The Badgers sit under a brand new gold and black banner representing their house. Their solid, shiny wooden table is nicely polished with all the place settings perfectly set. It was once said that the Hogwarts House Elves are the best in the world. It is up to your stomach to agree... but surely it will! Why wouldn't it like elf cooking?
If you're thirsty, there is also fresh pumpkin juice and water on the table, regardless of whether or not it is actually mealtime.

Pulling out his notes from his pocket once more, Ben realized the next and final step might need just a tad more concentration and stability. He would, afterall be actually carving into the stone with the spell. So he gave in and sat down once more, slipping his legs around so he was facing the table and his work before laying out the parchment with both the spellwork that he needed and the design he had come up with.
A crescent moon with the opening on the right side. The original design he had seen in the book had been a bit more intricate but the Gryffindor just wasn't sure he could get it that way. His spellwork wasn't that delicate and finely toned for all the small little lines and such within the overall outer shape. So he was keeping it simple to avoid too many mistakes and having it turn out yucky overall. Hopefully he wasn't penalized for that but he was only a second year. He couldn't do what an older student could do.
Taking a deep breath, he prepared himself for the task, finally moving his free hand to hold the stone diamond in place on the edges so it didn't move as he worked. "Intaglio..."he finally cast, pressing the wand tip to the surface of the stone and imagining the image strong in his mind. His wand moving along the surface with his guiddance into the shape he watched from the parchment. It was slow going but when Ben had finally allowed one end of the mark to meet the other end closing it all off he had a nice crescent shape upon his stone.

If someone was going to tell her something, they would .. well, that was her opinion on the matter. The reality of it might have been a little different.
Oh, yay, she did get hugs. "I was hoping you'd say that," Bliss said, right before she was wrapped up in Theo's arms. It was nice here .. could they stay like this for a little bit? Resting her head against him, she half-whispered, "I really did miss you, you know?" Just in case he wasn't 1000% sure by now. After what Bliss assumed was an appropriate amount of time, she leaned back out of the hug and smiled up at Theo. "You can add 'giving hugs' to list of things you're amazing at," she informed him.
Hm. She'd never seen him seem at all ... shy. It was sort of intriguing ...
Ahem. What. She forced her attention back to what Theo was saying. "Yesssss, really," she confirmed, trying (and failing) her very hardest not to blush. There was nothing to be blushing over, she was simply stating the truth. Only an idiot would deny how good looking Theo was ... or someone with bad taste and their opinions were invalid anyway, soooo .. yeah. Bliss giggled as well when Theo giggled. Not her fault, but those things were infectious, y'know. Giggle.
Next term? Hmmm. "Of course I am." There was absolutely no doubt about it. "Well .. I need to brush up on my skills first, I haven't played competitively in aaaaaages." She'd have time for that, though. Now that she thought about it, Quidditch was one thing she missed more than she missed some people. "Chaser? That's really great, Theodore! Congratulations!" She said proudly, grinning from ear to ear. Happiness and smiles and stuff really were contagious. "You'd better," she threatened .. teasingly? She really wanted to see Theo play outside of school. It would be a whole new atmosphere for her and a whole new experience. All in all, it would be great.
There we go, smiley smiley! "You know now." He matched her grin.
PSSHT... "Well, who cares? You were missed by the best people." IE - terror twins. What more could you want?
"Oh." He began. "So you know about the whole Dora thing." Theo finished quietly. He really didn't know where his head was when it came to Dora. There were lots of times where he thought he was over her, but whenever he actually SEES her, his head goes all funny. Mostly, he just missed being that physically involved with someone. Intimate and close moments are not something that Theo gets very often. He smiled at Bliss more confidently this time, because all-in-all, he was doing OKAY and he wasn't gonna start getting all dramatic about losing the love of his life because that really wasn't the case. Still sucked majorly, though.
The hugging lasted longer than Theo initially had expected, but he wasn't too worried about it. He wasn't used to hugging Bliss, and she smelled different up close, but it was still nice. It definitely was something he wanted to get used to, maybe... Oh, whispering. That made Theo shudder just a little, since it was right close to his ear, but he didn't make it too obvious. "Me too."
ME TOO? That's not what he was meant to have said. I missed you, too. Not ME TOO. Gah, whatever.
Aaaannd... hugging was over. Theo pulled back with a half smile, but wasn't sure where to look. "They're special since I don't hug much." He informed her before chuckling to himself. Actually he hugged a lot more lately than he used to. Mostly West.
Heeeeehe... this was getting a little awkward, Theo could feel it, so he looked away and subconsciously ran a hand through his hair. His hair was a very important part of his life right now, you know. "Well, that's nice of you to say." Mhm.
Theo was genuinely excited to hear that Bliss would be signing up next term, he always did when people joined in with the game. It was like a little community, aside from the raging competitiveness between houses, obviously. "I'll show you a few." He winked. He had learnt a lot since joining the Under 17s team, as well as perfecting his own techniques since he spent the majority of his free time on the pitch. Theo grinned back at her at her congratulations. "Yeah, it's nice to get back to my usual position as soon as I'm done with school." He nodded again. Yes, perhaps they should get ALL their friends to come and watch. That would be awesome.

