Upon the time when class would resume, the area was completely empty of any desks and bags were pushed to the side near the stands and walls. A large net full of colorful quaffle and bludger sized balls were sitting next to the professor, along with a large chalkboard. If you just so happened to look up towards the ceiling, you may or may not see a shimmer here and there, as if there were a large plastic covering over them. Hurry up young students! You do want to start soon, don't you?
OOC: The activity has started and will end around 2 am EST Feb 2nd.

Sander waited for others to release their chains before he attempted to try again. With too many chains flying around, one was apt to make a mistake. So he kept an eye on the yellow ball he was hoping to capture and when he saw a break, he pointed his wand and said"Ligetanous"
Chains flew out from his wand and headed straight for its intended target. But just as the chains neared the yellow ball, a blue one flew in front of it and Sander's chains wrapped itself around it.
Oh man!! A blue one!! Sander hoped none of his housemates had seen that happen.
She still wore a tiny grin on her face as Train Boy tugged her toward the activity. What? She was proud of herself for accomplishing the spell. She wouldn't go as far as awesome. It'd taken her three tries to get it, but she was close to it. Heh.
The activity seemed easy enough. Shoot at green balls and chain them up. Though, she couldn't help feel a tiny bit disappointed. She'd imagined running after and catching dummies disguised as demons. Too far-fetched of an idea, but it would have been fun.
Turning to Train Boy, she nodded. "Good luck."
Well...here goes. Remembering she had cast Finite on her shoes, she pointed at them, making a sideways candy cane motion with her wand. "Henshu," she said. Her feet weren't stuck to the ground as they've been before. It was more of a secure stickiness.
She was set. Spotting a green ball Beverly pointed her wand at it, focusing on only it. "Ligatenous!" A spiral of chains shot out of her wand. They'd either wrap around it or knock it out of the field. Fortunately the former happened as the chains wrapped around the green ball.
YESSSS!
"Good luck to you as well." It seemed that she didn't need it though. After missing his ball, Michael had taken a peek over to her and saw her snag a green ball on her very first go.
Not that he wasn't happy for her or anything because he was but it was now time to get serious. There were house points and his reputation on the line.
Giving himself a small shake, Michael moved a further away from her and found another red ball flying around. This time he took a moment to watch the ball's flight pattern before raising his wand and pointing it not at the ball but just a little ahead of the ball.
"Ligatenous." The chain bolted from his wand and by the time it got into the air,the red ball was right in its path. The chain wrapped itself securely around the red ball.

Keeping an eye out for the balls, right, whatever. He could have done that away from her. She wouldn't have minded at all. The grin didn't help either. No, in fact it might have annoyed her more so she made the executive decision to go shooting chains elsewhere and hope that new spot wasn't filled with clumsy bums.
There was a time or two that left her dodging chains making their way up. You think people would watch where they're aiming things.
Alright. Here. This was where she would get an angle on the balls. The Gryffindor took aim, finding one that would have been easy from this angle, squinted to get a better look then fired. "Ligatenous!" Instantly the chain shot from her wand and headed for the ceiling, knocking away another in the process. Shame that had to happen but it was well deserved after what she'd just been throu--
What the kneazle?? Who's chain just--dhfvhksdfgvks. Nuuuu, she was working hard on that shot!! Lex's hand flopped to her side and she deadpanned at the ceiling. That wasn't even funny.

Hmm.. So the aim of this activity was to chain as many of those balls that were flying about as you can? Provided they were your house colour of course. Well at least he didn’t have to physically catch them with his hands, or beat them with a bat. That was far too Quidditch like for his liking, he probably wouldn’t be very successful if that was the case.
But this game looked okay. He had a pretty good aim he thought and he had a handle on the spell at least, so capturing at least one ball should have been on the cards for him.
The Slytherin watched the balls zapping around the room intently, waiting for a green one to come into sight. And it did, hidden amongst a sea of red ones. Brilliant. He aimed his wand carefully, tracking its movements until he felt that it was the opportunity to strike. Not quite yet.. Just be patient.. Now.
“Ligatenous” Terry declared calmly, watching as a chain protruded out the end of his wand and started heading towards the group of balls. He tilted his head at an angle, eyeing the chain as it twisted and turned until it wrapped itself around a ball.

