The Main Stage and Seating area takes up the whole front of the Great Hall. There are round tables which seat eight or so people scattered everywhere, covered in white tablecloths, and decorated with red roses and place settings. Lit red candles float near the ceiling, casting a warm glow on the diners. To either side of the Great Hall are long trestle tables laden with all sorts of valentines food... only the table on the left features Valentines themed food like pizza with heart-shaped pepperoni, heart-shaped sushi, and pink lemonade, while the table on the right has a more anti-love theme with candy hearts that state slogans like 'cupid stay away', 'it's not me, it's you' and 'leave me alone', and cupcakes with hearts on them that would be cute if it wasn't for the little licorice dagger piercing each heart right through the centre.
Even closer to the front of the Great Hall is a large stage, right where the staff dais usually is. In front of the stage is a sizable dance floor, ready for anyone who wants to get up and show off the skills they learned with Flamsteed. As for the music, that is provided by The Dead Kneazles, a student band consisting of Vesper Bayliss, Nigel Barrington, West Odessa, and Ascanius Stark. They will be performing danceworthy tunes in 20-30 minute sets, and when they aren't up there rocking out for your listening and grooving pleasure, a sound system will play a selection of classic Muggle and Wizarding love and anti-love themed hits.
So come and eat, or dance, or just sit and chatter. Love is in the air!
Or is it?
ooc: Feel free to make up what kind of love or anti-love themed food or drinks your character finds on the two tables! While you may not RP for the band itself, you are more than welcome and encouraged to RP dancing to different songs (and saying what songs are playing on the sound system when the band isn't around), or just listening and watching as your character pleases!

"I'm not..." She wasn't trying to be at least. But she really did want Alice dances no matter what she said, and it did hurt a lot when her best didn't participate, even if she didn't like them herself. And it was even harder not to look hurt around her though she did a mighty fine job, and anyone who said otherwise was getting a hex to the face.
Mostly though, her face was on Alice for her to see only. Safer that way.
Two dances though. She cheered up subtly. "Promise?"

"Ummm...well...its complicated.." he began. "I mean...she was the one who kissed me on the dance floor and now things have gotten awkward a little bit.." he said to Awarlesta. He didn't want anyone to know yet and plus he trusted her. "What do you think i should do?"
He saw Annalee waiting for him and he smiled and waved towards her to acknowledge he saw her.

Aaaaand... if you think Lottie wouldn't notice a blush, then you're mistaken as well.
"It makes sense. Practice makes perfect." Everyone knew this. Magic, Quidditch, music, life. Practice made you better, no kidding. The last bit she didn't know but she supposed to be true, particularly coming from Vesper. "He's amazing with the audience, too." Just saaaying.
AND SHE WAS SO EXCITED. Vesper, that is. Therefore, Lottie was a bit too, because it was contagious!
"I think I told you that when I first heard you play, remember? Halloween?" That's when they met, wasn't it? Vesper had known who Lottie was, just not the other way around. She remembered Ascanius being in the room, too. Clearly on the lookout for talent. "Today was the first time I heard you sing, though."BEAM. At her 'group' comment the Hogwartian nodded and suppressed words about no need for four members, "You are, I haven't heard you separately, but I agree," they complemented each other.
BUT WAIT. "I demand the best seats and backstage passes when you guys get to tour all over the world, by the way. Sydney, Tokio, London, New York, wherever."Wink. That'd be brilliant. Like getting Quidditch tickets from Dylan, right?
Reaction noticed, yup, and this girl merely smirked. How cute, Vesper. The Ravenclaw had her full attention now as she listened to the explanation, "I think it's brilliant, you have to show me how it's done."Nod, nod, nod. It's a must. "Later, not now, of course." There was no hurry.
That question surprised her. A lot. A LOT. It wasn't a question she got too often, you know? Actually, besides Alec, this is the first time someone has asked about Tag. Her eyes lit up, however, and she shook her head, "Not here," she did smile, but honestly, she didn't feel like saying where he was? He was up in the Gryffindor tower, but she wasn't used to these sort of questions. And then she laughed, "Not exactly? Like, it's not much of a special day, it's just the 14th day of February, that's all. We both feel that way." Mmhmm. Vesper did too, you could tell.
"Yes, I do remember Halloween.".....Somewhat. That had been a crazy night for everyone, from what she did remember. Vesper had played games and then parked herself at the piano for the remainder of her time there, busying herself with music so she didn't make wrong decisions. Merlin, she was boring..."Ascanius and Nigel were there, too.....I think." Erm, it was fuzzy...
HAHA. "Lottie, slooooooow down. Who said we're going to be mega famous?" Though, it was compliments to her and her bandmates as a whole, Vesper blushed furiously. It was amazing to think and dream about, of course...but was it really a possibility? For them? Ves hoped that if it did happen, they'd stay together. It was depressing to hear about fame splitting up bands....and she had to agree with Lottie about something. Yes, West was amazing. "He knows it, too." It wasn't hard to spot him in the crowd, grabbing food and water. She didn't allow herself to look for too long.
"I'll draw on you sometime if you want." Ves latched onto the distraction...The ink she'd used on hers was semi-permanent. So, it'd stay for a week or so. Since Spring was so close...it'd be good for that, right? People would enjoy showing off some art...like she did. Maybe. "...for free, too." BEAM.
The Ravenclaw was just nodding to her about Tag when West started heading back towards the stage. Ves didn't know how she'd known he was doing as much...she wasn't staring or anything...but she'd noticed. That was odd. "I suppose that's my cue." Looking down at her hand, she hadn't realized she'd been eating pieces of pepperoni off a nearby pizza. How absentminded of her, gosh. "Erm...sorry to anyone that was hungry for this particular pizza."
Blush.
"I'll see you a bit later, okay? Enjoy the next set!" She leaned in to give Lottie a one-armed hug before snatching up her watch bottle and making her way back towards the stage. Quickly...because MORE MUSIC. Ugh, there was that adrenaline that had never truly left...ROARING back into full focus and making her want to fling herself at random people...Shiver. Excitement was weird. Made people weird. Was making her weird.

