The Main Stage and Seating area takes up the whole front of the Great Hall. There are round tables which seat eight or so people scattered everywhere, covered in white tablecloths, and decorated with red roses and place settings. Lit red candles float near the ceiling, casting a warm glow on the diners. To either side of the Great Hall are long trestle tables laden with all sorts of valentines food... only the table on the left features Valentines themed food like pizza with heart-shaped pepperoni, heart-shaped sushi, and pink lemonade, while the table on the right has a more anti-love theme with candy hearts that state slogans like 'cupid stay away', 'it's not me, it's you' and 'leave me alone', and cupcakes with hearts on them that would be cute if it wasn't for the little licorice dagger piercing each heart right through the centre.
Even closer to the front of the Great Hall is a large stage, right where the staff dais usually is. In front of the stage is a sizable dance floor, ready for anyone who wants to get up and show off the skills they learned with Flamsteed. As for the music, that is provided by The Dead Kneazles, a student band consisting of Vesper Bayliss, Nigel Barrington, West Odessa, and Ascanius Stark. They will be performing danceworthy tunes in 20-30 minute sets, and when they aren't up there rocking out for your listening and grooving pleasure, a sound system will play a selection of classic Muggle and Wizarding love and anti-love themed hits.
So come and eat, or dance, or just sit and chatter. Love is in the air!

ooc: Feel free to make up what kind of love or anti-love themed food or drinks your character finds on the two tables! While you may not RP for the band itself, you are more than welcome and encouraged to RP dancing to different songs (and saying what songs are playing on the sound system when the band isn't around), or just listening and watching as your character pleases!

She wanted her friend back but she hated that it had caused a thing between her and Alec. It was just so...stupidly complicated. Growing up was lame. The eighteen year old gave a quick, gentle squeeze in return before stopping as well. Just to show she wasn't bothered. It was comforting, actually.
You owe me years of dances. Ouch. She knew he hadn't meant it at the dig but it felt like a punch to the stomach all the same. The blonde smiled a bit sadly up at him when he backed off a bit and nodded. "I know. At least this is a start?" He knew that, right? That she was going to be there from now on. She expected the same from him. Friends, she wanted them to keep being friends. None of this not talking nonsense. And instead of stepping completely away like she should have, she gave the younger boy a proper hug, a big one. When she finally did step away, she swatted a curl out of her face and smiled once more.
"I should get going but this was nice, yeah?" And she glanced towards the stage as the band got ready to take a break before her eyes settled back on Theo. "Let West know how great he was for me? I'm really glad they agreed to play."
"Well if it makes you happy, then go for it!" That was usually peoples' mottos, right? Theo didn't really have a motto to live by, but maybe it was time that he got one. He'd ask West... he seemed like a motto type of guy. Grinning, Theo copied her gesture and waggled his finger right back at her. Yesssssss, ma'am.
She squeezed him back. That felt SUPER nice, and made him feel less weird about his random squishy-ness. He was still smiling when she looked up at him, but not so much in a happy way, just smiling because he had to be. "Yeah." He said. Let's change the subject now, yeah??! Before he thought of anything to say, she was hugging him, like proper. He could get used to this, you know. Theo squeezed her tightly back.
Okay, so his moves weren't good enough to convince her to stick around for another dance. No biggie, though, since he had already gotten more than he bargained for. "So nice." He added with a nodding smile. "Thanks for dancing with me." Ahh, yes... West. It looked like the band was taking a break from playing so Theo was definitely gonna go and bro!tackle his bestie. "Will do. See ya around, Miss Bishop." And because his mission was to kiss Ella tonight, he gave her a cheeky peck on her cheek, but before his face could BURN red, he had disappeared to go and find his bud.

OKAY. So, they were going to be danciiiiiing. She blushed as Lou took her hand, hoping no one would notice that. Especially Lottie. Delilah placed the other hand on his shoulder and swayed to the song, smiling up at the boy. This was funnnn. Yeah. Wait, was she still blushing?
... And soon, it was break time. Sigh. Didn't they JUST start dancing? She pulled away, although her hand was still in his and she wasn't letting go. For now. "I'm hungry. Want to grab something to eat?"
Well. That was a lovely thirty seconds worth of dancing.
Louis couldn't help but chuckle softly when the music suddenly came to an end and he was forced to release the girl, giving her back her personal space though their hands remained linked.
"Sounds good," the boy replied as Delilah asked if he wanted to get something to eat. He wasn't really very hungry since he'd spent most of the night just snacking on sweets after everyone bailed, but if Delilah wanted food he might as well keep her company. "We can eat at my table if you want, there's nobody there."
Delilah might as well eat something before the band started to play again. She kiiind of planned on staying for the entire concert.. but she still had loads of homework to finish. SIGH. Decisions. Plus, all the excitement from earlier had made her feel a little tired. Just a bit. But now that Lou was here.. Yeah, no. Homework could wait.

