When not in use for games, the pitch is open to students and staff alike. Here is the place to practice your Quidditch skills before attending team tryouts or to simply take a joy ride. No Quidditch equipment is available for use. Anyone who wishes to use any Quidditch equipment must get permission from Professor Tyner before borrowing it from the broomshed. Failure to abide by this simple and practical safety rule will result in loss of House points. Those who repeatedly break this rule will receive detention and/or lose privileges to be on the practice pitch.
Once the Quidditch season officially begins, team Captains can contact Professor Tyner to reserve the field for practices and non-team members can watch practices occur. When practices aren't in session, the pitch is open for all students and staff.

He shrugged a bit, "You know it's not so bad, some of the girls don't like to shut up so I don't have to hear them chattering and professor are less annoying." So honestly it was a win in some ways.
"I'll grab a quaffle." He zoomed down to the ground and hurried to the shed grabbing an extra quaffle and making his way back up. "Think fast" He tossed the quaffle and instantly regretted it. Bay couldn't see well crap he hoped the boy saw the quaffle coming at him. The twelve year old flew towards him just in case he needed to help steady his broom or something.
"Age doesn't matter?" He shrugged it was weird, but all of relationships were weird. "I will not, I'm not dealing with that crap. What's so great about it. You act all weird and then one or the other finds someone else and the other is hurt, nope forget it." His mother proved that it was a waste of time. He wasn't going to even deal with that drama. Plus quidditch was what he was staying focused on. So he did kiss her, "Well I guess if you like her than it's fine that you did." er he really wasn't sure what else to say about it. "Unless you kissed her as a joke like I did Captain Alice and Bra girl." That was epic and funny, so he could see a joke in kissing a second year too.
ohh yeah the healer why didn't Bay think about that before.."thats a very good idea maybe I should stop by and visit to the healer" he said while flying around the pitch. Listening to Bart explain the good part of not being able to hear he laughed.. "Bart your awesome did you know that?" don't have to listen to girls or professors… only Bart would say something like that..
seeing him speed off to grab a quaffle he smiled.. he was so eager…. and then..
QUAFFLE COMING RIGHT AT HIS FACE
Bay quickly took out his wand and quickly shouted "Immobulus" watching the ball stop right before it hit his face.. breathing heavily.. he saw Bart right next to him… " ughhhh I'm okay… no injuries" he said while putting his arm out to grab it… "Maybe my eye sight is better that i think?" he said out loud.
"We will see Bart" he winked at him while he was still on the topic of girls.. "its all up to you" he didn't want to talk any more about the subject.. he knew his little lion friend wanted to get busy flying.. less talking about girls… "it wasn't a joke" he replied taking in that he just told Bay that he kissed Alice.. their captain.. and who ever that other person was… he had no idea.. "do you want go like 40 feet away from me and we can pass this" he said while tossing the quaffle up and down in his hand.

[b] “You should go to the healer, it would do you some good, plus we can’t have you not seeing that snitch. You have to have your best eyes for that match.” Claws were scary good, but Bay was brilliant. He had faith in the seeker, but only with his best eye sight. So he would make sure to force Bay to see the healer if needed. Did he just call him awesome? “Of course I knew.” Big grins went to Bay and Bart’s ego ways shined through.
“NICE STOP” Maybe he didn’t need glasses after all, the older boy was good with his wand and a broom. Maybe he could teach him the wand stuff. [b] “good.. good. I don’t need Alice to send me on laps or something worse.” “Yep it totally is dude.” His eyes had to be alright to pull that off.
“Yeah I guess we will see, but still I’m not dating.” No way no how, “Girls are weird and they like to be weird around you.” He had noticed the weird of Emmy and Lux at that match. Not that he understood it, but he saw it. Why did they have to be so weird and why did guys have to kiss them and make them weirder. “Not a joke?” He couldn’t help, but question again, “Alright then if you like her like that than I guess okay.” Not sure what else to even say about it really.
He looked around and leaned zooming forward until he thought he was about forty feet. “IS THIS GOOD ENOUGH?” He yelled as he zoomed a bit more. Steadying himself on his boom and watching for Bay to pass the quaffle. His eyes never leaving Bays hands he waited. “Ready whenever you are.”

"yeah maybe after this i'll go see her" looking around he was happy there weren't to many people around today, he just didn't seem quite himself… maybe he was getting sick.. and he hoped not tomorrow they were playing Ravenclaw and he wanted to be at his best.. Laughing at Bart he smiled..
"thanks.. you could have given me more a heads up dude" he winked at him while tucking the Quaffle under his arm while they talked. "oh yeah i can totally see Alice seeing that and getting real mad..but i don't think she would send you to do laps" he hoped Alice was real nice and very understanding, she wouldn't send him on laps for an accident… well almost accident.
"okay" Bay rolled his eyes at him.. if he ever saw Bart with a girl he will remember this conversation to bring up with him then… just to kind of rub it in his face, he grinned. Bay nodded to his repeating of "not a joke" and he was kind of happy that Bart seemed okay with it.. but he didn't want to talk about girls now..
Seeing him zoom away he heard him call to Bay.. "yeah thats fine" he yelled while taking the ball from under his arm and shouted "ready" and he tossed the Quaffle to his little lion friend.

