Swallowing hard quite suddenly at her question, he tried not to choke on the air he was breathing while he answered. "Me? No. Not terribly. Why?"

What with all the parchments he had been holding when he'd come out of his office, she expected her question to a random toss in the dark. "I don't know." she spoke softly, inattentive to the fact that her thumb was tracing his as her shoulders shrugged up innocently. "I mean, ve could do something or...something, if you vonted to."

Yeah, about those papers. Airey had pretty much forgotten entirely about them. He wasn't even sure where exactly they were at the moment either. On the floor? Stuck to the door? Under the sofa? It didn't really matter to him at the moment. Despite it being important research. He would probably be thrown into a panic later.

"OF COURSE! I mean sure...I mean yes...I mean...what?" he rambled before rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "You um...want to come in for a little?" he finally asked as he nodded towards his office's door.

Bouncing just a little when she squeezed his hand, he took an eager step towards the door and pulled it open with his other hand. This was certainly proving to be a surprising afternoon. In a good way. A very good way. A stellar way.

Now just hope he didn't ruin it by suggesting they talk some more about Star Trek or something. His nerdish intellectual passions always seemed to get in the way of things.

Pushing open the door, ears a little red still, he gazed upon Medea with a somewhat goofy grin. "After you."

"Oh, vhy thank you." she grinned, bending at the knees somewhat for half a playful curtsy before stepping inside his office, tugging him along. Not breaking in this time. Actually invited inside. With permission. She was very proud of herself if she did say so...herself.

Hearing that Professor Flamsteed's back was doing better now, Lux decided that it was a good time for her to head over and see how he was doing, as well as give him a few things. Namely a hug, a card she had made for him, and a few Chocolate Frogs.

Stopping right outside the door, she gave it a few raps with her fist and waited for the Professor to greet her.

The hardest part about all this was getting up, which is what the man did with a few loud grunts, after putting his book down on his desk. He had been hoping today would be the day that he would no longer require the aid of a cane to walk, but it wasn't. This was going to prove interesting for the dance lessons he would be holding next week.

"Miss Carrington, hello, what can I do for you?" he asked after opening the door and peeking his head out.

When the Professor peeked his head out, Lux worried that she had inconvenienced him because it was clear that his back was still bothering him. But she had so wanted to give him his stuff and was not going to leave until she had since he had already gotten up. "Hello, Professor Flamsteed. I have stuff for you!" She held out the Chocolate Frogs and the card so that he could see them. Of course he did not know about the hug he would receive as soon as he opened the door properly.

Curiosity getting the better of him, he pulled the door open entirely and took a hobbled step out of his office to get a closer look at this 'stuff'. A smile a light year wide spread across his face. "Chocolate frogs, you remembered," he chuckled as he reached for them and the card. Right. Manners first. He focused on the card and read over the girl's kind words and stellar sense of humor. "This is fantastic, Miss Carrington. Would you like to come in and we can share these chocolate frogs over some tea?"

Unless she was in a hurry.

Aww, the poor man was hobbing.

That made Lux sad, because he was so nice and funny and he was her favourite Professor. She wanted him to feel all better! "Of course I remembered!" Was he silly or something? She did not forget when she made promises of Chocolate Frogs to people! That would be cruel. "I'm glad you like your card and chocolates." She beamed at him, thinking that it was really cool that he loved space even though his class had made her brain feel that it would go BOOM like the Big Bang Theory.

"I would love to come in, yes." Carefully she gave him a Lux hug, while making sure she did not hurt his back even more than it already was. Done that, she waited patiently for him to step inside first, because he should not be rushed in his condition.

She often got the blame when sweet things went 'missing' for whatever reasons. Reasons that typically the astronomer was the only one who knew the truth to.

"Then come on in," he gestured with his free hand. "Just finishing boiling some hot water."

Sander had heard that Professor Flamsteed was no longer in the Hospital ward and was accepting visitors, so here he was to say hello and to give him a get well gift. He felt bad that the man had been in so much pain and empathized with him. Sander was carrying a fruit basket in one hand and a plate of hot English scones in the other....courtesy of the House Elves. He had two other gifts in his backpack.

He stepped up to the door of the Professor's office and knocked on it.

Then he found a seat and waited for the Professor to answer.

Ironing board out, the professor was right in the middle of ironing some of his ties when he heard the two knocks at the door. He looked down at his incomplete work and, despite hating leaving something in the middle unfinished, he put the iron down and gave it a tap with his wand to have it begin cooling off.

Scratching his head as he walked slowly towards the door with his cane, he leaned against it and attempted to open it. But pushing on a pull door meant that nothing other than some soft thumping of wood on wood occurred. Oops. Sorting his balance out, he pulled the door open finally and greeted the seventh year with a smile. "Mr. Strand, good day," he greeted before taking notice of everything the boy brought with him. "And here I thought it was customary to bring an apple for the professor."

