Directly below the Great Hall is the Hogwarts kitchen, complete with five tables identical to and directly below those of the Great Hall. Numerous house elves have returned and are busily working, always working, on the castle's next meal. They're surely willing to serve you a snack though, if you ask politely enough.
OOC: Please do not RP for the House Elves! We have a lovely group of actual elves who would love to RP with you if you will please be patient.

It was both thrilling and a little scary at the same time!
Biting her lip, she looked around the room. He was certainly right about the House Elves not being around. "Maybe of we call out for them, they will come!" she suggested happily. Lux did not know if she wanted to be bad and eat the food on the table or not. What would Willa do?, she wondered.
Sander wanted to laugh. He was beginning to learn to that every time he mentioned he was a transfer, people would automatically ask how it was like where he came from. So he was used to providing the same answer.
"Durmstrang? Well it's almost like Hogwarts....only not as relaxed. We tend to be more regimented there. But still it was a nice place to attend. I got to learn a lot while I was there." Sander told the younger girl.
"So how did it feel to be homeschooled?" Sander asked the girl. Yes he too was interested to know about the other schools.
....and as he talked his eyes kept wandering to the food on the counter. His tummy was becoming to rumble even louder.
"Yes maybe we should let the House Elves know we're here. They could be busy doing other things." Sander suggested to Lux.
So Sander called out," Hello there? We're sorry to bother you but we're hungry and we're wondering whether we can eat the food that's on the counter?"
Okay now all they needed to do was to wait patiently for them to show up.

Thanks.
And yeah, cars. But it wasn't exactly like brooms on wheels. It was way more complicated then that and a million times more beautiful. Cars were mini-masterpieces. Ahem.
"I did get paid," he said taking out his wand to cool the cake. Anything to help push along the process of baking. In his pretty, frilly apron.

Merlin. Muggles. How did they work this stuff?
She briefly considered banging the device against the counter to make it work, but Cactus would probably be angry if she broke it, so Alice went back to snapping pictures instead. How much longer was cake baking supposed to take?

Silver giggled, taking a bite from her sandwich. "oh yes, I've met him too!" She nodded "He's pretty awesome too. Silver added.
"Oooh Kansas, I've never been there before. Is it beautiful?" She nicely asked. Feeling bashful towards that comment, Silver giggled. "Awww thank you! You're very sweet." She replied with a huge grin on her face.
"Oh you did?" he asked her. "Well i am glad then you guys can talk about New York and such." It was always good to have something in common with people. He didn't any people from Kansas here yet but that was fine by him.
Then he smiled when she asked him about Kansas. "Well it is quite beautiful. There is a lot of open land. I sometimes run through the fields with my dog. Plus i help my grandma on the farm and get some muscle and a tan in the process during the summer." he winked at her. "But it is much different here at Hogwarts don't ya think?"
"I have been told that a lot." he grinned at Silver. "Even some people say they could eat me up because i am soo sweet." he joked with her.
Adelaide made her way down to the kitchens. Her need to bake had gotten worse over the summer. It didn't help that now she had about 3 different little journals filled with her own recipes. It felt good to make her own things, but it was making her post school decisions harder.
Like, did she go open her own bakery or cooking school or did she still go be a teacher like she wanted. Sigh. If only she had a few more years to make up her mind. Life would be much easier. Addi noticed the two younger students in the kitchens making sandwiches. She gave them a smile as one of the house elves greeted her.
Yep. She definitely came down her too often. Adelaide went to her usual oven and began to pull out the things she was going to need to make her brownies that everyone seemed to adore so much.

Oooh, that sounded interesting. Lux had no idea what regimented meant, but she did not want to appear stupid, so she merely nodded along to what he was saying. Maybe it meant that things were stricter over there? "Did they teach things like they do at Hogwarts? Or did you have some different subjects?" She had no idea what the schooling was like where Durmstrang was.
"Oh, it was okay, I suppose. Kinda boring because I didn't go to school with friends... but I still got to see people when I wasn't learning." So it was okay, because she still saw her friends outside of class. "I really wanted to go to school and learn with other kids, so I begged to come here." And her friends had agreed!
As he called out for the Elves, she watched and waited for them to come. Hopefully it would be soon so that she could eat something. She was getting mighty hungry now, and the food in the kitchen looked and smelled amazing. "I really want to take something, but I'm scared to get in trouble with the House Elves!" If she was on their bad side, she would not get her sandwiches that she wanted.
Adelaide made her way down to the kitchens. Her need to bake had gotten worse over the summer. It didn't help that now she had about 3 different little journals filled with her own recipes. It felt good to make her own things, but it was making her post school decisions harder.

