Smiling back at the boy who looked rather confused, Lux decided to explain herself. "You said something was the best, so I asked what you were talking about." Maybe she was being nosy if he was talking to himself - which he seemed to have been - but she had been curious and couldn't resist asking.

Looking at his hand as he extended it, she saw the green nails and raised her brow before taking it in hers and shaking it. "Nice to meet you, Donny. I am Lux. But you can call me Cucumber or Ariel." She was also Little Lux, but only Elodie could call her that, because Elodie was really cool.

Louis turned his blue-eyed gaze in Delilah's direction as the girl dared him to guess which House she belonged to. Hmmm. He examined her for a moment. He wasn't extremely familiar with the differences between one House and another, but he'd heard enough about them to make his own ideas. For example, he'd been told he should be honored to have been sorted into Gryffindor, because they were supposed to be brave. The boy wouldn't list 'brave' as a word to describe himself by, and though he did consider the girl beside him rather daring after the whole stair-hopping situation, he figured if she was a Gryffindor he would've met her weeks ago already.

So, definitely not a Gryffindor.
Perhaps Slytherin? They were supposed to be sly and cunning, and that didn't sound much like Delilah either. Soooo... Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.

"Raven...claw?" he guessed weakly, eyes narrowed. But he still wasn't sure. If she was a Ravenclaw he had a feeling she would've probably figured a way out of the stairs quicker than they did. "Actually-- is it too late to change my answer? I'd rather bet on Hufflepuff." Yeah, Hufflepuff seemed more fitting.

And then it was Delilah's turn to guess. The boy smiled as she came to the conclusion that he had to be either a Gryffindor or a Ravenclaw. That just confirmed that she wasn't a Ravenclaw - had she been, she would've known he wasn't. Wow he was so clever, he SHOULD have been sorted to Ravenclaw. "It's one of those two, yes."

Delilah grinned widely as they entered the Great Hall. She could smell fooood! Oh, goody. She hadn't eaten since morning and all the studying had made her feel more hungry than usual.

Did he just say Ravenclaw? The Hufflepuff gave a small laugh and turned to look at him. As much as she liked to think that she was extremely intelligent and had secretly been hoping for Ravenclaw before the sorting.. she really wasn't. Heh. And then he suddenly changed his mind and gave the correct answer. Delilah nodded with a grin. "I'm a Hufflepuff, yes." And in all fairness, she really did love her house.

.... DISTRACTION. The smell of delicious food was distracting. Couldn't they eat first and talk later? Sigh. She couldn't very well say that, though. It would be rude.

Wait. What? One of those two? Delilah narrowed her eyes at him slightly before the corners of her lips lifted up in a little smirk. "What if I guess correctly? Do I get a present?" She was just teasing him a little......

..... Or maybe not.

Louis grinned triumphantly when Delilah confessed that she was, indeed, a Hufflepuff. HA. He was a pro at this guessing game. Brownie points for the new boy?

Then Delilah was talking about presents as the two kids walked in the direction of the Hufflepuff House table. "A present?" repeated Louis with a raised eyebrow. Where was he supposed to find a present for her?! Did giving her one of the elf-made pies on the table count? Well, everyone could have those...

"Well if we're giving presents for guessing, shouldn't I be getting one too? I did make the first right guess," he said as he sat across from his new friend at the table.

Delilah sat at her table and immediately picked up a delicious-looking cookie from one of the plates. "Well, yeah. A present.." She said, nodding seriously. "Flowers, maybe? I absolutely love them." She finished eating it before picking up another one. Louis probably thought she hadn't eaten in days but she didn't care. The girl was hungry. "Deal?"

... Oh, right! Of course. Good one, pretty boy. "What do you want? Food? A book? Socks? Kisses?" The last one was a joke, obviously. But, yes. She definitely could give him a present. Whatever he wanted.. as long as it was reasonable.

Darn. These cookies were just SO GOOD. "You can have one too, Lou." Lou! Cool nickname, yeah? She liked it.

Louis watched as Delilah grabbed a cookie and suggested he get her flowers. “Alright, that’s fair,” the boy agreed with a nod. “What kind of flowers do you like?” Roses? Tulips? Lilies? The options were endless.

