Ian pondered this for a moment. Certainly there was a way, but she might not be interested in looking through the table of content of all the books. There must be 50 books of potions here. Not all of them would have markedly different potions of course, but if you were in search of one it could be a long time to find it. He shrugged as he looked up at her. Well, I'm sorry I'm not of more help. Willing to do what I can to help though.

Dylan smirked when she told him to stop laughing at her. Holding back the laughter that was about to burst from his lips, he put his hands up in 'surrender'. "Okay, okay! I'll stop." he whispered with a grin. He then leaned against one of the bookshelves as she told him about how she had been reading a lot of sci-fi. Oooh! Dylan liked sci-fi. "Sci-fi is great! Do you know of any good ones in particular?" he asked her.

Cosette did not like the way this little one was looking at her. It was weird -- no, it was creepy. She took a step away from the girl just in case she decided to get weirder or something. There was no doubt people at Hogwarts were on some type of stranger level than people in her home town. For instance, that other Hufflepuff boy... what was his name? The one she had met on the train ride? Myles Fitzgerald? Yeah, him. He was cute and charming, but there was also a weird aspect to him as well.

"Interesting." She placed the book back onto the bookshelf now and picked up another one that she was curious about.

.... huh? Quidditch.... was a sport? "Like gymnastics?" She quietly asked. "Or tennis?" She was obviously a muggleborn; she did not know at all what this so-called 'Quidditch' sporty thing was. It also sounded.... dangerous, whatever it was.

Noticing the girl step away from her, Lux felt insulted and wondered what she had done wrong to repel the French girl. It was not her fault that she had a hard time understanding French accents. She was Canadian, not French!

Nodding, she watched as the girl put one book down before picking another one up. Why this girl would want to read a romance novel was beyond her, but she was way too polite to ask even if this girl was mean and backed away from friendly girls trying to make conversation.

Errrrr.... "It's played on brooms and stuff." She honesty had a feeling that any real explanation would seriously cause too much confusion.

Leo wondered if he should have known when the girl introduced herself as Tessa with a passion for Quidditch and specifically the chaser position rather than plants. "Pleasure to meet you dear, I'm Leobald Kitridge the school’s resident librarian at your service." He almost bowed but thought better of it. "You should try out for your house quidditch team before the season starts up." He suggested.

Travelling down to a shelf that was completely empty with a large frown he just stared at it. When Tessa’s voice registered in his ears again Leo looked over at her. "Yes, Hogwarts is very old. Have you read 'Hogwarts a history'? It’s a good read if you want to know more about the school's history from the time of its founding up till now." He couldn’t help to not recommend books. It was after all part of his job description.

Before his attention travelled back to the empty shelf he let out a sigh of relief. "You don’t know how glad I am to hear you say that. It shows common sense. The books in the Restricted Section are mostly dangerous, dark and evil and should not be read by just anyone."

Christmas smiled at Ian and said "You have been helpful i am sure the title of the book will jump out at me when i look at the title's"

Ian nodded thoughtfully. He decided to look through the books as well. He was curious what he could do that would help him in his potions class. He didn't want to seem as if he'd failed to do any additional work over the summer preparing for this year. He did feel some level of hindrance at being muggleborn and he hadn't heard or met anyone near his home who could help him. Maybe he could speak to one of the professor's about that.

He turned to Christmas. "Where are you from?"

Christmas smiled at Ian and said "I am from Wiltshire but if you ask what the name of the village i live in I can't remember for the life of me"

Ian looked a bit confused. Have you not been home recently enough to remember the name of your village? Ian wondered how one could forget the name of the village they lived in. His village was very much a part of who he was.

Christmas looked at Ian and said "Well i was busy during the summer trying to sort out my future so i wasnt home much cause when i was not at home i was staying in the leaky cauldron"

Ian's face registered a bit of mild surprise. That's very interesting. Did you get anything sorted

Christmas smiled at Ian and said "No not yet Ian i hope to have something sorted soon though"

Ian nodded and began scanning the titles of the books before him again. He didn't want to be too annoying to his new friend by quizzing her like an inquisitor on their first meeting. He found one about energy potions and pulled it down and began to leaf through the pages.

Christmas smiled as Ian began to look at the books and she scanned the shelf and saw the book she was looking for and pulled it down and started to look through it

Well, this certainly felt like the most social Altair had been in his entire life. Two girls at the same time, what would people think? Surprisingly he was grateful for the company. He would rather be around those that were his age than feel awkward with older kids with all their magical knowledge. Plus some of them were real show offs. Altair felt a little better after talking with Brynn. She had a way of explaining things that didn't make him feel so oblivious to this magical world. "It's great seeing you again," he smiled as he walked with her back over to his seat next to Haruka.

Haruka hadn't explored much like Altair. "I haven't really explored much on my own, just the hallways that take me class to class," he followed Haruka's answer. "But, the library seems pretty awesome! I think there's more books here than at Flourish and Blotts," he said as he looked around his surroundings. It really was something you only imagined in movies. Actually, the entire school felt that way.

It certainly sounded like Brynn had traveled around the most. He had experience the moving staircases himself, "So far they scare me a little and I try to get up or down them as quickly as possible." And Altair picked up on that fast. "As for exploring the grounds, I haven't really checked them out, other than going to the greenhouses and the Quidditch pitch. Maybe we should go on an adventure and really explore Hogwarts?" Usually he would never suggest such a thing, but a shot of adrenaline seemed to shoot through him in that moment. He couldn't be so sheltered forever. Plus, it would help him familiarize with the school a bit more.

Ian looked down at the book he was reading and was surprised to see that in the early chapters, the potions seemed fairly easy. He wondered if the potions master would allow him to give some of them a try.

He looked back to Christmas leafing through a book she had pulled off the shelf. Is that the one you were looking for?

Christmas smiled at Ian and said "Yes this was the book i was looking for, one of the best books for potions"

Ian looked down at the book. What might that book be helpful for? He was interested. He'd certainly like to be better at potions. He'd also like to know more about Christmas.

Christmas smiled and said "Well i like to brew potions at home so i always like to take notes on potions and try them at home cause potions is great to do at home but it is difficult for a younger student cause they aren't allowed to use magic outside of school"

Ian nodded. It was silly students couldn't use magic at home. He understood that it was for the protection of the magical world because some students didn't have the self control necessary to keep the world secret. It was however, a hindrance to students like himself who didn't live around other magic users.

Do you come from an area with lots of other magic users?

Christmas smiled and said "I don't actually i live close to a muggle village and basically my dad has to put barrriers around our mansion to stop muggles coming near us, so its difficult for me to practice qudditch but one i leave i will probably move to a magical village so i can practice all the time"

Ian listened. It sounded like she at least lived with other magic users. Does that mean you're not the only magic user in your family? He had other questions of course, but he figured he'd let those happen a little at a time. Certainly, it was easy to overwhelm a person with questions.

Christmas smiled at Ian and said "My dad works within the ministry here and so me and him aren't the only magic users i lost my mum a few years ago she was really ill"

As Ian listened, his appreciative nod turned to a sad expression as she said her mum had passed away. I'm sorry to hear that. He turned back to his book for a moment as he thought about what she'd said. It must have been horrible to lose one's mum. He hoped he didn't have to find out anytime soon. Did she pass while you were in school here?

Christmas nodded and said "Yeah she did pass away while i was at school but i mean i miss her but she is in a better place"
