The Badgers sit under a brand new gold and black banner representing their house. Their solid, shiny wooden table is nicely polished with all the place settings perfectly set. The food will arrive after the Headmistress' traditional start-of-term speech. To all Hufflepuffs, both new and old: welcome to Hogwarts!

"Nice to meet you too, Lux. That is a SUPER COOL NAME. Is it a nickname, or your full one?" Marigold asked. She was interested in names, especially because she didn't quite like her own. She then turned to Lux fully and asked her the question that had been bugging her. "You look older than a first year, but you're new here, right? Did you transfer?"
Oh, well this girl was definitely really sweet. "Thank you, I think you have a nice name too." She had never met anyone named Marigold before, and she actually liked flowers even if she was not into a lot of the girly things that other females were into. "That's my actual name; my nickname is Cucumber." That was the name that Bay had come up with earlier, and she was sticking to it because she really liked it.
She nodded when asked if she was a new transfer. "Yes, I am starting off here as a Second Year as I was home schooled last Term." And she had to say that Hogwarts was a nice place to be, ghosts aside. "What Year are you in?" She looked to be a little older, but it was kinda hard for her to know for sure.

SPOILER!!: Ace the Kace!
Kace chuckled at the pun on words. "Hey i see what you did there. That was very punny." he said laughing some more. They were making bad jokes but it was fun to do. "Oh well i am growing i know that. I have grown since my first year. At least....i hope so!" he said chuckling. "But i think i did because some people noticed." he shrugged innocently.
"Yeah the pajama party was just for the puffs team. We had ice cream and everything. I loved it." he smiled. He was the one for sweets and cookies and everything under the sun sugar related.
Kace eyebrows raised. He didn't like spicy food. That was new to him. "Oh well my dad is a HUGE spicy food eater. He LOVES that stuff. So i am quite used to it by now. But my mom is a huge italian food eater so i get plenty of that type of food type." he nodded. "But i am craving some ribs and steak..." he said noticing his out west personality was coming out.
Yes. Tag was the master of bad or lame jokes. Very good indeed. Unless he was with Alec, with Alec his stuff was always gold even if it wasn't, his jokes were very weak. "People notice growth, they do. Or you would at least, especially if you were really short in the past year or so. Really noticeable." Tag had one of those moments over the summer.
Of course, if Tag hadn't heard about it, then it mostly had been just for the Hufflepuffs. But, how come Alec had never told Tag? Hmph! "Just the puff team. That would explain why I didn't know about it. Especially if there was free food..." If there were free food he should have known about it.
Yep. Kace was a Gryffindor in hiding. He spoke very highly of food, which was something Tag suspected all lions enjoyed. But italian, yes! "Yes yes yes! Italian food. I love me some italian food all the way." Then Kace mentioned manly food, which Tag nodded several times at. "Ribs and steak. Yep. Manly food for manly men!"
SPOILER!!: Hair Ruffler!
There was no way Alec could mess Tag's hair up; he liked the spiky, fluffiness that the Gryffindor had going on far too much. Plus, Tag might not appreciate it, yeah? All shampoos were useful. This was... amusing. Not the comment but the fact that Tag was now fully into the hair thing. Was it Alec's influence or was the boy normally like this? "You're right there, leprechaun," Nodnod. "Erm... I... I think so? Why?" Curious Summers was curious.
The seventh year nodded at Tag's remark. "Yeah, it did. I mean... you were talking about words and having the same connotations and... yeah. Wise. Accept it, Yoda," The two had had conversations where Tag had pretended to be Yoda, right? Shrug. Knowing them, it had probably happened. "Give it a go... give it my all... I guess I can do that," See? Positivity. "Thanks for believing in me, mate."
Super sweets were the BEST sweets around, hands down. You had your normal ones but the super ones... they were the greatest. Hand picked. Full of awesome. "There... could be one," he suggested, "Awesome! I'll get some soon and add them to the stash." Maybe they could make a game out of it; one hour of studying meant you could reward yourself with a star.
The passing grades were the only ones the nearly eighteen year old knew about. If he did find out about the others... well... Alec didn't know how he'd respond. Give a boy a pat on the shoulder for trying? Tell him he still did brilliantly? Yeah. Of course. "Anytime! ... Oh! I'm really glad they did," ... Studying. The topic was boring and one Alec didn't like but Tag's comment made him chuckle. "I... thanks, I guess. Make sure I don't get bored out of my mind, yeah?"
...
Tag. Tag Tag Tag. Alec's eyes widened a little and he looked over at the Gryffindor. It was a joke, sure, but he knew that Ells was sitting RIGHT there, right? "You sure you're not talking about yourself instead, mate?" And a particular brunette. Cough.
Nope. Tag had never been this much into his hair until he met Alec and they started having discussions about it. See what you've done! "I usually am right." Surprising though. He had been right and Lottie was near them. Miracles. "You think so? I'm not sure... It's just he seems familiar. Was he ever mentioned in Astronomy class?" Tag couldn't remember cause... distractions.
Wise and words and connotations and Yoda and acceptance. Tag slowly nodded his head at all of Alec's words. Sure, we'll go with what he said. "Sure. I'll accept myself being yoda." He simply said in response. And more nodding. Alec shouldn't be too nervous about his job, right? He got picked because of particular reasons. You'll be good. I'm sure you will be. Don't be nervous. Just look in the mirror everyday and say "I'm Alec Blake Summers. I'm headboy because I'm a good kid. I have great hair. I can do this."" Encouraging wise words, right? Right. "You're welcome!"
So Alec had mentioned a super stash but had there even been a super stash to begin with? This boy, seriously. Anyway, Tag listened some more. "What do you already have in the stash?" That was a very important question.
Why were they talking about studying again? Studying and work was borrrrinnng and time consuming. The less they had of it, the better things were for them. "They did help. And so did the snacks." Everything Alec had provided Tag with, had helped. And a certain Hogwartian had helped too! "I'll keep you procrastinating till the last minute." Cause that's what best friends did.
"Nope. I'm not talking about myself. I'm not flirting with anyone at the moment." Wink to you Summers. But then Tag covered his mouth, "But I am flirting with you, I think." Nod. Tag didn't flirt and if he did it sounded a lot like this 'I like your face'.
SPOILER!!: The Flower! and an inkling of Summers!
Classic jokes are classic. We agree.
The staff table momentarily forgotten, because more important people were in this table, she was actually surprised at the question. Her face lit up with a smile, "Right now?" Her eyes were on him, that was a very obvious answer. However, she did know what it was he'd been asking about and she glanced at the staff table once more, "New Groundskeeper, see?" The man was the biggest over there, Tag would be able to see him. "Looks kind of menacing... intimidating...," keyword here was 'looks', looks were quite deceiving sometimes, her eyes went back to Tag and she smiled, "...maybe he isn't." She'd still have to pay a visit. Perhaps with Lex.
And now he was laughing... at her and Alec's interaction? This was the feast, this interaction was highly normal, but she still smiled as he laughed... until he spoke.
Her eyebrows went up. And she smirked.
Granted, she didn't know what to reply to that, except for one single word on her mind which she didn't dare speak up. Mainly thanks to Alec since he replied before her mind could be made up. That was quick, Seeker!boy. "Oh, no, he won't be needing any privacy, Alec," in a long time. Really long time. Since Lottie was quite possibly blushing, she turned her head away from the boys rather slowly and pretended to be interested in the food close by.
She was quite good at pretending. And surprisingly not hungry at the moment. Weird.
Tag watched Lottie, and even averted his gaze to the direction her blue eyes were looking up at at the Staff table. Apparently it was that big dude. "New groundskeeper I see. Looks and kind of are the words to watch out in what you said." Tag nodded some. Those were the words to watch out for. And sometimes big men like him turned out to be really big teddy bears, who knew right? "Maybe he isn't all of that stuff you listed. But, do you think it might be a factor when we're going into the forest?" Was that still happening?
Smirks and laughter. AHA! Very good. Then raised eyebrows and Tag immediately thought of Colin. Anyway. What did that mean? The blonde would just try to silently come up with his own conclusion. He turned to Alec really quickly though and said, "I was only joking, of course. Kidding. What I said." Salute! That was a form of apologizing for him and Ella. What he did decide to point out was the cheeks though. "You're so tomato-y right now Lotus. And I do believe there's a star heating up the color on your face." Just saying. And to point out the obvious and stuff. Things Tag did.