He meant that as a joke. A lame one. But still a joke. The fruit basket was throwing him a little.

"What can I do for you?"

Sander quickly stood up when he heard the door open and saw Professor Flamsteed back on his feet...and definitely standing upright now, despite having to rely on the cane for the moment.

"Good morning, Professor, I just wanted to stop by to see how you were doing? Apple?" Sander was taken aback for a second before he quickly recovered.

"Oh I think I have an apple or two inside this fruit basket, which I brought up for you, along with these freshly baked English scones." Sander lifted up both the fruit basket and the plate of scones for the Professor to see.

"I figured that it still must be hard to move around, even with a cane, so I thought I'd bring some food up for you." Sander quickly explained.

.....oh yes, the other two gifts. Placing both fruit basket and plate of scones on the table, Sander quickly dug inside his backpack and brought them out. He held up a large container of fish food in one hand and a scroll of parchment in the other.

"And while I was thinking of food for you, I figured I'd bring some for the fish in your tank. I've heard how important the fish is to you." Sander quickly explained.

'Okay stop blabbering. The Professor doesn't have all day to stand there hearing you list all the get well gifts you brought for him. Just give him the poem and leave behind he falls over his cane.' Sander chastised himself.

"Professor I wrote this Get Well Poem for you. I hope it doesn't sound too cheesy because I'm not really good at writing them. Anyway I just wanted to say I hope you get well soon." Sander handed the parchment over to the Professor.

Then he looked at all the gifts he had brought the Professor. There was no way in heck the poor man was going to be able to carry them all especially when he was already supporting himself with his cane.

"Um....do you need help carrying the other stuff into your office, Professor?" Sander offered.

Now why hadn't he just stuck with one gift? 'Totally overkill, Sander. Totally!' Sander scolded himself again. Looking uncomfortably all over the seating area before turning back to the Professor.

A scone, however, I couldn't possibly turn down." Went far too well with tea.

Airey smiled, and his ears turned a bit red from embarrassment. He certainly hoped that his students did not see him as some sort of helpless human being. Sure, he hadn't been able to do a thing during the dementor attack thanks to that blasted ice cream, and now he was being seen as a cripple thanks to an old back injury...but he was a Gryffindor first. Certainly not helpless. "Oh, well, that was very thoughtful of you. But I manage when the need arises." Just took a long while to get from point A to point B at this point.

His blue eyes widened a bit when he saw that the boy was not done and he squirmed a little in his suit. He really was uncomfortable whenever he received gifts. Even gifts from Medea. He was not a graceful receiver. "Oh, stellar," he beamed. "I'm sure Tiberius appreciates the gesture as well." BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE?!

A....what? A....poem?

Now he definitely was squirming in his suit and trying his best not to show it. Mostly because the squirming stressed his back and that was not something he could really deal with right now. More back ouchies. He accepted the paper with slightly shaky hands and looked back and forth between the two. Parchment and student. Did this mean he should read it...now? Probably, right? Mr. Strand seemed to be looking for some sort of confirmation in regards to his writing. So, after clearing his throat anxiously, he removed a pair of large half moon reading glasses that were far too big for his face and began to read. He actually enjoyed it...up until he wrote about the Headmistress knowing what to do and all that rubbish. Not that he would ever say anything out loud. He quite liked his teaching position, thank you very much.

"On the contrary, Mr. Strand, you are much better with words than I ever was at your age." Or now, but shh. Calculations, equations, theory...those were the words he was good at and those didn't write you any poetry that the average person would understand. "If you don't wouldn't mind helping it would be appreciated," he nodded. He could always just levitate things, but that had not been going so well recently. Lots of accidents thanks to his depth perception being a bit wonky.

HIS hat was still with this Professor and Kevin did not like it. He knew that he should have asked it back after class ended but so many things happened that he had completely forgotten. He was only reminded of it when he looked in the mirror and saw that his grey hair had gotten even more out of control. Not only that, he was also starting to get wrinkles around his eyes. Not laughing wrinkles ..but ..real..old man...wrinkles. And it scared him to no end. He was only eleven!

He couldn't do much to hide the wrinkles but he COULD hide his greying hair. If only he had his hat back. As he reached the door, the Gryffindor tried to open it and step inside. Not thinking about knocking but the door didn't move. Ugh, stupid locks. He sighed heavily as he ran a hand through his not-so-black-anymore-hair and brought his fist up and SLAMMED knocked on the door three times. "YO Prof, open up!"

Airey had been napping peacefully on the sofa in his office with his copy of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? open on his face. He had fallen asleep while reading, something he usually did not do, but he had found himself to be more exhausted than usual recently.

