High up in the top-most reaches of the Castle is a tower dedicated to Ravenclaw House. You come across the entrance in the form of a door with no handle or lock but a single knocker shaped like the head of an eagle. If, and only if, you answer the riddle that the eagle presents you, you may gain entrance to the Ravenclaw Common Room. Hey, there's a reason that Ravenclaw is the house for those with brains.
Upon entering the Common Room you see a number of things but mostly you see the floor to ceiling windows that span around almost the entire curved room. Beyond their panes you can see what looks like all of Hogwarts' campus and the majestic mountain range beyond. One sweeping look through them and you can see the Forbidden Forest, Quidditch Pitch, The Greenhouses, the Black Lake, and even the shimmering light from the windows in Hogsmeade. At nighttime, the glass reveals the starry night beyond.
Placed on the center of the curved wall is a large fireplace with plenty of navy blue sofas and armchairs placed around it. They are there for students to lounge as they work on homework, socialize or just relax and enjoy the view between lessons. A crowded night in the Common Room for a party or rowdy game of Gobstones? Take a seat on the newly installed deep blue carpet.
Along the wall you entered there is the Announcements Board where all things will be posted regarding school events, lessons, and homework as well as the Study Tables that are provided for a more structured setting for Ravenclaws to do what Ravenclaws do best. The Grey Lady, the House ghost of Ravenclaw tends to visit this spot especially every now and then. And last but not least, to the right of where the impressive statue of Rowena Ravenclaw herself stands, is the staircase leading to the dormitories. Once you ascend these stairs, going to the right will take you to the ones allotted for the girls and the left will lead you to the ones reserved for the boys.
Come in, relax, have fun and make yourselves at home.
Welcome to Ravenclaw!
Wellp, it was her turn to patrol this part of the castle. Not that the Headmistress by any means had to have a reason to visit the Ravenclaw Common Room, but well. She wanted to. So there.
The redhead waltzed in finally, thanks to that STUPID puzzle at the door and looked around. Good, good, Claws, Claws... doing Claw things... homework and things...
She walked around the circumference of the room, admiring how ROUND it was. So circular! And so many windows! "Lovely view..." the Headmistress murmured to herself. Were those her greenhouses out there? Gorgeous! She smiled to herself and continued walking, heading toward a cluster of chairs near the fireplace.
The redhead stopped just behind one big, plushy navy one, and tsk'd to herself. "This won't do." She gave it a small push, then looked around to see if anyone was watching, and gave it a bigger nudge. Nudge. Nudgenudge. This place needed serious redecorating. One would think Calista would have feng shui'd her own House better!
Nigel was doing what he usually does in the common room. That is when he had the couch to himself. He was eating fanged whizbees and levitating. Which of course meant he was starfishing in mid air. It was awesome in Nigel's opinion. Nobody would really tell him no since he was a Prefect. Well besides Blue, Dora, and Mo. Yeah that was it. So it was a win win scenario. What he did not expect was for the Headmistress to be making a totally random visit to the common room. Like really.
The first question Nigel had when he fell onto the couch was why. Did she need a book or something. Why else come to the Ravenclaw common room. There was no party or anything exciting happening right now.
"Umm...Headmistress. Did you need a book or something.......Fanged Whizbee?"
Nigel asked offering her one.Why not and was she going to move all the chairs in the room by hand? That would take all day.

Walking back into the common room, after a try out Jun knew would be his last, everything was usually the same. Except for a certain person with red hair was now gracing the room with her presence. Setting his things down but the sutdy desks, Jun decided to approach her. "Hello Headmistress. How are you today?" Good, good, start off easy. Even if she didn't make him nervous, it was always best to be polite. And why was she nudging chairs??? "If you don't mind me asking, why are you nudging the chairs?" He pointed to them.
Redecorating probably? Still, Jun was sure Elwood wouldn't really want that in her common room. But either way, the headmistress had more say over their head of house.

Need a book or something? Of course, a Ravenclaw would ask if she were looking for a book. "No no, dear, I'm just doing a bit of... rearranging." She let out a small laugh and gave the navy chair one final push. There. Now it was arranged at a rakish angle to the fireplace.
She looked over at the boy on the couch and realized he was one of the perfects! Lovely. Then he could help. "Fanged Whizbee?" she repeated. "Hmm... I haven't had one of those in a very, very long time...."
It was tempting. "What does that candy do again? Give you hiccups?"