Fern spat out her porridge and tried to fish the strand from her mouth. She knew she should have tied her hair back that morning, or at least put a few clips in, but it had looked so voluminous and perfect. More perfect than normal, that is.
She had finally pulled the hair out when the owl arrived. Large and grey, it skidded to a stop before her and presented the letter in its beak with a flourish.
Fern squealed, taking the letter and ripping it open before she remembered that with a message of this importance, she should have used a letter opener. But she could worry about that mistake later, because HERE AT LAST WAS HER REPLY! It would explain everything! Why he hadn't been able to make it. How he was sorry and wanted her to come with them on the road this summer to make up for it. The 12-year-old mouthed out the words as she read:

With a wail, the Hufflepuff crumpled up the envelope, letter, and picture. She wanted her cousin. She needed her cousin. She needed Tallulah to hug her and tell her everything was okay. Crumpled parchment and picture still in hand, Fern scrambled out of her seat, tripped, and went running out of the great hall.

Hungry, he was.
Having spent the majority of the past hour trying to study Divination -- trying -- Alec made his way into the Great Hall and over towards the Hufflepuff table. His bag was still swinging by his side because the idea of dropping it off in his dorm and then coming up here for dinner and then heading back to the common room sounded... well... it sounded like it required too much walking and energy, something the boy didn't have or want to do. So... he had headed here straight away instead. From the library.
Setting his bag down on an empty seat on the bench, the eighteen year old sat down wiggling as he did so. Comfort, you know. With that down, his grey-blue eyes glanced around at the items on the table. Food... food... there was some lasagne nearby. Would that be good enough? He hoped so. Pulling that closer towards him, he cut off a slice and placed it onto his plate. Good.
Nom nom nom... where small hints of tomato ended up on the corner of his lips... nom nom nom...

The end of term sure seem to be coming faster than the seventh year could run these days. Asher did not like this one bit. Could he not go back to his first year? Well maybe not that far back. Third? Fourth maybe? Nah he would just take being a seventh year with only a few weeks left. He could manage. But still it was a bit unsettling to know that his time here was soon ending. Frown

He used this opportunity to pour himself and the Slytherin some pumpkin juice. "Really?" GRIN. "I'm glad I'm your second best." Really really. And he knew that the girlfriend had to come first. The Slytherin looked up what was so funny? He really wanted to know. He looked around trying to find the source of Summers laughing.... What was that? Did Summers just snort? Now that was funny Asher laughed and snorted himself hehe. "Yeah, I'm very hungry. " he nodded. Yep yep. And the fact that it was his favorite food, did have a thing to do with it. At all.
