Humpbacked Witch Statue
|
Ju and Soph :3 Patrolling...could be boring sometimes. Ella figured all the rebellious Hogwartians were still plotting ways to cause trouble and so she really didn't have much to do other than direct first years in the right direction when she stumbled upon them in the corridors. Somehow she thought she'd be seeing more action as head girl. ...What was she even thinking? There was no way she should be complaining about this. No way at all. Shaking her head, the eighteen year old found herself stopped in front of the Humpbacked Witch Statue and she smiled to herself. Hadn't she caught Theo climbing this thing a long time ago? Yeah, she totally had and he'd nearly killed them both jumping down. Heh. |

Sophie would usually do her random walks on the grounds, but not that day. She actually found herself conveniently on the third floor. The Charms classroom floor. Oh, look at that! Hehehehe! Her brain had got her again. The badger was pleased for two reasons. Not only had her brain subconsciously taken her to her favourite floor ever, but it also had made her find her all time bestie. Smiling, Sophie walked up to the statue of the odd-looking witch and stood next to Ella. "Hello there, Head Girl!" She greeted as she stood next to the blonde and looked up at the witch to pretend to be lost in thought like Ella seemed to be. "I can see you're having a busy day!" The brunette grinned, twirling her wand between her fingers. |
Quote:
The blonde did turn to look at the brunette upon hearing her next comment, though. "Making the castle safer, one corridor at a time," She said with a solemn expression, nudging her best in the side. Didn't Sophie know that Ella was a superheroine? "So you never told me what went down with you and Morbid on the platform, y'know." Cause Ella was spying and she had no shame and she knew Soph had seen her. No need to beat around the bush about any of that. "I was a little disappointed you didn't hex him but I s'pose you didn't want to mess up his hair." GRIN! |
Quote:
Of course the best friend would ask about the conversation with Mordred, wouldn't she? Sophie shrugged and smiled sheepishly. "You know I'd never hex him." Not only because of the hair, obviously. "Besides, he actually had a really sad reason to have... disappeared like that." The brutette said in a more serious tone as she reached out and absentmindedly ran her finger along the edge of the statue in front of them. "His mother passed away... and he had to go back to Durmstrang to finish school there." She sighed and turned to Ella. "I know he could've at least owled me or something, but... well, I just couldn't be upset with him, especially after he told me that." |
Quote:
"I know you wouldn't. I would...if you wanted me to, y'know." Best friend duties and all. Though she was sure her best friend would never take her up on the offer. The blonde then listened quietly as Soph went on to explain what was actually up with her MIA boyfriend and Ella's face fell. His mother had died. Died. Dead. Never coming back. "I don't...that's..." No words for that, actually. All anger towards the boy for leaving Sophie had been sucked from her and replaced was this heavy feeling in her stomach. "How is he?" Because honestly, Mordred might drive her up a wall most of the time but they were still friends. He was more like a brother, in fact, and knowing he was going through that alone was really something Ella didn't know how to handle. Heck, she would have hugged the boy too. |
Talkative Sophie got talkative =P Quote:
Nooo, no hexing Mordred, nope. Sophie shook her head with an amused half-smile on her face. Ella was quite funny, but Sophie knew she actually meant what she was saying. It was... understandable, she guessed. Not that it made Sophie want him to be hexed. Nope. Never. Best friend also didn't have words. Yeah, Sophie knew that feeling. It was all quite terrible. She shrugged her shoulders at Ella's question. "He's still sad, even though it was two years ago. And that wasn't all, because his aunt also died..." She continued, frowning slightly at the awful facts. It all sounded unfair, really. "Ethan's mum, actually. And apparently they found out that his father was not really his father...?" Sophie was still a bit confused and tried to remember as much as she could. "Mordred didn't have much time to help me uderstand this fully, though, and I dont know many details. But the thing is, now he's trying to be Ethan's legal guardian!" Her both eyebrows raised and her tone gave away Sophie's opinion about all this. It was mental!! "I think... well, I hope his dad is helping him. I mean, Mordred's only 19 years old! That's too much, isn't it?" Merlin, it was!! "I know his dad's probably devastated still, but Mordred's in Russia now, in university. Which is good, in my opinion. He's finally studying dragons, which he enjoys." And that made him happy. Which made Sophie happy. "I hope this will make everything go back to normal as soon as possible..." |