The whole band was, really. "I'm really proud of you." So, SO proud.

She looked up at him as he spoke then shook her head, “Kace, you didn’t do or say anything wrong…” She rubbed her arms, not cold… just trying to calm herself down, “I’m not the best at hiding my feelings, so I’m not shocked you knew or anything… but I knew you didn’t feel the same way… and I just feel like such an idiot for what I did…”
She looked down and tried to blink away a few more tears, “And it’s not that I feel bad about it… just like I said, I feel stupid… I’ve never just jumped into doing something, especially if I knew the other person wasn’t there with me…” And maybe that was a little bit of a lie, considering she’d taken her sister back home without asking her permission but that was eons away from this situation. She looked up at him and gave a weak nod to his question though, still clearly embarrassed though. Anna had always wanted that first kiss to be special… and for her it was, it just kinda sucked for her that she couldn’t say it was that magical kiss that made everything change and made her life turn around… Hey she was still young after all, that’s kind of how she always pictured it happening.
Kace nodded when she was explaining why she did it. Yeah it was true, he didn't feel the same way. He only just saw her as a friend. Plus he had a huge crush on Emmylou right now. He did really miss her and wished she was here. She even admitted she didn't feel bad about it. He smiled and responded, "I wouldn't of asked you too. I am just glad we all got our feelings into the open and now we won't feel sooooo awkward..." he shrugged and chuckled, then he looked toward the dance floor.
He noticed Awar dancing by herself and he really wanted to join her. "Hey do you wanna come and dance with my friend Awarlesta? She looks like she can use a few friends to dance with. What do you say?" he asked her. "Unless you wanna stay here and chill out that is fine too. Also on a side note, we will always be friends. No matter what happens." he said and hugged her. He walked away to let her deal with her confusion. He wanted to dance some more to be honest.

The band was a bit of break right now, but other music had replaced the temporary silence and it was still enough to get her pumped.

Positive Theo was being extremely positive. The eighteen year old just sort of watched him with an amused smile, nodding in agreement. He wasn't wrong. If you loved something and it made you happy, it was only right that you should go for it. She just hadn't seen him quite this happy in a while. It was good to see. And that finger waggling? Ella laughed softly before shaking her head. No mocking, Kinsely. Not nice.
You know what was nice, though? Hugging. Theo had come quite a long way from his cootie days and Ella was glad this wasn't weird for either of them like it would have been a while back. She was a hugger by nature so he'd have to get used to it, yeah? At least now she knew he wouldn't push her away when she tried.
"No problem. I enjoyed it." Truly. Ella would have to make Theo's dance moves the talk of the girls bathroom or something, help him with the ladies. What were friends for, right? He held out his hand and said, "Come on!" then he took her to the center of the dance floor and started to dance crazily. He was even doing the chicken dance for laughs. He was having so much fun this term. This is how he expected the half hearted ball to be.

Something wrong? No? Good! Because that was obviously the best reason to come to the Great Hall today. That, and perhaps some of the food? Though the heart-shaped anything was entirely unnecessary if you asked her. "Entirely worth it." And she got to wear heels, so... win-win situation here.

Ves lifted her right arm to show the ones scattered there "There's a charm on them, too, to make them flash from red to pink...I needed something to fit the party theme..."
Valentine's day was stoopid. Her mind wouldn't be changed.....which reminded her..."Where's Tag? at?" Lottie was seeing Tag, right? Why wasn't he here with her? "Does he think Valentine's day is lame, too?"
"It makes sense. Practice makes perfect." Everyone knew this. Magic, Quidditch, music, life. Practice made you better, no kidding. The last bit she didn't know but she supposed to be true, particularly coming from Vesper. "He's amazing with the audience, too." Just saaaying.
AND SHE WAS SO EXCITED. Vesper, that is. Therefore, Lottie was a bit too, because it was contagious!
"I think I told you that when I first heard you play, remember? Halloween?" That's when they met, wasn't it? Vesper had known who Lottie was, just not the other way around. She remembered Ascanius being in the room, too. Clearly on the lookout for talent. "Today was the first time I heard you sing, though."BEAM. At her 'group' comment the Hogwartian nodded and suppressed words about no need for four members, "You are, I haven't heard you separately, but I agree," they complemented each other.
BUT WAIT. "I demand the best seats and backstage passes when you guys get to tour all over the world, by the way. Sydney, Tokio, London, New York, wherever."Wink. That'd be brilliant. Like getting Quidditch tickets from Dylan, right?
Reaction noticed, yup, and this girl merely smirked. How cute, Vesper. The Ravenclaw had her full attention now as she listened to the explanation, "I think it's brilliant, you have to show me how it's done."Nod, nod, nod. It's a must. "Later, not now, of course." There was no hurry.