Tessa cocked her head to the side as Laura described some of the things that happened around the school. "Well, that's going to be a new experience," she said thoughtfully. She couldn't wait to give that one a try. She wondered if anyone had tried surfing down the staircases as they moved... she would have to get a look at them first.
"Well, I wish you luck with that!" She whistled at the title Laura wanted. "5,000 races huh? Well, I'm hoping you'll send me tickets to at least a few of those?" she said with a wide smile.
Laura smiled at Tessa. "Of course, that's what friends do right!" Laura just hoped she'd get some Quidditch tickets back in return but well that was up to Christmas and Tessa, which reminded her why was everyone so into becoming famous at Quidditch it must have been really hard to get noticed.

Laura looked up as someone spoke her name. "Hi Bri." Laura smiled at the young girl. "My name is Laura." Laura was going to try something new and not introduce her full name like she used too. "How are you? and did you enjoy the train ride here?" Laura then decided to introduce the other girl. "This is Tessa and she's a Gryffindor." Laura pointed to her sixth year friend.

"Excellent! ANd I'll be sure to send you tickets- especially when we get into the World Cup," she told the girl with a wink. It wasn't an 'if'- it was a 'when', and she hoped her team would be competing in it every year. But she wouldn't get too far ahead of herself. "So, tell me about some of your horses," she asked, curious.
Tessa looked over at the other girl and smiled. "Bri! We met on the train- you were in the same compartment with Bay, Lux, Christmas and I," she said with a grin. "Make it here alright? What do you think of it so far?" she asked. It was a lot to take in, she couldn't blame the girl if she were feeling a little overwhelmed.
Tessa nodded at Laura's question. "That's Lux," she told her. "She and I, as well as a few others met on the train. She had been hanging over at the Gryffindor table, but I guess she's wandered over now," she explained with a warm smile.
"Hey Messer, nice to meet ya mate!" He did have a firm hand grip. Kace approved. His dad told him, you can tell a man is serious by his handshake. "I am in my third year. So i am not that old yet." he said jokingly.
He gave the younger Hufflepuff a grin after they shook hands. Oh. Third year? "Cool." He remembered when he's a third year not his best year but its okay. Messer chuckled at that old comment. Wait. was that mean he's old? Yikes. "Soon you will be." he joked. "You looking forward for your third year?"

That girl seemed to say so; the one who was younger than them and couldn't stop raving about how great Messy was. "Anytime!"
BLINK. ... What... was Messy doing?! There was just about enough space but the boy still scooted over a little. Did he understand what was going on, though? No. Not even one bit. Alec stared at him and then over at... oh. OH. This was an interesting development. "Are you scared of Ells, Messy?" More teasing opportunities? YEAH.
And he wasn't eavesdropping on his conversation with Head Girlfriend herself, no, but that comment? Not cool, Mess, not cool.
What's with the eyebrows thingy? Did he said something funny? "Family things." Shrugs. And when's the Headmistress gonna make that speech? Didn't she know that he's starving? He could practically heard his stomach growling.
Messer turned his attention back to the Head Boy when he mentioned about his dancing skill. "I'm sure they're not that bad." Maybe he should asked Ella about her boyfriend dancing skill surely the couple have done some couple dance thingy together, no? His passion? "Its fun. But its not really my passion." Or maybe its he still hasn't figure that one out.
"Scared of your girlfriend? Pffft..No." Pause. "Should I?"

And he missed her so he got extra points for that. "We have some catching up to do, yeah? How was your summer?"
Oh. no. Just. no.
Normally Ella would have been amused by Messer's teasing but given Alec stuff and things they'd fought about in the past, the whole thing made her stomach turn uneasily. She glanced over at the hair ruffler and gave him a nervous smile before she addressed the ballerina badger again. "Don't tease, Messer." He got a nudge in the arm too. "You can have hugs, though. I think you owe me some."
He couldn't help to smile when Ella pushed up the corners of his mouth into a smile. And that comment about promises made him a bit better. A bit. But he's really relieved that Ella wasn't mad like he's imagined her to be. "Yes. Yes we do. I have a great summer. What about you? Did you have a good summer with Summers?" GRINS!
And speaking about catching up. "Ells, why Professor Hadley not sitting in her usual chair?" Last time he's here, Hadley is an Arithmancy Professor not Muggle Studies Professor. Was this something that he missed during his absent?
Messer noticed the tension after he made a comment about the kiss. What's with Ella and Alec? He's just teasing. Why they looked like someone just died? Did he missed something again? Blink. Blink. BLINK. "Umm. Sorry?" He said to the Head Couple. "Sure I could use some hug." Who can resist a hug? Certainly not him. He hugged her and gave Ella a pat in her back then quickly unwrapped himself from her before someone decided to stab him with a fork.
.......
He noticed the students got silent. That mean the Headmistress gonna have her speech soon. Finally. He could have some foods. After she finished her speech, as usual the foods appear. Messer quickly filled his plate with food when he's about to eat, he noticed that Ella hasn't eaten hers yet and she's kinda down? The seventh year was about to asked her what's wrong but then he saw Alec grabbed Ella's hand. "You know what, mate. Let's change position, yeah?"

Missed his pickles? As if. He doesn't even like pickles because it taste weird and all. "I might see him a couple of times in the Common Room but I wasn't around last year." So yeah he didn't really know Wade much but he did know that Wade was last year Head Boy.
"I'm Messer by they way." He introduced himself to the younger boy.

But, that was a lot of stuff that made them close, and probably people could start mistaking Tag as a badger seeing how much time he spent with a few of them.
Yes, TuTu boy. The rumor is going around. Tag merely smirked at his own comment.
"More than 'a while'. Where had you gone? That's good that you're ready for the term." His last year, right? For Messer? Tag wasn't too close with him but he believed he was in Alec's year. Did Tag have a good summer. Heh. "Excellent summer really. Lots of stargazing. A lot of sunshine to go around the entire break." He said smiling. Just pure excellence. "And did you have a good summer too?"
"You should start wearing black and yellow then." And moved to their boys dorm. Surely Tag would made a great roommate, no?
He just won't think about that nickname.
Where had he gone? "Family things, mate. Sorry." He didn't want to leave Hogwarts in the first place but its urgent. "What about you? Excited for your sixth year?" Tag was a year younger than him, right? "Stargazing? Wow. Sounds you have really fun summer." Its been a while since he did stargazing. "I did. I went skiing with my uncle so not a lot of sunshine in my summer." He chuckled.