Dreaming about mechanical birds flying through hoops, he woke with a jump when he heard the loud knocking at his door...and rolled right off of the sofa and onto his stomach. Letting out a loud UMPH, he slowly straightened himself and reached for his cane to help him stand.

"What in blazing comets..." he muttered just as he heard shouting outside his office followed by more ruckus. Muttering more to himself, he approached the door, opened it, and GLARED at the noise maker with his wand out. "Petrificus Totalus," he grumbled as the spell shot towards the Gryffindor.

That would hopefully take care of the noise.

Despite the weird fact that the eleven year old boy was aging like a grandpa which totally weirded him out his hearing was still excellent and he stopped his stubborn knocking when he heard noise coming from within the office. Good, the man was here because it would have been a waste if he had walked from the Gryffindor Common Room to the office for nothing and YES that is a LONG walk.

When the door opened, Kevin raised one eyebrow, which also had a few grey hairs, as he wondered why on earth the man was GLARING at him. His different eye colored eyes then looked at the wand pointing right at his chest and he moved fast, reaching for his own inside his wrist holster. Only he had not been fast enough and the body-bind curse hit him. He froze instantly and fell unluckily forward in to the office. His arm crushed under his own weight because he had tried to make a move to grab his own wand before he got attacked and his nose and forehead hitting the floor. It did not hurt at all, but he was sure that when the spell wore off or when the Professor decided to undo it, it would hurt. He was going to make him pay for this the moment he could move again.

'Cause, if a Professor could attack a defenseless first year then HE could attack a Professor back.

Brow still furrowed and arms now folded across his chest, Airey was about to bust out with his index finger, shake it at the boy, and tell him something along the lines of kids these days having no respect for their elders and how they should be thankful they did not have to walk up hill BOTH WAYS in the snow to get to lessons and visit professors and...

Only he briefly came back to his senses and saw the young Gryffindor face first on the floor...stiff as a board. Oh sweet solstice...oh sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet solstice. Okay, nobody...nobody panic...

Arms flailing a bit - causing small cracking noises from his back to happen - he knelt down and tried to pick up the...grey haired boy? Grey? Hmmm... ANYWAY. So he was trying to pick up the boy, but it wasn't working since his arms felt like limp noodles. "Hold on, sport, let's get you inside my office," he said to the boy as he flicked his wand at him once more. Only this time he did so to levitate him through the open door and set him down on the sofa within.

Sport? That was what his grandfather used to call him. And he had hated it.

Delilah waited in the seating area patiently. She was here to see Airey because she had cookies to give him. Yes. She knew he was alright now and it was a little too late to give him a get-well-soon gift but she finally managed to bake some cookies so.. why not? Sooner is better than later, yeah?

She just hoped that the cookies were edible though. Delilah had one and it wasn't really that bad but what if HE didn't like it!? Um. Maybe she should just leave...

Airey hadn't been in his office all morning, instead spending his time in the Tower Patch inspecting the plants and dirt while setting a few things up in the Astrophysics Laboratory for his next lesson of the term. Promises to keep with some of those graduating students and if there was on thing Airey Flamsteed could do it was keep a promise.

Coming back with a small box full of glass jars and bottles of powdered elements levitating along side him, he was a bit surprised to see Miss Starr sitting outside his office and he definitely smelled something....something that resembled baked goods. "Good afternoon, Miss Starr. Do you need assistance with something?"

Oh, Merlin, was she feeling alright? Her cheeks were looking a bit red. Perhaps he should notify the Healer? But that thought was immediately distracted by the word cookie. He was no cookie monster - no blue fur or weird googly eyes - but he did like baked goods. He couldn't bake his way out of a wet paper bag (if that made any logical sense), but so far that didn't seem to be an issue since students were constantly bringing him some. News must spread fast in the castle that the Astronomy professor had a mild sweet tooth.

"Oh, thank you Miss Starr! How very thoughtful of you," he said while wiggling his fingers eagerly. "What sort of cookies are they?"

And could he have one right now?

This was so nerve-racking. She should have just owl'ed professor Airey the 'get well' card and the cupcake, but Mori the owl would have eaten it. The Eurasian Eagle owl could smell food miles away, so she didn't doubt he'd smell the cupcake and rip the box to shreds and eat it.

So now here she was - a white box with a blue ribbon on the lid in her hand - in her best jeans, green cardigan and beanie. The beanie to hide her grey hair. Too bad she couldn't hide the wrinkles at the corners of her mouth. They were hideous.

Breathing in deeply, she knocked on the door lightly then went to have a seat. Setting the white box on the coffee table, she rubbed her damp palms on her legs. No need to be nervous, right? To distract herself she picked up a magazine. StarDate Observer. Cool.