Well, and people, but mostly food. He grabbed a water bottle and loaded up a plate and his mouth then turned to head back...
He popped outside for a bit, finished his food and took care of other things, then came back in feeling better. He kept hold of his water bottle though as he headed back to the stage, climbed up, and got situated.
A few swigs of his water and West picked his guitar up again, ready to get back into it. The others got big smiles from him as they came back to the stage too. Second set time!
"This next song is by a band called The Kinks... You Really Got Me." As was his habit, he licked the pad of his thumb before he started playing the opening notes. His eyes landed on Olly. Oh she was HERE? Awesome. Grin. He started singing, eyes still on the Hufflepuff.
"Girl... you really got me going... you got me so I don't know what I'm doing... yeah you really got me now... you got me so I can't sleep at night... Yeah you really got me now... you got me so I don't know what I'm doin' now... Oh yeah you really got me now... you got me so I can't sleep at night..." He looked over at Ves as she joined in on the You Really Got Me's, and then he pushed his hair out of his face in the brief pause before the next verse, and this time he sought out Alice. There she was. Brows to you girlfriend.
"See... don't ever set me free... I always wanna be by your side... Girl... you really got me now... you got me so I can't sleep at night..."
Soon enough it was time to rest his voice and let his guitar sing. That was always his favourite part. He grinned back at Nigel and went hard, completely lost in the moment and yet still being a total showboat and putting it all out there in the audience, as if he was singing specifically to every single girl out there.
But don't worry, Alice, it was just the music.

(The first one, but who cared...start strong, he always said.)
Twirling his drumsticks inbetween his fingers, Ascanius tested out the bass pedal while West set up their next set. Right, the kinks. Less throwing his limbs around to really get the drum hits out. This was a smaller box of playing and a good transition song to start their set.
Keeping it light and almost groovy, yeah he'd go as far as to say that, Ascanius underscored the rest of the band's music. And the vocals. Which were important, y'know?
Though, he didn't miss West basically giving eyes to every single girl in the audience. Kudos. He was the guy singing...every girl was looking at him anyway........Ascanius admired the female attention tactic. Impressive.
He glanced quickly at Nigel and silently almost asked him if he wanted to pick up the tempo on this song... 'cause it was dragging a little for his taste. 'Sides he felt it could use a little more, what did Vesper always say, noise. Yeah, more noise for sure.
So he did a lick on his cymbal and played out the song strong.
OOC. Band!Moding...'tis a thing.
Wiping her hands with a towel (since they had those for sweating reasons), she made sure her fingers were squeaky clean before picking back up the black tambourine. No piano for this next song...if Ves remembered right. As she settled back in front of the mic, West got a brilliant smile...and then Ascanius and Nigel. She was ready. Mhm.
When West announced the song and began playing the intro, Vesper had to look away momentarily. He always licked his thumb...and it made her blush. Not that she knew why it did...but it did. So, just for a moment...and then she was throwing herself into the music, harmonizing with practiced ease, tambourine rhythmically rattling in her hand. Who would've thought she had rhythm? Music taught her all the things.
It was a fun song...and one that West could really play up the crowd with. Seriously, who wouldn't want West singing something like this to them, though? He'd even looked her way, strumming and belting out the You really got me's, which was her cue to back him up. To be perfectly honest, they sang to each other all the time, so...something like this wasn't too unusual...Vesper just couldn't indulge like she usually would because of the eyes on them. It was okay to be obvious in private because West didn't think much of it, or so she thought...but people didn't need reasons to say things. They could be ugly enough without prompting.
With the last chords of the song fading away, Vesper shared another beaming smile with West...mainly because of the next song. Yet another one where she'd stay station at the mic with tambourine in hand...It was also another one of those songs that West would really get into...as well as showcasing Ascanius and Nigel. Great band song.
So, when West finally announced SEVEN NATION ARMY, Ves thought she might fling herself at him....but gripped the mic tighter in her left hand...to stop AND ancher herself to the spot. She loved Jack White, okay? It just...Words couldn't properly explain. And yes, they knew it wasn't actually a bass that had started the original, but Nigel would open them up with this. Him and his white suit...Vesper watched him, semi-mesmerized as he laid out the beginning beats....and then Ascanius joining him, making the bass notes fuller. To be honest, she felt a little dizzy, allowing the music to envelop her soul. Rawr.
Oh...It was her vocal up first...Mhm. Her eyes cut to West's for a moment. She KNEW he was excited, too. Jack White....West kinda looked him, actually. Blink. THINK ABOUT THAT LATER. "I'm gonna fight 'em off....A seven nation army couldn't hold me back..." She shifted towards the crowd, working her tambourine with deliberate beats against her hip..."They're gonna rip it off....Taking their time right behind my back..." There was grit in her voice this go 'round...probably slightly roughed up from the first set. It fit, though..."And I'm talkin' to myself at night...because I can't forget..." People were getting some sassy eyes...mainly to fit the mood of the song. Not for any other reasons...
"Back and forth through my mind..."...The lyric was dropped due to content...and Ves allowed herself to get a little angry with the next words. "...And the message comin' from my eyes says leave it alone..." The mic was clutched in her hand as she bent over to the side, the notes pushed out with ferocity...but her eyes stayed on West, watching him work that guitar. The chords to this song were so epic. It was hard not to feel it all over.
Dun dun dun dun DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNN.
...............Gosh, this was so much fun.