"Oh hello, hello," she'd taken a step closer to the Nigel boy when another 'Claw came in. Look, this one had books too. STEREOTYPES!!!!!
"I'm doing well, thank you. I just... thought I'd see how all the Houses were settling in... and I realized," she took a step back from all the chairs there and propped one hand on her hip as she eyed them, "you know what this place needs? Some new feng shui. I bet that's why Ravenclaw hasn't been winning the House Cup or Gobstones or Quidditch or well ANYTHING, really. Your mojo is off!"
And look at her, spewing total Elwood nonsense. Mwahahaa. The redhead wore a bit of a devilish grin to herself and moseyed on closer to the prefect's couch.
Yes, that couch would need to go. It absolutely had to switch places with the ottoman on the other side of the room. Just look at it. Tsk tsktsktsk.

Adrienne's conversation with the girl was immediately put on the back burner because, um, the Headmistress was in their common room. What reason could she have for being here? Not that she couldn't go wherever she wanted, of course, she was the headmistress, but still. It felt a bit odd. And then she was nudging chairs and looking around critically. And... was she insulting them? Adrienne really couldn't tell. Because yes, she knew they hadn't been doing well, and it wasn't great to be reminded (especially since they were already in last place for the Cup and the year had barely started). But then the way she was putting it it kind of made it sound like it wasn't their fault... because their 'mojo' was off, whatever that was supposed to mean.
It was pretty irrelevant as to whether it was an insult or not, though, because Adrienne couldn't say anything rude if she'd wanted to. Instead, she figured she'd settle for a question. "Er, Headmistress? If you don't mind me asking, what does, euh, 'feng shui' mean?"

Jun snorted. Not out of rudeness, but more like he tried his best not to laugh. Would feng shui really help them win something? Nah. But he just nodded and let the headmistress believe it. Wait till Elwood hears about this. The headmistress would probably have them moving around the furniture before their head of house even had a chance to come in and stop them. Or her most likely. "So, new feng shui will help us win something this year?" And if it didn't, Jun could probably hold it to her.
Though, there wasn't much he could do there.
Maybe he'll get Elwood to do it. Y'know, adult to adult.

Well, was no one going to help her? Was she going to have to do this all by herself? Hmmph.
The redhead started on the ottoman, nudging it with her foot over to the couch. "Feng shui is an ancient Chinese philosophy, you could say, of how your existence is linked to your surrounding environment. It is believed that for the best life possible, you should arrange your furniture so that you create good qi." She waved a hand. "I'm not the best explainer of these things. Ask your Head of House." She would know about this kooky (kinda true) theory.

Did the boy just snort at her? Did he have something up his nose? Annie had heard nargles lived up here... the Headmistress gave him a close look and continued rearranging.
"Well there's no guarantees that it will help you win, but it could definitely improve your chances!" And it was better than doing nothing in this Eagle nest! "Would you care to help?"

"No, Levitate". Candy that made you hiccup did not sound like fun. More annoying than anything.
And what was feng shui? Sounded like some weird type of magic. And he was not the only one thinking that. A younger claw asked and got an answer. Ah something about China and moving furniture around. Not that interesting.
Ouch that did hurt a little about not winning anything in the past couple years. But it is not like anyone was beating Hufflepuff anytime soon.See Nigel was going to keep quiet about her moving all the furniture around. But the couch was already in the best possible place. It did not need to be moved. But it is not like he can tell her no. Merlin's pants. Sigh.
"Need any help?"
He was a Prefect after all.

Improve their chances.
Like possibly coming in third because it was way better than fourth nonetheless. In anything really. House cup. Quidditch cup. The gobstones thing he never really paid much mind to. But it couldn't hurt their chances. Right?? "If we come in third in at least something, then maybe we'll do more feng shui in here," Jun nodded. If Elwood would let them anyway. She was a divination professor after all. She should believe in these things.
"Uh, sure," How could Jun deny the headmistress some help? She would force him anyway. Walking over to the chairs, he took two and start dragging them. "Where do you think we should put these?" She seemed like the expert in this anyway.

"Are you saying 'no need to be fancy' because it takes too much time and you're just trying to prove a point," she turned her head to the side so he could see her playful grin, "or 'cause you don't know how to be fancy with it?"
Mo settled and absently began to separate Sophie's hair into section, working his way into the braid that would swing down between her shoulder blades in a single plait. "Birthday present? You didn't have to do that, Bully Baby." But he wouldn't turn it down. At all.
Sophie did get a scowl at the suggestion that he wasn't good at braiding. Was this the thanks he got for his hard work and generosity? "I mean no need to be fancy because I don't want the other girls to get any funny ideas." But he did loose her braid and start at her temple, this time working on a coronet.

