OOC: The lesson has officially begun. Please do not announce your late arrival. |
Arista seeing that the Professor had started the lesson turned to face her and shut her mouth. So what would this lesson be about this time. Probably something that she didn't understand again. Maybe just maybe she would understand something about it but she didn't even get Muggle math so magical math, would be no different... Her brain had totally frozen over, it couldn't work in these conditions. "Um we learned what Arithmancy was and what it did. And what all the numbers meanings were. |
They weren't icicles? Zander begged to differ. Even after going through months of the cold weather, he still hadn't learned to wear a heavy coat around. OOPS. Anyways, he was pretty thankful they didn't have to wear togas this time because that would've made it worse. Now as for the first question of the day... Uh.... Maybe the cold had frozen his brain? Because he couldn't remember too much from the lesson. Except for the fact that... "The odd numbers were male and evens were girl numbers." Yeah! But that's all he had... |
He didn't know how to respond to Professor Domingo's fabulous looking comment. Ugh. Could he actually say that she was looking fabulous? Or if he did that, would that be considered kinda weird? He kept his mouth shut and waited for class to begin. Ah, so they were going to review first... So...What had they learnt back in that first lesson? That kebabs were delicious. He wracked his brains, searching for something that he could actually raise his hand and tell the class. But what had he learnt about the subject? Uhhh... Simon opened his notebook and flipped through the pages of scrap work until he found the section on Vibratory Influences. SPOILER!!: notes from last class His eyes widened when he reread about how Arithmancy makes people understand themselves better. So he raised his hand and added that to the class, "We learnt that numbers have different meanings. Those meanings can help us understand ourselves better." |
In her seat Beverly Wayne was in the worst moods of moods. She was restless. She wanted to run laps. She wanted to swim. She wanted warmth. She WANTED to NOT be TRAPPED inside the castle. Sure, a few things No answers. So, tapping her quill on her chin, and trying her best not to demonstrate how grumpy she was, the Slytherin prepared herself to take notes. In all honesty, she had gotten lost halfway through the last lesson picking bits here and there. |
Lux and Adi ^_^ Quote:
There sat Lux. And she didn't look like her usual self. In fact, she looked the complete opposite. Something must have been truly bugging her. And Dylan didn't like the thought of that. The third year frowned, and made his way over to her. He knelt down in front of her table so that they were eye level. "Hey," he said to her, looking at her with concern. "Everything okay?" he asked. Leah was observing the professor's clothes. They were COOL. But she could not ask where she bought those because the lesson had started! She was starting to like Arithmancy, working with numbers was fun. If only Professor Domingo would stop speaking the weird language. The Hufflepuff had problem understanding. Maybe she HAD turned into an icicle, because she could barely think about what she had learned last lesson. Not that it was unusual. Leah could not think properly in normal weather too. ;) And her memory was back! The second year raised her hand and said, "You can predict the future using numbers." And sneezed uncontrollably afterwards. She shouldn't have opened her mouth. The girl rubbed her nose and muttered, "Bless me." |
Angel was just about to reply to Adi when Benny came into the room, she was about to point to a spare seat, when Adi got up and started saying about boyfriends and girlfriends, well that wasn't nice of him and she was about to say something when she saw he had gone and sat next to Lux who seemed upset. Angel wished she could ask Lux what to matter was, but since the lesson was starting she couldn't, though there was a special hug with Lux's name on when she next saw her friend, as of now though she was going to sit next to Ben, who seemed to be as lost as to why he came as she was. Angel raised her hand. "Professor we learnt that some numbers are more than just numbers, we learnt that these numbers have words behind them and that if you add them together you get different meanings." Angel had also learnt a few more things, but she wouldn't add those on. |
