Used for transportation between cars, the train corridor tends to see a lot of traffic. Don't stay in one place too long or you might just get trampled.

Browns eyes looked down from the ceiling when he heard someone ask a question that seemed to be directed to him or at least someone close by him. He pointed at himself to make sure the older boy was speaking directly to him and yes it seemed he was. "Trolley?" He looked around, "Nope haven't seen one." He couldn't help but admit food sounded good already though.
"Ravenclaw?" Now this perked his interest. That smart girl Alexa had told him Ravenclaw's might be good to do homework for him. Hmm would this be one of them? Possibly he would have to look more into this, but the kid was older so maybe he would be all high and mighty about it. So Bart decided to just do baby steps for now. "Bart and ah nothing at the moment." Did people really always say their houses like it was the big thing or something?
"So food where do we get this trolley at?" because that should be priority right at the moment.
"It just roams up and down the corridor. I figure you stand still long enough, it'll either run you over, or you'll starve," Mo shrugged as he glanced up toward the front of the train. He had a seat in the middle cars, but he was willing to do the long walk if it meant food at the end.
"Nice to meet you, Bart. I don't want to... alarm you, but you look like you're up to something. You'll want to work on that before a prefect wanders along." Just fair warning from a non-partisan individual. "Fireworks. In the Prefect's compartment. I dare you."

Either way, the Ravenclaw started her adventure down the corridor, scoping out the faces and backs of heads down the way.
And one particular back of the head made her perk up. She straightened, stood on her tippy-toes to see who he was talking to - some kid she didn't know, another new potential friend - and decided it was a good time to interrupt. She could work on making that new friend, even. Sophie ducked low and slipped past people in the train corridor with speed - she bumped into Ascanius a little as she went, tossing out a regretful "sorry bestie!" behind her as she saw who it was - and as she neared the Ravenclaw Captain, she crouched low, building suspense for herself, then leapt merrily onto Marcus Branxton's back and clung to him with the biggest, goofiest grin on her face. "Guess whoooooo!"
And OOMPH. Mo nearly buckled under the weight of someone jumping on his back. What the... who...? He twisted his head just enough to spot a Sophie hanging from his neck. "Now this, Bart, is the prettiest of the pretties. You be nice to her or I'll light you on fire just to watch you burn."
That was a joke, y'know? He was a good kid. Mostly. "Hey, Soph. How was your summer?"

She was curious about these things. Plus, she wanted to hear his New York accent again.

And there were the glare eyes. Cute.

WHATEVER!
HE DIDN'T CARE!
Only he did, but he didn't want to admit it.
"Well I'm glad you've finally made some new friends." And he was but did she have to forget about him? So soon? Especially after they...nope he wasn't going to think about them kissing. It had caused him enough trouble already.
Well..
WELL.
If he didn't want her touching his things, all he had to do was tell her and she would've HAPPILY dropped everything she had picked up for him right back onto the floor. It wasn't like she was going to steal what he had. She was going to ask if he would share first. And then, well.. if he said no, only then would she just take it. Merlin. She wasn't mean.
Rhodes took a step away from Michael as he gave her that look, and she couldn't help but narrow her eyes at what he said. She.. hadn't been ignoring him. Where did he get that idea from!? But of course, he didn't even give her a chance to ask anything. And even though she was just a tiny bit upset, not that she would let him know that because Rhodes didn't get upset over anything, that he thought she was ignoring him, she just had to laugh at what he said next. He was talking about weird voice boy and not from this world girl, right? Since they were the ones she was with when she had seen him.
"Are you jealous that I was talking to someone else?" SomeoneS else. Since there was two of them. Rhodes reached out to give Michael some pokes on the forehead, and she wasn't going to stop until he answered her.