She sighed, and again, wiped a few stray tears. She straightened herself and forced herself to stand and go over to them, but when they got close Kace had pulled the girl away again. She looked at the two of them, not really sure if she should go join them or not… He had invited her to come, but it kinda seemed that he wanted her to stay away… Maybe she should just go back up to the common room for the night and forget her chance of having fun.

Awar let out a squeal as Kace pulled her away into the middle of the crowd. She let loose, shaking her arms in the air, shaking her hips everywhere, and even joined his chicken dance by flapping her "wings". See, this is by far way better with friends!
In mid twirl, she caught the sight of Kace's friend and she didn't look too happy. She slowed down, placing a hand on a boogie-ing Kace. "Hey, is your lady friend, okay?" Awar nudged him towards the other Hufflepuff and gave him the "Do something" look.

Louis returned Delilah's smile for a brief second before leading the girl over to the food tables, releasing her hand there so she could pick up whatever food she wanted. Meanwhile, he settled for like his tenth cupcake of the night, decorated with a little red heart on top and everything.
The boy then led Delilah over to the table where he and his friends had met up at the beginning of the event, which was obviously empty by now. He pulled a chair for her before proceeding to sit down, beside her.
Despite his efforts to distract himself with the cupcake that had started to taste like newspaper after having had entirely too many throughout the night, Lou couldn't help looking over at his friend every once in a while. She was so effortlessly pretty and it was a little distracting. He'd always known she was far better-looking than the average girl, but it seemed more noticeable now.
It probably had something to do with the alley.

"Um..." Louis seemed a bit surprised with himself, as if he didn't realize that his mouth had decided to speak out on its own, "After this, would you like to..." Err. What was he doing. "Go somewhere?"
He was already regretting the invitation. HE WASN'T SUPPOSED TO. Hello?! What happened to that wise little voice in his head?! But. But. But.
"Uh-- we don't have to if you don't want to," he quickly added as if trying to redeem himself.
Nope. Nah. Still ashamed.
Brynn tilted her head and looked at Fern curiously upon hearing her squeal and her eyes soon fell on the other girl's sparkly shoes. "You're wearing high heels?" The first year looked on in awe for a moment before she glanced down at her own very plain shoes and frowned. She was dressing more for comfort these days. Eventually she shrugged and grinned back at Fern. "Those are so pretty and grown-up." If Brynn wasn't so tired, she might even be a little jealous at how stylish her friend was.
But that wasn't necessary as Fern soon offered her assistance for the next one. Maybe Brynn would even be interested enough by then to try harder. But that still remained to be seen. She looked down at herself as the Hufflepuff gave her some very appraising eyes. In her defense, she didn't even know there was a ball, though she wasn't sure it would have made much difference with her whole dressing for comfort trend as of late. But she turned back to Fern with an appreciative smile anyway. "Oh, okay... that sounds like fun."Because she knew somewhere in the back of her head that it did - she once enjoyed fashion and anticipating wearing makeup.
Brynn gave a sidelong glance to Fern and sorta shrugged as the girl got all offended at the implication. "I know, I know," the 11 year old said quickly. She knew normally Fern was up on all the latest haps, but then she should also know all about the "Puffanova" too and would not be trying to align her with that mess. She turned a little more fully as Fern's eyes locked onto the pair of Hufflepuffs, then gave her a pointed MMMhmm knowing look. "I'm over it," she shrugged as Fern expressed her outrage. Not that she was ever under it, but whatever. She could look cool.
Brown eyes glanced up to the stage as the band began to play then back to Fern as she leaned in closer. She wasn't sure if it was because it was getting LOUD in here and she needed to be heard or if she had some juicy secret... which Brynn was kind of hoping it was the latter. And it sort of was. Brynn's eyes slowly widened as she listened to her friend identify her date for this evening and her mouth DROPPED.