“Take your pick! mini-pizza-cupcake-thingies my mum made or butterbeer cupcakes with butterbeer inside of them!” She happily beamed.
OH, food. Mo paused in his braiding and perused the options from Mika's container. Pizza cupcakes? What was this madness? He chose the butterbeer ones instead, shoving the entire thing in his mouth and grinning a sticky, crumby grin at her.
"S'good. Thags!"

Brynn was slightly in awe. A teenage boy, not only that but the Quidditch Captain, was entrusting her with his hair-braiding secret. If that wasn't proof that she was in with the in-crowd, she didn't know what was. But she shook her head to his next question. No, she didn't play.
"Coooool," Mo agreed, wiping crumbs from his chin before returning to Sophie's hair. "I had a feeling just from looking at you, Brynn, that you were the trustworthy sort. You stick with us, and we'll get you all settled."
Shame about the Quidditch, though. Mo was all for having fresh faces at tryouts so they could infuse the team with a renewed spirit. "Well, if you want to learn... just give me a nod. Sophie and I can teach you."

How did he know about it? "Probably supposed to? Says who, exactly?" Because he'd spoken to the subject of that kiss on the train, and it'd all seemed fine and dandy to him.
Curious, curious indeed.
As for quidditch? Benjy grinned. "I was planning to. I mean, it'd be a waste of a new broom if I didn't, wouldn't it?" Plus, it might give Mo one more reason not to punch him on behalf of whoever wanted him to.
And that was when Benjy realised quite what Mo was doing with Sophie's hair. "Didn't know you were a hair expert," he said, eyes twinkling. "Could've told me last year, and stopped mine getting so mangled." CoughCough. Also, did they notice it was gone this year? The knotted, shaggy mess? Still fairly long, but back to being shiny again. Mhmm.
"You're safe from me," Mo shrugged. "My sister told me to keep an eye out for her, but I don't think that extends to who she is kissing. Or I hope not because I don't really want to be in charge of anyone's lips but my own." And even his own were just... Cat's now and not even for Mo to worry over.
Benjy earned himself a look when he commented on the braiding. A look, AND an acknowledgement that Mo approved of the haircut. He'd have the whole team shave themselves to be aerodynamic, but apparently that kind of fervor was unappreciated. "Not an expert. Girls like it, though, so... I recommend picking up the skill."

And there was the Headmistress. Mo leaned against the top of Sophie's head as the woman paced the room and began shoving their furniture around. First the chair was greatly abused as she shoved it a few inches, and then she moved on to the ottoman.
Mo moved the chair back as soon as her back was turned, with a flick of his wand.
"Headmistress," Mo called across the room as he hurriedly put his wand away. "I'd be carefully kicking the furniture around in here. Someone keeps sticking things down with a semi-permanent Sticking Charm." Usually just someone's homework or a quill, but it wasn't beyond the ken that furniture was next.
She had a cool name? Yeah, she supposed. Sophie liked it a lot, at least. "Thanks. I'm glad - we've got a good group. A cool Head of House, good student leaders, and everyone tends to get along really well with each other." Well, there were occasional disputes among members of the house, but for the most part, Sophie thought Ravenclaws as a whole were fairly drama-free with each other.
With the other houses? Perhaps that was a different story.
Familiar face after familiar face entered the common room, and Sophie offered a smile and wave back to Hope, Lily, and anyone else who acknowledged her. The family was all together. It felt like home.
A ball of energy had arrived and, though she couldn't blame the older girl for being excited to be back at Hogwarts, Sophie tried to hide her amusement. But the girl knew her name? That was nice. "That's me. Well, hi, then - it's nice to meet you.... creepy?" She looked to Mo, her eyebrows raised. "Is that your preferred nickname?" And if not, why hadn't the girl introduced herself properly?
Creepy indeed.
'Ahoy'? Sophie giggled. "Hi Benjy." She turned around to look at Mo, not minding if he pulled her hair in the process - what Gryffindor had Benjy been kissing? Did he have a girlfriend? Why would Mo hit him for it? She observed Benjy's reaction to this curiously, though, and was even more interested in if he WAS going to go out for Quidditch or not. "Please?" she encouraged, her expression turned sad and puppy-like.
Nothing was wrong. Which... was why his hair was all messed up and he was acting totally zany. Okay. Did their Head of House really have that kind of effect on him? "Plait away." Hope smiled and gave a delayed wave to Sophie. The girl had been right, the climb was awful. At least she had found the room and managed to get the riddle answered right on the first try. She snuggled in deeper to her seat and held her puff in her lap.

