In fact, his good ear was down on the cushion, so the noise was even more muffled and his bad ear, well, it really didn't hear anything at all. It wasn't until Hershel came barreling over him chasing after a fly, jumped on the astronomer's face, and took off towards the other end of the office that the man actually work up. Smacking his dry lips together, he reached for his cane and waved it in the air at no one in particular.

"Blasted ferret, I was trying to take a nap," he groaned as he hobbled towards the door and swung it open. "Go terrorize someone else for a little while, you rodent," he said to the empty seating area as he tried to shoo the creature out. Well, he thought the area was empty...until he saw the young Slytherin sitting there. "Ah, Miss Wayne, I did not see you there. Hello."

Having not seen whom or what professor Airey was talking to, Bev's eyes widened. Had he...had he just called her a rodent? Wide multi-colored eyes blinked at him. It sort of broke her heart that he saw her like that. Wasn't she the cute little fox? How could he--

A ferret ran pass her feet.

Oh. Heh. Well. She wasn't the rodent. Turns out Airey was really talking to one. Hah. Never mind. No tears. No broken heart.

Masking her previous startled expression, Beverly grinned a tiny bit. "H-Hi." She stood up and walked over to him. "I...I just wanted to see how you were doing and--" she glanced down at the box and card in her hands, then thrust them forward to him. "I brought you this." The Slytherin's cheeks flushed a faint rosie color.

He did like cupcakes and cards, yeah?

See Nigel was going to hand in this parchment full of jokes. He said he would after all. To himself at least. Flamsteed's office was not far from his common room and that was one of the main reason besides it was fun. All these jokes are horrible. Really horrible. What do planets like to read?

He did say he wanted big text. And besides that this was kind of a first time for this sort of thing. Since he rarely goes to Professor's offices anymore after classes finish. An incident with Lafay had left a bad taste in his mouth to this sort of thing. Nigel knocked on Flamsteed's door louder than he would usually. Due to the fact that Flameo was aging more rapidly than him.

It seemed wise.

Now to sit on one of those comfy couches and read through his parchment waiting.

As soon as class ended, Alice had ditched her things in the common room and headed for the Astronomy Tower. Her mind was very scattered at the moment, but it obviously made sense to go to Airey, for obvious reasons and then some. He was the professor she trusted most, and sometimes it felt as if the man was more of a friend than a teacher, so it was a given.

But waiting. That was so much effort, and him going old and all, he'd probably not even hear her knock.

So Alice kicked the door instead. Open up, sir.

Grumbling to himself as Hershel scurried under the sofa - clearly not somewhere that he could go not to mention even attempt to considering that his back would go out -his blue eyes softened quite a bit when he was greeted by the young Slytherin.

"Ah, very kind of you," he grinned back at her. "Still some life left in these, er, bones." OOOOOOOH! BAKED GOODS! "Sweet solstice, did you make these yourself?"

"Can I help you?" he grumbled before smacking his old flabby lips together.

The professor had actually been asleep on the sofa when the KICKING had occurred. Grumbling and cursing under his breath, he grabbed his wand and flicked it towards the door for it to open. Not bothering to get up just yet, effort and his bones were pretty much melted into the sofa, he opted to just shout from his lying down position.

Making his way up towards the tower.. Javy couldn't help grumbling at the long hike, it was a good thing he wasn't susceptible to nosebleeds with this trip here. It hadn't been that long since he gave Airey the elderly men essentials. Unexpected however was on his need for more of them, hence his arrival.

Eventually he made it, rapping his knuckles against the door to knock before plomping himself down on the sofa whilst holding onto the box for the Space Man. Mmm.. comfy. Hopefully he wouldn't take too long answering, Javy's brows were starting to feel a little heavy already.

Airey had been doing some....laundry in his office. The sort that he didn't want the house elves or anyone else doing just in case gossip started spreading about the castle. It was bad enough that it was on his own conscious. Why couldn't his apparent memory loss be a bit more selective and make him forget THIS instead of important things like names and important appointments?

Stopping midscrub when he heard the knocking on his door - thank you good ear - the astronomer hobbled his way over and opened it. "Jarvey!" Quick glance at the box. "Oh thank MERLIN."

Mm.. so comfy.. Javy thought, as his eyelids were beginning to close. I should get these in my barnyard and office.. Already images were floating dreamingly until the door open. Not that he heard it, but a certain aroma filling the tiny grayhairs in his nose did the waking. Yeah, it was that strong.

Ferrets were smelly creatures, was the Care of Magical Creatures professor aware of that?

"Not...exactly...but heading that direction now that I have these," he grinned back. Only he now saw what size the man had brought and........what? "XL? I may drown in these things. Is this what size you use?"

It was a good thing that Javy was not offended over the odour. The barnyard itself didn't smell lemony fresh all the time from all the winged horses and hippogriff living in there. Still though, the new scent was a little concerning. Just what had been going on in the Space man's office, he did and did not want to know.

"Well.. good." He figured it couldn't get any worse now, right? Scratch that, he had gotten the wrong size. "Oh.." Javy however was not going to risk breaking a hip trecking back down the towers to his office and then back. He was much too tired too for the summoning charm as well. "Sorry, Aaron, I must of mixed yours up with Piers...tan.... Yeah, Pierstan my cousin." Whoops, wrong name aand lame secret spillage coverage. Better to just get to solving the dilemma.

"Well, we can fix that, just'll have to shrink it unless you want to wear it on the outside.." Hmm... it was an interesting thought now. "You could pull off the super hero look."

Airey ended up turning around to see if the Creatures professor was talking to someone else, only to obviously find that there was no one else around. Poor bloke. He had clearly lost his marbles. "Pierstan? That isn't a creature name." He was bad at Creature studies and knew THAT much. Come on Jarvey, you weren't going to pull the wool over this guy's eyes. He WAS a rocket scientist after all.

"I could REALLY be Star Man then!" he mused as he eyed the box. No way he was opening this without magic. So wand out it was as he severed the tape and then pulled out the topmost diaper. "Rather counterproductive though, isn't it? Wearing them on the outside... Here, give me your shoulder so I can balance on you while I slip this on."

Did he catch on Javy's unintentional slip up? ".. no, you're right it's not." Guess Pierstan wasn't a subtle coverup. Was he going to stretch this out? Javy didn't know, but he was somewhat grateful on the next diversion.

The Air man before him was an alright guy, he knew his stuff and Javy would be a fool to not want to hang around him. They had a lot to learn and rub off each other. And yes, he WAS serious about going to the end of term feast in costume. They weren't getting any younger, so may as well, right?

"Stellar," he grinned, giving his colleague two thumbs up. "Question is...are we now the sort of superheros that wear masks? Capes? Ceremonial headdresses?"