Marigold was glad that she was encouraging the Quidditch try outs. "I just figured I would try, right? No harm in trying out," she said with a grin.
Hugs? Okay, then. Ella wasn't opposed to those so she hugged the younger girl back, a confused expression on her face. She hadn't done anything hug worthy that she was aware of but Hufflepuffs did like to hug so no questions from the head girl. She smiled back when Marigold let go and that was that.
"Anytime. I know how that can be so ...yeah." A sad sort of smile crossed the seventeen year old's face and it widened slightly at the younger badger's suggestion. "Of course. That'd be great." Maybe she could answer any questions she had about Quidditch or something.
"That's the spirit! I expect to see you at tryouts, definitely." Where was Kaiden, anyway? Ella wanted to tell him about his newest recruit.

There you go, Messy. Ella's smile widened a little when she got a proper one from him and she let her hands drop, satisfied. "Much better." Mhm! As for summer, Ella was glad his was great. "Do anything fun, then?" Besides ballet. The blonde sort of figured that one was a given. "Mine was good. It was nice having Alec around so much." And Ella smiled a little sheepishly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "I interned at Magical Menagerie too which was nice." Lots of keeping busy.
Poor Mess had NO idea. Just...none. And Ella felt really bad but it was something they were working on, yeah? Her and Alec. And she guessed it was going to take a while for things to change but at least they were both trying. Mostly. "No worries," She said before nudging the boy next to her gently in the arm. She smiled too for good measure. And then hugs happened so Ella squished Messy and left it at that. "It's good to have you back."

She was wiggling her pinky in the air! Alec grinned and wiggled his back at her. This was probably weird, yeah? Shrug. It didn't matter. Air pinky promises had been made and he was happy about that. ... She had something for breakfast but not much on the train. And not worry? She did know that he had to worry some time, right? "I'm glad you had something to eat." Nodnod. And she could fill up here. What were feasts for, after all.
"Why do you think it was said?" It was a prank, sure, but was it to get the guy into trouble? Or to mess with the prefects and captains? Alec was... curious about the reasoning. Yeah. "Oh! I hope they're a great bunch," he said, shrugging his shoulders. He didn't think he knew many new students that well, apart from maybe Delilah. Did three meetings count as onowing someone well? ... "Yeah... yeah, it is." Mentioning his own underwear here wouldn't be great, would it? No. So... she'd did out the details later. Maybe. If... it wasn't embarrassing.
...
And this happened. He knew it. Alec frowned a little as waited for the girl to e finished piling her plate with food. Frankly, he didn't know how to reassure her about things without mentioning other things that he had sworn he wouldn't mention to anybody. After a couple of seconds, he reached over -- move over, please, Messy -- and grabbed hold of one of her hands, giving it a small, affectionate squeeze. Cheer up, please girlfriend?
Air pinky promises were new. The whole scene made her smile because really, they both probably looked ridiculous but at least they were being ridiculous together. As for his comment, she just nodded a little. Her eating habits had come up a lot lately, yeah? She'd just...rather not discuss it.
Why the billywig talk on the train? Ella really wasn't that sure. "Sounded to me like that Sophie girl was trying to throw that Cutty kid under the bus for some reason." Maybe it was just a little rivalry...or maybe she was trying to get his attention because she liked him. She shrugged because honestly, she didn't know. All she did know was that she was happy it wasn't true. "Yeah, I hope they are too otherwise we'll have our hands full." Not that they couldn't handle it...maybe. And yeah, she'd be asking more questions later, Summers. Ella was very curious about that little incident. And totally understood how it felt because of Oakey and Aegis reasons
...
Nope. Ella didn't want hand squeezes right now, okay? She was trying really hard not to be upset and the hand squeezes only made her feel like she had a right to be so they weren't helping. The blonde slipped her hand out of Alec's and glanced at him. "I need that hand to eat,"She said quietly. Though Tag was still talking about flirting or whatever and given Ella didn't know things about stuff, she took that as her boyfriend and Lottie had been or something. And even if Tag was kidding, which he said out loud and she totally believed, she still felt a bit weird about it. For reasons. And she knew Alec would have felt weird if he was in her shoes for those same reasons so yeah.
Ella dropped her fork and moved to get out of her seat. As for Messy moving, Ella placed a hand on his arm and smiled faintly. "No need, yeah?" She was leaving anyway.
"I'm going to the bathroom before we have to lead the first years back."
Its really good to see a familiar looking face. Oh and he got a hug too. "And its good to see you too, love." He hugged her back. "I've been good. Great actually because now I'm back to Hogwarts again." he smiled. "What about you? How are you? When did you go all grown up?" Last time he saw Adeline, they're in fourth? Or third year? He honestly can't remember.
Adeline was just glad to see Messer, she hadn't seen him since she was last at Hogwarts, that was forever ago so it was good to seem and the hug was needed. Adeline sat back down in her seat. "Here, you can sit next to me if you'd like." she smiled. She was doing a lot of smiling, it had to be because she was finally back at Hogwarts after three years. It was just amazing here, she wished she didn't have to leave at the end of term. "I'm so glad to be back at Hogwarts." FINALLY! When did she get all grown up? Well Adeline did have a reason behind it but she didn't want to scare Messer about, she would slowly tell him at some point this term. "I'm great, just glad to be back at Hogwarts." just the same as him really. "I honestly have no idea." she laughed.

Now his eyes were fixated on the silverware in front of him.
But voice... person... "Adel! Hey!" GRIN. Did he mention how great it was to see her again? Probably. A bit more than necessary. "Welcome back, I guess. Erm... how do you feel being back in here?" Because she had said that she was excited about the idea of coming back.
Adeline giggled a bit when she saw Alec staring at the silverware, she didn't know why it was funny but it just was or she was just in a giggly mood, it might be the second choice but she had never seen someone so intrigued by silverware. "How was the train ride? I thought it was longer than any other time." So true but she had Asher there to keep her company so that was good. "I feel like a fourth year again instead of a seventh year." she laughed.

Startled by his good looks? Maybe if she were younger and didn't have a boyfriend then maybe, yeah? "Oh? Totally startled by your good looks." SARCASM. She wasn't very sarcastic much but she felt that needed some sarcasm so she was fine with it, it's not like she was being rude or anything. "I'm a seventh year." Which still felt very odd to say.

Wow, this first year seemed very polite. "Lovely to meet you, Bri." Very lovely, she just loved to make new friends, to bad she wasn't here for one more year, then they would have gotten to be nice friends. "Are you shocked by Hogwarts yet?" Adeline was shocked when she was in her first year, the castle was just so huge and beautiful and it still is.