Giving an odd look at the older boy, Mo did he say? "That's one way of looking at it I guess." He scratched the back of his head. He wasn't really wanting to get run over by the food trolley. He looked around the corridor to make sure it wasn't coming right at that moment.
Up to something... him? "I don't know what you are talking about. I was just trying to find something to do while waiting to get to school." That sounded fake even to him. He really needed to work on that didn't he. "Prefects? So there are a lot of those? Not that it matters my step brother was head boy. He told me things." Not really, but Bart wasn't going to let anyone know that.
His eyes got wider with one single world DARE... Did he say dare. Fireworks, did he even have fireworks? "I don't have any fireworks, do you? If you do I'll set them off. I like dares. It will be easy to do." He thought for a moment where could they get fire works, but his thoughts got interrupted when Mo got jumped. He looked to the smiling girl on his back. Why were girls so odd? Then he listened to Mo, "umm alright" More scratching of the head. She wasn't bad looking, but she was no older pretty girl Alice. He shrugged still a bit confused, "Hello"

He got that idea because she said she had seen him on the platform and could not even say hello to him. Of course it was probably good that she hadn't because his mother had been there and then there would have been questions and knowing his mother she would have wanted to meet her. But still...
"Don't stupid Merivel." He said moving his head to the side so that she would stop POKING him. Merlin! "I don't care who you talk to, but you could have at least said hello since you saw me and all."
He was acting like a spoiled brat, he knew that, but for some reason he couldn't seem to stop himself.

"But this is a MAGIC train, mhm!"
Mitchell laughed. He enjoyed her eyerolls. They made him feel all smirky inside. He liked getting a reaction out of her.
"Sorry. You were holding up traffic. It's not my fault." he teased. "Little Miss Bumper Car."
Magic train? "It can't be. I saw smoke." So it was a coal train. Right?

What was Mo going on about? The prettiest of the pretties? She giggled, but protested, "Naw, that's Cat. By default 'cause she's older and therefore more of a woman and therefore prettier, I think. I'm second, though." She beamed over Mo's shoulder at the other kid, giving Mo's hair a ruffle and adjusting herself to a position on his back that would likely be more comfortable for him, she thought, but still clung to him like it was a totally casual, comfortable thing for her.
"Summer's good. Mum and I went to France for a week, which was fun, but now I'm determined to become fluent in French as soon as possible. You ever been? It's wonderful, but I'd like to understand some of what's being said around me next time. We visited the my Uncle Matt and his family, too - Aunt Ernie, Max, and I talked about youuuu," she sung, a bit teasing, then tried to hide the smile in her voice, "All bad things, of course. How was your summer?"

Properly turning her attention to the new kid for the first time, Sophie gave him a 'sup' nod. He had a cute, puppyish demeanor about him. "Hey. Sophie. What's this about fireworks? You trying to make a name for yourself? The new Hogwarts troublemaker?" She sure hoped so - she wouldn't mind tagging along on a few of those adventures, too. And to have a potential adventure partner around her own age? Had to be too good to be true.

Then the scuba diving topic. He smirked at his questions and chuckled. "Well i didn't see any sharks but i saw lots of fish like barracudas and clown fish." he nodded. He didn't judge him by his fear. Everyone is afraid of something. If you weren't then you would be a superhero. Then Kace would have to ask questions.
Kace grinned and blushed. "It was the obvious huh? and you should feel happy for me!" he said. Oh and now he had a crush on Sophie? Interesting. "Well at least i am not the only one with a crush." he said elbowing him.

''Well barracudas are as scary looking as sharks, you know. From the pictures that I've seen anyway. Someday I'm gonna go snorkeling. To look at all the coral and not scary, creepy looking fish.'' But first he'd have to conquer his fear of great oceans, yes?
''It was obvious since last term! I can't believe it took me so long to figure that out.'' Adi laughed. "Well then, I'm happy for you. Does she know?'' Receiving an elbow to the rib, he tried to pull on a straight face. "I don't know what you're talking about.''

Was she wearing some kind of sign? A sign that said she wouldn't mind being called stupid!? Because she did mind. And she wasn't stupid.
Rhodes HUFFED, and dropping her finger away from his forehead, since her poking was bothering him so much, she took another step away from him and crossed her arms right over her chest. She didn't say anything, just stared at him for a good long while before deciding that is was more than just hilarious when he dropped all his stuff. So, uncrossing her arms as quickly as she possibly could, she slapped all his things right back to the floor. There. THERE.
"I didn't hear you saying anything to me, so I didn't think I should say anything to you." She saw that he saw her! It was the reason why she saw him! Hmph.