That was great that Bay was going to go see the healer. The match was important and he needed to be able to see EVERYTHING! He continued to fly around on his broom watching Bay do the same. He was alright to be playing and stuff, right? He had to be.
There was certainly chuckling going on, because Bay would have taken that Quaffle good, “Dude you’re the seeker, you should be ready for anything. The power of surprise, it’s what I’m best at.” That’s what he liked to think of it as. His broom turned towards Bay at his words, “Not make me do laps? You know she did during tryouts for something that happened in class, right? She’s tough, that’s what makes her hot.” Did he just say that out loud? He blushed and turned his broom going further away.
Hearing him say that he was far enough Bart turned back towards Bay and just hoped he didn’t hear the hot comment. Watching he waited for the quaffle and moved to the left just a bit to catch it in his hands. “Nice throw, if you weren’t such an epic seeker I’d say you should be a chaser.” He flew a bit further before tossing it back.

"yeah thats true" he said while laughing.. yup he would be going to the healer for sure now.. because what if people wanted to test his eyes out and start throwing stuff at him.. "Yeah your always good at that" he said while tightening his grip on his broom.
"really.. I must have not been at that try out" he said while laughing.. he could only picture it.. wait what…. "Bart did you just say that Alice is hot???" this shocked him… weren't they just having a conversation about girls and he was saying how gross it was when people were together as a couple… Bay looked around to see if any pigs were flying.. and nope.. none were around…
"sure…... nice cover up there Bart…. thanks for the flattery… but were going back to that comment.." he said.. with his eye brows raised… leaning back on his broom he crossed his arms..

He was glad Bay was listening about the healer. It was better to get those eyes check then mess things up at the match. Flying around the twelve year old nodded happily that his older friend was going to listen. Then laughing as he agreed about the power of surprise. "It's an awesome thing to be good at. Keeps everyone on their toes."
He enjoyed making people stay on their toes. "Yeah mean to Botros once and she had me doing laps. All I did was ask a simple question. It had no reason to get me kicked out of class or laps at tryouts." He could have just not gone, but he loved quidditch. No way would he not be playing. His face turned like a tomato when Bay questioned the Alice comment. "Well yeah.. she's hot." He wasn't lying. Seriously go look at her.
Rolling his eyes he stuck out his hands. "You going to throw or what?"
Derry was in a fantastic mood today... for some reason. She wasn't exactly sure why, she just felt good. Probably cause Quidditch. Practice always made her happy, even the ones when West just made them run around the pitch. Maybe it was the exercise, releasing endorphins or whatever. Anyway, it didn't really matter, it was just nice to be in a good mood. She hummed a happy tune to herself as she walked onto the pitch with her broom, a little skip in her step.
Seemed she was first here actually... yes! That meant she could do some flying 'just cause' before they had to practice properly. Derry mounted her broom and kicked off, flying straight up for a bit before hanging in the air, swinging her legs a bit. She took a deep breath... it was so nice to be in the air, it put a huge smile on her face and filled her with energy... which she utilised pretty much immediately by starting to fly around the pitch, practicing a few bits and bobs, but mainly just enjoying flying. She almost wished she wasn't going to have to stop. But practice was fun too...

West wasn't too far behind since he liked to be early. He had the equipment chest floating along in front of him, and his broom slung over his shoulder. He was always eager for practice and right now he needed it to clear his head. Using Quidditch to distract from Quidditch thoughts. Made perfect sense.
And there was Derry already airborne. He deposited the equipment chest a,d gave it a hearty kick, waking the Bludgers up to the point where they were already trying to escape and the chest was shaking with their movement.
He sat on it and waited for the others to show, keeping one eye on Derry as she looped around above.

Theo tagged along just behind West on his walk to the pitch, but was distracted the whole way by a stone on the floor that he was kicking. Once he had arrived, he sighed as he saw Derry already whirling around in the sky. Well, someone was eager this morning. Theo, himself, was feeling quite lazy, so he certainly wasn't ready to just jump straight into things. His excuse was that he had only just recovered from having sickness, so he had given himself a week off from flying.
He dropped his broom gently and jogged over to where West was sitting. "Hey." He was eager to catch up with West, because he needed details about stuff and it was very difficult when you were stuck on your death bed.
*DRAMATIC*
Theo stretched an arm over his head and held it for a few seconds, then did the same with the opposite arm. Gotta get those warm ups done first, of course.

