Cara walked around the campus, before coming upon the paitings. She stared up at them in amazement, the greats of Hogwarts. Her last school had something similar...to a point, but not so many and not so elegant ones.

Hm. Portraits.

Tie-dye hadn't really talked to them. He was usually just swooping by, trying to get to classes on time. But now that he stopped and looked at them, Jun just gazed at it. They were in their own little world when he passed by. Looking at his watch, Jun realized it was still a too early to head down to dinner. It was most likely crowded with eager new students and all that. Shrugging to himself, he sat on the floor, notebook and quill in hand, and began to write. He'll write more letters to his mum about letting them all move out of Norway. He just didn't like it there. And most of his friends were in Seoul. Because it was way better there and food was better too.

"Aleks and I broke up so tell her to stop being all weird..." he mumbled to himself as he wrote. Maybe he'll even write her a letter later.

MAYBE.

Adelaide was aimlessly wandering through the castle, familiarizing herself with her home away from home. She was still pretty prone to getting lost after only being here for a year, but wandering help a lot.

She was walking past the portraits on the first floor when she saw a familiar face. Addi almost didn't recognize him because his hair color was different. He seemed to be pretty lost in thought and she swore she saw him mumble something but he was really her only non-Slytherin friend as of the moment. "Hey Jun. You changed your hair." Simple fact.

Scribble. Scribble.

"Please send more candy. Tell Kai to put in a lot of sour ones too," he mumbled again, oblivious to everything around him. Then Jun started to singing and tap his feet to it. The only one who had heard him sing was his family and Lottie when he taught her piano this summer. Not to mention, he cooked food for her too. Probably the only time they got along. But no one was around this time and his singing was getting a bit to loud. The only ones who could hear him were the portraits. Or so he thought. Just as he was finishing his letter, but continued the singing, there were footsteps.

And a familiar redhead.

"Hey Adelaide," he smiled at her and nodded. Changed your hair. Jun touched his messy hair and grinned. "Yeah, I do that a lot. I'm never conformed with any hair color," Ever since he convinced his parents to let him change his hair color, Jun always had a different color. Since this summer, it had been a reddish brown and recently he was a blonde.

Adelaide smiled as she heard that he was singing. It kind of made her happy that she wasn't the only one that sung out loud when they were doing something. Then again, she also didn't really like when people heard her...so maybe Jun was the same way? She wondered if she should just leave...but nope. He'd already turned around to acknowledge her.

Addi smiled. "I like it. Sometimes everyone needs something a little different." She would never change her hair though. She loved her red hair way too much. Maybe for Halloween or something she'd temporarily change it to try something new. "You have a nice singing voice by the way. I tend to sing when I'm working on things too." Maybe that would make it a not so embarrassing situation.

He nodded. "I like change way too much then. I have a different color every other week, so you might as well get used to it," Jun chuckled and finished the last of his letter. Now to head back to the towers and send it. Ugh, another workout to head back up there. He had to do it anyway to get to the common room anyway. Didn't mean he wanted to. Still, the constant hair dying his why his family called him Tie-Dye now. Jun didn't mind it. He had gotten used to it by now.

He did? "Oh, thanks. I guess I'm okay," Even if he couldn't really hit high notes yet. But he was practicing for it. He did want to do it professionally, but then there was a slim chance at that. "Looks like I'm not alone. Helps with concentrating and blocking things out," Like in the common room. Or his dorm. Though hr was usually alone in there. "Enjoying things so far?"

Addi giggled. "Do you dye it or is it a charm?" For all she knew there could be charms out there to do that sort of thing. It would make it a lot easier than changing your hair color the muggle way. Plus if it was a charm he could teach it to her and she could experiment with things and scare some people a bit.

"Okay? A lot better than most people I've heard singing." Not that she caught many people singing to themselves that often. But Adelaide wanted him to know that she really thought he was good at it. "Exactly. Except I usually end up singing a lot louder than I should...and I honestly don't think I'm that good at it." Wasn't going to stop her though. She enjoyed her music way too much between singing and dancing. She leaned up against the wall. "All right. Actually feels good to be back in the dungeons. How's the tower treating you?"

"When I'm in school, I use a charm. A lot less messy," Jun grinned. And sinceit was, he could change it as much as he wanted to. Took less than three seconds to change the color. It was the best charm Jun had discovered; along with other of course. "Then during breaks I do it the muggle way," Which was terrible. The bleach he put into his hair over the summer to get it blonde smelled gross. But he endured it because it was the color he wanted.

Better than most people she's heard? "You think so? Maybe I'll do it professionally one day, but slim chance at that," And it was true. Too bad his brother wanted to do that same. Jun blamed his parents. Having a parent in the showbiz did that to you. He would go with his mum and Kai to their dad's dance recitals when they were in town. Otherwise, if they were on break, they'd travel along with him. "Are you sure? How about you sing something then and I'll judge, yeah?" Because that's the only fair way to do it. Adelaide had already heard Jun sing out loud. So it was his turn now. "It's good so far. Have to get used to all the climbing again those stairs again,"

So there was a charm to change hair color. "I can see that. My mum dyes her hair all the time and it's just awful. Plus, with a charm it's probably a lot easier to change the color when you want to." Adelaide figured it was better for his hair too. "Because no underaged magic outside of school?" That was the only reason she could think of.