Lily slipped onto the train just before it was scheduled to leave. The seventh year hefted her broom onto her shoulder, holding it in one hand and holding Phoenix, her owl in the other. Sure she could have packed both of them in the luggage car, but she didn't trust letting just anyone have access to them. She slowly made her way down the train corridor, looking for someone she knew, or more specifically someone she would be willing to sit with. Now that Taylor was gone, Lily didn't have many friends left in the school, meaning not many people to sit with on the long train journey.
Was she wearing some kind of sign? A sign that said she wouldn't mind being called stupid!? Because she did mind. And she wasn't stupid.

Watching her move away from him and seeing the look on her face gave him a sense of satisfaction. Good. Now someone else was in a bad mood. Although he could have done without all the staring she was doing. He shifted uncomfortably under her scrutinising gaze and he was just about to tell her to stop it when all of a sudden his food was back on the floor.
WAS SHE MENTAL?
"It's a bit hard to say something to someone who wouldn't even look at you." She was being stupid but then again so was he. Michael stepped over the food that was on the floor and closer to her.
Oh well now little lippy one was still going at it. And not getting out of her way. With the roll of her eyes and an exaggerated exasperated sigh, Huxley replied “Old enough to know and see who did the bumping.” She was taller after all, birds eye view and all that. “And I don’t know if you can see the absurdity of what you said—but at your age, you are not qualified in any way to give lectures.” Huxley was one such person, in her most righteous opinion, but then this wasn’t the time or place to wax poetic about her qualifications.
Was she done? Oh no she was just getting started. You just had to get her talking didn’t you little one “It is also clear that you have no knowledge whatsoever of what constitutes a rude hand gesture, obviously because of your age but also in all likelyhood, your social standing.....” Because this was nowhere near rude, and Huxley wasn’t about to share the rather delightful list of gestures she knows that runs the length of her arm. “So there is nothing for me to apologize about. There is however the irrefutable fact of our age difference and your attitude. If anything you should be apologizing to me. If I was to waste time and resources taking up a mind-numbing, ceremonial position that requires a trinket on my head you not only need to apologize, you would also need to bow low on the ground and grovel at my feet.” Smile. “Given that I am not one to pine for a position that holds no real power consider yourself lucky and I will merely settle for your most heartfelt apology.” Pause “And a chicken sandwhich at the Trolley.”
What? All these talking and delay has gotten her really hungry.
"I would like to disagree. I think I'm perfectly qualified to give lectures. Obviously age doesn't matter, because here I am, lecturing. You don't just go bumping into people and acting like it's not you fault." Hope did those kinds of things because she knew she was better than most people and she had the right to do so. Same reasoning was applied here as well. She was amazing and this girl should just apologize.
"Waving your hand at me like your trying to dismiss me like a loyal subject is rude and a hand gesture, so therefore it qualifies as a rude hand gesture." Sure some of the girls bigger words slightly confused her but that didn't stop her. "I'm not going to apologize to someone for something that I didn't do wrong." She didn't even apologize for the things she did do wrong. "So, I wouldn't hold your breath if I was you. I don't do apologies." She dug in her pocket checking to make sure her money was there. "But I'll buy you something to eat. Not as a way to apologize, but because I already have on enemy too many." She wasn't being nice. No, it was a charity thing in her books. Obviously the girl didn't have the funds to get something to eat and thanks to Baelyn she had extra money to spend anyway.
She may not like this girl, but then again she didn't like people in general. However, she did see the benefits of having her by her side. She could use someone like this girl with her at school.

