He got the noticed from Alec about a surprise party for a Hufflepuff boy. What's his name again? Bobby? Dobby? No, that's a House Elf name. Toby? Right. Toby. He didn't actually know the guy but who can say no to a party? Definitely not him.

When the seventh year entered the Boys dorm, everyone were already there and it seem that they already finished decorating the dorm. And wow. The dorm look different. "Hey guys, sorry I'm late. I lost track of time." That sound like a good excuse, right?

Oh and look they got a Professor in their dorm. "Hello, Professor" he greeted her with a curt nod. "Is there anything that I can help with?" he asked the boys and the Professor. He could definitely help them eating the cake

Adi grinned at Ian. "We did a great job,'' he said as he flashed Alec a thumbs up. "You mostly.'' Because Adi had been busy blabbering to everyone. "So, is there anything else we have to do?'' He looked around. Everything seemed pretty much in place. All the needed now was a certain pogo loving guy.

Ohh! Hats! Adi hadn't worn one of those in a while! Adi waited for Kace to pass him one and when his friend did, the second year enthusiastically put it on. Now, who's gonna get Toby?

This unsuspecting Hufflepuff had eaten dinner some time ago, though it had taken him rather a long time to get back tot he boy's dorms. Usually he could wolf his food down, as he ate as quickly as he moved about in general.

But now, finally, Tobias was on his way back to the dorms. He'd gotten distracted by the way the grounds looked in the late September sun, and had gone for a pleasant stroll for a few minutes before going back to the common room to do some studying. It had been, all in all, a very pleasant birthday.

The now-fourteen-year-old had come through the common room, but found it curious that it was mostly girls in there, and not many that he knew. Still not suspected anything, Tobias walked to his dormitory with a spring in his step and a smile on his face, just generally in a good mood.

The third year opened the door to his dormitory and half-realised something was different straight away. The air... the air was different? He didn't really have time to register it before he pushed open the door and strode in.

Working with Kace was a good idea and, looking around, Alec was generally happy with how people were paired off. It hadn't been his plan to pair people off with someone slightly older than the other. And it also hadn't been his plan for people who hardly knew each other to work together either. He grinned over at Kace when they were done sticking things up.

And the boy was going to hand out party hats? Alec nodded at him and took one when it was passed to him. "Thanks, mate!" he said, strapping it on. Head Boy knew how to party.

The boy who wasn't wearing a party hat yet (Ian) got a smile in return and a hair ruffle. Because he wasn't wearing a party hat. And because hair ruffles were awesome. ... He was okay with those, right? Jordan got smiles too, even if the bag was seized a little too enthusiastically. Not that Alec minded. Instead, he looked around the room before saying, "Everything looks great, you guys! Birthday boy's going to love this!" ... Hopefully.

Messy. "Hey Messy! No need to apologise, mate. Glad you could make it," And was there anything the boy could help with? The Head Boy looked around the room before shaking his head. "No but... here. Have a party hat." And before the boy could say anything, Alec grabbed a PINK party hat and strapped it on the boy's head. There.

The sound of someone else talking made Alec turn his head away from his fellow seventh year. "I... think we're done, Adster, but good job everyone! The birthday boy..." Quick glance at his watch. "If he doesn't come in five minutes, we can get someone to co--"

But he was broken off by the door opening. Curly hair. IT WAS HIM. BIRTHDAY BOY. Were the others ready? WERE THEY? "SURPRISE!" GRIN.

Dylan smiled, watching as the professor left. He waved her goodbye, then made his way more into the room. He spotted Adi and walked over to him. "Hey, Adi!" he said with a smile. He then noticed Kace and smiled at him as well. "Hi, Kace!" the second year beamed. Turning to the older boy, Alec, who was speaking to him, he smiled and took the plates and forks and set them out.

Then, just as Dylan had finished, they could hear him coming! Getting into position with everyone else, Dylan grinned as he quickly glanced at everyone else. Then the birthday boy walked into the room and Dylan leaped up with everyone else. "SURPRISE!" he called in unison with the others.

Ian smiled at Adi's nice words. As he was standing there, the headboy came over and ruffled his hair as he complimented their work. It was kind of weird, but he noticed he was the only one who hadn't put their hat on. He put the party hat on and stood around watching the older boys engage one another. Soon enough, the boy whose party this was came in. He heard Alec cry out surprise and Ian's voice joined the chorus of greetings, SURPRISE!

Surprise?

Uhhhh... yes. Yes it was.

The third year stopped dead in his tracks as voiced rang out in the dormitory, and he kind of had to blink a bit to register what was going on. A surprise party? FOR TOBY? Well that just made him feel all fjfshskkhds inside.