Olly had been making her way over to the buffet to get a drink and maybe something to eat but stopped moving once the band started playing again. That had been a short break. Not that she minded. Though, she still hadn't found Schuyler again. She really regret having left her side in the first place now. How hard could it be to spot a gorgeous brunette in the crowd?
For a moment at least she was distracted from her search by what was going on on-stage, though. West was looking at her and that paired with the lyrics of the song made Olly smirk slightly. REALLY? She shook her head, clearly amused, and rested her eyes on the Slytherin for a second longer, even after he had moved on to first looking at his bandmate and then his girlfriend.
Olly turned her head to say something to Schuyler...only, of course the other girl wasn't in fact next to her. Okay, she should probably calm down. But she was just so used to having her girlfriend around that it was weird not to. Even though she definitely was around her SOMEWHERE.
She stared at the air next to her for a moment before frowning slightly. Why did SHE have to go look for Schuyler. The Gryffindor could just as well come looking for her! Though she probably was. Or wasn't. Who knew. Nonetheless, Olly found herself walking through the crowds again, craning her neck.

Let alone logic coming from his girlfriend. But without explaining the reason why he found it difficult to try to be open to people he didn’t exactly know, all of the logic in the world wouldn’t have made much sense. “The question though is how to do that, I mean the only reason that you know I’m not a bad guy is because we’ve talked a lot and plus I haven’t done anything to prove otherwise. Not that I plan on it either since you deserve not to be dealing with bad people.” he said, only continuing to dance which kept from any chance of getting annoyed by things. Sure all of this could have been avoided had he at least said hi to people but seeing as that was a challenge in of itself; wouldn’t really be happening anytime soon without finding some way which wouldn’t have ended up in a total disaster. Why did this have to be so confusing? It couldn’t have been straightforward like music was.
Not a single word was said as they kept dancing together, but there was nothing that needed to be said since right now practically had been as close to perfect as was humanly possible; he didn’t want to think about anything else that ruined the moment. Well until the band had taken a break for the time being which he clearly understood since there was no way that anyone could keep playing songs without needing a rest. “Well, why don’t we get something to eat and just talk some more? I think that there’s a lot I could tell you, some that can wait until later but at least it’s not silence.” he commented before moving his hands from her waist and simply taking her hand in one of his for now. There was nothing else that he had wanted to do, since leaving here wasn’t an option.
Lily had been perfectly fine with them not talking while they’d been dancing. In fact, she almost wished that they hadn’t still been talking, since it had been kind of nice just resting her head on Austin’s shoulder, letting the music take over her thoughts and everything. Of course, that had ended all too soon, as West’s band had taken their break between sets and it hadn’t been the same dancing to the recorded music. Live music had more emotion behind it. That was why she liked playing it, even if most people never would get to hear her singing. She couldn’t ignore him when he’d spoken, though. That would have seemed hypocritical, even if she didn’t want to interrupt the little quiet dancing moment. “Would it be easier if I introduced you to people?,” she asked softly, now that the music was at least slightly lower. They could have talked without having to be loud, and she figured that made it easier on him. There was less chance of people listening in. She figured they didn’t have too long between sets, but it hopefully would be enough that they could get this figured out and not miss too much of the next set.
She’d nodded slightly when he’d answered her question as to what they’d do after they’d stopped dancing. “Sure. I mean, we don’t have forever before there’s probably going to be more real music, but I could get a snack,” she replied. Besides, there was the possibility that every song wouldn’t be entirely danceable, anyway, so maybe they could keep talking even after Vesper, Ascanius, and the others had reconvened. She’d seen the two of them talking to people in the small crowd gathered, as she’d started heading over toward the food table to see what was there, leading Austin just the tiniest bit since he still had her hand in his. By the time they’d gotten over there, and she’d decided on taking a small bowl of berries to munch on, the performance had started again, but she’d still simply headed for a table. Letting Austin follow if he wished. Like she’d guessed, they were back to quicker-paced songs, even if they still were good. She’d rather do more slow dancing, so talking could happen for now. “Okay. What’s really up?,” she asked as he’d joined her. That sounded better than just asking him what had happened before, slightly anyway. It wasn’t accusatory or irritated, just curious. That had been really weird, and she didn’t want him to feel like a bad person.