Rhodes couldn't help but let a small smirk cross her features as she watched, not just some of his stuff fall to the floor, but all of it fall this time. Kace nodded and smiled, "Well i am glad you want to play instruments. It might get you in with the ladies." he winked and smirked. "Well if your soccer skills aren't strong, i can always teach you." he offered the little guy. The least he could for him if he wanted to learn.
"Well the barracudas aren't that bad. You just need to go out of their way. If you are calm and such they won't bother you." he said. He remembered his instructor telling him. He wasn't harmed so he was fine. "I am sure you would get over your fear if i went with ya." he offered Adi. He would help this little dude conquer his fear.
Wait it was obvious. He had to ask him. "How did you know it was obvious?" he asked him. "I thought i was hiding my feelings pretty well." He smirked at Adi and then knew he couldn't keep his feelings hidden forever. Plus he knew deep down Marigold felt the same way. "Uhhh i do not know if she knows..." he told him honestly.
Rhodes couldn't help but let a small smirk cross her features as she watched, not just some of his stuff fall to the floor, but all of it fall this time. Well she had a point there but he was not going to admit that to her. He had decided that he was right and she was wrong and nothing was going to change his mind. "You were ignoring me Rhodes, you just won't admit it." He was not going to let her win this. If it had of been Zahra, he would have been making jokes by now. He would even have said that she was right and he was wrong because he wouldn't have been able to stand her being mad at him like Rhodes was.
Only Zahra was mad at him at the moment.
While he hadn't expected Rhodes to pick up the stuff she had slapped to the floor,Michael had not expected her to challenge him like that either. He was surprised and also frustrated with her. He was not used to this.
"I swear if you weren't a girl I would punch you in the face." Not that, that had stopped him before mind you, but he was a lot bigger than Rhodes and it would not look good on his part.
He stared down at her for a few moments, wondering how far he could push her and realising in the end it just wasn't worth it. Apparently they were not going to be friends today.
With a heavy sigh, Michael stepped away from her and bent down to pick up his purchases. "Why do you have to be so difficult?"

"What's a Ford Anglia?" Mitchell asked. And more importantly, why was it flying? Actually, the important part would be why did she compare him to one? He was NOT flying. His feet were on the ground.
"No. It just means it's running on coal and not magic." he said with a nod. "I think it's a normal train."

She wasn't going to admit to anything, because there was nothing to admit! Maybe, just maybe, if he told her he was ignoring her, then maybe she would tell him that she was doing the same. But it seemed like she was never going to get that from Michael Toussaint, and Rhodes simply rolled her eyes at him. She didn't even know what the big deal was! So what she didn't say hi to him when she saw him. She was with other people, and if he was going to act like this each time she didn't talk to him well..
..they were going to get into a lot of arguments, weren't they? Did she have to sit next to him in classes, too? Was he going to be a stalker!? Merlin.
Rhodes didn't even break face as he said he would've punched her, and if she wasn't so sure that he really would do it, no matter what she was, she would've challenged him to that as well. But he was a lot bigger than her. She also really didn't take pain too well. Not to mention the fact that she just didn't want to get punched. She liked her face the way it was, thank you very much.
And if she didn't already feel a teeny tiny bit bad for slapping his food from out of his hands, she felt a teeny tiny bit more as he scurried about picking everything up. Rhodes simply watched him for a moment, and with an inward groan, she got down onto the floor to help him. If he would've asked, instead of told her to pick it up, she most likely would've. "I'm not difficult." At least, she didn't think she was. "And I was going to go find you on the platform. But you must've got on the train before I could." So. There.

Maybe he was being too sensitive about this whole thing between him and Rhodes. Whatever this thing was. Okay so yeah, she had been his first kiss, but that's all it had been. A kiss. It wasn't like they were going to get married or anything. She didn't have to talk to him every time they saw each other.
Michael looked at her when she began helping him with his fallen food and a tiny smile tugged at his lips. "It's fine Rhodes. I was being a bit of a prat." He scooped up a couple of chocolate frogs and put them into his pocket. "My aunt saw us in the joke shop and now my whole family knows." Including Zahra but he didn't say that out loud. "They've been making a big fuss."
So much for their secret snogging session.
He picked up the last of his purchases but he stayed down on the floor with her. "We friends again?" He placed his hand in front of her and opened his fingers to reveal an ice mice sitting on his palm.

"Prefects? Two per house, although if you're lucky, you have fewer." Lucky? It was just nonsense coming out of his mouth right now. Y'know who was lucky? Ravenclaw, for having great, involved prefects. Lucky was just... the wrong word entirely. And yet...
"What did your step-brother tell you?" It sounded like the kid was name dropping, which was dead amusing. Mo tried not to smirk as he waited for the great wisdom imparted by an imaginary step-brother. "I don't have fireworks, sadly. It isn't hard to make them, but I'd need my Potions supplies and a place to set up the cauldron, so I"m afraid it will have to wait."