Louis listened as the Hufflepuff then began to suggest a list of things she could present to him as gifts.
Food? Well that wouldn't be very exciting. They were surrounded by food right now! Books? Louis enjoyed a good read, sure. Socks? A boy can never have too many socks. Kisses? ... Wait, did she say kisses? Louis's large blue eyes lit up. Welllllll! That’s one gift idea he could get behind.

The Gryffindor grabbed a cookie as Delilah informed him they weren’t off-limits, then going on to grant him a new nickname. Lou, huh? He liked it. Most of his friends back at home called him that. It was nice to hear it in this new environment too… SO ANYWAY. Back to the presents!

“I don’t know, Delilah, all the options are so tempting. I mean, socks or kisses? How am I supposed to choose?” said Louis with mock concern before laughing lightly. “But since you offered, I think I can’t reject a free kiss. Here, perhaps?” He turned his face slightly sideways, indicating for Delilah to place a kiss on his exposed cheek.

Yeah, maybe transferring from the all-boys’ school hadn’t been a bad idea at all.

Delilah beamed when Louis agreed to get her flowers. Awesome, her day was made! She grabbed another cookie, her grey-blue eyes shifting up to look at the boy sitting across from her. "Roses are my favourite but I'm not that picky, really. I love all flowers." Who didn't? They were so pretty and smelled so wonderful.

She watched the boy take a cookie from the plate. "You better take as many as you want or I'll finish eating them soon." GRIN. She nibbled on her cookie for a moment before eyeing him curiously. "You don't mind me calling you Lou, right? You can give me a nickname too, if you want." She didn't mind, really. People had a lot of nicknames for her by now so she was used to it.

... Kisses. Ooops. She really shouldn't have said it. Because now he wanted a kiss. Of course. He's a BOY, what else could she have expected? Delilah stared at him for a moment. He wanted a kiss NOW!? In front of all the people?

The blonde looked around for a bit, blushing even more. Oh, GOSH. She stood up and leaned over the table, hoping against hope he didn't do something stupid.. like turning his face so that her lips would meet his. He'd totally get hexed if that happened.

"No, Lou's fine," said Louis with a smile as Delilah asked him about the new nickname. When she shared that he could give her a nickname too, his expression turned more thoughtful, brows furrowing. HMM. He'd never given someone a nickname before. At least not intentionally. Nicknames usually just happened. "What about Lilah?"

And then the blonde was sharing what her favourite flowers were. "Roses. Got it," muttered Louis as he made a mental note of it. Those should be easy enough to find. BUT. There was still something missing. "You still haven't guessed my House, y'know," the Gryffindor pointed out with raised eyebrows as he snatched another cookie looking ever so mysterious. So which will it be, Delilah? Ravenclaw? Or Gryffindor? Only the right answer will get you a reward!

Louis, meanwhile, had already guaranteed himself his 'prize' for guessing correctly. He tried not to laugh when Delilah warily leaned over the table to kiss his cheek. The idea of turning his head at the last minute DID cross his mind for a brief 0.5 seconds. But Louis was a good boy, and though he did find Delilah very pleasing to the eyes, he had no intentions of snogging her or anything like that. She was his friend.

Lou. Short and sweeeet. Delilah winked at him before picking up another cookie... but dropping it back on the plate. She'd had enough for a week. "Lilah?" Oh. Not that she didn't like the nickname but Lex was the only person who called her that.. Maybe she help him out by coming up with another nickname. Um. "How about Della? No one calls me that." .. And she kind of did like it. Unless he just wanted to call her Delilah. That would be okay too.

Roses! Delilah grinned and looked down at the remaining cookies. No. She shouldn't eat any more. Nope. Oh, yeah. She still had to guess his house if she wanted those flowers. Hmm. Delilah looked at him thoughtfully for a few moments. "I'm going to go with Ra------ No. Gryffindor. I'll go with Gryffindor." He kind of seemed like a Ravenclaw too but.. Meh. She really hoped her guess was right.

Oh GOSH. This was beyond terrifying. What if someone saw this? Especially a professor!? She'd be in trouble forever and probably end up losing a hundred points for her house too. Delilah quickly kissed him on the cheek and sat back down, her face flaming red now. Kissing a boy in public was something she'd never done before. Even if it was just a cheek!kiss. "That was a good kiss, even if I say so. You happy now?"