Seren wasn't feeling particularly enthused about the event this year, but that probably had something to do with the fact that it was well past her scheduled nap time. With a small sigh to herself, and a brave smile, Seren took her raspberry lemonade and retired to the seating area at the main stage. Sitting would do her some good, her legs weren't what they used to be...
Her brave smile soon turned into a genuine one at the sound of the music the students were performing. It was perhaps too loud for her liking, but she was thrilled for them nonetheless. So much so, that her head was bopping in tune to them, her excess neck skin flapping slightly with it's wrinkly goodness. When did it get so loose?
West grinned at that little Beverly kid when he passed her. Enjoying the show then? That was good. He was especially glad when his housemates apparently enjoyed and approved, given they had to put up with plenty of practicing from him and Ascanius and all. And Adds! West gave her an excited wave, lighting up eagerly from a distance. It just meant so much having his mates here. Maybe she'd dance with him later? He made a mental note to seek her out on the next break.
Addi waved back. Okay. West had actually seen her so there was really no way she could sneak out now. She'd probably never hear the end of it. Plus, she was enjoying listening to the music. She looked around at everyone dancing as West began to sing again.
Sigh. Maybe she should just go dance and at least try and have some fun. She recognized the song West started singing right after the break and started to sing along herself. She didn't recognize the next song, but she had actually started to bob along to the music. Okay. Maybe this thing wasn't that bad. Just the theme was awful.

Swaying to the music, she was subconsciously aware of the change in beat, and the little tug closer to the astronomer professor. A twitch of a smile had appeared, no doubt having gone unnoticed, but the singing...the singing close to her ear...was all but missed. A breath of a faint giggle escaped her as she smiled warmly, leaning her head softly upon his shoulder. Even with the elder age, he still sang wonderfully.
Reluctantly though, with the upcoming upbeat song, she lifted her head and glanced to the stage. Oh? Really...upbeat. Her finger started to tap a little to the music upon Airey's arm before she looked to him. "Do you vont to get something to drink...or something?"
They didn't haaaaave to staaaaay.
He hadn't been entirely prepared from the uptempo beat and temporarily looked like a deer in headlights as the sound processed in his brain and eventually turned into actions. Actions that were currently limited to just rubbing his hand up and down her back.
Oh. Ouch. That was a sharp pain in his left arm.
Wincing for a few moments until the pain subsided, he leaned back a bit to look down at Medea and was pleasantly surprised to not be looking at the top of her head. "I think I'm fine, but do you want something? I could hobble over and get it for you."
Venturing a glance towards the food area, the astronomer noticed Seren and offered the woman a feeble wave before turning his attention back to his date. "I rather like this song though. Be a shame to miss the performance."

"Absolutely." Delilah eyed Lottie some more. You know, eyeing. The girl just cleared her throat and continued, "These guys are amazing... and Vesper's voice is lovely." Nod.
Also. She smirked a little before she bent her head down to look at Lottie's shoes. Heels. Heh, she knew it. "You look tall."