Kace was busy in the sandwich making mode. He was putting the peanut butter on just right and the jelly. He was mastering the art of spreading and was even dancing having a fun time. Then he heard the door open and noticed a much older girl come into the kitchen. He nodded and smiled toward her.
He saw she had like brownie mix and a pan. He was curious to see what she was gonna do. He smiled and decided to break the awkwardness between them. "Hey i am Kace! You making brownies i see?" he said jerking his toward to the brownie pan.

Adelaide looked up from her things as the boy came over to talk to her. "Hey Kace. I'm Adelaide. And yeah. They always seem to disappear right after I make them." Because everyone who ate them seemed to love them.
Addi had gained quite a few new friends through her brownies. Including a professor or two.

"Hey Adelaide!" he said greeting her back. "Ohhhhh so you must be the popular baker in town huh? Maybe...i could try some of your brownies to see if they are good and all?" he offered.
Oh introductions. "Oh this is Silver by the way." he said pointing to his new friend. "We were here making some sandwiches.." he grinned.

And sure. I probably shouldn't try and eat all of them myself." Even if once they made it back to the common room West would probably devour them.
She smiled and waved at the other girl. "Hi Silver. I'm Adelaide." Right. The sandwiches. "I might have to make me one of those to eat while these are baking."

American boys were so much work, she'd realized. Too much work.
"Although." She grinned, "I certainly don't mind being told that I'm pretty and dateable." It was just too bad for them that she already had a boy to date and she wasn't planning on getting rid of him any time soon. "Why would they hide the kitchen?" Cat paused in the middle of the room and put her hands on her hips. "What d'you want?" She was having decision making problems today.
Mitchell laughed as they walked. European girls. He liked them. He'd officially made a decision. Or maybe he just liked hanging around Gumball.
Eh. It was actually probably just a gumball induced reaction, actually.
"It's true though. But where's the point in telling a girl she's pretty in the way she's used to. It doesn't make the guy stand out at all." Mitchell would never drop that line, but he'd never just tell a girl she was pretty and think that was good enough. At least, not one he was interested in.
"Um. Surprise me." he said looking around. He wasn't quite sure what the kitchen had to offer. It looked pretty stocked though.

"I'm going to make you a sandwich." Cat decided. Even though Mo was the Master Sandwich Maker, she was going to go with that. It was simply not cold enough for soup and pizza was just out, so sandwiches it was. She went looking for the things she needed before continuing the conversation.
"But if the girl is already interested in the guy, he stands out to her. So he doesn't have to say silly things like that." Cat shrugged. "Or maybe that's me, maybe I'm not easily flattered." Though, Mo was good at saying lovely things and she certainly did like that.
After she gathered everything, Cat paused to pull back her hair, looking at Mitchie as she did, "So, what sort of sandwich do you want?"
"Oh you did?" he asked her. "Well i am glad then you guys can talk about New York and such." It was always good to have something in common with people. He didn't any people from Kansas here yet but that was fine by him.

"I like talking about other topics, not just New York." She nodded, flashing him a smile.
Woooooow Kansas sounded so amazing! Silver was in complete awe, smiling from ear to ear.
She giggled at the whole getting muscle and a tan. So does that mean he worked out? Because she needs a work out buddy. "I like tans and muscles." Silver giggled. It was true though.
He was totally right, things here were totally different. "Totally agree with you." She nodded.
Silver giggled at his joke, that was totally spot on. "Well I could just snatch you up and take you with me where ever I go, Sweetness." Silver laughed at her own joke.