"Oh, yes! That would be great. I would want Poppy to be eaten." She felt something moving up her leg and she smiled as the pink puff joined her purple one and they squeaked back and forth at one another. "Hello, Kilo." She ran a hand of each of them in turn. She was comfortable until the Headmistress came in and started nudging things around. "Hello, Headmistress." Feng shui might have a role to play, but shouldn't they plan like a day to move things around? Not just randomly moving things around. She got up and moved seats, taking the puffs with her, in attempt to stay out of the way. She wasn't sure how to help because it wasn't her idea and she didn't want to make the vibe any worse by moving something in the wrong place.

"They do." Heeeeh. Not entirely true, necessarily, but Sophie wanted Brynn to know how AWESOME it was to be a Ravenclaw and how she should be super glad to be there. People of all sorts probably DID envy Ravenclaws and want to be one of them. They were a fun bunch. Who wouldn't want that?

"Could've told me last year, and stopped mine getting so mangled." CoughCough. Also, did they notice it was gone this year? The knotted, shaggy mess? Still fairly long, but back to being shiny again. Mhmm.
Did Benjy know his probably intended gentle punch actually kind of hurt? She winced ever so slightly when he did it, but resisted the urge to hold onto her arm. No showing pain. She was tough. "You'd better. We've got goals to score together." It was nice that he enjoyed flying with her. That made her smile - she had to look away, though, because she didn't know how to respond to such an unexpected comment from him.
He was sweet. Sophie hoped Mo would put the three of them as starting Chasers this term. They'd be unstoppable.

"Would you care to help?"
...What was the Headmistress doing there? Sophie eyed the woman as best as she could from her spot on the floor, not wanting to turn her head and possibly mess up Mo's hard work on her hair.
Seemed suspicious, though, and Sophie didn't trust the woman. She knew what feng shui was very well and couldn't see why Truebridge would be looking out for their best interest. She was a Hufflepuff, after all. Surely the woman didn't want her former house dethroned by Ravenclaw. So... what was it all about?

Sophie did get a scowl at the suggestion that he wasn't good at braiding. Was this the thanks he got for his hard work and generosity? "I mean no need to be fancy because I don't want the other girls to get any funny ideas." But he did loose her braid and start at her temple, this time working on a coronet.
"'Course I did. You're my best friend." Her brows furrowed at that, not liking how vulnerable it sounded, so she added quickly, "And Cat. Did she show you the teddy bears I got her for her birthday?" she pressed on. "I don't think she was wild about 'em, but they were funny." A teddy bear with a mustache? And a teddy bear with a mermaid body? She was laughing again just thinking about it.
"...D'you want it now?" She drummed the gift box with her fingers to let him know what she meant. "Should I save it for later? Y'wanna open it when you're done? Or y'want me to open it for you and show you right now?" She didn't care, no matter what he decided. She was just nervous that he'd hate it. Of course, she didn't expect him to let any trace of disappointment show if he did dislike it, but... she figured she'd get an inkling anyway. She knew his mannerisms pretty well by now.
Had Mo just gotten genuinely upset with her? Or was his grumpy tone meant in jest and she wasn't reading his sense of humor well today? She cringed visibly at his words, but she cleared her throat and remarked, "They're all already jealous." Sophie hoped he'd like her blind compliment, but she continued further, "Thanks for doing this. You didn't have to." Pause. "But I'm glad you did. 'preciate it."
Emma wasn't really sure if the girl liked her, disliked her, or was really just into having debates. She watched as the girl glanced down lazily at her hands. Hmm... "Well, yeah.. you do have a point there, Melek. About it being ages and sweets being a food group but not a 'food'.. that certainly can get confusing." She nodded, taking note of the fact the girl was looking a bit.. off.
"Are you okay? You don't look so good.."
"He's houseist? How so? I have yet to have a negative interaction with any of the professors this term, and he seems really nice..." Emma added, taking her last bite of chocolate frog. "Thank you so much for the chocolate frog, by the way. It was super good."
She shrugged, "Of course I am right..." Melek looked at the girl and then nodded, "Yeah, I am fine... why wouldnt I be?" Mel curled up and tried to get rid of the headache. A sigh escaped and she clinched her mouth shut as her stomach became uneasy.
Melek nodded, "Yeah, he is... and it doesnt matter how... and he is just an evil professor." Mel grumbled and glared as a way to tell the girl to back off. She smiled and nodded, "Yeah, anytime." Melek clutched at her stomach.