The boy then led Delilah over to the table where he and his friends had met up at the beginning of the event, which was obviously empty by now. He pulled a chair for her before proceeding to sit down, beside her.
Despite his efforts to distract himself with the cupcake that had started to taste like newspaper after having had entirely too many throughout the night, Lou couldn't help looking over at his friend every once in a while. She was so effortlessly pretty and it was a little distracting. He'd always known she was far better-looking than the average girl, but it seemed more noticeable now.
It probably had something to do with the alley.
... It totally had something to do with the alley.
"Um..." Louis seemed a bit surprised with himself, as if he didn't realize that his mouth had decided to speak out on its own, "After this, would you like to..." Err. What was he doing. "Go somewhere?"
He was already regretting the invitation. HE WASN'T SUPPOSED TO. Hello?! What happened to that wise little voice in his head?! But. But. But.
"Uh-- we don't have to if you don't want to," he quickly added as if trying to redeem himself.
Nope. Nah. Still ashamed.
Delilah's smile widened to a grin as they approached the food tables. YUM! She quickly grabbed a plate and loaded it with fooooood which mostly included pizza. Caaaaause, she loved pizza. And it looked vegetarian. Awesome. She followed Louis back to his table and sat down, quickly making her way through the food. Okay, this was good. See, the food made this concert even more worth it.
She poured herself a glass of water and sipped at it a little before she resumed eating. What? She was hungry, okay!? ...... And then Lou said something that literally made her choke a bit. Cue coughing.
Uhm. WHAT.
...... GO SOMEWHERE. ALONE. OH. OH. OHHHHH. Delilah just stared at him for a moment, her cheeks turning bright red. As much as she was enjoying the concert and the music, spending the rest of her night with Lou sounded more than appealing.
She sipped at her water some more before she finally nodded, blushing even more. Oh, jeez.
Not a boy of many words? At least not today, it seemed.
If you think for a second that Lotus Acacia Wisteria, of all people, missed this little reaction to Delilah's words and overall presence then you, my friend, are clearly mistaken. She was excellent at noticing these things, she just kept it all to herself. Same as Lex pretended to be oblivious to certain things.
Why, of course, she wouldn't comment on it, because that would make things... rather embarrassing, perhaps? It was none of her business. But allllll that staaaaaaring, Jere... the Hogwartian poked swatted at his shoulder gently, "Where are you from, again?" Durmstrang?
And...can we say that West clearly knows how to address an audience? CAN WE? Because he DOES IT SO WELL, man, SO WELL! And Lottie was just beaming at Vesper and watching Ascanius from time to time, and they were surprisingly AWESOME! All the HOURS of practices clearly paid off. Nigel got ignored, as far as Lottie could tell... there were only three members, not four.
We're not gonna lie, it was the awkwardest thing ever to be standing next to Jeremiah when the slow song was up, but since she was focusing on the band, then it stopped being awkward after a few seconds. It probably helped that she had stopped holding his arm. THAT helped a lot, because super!awkward stuff otherwise.
BUT IT WAS TIME FOR A BREAK NOW. And Lottie was oh-so-incredibly proud for those three. SUPER PROUD. Particularly Vesper, she did AMAZING. She'll wait for her here, yup.
talk about embarrassing..
>.<
he was totally lost in his own world of sorts just staring off in Delilah's general direction.. more at her really.. until he felt a smack poke of his shoulder from Lottie over here, and that was when he blinked and shook his head and realized he had been staring... totally staring and all he wanted to do was hide.. just back into his room, no one else allowed and die.. was a good plan really. "Ugh.. Durmstrang.. yeah." she did ask where he was from before here right, that's what he meant not like location where were you born from, ugh.. crap.. this was horrible.. the slow music didnt help the awkwardness he created either. nope.
HE knew he shouldnt of came!

"Um.. are you okay?" Because now he was staring right back at her. She frowned, wondering if she had something on her face.
was he ok, NO he wasnt okay he was more embarrassed then rat in an owl den. No Delilah, No he wasnt okay. you could just leave him here to die and that would be cool cause you know he was doing so anyway.. gosh the blush was getting worse!
"I.. yeah.. Im cool.. just got distracted staring at the..... stage..." yeah no, no one was buying that one Walker. It was clear and obvious he was staring at her and he needed to just Man up and DO something about it, so he stood there and tried to muster up some courage.. He was going to ask her to dance, even if it killed him, which it might.
She looked over at them, then timidly walked over. She really was thinking the common room would be smart at this point... just go and chill out stay hidden for at least a month from everyone. Her main thing was right now it just kinda seemed like she wasn't wanted around anymore and she couldn't blame him for that.
She sighed slightly as she looked between the two of them, already feeling like she was the one outside... This was her fault after all... She was the one who was stupid, and she was the one who'd probably ruin the night if she stayed... Anna started to take a step away but stopped herself, She would try to get back to normal before she ran off...

