The Snakes sit under a beautiful silver and green banner representing their house. Their solid, shiny wooden table is nicely polished with all the place settings perfectly set. The food will arrive after the Headmistress' traditional end-of-term speech. To all Slytherins, both new and really, REALLY old: enjoy the feast! You've earned it!
Cutty Mordaunt was already there at the Closing Feast, but just in case anyone missed him, he walked in again and scoped out a prime seat for people watching at his house table. This was perfect. Perfect, except what was he going to tell people who might have noticed that he was also at the staff table? Maybe he'd deny it, flat out. Make them think they were going mad.
'Could be fun.', he thought as he brought a water goblet to his mouth and took a drink.

End of term feast. That had come around fast. Though Grace was kind of excited to go home. She'd get to see her Kneazle again! Though she wished she could actually be her age ago. She was nearly 12, but she felt like she was decades older than that. The first year sighed to herself as she wandered down the table, trying to find a seat. There weren't actually that many people here yet.
Ooh. A person. "Hi..." She didn't think she'd actually talked to this person. "Can I sit here?"

Well, it was about time.
Theo was one of the first to arrive at the Slytherin table because he sure had been ready for it for a long time. He didn't care about leaving for summer, he didn't care for the seventh years graduating... okay, except maybe Ella... he just wanted a break from the stress school was giving him lately. Not to mention his excitement for finishing mainly made him remember that HE was one step closer to graduating. Theo REALLY couldn't wait for that. He sat on a seat, in his usual spot, and tapped his fingers lazily on the wooden table top.
Speech? Food? Was it still too soon?

Adelaide made her way to the feast, shocked at how quickly this term had just flown by. She was actually ready for it to be over with. She needed a break from school things, especially with NEWTs coming up. Even though those really weren't that important to what she was going to do with her future anymore. But still. Exams were exams and she wanted to excel.
Addi was quite shocked to be one of the first few there. She spotted Theo and made her way over to him. Might as well not sit by herself. She smiled as she took the seat across from him. "Hey Theo. Ready for this term to be over?" The only really good thing about it was at least she didn't get that old thing that was going around.
Making her way to the table, Zoe plopped down on one of the benches. She'd seen the craziness from the term and had thankfully been on the sidelines with this one. Next year was her OWL's and she really wasn't looking forward to those. She just watched everyone as they appeared and took their seats around the hall not really paying too much attention.

He had tried to use charms to fix the problem, but his new limbs were awkward and uncoordinated and thus had resulted in him shrinking Hershel instead.
So now there was a mouse size ferret scurrying around his office. Brilliant.
Waddling like a duck, he reluctantly made his way up to the staff dais, avoiding eye contact with the Potions Master and immediately went towards his seat and sat while his suit jacket slipped off his left shoulder.
Oh sweet solstice his feet didn't even touch the ground.
WHAT?! NO!
Sophie had been watching the staff table from the Slytherin table and had witnessed Cutty Mordaunt himself sitting up there. No freaking way. He was NOT going to do something epic and fun and not allow her to be a part of it. She'd get him down from that table, she would! He was not allowed to be better than her at something.
From the edge of the Slytherin table yet somewhat close to the staff table, Sophie hissed at him. "Cutty!" she half-whispered. "Cutty Mordaunt, you get yourself down from there right now!" Don't make me have to come up there...

Caleb was in a terrible mood. He always was lately, but today he was REALLY bummed because here he was, at the end of the term feast, and he wasn't young again. He was STILL old and now he had to go home, and he wouldn't be able to play with Baldwin or practice flying in the backyard or do anything fun and he'd probably DIE and his parents would be grief stricken and his parents would have to quit their jobs to take care of them and it was just TERRIBLE.
He noticed that Cutty was - at the staff table? WHAT? Confused, Caleb blinked a few times but then sat down anyways as his sister decided to run up and investigate.
It was ok, she could do that. He would just sit here, feeling like death as usual.

Wow, they were really going home. Cassia wasn't sure how to feel about it. She was looking forwards to leaving and getting home since she had plans for summer but she also didn't feel like leaving the castle knowing that next year would be her last. Nope, she totally wasn't going to think about that. Not now, it was way too early for that.
After putting on her robes and gathering her hair in the usual messy bun, the sixth-year made her way to the great hall. The numbers in the common room started to decrease signaling that the other snakes had already started gathering at the Slytherin table.
Or maybe they were still inside the dorms dressing or packing, that what she thought seeing that not many had arrived at the table. But at least they were already people there.
Automatically, the blond walked over and slid next to Theo while waving at Cutty as she passed, Grace got a smile, too. "Hey, there, Buttress." was that ever going to get old? Probably not. Oh, and Adelaide was sitting there across them, too. "Hey, Addi," She smiled at the fellow sixth-year. Seemed like they were the only two girls in their dorm who got ready. Cat and Derry must have been busy.. with cats maybe.
"You guys have interesting plans for summer?" A very typical question still an important one nevertheless. The answer to it was an important one.
And speaking of interesting.
Interesting words caught the snake's attention. She immediately recognized the voice to be Sophie's but it was what she was saying that made her curious. Cassia's eyes immediately snapped to the staff's table and she just stared. Now that was definitely Cutty. Did she not just see wave at him? She was too busy staring to check again. Weird.