He could count on that. The not being a stranger part. Alec grinned and nodded at the young boy. "Awesome. And... that means you can count on me not to be one either." That is... if the boy thought he was going to. It wasn't happening so Kace Lecium, you're stuck with this tall, awkward seventh year.
... What? "Really?! I... that sounds like it was a lot of fun!" Really busy as well. Now Alec felt a little bad for just sitting at Ella's house for most of the summer. Or looking after two kittens, an owl and a puppy. "The Bahamas... what was it like? What was your favourite part?" Alec wanted to know everything.
And the boy had really blonde hair, did he know?
Kace chuckled and answered his question. "Well my favorite part of the Bahamas was when i was always in the ocean. I loved the water and the clearness that you can see your toes through the water. I also liked watching people surf. I managed to get a little lesson." he told Alec.
"Plus the snorkeling was so much fun. I got to see a lot of fishes and wild life. i wanted to touch the fish but i couldn't." he shrugged.

"Oh well the cuteness charm? You never heard of it? Every first year has one." he told her. "I am sure you will find it this year." he assured her. "I found mine when i first came here not even a week in." he chuckled and remember how everyone found him so cute.
"I do play Quidditch, but just last year i needed a break." he shrugged like it was no big deal. "But i hope to play on the team this year."

"Yup i am!" he said happily back. "Oh you do? I love Florida! i love going on vacations there and plus i heard it it always warm there." he told Bri. Well his parents always told him because they went there a lot. "Oh Kansas? Well it is in the middle you are right." he said confirming her question. "But there is a lot of open land and plus i live on a farm. So i just help my mom and grandma with what they need to do like feed the chickens, ride the horses...that kind of thing."

She fought a blush as he took her hand. She felt those stupid butterflies in her stomach again but she nodded and took a seat beside him, just grabbing a glass of water, not really sure what she wanted to eat out of everything.
Hmmm....Anna asked him a good question. "Umm nah i wouldn't wanna teach. I wanna work somewhere in the sports related field. Like either play for a team or be in the action like reporting." he told Anna. He couldn't really see himself teaching but things could change right?
As he grabbed her hand, he noticed her blushing and he smirked. He didn't wanna point it out. But he kind of knew she had a crush on him. "So to be helpful i would pick my favorite dish like steak.." he said picking it out and cutting it up into pieces and then got a hero roll and make a steak sandwich.

Kace smiled when she hugged her. He admitted she was a good hugger. "Aww it is fine, i was busy too. A lot of people wanna meet me can you believe that?" he smirked. "Oh you did? And i did too. I met soo many people. More than last year. And noooo not anyone special." he chuckled when she winked.

Kace nodded. "It does make sense, i mean i was soo short in my first year and then i had like a growth spurt overnight. It is really weird...but in a good way! I mean boys are supposed to be tall." he smiled to Tag. "Just like us."
"Yes manly food for men!" Kace agreed with him. "Have you ever traveled before and tried different foods?" he asked him curiously.

Kace chuckled. He like when someone else had a sense of sarcasm like he did. "I like you. You have a sense of sarcasm like i do. Sometimes it is good to do it to other people. It breaks some boundaries." he told the seventh year. "Woah that is pretty cool. I am only a third year as you probably could tell." he shrugged because he did look younger but not by much as he did in his first year.

[spoiler= Annaleecia] "Nice to meet you Bart." She gave a small nod and smiled at him, "So, is it your first year here as well?" Maybe she and Mel weren’t the only two that came here later than their first year… After all, he didn’t look younger than her, so maybe someone else who could relate to them? Everyone else she’d met had been there since their first year and it made her feel a little left out.[/spoiler
“Nice to meet you too Anna.” He guessed it was nice to meet her, but he still wasn’t sure what girl category he’d put her in yet. Looking at her for a few moments, did she just call him a first year? Sigh.. sigh, but then he realized she was asking if it’s his first year as well, was she new? “Yeah I umm kind of transferred from Urelic.” He assumed the Australian accent gave away where that was. “You new too?” Not that it mattered so many students in all everyone would just blend in.
SPOILER!!: Alec
So... Fox Boy was good at noticing things? It seemed like it. Alec grinned at him before nodding. "Yeah, I did," He wasn't going to let this boy know that he felt nervous about this. Not at all. Because Wade had been an AWESOME Head Boy and now it was his turn. "He's a really good friend of mine, Wade is." They shared hair care secrets. If that didn't say that they were close, Alec didn't know what did.
That seeker. The seventh year was... confused about this little statement but things ended up becoming clearer and clearer the more the boy spoke. Should he be concerned that this boy had been... suspended from school? ... It was none of his business, right? "You thought I was awesome?" he asked, grinning a little, "I... thanks! That.. means a lot, yeah." Someone he hardly knew thought he was awesome. "Do you play?"
Was he okay with the idea of being step brothers with Wade? Alec... thought he should be. Because Wade was awesome and was bound to share pickles with the guy if he asked. "Oh... congrats to your mum, then," Smile. "Great to meet you, Bart! The name's Alec."
Oh so seeker boy was good friends with Wade, so he had to be on the cool list too. Mental note was taken on this topic. Maybe two cool puffs than, but he’d still keep his distance when Alexa was around. No point having her say he was a wanna be puffer or something. “Oh you were? Well that’s cool. Wade’s cool and all.”
He wanted to knock on the older boys head. Did he not see himself on that pitch, “Ah yeah you were awesome. The way you swoop through the air and snatch those snitches it’s amazing.” His hand movements got a big as his voice was getting louder with excitement over quidditch stuff. Did he play, DID HE PLAY, “Yes I play. I was on the reserve team at my old school, but I still played. Chaser. I can’t wait to try out here, but I might try out beater ya know because it looks awesome and you can get to hit people.” That was cool too. “Broke my nose over summer with a bludger.” He grinned way to proud of this fact.
Congrats to his mum, “Yeah sure I guess.” He scratched the back of his head, if you say so. His eyes grew bigger as he said his name, “Wait.. I know you. Luc calls you Wade’s boyfriend, right?” So this was the confusing boyfriend Alec. “Nice to meet you Alec.”
SPOILER!!: Messer
Missed his pickles? As if. He doesn't even like pickles because it taste weird and all. "I might see him a couple of times in the Common Room but I wasn't around last year." So yeah he didn't really know Wade much but he did know that Wade was last year Head Boy.
"I'm Messer by they way." He introduced himself to the younger boy.
Oh so this guy didn’t even know Wade, maybe Wade lied and he wasn’t such the big guy on campus after all. Figures all his stories were probably not even true. A little balloon deflated in the twelve year old, but to look at him you’d never notice.
Well if he wasn’t around then maybe Wade wasn’t lying who knew he was pretty much over it, it wasn’t like his step brother could help him out here now. Shrugging it off Bart gave the boy a nod, “Where were you if you weren’t here?” That was odd, right? “Bart” Had he ever said his name this much before, he really didn’t think so. Maybe he could go in front of the Headmistress turn to all the tables and just say his name wouldn’t that be easier?
Yes, exactly. It was imperative that she meets the man, only not know, possibly tomorrow, and not alone because the man still had that threatening look, though Lottie had magic on her side now... but still. So, she nodded at Tag's words, "Yes, there's only one way of knowing...," by meeting him, simple.
As far as the forest goes, she smiled when he said 'when' and immediately shook her head, "Not really, it wouldn't matter." She was still going, no matter what the man was like. After all, she hadn't known Firth when he found them...
...and now she was re-considering meeting the new one. For reasons.
Only joking. Right, of course. No need to mention the word 'flirting' to Alec, though, because no one was. No comments were made on this, but she couldn't help to smile at the one comment made on the color of her cheeks. Probably blushing a tiny bit more, she said, "Your beliefs are way off." Just saying.

