Tessa walked into the Study room and placed down her materials with a sigh. Even moving from one room to another was painful. She hated these achy joints. However, now wasn't hte time for that...

She pushed her things to one side and then dropped the ball of clay for the homework assignment onto the table. She was waiting for her friend Bay to come and join her, but until then, she began to work with the clay, getting it soft and malleable for when she decided on a shape for her amulet.

Bay had just came from collecting his clay.. spotting Tessa he made his way over there "Hey… you starting with out me" he said laughing..

taking a seat finally.. he did way too much walking today, he placed his clay down in front of him.. "this stuff feels cool right?" he said following in Tessa's steps he started to work play with it "so do you know what shape your going to make?" thinking about his.. maybe just a nice square.. "of i can turn it into a heart and give it to Lux….its a protection rune…it should be a nice gift.." he kept that thought to himself. for the moment.

Tessa heard someone come in and smiled when she saw Bay walking over. "Hey there!" she called, waving him over to the spot she had saved for him- a little bit of clay flying off of her hand. "I did not! I was just preparing the clay," she said, poking the softer clay that was before her.

"It does! I haven't worked with clay much, but it's been fun," she said, quickly shaping the clay into a ball before flattening it out again. "I have no idea!" she told him with a laugh. "I was looking through my book trying to decide. "Do you know what symbol you're going to use? I was going to use the symbol of Isis," she said, indicating the crude drawing in her open notes for Bay to see.

Then, she noticed a look in Bay's eyes and tilted her head in question. "What did you have in mind?" she asked, trying to keep the suspicion out of her voice and only somewhat succeeding.

Bay laughed at her not saying she was starting with out him.. "just joking Tessa" he said while working with the clay like it was a little pizza… but he won't be tossing it in the air.. thats for sure.. clay would go everywhere and Bay was way to tired to clean up a big mess.

"Well I was thinking about making it as a gift.. because we get them back right…" he confessed to her.. "and I'm using "Sa" its for protection" he said while paying more attention to the clay.. "should I tell her that I kissed Lux???" the thought was swimming around his head.. with out looking his hands made the clay into a heart.. oh geeezzz really.. might as well keep it that shape..

"I guess I have a heart shape.." he said with a little laugh.. "oh.. errrr… do we have to wait for it to harden before carving in the symbol? or do we do it now?" he asked her.. thinking about how long it was going to take.

She watched Bay work with the clay for a moment before returning her attention to her own project. Now that it was easy to mold, she had no idea what shape to make it into. Wiping off one of her hands, she leafed through her notes looking for one that she would like. Finally, she settled on a more oblong shape.

She began working on that but looked over at Bay as he spoke. "A gift huh?" she asked, hiding a smile. She had a fair guess as to who it was for. "That's a good rune, the receiver of the gift sure is lucky," she teased softly. She continued to shape her clay, her tongue sticking out a little as she tried to get it just right.

"A heart?" she pressed, grinning at the younger lion. "Hmm... now who could that be for?" she asked innocently before finally finishing the shape. "There, that should be perfect," she said, leaning back to admire it. "You'll probably want to carve the shape in while the clay is soft- that way you can make sure the shape is exact and fix it if needed," she reasoned.

"yup a gift… most likely going to go to Lux" he said with out thinking, hoping that she didn't hear what he said moving the clay around more.. he thought that instead of just giving her a heart that he should attach a holding of some sort so she could wear it as a necklace or bracelet.

"hmm let me look at my notes.." he said.. while starring down at his parchment.. "oh i have we need to use "Duro" to harden the clay.. and then with our tools…" he looked at his sitting beside his parchment.. "which we have.. we then use "Intaglio" to carve in our symbol… " re-reading it he wanted to make sure he was right.. and yup looked like it was time to finish shaping his clay and harden it.

finishing adding his little holder he smoothed it down a little bit… the taking out his wand he said "Duro" placing his wand back down he lightly tapped his heart… oh it was a lot harder now.. "cool" he said out loud.. he was going to wait for Tessa to finish her shape and harden it.. before he started to carve in his symbol into his heart.

Tessa hid a smile, but then nodded as if it were nothing, but inside- she was dancing. But those thoughts were for another time. She had to focus on her own amulet.

Once the shape was right, she looked over as Bay talked about the spells that should be used. "Well, I'm glad you took notes on that," she said with a soft laugh, shaking her head at her own folly. "I swear my memory gets worse with each passing day," she said with a sigh. She returned her attention to her amulet, pulling her wand out of her bag.

"Duro," she cast, waiting a moment before gently touching the clay. "That should do it," she said with a smile. "So, we cast to carve the symbol?" she clarified, looking over at the younger lion. That's what it seemed like they were supposed to do. She hoped she didn't mess it up!

so far so good.. they both had harden clay.. "I know I had to take notes… my memory is going too" he told her "this is pretty cool though… i can make a lot of stuff at home.. my mother has lots of clay" he loved doing pottery hopefully she wouldn't mind if Bay had some.. actually she might be so excited that he will be interested in something she likes…. ugghhhhh maybe he shouldn't mention it.. He laughed in his own head at the crazy thought.

"so we should carve our symbol now… i think.." looking down at his notes again.. "yeah… we need to carve" wait… looking at it again… they didn't need a tool just his wand.. "ugghh sorry Tessa my mind is going crazy!" he wiped his eyes "were just supposed to just use our wands to carve our symbol…." he placed his head on his desk.. UGHHHHHH

Picking up his wand he said "Intaglio" and pointing it at his harden clay.. concentrate Bay… he wanted the symbol to look decent.. and not a hack job… finally finished his carving he held up his clay and looked at it.. "I think I did a pretty good job.. don't ya think?" he held it out for Tessa to inspect.

Tessa nodded, fighting down the grumpiness that always threatened whenever she thought about her horrible memory and achy joints. It made the days long and difficult. She would have been more accepting of it if she weren't 17 years old! "Oh really? That sounds like fun," she said with a soft laugh. "My father only has lots of papers and some things he uses for his studies," she replied. And she wouldn't touch those- too sensitive.

"Sounds about right," she said, peering over at his notes. Raising her wand, she aimed it at the place she wanted to start carving and said "Intaglio." As the spell began to carve, she slowly moved it to trace out her symbol. Soon enough, after some precarious turns and corners, she ended the spell.

"That looks great Bay!" she said, looking at his piece. "Here's mine- not too bad I think," she said, brushing away some of the clay dust that remained after the carving spell.

Bay was glad that this homework didn't involve him grinding or cutting.. his arms were really soar.. "oh Tessa your's looks wonderful" he told her while reaching into his bag and pulled out two little boxes.. "here I brought you a box to place your Amulet in.."

Grabbing his own Bay placed it carefully in it.. and then tying the string around the box.. phew safe and sound.. "Now all we have to do is go drop it off.." he smiled.. "Homework is more fun when your doing it with great friends" he patted her arm lightly.

Packing up his things he looked at his friend "you want to come with me?" hoping she would.. he didn't want to go by himself.

"Thanks Bay, but don't sell yourself short!" she told him with a soft laugh. She blinked in surprise and then smiled as she gently took a box from Bay. "Thank you so much, this is perfect," she told him, gently putting her amulet into the box.

"Sounds good," she said, gathering her things and putting them into her bag. Except for her amulet, which she left out so that she could submit it without having to risk it with her other things. "That is very true, Bay," she agreed with a laugh.

"Of course- let's go turn in these amulets of great power," she said with a laugh. Slinging her bag over one shoulder, she put her other arm on Bay's shoulders. "Ready?"