We love her :3 SPOILER!!: Soph! Sophie was good at pep talks, always had been. The trouble was Ella, really. She'd gotten an A+ in doubting herself and it was just hard to believe that people thought she, Ella Bishop, was anything more than ordinary. She did appreciate what her best friend was saying, though. And she offered her friend a small smile and a hip bump. "Thanks, Soph. You're right per usual. I guess it's just taking some time for me to wrap my head around." But she was working on it and if Sophie really meant what she said, Ella could take some comfort in that. His mom and his aunt. That was just...and Ethan, he was dealing with these things too which made Ella's heart sink. She honestly didn't understand why things like this happened to good people, to people she loved. It wasn't fair. Her eyebrows shot up at the news about Ethan's father, though. "Wait, ...what?" That was new the blonde shot a quizzical look at her friend and continued listening attentively. "He must be stressed out, Mordred. I'm not so sure he deserves to be hexed anymore." She was more stating facts than addressing Soph but still. As for the older boy taking responsibility for Ethan, this tugged at the corners of Ella's lips the tiniest bit. "He may be 19 but he's the most mature 19 year old I know, honestly." Mordred had always been that way. "He'll take good care of Ethan." She honestly believed this. "And dragons?" Somehow she wasn't surprised by this. "Hope he doesn't get eaten." She was kidding and it was clearly written on her face but she nudged her friend gently just in case she took it the wrong way. "Hey, Sophie? The Ethan stuff...how do you feel about it?" Because they'd be graduating and from what Ella gathered, Sophie wanted to be with Mordred after Hogwarts too. Adding Ethan into the mix would change things, wouldn't it? Not necessarily her feelings but maybe her plans. The blonde couldn't help but be curious. |
Aw, thanks xD we lurve Ella as well! *pets 'em* Text Cut: Ze bestie Sophie chuckled at the hip bump. "I suppose it's normal and that it takes a while for people to understand they're not that ordinary..." She added, smiling back at Ella and shrugging her shoulders. "At least normal people." And not those who overestimated themselves, heh. Sophie shook her head and shrugged again, but this time in confusion. "I have no idea, really. That was all that Mordred had time to tell me back at the station. And it's all quite confusing anyway, he said." And far too much for a 19 year-old to deal with, in Sophie's opinion. She wished... his father would do something so Mordred didn't have to worry so much. But she wouldn't really tell him that, because... well, for some reason Sophie thought the Mordaunt's were a bit intimidating. Except for Mordred. "Exactly..." Her poor boyfriend didn't deserve to be hexed at all. Though that would be Sophie's opinion even if all that hadn't happened. Ella's comment on Mordred's maturity put a weak smile on Sophie's face. "That's true. I think he can handle a lot more than we think he can. At least I hope so..." Because there wasn't much they could do now, was there? Sigh. "The good thing is that Ethan's attending Durmstrang, so he should be fine over there." Apart from all of the mental students that seemed to go there... violent kids and whatnot. The thought made Sophie shudder a bit and shake her head slightly. "He'll be fine." The girl added with a nod, though she was still trying to convince herself of that as well. "Me too." How terrible would it be if he got injured right after letting Sophie know he was still alive after such a long time away? Nope. Not fun. "Hm?" She let her bestie know she was listening as she still observed the humpbacked witch with no interest at all. Ella asked how she felt about the Ethan stuff and that made Sophie think a bit before answering. "I think... it's very nice what Mordred's doing. The right thing." She glanced at Ella for a second before looking back up at the odd witch. "Though I think his father was the one who should be doing it... but since he's not..." Shrug. "I think it's good that Mordred cares this much about Ethan. Isn't it? Shows that he's a very good person." Not that it needed to be proven. "I already knew that, but... you know." Sophie gave Ella a small smile and another shrug. "What do you think about all this?" |
SPOILER!!: Sophieee! Ella nodded her head. There would always be the overconfident sort, of course, but generally people seemed to need to get used to things like this. Considering Ella thought less of herself than normal people might, it just might take her a bit longer, is all. "I bet." About the confusion stuff. And really, Ella's thoughts had now centered around Ethan and everything he must be feeling. She wondered if he could tell something was up and how he would react when everything was revealed to him. The kid was in for a shock, that was for sure. The blonde couldn't help but worry about how he'd take it. She also really wished she could give him a hug right about now. Sophie could handle giving Mordred one. Speaking of her best, the blonde gave her a reassuring smile when she noticed how worried she looked. "Mordred will be okay, Sophie. They both will." Mordred cared a lot about Ethan, that much she knew. He'd take good care of him and Ethan would do the same for him. The right thing. Ella nodded her head, eyes on the statue. The blonde couldn't help but think that just because it was the right thing where Ethan was concerned didn't mean it was right for Mordred. He wasn't old enough to be a dad and even though he was taking on the responsibility with no complaints, it didn't make it right. Not that Ella saw any other options, honestly. It was all just really complicated. At least it seemed that way to her. "It is nice that he cares. I think it'd be hard not to care about Ethan. That kid is walking sunshine." The head girl was a fan. She glanced over and returned Sophie's smile with a faint one of her own before considering her own thoughts on the matter. "I think I would do what Mordred's doing if it were me." No question about it. "And I respect him for stepping up." Not that she'd tell him that. Duh. "But it's really none of my business." |