Sander knew that he had to make amends to his house for his earlier mistake, so he looked around for another yellow ball. With the other balls and chains flying around, he saw that it was getting harder to capture the balls that easily now. But try he would.
When he sighted the smaller sized one of the two yellow balls, he raised his wand and tracked its movements, but every time he wanted to cast the spell, other balls and chains would block his view for a second and he had to wait for another chance.
Now!! The ball was clear! Sander pointed his wand at the spot he hoped the ball would be at when he released his chains, and called out,"Ligatenuos"
Immediately chains flew out and headed straight for the yellow ball. It got closer and closer and then out of nowhere, something blocked the chains' path and that got wrapped in chains instead.
Sander squinted to see what it was...and then breathed a sigh of relief. It was another yellow ball. In fact, it was the exact twin of his intended target.

It was really time to get his game face on. Bart was determined did people see how determined he was. He took to the air with his eyes again just as he pretended he was after the bludgers. Yes that's what he wanted a bludger. A red one, his eyes stayed focused and he zoomed on his feet towards the area he was watching.
Very unaware of anyone around him. He had a gift of tuning out which worked well here. He should thank his mum for her nagging that helped him become such a brilliant tuning out child. Pointing his wand, "Ligatenous" The chains flew out and they wrapped around a red ball.

Tessa was glad to have someone to work with, and she was sure that this would help them to do better in the competition. That caused a smile to twitch on her lips, before her game face slipped back onto her features. It was time to conquer.
She cast again, this time nailing another red ball. "That's three!" she called back to Bay. Glancing over, she saw Lux over in another area of the room. "Go Lux," she called with a laugh, then refocused on her spell casting. She cast again, but the spell sailed high- the ball was being tricky.
"Remember Bay, the red balls are the ones we want- if we catch another, that house gets the point," she called back.

Not letting herself be brought down by it, she quickly shot out the Ligatenous spell again, managing to chain the yellow one this time. "Looks like you haven't won yet!" she told him.

Lux smiled as Tessa cheered her on, then watched as Bay cast a chain over her head. Looking up, she saw that he managed to get another red on. "I'm gonna go all feirce Badger on you, Bay." She gave him a sweet smile then shot the Ligatenous spell at a yellow balloon that was floating nearby, capturing it. There was another point for her.

Tessa laughed, shaking her head at the competition between Bay and Lux. It was cute... but this wasn't the time to think about that. She grinned as another ball sailed nearby. However, as she sent the chain out, it tangled with another one. "Sorry!" she called as both chains left the barrier.
She refocused on another red ball and quickly cast the chain at it. "Ligatenous!"
"Are you keeping track Bay? Lux?" she called. "Because I'm at 4!"

She must have been doing something wrong. Except for the first one, her chains had been missing. True they were through no fault of her own but others and their terrible aim but that wasn't making the Gryffindor feel any better right about now. Mastering a spell was no good if it wasn't coming in handy for helping them WIN.
That was another thing she supposed. It all looked so confusing up there with all those balls and chains and yeah.
Focus Lex. Don't aim for the other chains.
There would be no more missing for this lion. She wasn't used to this sort of thing. "Ligatenous!"Come on come on come on. Alexa's eyes were glued to her chains, completely ignoring all those other ones around her. The chains seemed to be doing that too, taking a smooth glide though the air to finally wrap around...a Ravvie...ball.
"You have to be joking! No! No really??"
When she said she wanted to actually chain something, she meant in her OWN bloody house THANKS!

