It was cold. Really, really cold and the freezing drift outside made whistling noise through the double doors. You should have learned to come prepared, though! Hopefully you read the noticeboard carefully.
Professor Botros was waiting at the double doors that opened up to the grounds outside the castle. He had set up a small seating area with few desks, the boys should learn to allow the girls to take a seat while they pulled themselves together and stood by the wall. There were several boxes scattered around but other than that, there was nothing else. Botros paced the small space, his cane in his right hand and the other one tucked behind his back.

Oh no..
It seems that the storm is getting worse because the wind picked up and some of the lights instantly went away and he was pretty sure he heard some screams over the crazy wind.
He thought he heard the professor say something but he just could hear... But he saw other older students melting the path to go.... Back? He yelled out "OI ARE WE GOING BACK?? " he wondered if anyone could hear him....
Perched on Kace's back, Lux could see much better even though her visibility was still poor. And was that Bay that she heard somewhere? Where was he?
Cupping her hands around her mouth like a megaphone, she decided to call out and hope that he could hear her. "WE ARE HEADING BACK TO THE CASTLE NOW." Waving her arms out, she hoped that maybe he could see her.

Wait…what? They’re gonna go back now?
At this point, Ethan did seem to have connected with his rune that he didn’t even realize it was snowing so hard. If it wasn’t for the whiny students, they would have at least heard Professor Gramps’ answer to their…answers. Ethan turned around and followed Cutty’s lead and went behind him and Nigel.
“Ventus.” Warm air erupted from the tip of his wand and placed his magical device inside his thick and furred jacket. The wind is definitely picking up and he could swear that the temperature is below zero already. Meanwhile, he looked around for a certain Ravenclaw to see if she needs a piggyback ride. He didn’t see her though, and hoped that she’s okay. Now, does Simon need a piggyback ride? Hopefully not. Heh.

He must of heard something.. He moved his head around to see if he could see where it was coming from and he spotted it it looked like Lux was on kace's back while casting spells or so he thought..... Some of the snow cleared and yup that's what they were doing.....
He saw her flapping her hands then she yelled something and he was sure she said "yes" he stuck his thumb out to let her know that he had heard her as he followed the brave kace. Which reminded him to thank him later.. Watching carefully he made his way up the past with the rest of the students.

The professor mentioned piggyback rides and that made her ears perk up. Before she knew it Benny was there offering Angel a ride. Did this mean that they were back on speaking terms? AJ shot her sister a smile that said so much that she was sure Angel would get.
The first year heard somebody offering a piggyback ride, and she was so not passing that up. Looking to see who the voice belonged to, she was glad to see it was Cris. At least she wouldn't have to ride on a complete stranger's back... not that she wouldn't or anything. "Hey Cris! Can I hop on?"
Cris heard someone call out his name and he looked down to see who it was. "Hey AJ. Sure hop on and hold on tight," Cris got down on his knees to allow AJ to get on his back. Then he stood up and did a little bounce in order to adjust AJ properly on his back. He placed one hand behind him, holding on to AJ, while the other held onto his still flaming torch.
"Onward Ho!" Cris raised his torch once to signal to both Jasmine and AJ that he was moving again.
The snowflakes continue descending on the marching students and their old professor. The freezing breeze is no longer a breeze but a chilling wind that brings MORE snow even. You notice as you walk that the snow level is dangerously increasing under your feet, it's up to your shins, or your knees even if you're young enough.
The cold wind put out a few torches;
POOF!
Aww, seriously? It was rrreally cold right now. A bit of light would help a LOT! "Kenaz kenaz ke-" Leah started again, annoyed, as the snow crept up to her shins. But then she heard the professor speak and stopped.

Interesting question! Ab smiled at the young Gryffindor and gave her a brief, simple answer since they were basically being buried by snow. "There is two sides for every rune. In general, all runes can be good or bad, it depends on the intention of the wizard using them, and the purpose they're used for." He wanted to give her a few shoulder pats but they were kind of on a hurry so...
... oh Merlin, yeah, that was their cue to go back. Botros nodded at the young girl.
"ALRIGHT EVERYONE. Change of plans! Seems like it's a bad night for a stroll down the lake. Hold each other hands and let's get back to the castle! Come on!" Ab grabbed his torch, his wand and his runestone all in one hand and cast a powerful fire spell that illuminated the darkness around them for a second before the upper layer of snow melted under their feet creating a path back to the castle.
"Older students, you can try and melt the snow as we march back up to the castle. It's not a long road, be quick about it! If you can piggyback some younger students, too, that would be so generous. Come come!" The old man hobbled between the students, moving and melting away the thick layers of snow.
He didn't even have time to respond to their brilliant discussion about Kenaz! Pity.
Yay they were going back! Though the discussion was fun, her life was more important. The second year turned around, facing the wind and started the not-so-long journey back. "Any firsties need a piggyback?" she asked the crowd generously, not realizing how funny that sounded with her self half-covered in snow. If was not long before she tumbled down and landed face-first on the ground. "Owww." Well she kind of needed a piggyback now.