.... He better be.

"Della?" Louis Lou repeated with furrowed brows. No. He didn't like that one much. "Sounds a bit odd. Would you ever talk to someone named Della?" Okay okay. At least she'd tried. UM. "What about just 'D'?" That's as short as you can get. And he liked it. Just D.

Now Delilah/Della/D was finally guessing Lou's House. Aaand... "That's correct," he confessed with a grin. "Guess I owe you roses after all." Now he just had to figure out where he was going to find those, because his transfiguration skills weren't quite good enough to transform one of those cookies into a rose just yet.

Aaaand then Delilah was kissing him. On the cheek. Lou seemed satisfied that the girl had kept her word, and when she commented on it being a good kiss, he chuckled. "Oh yeah, that was an expert kiss to the cheek. Never had one like it," he teased. 'Cause honestly, how different could one kiss be from another when it was so brief? But that was a topic for another day. When Delilah asked if he was happy, the Gryffindor nodded his head. "Very. Thank you very much, Lady D."

"Hey!" Delilah said, looking rather offended. Yeah, so. It wasn't a great nickname but it wasn't odd either. "If one can talk to a Bella, I don't see the problem with Della to be honest." They almost sounded the same, yeah? D. It was too short but she didn't really mind. Actually, it was kind of.. cool. Delilah approved. She smiled and nodded, "I like it. D it is, then."

Heh. She was good at guessing things, apparently. Delilah beamed happily. "Yes, you do. Pink roses are my favourite." Hint hint. It wasn't that she didn't like the other colours but if he managed to get the pink ones, she'd honestly give him a hundred kisses. On the cheek, of course. Oh, wait. And hugs too.

Delilah rolled her eyes but ended up laughing. Yeah, well. She really did wonder how she'd fare in a proper kiss though... Hm. "A kiss is a kiss. You should consider yourself special, you know. I don't go around giving cheek kisses to cute boys I just meet..." ..........



.... Wait. Did she just say 'cute'!?

Louis laughed, amused as Delilah D complained about his disapproval. "But Bella is an actual name," the boy said. "Della is just... I don't know. Sounds like a pastry." He shrugged. D was way better, so it was a good thing she liked it too.

So. Pink roses. Lou nodded his head as he stored the information in his long-term memory. Which had been oddly forgetful lately, though he'd always had a great memory. Huh.

Louis raised his eyebrows when Delilah told him to consider himself special, and even went as far as to call the Gryffindor a 'cute boy'. Ooohohoho. Poor D, didn't she know? You never tell a fifteen-year-old boy that he's cute! He won't let you live that down!

"Cute boys, huh?" Lou's usual smile transformed into something a little more sinister - a smirk. "Not to worry. This 'cute boy' definitely considers himself special now. I mean, kisses and compliments? I must be a real catch," he teased.

"Pastry?" Delilah bit her lip from laughing again. She didn't want to him to think she was amused because.. she kind of was. And a little confused as well. Pastries. How? How did Della sound like a pasty? "A friend of mine calls me Deli." Which was even weirder than Della. Heh. She was used to all the weird nicknames by now though.

AHHHHHHH.

This was beyond embarrassing. She flushed slightly and ran a hand through her messy blonde hair. "Well.. it's the truth. You are not bad-looking." She tilted her head slightly and looked at him curiously, her cheeks still a little pink. "You know, I'm not a good flirt but if I was, I'd totally hit on you."

Wow. Okay. She was on a roll now. Frankly, she'd totally understand if he never wanted to talk to her again.

"Deli?!" HAHAHHAHAHA. Louis wasn't quite as good at hiding his laughter like Delilah was. But seriously. Deli? They were JUST talking about pastries and now she's telling him someone calls her Deli. How was he supposed to not laugh at this wonderful irony. "Why don't you open up a bakery and call it 'Della's Deli'?" Snort.

Now Louis's favourite bakery owner was throwing more compliments his way. Well, well. Not bad-looking, huh? The boy playfully fanned himself with his hand. "Whew. You're going to make me blush, D. But please, don't let that stop you from feeding my ego some more."