Quidddith practice. That made Grace happy. Quidditch was one of her favorite things at hogwarts. Though it was making her bones ache. The sooner she was back being her actual age, the better. Because then she could get on with things. Like being a better beater. Because she wanted to be a beater. She totally was going to get her mom to buy her a bat, so that she could practice over the summer. so that once she was bigger she could be a good beater.
But anyway. She was excited for quidditch. She hummed to herself, as she walked down to the practice pitch with one of the school brooms. She wanted her own broom too, but she figured her mom wasn't going to be up for buying her one. So she'd be using a school broom for a while. Entering the practice pitch she smiled. Ahh. There was her Captain, and was that Derry up in the air already. "Hi guys." The first year smiled.

It didn't take long for people to appear - in fact, West had turned up pretty much as soon as she'd got into the air and she'd seeeen him watching, but Derry had just taken the time to finish her own personal little practice before she floated down slowly to the ground and hopped off her broom. "Hey guys." she said, beaming at West, Theo and... Grace? It was Grace right? Or it could have been Gabby... Derry never was good with names... Especially ones which weren't super fun to say like West Odessaaaaaaaah... and she hadn't really had a proper conversation with the girl, but oh well, she was pretty sure she'd figure it out eventually.
"Everyone alright?" The Grace kid (yeah, let's go with that, it was probably right) was smiley and everything, but Theo was doing his grumpy thing... Not that that was anything new. But still, she wanted everyone to be feeling as awesome and exhilarated as she did today.
Quidditch was just one of those things that- even though Ascanius was open to the idea of heights now- the sixth year was not going to run down to the pitch to be the first guy at practice, yeah? Now after playing three years of the thing, West was lucky if Ascanius showed up five minutes till. He liked his team, he liked the competitive aspect of it, but Ascanius Stark wouldn't call himself a Quidditch player.
But now that they were getting toward the end of the season, Ascanius figured being on time wouldn't be so much of an inconvenience. 'Course, he wasn't surprised when the some of his team, AKA SNAPS, was already in the air. Jeez, he was hoping they'd ease into practice today. No such luck.
Ascanius leisurely walked over to where the rest of his team was huddled and gave everyone a nod. Sup?
This old stuff is getting old. Asher wanted to be eighteen again. No more aches or pains. No more extremely long naps which wasn't as great as it sounded. Really, it wasn't. Quidditch seemed to help him forget about the pain and the oldness. It was one thing that made him feel young again.
He was at the balding stage now. His hair, it was one of the things he was most picky about dealing with his appearance. He has mastered the combover. He was really starting to look like grandpa Romalotti with it.
Before he left the common room to come to practice, he rubbed the joint cream into his joints. He didn't mind the wrinkles or his balding hair today it was practice so he was good. He had his bat in one hand and his broom in the other swung across his shoulder. He was feeling pretty good. Considering.
As he headed into the pitch he seen that the team was huddled around. He was on time as usual. Moving over to his teammates. "Hey guys, what's up?" He put his stuff down and started stretching Merlin knows if he didn't he'd be so flipping sore in the morning. Plus now he was an unlimber old fart. Who needed as much extra stretching time as he could get.

"Bro. Feeling better?" West had done his best while Theo was sick to make sure his mate was as comfy as possible, including making sure there were house elves on hand for fetching whatever Theo needed, and West himself had tucked him in a few times and totally risked his own health and everything.
That was friendship yo.

"Hi Grace." West greeted the first year, and looked her over, trying to assess the damage so to speak. Gladly most of his team had escaped that old lurgy, the ones that hadn't maybe would learn to be more suspicious in the future and limit the possibility of these things happening to them.
... except for Asher apparently, who was too much like his Hufflepuff other half to get suspicious like ever.

Yeah and there was Asher... looking terrible. It was sad.
Bringing the team aesthetic down, did he know? Especially given how much himself and Ascanius, and Theo prided themselves on appearance. And hair. Having good hair. What was up with Asher's hair?
"There are spells for that." He POINTED at the comb over. If Asher got on the game roster, he'd have to make some sort of cosmetic effort too, they had appearances to keep up.

"Alright, we'll stretch and warm up while we wait for the others." Adelaide... the Newells... Rhodes... not that Astrid girl, since West had kicked her off the team for lack of dedication and all that. Didn't matter how good she was if she didn't follow his instructions or bother to show up to things. And maybe it let the others know he wasn't messing around either.
He put his broom down and joined Theo and Asher with stretching.

It didn't take Snaps very long to join the rest of them, but Ascanius couldn't help but notice that the rest of them were very small in number. Where was the rest of their team, yeah? He was pretty sure that they had a bigger team then the people who had showed up. Mostly 'cause he had played with them all. S'weird.
Not that he'd ever comment on it.
He silently nodded back to West and started to stretch with the rest of the guys as they waited for everyone else to stop being lazy and get to practice. They had the biggest game of the season on Saturday. Or had everyone else forgot?