She beamed over Mo's shoulder at the other kid, giving Mo's hair a ruffle and adjusting herself to a position on his back that would likely be more comfortable for him, she thought, but still clung to him like it was a totally casual, comfortable thing for her.
"Cat is my lovely, but you are definitely the prettiest of the pretties. You can't argue with me on this one, kiddo," Mo tried to pat her on the head, although he ended up just scratching his ear instead. Sigh. Why was bestest little second year out of his reach?
"I can teach you French. I'm already teaching it to Caterina, and I did spend two terms at Beauxbatons. And I dunno if I want you talking about me to someone I want hiring me for a job someday. Did you say anything nice?"
And was she aware that she was choking him a bit? Mo backed up against to prop her against the wall. "My summer was good. I had a photography camp, and I tried out for the England U-17 team. And my birthday. You get me a present, kid?"

Rhodes was definitely agreeing with him on that one.
He had been being a prat. Probably the biggest prat ever! But even though she agreed, she wasn't going to say anything about it to him. Only because of the fact that she had been acting the same way and she really didn't want him to call her out on it again. Merlin. He had wanted to punch her in the face! Sure, it was funny now, because her face was still attached to her head, but he had still said it. And she was pretty sure he really meant it, too.
At least he kind of had a good reason for the way he acted. She didn't. Rhodes paused in her picking up all his stuff for a moment, to just stare at Michael, and not really knowing what to say, because she wasn't about to apologize for it, she went back to cleaning up. She handed him everything that was in her hands before scooting back against the wall and leaning against it.
If people needed to walk by her, they just better watch where they were going. Because she wasn't moving.
"What's the big deal? It was only a kiss." Or two. She peeked over at him from the corner of her eye and a smile made it's way onto her face as she saw what he had in his hand. She didn't even hesitate to reach over and grab it. "I guess so. But next time we stop being friends, it's going to take more than one ice mice for me to forgive you."

“Oh dahhling.... you musnt confuse lectures with monologues. The audience usually learn something from lectures... monologues usually just puts them to sleep.” Cue the fake yawning “In any case, I believe it would be the wisest decision that we agree to disagree on this matter; after all as much as I would like to educate you on the wide variety of rude hand gestures, I believe you are much too young to appreciate its value in a location where it would likely be devalued.” She means Hogwarts of course.
Oh so she is buying her a sandwich? Cue the sweetest of smiles “Well then dahhling... there is that saying about friends and enemies isnt it?.... Now then shall we be on our way?”

He wasn't expecting her to apologise for their kissing. And he hoped that she didn't think he regretted it or anything because he didn't. He actually quite enjoyed it and wouldn't mind trying it again. Maybe not here on the train though.
And although he was still in a bit of a mood he couldn't help but chuckle a little. "Yeah I know that, but it was my first kiss and apparently that's a big deal in my family." Who knew something so small could cause such a reaction. Maybe it was because he was the eldest of the kids and everything that he did was going to be before all the others so there was going to be fuss made. "Dad was rather chuffed that it was with a Slytherin."
Michael wiped his hand onto his jeans to get the sticky residue from the ice mice off and another chuckle made its way out of his mouth. "What's it going to take then Merivel?" He dipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out a chocolate frog and began to unwrap it. He usually saved these for when he was with Alexa but he was hoping a bit of chocolate might make him feel better.

Ehh. Rhodes didn't know why Mikey would get so upset over something like that. But seeing as no one in her family, not that she had much of a family, knew about her first kiss, she couldn't really understand to say that to him, could she? Although, she didn't think she would have been even the tiniest bit phased if they had made a big deal out of it. It was only a kiss. It wasn't something to be ashamed of. And it wasn't like it meant anything. She wondered if he had mentioned that.
He probably did, though. It seemed like something he would say.
She gave him a shrug of her shoulders, and leaning over towards him, she gave his cheek a pinch. "They're just excited to see you growing up, that's all!" There was a grin on her face, to let him know she was only messing around, and after pinching him a second time, she went right back to her spot against the wall. "Was your dad a Slytherin?" Obviously he was. Why else would he be so happy about that?
And.. she hadn't thought about that. Even though, with the way they were friends one minute, then enemies the next, it was probably something she should have thought about. Hmm.. She turned the ice mice over in her hands a few times as she considered the question before sitting the thing onto her knee and poking it with her finger. To make sure it would stay right where it was and wouldn't fall off. "I guess that would depend." Hehe. She turned her head and smiiiiirked over at him. "How badly would you want to be my friend again?" She could get all the ice mice she wanted out of him!