Feasts were always such a social effort thing. Theo rarely could be bothered with it, but he always made some sort of contribution during the last one of term. Thankfully most of Slytherin company was tolerable, and that was completely the case when Adelaide came and sat near him. Theo stopped tapping his fingers and smiled up at her. "Alright?" He said, "Oh, God yes. I've been waiting for the term to be over for months." And that answer came rather eagerly.
Course... he didn't wanna sound pessimistic or anything...
"What about you? Doing anything nice this summer?"

This was his last feast ever. Coming back to Hogwarts for his last term of school was the best idea. This term has been the best. Minus the whole turning old thing. Which made him realize that he didn't mind being eighteen years old. Now if he would ever look like a eighteen year he didn't know. Sad face sad face sad face. He was eighteen dang it not eighty.
He couldn't believe that this was it. As he moved over to his own house table he would go visit the others later to say his goodbyes. But now he wanted his team. They had done so brilliantly this term. True they didn't win the cup, but never the less he was proud of them each of them. He wanted his housemates. They were great, fierce, but the couldn't keep up with Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. At least they wasn't in last place. Ravenclaws. Chuckle.
He found a central spot at the table. Being one of the first ones here so he had prime seating. He didn't want to miss second of this. The food, the speech, the spending time with friends, housemates, and staff. He would miss them all. He found a central spot at the table it was one of the first ones here so he had prime seating. He didn't want to miss second of this.
No crying. There is no crying at the end of term feast. No Crying Romalotti. It wasn't the end.... Just the end of term feast. He would be back next.... Term. No... no he wouldn't. It wasn't good bye. Adeline was going to there right beside him hopefully for the rest if there lives and Alec... They were going to be teammates now. No more Slytherin vs Hufflepuff stuff they were going to be tornadoes now. Bros and teammates how awesome?
He just had to remind his of two things. One - This wasn't goodbye it was a see you later. And two it was the end, it was just this beginning. His book of Hogwarts the final chapter was being written. His new book of adulthood and the tornadoes would be starting soon.

Deciding that she would spend some time with her Snake friends, Lux skipped over to their table with a smile on her face. Hopefully everyone was happy today, and she was glad to see that both Asher and Addi were seated there. Poor Asher seemed sad, but Lux knew that he would be okay because he had Adeline and Quidditch. She could still see them both, it was not goodbye forever!
It was with a mixture of emotions that Beverly Wayne made her way toward the Great Hall. Anger, fear, anxiety and excitement all swelled inside that senile brain of hers. Being old SUCKS. Worst of all, summer was right around the corner and she was wrinkly and brittle. How was that even fair?
Was Fate working against her? It must be.
Entering the Great Hall she paused, mostly to rest, and to allow her eyes to briefly wander to the Gryffindor table. Her sight was getting worse that not even her glasses helped as much. The figures under the red and gold banners all moved in blurs. It was useless.
With a sigh she hobbled over to the Slytherin table, sitting down next to a familiar figure.

"Mordaunt," she greeted in a bit of haughty tone, just the way she's always seen her dad talk to others. It was sort of a game with Cutty Mordaunt. Last name basis and all.
Glancing at the staff table she did a double take, something in which her neck protested immediately. Odd. Airey's frame matched Cutty's. And his hair. And if she squinted her eyes at Cutty then it was a total match.
"Huh," she huffed, pushing her glasses up her nose, "how curious is that."

Terry wandered into the Great Hall for the end-of-term feast. He wasn't sure how to feel, he felt sad about his friends leaving especially Alec but he was also quite excited to see his family. Well, his mother at least, Tilly was always a nag when it came to the holidays.
He automatically headed towards the Slytherin table, it being his house and all. His eyes scanned the students, them finding Theo's straight away. He sat next to his mate, giving Cassia and Adelaide a friendly nod before turning to his dorm-mate. "Hey" he spoke. "What happens when a frogs car breaks down?" he asked, not really waiting for a response.
Derry was... eh. She wasn't prepared for this. The feast. She just wanted to skip it and go home. She didn't feel exactly... sociable lately... but she was determined to talk to West before they left and she wasn't sure she'd be able to catch him in the common room, but surely he'd be at the feast, right..? Unless he'd had the same idea as her and skipped it.
She slipped into the great hall quietly and sat down next to Addi, keeping her eyes fixed on her hands so she didn't make eye contact with anyone and have to have an actual conversation. Part of her was screaming about how ridiculous she was being, but she just felt tired, and achy, and generally down in the dumps. "Hey." she said, nudging her friend gently and looking up from her hands. "I wanna talk to you later. In the dorms maybe, yeah?" It was nothing serious, just summer plans. But summer plans that weren't to get around yet, cause only the coolest of people were going to be involved. Yep.
End of term feast. That had come around fast. Though Grace was kind of excited to go home. She'd get to see her Kneazle again! Though she wished she could actually be her age ago. Cutty waved his arm at the little old lady girl in a grand gesture towards the empty seat next to him. "Help yourself!", he managed to say welcomingly. He was not normally this nice.