He smiled at every teammate that had joined them, and also Derry who landed herself to do some stretching. Should've done that FIRST, you know. Theo gave the odd wave, too, but wasn't feeling overly sociable this morning. Saving his words for the game, yup.

Theo smiled genuinely at his bestie, as he was pretty much the only person who actually cared about Theo and his health. He was also probably the only one that noticed that he had been totally bedridden and ABSENT all week, too. Yes, he was feeling better, thank you to everyone on the pitch who HADN'T asked already. "Yeah, tons... bit of a scratchy throat but nothing a bit of good ol' quidditch can't cure." He SIGHED. Not really, the cold air would likely make it worse but #yolo he needed to get back into the swing of things.
This was quite a big turnout for practice, which naturally made Theo feel a little competitive. Especially with their upcoming game against Hufflepuff. That's the one Theo had been dreading all term, and playing Keeper for it was REALLY nagging on his brain.
He was onto stretching his legs next, and made sure to do every exercise correctly since he was still feeling a little blurry.

Adelaide was running a little late. She couldn't find her bat for the life of her. Apparently her jealous fat cat had hid it under the bed. The last place she looked for it. She grabbed it and pulled on her shoes. She was about to head out when she remembered the brownies she'd made for after practice. She quickly grab the container from her nightstand and rushed down to the pitch.
Addi got there, a little out of breath. But at least she wasn't the last one here. A couple others seemed to be missing. She took a few deep breaths to try and regain normal breathing. "Hey guys. Sorry about that. My cat stole my bat." Sadly it was the truth. She held up the container. "I made these for after practice though." So don't be mad for me being late.
The not so reluctant sixth year captain made his way down to the pitch, broom in hand. He wanted to get in some flying time. To you know, improve his maneuverability, and to just go as fast as he could. Like he was racing again. It had been a long time since he was able to practice either one of those skills. That was something about being a captain yeah? He had to focus on the team during practice, not on just improving himself. Not on having fun.
When he reached the pitch he didn't mount up right away. Instead, he stood at the entrance, studying the pitch, and even the stands. Things... were going to be different. And he had a lot of decisions to make.

Adeline though that it would be a really good idea to get some practicing in before the Badger and Snake match this weekend. Adeline didn't know if she was more nervous for herself or over the fact that she was going to be head to head with her boyfriend. Adeline knew that her and Asher wouldn't be mad about who wins and who loses but she was still very nervous about the outcome. The seventh year badger walked down to the practice pitch with her broom in hand with a smile plastered across her pale face. She really needed to get some color this summer. She hated it when she looked all pale. She wasn't one that looked good pale, she just looked sick.
Adeline ran the rest of the way down to the practice pitch. Was that Kaiden right there? Adeline slowed down her pace and began to walk. She walked up next to him with a smile. "Hey."

Yeah, he might have jumped a little, but she didn't see that right? Hopefully anyways. Its just that Kaiden had not been expecting anyone to come up behind him. Though turning, he was pleasantly to see that it was his teammate. One who he didn't know so well. Didn't he mention he was a horrible captain? "Hey," Nameless person who doesn't have a Kaidname (tm) yet. She needed one, but Chaser girl didn't work so well. But anyways. " Whats up? You know we don't have practice right now yeah? I mean, not an official one or anything."

Adeline smiled around at the pitch. She was going to miss this. She wasn't only going to miss the Quidditch, Adeline was going to miss the classed, the castle, the new friends she made this term...mostly the younger ones. She still couldn't believe that the term was almost over already. Honestly where had all this time gone? Adeline looked over at the captain. "Nothing much, just homework and getting ready for the match." She smiled a bit. "I know we don't. I just got the idea to take out my new broom that I've had since Christmas. I figure it would be nice to break it in before the match. You?" Getting some practicing in before the match would be great as well.

This was ridiculous.
As if there hadn't been enough Quidditch practices, Quidditch practices that were so early in the morning that the birds weren't even awake, there was yet another one. Rhodes was tired. And grumpy. But mostly tired, and the only reason why she even bothered to show up was because she was not going to be the one stuck on laundry duty. Again.
Once was enough for her, so there she was. Trying her best not to yawn and dragging her broom on the ground behind her. She was too tired to even care that her tail twigs were all messed up. It was only practice. She wouldn't play in the game with them like that.
Unless, of course, Captain West wanted her tail twigs in prefect condition now. Because she would be more than happy to sit on the ground and fix them.
If it meant not doing what everyone else was.
Stretching? She was just going to stand back and pretend to touch her toes. And in case anyone was wondering, which she doubted.. "I wasn't the last to arrive." She noticed people missing.