She timidly shook her head to Kace's question, "I've never met her." Anna gave a small nod to the older girl, "I'm um... I'm Annaleecia, but please, call me Anna." She gave a weak smile hoping to seem at least a little less upset than she really was... And then Kace had to mention their conversation and she looked down again. Great... So I probably seem odd to her. Maybe it would be better if she did leave.. Kace could have fun with his friend and she could just go and hide for the rest of the year. Right now that seemed like the best idea to her.
"Exactly! Oui! It is always the pastries, 'ow ever did we trust zhem?" Justine said, laughing along with the Ravenclaw boy, finding it nearly impossible to keep a straight face, partly because of how silly they were being, but partly because Andrew's laughter was seriously infectious.
Justine was delighted when Andrew not only went along with her ploy of accusing the macaroons, but even continued on to admonish them with the same enthusiasm and silliness that she had herself accosted them with. It was really refreshing to see someone who didn't care about being seen as unusual or strange.
"Well said Andrew, I zhink, per'aps, in this case, it was warranted, possibly even necessary!" Justine said, her dark eyes narrowing in distrust as she gazed upon the offending macaroons (though she had eaten many, there were still quite a few left on her plate, which seemed extraordinary to the young woman). "I do believe, zhey will need punishment, of zee 'ighest order, what do you suggest?" Justine asked, raising up the plate for Andrew so that he might deliver the verdict.
And now he was complimenting her accent again, telling her it was gorgeous, that it made her sound unique and special, and what was he getting at? And why was she blushing? She didn't blush, she wasn't that sort of girl, blushing and flirting and... Oh for Circe's sake, she was flirting, she hadn't realized it, but now that she actually thought it through, her coy smiling, playing with her hair, and blushing? Yep, she was flirting, what on earth had come over her. She suddenly felt very self-conscious, a feeling as foreign and unfamiliar to her as having a tail would feel. Just relax, stop acting so weird. Justine thought, slightly admonishing herself. "You really are too kind Andrew, I cannot possibly accept such praise," Justine said, smiling softly up at the young man, suddenly uncertain as to what she should do with her limbs. "You 'ave a very nice accent as well, w'ere are you from?" the French girl asked, quite aware that she had barely asked the young man any questions about himself.
When Andrew laughed, she knew immediately she must have said something wrong, her feeling was confirmed when the boy playfully corrected her by using the correct term. Justine laughed at her error, her hand reaching up to her mouth in a slightly embarrassed gesture. "Oui, zat is wat I meant, why, wat did I say?" Justine said archly, with a haughty look that did not reach her green eyes, which practically sparkled with mischief.
Justine's eyes were as wide as dinner plates as she listened to the young man, his parent spoke five languages? And she had thought she was accomplished for speaking two. "Five? Une, deux, trois, quatre, cinq? My goodness, but zhey are very talented, i see now why you 'ave such a good ear," Justine exclaimed, quite impressed by his parents knowledge and evident love of learning. They seemed like very clever and fascinating people, much like their son. "Obviously, you inherited zeir intelligence and love of learning," Justine said, speaking quite sincerely. Not to mention rather cute, no really, where had that thought come from? Justine wasn't sure, but that didn't stop her from placing the blame on those delicious, but obviously evil macaroons.
"Pensez-vous? Vous m'avez vraiment impressionné maintenant." Justine said, speaking in her native French to give the boy a very small, playful test.
"We were fools to trust them! They should be locked up for good!" Andrew snickered, playing along with the pastry game. "Except that one!" He pointed at a random macaroon in the middle of the plate and singled it out. "He's the ringleader! Seize him! He shall hang at dawn!" He laughed. It wasn't easy to say that last sentence about a macaroon without cracking up, and he hadn't quite managed to, but he had at least made an attempt, which really only served to make the resulting gasp of laughter all the more out of place and hilarious.
Andrew was too busy laughing at himself to care about being embarrassed because he accidentally made a weird sound, or referred to a macaroon as 'The Ring Leader'. People would just have to think him crazy if they wanted to. There were already those who disliked Andrew for being himself, and if they were going to leave him be because they thought he talked to pastries, that was fine with him.
Justine's facial expression revealed a change to Andrew that he wasn't sure he liked. She seemed to tense up and become slightly more uncomfortable. He wondered if it was something he said as she politely turned down his praise and asked him where he was from. Hesitating slightly, wondering if he had insulted her. Why was he such an idiot? He began to answer her question, trying to shrug off that hurtful thought, quickly regaining his enthusiasm. "Well, I was born in Bordeaux, but I'm from the English side of the family. I grew up in Kent!" He laughed at how boring he sounded compared to Justine.
Andrew felt a little guilty. He had only meant his correction playfully, not to make Justine feel bad about her accent or her knowledge of the English Language. He thought her accent was beautiful. "You said- N- Nevermind, you got it right on the money!" He chuckled, figuring that it really wasn't that big of an error. He smiled at Justine apologetically, hoping she hadn't suddenly realize what an idiot he was sometimes!
"Yeah, Five languages each! That's in addition to English, so I suppose the real number is six!" He nodded at Justine's surprise. Andrew's parents were the smartest people he knew and they had really inspired him in his pursuit of knowledge. Not to mentioned threatened to disown him if he didn't get sorted into Ravenclaw. "Well, thank you v- Wow, Thank you! He blushed embarrassingly at her compliment. "That means a lot coming from someone so beautiful." He replied before he could really think about his response. It just sort of slipped out. He didn't know what to do. Whatever it was that pulled that out of him, he assumed the macaroons had something to do with it. Especially the ring leader!
"I totally understood that!" He laughed enthusiastically, happy that he hadn't failed his first easy French test. "Je fais de mon mieux pour.. impressionner?" He made a poor attempt at replying in French, blushing even more at his perceived incompetence. He himself couldn't see anything grammatically incorrect about the way he worded his reply, but how could he be sure? If only his parents could see him now.

Since the dancing was over, Austin really wasn’t sure what to do now since having that moment where talking had not been needed and just all frustrations ceased to exist; nothing really made sense. Plus it didn’t hurt that Lily had her head on his shoulder, honestly that was the reason that he wanted to dance with her back in the lesson even if he hadn’t been allowed to, it would have gone a lot better but that didn’t exactly matter anymore. Those rules had not longer been in place which definitely was a good thing since he didn’t want to deal with that all again, it pretty much had been pointless. As soon as she started talking, he focused his attention back on her since no one was about to be proven right here; he wasn’t a rude guy. “I think that might help. Maybe it’ll help me get over the nervousness I get with talking to random people.” he replied, his voice almost at a whisper which really was enough for his girlfriend to be able to hear.
It seemed as though that Lily had been not exactly thought twice about leading him over to the food table which really wasn’t a problem since he could have used a snack before going back to dancing later on, and only began to browse at what he could have had to eat, then picked up a couple of chocolates since having sugar was never a bad idea. Plus it kept the potential for stuttering to return very low, which really was a good thing. Before he had gotten the opportunity to eat one of the chocolates, the questions continued though at least this had been the chance to explain things. Even if it probably could have waited until they were alone since he didn’t want to deal with anyone overhearing by accident. “Okay I can explain this in detail later on since I don’t want to make you worried or anything, but sometimes when the idea of me making people upset gets too much, the stuttering comes out and I try to not let it come out. It also can happen when I’m having conversations with people I haven’t met before as well.” he managed to explain, keeping his voice low so that Lily really was the only one to be able to get his explanation.