How VERY curious, indeed.

The table was filling up quick there was several people from the team there. He waved and nodded to them. And then there was Lux when did the little Hufflepuff get over here?
He grinned and her and offered her a hug. Yes, a hug. "Hey Lux, how are you!"

She liked hearing her Spy!name. It made her remember all the old good days. Not that those days were bad but no one could deny that life was more fun and enjoyable back then. Now there's responsibility, studying and all that. So the name cheered her up.
Whatever she might have guessed she knew she'd never have guessed what he said. She might have been surprised a bit which resulted in her blinking at him all confused the recovering. "Really? that sounds like fun." Really Germany! How cool was that. "You and Dora as in... ?" She dropped the tone of her voice because it felt like the right thing to do. Yeah, she might have been a bit curious, actually she was being her usual nosy self. She wanted to know all the things she didn't know about.
"Well, whatever I'm going to say now is going to sound lame," she joked. Because nothing beats traveling. "I don't have many plans but I am going to retake my apparition test. " Since she so awesomely failed it the first time. How lame. Then Terry joined and got a smile from Cassia. Funny joke, the one he told.
Oh, and Derry was here. But she was talking to Addi. Mmkay. Seemed important.

Genie looked bored at the Slytherin table... the term went by so fast, it was like she had no time to make friends... quite literally. Maybe next term... She looked in her glass of water thinking of her brothers, her father and her mother and wished she could just skip this and go home soon.

Smiling, Lux hugged Asher. She was happy that he didn't seem to be doing too badly considering that this was his last meal he would eat at Hogwarts. Wondering where Adeline was, she hoped that she would get to see her at the feast. Otherwise, they would have to meet up on the train. Lux was excited, because Adeline had told her that she could come visit during the summer.
"I'm doing good. How about you?" Hopefully he really was as fine as he looked, because it would make her feel bad if he started crying or something. Some people kept up a tough exterior even if they were really sad on the inside.

West approached the table in silence, sat in his usual seat with the usual people, and remained entirely quiet. Not that he wasn't paying attention: he looked up at the staff table, saw 'Cutty' gauged who was supposed to be in that particular seat, and then unerringly looked at actual Cutty right here at the Slytherin table and briefly raised one eyebrow.
He still didn't say anything though.
Just waited for the food.

Were they late to the feast? Probably. Did she care? Not one bit.
Stopping for a moment she leaned against Dora slightly to look around the great hall, quickly scanning all the relevant house tables. So every house table except the Ravenclaw one. No Schuyler yet. Not that she could see anyway. Bleeeehhh.
She HAD spotted West though and since now was as good a moment as any to start talking to him again, Olly made her way over to the Slytherin house table. Assuming Dora would follow. Though she DID glance over her shoulder a couple of times to make sure that she was. She didn't entirely trust the Ravenclaw not to simply turn around and walk back out again.
Once at the table, Olly offered a sort of forced half-smile to West before taking a seat on the bench next to him. In a way that left room for Dora to sit between them, however. Just being polite, that's all. Hey, she WAS a Hufflepuff after all. "...hey."
Browncoat l Extra Syrup l Kita's Strong Confident Other Half l Lemon Patch
Dora wasn't turning back. She'd been properly convinced and said she would come to the feast - which implied actually showing of face - so come she would. It helped that she was feeling much more relaxed about.... well everything, and so wasn't so against being here tonight. And she didn't do so much of a scan of the entire hall as she did just let her hazel-green eyes zero in on the gryffindor table, disappointed that it held no best friend. But also maybe a bit relieved. She still wasn't ready to face the inevitable.
Following Olly, she unceremoniously squished herself between the pair and gave West a relaxed smile. "Hi." She was here and stuff.
She then proceeded to fold her arms on the table and lean forward, resting her head on them while she stared down the gryffindor table.

"...hey."
Oh she was talking to him now?
....
What did she want?
West eyed Olly, still kinda hurt at how she'd just blanked him after the match. Just one more sucky thing about that day and the days that had come after it and all.
He just raised an eyebrow at her.

Oh and a Dora too? He looked at her when she squished in and gave her a brief smile that didn't touch his eyes. "Hey Siddie. Hiding?"
He got that. This wasn't gonna be an easy feast for them.

.........right.
Olly stared at West for a long moment, resisting the urge to get up and leave. Maybe coming to sit at this particular table hadn't been such a good idea after all. Though she couldn't exactly pick another table now.
Especially not since Dora had just taken a seat too. So they were staying.
Her eyes stayed on West while him and Dora shared a few words. Was she supposed to SAY something? Only what?
Why had she convinced Dora to come to the feast with her again?!