And then she did just that.
That smile she had on was slowly fading away as the first thing she noticed was Ella being discreet about taking her hand back. Normally, Lottie wouldn't have minded this at all. Except she managed to catch the look on Alec's face and, more importantly, Ella's. The Hogwartian quickly looked away, since it wasn't something that concerned her...
...but she started to look back at things in her mind... and... no, that wasn't it, because Ella couldn't possibly get upset over such a silly thing. If she did, though... Lottie's eyes landed on Tag. It hadn't been his fault. Not entirely, anyway. There was someone else with the majority of the blame, and it wasn't Alec.
Well, now, this was awkward and annoying, Lottie didn't particularly like caring about this stuff.
"It's okay, no worries. I'm just not all that used to hugs."
*He waved off the hug and gave her a small smile to let her know that it was okay. He wasn't used to hugs, least of all from girls.*
"My mum made me follow my brother around. She said that he would always protect me. And he did, when he wasn't putting me in headlocks."
Annalee smiled at him and gave a small nod, "Alright… but I’m still sorry."
She looked up at him, "Yeah… We were never pushed together, but she just followed me, and expected me to protect her… Which I did… but I didn’t realize how much I miss it until I got them to agree to take her back…" Which was for the better of her sister right? She hoped so at least.

She looked at him. Why did he have to be so cute and so sweet? She just blushed even more and looked down, nodding to his question, "I’ll be honest, I’ve never had steak before so…" Anna took a small piece to try it and then grabbed a couple strawberries, probably her favorite fruit, just in case… Annaleecia looked around to find something else that looked good, just in case she didn’t like the steak.

Her Russian accent showed slightly, though she tried to fight it… She hated the way the pronunciation went with English words, "Urelic?" ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Ah. So that explained a lot but Adi couldn't help but feel a tad bit disappointed. Won't it be cool to know a real pirate? "So, do you know any pirates?'' he asked Ian casually. Any with wooden legs, too? Hehe. He moved on to the next part of the boy's statement. "Moms are usually right,'' he said. "How's the making friends thing going so far?''
Adi could read the amused look on Alec's face and that just made him grin even more. He knew he tended to get waaaay overexcited sometimes but that was good, right? Bet's being grumpy and sad. And now to answer the question. "Because I have the Inner Eye,'' he joked. Yeah right. Divination was silly. "No, it's plastered all over your face, dude. I don't think it's weird. I guess natural is the word. But you shouldn't be nervous. If they didn't think you were right for the job they won't have given you the badge.'' That made lots of sense and hopefully his friend would relax now? Oh summer! Right! ''It was great! We didn't go on a trip or anything but I got guitar lessons so that made up loads for being at home. I also did the usual stuff- catching up with friends and so.''
Adi grinned at Sander. "No problem. I was just kidding around with you.'' He examined his hand. "It isn't squished. Much.'' He laughed. Did he have a strong grip? It might have felt just a pinch to Sander. "That's mighty kind of ya to say so, Mister,'' the second year said. "I play some cricket so I guess I can credit that for my muscles.'' However small they may be. Did the older dude play any thing? He was about to ask but got side tracked by the word Durmstrang. He was from Durmstrang? How come he wasn't as mean as all as the foreign students who had been at Hogwarts last year? Was he just acting nice? Hmmmm. Adi decided he would keep an eye on the dude. He was all confused by Sander's explanation by why he was here but okay. He'd go along with it. "What's it like at Durmstrang?'' He now paid close attention to the next statements. Bummer. That wasn't so useful to him. No part of him came close to having Scandinavian blood. "I see. Well, you guys are lucky. I bet if I walk next to you it would look weird.'' With that he pictured that in his head. It would be like walking next to a giant. Sort of.
"Hiya, Bart! You can call me Adi.'' He'd sort of given up stating his full name to people he met now. Adi was what they'd be calling him all the time, anyway. "So, what's up? You liking it so far here?'' He knew Bart had only been here shortly but he probably formed an opinion about certain things by now.
The second year considered Tobias's reply as he looked at him. Hmmm. Okay. He'd go along with it though he figured something was bothering the third year but if he didn't want to talk about it, who was Adi to force him? He laughed. He supposed Tobias had started his tradition of bringing a pogo stick to Hogwarts now. "Maybe you can convince Hadley to do a class on pogo sticks,'' Adi suggested jokingly. He set about laughing again as he watched Tobias try to decide what to start gobbling down. Honestly, he felt like gobbling down a whole lot of food himself. He'd start with chicken. As he chewed, he studied Tobias again. Yep. Something definitely was up. He swallowed and answered ''Nah. Just been at home most of the time.'' He took another bite of his chicken thinking he won't go overboard with telling everyone about his guitar lessons. It would sound like he was showing off or something.
''Yes, Diagon Alley was extra fun this year because of that pet adoption.'' He considered showing Ella Gus who was safely hidden away in his robes but would she freak out? But then again she interned at the Magical Menagerie so maybe she wasn't? "That sounds like fun! I was supposed to go there to get a pet,'' Adi told her. "But the adoption thingy...Do you like toads, Ella?''
''Well, I can tell you my opinion about some of them, Bri,'' Adi said. He took a bite of his chicken, chewed and swallowed. "Most of them are really great but I don't really like Arithmancy and Divination.'' Mainly because he disliked Professor French and Divination seemed to involve guesswork. "Ancient Runes may sound boring but you'd be surprised! Muggle studies too. Are you muggleborn or half blood, by the way?'' Then it might be a bit boring for her.
Adi laughed. Yes, that was true. They sometimes did not listen to their parents. Ah, stubbornness. Eh? What was that? Adi felt the heat rush to his face. Eh again. Was he red? He never turned red before. "Am I turning red?'' he asked Kace urgently and hoping to distract his friend. Yes, he had seen Sophie looking so pretty over at the Slytherin table.
"Maybe you will, Leah. You never know.'' Adi grinned. He never really thought much about having a badge but it would be cool to have one. "Nah. I didn't try out last year. I'm not sure about this year either. What about you? Gonna try out?''
"I will if you can make them for me, Hazel eyes,'' Adi said as he felt his robes. Gus seemed to be impatient. Adi guessed they won't be here much longer so then Gus could go back into his carrier. He turned his attention back to Hazel. "Yep. At Diagon Alley summer before the last.'' That had been pretty cool beating those older people. Did she say non existent? "I didn't know there was even a contest like that. How do you win that?'' he asked quite intrigued.
Marigold giggled. "Not weird at all. I enjoy most of my classes, and the rest I like because of the teachers," she said. With the exception of Professor French last year.
Bri glanced over at the staff table before turning back to Marigold. "Can you tell me each of the teacher's name and what the class they teach. Only if you want too." Bri asked.
Text Cut: Hazel!
"Hi, Bri. Are you enjoying Hogwarts? Or, at least, what you know about it?" Hazel said to the firstie. She didn't seem shy, but not too overly outgoing either. Just right. "I'm really excited for classes too!" It was so exciting to be back at school.
The young brunette smiled before answering "Yes, I am. It so beautiful. I can't wait to explore the castle, more. I probably going to get lost a lot though." Bri said with a laugh.
Text Cut: Alec
Alec smiles at the girl. "Forgetting the person's name isn't a bad thing, yeah? I... don't remember the name of the person who came to talk to me," Shrug. And weird things happening when she was seven? The smile on the seventh year's face only grew as he heard that. "I... yeah! I bet it was. All that confusion must have been really... weird on you and your family." Understood, he did.
The girl was talking more, did she know? Not that the older Hufflepuff have any complaints. He was more... relieved. Yeah. "I... yeah! It's exactly like that. And you don't know what you're good at unless... unless you give it a shot," See, now she had something o compare it to, yeah? Less frightening. "There are extra-curricular activities here, too. Quidditch and Gobstones... and a bunch of others. It's not a bad idea to give any of them a go." Hint hint.
Bri grinned and nodded in agreement with Alec with everything he was saying. "I've heard of Quidditch! It sounds like tons of fun. I always love sports, and I can't wait to learn how to play. I don't know about Gobstones though, what is it?" The brunette asked, curious about wizard games.
Text Cut: Laura & Tessa
Bri grinned "I am doing just fine!" The brunette said happily "The train ride was fun, I meet some very nice people." She smiled at Tessa.
" Hi Tessa! I remember. I arrived it just fine. The boat ride was fun, and when I first was the Castle... Gorgeous!" Bri beamed. " I am really enjoying everything so far. I have meet so many people, and I can't wait to explore the castle, and for classes to start."
Text Cut: Adeline!
Bri grinned, Adeline seemed to be a very nice girl. "I am, being a muggleborn, all this stuff is so new and it is a little overwhelming, but I am sure I will get used to it all, soon." Bri said happily. "I haven't seen much of the castle, but I am so amazed by it. I can't wait to explore more of it."
Text Cut: Kace
"Yup i am!" he said happily back. "Oh you do? I love Florida! i love going on vacations there and plus i heard it it always warm there." he told Bri. Well his parents always told him because they went there a lot. "Oh Kansas? Well it is in the middle you are right." he said confirming her question. "But there is a lot of open land and plus i live on a farm. So i just help my mom and grandma with what they need to do like feed the chickens, ride the horses...that kind of thing."
"You live on a farm?" Bri asked happily "Is it fun? I always want to visit a farm. I love animals, especially horses. I have ridden a horse before, but that was at a fair, never for real, though." She said softly.