No, but seriously.
"Well, I'm flattered. You're not half-bad yourself. I'd even go as far as to call you 'pretty'," he said with a serious nod. Yep. 'Pretty' was a word that fit his new blonde friend well.

"Lou!" Seriously! Delilah raised an eyebrow as he laughed.. and kept laughing. "I know it's an embarrassing nickname but it really isn't THAT funny." Okay. It probably was but he was laughing at HER NAME! She could feel her cheeks starting to turn pink again. The blonde huffed and played with the ends of her hair, hoping he would just shut up already. Della's Deli? "You know, I just might and if I do, you won't ever get to eat any of my pastries."

Delilah smirked.. and that didn't happen often. "Maybe I want to see you blush. I bet you'll look pretty hot with your face all red.." Hot? At this point, she didn't even know what she was saying. Heh. The girl was surprised that he was still here..

"Thanks but.. I think 'pretty' is used way too often. How about coming up with something more creative?"

"Sorry," Louis apologized between chuckles as his laughter began to die down. He couldn't help it. It was too funny. But then she was threatening not to give him any treats when she opened her deli shop. Heyy! "That's not very fair, I was the one behind the idea! I deserve a 50% share of all profits." Yeah, 'cause this deli was totally happening.

Aaaand then D was calling him 'hot'. Well, with the condition that he blush. Honestly, she was getting close to achieving her goal, but Lou wasn't going to give her that satisfaction. "I suppose you'll have to wait for a hot summer day, then." He picked up a jug filled with pumpkin juice and began to pour it into his goblet.

The boy was just about to take a sip, but he was distracted by Delilah's complaint, his jaw dropping. Well! Look who was being picky with her compliments now!

"Alright. So not 'pretty'... alright, Lady D. You're beautiful. Drop-dead gorgeous. Alluring. Attractive. Absolutely hypnotizing." Was that good enough for the lady?

"Apology not accepted." Delilah huffed, trying to look annoyed. She really wasn't but it couldn't hurt to annoy him a bit, yeah? Not that what he did wasn't rude. It was extremely rude and she wasn't ready to forgive him just yet. "Yeah, right. You're not even getting 1% of the profits." This was hilarious, man. She couldn't cook to save her life and here they were, talking about her future in the bakery business.

... And he still wasn't blushing. Don't disappoint the girl, Louis! She gave an exaggerated sigh. "This is so not fair. I don't know what else to say or do..... " Do. Yes, Delilah could think of something but it was rather extreme and she wasn't sure if she wanted to do it either. Maybe she did. The girl wasn't sure yet.

"Hypnotizing.. Wow." Delilah secretly a little pleased ( if he didn't mean any of those compliments ) but he obviously didn't need to know that. "No one's called me that before.. but I'm glad I have that kind of an effect on you." She smirked. This conversation was so amusing.

Louis pouted when Delilah refused to accept his apology. "If I blush will you forgive me and increase my profits?" he offered. Though he couldn't just blush on command. Maybe he'd have to find something embarrassing to remember.

"Aw, boo."
The Gryffindor wasn't exactly very sympathetic for Delilah's disappointment. Nope. Sorry. "I don't think you'd be able to handle the 'hot' anyway. I'd rather spare you from it."

Now it was D's turn to get a little cocky as she expressed approval of the boy's compliments. Well, at least he'd done one thing right. "Like that one, do you?" He smiled with amusement. "It's fitting."

.... Lou was pouting! Pouting. So adorable. "I've never seen a boy pout before. It suits you." Also. His lips were rather distracting, did he know?.. AHEM. She looked up to meet his eyes, pretending like that did just not happen. "Maybe.. yes. I will. You can even be my partner, if you want. We can share the profits equally." See, she was being nice now.

"Of course, I can! Try me." Sassy!grin. She was.. yeah. Something was very much wrong with her right now.. "Besides, how does blushing make you 'hotter' exactly?" That didn't make much sense. Cuter, perhaps. But not hotter.

Fitting. Heh. Delilah raised an eyebrow, a hint of a smirk playing on her lips. "You really think so?"

