The Lions sit under a brand new scarlet and gold banner representing their house. Their solid, shiny wooden table is nicely polished with all the place settings perfectly set. The food will arrive after the Headmistress' traditional start-of-term speech. To all Gryffindors, both new and old: welcome to Hogwarts!

Was that the kid from summer over there? Falling through ghosts just like they were candy displays and it was July again? Alice grinned back at him.
"You're a Gryffindor. Trying out for Quidditch, yeah?" Yeah. Otherwise his rep was going way down in her book. She tapped the captain's badge on her robes again with a finger. "I'm expecting to see your name on the sign up sheet."
... if she remembered his name. Which was....?

"I'll try out, but I'm sure you'll be blown away," Tessa half-joked with a grin. This is what she had been waiting for.
She could? Alice grinned, momentarily forgetting her distaste for handshakes as she took Tessa's hand. "Chaser, huh? You want to go pro?" They'd see, but this kid was sure an ambitious one. Definitely had drive, too, and had already made an impression.
"Did you play wherever you used to go to school?" Because that was important, too.

What? Pffft. Leave it to Alice to show her gratitude in the least appreciative of ways. "I don't make a habit of talking to pansies. What would I be doing recruiting some?" Honestly. If they made the team she'd be stuck with them and there were only so many times she could will herself to not punch someone. If would get to being too much and her excuse would be toughening them up for the real bludgers in the actual games. They would be SO welcome.
Eh....Lex looked around the table before responding to that last bit. "I dunno. Haven't seen one. Maybe he doesn't exist?" In any case they wouldn't have to be sitting her in wonder. Not with the speech being done and all. Being intentionally oblivious, she completely ignored West's table approach and consequently missed anything that might have gone down. Pity, but not really. She grabbed the little boy and crawled under the table, popping up by Alice. "Let's go. That question won't be answering itself." Lex grabbed her too and it was off to the staff table for them both.
"I never forget." She eyed the toddler thing again as Lex spoke, nearly cracking up then and there. "All you do is talk to pansies. Are they rubbing off on you, Cambridge?" 'Cause any beater of hers wasn't going to be acting flower-like. Not on this watch.
"Why are we bringing the kid?" Ew. Alice stayed far away from it as she was dragged. It was so tiny and gross.
Maybe they could pawn it off on some professor.

Tessa matched the girl's grin. It was already reassuring that she was getting along with the Captain of the team- and based on the girl's build and the callouses on her hands, she knew what she was doing. Excellent.
"I don't want to go pro, I am going pro," she correct with a proud grin- she wasn't being cocky not completely, it was just a fact. "I've already talked to a few scouts, I just need to keep sharp for try-outs," she told the girl. There would be no stopping her from achieving her goal.
She nodded. "At every school I've been to," she told the girl. "I even brought my broom," she explained. "Granted, whether I can use it depends on your rules," she added, remembering how other schools had made using their brooms mandatory. Even out the playing field and such.

Sander was making his rounds visiting the other tables when he came across a familiar face at the Gryffindor table. It was Tessa, the girl he shared the carriage up to the castle with. Right now she was busy chatting with someone and Sander didn't want to interrupt, so he decided to hang back for a moment hoping that she would see him.
He had definitely enjoyed their chat in the carriage.
"The thing talks?" Mitchell asked with a raised eyebrow. "What is it supposed to say?" Because he was curious now. He was also wondering if it was bad the hat didn't say anything to him.
Then he stopped worrying. He had a house thing, and that's what was important. Yay for lions. Or... whatever he was.
He nodded a little at her explanation. "The horses are strange. Just a heads up."
"I think so," Lana replied... though now she wasn't so sure. Where had she heard that bit of information? Had she just made it up? Now there wasn't even any way to tell because she'd already been sorted! She frowned and admitted, "But I don't know." It was upsetting.
Horses, though! "Horses? I didn't know horses pulled the carriage. Why are they weird?" She was sort of excited to hearing why Mitchie thought they were odd... because since she met him, he thought a lot of things were odd.
Lana was beginning to think that maybe Mitchie was just weird.

This place gets far more epic when you have a bunch of friends to run around with." She wasn't so sure the girl would get Ascanius to run around with her but the idea was there and distracting from the Quidditch talk which was the new goal. Lana said she'd ask Jake and Lex trusted she'd update her when something new happened so, yup, that was that.
"Did you run into the Giant Squid on the way over here from the boats?" She hadn't but you never know what luck other people might have in their First Year.
Giant Squid!
"No," Lana said with an equal mix of relief and regret in the small word. "I didn't see it." It was good, because that probably would have been scary. It was bad, though, because how great of a story would that have been if she'd seen the giant squid on her first night at Hogwarts?
"Have you ever seen it? What's it like? Is it nice?"