Phew! She was glad this this whole piggy back thing was an option. As much as the first year didn't like to admit defeat, she was exhausted and chilled to the bone. The only thing that kept her going was the fireplace in her common room. She would take a HOT shower, and then camp out in front of the fire.
AJ beamed up at Cris as she watched him kneel down for her. Without hesitation she hoped on. "All set." This was nice. Piggyback should always be an option when leaving anywhere. The lion had to struggle to keep her eyes open. She eyed the torch and hoped that it would stay lit, and that it stayed away from her eyebrows and hair. She didn't ask for much ya know!

Okay, it was really, REALLY cold now.
"kenaz kenaz kenaz... ku ka ki ke ko.. kun kan kin ken kon.. ok ek ik ak uk… kaunnnnnnnnn..," Sophie chanted. It would literally be a quick ticket to the hospital wing if her torch blew out now. What was Botros thinking?! Sophie thought that maybe he didn't realize exactly how cold it was.
Then through the sounds of the winter weather, Sophie heard his voice. They were heading back in now! Hold hands--whaaa? This was every man for himself! Though...Sophie wouldn't mind finding a cute boy to stand next to if they'd be holding hands.
EEP. Did she just think that?! WHAT.
Anyway...
Sophie remembered the Hot Air Charm from Herbology, so she pointed her wand toward the ground and said, "Ventus!"

"Thanks!" Angel smiled at her Cutie-Pie, she was really happy now, she just hoped that AJ was going to be okay on her own down there, because she wasn't sharing her Cutie-Pie and she doubted that he could carry them both, though maybe Adi would help her sister out they were quite friendly.
Benjamin braced himself for her added weight and pressure on her back, even if it wasn't much. Soon enough, he felt her grip on him as she worked on staying put. "Don't thank me yet...we still need to get back safe and warm." His rune back in his pocket and without his wand, his torch wasn't quite as bright as before but luck was with him and it was still lit. Benny made sure to have a secure hold on her one leg wrapped around him, the other offering his torch to her.
"You hold the torches....I have you." The third year securing hold of her other side once she could free him from his torch. He then eased himself back to his feet, moving them to undig them from the latest snow drift. Then once he was okay with her position, the older Gryffindor restarted his trek....their trek....back to the castle.

Angel smiled at her cutie-pie. "I'm going to bake you a cake!" Angel said truthfully. "I will make sure that they are the best I have ever made." Angel was going to give it a go and she hoped he would like them.
Angel smiled as she saw AJ she knew her sister would know that the smile meant everything and she was getting a piggy back as well but not from Adi which was interesting, she would have to think of a way to get them together.
Angel took the torch from Benny. "Okay!" Angel hoped that her friend would be okay getting them back because she was so cold, maybe now would be the best time to tell him before she died of coldness. "I like you!" Angel said as she watched him start to move. "I really like you."
The trail that Lux was making in the snow was pretty good if she said so herself. Though it was still hard for her to walk and the wind made her feel that she might blow over. Small Puff walking here.
When Kace offered to give her a ride, it was so sweet. Of course she would agree to it. "Thank you so much." Bay wasn't anywhere that she could see, and Lux knew he wouldn't mind this in the least. He gave her loads of piggy back rides.
A lit torch while on someone's back wasn't a bright idea, so she made sure to extinguish hers before climbing on Kace's back. "Want me to keep making the hot air? Because I totally can do that."
Kace grinned and bowed down. "Of course anything to help a friend!" He squatted down and prepared himself to give Lux a piggy back ride. He made sure to extinguish his flames incase something bad happened. He felt something light hit his back, he knew Lux climbed on her back. He heard her question and said, "Yeah that would help tremendously..." he said carrying her. Then he heard her yell over to Bay to let him know where they were. He kept carrying her back to the castle. He felt something icy and asked Lux, "Ermm Lux a little help here?" he asked indicating he didn't wanna slip.
Good, good, they were making progress and bigger kids were helping smaller kids and nobody seemed to be dying so far! Botros hobbled towards the huge double doors and positioned himself there, waiting for everyone to get inside. "Get inside, quickly quickly! Up to your common rooms to get all warmed up, anyone who needs help can ask." He held his torch, wand and runstone high in his hand, his flame growing bigger and bigger to help them inch closer to him in this windy snowy weather.
Poor Kenaz, it didn't get enough time this lesson!
ooc: - Class is over, you're officially dismissed!

Adi who had been walking right behind Angel and Benny happened to hear what Angel was yelling to his friend. The Hufflepuff began to snigger. Oh he couldn't wait for Benny's reaction and for that, he stepped a bit closer to the duo.
They finally made it back to the Castle and Adi felt the relief of being back in the warmth. Well, it wasn't that warm but certainly warmer than outside. Too bad about the lesson being cut short though.
"Bye, Professor,'' the third year said. "Hope the next lesson will be a lot better.'' He lurked around a bit though, waiting for Benny. Or was he too busy with Angel? Hehe.