"Hey," she said as a greeting once he came close enough for him to hear her. She grinned at him trying to ignore that memory asdfghjkl.
So. The concert. She wasn't sure if her actually would enjoy the music, but she sure would. Turning her attention back to the stage, she remembered to point out West.
ASDFGHJKL. "LOOK THAAAAAT ONE'S WEST. The attractive one." Well really they were ALL attractive. Even the Casper-girl. ESPECIALLY the Casper-girl. She sighed up at West. Hello, obsession.
AND GIGGLING ENSUED WITH HIS COMMENT. "Fangirling is like, being a groupie with extreme flailing. So you might want to stay away to not get hit by any flailing limbs."But she didn't want him far.
Mitchell couldn't help but grin at Goldilock's kissable grin. Her smile was contagious.
He turned his attention to the band as the girl explained who they were. Yeah. It sounded like gibberish. So did the explaination of fangirling. She might as well have been saying random strings of letters like 'agkjaehrgjklegar' or something.
That's about how much he cared about this band girling... fangirling? What was it again? ... he took a step back. Flailing limbs did not sound fun. So much for dancing.
"You didn't bring Tozzy." he commented. Not that he wanted her to. It was just a comment since she told him to bring Ralphie.

"Everything's going to be okay. Just relax. Be happy people find you attractive!" Awar joked.
She smiled big at the girl, hoping that it'll make her more relaxed, "Pleasure to meet you, Anna! Join the party!" Awar joined into Kace's dancing, but Anna was just not having it, it seemed. She reached over and lightly pinched the young girl's cheeks, "No frownie faces!" The Hufflepuff took a hold of her housemate's hands moving them toward and away from her in attempt to make the young puff smile a bit.

Mostly though, her face was on Alice for her to see only. Safer that way.
Two dances though. She cheered up subtly. "Promise?"
Of course, Alice could see the hurt faces and most definitely didn't want her best making them. Apparently dance bargains worked wonders, though. Was it that easy? She tilted her head for a moment and considered exactly how torturous dancing would be. If Dora continued to let her stand on her toes.... minimal movement... hm...
"Three if you smile proper."
There. That was a GOOD deal. Take it or leave it.

Kace smiled and it was comforting that people found him attractive. It was a good thought. As Annalee joined the dance floor, he was happy they Lesta and her were getting along. He even moved to talk to Anna and said, "Anna i do forgive you but let's try to forget about what happened okay? For our friendship sake?" he asked with his fist out for her to fist bump him.
He was laughing at Lesta dancing too. He even commented, "Lesta i think we should win a dance award of some kind."

And he was glad that she was enjoying the music 'cause he liked her to be proud of him. Her opinion meant a lot, yeah?
When he caught West's eye, he noticed that his bandmate was preparing for the next set and cursed under his breath. He needed like two more seconds to kiss the girlfriend good luck and wink at a few other ladies in the audience. But it seemed like all of that would have to wait 'cause they were starting sooner then he'd like.
Eh, he would have to settle for less. The sixth year quickly kissed his girlfriend and whispered, "Catch you after, babe." Then he grabbed a water bottle and jumped back on stage heading to the back where his drum set was situated.
Oh, he already knew, did he? Well she was telling him anyway. Penelope didn't really get a chance to say much more though because apparently the band was ready to continue playing. Aww. That didn't feel like a very long break, but there'd be another one soon so she could grab him again. And between then and now she got to listen to them play again, so it was really a win-win situation.
So she returned the quick kiss and replied, "M'kay, see you soon." And then she watched him return to the stage before turning back to the food table real quick. Only two pieces of pizzas were put on her plate this time, and then decided to try a couple pieces of the heart-shaped sushi as well as a few heart-shaped cookies. Once she also had a cup of pink lemonade, she turned around so she could watch the band while she ate. Dancing made her hungry, y'know? But she was still swaying a little to the music even while eating.