The eleven-year-old beamed at the joke, her eyes widening slightly as the ghost floated over to hear. And bowed. She watched his head curiously as he did so.
"Startled me?" She repeated, returning her attention to the Nick's eyes because that was more polite than his almost-severed neckline. "A little bit," she answered honestly. "But it's okay. BUUT new face! Hello! "Oh and welcome to Hoggy Hogwarts! I'm Abbi!"
"Thanks!" Lana piped up, accepting both of the kits from the other girl. She opened one to check what was inside... and didn't question it. This girl was older, probably, and if she knew what was needed to survive at Hogwarts Lana wasn't going to question her.
Oh. And she was still talking to her. "Thanks!" She said again. Abbi. She'd remember the name. "I'm Lana!"

Lana stared.
Don't get her wrong, she was always one for questions and wanting to know things. She just didn't think asking a dead person about their death was very nice.
She didn't say that out loud, though. What she said was, "You're not very nice, you know."

Tessa had just finished her talk with the Quidditch Captain when she saw someone familiar standing off to the side. Turning, she gave Sander a big smile.
"Hey stranger!" she said, walking over. "Where did you get sorted to?" she asked. "Granted, I'm still trying to remember my own House's name," Tessa added with a laugh.
"What do you think? Bigger than Durmstrang?" she asked, looking around.

"I'm not sure about the size. I think it's almost the same. But it's still nice. House? Hufflepuff. The people are nice there like all the students in the other houses. So you're in mighty Gryffindor. You do know that you will have to learn to roar like a lion.....a lot!!" Sander teased her.
Then he belatedly realized that he didn't actually know what sound a badger made. He still couldn't figure out why it was his House's mascot but who was he to question that.

"Hufflepuff," the name sounded familiar. She looked over at her friends, remembering that a few of them were Hufflefluffs too. No, Hufflepuff- she would have to remember that. "Well, I'm glad- it sounds like you've already met some good people," she replied. That was a relief- not every new school experience was the best.
She laughed at his suggestion. "Is that a dare?" she asked him. Before he could reply, she cupped a hand around her mouth and leaning back so that she didn't do it in anyone's ear she called out "ROAR!"

Ice would help, but she didn't want it to be anything worse than that- then they would have to see the nurse. No fun.
Hearing the ghost speak to Lux, Tessa turned making sure that she was right beside Lux for the encounter. "It's alright," she reassured the girl.
Lux liked being patted on the shoulder, so she gave her friend a weak smile as she kept the ice to her head. Fortunately, her head was starting to hurt less, so it seemed that a trip to the Healer would not be needed.

Nick was talking to Cucumber.. he moved closer to her and put his icepack down to put his arm around here. "its okay" he said.
Glad that he was okay, Lux hugged Bay back. She was not usually a hugging person, but there were a few people she made an exception for, and he was one of them (Tessa was another). "I am doing much better with the ice on my head." It was amazing that Tessa could do that! Nodding at his decision, she started packing her plate with food as well, so that she could eat it before it all got cold. "It's a survival kit; it has Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Botts in it!" And she would share it with them if they wanted her to.
With both Tessa and Bay close to her, Lux felt a little better about the ghost situation. "Thanks, Bay." The arm around her was rather comforting.

Sure enough, a streak of blue came flying out from under the table. Tessa managed to see it out of the corner of her eye and had reached out to catch the small creature before anyone could blink. "Is this who you were looking for?" she asked Bay, giving the pygmy puff a gentle scratch.
Lux waited in anticipation as Tessa took out her wand and performed the spell to get Ziggy back. At first she was worried that it would not work, or the little Pygmy Puff would get hurt.... but then she saw the streak of blue, and in no time Ziggy was in Tessa's hand.

Yes good change of subject. Houses. Yes.

He could stop laughing...until she turned the dare back onto him.
"Um...I think Badgers are mute. They don't make any sound at all." he grinned back innocently at her.

Tessa laughed, holding the Pygmy puff securely, but gently, until Bay was ready to take him back. "I love magic," she said with a grin.

Granted, there was no guarantee that she wouldn't end up at Durmstrang. Who knew where her father's job would take him next, or when. That though soured her mood slightly. Thank goodness for the topic change.
"Very true," she said with a laugh. "It would be frustrating if you didn't get along with any of them, unless you're a loner of course," but she didn't think that applied to him. It definitely didn't apply to her. She looked over at his question and shrugged. "I have no idea- and even if it's not allowed, I'm sure there's a way to sneak in," she suggested with a shrug and a sly grin.
What? Had he not expected her to do it? She laughed with him, and continued laughing after she turned the tables on him. "Oh are they?" she teased. "Well, aren't you lucky," she commented, still laughing.