The moment they got back to the castle, Cris knelt down so that AJ could safely dismount and get back on her feet. Straightening up, he looked at the torch that was still burning. Snuffing the flame out, Cris quickly walked over to join the Professor.
"Too bad we weren't able to make it to the lake. But it was still an interesting lesson, Professor. Where would you like me to put this?" Cris gestured to the torch that was still in his possession.
Then Cris remembered something else. "Professor, Adi and I collected some tea leaves for you. Can we see you tomorrow so that we can give them to you?" Cris politely asked the elderly man. Yes it would be appropriate to make sure the Professor would be in his office when they went to visit him.

Looking around, Lux was sure she could spot boyfriend. Seeing him come closer made her happy because it meant that he had heard her message and was coming back towards the castle. She didn't want her Lion wandering outside in this weather when everyone else was nice and warm inside.
Kace asking her for help with the ice drew her attention back to her job. Oh right, he couldn't use the spell when he had her on his back. Oops. "Oh right, sorry." Using Ventus, she got the ice melted in no time. "There we go." Now they could head in through the double doors that Professor Botros had opened and was standing by. Good man, using his torch to help them see better.

AH FINALLY! Zander was super relieved to make it back in one piece. One peice that was super FREAKING cold, but one piece nonetheless. That's really all that mattered in the end anyways, right?
Looking towards Botros, he put down his torch and went to grab his things. That was a horrible lesson. All they did was shiver. Hopefully this'll teach a lesson to all the Professors who seem to think that outdoor lessons IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS COLD WINTER are a good idea. Because clearly, they're not. "Bye Professor! Stay warm," he added as he was ready to walk back to the warm common room fire place.

"A cake you say?" Ben replied just to talk and let her know he was still there and not frozen despite his movements. He had to focus to hear anything specific and it was to her benefit her mouth was close to his ear by her position up on his back. Thankfully it seemed Angel also had assistance back though not by the person he might have figured. Where was his bestie?
He froze in place hearing the last statement from Angel, her repeat of it only cementing what she meant by it. She liked him...liked him. It was only hearing the wind pick up again through his hearing and what he thought might be Adi's murmurings as he passed them on his own way that brought Benny out of his stupor.
"Um...okay..." he said simply as he rebooted his trudge the last several feet to the open door where the professor resided and Adi had just entered. "Bye Professor..." Ben said as he crossed the threshold, the third year stepping out of the way once inside and crouching down once more so Angel could return to her own two feet.
Beverly blinked in the cold, rubbing her nose with the back of her wand hand to warm it up. She wasn't complaining, no. The sooner out this cold the better, but...she had really expected more of a lesson. Stupid weather and stupid cold.
Shivering and teeth chattering, Beverly kept casting Ventus as she trekked along. Any first year or whomever could follow her path and be sure not to slip. She was good at Charms, 'kay. Reaching the doors the fourth year didn't hesitate to enter.
"Have a nice day, professor," she squeaked, still shuddering.

Ethan's pretty bummed about the class.
They were so close to the lake when the wind and snow had to make a scene. Really. Stupid weather. Sighing and dusting off his coat and hair, Ethan extinguished the fire from his torch and placed it back to the crate where Professor Botros procured it earlier. "Right. Um, I'll see you soon, sir! Will give Feo a walk real soon." Like...as soon as the snow goes away? The young Slytherin gave Professor Gramps a wave and headed towards their Common Room.
Looks like he's going to sleep near the fireplace tonight. Mhm. "Ventus!"

Ahh... They were finally back in side. Simon rubbed his hands together, trying to warm himself up. He was expecting them to finish the discussion in here, but Botros told them to go to their Common Rooms to warm up. He was a kind elderly man, but Simon was disappointed that they didn't get to discuss Kenaz!
How could the lesson be over ALREADY? That was too quick.
He pouted slightly, but then watched as a couple of kids darted from the scene to warm up. Simon frowned and made a mental note to pay Botros a visit to ask him more about Kenaz. That would be a good thing to do. "Bye Professor Botros! Keep warm," he said with a smile as he headed towards the Slytherin Common Room.
The moment they got back to the castle, Cris knelt down so that AJ could safely dismount and get back on her feet. Straightening up, he looked at the torch that was still burning. Snuffing the flame out, Cris quickly walked over to join the Professor.

Botros pointed at the boxes still scattered around for the boy to place his torch back in. The flame must've died by now. "Very nice of you, yes, sure. After classes, of course." He gave the boy a playful, manly smack on the shoulder urging him to get inside.
Once everyone was in, Botros closed the double doors and turned to the messy seating area. He'd need the help of a few elves to clean this up, he could feel his bones ache from the cold already.