Tessa walked up to the Humpbacked witch statue and gave it a long look. She had heard that there used to be a secret passage here- a long time ago. Unfortunately, one did not exist there any more. She sighed. That was one of the things she had really wanted to find- a true secret passage. Anyway... That wasn't her reason for being here today. Instead, she was meeting her friends for some Charms discussion. Why this spot, she wasn't sure. But it was just as good as any! |

Bay arrived at this weird Humpbacked Witch Statue.. "Remind me to pick the place next time, this thing" he pointed to the statue "is creeping me out" he said as he spotted Lux and Tessa… "Wheres Sander" he said while doing a big YAWN |
So while Caelen was trying to find her way around the third floor corridor, she came across a statue. A freaky statue. A hunchback witch statue. And it was CREEPY. The redhead didn't know why. Maybe it was one of those childhood things that always scared people, like the monsters in the basement or the freaky bathroom at school. Or maybe it just plain looked creepy. Either way. She was not a fan of that statue. Wasn't their supposed to be a passageway behind here? You had to get the witch to move. But how exactly did that happen? And Caelen read that the passageway was blocked off anyway. And she was afraid she'd lose housepoints for trying. Or even get expelled. Yeah, THAT would make her mom happy. Be the first person in her family to get expelled from Hogwarts. No matter how many times Rockwell just nearly escaped being in trouble, he never got as far as to be expelled. He's lost housepoints and he lost eyebrows before, but he's never been expelled. Grounded at home, sure, but never expelled. She would have to research the statue further and then get back to the whole passage sitution. Fully list the consequences and fully think about how to do this. To be honest, the firstie would probably forget the whole scheme in about a day, as soon as something more interesting came up. And everythign more interesting ALWAYS came up. It was the like the rule of Hogwarts. Caelen took one last look at the statue and then skipped off, trying to find the room again. She swore it existed. And she would deny it if it didn't. Deny she ever thought of going there. |
Sander managed to find his way to the Humpback Witch Statue and was dismayed to see everyone already there. "I'm sorry...I'm sorry...I'm sorry I'm late. I'm still trying to find my way around this castle. So are we ready to do some charm work?" he turned to each of his friends enquiringly. |

Hearing both Bay and Sander arrive, she smiled at them both. "Hey, Sir Bay and Peter Pan!" Laughing at what Bay said about the statue. "I know what you mean. I would rather do this in the kitchens or Great Hall." That way they could eat as well as do Charms work. |
Tessa grinned as Lux used her nickname. She quickly struck a super hero pose, fighting the wince as her joints complained. "Hello Lux!" She laughed at Bay's reaction to their meeting place. "Oh come on, Bay!" she chided with a laugh. "Where's your Gryffindor courage? Besides, do you know the history behind this statue?" she asked- thinking how it was funny that she was talking about history. Anyway... "There he is!" she said, skipping over to plant a quick kiss on Sander's lips before Lux would see. "This won't take long," she assured Lux. "Then we can all go for a snack! Are you all ready with your charms?" she asked, looking around the group. |
Sander grinned when he saw Tessa and even more when she leaned over and kissed him. He returned the kiss before quickly glancing over at Lux to see whether she had seen that shared kiss. For some reason, she seemed to think kissing was gross. "I'm ready if everyone else is," he told everyone. He couldn't wait to show Lux his favorite charm. |
Bay smiled at everyone. "Im so Yawwnnn ready for this" he said giving a smile after such a big yawn. thinking of his most favourite charm he had a smile on his lips, perfecting timing. |
Lux watched as Tessa and Sander kissed in what she assumed was a secretive manner for her sake. "It's fine if you guys kiss... I don't mind. I know that you kiss." She shrugged, not grossed out about it. Surely they all remembered that she had recently kissed Louis. Now there was talk of eating after they finished. "Okay, let's get too this! Especially since it seems that Bay wants to take a nap." |
Charms EC Tessa smiled around at her friends. "I'll demonstrate my favorite first," she said with a grin. "Are you guys all ready?" she asked, stepping back and bringing out her wand. "My favorite charm is Colovaria," she told them, thought she doubted that it would be a surprise. "It's a simple charm, and all you have to do is point at what you want to change the color of... see?" She brought her hair over her shoulder and pointed at one of the blue strands. "Colovaria," she cast, pointing her wand, and the strand instantly changed to a bright purple. "Ta-daaa!" she said. Then, pointing her wand at each of her friends' heads, she changed their hair color: Sander's to royal purple, Lux's to a bright green, and Bay's to electric blue. |
