The Seating Area Outside Professor Flamsteed's Office
|
Delicately placing the smiley face sticky note upon the door, careful not to make contact with the door itself with her fingers, Medea smirked and took a step back, inspecting that it was inevitable that Airey see the little yellow slip. While there were no kitties behind his door this time, and probably won't be ever again (rest in peace Barnabus' previous tail fur), this was the second best thing. Just a minuscule reminder of things...that would bring smiles. Maybe. Well, SHE was surely going to smile. Cause lolz. Chuckling softly to herself, the defense professor tapped her head with her wand, and slowly started to blend in with the wall behind her until she disappeared completely. Leaning on said wall, she gently crossed her arms........and waited. |

Turning around to shut the door, Airey quickly noticed the yellow sticky note with a smiley face on it and instantly turned around and looked around his waiting area without moving another muscle. One thing was for sure was that he was NOT going to touch the door. Nah uh. Couldn't get Airey Flamsteed twice with the same prank Medea Romanos. "Alright...the jig it up. I know you're here somewhere," he chuckled. |
Knock. Knock. Hope had decided to take it upon herself to go around and introduce herself to her professors before classes started. The reason? To make sure that she wasn't like the rest of the first year students AND so that she could find her way to her classes. Wouldn't want to get lost right? After all, no one liked a late Ravenclaw. Her first professor was the Astronomy professor. The reason? It was one of the closest to the common room and she had a set determination to do something she had decided she would do during the feast. She was going to pet his fish whether he let her or not. After all, if it was a real fish the worst that could happen is it would die. If it's a magical fish though, it should be able to live right? It was just a risk she was going to have to take. She approached the office door and gave a quick rap upon it hoping that he, and the fish, were inside. |

Pulling open the door, Airey was met with the sight of an unfamiliar student. A Ravenclaw one at that. He was instantly a little suspicious. "Good afternoon," he greeted her. "How can I help you?" |
Quote:
"I was also curious about the text. I read the first chapter, but found some of the things just a little confusing." She however, did not have a copy of the book on her. Maybe he had one in his office? Is that where the fish was? She peered around him and in through the crack of the door hoping to see her target. |