Dante Dark was coming. Dante Dark was coming and he was Fern's date!"I.. he.. you.." Brynn cupped her hands over her nose and mouth and began taking very deep breaths as her mind tried to process this news. One of the Hexy Boyz was going to be sitting at the same table as her. And.. and.. maybe he could put a good word in for her with.. She took her hands from her face and gripped the bottom of her tshirt as she began twisting it nervously between her fingers. "But you should have told me.. and then.. well, he could have brought.." She bit her lip and glanced down at her clothes. It wasn't her fault she had bunions now and had to wear supportive shoes, OKAY?! And her beautiful red hair.. was just gone.. Dante would never go back to his bandmate, and obvious best friend, DC and tell him all about the cute redhead with the dazzling personality now. Wibble.
“YES! TWO INCHES! They’re the tallest ones I’ve EVER owned!!!” Fern reached down and measured the heal with her index finger and thumb, then held them up for Brynny to see. “Two inches! I’ve been practicing walking in them around the second year room all month!”
She followed Brynn’s line of sight, and Fern couldn’t help it. She wrinkled her nose. [b] “Here, don’t worry Brynny, just-,” Fern grabbed the hem of the tablecloth and, leaning over the chair she had reserved for her date, draped it over Brynny’s legs. “See, now all people can see is your...shirt.”
“It will be fun! And then you’ll be pretty and grown-up too!” Fern gave Brynny a broad grin, and she added, “Next year is going to be so great. I’m going to be a teenager, and you will have a makeover, and we’ll be the two most popular girls at this school. Plus my cousin Tallulah. So the three most popular.” The Hufflepuff sighed. She could picture it now, and it was be.a.utiful.
Brynny might be over it, but Fern was definitely not. Any guy who wronged her BFF was unforgiveable. Kace would get what was his, and in the meantime, they would find Brynny a great boyfriend…and Fern would do a thorough background check on him first.
“Eeeeeh! I know I know I know!” Fern’s heals click-clacked against the stone floor as she tapped them in excitement, practically bouncing out of her seat. She could hardly believe it either. Actually she totally could! And this night was going to CHANGE EVERYTHING! Fern had no doubt she would be experiencing her first kiss before the night was out.
But then Brynny wasn’t looking so excited. Oh. She had realized. With that shirt, and even with the table skirt covering her pants, there was no way she could be sitting at the table when Dante appeared. It just wasn’t going to work. She was right. Fern should have told her. They could have worked something out, picked out a different outfit, dyed Brynny’s hair. But Fern had thought her friend was going to be busy having fun with Kace.

Why did she even bother coming? She didn't have a boyfriend... or even a crush, especially not this term with everyone getting all old and all that.
Somehow, though, Lily still ended up at the prefect event. They were always interesting in the past, so she figured this term would be no different. The only problem was that she had no idea what to do now that she was at the event. She was definitely not going in the tunnel of love and certainly not planning on going to any other stations that involved love. She'd be content just sitting here listening to the music... or eating food, while watching other people be in love.
Or at least she'd sit here for now in her muggle clothes and running shoes...

And then Adi was pulling back from the kiss. His face was light red and he knew it. "Um...mine too,'' he said lamely. Uh, jeez. He really hoped Sophie wasn't going to be mad at him. "Sorry. I don't know what came over me.'' Adi forced himself to regain his calm composure and at that moment West began to speak about the band getting started. Saved by music! They were going to do a Fleetwood Mac song! And it was one the second year was familiar with! Awesomeee.
Forgetting all about the unexpected kiss, he glanced at Sophie excitedly. Was she up for dancing? If she was, the Photo Booth would have to wait.
So this date was nothing like what Sophie expected her first date to be like. She actually expected herself to be a jittery mess. She thought she'd be nervous and awkward and say sentences that made absolutely no sense whatsoever. But she wasn't doing any of those things. She was actually at ease, which was probably due to the fact that she and Adi had been friends since first year.
"Oh, cool...pictures," she said. "My family doesn't take much pictures, so this'll be a cool experience. I mean, we take pictures, it's just...we have wizarding pictures around the house." The Greingoths just weren't for the Muggle way of doing things. They had nothing against Muggles, but they were just more comfortable with magic.
Sophie laughed at Adi's reaction to her own reaction about the gifts. "Well, I've never been anybody's Valentine before, and I thought I'd be nervous, but I'm not," she replied. "And I'd never have told you no in front of everybody." She'd have only done that if it was somebody she didn't like or somebody she needed to get even with. "Okay, so...the photo booth? You lead the way."
She turned in the direction of the photo booth and waited for Adi to lead the way.
"Sounds good to me," Sophie chimed, rising to her feet to give a big stretch of both arms upward, then she tugged down her jacket and stretched out her hips a bit. Rusty. Oh, Tobes had a friend - Soph smiled as the Hufflepuff came over and Tobes introduced her. "S'nice to meet you, Marigold. Cool name." She was getting deja vu, as if she'd already had this conversation once before with this girl she'd definitely seen around in classes - but her mind was foggy, and she wasn't sure if they'd ever properly met. Didn't matter, really, though.
A boy joined the Marigold girl, then, and they seemed to be dates for the night, so Sophie turned her attention back to her own sort-of-but-not-really-but-kind-of valentine, just as the band was wrapping up their first set. She gave them a long glance up on stage, clapped a bit, then smiled at Tobes and shrugged, "Yeah, s'long as you don't mind dancing to the tunes over that stereo system. Looks like the band's taking a break." She was still on her feet, though, and held out a hand expectantly to the third year. They were still gonna dance, right? "You've got moves to show me." Griiiin.
Toby stood up too, noticing that weird creaking sensation in his knees as he did so, and he eyed them suspiciously. No. Stop that.
Luckily enough, there was no further complaint from his joints for the time being, which definitely kept his spirits high and a smile on his face.
"Totally fine by me, Soph," the Hufflepuff said, taking the hand that Sophie had offered and starting out (slowly) onto the dancefloor. Toby was still smiling; it really was a fabulous mood he was in. The ball and everything was super amazing, and he was here with his bestie, so of course he was gonna enjoy the entire thing. "Merlin, I suppose I have an entertaining shuffle or two in my repertoire to impress you with."
He hadn't been awful in those dance lessons after all (hadn't trod on that Slytherin girl's feet even once), and was feeling pretty mobile today, but Tobias knew better than anyone that he was much more graceful in the air than he was on his feet. Still, there was hope, and Tobias was pretty sure that Sophie toes would be safe.