Oh. So the girl really didn't seem to like her. "I guess...." Emma mumbled quietly, clenching her fists. Why was the girl being so rude? And acting SO weird?
"Are you sure that you're okay because you really don't look very good. I can take you to the Hospital wing, if you need help." Seriously. The girl didn't look good. But if she snapped at her one more time Emma was going to wipe her hands of her. Yup. Clean escape.
Even if she was in desperate need of friends she wasn't going to be an emotional punching bag either. Although, maybe the girl needed a friend too... and that's why she was grumpy.

Ohhhh levitate. "Sure, I'll take one!" The Headmistress put out her palm like he was just going to drop one in. Go on then, Nigel Boy. Levitate her.
AHAHA there it was, the offer to help. The redhead's face positively lit up. "ABSOLUTELY! Thank you for offering, Prefect. I knew we picked you for a good reason." She beamed at him. "First things first, that couch HAS to go..... to the other side of the room, of course!"

She was a divination professor after all. She should believe in these things.
"Uh, sure," How could Jun deny the headmistress some help? She would force him anyway. Walking over to the chairs, he took two and start dragging them. "Where do you think we should put these?" She seemed like the expert in this anyway.
"I agree. It's a good strategy, no?" She smiled at the helpful Ravenclaw lad and pointed to the windows. "Those will look nice over there, ya know? You'll be able to sit and study and get your Vitamin D all at the same time." Brilliant!

"Who does that?!" the redhead whirled on the spot for the source of the person talking at her... but oh, it was just Marcus. He was a good little Branxton! The son of a former Headmistress and Board Governor! He would never lie to her.
"What a clever way to practice your spellwork," she smirked and went back to moving things. "I'll join in." She pointed her wand at the ottoman instead and levitated it. Soooooo much easier.

She wasn't sure how to help because it wasn't her idea and she didn't want to make the vibe any worse by moving something in the wrong place.
"Hello dear!" the Headmistress greeted the younger 'Claw. "Care to help move things? That coffee table needs to be at 45 degree angle."

"I guess," Sure it was. Not a very confident one, but Jun was gonna have Truebridge believe so. After dragging two chairs to the window, Jun just levitated the rest and sat on one of them afterwards. He needed Vitamin D? Didn't he already get enough with being outside when the sun was up. And too much of it was bad. But okay. The common room received enough sunlight to begin with.

Caelen sighed and stepped into the common room, feeling drowsiness wash over her with each subsequent step. She had spent the last several hourse planet gazing, which had made her annoyed and tired. Luckily the assignment wasn't due yet because she only had a few done.
Finding an empty chair, the girl hopped into it and made herself comfortable, listening to the gossip and thinking about where she wanted to go and work on the homework tomorrow.
Her thoughts then drifted to her friend back home. Spencer and her would sneak out at night and build a tent out of blankets and bedsheet and play board games until they both crashed out on the grass. Luckily they were both small so someone could bring them in. Especially when it rained. She hated staying out there when it rained.
And also, she needed to win the chess game they were playing. The redhead had hesitated sending a letter until she knew the perfect place to put him in check. Because that needed to happen. She was winning this game. Even if it took all year.
Digging the papers out of her pocket, the firstie relaxed as she read the letters her family had sent and looked at the newspaper clippings from their Muggle town. Nothing interesting had happened. Then again, nothing interesting ever happened in her tiny town. It was soooo booooring that it made learning MATH fun. And that's not an easy thing to do.

Josette made her way down the stairs from her dorm with a piece of parchment clutched in her hands. The tiny first year practically burying her face in the written letter, hoping to hide certain new features on her face. Thankfully for her, most of her hair was tucked inside her polar bear hat to hide the other new odd features going on with her.
Reaching one of the sofas beside the crackling fireplace, she sat down getting comfortable immediately. But what she didn't realize was that when she sat down, a few strands of grey hair had come loose from her hat coming in plain sight. She gasped before closing the letter up and placing it on her lap before she quickly took her wrinkly hands to shove the embarrassing grey hair back under her hat. Taking a quick glance around the common room, just to make sure no one had seen her, she breathed a brief sigh of relief when she felt that the coast was clear. She then ducked half of her face in the collar of her shirt hoping to hide most of her face as she picked up her letter to re-read what she had written.