He took in the guys and the room and the everything and just sort of stood there, stupidly grinning.

Toby couldn't think of what to say, so he just...

"Hi."

BEAM.

Alec couldn't stop the grin from spreading across his face and staying there when surprises were yelled out. Was this the best surprise party ever? ... He... hoped so. They had cake! CAKE! And party hats! One of which -- the most special one with a bobble on top -- he grabbed up.

Maybe he should explain yeah? "Erm... so I bumped into Tyner and she seemed to have remembered that it's your birthday today and... she thought it'd be great if we threw you a surprise party." ... Pause. "In your dorm." Where else? ... Apart from the common room. "She's also the one who cleaned the air, by the way." Which was why it smelt different and not... boy-like.

Moving on... "So... I gathered as many people as I could and they all agreed to help. Everyone did a brilliant job decorating and making a cake," Proud looks for all the boys MEN. Because he was proud. Look how great everything looked! Back to Tobias. "Happy birthday, man." He reached over and ruffled the boy's hair before holding out the party hat.

... "So what say we cut some cake and get this party started?" Alec Blake 'Not Cool' Summers at your service.

Ian took in all the happenings, as the birthday boy arrived and it made him feel good. He was part of something besides lessons and studying and homework. Also, it was nice to be able to do an kind act for someone else, especially when they were all away from home. He hoped that this would be a portent of good things to come this year.

Sooooooo Tobias was just grinning. Stupidly grinning. BEAMING. He'd never ever EVER had a surprise party before (unless you counted the year before, because he HAD been surprised, but only 'cause he'd kind of forgotten about it... and that hadn't been just HIS birthday party, but more of a large joint one).

"Brilliant!" he said enthusiastically. Except... cleaned the air?

................ well then. Still, not the point. Tyner had remembered him saying about his birthday and now the boys had done this and digjdkhdskfskhf. Toby was happy.

"This... I..." Toby scrambled for words before deciding on the obvious. "Thank you. Everyone." There were people here he knew well like Alec and Kace, some he'd spoken to a couple of times, like Adi, and some he vaguely recognised. Oh, and there was Ian, from that first day of term on the Practice Pitch! HI IAN.

As he took the party hat, Tobias found himself beaming around at everyone. He felt the hair ruffle and grinned at Alec again. "Thank you." REALLY.

But wait, what? Cake? Well Tobias was STUFFED from dinner, so of COURSE he'd have some cake. "Absolutely!"

But first, he put the party hat onto his hat and just kind of melted away from the group for a second, going down the the very last bed in the row of third year beds. This one belonged to him, and Tobias set down his schoolbag on the immaculately made bed and draped his robes neatly over his chair before moving back to the guys again.

"I could totally go for some cake right now."

Oh hey, look! It was Kaiden. WAVEWAVE.

Alec couldn't help but grin some more at the grin that was spread across Tobias's face. Birthday boy looked REALLY happy, which meant that they had succeeded in pulling this off, yeah? Yeah. Good. AWESOME, even. It was pretty rushed and Alec was scared that because of the time limit, this would end up... going badly. Yeah.

"Anytime, mate!" And he badly wanted to ruffle the boy's hair again. Because... look at that HAIR! Curly. Luscious. This hair enthusiast was very proud about this and he was sure Wade would be too.

Good. Badger Boom was ready for some cake. Looking around, Alec gave everyone a BIG GRIN and THUMBS UP for helping out. If it had been left to his own devices, the boy would have probably ruined something. Maybe the decorations. Or... Tobias might have walked in right as he was in the middle of decorating. Not great.

But... looking around... the boy DID notice something. Look how many people were in here! Too many for a dorm this size. "Hey, erm... what say we all go into the common room to cut the cake there? It's a little crowded in here and... we could share the cake with some of the girls?" Ells would be mad if she found out that birthday cake hadn't been shared with her. Especially Tobias's.

... Could they form a conga line...?

Ian sat back as he took in all the things that were going on with the party. Toby seemed to be extremely pleased with the surprise. Alec then suggested they head for the common room for the cake part. Of course, Ian was more of a follower, so this seemed like a good idea. He merely nodded and felt a twinge of pain in his neck. He reached up to rub it. Odd, he must have been laying in the bed reading in a funny position.

Sharing was Toby's favourite thing to do. It was only fair, and they were all Hufflepuffs after all.

"Yeah, I think that's a brilliant idea!" he said enthusiatically. He eyed the cake again, decided that the others in the Common room would totally love some, and nodded his head. YEP.

"C'mon, let's go now while there's still a bunch of people in there," Toby said, holding the door open and leading the way out.