Maybe she could sing something just for them later...Lifting her gaze to West's, surely they could work something out. There would be the requests portion...if time permitted.
Ascanius was going NUTS back there, wasn't he? Vesper turned her back towards the crowd, giving Ascanius some appreciation as he went through the drum fills and skimmed his cymbals. The Slytherin's face was intense, too...and Ves had to force herself to keep singing and jiggling her hand. She wanted to full out fangirl her bandmates, okay? And not just Ascanius and his noise...but Nigel, too...because he was so cool in his white suit, strumming at his bass strings, looking rather calm...and West...Well, what wasn't there to appreciate about West?

From Queen, to Aerosmith, Vesper was forced to push her voice...as Freddie Mercury and Steven Tyler were both in those upper registers. West had been right there with her, of course...the two of them playing off each other's vocals; complimenting and supporting where needed. Ves decided, as a whole, it was much better having someone to sing with (on top of the playing). When she'd finally taken her place behind the piano with Queen, adjusting her mitt and running through those first keys with ease, it been instant relief. In reality, the Ravenclaw was a piano player first; a singer second.
Besides, being behind the piano...she got to watch both West and Nigel rock out...without feeling like a creeper for doing so. Ugh, her bandmates. There was something magnetic about each of them; something that commanded your attention and didn't allow you to look away...How lucky had it been, getting this caliber of talent together within the school? Though, the slight awkwardness for her there was that...all this music made her feel all the things...and that was a dangerous zone to live in. Emotionally, Vesper gave so much of herself to the music...Unfortunately, music had no master.
Unknowingly, she sent another heated look to Alice.
When West announced the next number, she took a calming breath. Despite the personal repercussions, Vesper began to play; looking up at West steadily. The best duets required eye contact and proof that you were feeling the music. So, she was going to give it to him....For the sake of the audience.....you know.
"Picture perfect memories...scattered all around the floor." The vocal was low, in her throat; not as complex in melody as the previous songs. It meant she could really focus on the emotion of it. "Reaching for the phone 'cause I can't fight it anymore." Was her face doing a thing? Was it giving her away? West's voice joined hers a moment later, backing and supporting in matching tones. "...And I wonder if I ever cross your mind..." Her vulnerability mixed in with that slight falsetto there..."For me it happens all the time..." There was a fade off and pause.
"It's a quarter after one...I'm all alone and I need you now..." Fingers continued to fly over keys as she sang, offering up all the song feels. "Said I wouldn't call but I've lost all control....and I need you noooow." Still giving the feels. ".....And I don't know how I can dooo without...I just need you nooooooooow...."