Bri listened as he talked about some of the classes. The more she heard about classes the more she couldn't wait till they started. "I am looking forward to Muggle Studies, even though I am a muggle, it might be fun learning about muggles from a different point of view." Bri explained , hoping it made sense.
When his cousin got busy with her other first year peeps, Noel had quietly slipped away from the Ravenclaw table and made his way to the Hufflepuff table.
He did not want to. But he had to. That is what his mother would say.
HMPF.
Slowly slipping into his seat, the twelve year old filled his plate with food - busy with his thoughts. Maybe if he got too sad, they would re-sort him to Gryffindor?
Maybe he could pretend he was allergic to badgers?
*Romulus shrugged and figured that she must be right. Jacen never acted like he missed having him around once he left school. Taking another drink from his tea he looked around at all the food. He still wasn't very hungry. His parents not showing up to see him off still bothered him.*
"So... what did your friend and their mum tell you about magic?"

Blegh.
Bri noticed a boy sitting at the table eating by himself. He looked a bit sad so, she got up and slid in across from him. "Hello. I'm Bri... Nice to meet you." The young brunette said brightly.

Turning to the girl, who was introducing herself to him - Noel smiled. Waho. Food was turning him a little pleasant too.

Bart heard him yell and should feel bad but he really didn’t. His grin proved otherwise. He wasn’t at all sorry after the punch in the face from the boy at the bookstore. “I wasn’t aware you knew anything that wasn’t out of a book, because it seemed this summer that’s all you did was sit in a corner and read.” and was he just saying Wade was smarter than him, huh. If book boy would meet Wade’s girlfriend he would know that Wade wasn’t smart in all areas. “He’s my step brother and I am polite to people that deserve it, you do not deserve it.” He moved away from the boy, but turned and smirked “How’s the nose?” He had gotten a good punch in too this summer he didn’t forget.
Ian decided he wasn't going to be goaded into another confrontation, even though he was surrounded by housemates. He didn't want to lost points the first day. Listen, you puffed up little git! Just because you got a lucky punch in doesn't mean that it greatly impacted my life. I hope that it makes you feel better that you did that, because it doesn't make me feel any better to have dealt with you that way. I suggest now that you are done being an errand boy for your brother, I suggest you head back to your table.

"It's a good story, though. I bet we'll look back on this one day and laugh." Did she actually know if she would talk to this kid lots in the future? Nope. She did hope that it would at least earn her a smile, though. Especially after that little incident.
Taking his hand, Ella smiled and shook it gently before releasing it. "Nice to meet you properly, Ian." Because she'd seen him around too but they'd never actually talked, yeah? "Keeping to yourself isn't necessarily bad but it is nice to get out there and meet your housemates." So in a way, she agreed with Tinker boy's mom. "And hey, now you can tell her about meeting me...though I'd leave out the choking bit, yeah?" Grin!
He nodded. Yes, it does seem like it will be a good story. At least I have something I can write home to mum about. I appreciate you taking some time with me. It helps me to feel a little better about being here this year.
Her presence did make him feel better and his confidence was boosted when she shook his hand. He wasn't sure that they'd be great mates, but he was glad that he felt comfortable enough that he might have someone to go to for advice. Thank you.... he began and then realized he didn't know her name. I'm sorry. If you told me your name, I seem to have forgotten it. It's been a bit of an overwhelming day.
Leah always found comfort when older students said that they felt the same way when they were firsties. Sometimes she couldn't help but feeling that she was the weird one. "Can I call you Mari? It sounds nice and short, you know." Leah asked, feeling much better.
"I knew you were." Leah nodded sheepishly. "Did you do any magic back at your home before? Like, accidentally using your magic powers without knowing it?" The girl asked. "I'm sure all of us here have, and it would have been really weird if your parents are muggles." Leah was always curious about this.
"You don't need to be sorry," Leah said, shrugging. She was fine, why would Hazel be sorry? "Shoe brands?" Leah asked, almost automatically looking down at her feet. She was wearing black boots today. She wanted to wear pink (her favorite color) but her mum said that it would be too attention-seeking, even conspicuous. "I don't know much about shoe brands," Leah said honestly.
Leah scanned the girl for a swift moment unnoticeably. "Hi Haruka. Are you Asian?" Leah asked Haruka the question in her mind. "Cuz your name uh... sounds like one. Sorry if you're not, though." Making a foreign, even an Asian friend seemed nice, and Leah was excited to hear the answer.
Leah waved back at Tobias, registering his name and face into her mind at the same time. "Hiya Toby. Thanks for the congratulations." That was not the first time a Hufflepuff said that to her. "I love Hogwarts, it's so brilliant, though I haven't seen the rest of the school yet. I'm really looking forward to it." The girl paused for a moment, taking in her surroundings. "So um, what classes are there at Hogwarts? I've heard of some basic ones like Charms and Herbology, what else?"
"Hello, Dylan. I hope I didn't interrupt you guys talking." Leah said. Hmm, second year. "Are there any special events this year? I heard last year there was the er... European thingy?" She was hoping very much that they would have an event in her first year, but it did not matter if there wasn't.
"Teeheehee, it's okay, I was over excited too." Leah glanced around at the 'guys with badges'. "Yeah, cool. Hope I get a badge too." The first year said, sighing. "Speaking of Quidditch, are you on the Quidditch team?" Leah asked.
Third year. He looked like one, too. "Cuteness charm? What's that supposed to mean?" Leah could not understand that bit. "Oh, so... you don't play Quidditch now?"
"LEAH!" Hawthorne yelled as she ran from the stage and tot he Hufflepuff table. "We're in the same house! That means we'll be in the same dorm, how cool is that!?" she sat down.