Oh gosh, it was just like Ella to bump into someone and now she was going to have to mutter endless apologies because she couldn't be known as the mean Head Girl who charged people because she was so competitive at House competitions and so she turned around to face the person she'd h-
"Toby!"
Relieved, she was. The blonde smiled sheepishly and gave him a once over, making sure he really was okay and wasn't just saying so to make her feel better. "Good because I want to keep you around, okay?" Hair ruffles for you, Tobias. "I really am sorry. I need to watch where I'm going."
Maybe she'd just position herself against the desks like he had? That way she couldn't take anyone else out. Seemed like a legit plan to her.
"Mind if I join you?"
And look, a yellow bludger-sized ball was swerving back and forth just above there heads. The blonde narrowed in on it and pointed her wand and said, "Ligatenous!"
GRIN!
"Badger boom?"
At the sheepish grin, Tobias smiled a bit wider. He hadn't minded, but he just let Ella apologise, 'cause that was the kind of person she was: kind. "It's fine," he said, giving a little manly giggle at the hair ruffle. "Sure!"
Ahhhh yis, company.
Tobias raised his own wand and pointed it at a yellow ball whizzing by; what better time to try aiming at a moving target? Tobias aimed his wand and squeezed one eye shut, the way he always did when he was aiming a quaffle at the goalhoop, and cast the spell.
"Ligatenous!"
And it happened! Okay, the chains JUST caught the ball, but catch it they did. And it was a yellow one too. As the ball flailed off, away from the activity area and out of harm's way, Tobias looked back at Ella.
"Badger boom!" he agreed.

Sander looked over at Tessa and Bay and smiled when he noticed they were trying to challenge against Lux as to how many balls each of them caught. Oh no...that could never be. He quickly walked over to join Lux. "Game on Team badger" Sander whispered to Lux.
If they could catch more balls, than so could they. Sander eyes quickly latched on to a yellow ball. He immediately started tracking it with his wand raised following its movements. Balls were flying all over the place...and so were those pesky chains. But Sander was determined. Lux and he had to beat Tessa and Bay...even if Tessa was his girlfriend.
He waited....waited and then said,"Ligatenous" unleashing the chains. He watched as it flew up, narrowly missing a set of chains that flew by it...closer...closer...another red ball miss....and then it hit its target wrapping itself around another yellow ball. 6 for him now!

Tessa was keeping an eye out for another red ball, but it was motion on the ground that caught her eye. She looked over and grinned as Sander joined Lux. "Bay, it looks like its us Lions against the two Badgers over there," she murmured to him, but just loud enough for Sander and Lux to hear.
"Better watch your back Strand!" Tessa called out, and quickly cast the spell at two incoming red balls. "That's 6," she said with a grin. She wasn't competitive... not at all. Or she could just be in denial. Either way, she returned her attention to the game.

'Come to papa....come to papa...' Sander called out in his mind....and it was like as if the ball heard him because it came out from where it was stuck in the corner and began flying closer to where his wand was tracking it.
Left.....right....up....and down...no up...left...right...down....'Stay still will ya!' Sander thought to himself. Now!! "Ligatenous!! he called out and out shot the chains. It flew up like an arrow aiming straight for its target.

She could have done without giving Ravenclaw any points just now. The more she thought about it was the more that chain glared down at her. Yes blue ball--so very pretty by the way, why couldn't they all have been blue with little house symbols to differentiate?--she could see you with HER chain. It was an accident. This wasn't like with Astro with HER getting the blue, the blue was staying up there to taunt her and she would have to deal with it. One of those not crying over spilled milk sort of things.
So she got a Ravvie ball, there were still Gryffindor ones up there too, she could make them out and was determined to get one of them next. If not...PLEASE DON'T CHAIN A YELLOW ONE!!!
The Puffers were doing well enough on their own, don't you think?
Ahem, eyes on the red ball, the one right there and only that one. She would get it this time. No disappointments, none of that stuff. "Ligatenous!" Redredredredred. Lex bit her lip and watched it soar toward the ceiling with the barrier and the balls that needed chaining.
...

YEEEESSSSS! Yes! Red! Finally! Woot!

Ian had been standing in front of his desk. He had watched his classmates trying to catch the balls and figured eventually he'd have to try to do something. He focused on a yellow quaffle sized ball and pointed his wand at it, trying to follow it. He squinted with concentration and spoke the words Ligatenous! He watched as his chains left the wand and headed toward the ball. Unfortunately, a green bludger type ball came and knocked the yellow one off it's track and the chains landed on the floor between where the balls had met. He was breathing deeply after the attempt.