"I personally don't get it. I mean, it makes things a bit more interesting when everyone guesses where it is but it isn't that hard really. I mean look at the uniforms, it's obvious that it's freezing where it is so you can easily guess where abouts it is," she said with a shrug.
"Hi Ziggy," Ana said gently, waving at the pygmy puff in greeting, smiling happily when Bay said that it seemed like Ziggy liked her already. "Perhaps. I mean, that's the place where you'll have to be around large crowds the most I guess. At least during the school year probably."
"Good. I spend most of my holiday's back in Russia, my Mamochka likes to go back and see family and friends when I'm home, so sometimes I slip into it again after speaking it constantly for so many weeks. Ana picked up her glass of milk and took a sip, and nearly chocked on it when the next words came out of Bay's mouth. After a few painful breaths, and Bay's most likely unintentionally helpful pat on the back, in which she got herself under control, and realised she wasn't actually going to die, she was too young for that, she responded to Bay's statement. "I think I'm glad to have met you too. You seem funny, and nice."
Ohh play time! Yes. Finishing off her milk, more carefully this time, she wiped some left over crumbs off her hands, before holding them out excitedly for the pygmy puff. "How exactly does one play with a pygmy puff though?" she asked quite seriously. Ana had never been allowed to have pets so she wasn't too sure what to do with them.
Bay snorted at Ana's comment about durmstrang " yeah i know what you mean." it wasnt hard to guess where itcould be. As soon as he spoke Ziggy started squeaking in response to Ana talking to him.. " i might as well give it a try right.. What could possibly go wrong?" laughing he pet the top of Ziggys head.
Bay was glad that she wasnt freaked out and said he was funny and nice. " your pretty awesome yourself" he added
He carefully handed over Ziggy. " im not quite sure.. I know petting him and holding him makes him pretty happy.. He likes to bounce around too." he told her as Ziggy was getting excited and more squeaks escaped his little mouth.
"You pick," Alice told him, squinting at the camera. How was she supposed to see the pictures she'd already taken again? Could you even do that? What if it ran out of film juice.... something.. before she was done? There were so many more photos of Ascanius in an apron she had to capture.
Merlin. Muggles. How did they work this stuff?
She briefly considered banging the device against the counter to make it work, but Cactus would probably be angry if she broke it, so Alice went back to snapping pictures instead. How much longer was cake baking supposed to take?
"Vanilla it is, then," he mumbled as he went to work adding the icing to the now cooled cake. In his personal and professional opinion as the man with the apron on, he found cakes tasted best when the icing was thick and not used sparingly. 'Cause no one liked the cake ratio to be more cake then icing. S'just a waste of a cake.
So he went to work glossing on the icing and then smoothing it out to make it look presentable. After several minutes of icing application and a few poses in his apron for Alice, 'cause he worked that thing, the cake was done.
"Alright," he said wiping his hands off on the apron, "All done, beautiful." She could now presumably eat it all. He, after all, had a Gryffindor girlfriend. He knew about the void in their stomaches were food just disappeared.
Climbing back onto the counter, he admired his cake. Well done, Stark.
Addi smiled at the young boy. She recognized him from some of the classes and such. She was just horrible at remembering names if she hadn't interacted with people. "I guess you could say that. She smiled and waved at the other girl. "Hi Silver. I'm Adelaide." Right. The sandwiches. "I might have to make me one of those to eat while these are baking."
Kace beamed when he said he could help. He actually loved baking as well. Especially with his grandma around the holidays. "You know what we should also making chocolate chip cookies. I am really craving those right now. I wonder if they have any mix here?" he questioned.

"Oh of course you like talking other topics...i forgot a sweet girl like you could be soo talkative." he smiled to her. Then his PB and J sandwich was done and he was eating it a little too fast. He forgot how hungry he was. Once he swallowed his first huge bite, he grinned when she mentioned she like tan and muscles. He couldn't reply because he took another bit of his sandwich. It was just TOO good.
OH? She just called him sweetness. Huh? A new nickname now. "Oooohh man did you just come up with a nickname for me?" he questioned her teasingly.
Adelaide smiled at Silver. "You can have some brownies too when they're done if you want." Because sharing was nice and how Addi seemed to be making a lot of friends lately. Not that she was going to complain too much about that.
She turned her attention back to Kace. "We can make those too...but I never use mix. Nothing tastes better than cookies from scratch." Because that was the only way she ever baked. Plus she had about five variations of chocolate chip cookies in her recipe books alone.
...and cue the awkward because it seemed the two younger students were getting flirty. And that was not something Adelaide usually liked to insert herself into. So she looked back down at her brownies...ignoring the comments.