While a second win at the same prank would have been one for the books, and something she'd never let him live down, there was nothing but a smile upon her face. Even more so since he apparently knew she was there. Did he? Did he really? Did he know she moved away from the wall too? And stopped just a few meager steps from his side? "Are you suuuuuuuuure?" |
Quote:
"Well, Miss Evans, why don't you come on inside and we can have a spot of tea while discussing your textbook questions," he offered as he stepped to the side and gestured inside his office. OOC: you can go ahead and post inside the office now. Welcome <3 Quote:
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Alright. So she could take him down that easily. Literally. Jumping with surprise, and cursing himself for not using Homenum Revelio, Airey stumbled backwards and landed with his back against his door, left arm raised above his head, and his wand arm cross in front of him with his palm over his heart - wand pressed against him. "P-Positive," he replied once he caught his breath. She HAD asked him a question and there was no mistaking her voice. |
Quote:
She was not......WHO would expect THAT!?? With a half step backwards and hands held to her heart, Medea stared at the startled man. Staaaared! Goodness to Merlin, she was supposed to get HIM, not the other way around. Not that she was startled or anything. Ahem. Reflexes. Instinct. Human nature! "Good gosh, Airey." she laughed, relaxing after the initial shock wore off. Tapping her head with her wand once more, she started to reappear as she bit her lip to try and stop herself from cracking up any more. Though her eyebrows knitted together in sooome concern. "You alright?" |
Quote:
His blue eyes looked at his left arm and then back towards Medea, his eyes narrowing and his lips pursing. So the invisible surprise reminiscent of jumping out behind something and saying BOO was NOT the joke? He tried to move his legs next, only to find that those were stuck to the door as well. "You didn't," he said, a tone of forced agitation in his voice laced with amusement. "You know you are breaking one of my classroom rules right now, right? I should throw you in detention." But hey, at least he still had his wand so he could remove the spell. |
Adelaide made her way up the astronomy tower stairs. She was going to have to get used to doing this again. She'd gotten quite a bit out of shape over the summer which was not good with quidditch season approaching fast. She was going to have to work out to make sure she could still keep up with everyone. But that wasn't going to stop her from visiting her favorite professor and dropping off some baked goods she'd accumulated over the first few days. She had nothing better to do than bake because there was no way she was going to be studying anytime soon. Her brain was still pretty fried from OWLs...and those were months ago. Adelaide knocked on the door before taking a seat on one of the leather sofas. She adjusted her bag, making sure not to tip over the food containers inside. |
Altair thought the Astrology Professor might have a little more insight on a problem he was having, but there seemed to be a line. He thought he would just wait, but decided that he would just come back another time. |
Quote:
Needless to say, he would not need to expand the area by magical means as there was more than enough space. Just needed to momentarily do something with the giant telescope in the middle of the room. Doing a Natural Turn from the Viennese Waltz into the seating area with his invisible dance partner, he froze with a complete deer in headlights look when he saw the Slytherin pâtissier. "Miss Adams...hello." Awkward wave. |
Quote:
Crossing her arms, she leaned against the non-sticky door frame opposite him, eyebrow raising, but nothing short of merriment upon her face. She was breaking one of his classroom rules? Hmm? "And vhich rule vould that be?" |
Quote:
She turned as she heard someone approaching the office...and then bit her lip as she saw Flamsteed...dancing. Well, that's what it looked like to her. Adelaide just smiled when he noticed her. It was quite obvious he was embarrassed. "Hello professor." Right. Awkward. "I came up here because I made brownies and wanted to see how your summer went." Brownies would fix things right? |
Quote:
"The one that says to NOT touch the suit," he grumbled as he pointed his wand at his other arm and prepared to cast Finite when logistics and technicalities got the best of him. "Although...I suppose you are not actually touching it...so I couldn't really throw you in detention on a technicality. Perhaps I need to reword that rule just a tad." Pondering this, he gave his wand a flick to finally release himself before giving Medea an approving nod. "Well played, Medea." Of course he would have to get her back. Now just to think of what. "Did you come all the way up here just to make me your prisoner?" he asked with a thumb jab at his door and a small boyish smirk. Not that she needed to make him stick to a door for that because, well, he kind of already was. And that thought may have caused the astronomer's cheeks to flush. Just a little. Quote:
He then gave his wand a flick towards the door to unlock his office and have the door swing open towards them. "After you." OOC: you can go ahead and post inside the office now. Welcome <3 |
Quote:
Make him her prisoner.......ahem. Giggling softly, she shook her head somewhat, brushing a stray wavy hair behind her ear. "Oh, I vouldn't haff repeated a minor prank if that vere the case." His suits may stay in the equation if that never-going-to-happen-whut situation ever came to pass though. Or maybe just the tie. The one he was wearing. Leaning away from the door frame, she stepped right up to the Astronomy professor, gaze fixated on the interesting fabric momentarily before trailing up to blue eyes. No touchie the suitie, right. "Your suit okay?" |
Quote:
He swallowed nervously when she moved closer. "Oh, s-so there was something else on the agenda?" he asked while absently playing with his tie. "No, I think it has a little boo-boo," he replied with a boyish smile. Did he really just say boo-boo? |
Quote:
"Not that I planned." Clasping her hands behind his back, her head tilted curiously to the side a little. "Is it better now?" Hugs made things better? |
Quote:
"Light years," he nodded, his voice cracking just a tad from the nervous feeling bubbling in his stomach. "Would it, ahem, do you think that, er, ahem, would it be too, um, u-unprofessional if I were to...um...." He glanced around his seating area just to double and triple check things. "If I were to kiss you right now?" |
Quote:
Though the blushing barrier abruptly cracked, invading her cheeks with just enough rosy red to add color to her pale skin. Ahem. Right...right there? Now? Despite really getting the hang of the whole not going cherry face and all, those butterflies were a different story. "I, erm..." That, would depend on, how much the coast was clear...right? And, after a glance around for a quadruple check, it was deemed very clear. "No one's looking." |
Quote:
Why were human being such complex living organisms? Swallowing, he figured that this was just one of those times where instinct and that gut feeling of what ought to be done was the way to go. No thinking or analyzing - which was very hard for the man, let me tell you. So, hand still resting lightly on her cheek, he leaned forward and surrendered to the moment by kissing her with a soft strength that was unfamiliar to him, but also very welcoming. |

heh, we have her thinking in astro terms ... sort of *brows* Quote:
So it was with great reluctance that he pulled back and rubbed her cheek softly with his thumb. "Wow," he whispered, his blue eyes twinkling every so slightly while his thumb continued to softly stroke her cheek. |
Quote:
Unconsciously biting the side of her lip, she gently tugged Airey's hand away from her cheek and back to their sides, taking a quick glance around the area in general. Ahem. "Are you...terribly busy?" Right nooow? |