Marigold grinned at Kace. "Of course people want to meet you!" Only a slight blush appeared on her cheeks. "There are so many people here! It seems like there are a bazillion firsties, doesn't it?" she asked. Then she laughed with his last sentence. And hugged him again.

Marigold REALLY liked Ella 'cause of niceness and that stuff. She was a quintessential Hufflepuff, really, with all the loyalty and hard work. There was no better Head Girl, honestly. BUT SHE WAS LEAVING AFTER THIS YeAR NOOOOOO. She took a breath and stopped spazzing out enough to reply to Ella.
"Yeah! I would really like to hang out with you sometime," she said a bit awkwardly. She was an awkward person, okay? *flails*
Marigold blushed a little. "Don't expect me to be any good. I've, umm.. actually, never played Quidditch. But I want to try!" she said, excited again.

"Hey, Tobes!" GRIN! It was really good to see him smiling. He had a nice smile, Tobias did. The kind that lit up a room. Plus she was relieved that he didn't look too sad considering Forrest things. Ella was dealing with those too and she knew he was probably a bit sad deep down. Best to keep his spirits up and stuff. She was going to try, anyway.
"Nice of you to grace us all with your presence, then." He got a nudge back too and an amused smile. "Your hair is getting long, y'know. I like it like this." And she set to work pulling at a strand gently, not considering this might be an invasion of space. Just checking out the locks, yo. Nothing to see here.
Tobias gave a little giggle and nodded. He liked talking to Ella, and spending time with her when he could. He was particularly looking forward to going out running with her every now any then, now they were both at Hogwarts again and had the entire grounds.
He didn't bat an eyelid when Ella reached for his hair. In fact it always felt quite soothing, having his hair fiddled with. Tobias smiled again, but refrained from nodding. "Thanks," he replied, stopping his tapping momentarily to trace the aged marks on the wood of the tabletop. "I like it too. I just didn't get it cut when I went home, and it turned out alright."
More than alright. In fact, Toby quite enjoyed making it look perfectly windswept. It was a pretty good look.
The younger Hufflepuff opened his mouth to say something else when he finally noticed it. The glint of the badge had caught his eye, but something was... different? Tobias furrowed his brow thoughtfully. "What's that badge you're wearing?" he asked, even though he could actually see it and knew exactly what it was. Just, y'know, CHECKING.

"Sweet," Tobias nodded. Cool. It was good when loads of people tried out. Tryouts were sort of stressful, because it was all about making it on to the team, which pretty much defined the rest of his year, but all in all they were really fun. "Thanks! We were pretty good, yeah," he agreed, thinking back to all the matches. His last one hadn't ended brilliantly what with injury, but they'd still gone and won, hadn't they. His spirits soared at the thought.
And then kind of dropped a bit. Last year hadn't he and Forrest played awesomely together in that game they both played Chaser? It saddened Toby to realise that that was another situation in which he'd notice Forrest's absence, but that wasn't Kace's fault, so he smiled and went on. "Yeah sure, maybe. I was thinking of trying out for Keeper again, although Chaser was pretty fun. But I've never tried being a Beater before. But it all depends, really." On the captain's decision about the rosters and if they even made it on to the team. The last thing Tobias wanted to do was assume he had a place when everything could change each year.
And really, Toby? Beater? YOU? Ha.

Well, if this new girl was happy with Hogwarts, then so was Toby. "It's a brilliant place. Lots of stairs though. A hundred and forty two staircases here," he added, before spearing a roast potato with his fork, ready to eat it. "And take my advice. Don't try to pogo up or down the stairs."
Ahem.
As Leah went on, Tobias pushed the roast potato into his mouth so he could listen AND eat. See? Boys could totally multitask. But then she'd stopped talking and he was required to respond but there was still a roast potato IN HIS MOUTH, so Tobias had to finish eating it as quickly as he could, whilst vividly aware of quite how hot the food was. When he'd finally swallowed it, the Hufflepuff took a moment to sort of breathe again before answering.
"Well, it's not just practical magic," he started, taking a sip of pumpkin juice from his goblet to cool down his mouth. "There's stuff like Astronomy with Airey, which is all about stars and planets and stuff. It's really cool. Then there's Ancient Runes, Professor Botros teaches that, and he's awesome." That pretty much covered his favourite subjects, and he was a little too hungry to try and remember all the others. "And stuff like History of Magic... oh, and Defence Against the Dark Arts is pretty interesting. There's all sorts." He wasn't really sure if Leah knew about magic already or not. Didn't know how much detail he was really supposed to go into.
And... hold on... how long exactly had it been since Toby last spoke about-
"D'you think you're gonna sign up for Quidditch?"
Uhhh... never mind.

"Last year? You're crazy, man," she said in response to his OWLs prep. Geez, was she behind on her studies? Oopsie daisy.
"Quidditch does seem to make up your life mostly, doesn't it?" she asked with a smile.
hAHA WHAT. What even. Tobias giggled a little at Marigold's antics just as she did, shaking his head at her. What was it about the current class of third years... they had their fair share of total maniacs.
"Mhmm. That's what most people say," Toby nodded, grinning again. It wasn't true, of course. Nobody really told him he was crazy. Mostly just funny... or cute... But that wasn't the point. "But yeaahhhhh. Quidditch is, like... everything."
Aaaaaaaaaaand cue glazed look. Because it was true. Quidditch was Toby's main interest. He honestly loved it so much. "Are you gonna try out for the team this year?" he asked Marihold hopefully.