Oh? Pouting suited him? Had Louis just stumbled upon a trick into getting his way with Delilah? All he had to do was pout. Nice. Well, maybe not. Now she was offering to make him partner in her deli business if he went ahead with the blushing. Bahh. Why had he suggested that?

"Fine. I'll try." Unpleasant memories, here we come. The boy was distracted when Delilah asked how blushing made him look 'hotter', and he shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know, you're the one saying I'll look hot with a red face. Maybe you meant literally hot." Well, if that had been the case he wasn't about to go and burn his face for her.

"Mmhmm." Lou nodded his head at Delilah's following question, distracting himself with a warm croissant. "So, Lady D. Besides hitting on Gryffindor boys, what else do you usually do around here?" And also besides the obvious - classes and homework.

Delilah absently picked up another cookie while she waited for Louis to start blushing... which didn't happen. SIGH. What was this boy? All she wanted was to see some colour on his face? But then again, just because she blushed easily, it didn't mean others did. Especially boys.

"Well, I was wrong. You look hot NOW but I don't know.. I'm going to have to see you blush first before I decide." Literally hot? Delilah burst out laughing. "You're such a weirdo." She started to laugh again... cause. Oh, gosh. SHE was the one acting like a weirdo. Too much coffee in the morning, perhaps. Yeah, that must be it. Although, she was having fun.

Hitting on Gryffindor boys.. Yeah, he was the only boy she'd kinda sorta flirted with until now. But, shhh. "Well, I swim. A lot actually.. and read. I love photography, too. Hang out with friends.. yeah. That's about it. You?"

Louis looked up from his delicious warm croissant, raising his eyebrows at Delilah as she told him he was hot already. Mann. "You really like this face, huh?" he asked with a chuckle. Seriously. He'd never received so many compliments all at once just for carrying his face around. He laughed lightly when the Hufflepuff girl accused him of being a weirdo and shrugged his shoulders. That was probably true.

"I'll blush for you one day, don't worry. And if you're not around, I'll take a picture of it and send it to you." Yeah, she wouldn't be missing out on any blushing that went on on Lou's face.

The boy watched Delilah with curious blue eyes as she listed the things she liked to do in her free time. "Photography?" His eyes lit up. "I love photography. There was a photography seminar going on here at the castle but by the time I heard about it it was too late. Did you go?"

"Maybe." Well, yeah. Delilah definitely did. He had a nice face with a nice smile so why wouldn't she like it?... Smile. Lips. Yeah. "I like looking at your face so yeah. Maybe, I do." She grinned before looking down at the croissant on his plate. "Now, that looks good." She was so tempted to eat one too but no. Nope. The girl wasn't on a diet or anything but too much food wasn't good either.

"What if...." The girl bit her lip before she embarrassed herself further. "Nevermind." Photography! Yes, she enjoyed it. She couldn't say that she was an expert but yeah. Her pictures were alright. It was just a hobby, anyway. She wasn't planning on becoming a professional photographer. "That's great!" Now, she liked him even more. She sighed a little and shook her head. "No, I didn't. I wanted to but I had a lot of homework to finish so I didn't have the time. It sucks that we missed it." Maybe they'd have another one? Hopefully.

Louis grinned with amusement when Delilah nearly drooled over his croissant. "Mmmmmm. It is the most delicious croissant I've ever had. Warm and tasty..." He smirked and then proceeded to finish it off in one large bite.

"What if what?" Hm?

Lou listened as D explained that she'd missed the seminar due to homework, his brows furrowing for a moment before his expression seemed to light up again. "Why don't we have a photoshoot? You can model. I'll take the pictures."

Delilah watched as the boy finished eating the croissant in one bite. Hah. Someone was hungry. "How rude. You could have offered me a bite, you know?" Nice to share and all that. Not that she would have taken a bite.. The girl kind of liked annoying him and it was great that he didn't seem to mind at all.

"Like I said.. nevermind." She didn't want to tell. Nooooo.

.... What? Delilah eyed him suspiciously for a moment before she realised he was being serious. Oh.... wow. That sounded like a brilliant idea. Brilliant. This boy just kept surprising her. In a good way, of course. Except.. "Do you think I'll make a good model?"