Dear Daddy,
I hope you are doing alright at home. I'm fine. But things here, have been different. Definitely a lot different than home. I do like it here, I'm just not sure if I'm really used to it all yet. OH! Remember when I wrote to you in my last letter I told you about how I was teaching Edwin to fetch more than just my letters?! Well guess what?! He still can't do it yet, but we're working on it! Maybe he can fetch my snacks from the Great Hall? That would be so cool to see! There was something else I wanted to ask you about, but I can't really remember what it was. Hmm....Well I'm sure I'll remember it and when I do, I promise I'll write to you as soon as I can! I love you so much & I miss you very much! I hope Edwin gets this letter to you very soon! I love you Daddy!
Love,
Josie & Edwin
She nodded her head feeling satisfied with her written work before closing up the letter again. Josette would take it to Edwin by the owlery later when she got back from class. She sighed a little bit as she looked around the common room at everyone else around her in her house. But it didn't last long, because her blue eyes soon glanced back towards the crackling fire.

For the first time since the school year had started, Adrienne didn't have anything to do. She was caught up on homework, she didn't have a class to be at, she'd written home, and the library was inconveniently located three floors down. Whoever designed this castle didn't take into account that putting Ravenclaws on the top floor kept them from accessing the library without way too much walking. But given that she didn't have an architect hanging around to remedy the problem, she was left up in the common room with nothing better to do than terrorize some first years, which was always a worthwhile pursuit.
The first girl she saw looked like she was hiding from something, or just really, really immersed in whatever she was writing. Or maybe she was just trying to stick the parchment to her face. Whatever it was, Adrienne thought she looked ripe for the picking (on). As she approached, however, she noticed something.
"Oh my gosh," she exclaimed, "is that a polar bear on your head?" That was the most adorable hat Adrienne had ever seen, and she snatched it off of the first year's head and placed it haphazardly on her own, grinning. "That's so cute. I want one!"

Everything looked alright on the parchment, so she guessed the sooner she'd get to the owlery the sooner she could get back to her dorm. Maybe even take a visit to the hospital wing to ask the school nurse why she was beginning to look like an old troll. She began closing up the letter to go & search for an envelope by one of the desks, but she wouldn't get upn in time.
Before she knew it a random loud voice nearly scared her half to death & practically fall off of the couch. And within seconds Josette saw her grey hairs fall in front of her face, for the random girl in front of her had just snatched her hat off of her heard, revealing her embarrassing features. She gasped desperately trying to cover her head with her hands, but clearly it wasn't covering a majority of her hair. SO she snatched for the next best thing, pillows that were on the couch. Taking the two pillows, she placed them on top of her before looking up at the girl very clearly upset now.
She looked up at the girl who was now wearing her protective hat with a look of panic & sadness on her face. Josette really wanted her hat back & to especially get away from this girl, she was definitely scaring her. That was when she began hearing her father's words again in her head. 'Strangers are dangerous.' Maybe he was talking about girls like her perhaps? If she was, then Josette definitely needed to get away. She asked in a soft yet frantic tone, "Can I please...Have my...Have my hat back?"

To Adrienne's surprise, the kid seemed almost panic-stricken due to her lack of hat. It was a comfortable one, too, knitted, and she adjusted its position on her head before she really noticed what she was looking at. “Duuuude. What’s up with your hair?” She tried to lean in and get a better look, but she was already covering her head with pillows, which was bizarre and yet intriguing. Why was her hair grey? Did this have something to do with the weird wrinkly girl she’d seen in Muggle Studies? Adrienne frowned in thought.
She was soon shaken out of her thoughts by the firstie’s quiet request. Faking a pout, Adrienne tugged on the edges of the hat and bounced on her toes. “Aww, c’mon, it’s so comfy,” she said. “Besides, I lost all of my hats, and it’s getting cold. Have some pity!” To be honest, she had no idea if she had any hats. She hadn’t even finished unpacking her trunk from the beginning of the year, and it wasn’t yet cold enough to root through it for hats and scarves and such. But she liked the polar bear, and more importantly, she found the distress she was causing the first year endlessly hilarious.