That was quite a good attitude for him to have. Ana was slightly tempted to point out that there were a number of things that could go wrong, she'd always been slightly pessimistic, but she thought it might put a damper on both of their good moods so instead just shot Bay a smile and kept her words to herself.
"Thank-you," Ana chirped, brightly. She always liked getting compliments, and being told one was awesome, was definitely a good feeling. Even if they technically hadn't known each other long enough for Bay to know that for sure.
Taking Ziggy from Bay's hands Ana held him hesitantly. She wasn't scared of the Pygmy Puff so much as unsure what type of grip would be appropriate. Still, she wouldn't let that put her off, and after taking a bracing breath, she allowed herself to transfer Ziggy into her left hand, making sure her grip was secure before removing her right hand. She carefully used her right hand to pet Ziggy, startling slightly when he squeaked excitedly, before returning her hand and smiling down at the cute ball of fluff. She may not know how to play with him but she could certainly appreciate that the Pygmy Puff was absolutely adorable.
Adelaide smiled at Silver. "You can have some brownies too when they're done if you want." Because sharing was nice and how Addi seemed to be making a lot of friends lately. Not that she was going to complain too much about that.

"Kace this is gonna be so hard to believe but, I'm actually a pretty good listener." She genuinely smiled at him. Aside from being talkative and very outgoing, Silver actually returns the time people give her.
Wait?! Did Silver really just call Kace sweetness? Yes. Yes she did and she doesn't regret it.
"Yes I certainly did." Silver giggled and nodded, finishing her PB&J sandwich. "You're gonna give me a sweet tooth." She teased.

"I like threats too but they hardly do anything. I'd still steal your sandwich because you'd never take my fingers off but out of principle I'll satisfy with the one I stole right here. Fantastic combo by the way, I should go looking for you more often." Like when Lottie refused.
She was about to take another bite when he asked a rather silly question. "Of course! Do you think I go around stealing just anyone's food? I obviously have enough confidence in you to know it won't send me straight to the Hospital Ward or bolting for the nearest sink." Neither was happening now, see? Clearly she made a right choice in taking this sandwich.
There was a moment's pause then..."D'you reckon I can pull off Prefect?" She asked, thoughtfully leaning against the counter and taking another bite.

Oooh. She was going to make him a sandwich? Mitchell liked this idea. As a guy, he was a fan of sandwiches. And girls making them for him. Really, there was nothing to dislike about this situation.
"Ah. Well. It's mostly used as a sort of gateway introduction compliment." he said with a nod. "Not one you use on someone already interested in you. At that point you can say normal things."
"Oh. I'm good with anything." he said with a smile. "Not picky. Feel free to surprise me."

Lex blinked at Mo and what was probably meant to be a stern(?) warning? She didn't know but she wouldn't take it seriously either, not after he stuck his tongue out like that. She was obviously enjoying his sandwich, and while that was gratifying, Mo wondered if her sandwich was better than hers. He eyed her suspiciously as he finished his off, and then Mo was off himself, looking for cookies in all the cupboards.
Lex could help. "You act like making a sandwich is somehow NEWT level work, and it's literally easy enough that your baby sister could do it. No one will kill you by making you a sandwich. I promise." He found a tin someone had squirreled away, although there was only ONE cookie in it. Mo ate it and kept looking.
Oh, a serious question. He paused to swallow the cookie, leaning against the counter as he regarded Lex seriously. Would she? "I reckon you'll do fine. You want to do well, and sometimes wanting is as good as doing. It's about intent."

Of all the places she liked to hang out around, Cassia felt the need to visit someplace that had its specialty. KITCHENS! Because who didn't like it? There were cookies and yummy food. NOt that the snake didn't usually eat cookies and sweets made by her two dormmates. Still visiting the kitchens was something else.
Pondering whether to pin the badge to her shirt when she got out, the blond took her time leaving the common room. Eventually she did bring the badge along, she might encounter naughty kids or be needed. Or whatever. She was kind of new to this and it'd take time. Not lots of time though.
Her eyes swept the surroundings as soon as she stepped into the kitchen. Slowly she found her way through the fine-numbered crowd to her counter. Yeah, it was hers.
She hopped on it and reached for one of the cookies' jars.