Vesper hoped everyone was enjoying this. New song soon, right? *MENTAL FLAILING*

As they got a good way into their first set of music, Ascanius did catch a glance at his girlfriend in between all of the head banging that was not NECESSARY with drumming but did add a level of finesse that he felt they needed. It was about mid-way between a riff on his cymbals when he shot her a smile.
The kind of smile that playing live was giving him. Bright and full of excitement.
Keeping up with the Queen song was a little rough on Ascanius' end, what with the random riffs that seemed to come out of no where with that style, so when they fell into the easy rhythm of Aerosmith the sixth year let out a breath he didn't even know he had been holding. Being in the back did have its advantages he was finding, yeah? 'Cause no one was really looking at him lose his mind in the music and throwing himself all over his drums to hit each beat with an almost animalistic intensity.
Note to self: before the next set...water. Lots of that.
As soon as Aerosmith was over, Ascanius took a moment to rest his elbows on his set and take a few soothing breaths. He was exhausted. Music was a lot about leaving what was inside into his hands and letting it make something beautiful. That would exhaust any kind of man.
So...even though he wasn't a fan of Vesper's girly mostly acoustic sounding song choices...he was thankful when Need You Now started. He was silently a fan of the way that West and Vesper's voices sounded together. And the music behind them was mellow enough with this song that the audience could really hear 'em.
But, y'know, he had to wait a bit until he came in with this song. Keys, guitar and bass then him.
When his part came up, Ascanius actually just leaned back and kept a steady, unchanging beat on the bass drum and one of his tom-toms. Nothing really major, but definitely driving enough to keep West and Vesper's vocals going strong.
He kept Nigel in the corner of his eye so that they could set the tempo together and started to jive a little with this song. Eyes closed. The whole bit.
When the song started to pick up a little, he drove it home with a little more force, but nothing too loud. Noise. Wasn't that what Vesper called it, yeah? See? He could do more then the noise thing. And then he calmed his cymbals as Vesper's piano played out the last piece of the song.
Then...he waited. The customary amount of time for the audience to settle and enjoy the ringing of the last note throughout the great hall. Y'know, applause right here was welcomed and even kind of expected 'cause their first set had been KILLER.
While West announced that they would be taking a brief break before their next set, Ascanius hopped up from behind his drum set and beelined straight for Nigel clapping him hard on the back with the world's STUPIDEST smile on his face. "We slayed it, man." Did he feel that? 'Cause Ascanius did.
And he even smiled at Vesper from beside Nigel, "Way to shred the keys, Ves-" That was weird, "-per." Better. Much better.
Now where was West? This was bro hug worthy. Did they FEEL that energy?

It felt good connecting through music, not just to band mates, but to the audience yeah? And singing with Ves, West had a small smile on his face the entire time. Even better than their rehearsals.
After he announced the break, West put his guitar down and scooped up a bro!hug each from Scan and Nigel, then turned to grab one from Ves but she'd already escaped. Uh.. well. Okay. No celebratory hugs from Ves then? He shrugged it off and jumped off the stage to head over to food.
Well, and people, but mostly food. He grabbed a water bottle and loaded up a plate and his mouth then turned to head back...

He sorta gestured to his food and water bottle and then up at the stage again. "Only got a few minutes. But uh... stick around yeah?"
And he was gone. That quick. Because he didn't have that long to eat his food and refresh himself.

Oh yeah.
All too soon though, the song ended. Beverly clapped as if though she'd been a fan of the band for ages. More, more, more MOOOORE!

If you think for a second that Lotus Acacia Wisteria, of all people, missed this little reaction to Delilah's words and overall presence then you, my friend, are clearly mistaken. She was excellent at noticing these things, she just kept it all to herself. Same as Lex pretended to be oblivious to certain things.
Why, of course, she wouldn't comment on it, because that would make things... rather embarrassing, perhaps? It was none of her business. But allllll that staaaaaaring, Jere... the Hogwartian poked swatted at his shoulder gently, "Where are you from, again?" Durmstrang?
And...can we say that West clearly knows how to address an audience? CAN WE? Because he DOES IT SO WELL, man, SO WELL! And Lottie was just beaming at Vesper and watching Ascanius from time to time, and they were surprisingly AWESOME! All the HOURS of practices clearly paid off. Nigel got ignored, as far as Lottie could tell... there were only three members, not four.
We're not gonna lie, it was the awkwardest thing ever to be standing next to Jeremiah when the slow song was up, but since she was focusing on the band, then it stopped being awkward after a few seconds. It probably helped that she had stopped holding his arm. THAT helped a lot, because super!awkward stuff otherwise.
BUT IT WAS TIME FOR A BREAK NOW. And Lottie was oh-so-incredibly proud for those three. SUPER PROUD. Particularly Vesper, she did AMAZING. She'll wait for her here, yup.
And he could SEE Lottie fangirling there. So weird. But also awesome and appreciated. He gave her a wave but needed to take advantage of the break with food and other things so didn't go over to chat.
Eh and he wasn't gonna have time to get Theo hugs either was he? Those could come later.