No Quidditch," Unless you lived in a remote area away from Muggles or... or were part of summer Quiddith teams. "It'll be great to be back up and flying again."
"Really?" Flamsteed pogo-ing around... the image wasn't hard to picture. No. "Maybe you two could... form a team. Team Pogo." Pause. "... Or something more original," Boom? Stars went boom, right? No? ... Probably not. "Yeah... it's nice that you're sharing your pogo. I bet Flamsteed appreciates it." He would someone shared a pogo stick with him. Did he know how to pogo? ... Well... no, but it's the thought that counts.
"Oh, for sure!" Tobias nodded eagerly. He was super excited to go out and fly. Was already planning on when to get out there. "I've been servicing my broom all summer, and clipping the tail twigs and everything. I did some reading and apparently if you clip them just right you get a better stability in the air and can make sharper turns." Well, you know, he'd had a lot of free time. "I'm thinking about going out tomorrow before lessons." 'Cause Tobias was still one of those morning people.
Team Pogo, hmmm? Tobias looked thoughtful at that, staring back up at the staff table. He could totally see them as Team Pogo. "Or Team Awesome," Toby added out loud, looking back to Alec with a grin. And then he nodded again, with conviction. Now he also couldn't wait to go out and pogo again, though that would obviously come AFTER the flying. Flying took precedence.
Tobias continued tapping distractedly on the table when a sudden glint caught his eye. A glint from Alec's robes. "Ooh, what's that?" he asked suddenly, pointing at the shiny. "Are you a prefect now?" It was kinda hard to tell from this distance, because the badge was so small. But Toby was pretty sure it was a student leader badge.

Once he'd piled a bunch of vegetables and things onto his plate, Tobias looked up at Adi again, and at the chicken he was eating. But only briefly at the chicken. He didn't have any on his own plate.
A class on pogo sticks? REALLY? Now there was an idea. "Y'know," Tobias began, stabbing at carrots, potatoes and peas with his fork. "You might be onto something there." Now THAT would be a class he could ace. Maybe. HmmMMM.
Toby nodded when Adi mentioned staying at home for most of the summer. "Same here actually," he shrugged. No big. NO BIG. "You looking forward to being back at school?"
Because HE was for sure. All those grounds. Sure, his grandmother's house was kinda big, but nothing on this scale. At least here he could, metaphorically speaking, go wild.

Um. "Excited?" He found himself saying.
Bri grinned. "I am! This is all new and very exciting for me! I can't wait to start learning about everything. How about you?" The girl asked, cheerfully, as she picked up a goblet to drink, she was real thirsty.

"Well, there are a lot of new teachers that I don't know. But Professor Flamsteed is Astronomy, Romanos is DADA, Hadley is Muggle Studies... do you want me to keep going?" she asked curiously.
Bri listened carefully as the other girl listed off some of the professors names and their classes. She shook her head and said "Nah. If you don't know any of the others, that is ok. I will learn them soon enough." She said smiling
Marigold nodded at Hazel's reasoning. "I just get hungry easily on trips, so I had to buy a snack. Maybe on the train ride back I'll show you the food trolley?" she said, making it sound like a question. "I had some chocolate frogs. They are a weakness for me." Whoops. But Marigold dug the last one out of her pocket and put it on the table in front of Hazel. Plus, the speech had just been made, so the food appeared. "Happy eating!"
Marigold immediately felt MORE embarrassed. "No! Sorry. I was just thinking. Not about you! I mean, yes, but I was thinking about how expensive Hogwarts must be... sorry Annalee!" She said all of this in one uninterrupted stream of words. She then immediately hugged the girl. Resident spaz, over here.
Marigold smiled as the girl took the seat next to her. She knew that the Hufflepuff table in particular was crowded, so the other girl was lucky that there was even a little space near Marigold.
Hazel eagerly jumped on Marigold's offer. "If, you would, then that would be super cool! Thanks!" That was smart to leave one for later. Even if it wasn't on purpose. The food appeared in front of her and she grinned. "FOOD!" Yes, it wouldn't take long to get used to Hogwarts again.

"Oh well the cuteness charm? You never heard of it? Every first year has one." he told her. "I am sure you will find it this year." he assured her. "I found mine when i first came here not even a week in." he chuckled and remember how everyone found him so cute.

Kace turned around and noticed another puff was introducing herself. "Hey Hazel! I am Kace nice to meet you. I am a third year."
SPOILER!!: Tag :3
Kace nodded. "It does make sense, i mean i was soo short in my first year and then i had like a growth spurt overnight. It is really weird...but in a good way! I mean boys are supposed to be tall." he smiled to Tag. "Just like us."
"Yes manly food for men!" Kace agreed with him. "Have you ever traveled before and tried different foods?" he asked him curiously.
"Yeah i am. I mean i guess there is gonna be so much in store. Do you remember your third year?" he asked the older puff curiously. He wanted to know what other people experienced when they were his age.
Hazel was grateful the boy was talking to her. "Hi, Kace. That's a cool name. It's fun to say," she told him. So he was a third year? "Is second year much harder then first year?" He would know. After all, this was his situation last term. But he probably knew a lot more. Or so she assumed. "Do you have any siblings here?" Maybe she could meet them too, but Kace had enough personality to make up for if he didn't have a sibling. Also, she knew how it was to always be in the shadow of a sibling. But he didn't seem to be the in-the-shadow kind of kid, so she made a guess he was the oldest. She loved guessing.

"I will make them for you! I'm not the best cook, but you'd get the gist,"
she told Adi, a grin on her face. Adi just made her happy. And he was impressively good at eating pies. "I kind of just made up the amazing nonexistent watermelon-eating contest, but if there was a contest like that that I was there for, I'd totally get the prize! I am the queen of watermelons!" It just wasn't possible to keep a straight face, even if things weren't funny. Everything was just so happy here!

"Ancient Runes may sound boring but you'd be surprised! Muggle studies too. Are you muggleborn or half blood, by the way?'' Then it might be a bit boring for her.
Bri listened as he talked about some of the classes. The more she heard about classes the more she couldn't wait till they started. "I am looking forward to Muggle Studies, even though I am a muggle, it might be fun learning about muggles from a different point of view." Bri explained, hoping it made sense.
Hogwarts was beautiful. Sometimes it takes a firstie to remind Hazel of that. She took a piece of chicken and took a bite. Yum, Hogwarts food! "I got lost everywhere for the first few weeks, but you'll get used to it. Mmmm, have you tried this chicken? It's fantastic!"
"Well, honestly not that much... I only know a couple spells, so..." She shrugged and pulled her wand out, giving it a small flick, "Just small things like this." She gave a small flick and her eyes went from their dark brown to a light pink, "Or, I know how to levitate smaller things." Anna gave a small nod, "But that's about it." She knew that was probably idiotic for someone her age to only know three or four spells... but she didn't really have anyway to learn before.

Aaaaaaaaaaand cue glazed look. Because it was true. Quidditch was Toby's main interest. He honestly loved it so much. "Are you gonna try out for the team this year?" he asked Marihold hopefully.
Marigold was being crazy and spazzy and just overall giggly. At least she wasn't being very awkward anymore!
"Are you going to try out for the Under 17 team?" Marigold asked. She knew about the older student on that Quidditch team, and she knew that Toby probably had the skills to play on it. GO TOBYYYY!!
Marigold grinned at Toby. "I am going to try out probably - but I've never played before, so don't expect anything!" she said.

Marigold yawned behind her hand. Nothing Bri was saying was boring, but she was tired. "I know more, its just there are SO MANY TEACHERS." Like, so many. For all the classes. Yep, she was tired.

Marigold just laughed. Hazel seemed to really like food, and she couldn't blame her. Hogwarts's food was the absolute BEST.