No conga line, Mr. Head Boy. Not yet.

Stealthy. That's what this Head Boy was being. Stealthy. And casual.

His hands were tucked deep into his pockets as he walked very slowly over towards his dorm. Last year, his dorm had pretty much been empty so it was easy to go in there and spend a long time doing his hair leave the room as messy as he pleased. Now... he couldn't. Not really. The dorm was still messy but not as messy as it had been last term. And this clutter, on his part, was mainly bits of scrunched up pieces of parchment that had been ripped out of his journal.

Spotting no one in his dorm, the boy quickly headed inside and over towards... YES! A mirror. The door was left open because as slowly as he had been walking, Alec was in a bit of a rush. This was a hair emergency, you know. Serious business. He had some observing to do, which would include raking a hand through his hair and picking out the grey ones.

The question was... how many strands of grey hair did he have now?! ... Lots more. That's how many. FROWN.

Kaiden has spent a lot of time recently thinking. Thinking either about the kitchens, or about quidditch. It was hard to say which was taking up more of his brain lately. He had been sitting on his bed poking at homework and looking at his scribbled notes when he heard someone head past the bedroom door into the neighboring dorm. Leaving his studies, the sixth year got up and headed after them. Kaid paused seeing the older boy looking in the mirror. "Errr... I'm not interrupting anything am I?" Was it person grooming time?

This wasn't his usual hair care routine and he didn't expect to be doing this until he was, at least, over fifty. And judging by the amount of luscious grey locks on his head, he couldn't take all of them out otherwise he'd end up BALD. ... Not good. He'd rather be grey haired than--

... GROOMING time?

Grey-blue eyes widening, Alec turned his head slowly to look over at the door. Had he left it open? Had the person standing there opened it without him hearing? He... didn't know. But one thing he did know was that "Erm... no no. I was just... checking my hair," General Kaid could be trusted with this little piece of information so... after looking over the Captain's shoulders, the eighteen year old went on to say, "Grey hair!" Eyes were still wide because this was serious. And horrifying.

... Pause. "Come in, by the way." If the boy didn't have anywhere to be.

Well he has certainly surprised the Seeker. He hadn't meant to... he was just you know, there. "Oh, okay." Except... "Did you just say Grey? But.... you're not old..." Though, entering, and actually looking at the Head Boy's hair, Kaiden could see for himself that there were in fact grey hairs on his head. "Weird."

Plopping down onto a bed, he poked it. Whose was it anyways? "So........ er, what are you gonna do about it?" It seemed like a thing that needed something done.

Alec was surprised. Yeah. He was also surprised that he hadn't seen the younger Hufflepuff boy in, what seemed like, a really long time. You know, outside of the Quidditch pitch. Did he just say grey? A solemn look crossed the boy's face and he nodded slowly. "Grey. I... yeah. Eighteen's not that old, right?" It was the first year of being a man in the Muggle world! Which is what he was. A man.

"About the grey hairs?" Shrugging, he sat down slowly on his own bed, grabbing his pillow in the process. "I've thought about hair dye..." he started glancing at the Captain. What did he think about hair dye? Good? Bad? ... Pause. "You're not getting any, right?"

Kace decided to go relax in the boys dormitory. He hadn't been here in a while and thought it would be nice to draw. He got out his sketching book and his pencils and colored pencils. He looked around and what he could draw. He looked at the window and decided to draw the window panes. Since they didn't really have a view of the grounds since their common room was underground. He began to relax and draw. He notice that he was all alone. But he preferred it this way. It meant he could have more time to himself.

But as he was taking in the silence, he realized he was missing Emmy more. But he would see her soon enough.

Dylan walked into the boy's dorm after a quick trip to the kitchens. He had had a lovely bowl of ice cream in there, which was just what he needed. It had been a boring day and he felt like he had found no one to hang out with. Where were all his friends? They seemed to be hiding from him... oh well. Perhaps there would be a friend in the dorm.

The second year glanced around the room and spotted a friend right away. Kace! Grinning, he made his way over to him and saw that he was drawing. "Hey Kace," he said slowly, hoping not to startle him. He looked quite focused. "Whatcha drawing?" he asked curiously.

As he was drawing, he jumped a little bit and smiled and heard the familiar voice. "Oh i didn't even hear you come in. I guess i was that focused.." he grinned and put down his sketch pad and looked at his long lost friend. He asked what he was drawing and he looked at it. "Oh i am drawing the window panes and how interesting they are. Lame i know right?" he joked with his fellow puff.

"How have you been doing mate?" he asked him giving him a one armed hug. Seriously he hadn't seen him in forever.