Ohhhh drats! She saw her hair! No, that's what she was trying to avoid! Josette was feeling even more embarrassed now that this girl noticed it. She couldn't answer the girl's question as to what was wrong with her hair. Josette didn't even have an answer for that herself. She literally no explanation as to what was going on with her! Why did she have to insist on taking notice of it, as well as take her hat that was successfully covering her hair, even if it wasn't very cold in the common room?! Josette suddenly gasped when the girl tried to lean in & get closer to her. She automatically leaned back into the couch trying to space herself.
Josette noticed the girl turn her face into a pout, but for some reason it didn't look too realistic to her. It was almost like she was mocking her or something. Now this girl was trying to tell her to have some pity. But, she was the one who took her hat though? Shouldn't it be her who should at least have some sort of pity for Josette? Wait, was she trying to tell Josette to let her keep the hat? She spoke, "But..But..I'm sure you're parents..might have packed you some hats somewhere..in your trunk.." Josette paused and asked, "Can I please have my hat back?"

'Whatever you do. Don't cry. Do NOT cry.'
Adrienne noticed the lack of an answer coming from the girl, and she frowned, leaning back from the girl. Sure, it was fun to scare her, but it was more fun to investigate curiosities, and the grey hair was definitely a curiosity she’d like to investigate. Weird things were always happening, and she wanted to be right there in the middle of them. She worried her bottom lip between her teeth as she thought and then, after a moment’s hesitation, took a seat on the couch next to the uncomfortable-looking girl.
She whipped the hat off her head, holding in front of the first year’s face for a moment before snatching it away. “Okay, here’s the deal,” she drawled. “I’ll give you this back,” Adrienne said, pointing at the hat dangling in her hand, “if you tell me what happened to make your hair go all weird.” And her face, a bit, but she didn’t mention it. She wasn’t that cruel. Besides, insulting the kid would get her nowhere. Now she wanted answers, and obviously threats and blackmail were the way to go about getting them.

She was still gripping onto her pillows covering her hair as this girl was continuing to keep her hat hostage. Should she try begging the girl next maybe? What would she have to do to get her hat back? What would she have to do in order for this girl to stop being so intent on making her upset?
Wait- What was she doing?
Josette immediately jumped when the girl suddenly took a seat next to her on the couch. She watched her carefully as she took her hat off of her head and held in front of her face only to snatch it away again. She waned to make a deal? Josette's never made deals before. Was it dangerous? Would she get hurt? However cautious she was feeling, she gave the girl her full attention as she spoke to her. It was when she heard the deal that Josette frowned again. She lowered her head beginning to feel more and more upset. "But...I don't know why my hair is doing this.." She struggled not to cry again. "I just noticed my hair was changing another color.."

Adrienne bit back her laughter at the desperate look on the girl's face, but she too couldn't help but be somewhat disappointed when she heard the answer she gave. Not knowing didn't help her at all, and the more the girl skirted around the issue the more she wanted to know exactly what was going on here. Grey hair, wrinkly faces, maybe someone had cursed half the school with some sort rapid ageing thing? That would make sense, but why?
She went back to interrogating the first year. "Well, have you drunk any weird potions recently? Tried a spell on yourself? Touched any magic items?" There had to be SOMETHING she'd done to cause this, otherwise why would it be happening? And why only to some of the students, and not everyone? Adrienne certainly hadn't been experiencing any weird effects, which she was glad of. Being old and achy wasn't exactly on her to-do list for the next forty years.
Melek came down from the dorms and hopped over the back of the couch. She landed on the couch and sprawled out. Mel smiled and pulled out her journal and a chocolate frog. Melek munched on the frog and started to write in her journal. She tapped the feathery end of her quill against her cheek, pausing for a few seconds to think about how to word a sentence then started to write it. Soon the chocolate was gone and there was a smudge of it on the edge of her lap. Mel was suppose to meet up with Annaleecia or she was suppose to do homework or have a class... or at least something but she didnt really know what she was suppose to do. Melek wasnt in the mood to do anything right now but write in her journal anyways so that was what she kept doing. Mel did have a bag with her, however, which held books in case she got too bored writing in her journal. It had landed about a foot beside the end of the couch that was holding her head. She hoped that she wasnt going to be forced to sit up if a Ravenclaw needed a seat. Melek didnt feel like moving. Her thoughts started to wander away towards quidditch. Mel was still surprised that she had made it on the quidditch team.