It made Ella grin, Tobias' tagline. Not that she wasn't already since he'd agreed to let her invade his practice space and all. It was nice to have someone to work with. Plus she liked seeing him succeed. Proud pseudo!sis was proud, okay? She was also refraining from mentioning how adorable the giggling was because Tobias was probably at that stage where being a man was important and junk. Lips were zipped, okay?
"Nicely done."
And now it was her turn. The eighteen year looked up and tried to focus on a yellow target. It was kind of overwhelming for the eyes, to be honest. There were chains flying and different color balls zooming this way and that, it was just a lot to take in. She did eventually manage to find a bludger-sized ball tha t she could work with, though. Now she'd just follow it with her wand and..
"Ligatenous!"
Just missed. MAN. She hated that but she was going again, okay? Okay.
She narrowed her eyes slightly and focused once more before saying clearly, "Ligatenous!" Got it. Chain was wrapped around the ball. Cool.
Once the balls were released, Cutty went crazy. Like his mind reverted back to that of some primitive caveman's on the hunt of some horned and hooved animal...but not a chort. Or maybe in his mind it was a chort. And he was aiming to be rich off of it's venom and other potions-friendly parts. "Ligatenous!" He casted at the green ball flying low and capturing it for Slytherin.

"L-Ligatenous." The chains burst from her wand and towards the red ball... and were intercepted by another set of links. She didn't even turn to see who'd sent them, just looked at her wand in defeat. Could class be over yet?

Lux made a fierce badger sound at Bay before laughing as Sander joined her and Tessa wanted to know what their scores was. "I think I'm at six." She was really owning this game, because she wanted to win. This Badger did not want to be left in the dust.
Beaming that she had Sander on her side against Tessa and Bay, she shot the Ligatenous spell at a yellow ball floating near Tessa. Boo, she missed it.
"Sander, we can't let Tessa and Bay win! But at least Bay looks like he is gonna fall asleep soon." Snort. She knew that he had heard that.

Bart was starting to get annoyed by some of the chatter. It was really starting to interfere with his focus and he actually had focus right now. Did people not realize this!! He was trying super hard to pay attention and help his team win, but blah blah was going on and glaring started happening. It took everything and he meant EVERYTHING in him not to shot the chains at some people in the arena. Which he felt would be more fun anyway.
Eyes focused on the people he started thinking about who would be first. Hmm which one to pick first. His wand hand twitched wanting to do it. How much trouble would he get in if he did it. Totally worth it. Hit a puffer get 500 points. Sounded good to him, but which would be first? Book boy? Know it all? So many in the room to pick from.
He glanced up as he saw something green flash above him. Remembering the balls above his head he pointed his wand, "Ligatenous" The chains went flying but passed the balls.

Sander nodded his head in agreement with Lux. "No we can't let them win." then laughed when he looked over at Bay. Lux was almost right. Bay did look like his eyes were half closed. But now it was time to be serious.
"Lux, I see three yellow balls flying pretty close to each other. If we keep an eye on those three, I'm sure at least one of us will have a shot at catching one of them." Sander pointed out to Lux where the balls were.
With wand pointing up, Sander began tracking the balls' motions. Then he had an idea instead of sending one set of chains he decided to send two sets one after the other. Maybe that would increase his chances of capturing the balls.
Watch!...watch!.....watch!...aim!....ready!......n ow!! "Ligatenous" out shot the first set of chains. Even as they flew up, Sander immediately cast the spell again, " Ligatenous" and out shot the second set of chains, following closely behind the first.
Both sets flew narrowly missing other colored balls and links of chains and straight for the trio. One reached its target first and wrapped around it. One Yellow Ball. The other followed close behind, grazing and missing one of the other yellow balls, before wrapping itself around....a yellow ball.
"Eight...Nine..." Sander counted and looked over at Tessa and Bay with a grin. Raising up nine fingers to them.

Tessa grinned at Sander as he called out responses to her. However, she couldn't watch him for long- there were balls to bring down- and the more she did, the closer their victory came. "Just you wait," she called back to the boy. It was nice to know that their competition wouldn't affect their friendship at all, nor her friendship with Lux. It was all for fun and games- and they would return to normal as soon as the class finished. But for now- the game was on!
"IT's alright Bay, just keep shooting them down," she told the other Gryffindor with a quick grin. "That way, we'll surprise Sander and Lux when we win!" She added with a laugh. She was looking around when she heard Bay's call. "Got it!" she said, taking a few steps forward to get a better angle. It took two castings, but finally "Ligatenous!" The chain wrapped around the wayward red ball. That was 7!