He popped outside for a bit, finished his food and took care of other things, then came back in feeling better. He kept hold of his water bottle though as he headed back to the stage, climbed up, and got situated.
A few swigs of his water and West picked his guitar up again, ready to get back into it. The others got big smiles from him as they came back to the stage too. Second set time!
"This next song is by a band called The Kinks... You Really Got Me." As was his habit, he licked the pad of his thumb before he started playing the opening notes. His eyes landed on Olly. Oh she was HERE? Awesome. Grin. He started singing, eyes still on the Hufflepuff.
"Girl... you really got me going... you got me so I don't know what I'm doing... yeah you really got me now... you got me so I can't sleep at night... Yeah you really got me now... you got me so I don't know what I'm doin' now... Oh yeah you really got me now... you got me so I can't sleep at night..." He looked over at Ves as she joined in on the You Really Got Me's, and then he pushed his hair out of his face in the brief pause before the next verse, and this time he sought out Alice. There she was. Brows to you girlfriend.
"See... don't ever set me free... I always wanna be by your side... Girl... you really got me now... you got me so I can't sleep at night..."
Soon enough it was time to rest his voice and let his guitar sing. That was always his favourite part. He grinned back at Nigel and went hard, completely lost in the moment and yet still being a total showboat and putting it all out there in the audience, as if he was singing specifically to every single girl out there.
But don't worry, Alice, it was just the music.

Just as she'd turned toward the food table, Penelope felt a familiar pair of arms wrap around her out of nowhere. Grinning when she felt his chin on her shoulder, she turned her head so she could see him a little better. "Thanks. Glad you noticed." She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before continuing, beaming at him. "You're really awesome up there, y'know." He surely knew that, but she was gonna tell him anyway because he was. The whole band was, really. "I'm really proud of you." So, SO proud.
"I know," he played off casually with his trademark smirk. To be honest, he didn't know that they were doing great; sure, he felt it, all that energy and the feeling of being in sync with his bandmates, but he didn't know how it translated out here. And he was glad that she was enjoying the music 'cause he liked her to be proud of him. Her opinion meant a lot, yeah?
When he caught West's eye, he noticed that his bandmate was preparing for the next set and cursed under his breath. He needed like two more seconds to kiss the girlfriend good luck and wink at a few other ladies in the audience. But it seemed like all of that would have to wait 'cause they were starting sooner then he'd like.
Eh, he would have to settle for less. The sixth year quickly kissed his girlfriend and whispered, "Catch you after, babe." Then he grabbed a water bottle and jumped back on stage heading to the back where his drum set was situated.