She smiled. "I could see it. I'd be able to say I knew him before he was famous." Not that that was that important to Addi. Just interesting. ...And cue the blushing. She wasn't really one to sing on purpose. Most of the time it just kind of...happened while she was working or baking. "All right." It was only fair he heard her sing too, right? Addi took a deep breath and sang a few lines of one of her favorite songs. She stopped and looked at him, waiting to see how he'd react.

She giggled. "You and me both. I gotta get back in shape before quidditch season starts." Because she hadn't practiced at all during the summer because of living in the muggle world and all that.

"It really does! plus no awful smell to deal with. No waiting. No parents complaining about the mess and all that," Which was amazing because his mum would chase him around the house every time he was dying his hair. His dad would just watch and laugh at the situation. He was always the spectator. But Kai dyed his hair too. Maybe not as much as Jun did but still. He nodded. "If not, I would use the charm to change it during the summer,"

He laughed at her comment. "Now imagine that. I'll be sure to send you a muffin basket," Because that's what people sent their friends right? Plus, Adelaide did like to bake so he was sure she'd appreciate the muffins. Jun listened to Addi sing; grin on his face. "I thought you said I was better than most people you've heard?" Because Jun thought Addi was actually pretty good. And that's never his usually first impression on people singing. "Your reward," he said, taking a candy from his bag and holding it out for her.

"Just climb the stairs to the towers up and down, every day, and you'll be all set," Even Lottie said he was fit and Jun told her it was because of the stairs he had to climb. "I signed up to tryout, but I'm completely nervous about it,"

Addi scrunched her nose remembering all the times she walked into the bathroom after her mother died her hair. It really was awful. "That no smell thing is a big bonus. Our bathroom reeks of it for days after my mum dyes her hair." And nothing could really cover it up either. "How long until you turn 17?" Legitimate question.

She giggled. "I'll hold you to that." Because muffins were delicious. Of course those muffins probably weren't as good as ones she could bake herself, but it was food and food was good. Adelaide's face turned a deep red. Partially from embarrassment of singing but mostly from Jun's compliment. "Because that was the truth and I'm not good." No she was not. Whatever he said wasn't going to change her mind. She smiled and took the candy from his hand. "Thanks."

Addi popped the candy in her mouth and nodded, thinking over his idea. "That would actually help a bit." Would get her back in shape to run laps if necessary because that happened sometimes. She grinned at his statement. "Really? If it makes you feel any better I'd never touched a broom before last term and was one of the top beaters for the season." She was quite proud of that accomplishment.

Jun nodded. "My mum makes me dye my hair outside now. I'm not allowed back into the house until it's finished," And it was true. When he'd tell her he wanted to dye his hair, his mum would make him change into a swimsuit beforehand and wait outside. When it was done, she'd hose his down then let him back inside. Backyard water was wayyyyyy to cold. Even in the hot and humid city they lived in. "A year and a couple of months," Which had to go faster because he wanted to be seventeen already. But then growing up fast sucked so no. He'd stay fifteen a while longer.

He grinned. He'll just make Kai bake the muffins and such. Jun was better at cooking instead of baking. They needed no more house fires on his behalf. "Well, if you say so. But I totally think you are," And that was that. Whether Addi took the compliment or not. Jun still believed she was good at it.

"Plus the moving staircase make it a challenge," Especially when he was running up the stairs to make it to his next class on time. He almost slipped once and that would've been the end of the tie-dye boy. Jun shivered at the memory. "Hmm, that actually helps. Thanks. I never tried out before so I dunno what to really expect," Maybe just a bunch of 'claws flying here and there, trying to get the quaffle.

Adelaide full out laughed. She had no idea why she found that so funny, but it was to her. "Seriously? I mean, that is one way to keep the smell out of the house, but that can't be enjoyable." Because what if the weather turned without notice and he was stuck outside with hair dye in his hair. "That's not too bad. Could be worse."

She smiled. Jun was really fun to hang out with and it was nice to have a friend that wasn't a Slytherin. Made things more interesting. Right. More blushing. "Thanks again." She wasn't going to say anymore though. Didn't need to get in an argument over it.

Oh god. The moving staircases. "I will never get used to those things. I've almost been late to classes so many times because they decided to change on me." That was not fun. Addi smiled. "I'm glad. If you ever want a flying buddy just tell me. Racing others really helps with your speed and such."

Jun grinned. "I'm completely serious. She makes me change into a swimsuit and everything," Because she was not putting up with two boys who dye their hair. Even if Kai does it WAY less than Jun. Still, dying hair was now done in the backyard. Or else the front yard. No thanks on that one. "Yeah. It could be two years and I'll just lay here for the rest of my life," Two years was too long to turn seventeen. So Jun felt bad for Lottie because she was only fourteen.