"Oui! We were taken in by zeir colorful appearance and deliciousness!" Justine said in mock horror, her dark hand lifted to her forehead in a feigned act of woe, though her giggles gave her amusement away. When Andrew pointed out a random macaroon and dubbed it the ringleader, Justine could not hold back her laughter, and with a snort of mirth, she succumbed to her amusement, laughing so hard that she could only cling to her sides. "Nooo," She said, unable to say anything else as the peals of laughter erupted from her pretty lips. "Oui, oui 'e must be 'anged! Jail is too good for zee likes of 'im," Justine said, after her laughter had died away. Goodness but this boy was funny, Justine couldn't really remember the last time she had really laughed. Probably before her parents estrange, and resulting divorce.
As uncomfortable as Justine suddenly felt, she tried not to show it to the young, if he knew, if he saw, well, it would certainly not be a good thing, she was really warming up to him, and hoped that they would turn into good friend I think you like him a little more than that. Said that weird little voice in Justine's, to which she paid no mind because really, her little voice did not know what it was talking about. "Bordeaux? You were born zhere?" Justine asked, her mild surprise becoming stronger as the boy mentioned something about being from the English side of his family. "Wat do you mean 'zee English side?" Justine asked, frowning with curiosity. Andrew certainly had many more layers to him than Justine had thought.
Oh no, he had really believed her to be offended, Justine had to quickly fix that. "Non, non, I am joking with you," Justine said, reassuringly touching the boys arm, trying to show him that he had not hurt her feelings. She smiled brightly at the brunette. "I prefer zat you tell me when I 'ave made a mistake," Justine said.
"Goodness, I feel so unaccomplished now, I zought I was special for speaking two, are all your family members so talented?" Justine laughed, really quite dazzled by his parents abilities, she would certainly love to meet such extraordinary people one day. And now he was blushing, and that was far too adorable, really, too adorable, she thought she ought to make him blush more often, that was how adorable.
Wait, had she heard that right? Her beautiful? He thought she was beautiful? Her brain suddenly seemed to be centered on that one word, she couldn't possibly think of anything else but the fact that a very charming English boy had called her beautiful without even a small warning. She was really blushing now, Justine wouldn't have been surprised to find that her hair had turned as red as she was sure her face was. Justine remembered fairly quickly that she was supposed to be speaking. ""You're welcome, I meant it.... " She said, her voice trailing slightly as she tried to think of whether she would reply to the "beautiful," comment or not.
"I'm not really zat beautiful, but, zank you," Justine modestly said, deciding not to ignore it. Justine was proud about a lot of things, but her looks were not one of them, she didn't think herself ugly or anything like that, she just simply didn't think of them at all.
"Very good Andrew," Justine said, nodding with approval at the young boy's understanding, she had almost expected him to be able to understand her, and was quite pleased. "Eh bien, vows avez certainement réussi." Justine added, with a small smile, He certainly had impressed her, something not many people wee capable of, and especially not in such a short amount of time.

Alex was actually enjoying herself at the Ball. Who would have thought? It was always a fun time when she was hanging out with her friends. As she listened to the band playing and chatted with her friends, Bay returned to the group from parts unknown. For some reason he looked really excited.
While giving Alex a bow, Bay asked her to dance. "I thought you'd never ask", Alex said. Offering Bay her hand, Alex headed toward the dance floor. "The band is really good, don't you think?"

While giving Alex a bow, Bay asked her to dance. "I thought you'd never ask", Alex said. Offering Bay her hand, Alex headed toward the dance floor. "The band is really good, don't you think?"
Bay laughed with Alex.. he was so happy she was having fun.. he took her hand and twirled her outwards and then in… "this band is really good" he confirmed. He dipped her and brought her back up… He was really glad that he met her.. he would have to thank Sander for letting them meet.. she was really a great girl.. which kinda made him sad.. why would anyone not want to go to the dance with her.
but he smiled to keep on a brave face..he let her go and he started to dance to the music.. moving his arms and legs.. which don't get me wrong.. was really hard to do when you looked and felt like an old man. He tried his best not to look silly.. but if he did oh well.

He was laughing at Lesta dancing too. He even commented, "Lesta i think we should win a dance award of some kind."
Anna gave a weak smile and giggled slightly, starting to dance with the older girl. It felt a little strange for her still, having people wanting to interact with her and cheer her up, then again, you couldn't expect much less from a girl who'd been locked up in an orphanage for five years... She looked up at her and paused slightly, "I didn't catch your name, earlier." She still had a very small smile on her face.
Anna looked over at Kace and gave a little nod, though she still didn't really know who to feel about it completely. She returned the fist bump and brushed her hair back. She didn't really know what to say about it or to him right now... Could he really expect much else? She was just a little awkward already, and now she'd gone and just kinda mucked it up in her eyes... She did still want to talk to Kace, more than anything... But right now she felt if she even tried to utter more than a simple sentence to him she'd break down again from realizing what she'd done again.

Taking Alex's hand, Bay spun her around and ended with a dip. "My goodness Mr. Bay, you have some serious moves", Alex said as they began to dance. She was going to pay for this tomorrow when her old lady joints started to stiffen. What the heck, you only live once. Alex let her body feel the music and moved along with the beat. She loved to dance, but didn't really have the opportunity to do it at school.
Bay was turning out to be quite a fun date. It was so sweet of him to offer to be Alex's escort. She hadn't known him before their Christmas trip to Sander's house, but she was glad to add him to her circle of friends. "You know, I really appreciate your agreeing to be my escort for the evening. You really saved the day. You're my knight in shining armor. Thanks."