Well, and people, but mostly food. He grabbed a water bottle and loaded up a plate and his mouth then turned to head back...
He popped outside for a bit, finished his food and took care of other things, then came back in feeling better. He kept hold of his water bottle though as he headed back to the stage, climbed up, and got situated.
A few swigs of his water and West picked his guitar up again, ready to get back into it. The others got big smiles from him as they came back to the stage too. Second set time!
"This next song is by a band called The Kinks... You Really Got Me." As was his habit, he licked the pad of his thumb before he started playing the opening notes. His eyes landed on Olly. Oh she was HERE? Awesome. Grin. He started singing, eyes still on the Hufflepuff.
"Girl... you really got me going... you got me so I don't know what I'm doing... yeah you really got me now... you got me so I can't sleep at night... Yeah you really got me now... you got me so I don't know what I'm doin' now... Oh yeah you really got me now... you got me so I can't sleep at night..." He looked over at Ves as she joined in on the You Really Got Me's, and then he pushed his hair out of his face in the brief pause before the next verse, and this time he sought out Alice. There she was. Brows to you girlfriend.
"See... don't ever set me free... I always wanna be by your side... Girl... you really got me now... you got me so I can't sleep at night..."
Soon enough it was time to rest his voice and let his guitar sing. That was always his favourite part. He grinned back at Nigel and went hard, completely lost in the moment and yet still being a total showboat and putting it all out there in the audience, as if he was singing specifically to every single girl out there.
But don't worry, Alice, it was just the music.
He gulped back some of his water and took the towel that, before the show, he had set right next to his seat to wipe at his face. He had musician sweat, which was the best kind because it meant that he was into it. Like real into it, yeah? Pfft. None of that half-done crap here. This was a Dead Kneazles show. (The first one, but who cared...start strong, he always said.)
Twirling his drumsticks inbetween his fingers, Ascanius tested out the bass pedal while West set up their next set. Right, the kinks. Less throwing his limbs around to really get the drum hits out. This was a smaller box of playing and a good transition song to start their set.
Keeping it light and almost groovy, yeah he'd go as far as to say that, Ascanius underscored the rest of the band's music. And the vocals. Which were important, y'know?
Though, he didn't miss West basically giving eyes to every single girl in the audience. Kudos. He was the guy singing...every girl was looking at him anyway........Ascanius admired the female attention tactic. Impressive.
He glanced quickly at Nigel and silently almost asked him if he wanted to pick up the tempo on this song... 'cause it was dragging a little for his taste. 'Sides he felt it could use a little more, what did Vesper always say, noise. Yeah, more noise for sure.
So he did a lick on his cymbal and played out the song strong.
Toby stood up too, noticing that weird creaking sensation in his knees as he did so, and he eyed them suspiciously. No. Stop that.
Luckily enough, there was no further complaint from his joints for the time being, which definitely kept his spirits high and a smile on his face.
"Totally fine by me, Soph," the Hufflepuff said, taking the hand that Sophie had offered and starting out (slowly) onto the dancefloor. Toby was still smiling; it really was a fabulous mood he was in. The ball and everything was super amazing, and he was here with his bestie, so of course he was gonna enjoy the entire thing. "Merlin, I suppose I have an entertaining shuffle or two in my repertoire to impress you with."
He hadn't been awful in those dance lessons after all (hadn't trod on that Slytherin girl's feet even once), and was feeling pretty mobile today, but Tobias knew better than anyone that he was much more graceful in the air than he was on his feet. Still, there was hope, and Tobias was pretty sure that Sophie toes would be safe.
Luckily Sophie didn't notice Toby's creaking or that there was anything really remotely wrong with him, or else she would've probably made a big deal about it and tried to coddle him like a hurt puppy. She was just standing there smiling at the Hufflepuff completely oblivious, though, and shuffled out onto the dance floor with him, hand-in-hand. She started to add a little bit of an excited bounce to her step, but her knees and ankles didn't like that so much, so she knocked that off.
Then, casually, she brought a hand up to feel her hair. Felt smooth and soft still, which meant the potion hadn't worn off and her hair was still nice and brown and in its normal state. Good. 'Least she still looked okay.
"Do you?" An enthused grin spread across her face and she released his hand, turned to face him, and took a step back to give him room. "Let's see, then -" she began, just as the stereo system's music was switched off and the band had taken to the stage again. West introduced the next song, and she had no idea what it was, but as it started, she bounced a little in place to the beat. It was a groovy groove. "Aww this is good, you'll have the band to cheer you on. Show me your moves, Tobes. Impress me," the second year half-teased, half-encouraged, then did a little twist and shimmy of her own, just as she had promised to potentially look silly with him. She didn't care, though - her whole face had lit up with the utmost glee. DANCIN' WITH THE TOBEMEISTER.
Anna looked at her and sighed, dabbing her tears away. She knew it was stupid but part of her had really hope that maybe he’d change his mind… She sighed and shook her head mentally still trying to calm herself down, reminding herself she shouldn’t have gotten her hopes up. She looked up at him and gave a nod, “Yeah, we don’t.” Well… at least he didn’t… She still felt horrible for kissing him, and now knowing that she’d made a fool of herself, it was always going to be weird for her.
She looked up again as he asked if she wanted to dance again, but before she got a chance to reply he’d gone off… Anna looked down and sighed after hugging him back and took a few moments to still try to calm down. She sighed, and again, wiped a few stray tears. She straightened herself and forced herself to stand and go over to them, but when they got close Kace had pulled the girl away again. She looked at the two of them, not really sure if she should go join them or not… He had invited her to come, but it kinda seemed that he wanted her to stay away… Maybe she should just go back up to the common room for the night and forget her chance of having fun.

She looked over at them, then timidly walked over. She really was thinking the common room would be smart at this point... just go and chill out stay hidden for at least a month from everyone. Her main thing was right now it just kinda seemed like she wasn't wanted around anymore and she couldn't blame him for that.
She sighed slightly as she looked between the two of them, already feeling like she was the one outside... This was her fault after all... She was the one who was stupid, and she was the one who'd probably ruin the night if she stayed... Anna started to take a step away but stopped herself, She would try to get back to normal before she ran off...

Those lyrics paired with his line of sight didn't do very nice things for her head, especially with glances to Vesper following right after. The seventh year watched him until he shifted his gaze off of her, then went back to her Dora cheering up.
Bests were more important than boyfriends who liked to serenade the whole female population of the school, right? Right.

A twitch of a smile had appeared, no doubt having gone unnoticed, but the singing...the singing close to her ear...was all but missed. A breath of a faint giggle escaped her as she smiled warmly, leaning her head softly upon his shoulder. Even with the elder age, he still sang wonderfully.
Reluctantly though, with the upcoming upbeat song, she lifted her head and glanced to the stage. Oh? Really...upbeat. Her finger started to tap a little to the music upon Airey's arm before she looked to him. "Do you vont to get something to drink...or something?"

It was too late, Dora didn't want to dance. At least, not with Alice, but maybe Theo because he looked to be done with dancing and had always been up for a dance with her in the past, shouldn't be any different now, right? She didn't think so.

"Please? Dance with me. You're being the killjoy now." She gave Dora another nudge and stroked her hair for a little while before pushing the other girl into a more upright position. "I'll give you two dances, even."