Charms EC post Sander watched as Tessa first demonstrated her spell before she cunningly, and without warning, changed the color of his hair to royal purple. "Hey wait a minute. I'm Peter Pan. My hair should be green not Lux's," Sander protested with a grin on his face. "But we can fix that later. Now it's my turn to show all of you my favorite charm spell." Sander picked up his backpack and emptied the contents inside it before showing it to everyone. "Okay Lux, now I'm going to show you how to cast my favorite charm. This is called the Undetectable Extension Charm and what it does it make things larger on the inside while remaining the way it looks on the outside. You know just like the Doctor's Tardis. You can use this spell in lots of ways. Take this backpack for example. Right now I can only put in my school books and journal and then it's full. But after I cast the spell...well you'll see in a few minutes, what happens." Sander winked at Lux. "Okay the incantation for the spell is Magnus Centrum and the wand movement is just a light tap on the target. Remember you have to concentrate on the spell and what you want it to do. Okay here goes, Sander told Lux as he began to demonstrate the charm to Lux and the others. He visualized what he wanted to do, then he tapped his backpack lightly with his wand, while saying the incantation, "Magnus Centrum." A beam of light streamed from his wand and enveloped his backpack before disappearing. Sander opened the backpack, and began replacing its contents. But he didn't stop there. He took off his shoes, his jacket, his sweater, his tie and place them all inside . "See how it works. It still looks like regular backpack but now I can put more things inside it." Sander ended his demonstration. Yes that was his favorite charm. He always used it especially when he was traveling. He could put all his hockey equipment and clothing all into one duffle bag instead of multiple ones. It really made traveling a lot easier. |
Charms EC This was so much fun! Lux watched as Tessa changed everyone's hair a different colour, and took a strand of hers in her hand to see that it was bright green. Sander must be pretty jealous of that, since he was Peter Pan. But it was okay, because Bay's was now blue and that was her favourite colour; Lux wanted blue hair too. Curiously, she watched as Sander then demonstrated his favourite charm. It really was very cool, it was obvious why he liked it so much. Being able to store a lot of things in a regular sized bag must really come in handy for a hockey player. "I am definitely going to remember these spells!" It would be so much fun being able to change the colour of her hair or anything else if she wanted to, and the storage one had so many possibilities. Now it was her turn to take her wand out. "I am going to do my favourite, which is clearly the Cheering Charm." Was that a surprise to any of her friends? She thought not. "I know that the incantation is 'Gaudeo', and all I have to do is point at the person I want to be happy and say that world." Showing her friends what she knew about the charm made her feel smarter. Pointing her wand at Sander and picturing what she wanted to happen in her head, she said "Gaudeo." Fingers crossed she hadn't overdone it. Turning her focus on Tessa, she repeated the spell before doing the same to Bay as well. Now all three of her friends would be in a really good mood. Eagerly, she waited for Bay to take his turn and show them what he could do. |
Charms EC Bay smiled when everyone got there, they seemed to want to go in some sort of order.. so Tessa went first, watching her demonstrate and telling them what was going to happen… ohh cool colouring charm… sweet… wait.. not any more Bay's hair was now blue.. "is there a mirror can i see?" he asked anyone for he wanted to see what it looked like. And now was Sanders turn.. he was going to be doing the Undetectable Extension Charm, he's only seen this done once before and thought it was really cool but he hasn't seen it in all its steps.. Watching carefully Bay took out his parchment and wrote down the steps.. "dude this is gold" he told his friend. Lux… she picked the cutest charm of them all.. the cheering charm.. he was suddenly so full of cheer but as soon as she ended it he became more and more tired.. what..he can't be blamed he's an old man.. so he thought this was the best chance for him to use his favourite charm which was the Cushioning Charm…. which the incantation is "Spongify".. "Alright guys my turn… Yawn….. I'm going to show you how to do the Cushioning Charm" he told them while taking out his wand.. "okay so the charm incantation is pronounced Spongify…." saying it slowly for everyone… so now he was showing them the wand movement. "alright so you have to trace a small circle in the air… and then like draw a vertical line though it.. the middle that is.. and you will see the sing linger only for a few seconds… and its the most awesome colour.. it will match my hair.." he told them finally demonstrating it for everyone. Taking his wand he said "Spongify" while tracing the small circle in the air and then he drew a vertical line though the middle. Pointing his wand towards the floor for that was the intended target to have it cushioned. "see thats the colour.. its an awesome light blue" he said while doing a little bounce on the floor "see.. now the floor is nice and comfy…." he gave off another yawn and laid down on the floor. "its perfect to sleep on" he said in-between more yawns. Soon enough all you heard come from Bay was snoring. |
Sander watched proudly as Lux demonstrated her charm to them and then Bay with his. He clapped when both were done. He was feeling even more happier now than he was a few minutes ago. He was so happy that he placed one arm around Tessa's shoulder and the other around Lux's. "Group Hug everyone. You too, Bay. Come and join us." Sander leaned down to his friend, poking him with his toe. "Bay stop snoring and wake up!" he laughed at his friend. |