"I don't think anyone will. They have no timing so you can't really ran up or else," Jun made a gesture and a splat sound. Don't think anyone would ever want that. Maybe if they were on the first floor. Because then it would just be a broken arm or leg. Hopefully not head. "Yes! This is will doooooo!" Jun laughed, nodding at the same time. Having a flying partner was always a good thing.

Okay. That was a little funny. Addi did her best to bite back a giggle. Because that would be mean, right? Even if it was kind of funny. "Guess she doesn't want you ruining your clothes either." Because dye, well, dyed everything. She smiled. "Exactly."

Adelaide nodded. "I was rushing once and barely had time to grab onto the banister when it decided to move." How on earth those things were deemed safe for students, she had no idea. Especially with the younger ones. She silently wondered how many accidents had occurred on them. She beamed. "Great!" It would be nice to have another flying partner. Especially one who would be on a different team. That way she could judge and stuff.

"Or anything in the house," he grinned. Which was also true. And she had just started this summer too because family came over. Still, they were the ones who started calling him tie-dye. They would be used to it by now.

Jun's lips became a thin line. Students needed strong strings attached to themselves in order not to fall down the moving steps. Or maybe the staff can delay when they would move. It would help out a lot. "That is really scary. Especially if you're up on the higher floors," Yeah, no. No one would want to think about that scenario. "Good, just send an owl or paper airplane to the tower," he joked. Though Addi could just meet him on the grounds. But the idea of a paper airplane reaching the tower was a bit funny in his head.

Adelaide giggled. "Yeah...not ruining things is usually a good tactic." Her mom pretty much blocked out the whole bathroom when she dyed her hair.

Addi nodded in agreeance. "Oh yeah. I've pretty much learned my lesson though and just take it slow. If I'm late, I'll just say the stairs tried to kill me." That was a good enough excuse right? She laughed and gave a little salute. "Will do. It'll be fun trying to throw an airplane up there."

"Yeah. It's either that or grounded for the rest of the summer," Which almost happened once when Kai and Jun broke something in the house. Whoa, did their dad have a fit after that. And he literally almost grounded them for that entire summer. Oops.

Jun laughed. Using the stairs was a good excuse to come to class late. But only a handful of teachers would actually believe them. "You should use that excuse next time. Like to divination or astronomy," Because those were the furthest classes from the dungeons. "And a challenge too,"

"That would not be fun." Addi used to spend a lot of her summers locked in the house or at political functions. Those days were awful. She didn't know what she'd do without Diagon Alley now.

Adelaide smiled and nodded. "I'll remember that. Even though I'm pretty sure all I'd have to do to get Flamsteed to forgive me is make him some brownies." Sad, but true. Not that she would ever do anything like that. She nodded. "Most definitely."

"Nope. But thankfully he only grounded us for like two weeks before he started feeling bad," And the guilt trip Kai and Jun did worked wonders on their parents. It how they managed to dye their hair whenever they wanted, go to Korea on holidays, sneak out, go on dates, basically anything they wanted. Except get out of family gatherings. Those were the worst.

"Well, yeah! Flamsteed seems like the type. Plus, I'm sure if you tell him something like 'I was looking up at the sky, looking for a certain star and lost track of time', he'd believe you," Which was another excuse Jun had to use one day. But only on Flamsteed. Any other professor wouldn't believe him.

Adelaide laughed. "That's good. At least you got to enjoy your summer." She knew all about not really doing much over the summers and such.

She nodded. "Flamsteed's probably my favorite teacher, but yeah. I feel like it would be easy to give him an excuse to get out of being late." At least a lot easier than most of the professors.

Shivering slightly in the drafty halls Leo walked quickly up the stairs from the Ground Floor after eating a warm lunch meal in the Great Hall. Robes billowing slightly as he stepped into the portraits corridor.

Leo kept walking until he stopped in front of one of the larger portraits to really look at it. He wondered if it was new. He had never taken notice of it before. Probably beause of the fact that he usually hurried past this corridor to get back to the library.

Footsteps echoed up the halls as Sophia made her way towards the portraits, though they were not quick, brisk and purposeful sounded like they normally were when the Transfiguration mistress walked anywhere. No, the steps were slow, slow because her old bones couldn't go that fast.

Old bones...

Her once vibrant dark shiny locks were now silver curls, shiny and luscious but still..silver. And her beautiful olive skinned face was now lined with wrinkles, wrinkles she had fought desperately against but what seemed to multiple with every waking minute. Nothing she tried worked.

Her face lit up some what when she spotted Leo. "Leobald.." She said hoarsely.

Turning around at the sound of his best friend's voice albeit a very hoarse one Leo immediatley strode over to give Sophia a hug as usual. "Sophia," he murmured as he pulled back slightly too look at her. What on earth had happened to his friend with the vibrant curls and pretty olive skin? Had someone played a prank on her?

"Are you all right?" Leo asked as he with worry tried to catch his BFF's eye. "Has some student played a nasty prank on you? I can hunt them down and send them to detention." He promised.