Tessa gave a shrug. "I would say it's a good reason," she replied with a soft laugh. It had been her own fault- mostly. But she had gone to more enjoyable schools after, so it was worth the red mark on her record. She nodded. "Thanks. Everyone has a similar syllabus, so it was just a few things to catch up on each time- and I got cut a few breaks because of Quidditch," she added with a grin.
"Completely agree- history can be quite dry," she said, shaking her head. "Thanks, that would be helpful," she replied with a sly smile. It would be good to know who to talk to when she got behind... if she got behind.
"I realise that... " Sarah said, looking at that innocent face. Although he did cause some interuptions in classes... he and dear Zahra. "keep it up!" Sarah encouraged
Sarah nodded her head sympathetically, "we shouldn't only rely on our teaches for knowledge, we should supplement it ourselves either by reading or getting help from others.. life is a school in itself"
"read it up... each house has its own gift... and its stereotype..." she said.
currently..only child..OCtober, Sarah face lit up on his behalf. His mother was expecting...how nice.In her heart Sarah wished his mother an easy and healthy childbirth."You are so lucky... I wish my mother had more children under me..." But now she was getting too old for that. "My sister-in-law is due than too" Sarah said. Maybe they will be in the same class at Hogwarts...
Her family...Sarah's eyes glowed and she spoke with a smile on her face, "It is awesome having a big family, its like a party everyday, there was always someone to hang around with or play with and now that the next generation is coming, we are going to be like a tribe of our own. There is nothing better than having seven siblings... I won't mind more"
He gave her a mock salute. Maybe they should have given her the Prefect badge. Nah, he knew that Lex was going to make an awesome Prefect. At least she wouldn't be one of those stuffy ones that looked like they had swallowed a lemon. Well no,they shouldn't rely on everything from their teachers but DADA was an important class and he thought that they should be doing more in it. He didn't say that however, he just merely nodded at Sarah.
Oh great. More reading. Michael looked at Sarah and chuckled. "You ever thought about becoming a teacher?" Because she would make a good one, so long as she didn't go off on her weird speeches.
She wanted her mother to have more children? "You're mother is probably tired after the seven she's already got." Merlin! He was just tired thinking of having six other siblings like him. "Congratulations! You're going to be an aunty."
Michael had to admit that he was a little jealous of Sarah. He would have liked a sibling or two while he was growing up. But his parents couldn't seem to get their act together until now. All this talk of family reminded him that Z wasn't talking to him. She wasn't even at the feast and he was tired of waiting for her. He was just gonna go and look for her instead.
"Excuse me Sarah, but I need to go find my best friend." He was sure that the older girl would understand. He gave her a smile as he stood up from his seat.

Michael was just walking around the table when the boy from the train called out his name and he flashed him a grin. "That is awesome. I'll show you all the fun places to hang out." But first he had something he needed to do.
"Hopefully I'll be back before the feast ends, if not I'll catch you in the common room." He gave the boy a quick wave before going in search of his BFF.
Mitchell couldn't help but grin. Salem? That meant she was from the States too. This was exciting. There weren't enough of them.
BETTER YET! She was from New York too! "Manhattan. Well... most of my life anyway. I was born in Brooklyn." He blinked at her narrowed eyes. Soon enough it was a smile though. That was better.
"What brought you over here?" To England.
A fellow New Yorker! Eeeeep!
"Manhattan is b-e-a-utiful!" Silver cooed. She was truly a fan of that American state. "Especially during the holidays.." Silver nodded.
Hmm. Mitchell asked a good question, that she didn't quite have an answer to.
"Hmm, good question Mitchell." She grinned and thought about it, for a few seconds. "I needed a change in scenery." Nailed it! Perfect answer. "How about you? What brings you here?" She smiled, paying attention.

Silver nodded and smiled!
"It's gonna be loads of fun and quite educational." She nodded. Fantastic! Bay was in the same year as Silver! "It's in Massachusetts." Silver replied and quickly added: "But I'm not from there, I'm originally from Rochester, New York."
This kid had a good sense of humor, Silver was easily drawn to people with good senses of humor.
Giggling with him she nodded. "I see, that's a very interesting background you go there." Silver grinned and lightly giggled again.

"Silver, that's a neat name. I won't go forgetting that and you can call me Lex, most everyone else does." She said with a wide grin spread across her face. Third Year too. Man. She remembered that year, how could she not with all the turnstiles and Dementor attacks?
Then there was a look, one Lex couldn't quite read...not at first....It became obvious and hahaha hilarious too because what? Signing her tie? The Fifth Year tried her hardest not to burst out laughing but the amused look was definitely there.
"I'd love to, honest....but see, that's a part of your uniform so...it's not exactly allowed." Wow, Prefect logic. She figured it'd take her a bit longer to develop that.
Silver understood and nodded. "I see, it's okay. I'll find something else you can sign before the term is over." She had a lot of time to that. Now that was going to be her goal, to get an autograph by Lex.
"Ginger snaps! I should have brought my camera." Silver quietly whined to herself, then turned to Lex and smiled.
This year was definitely going to be an interesting one!

SPOILER!!: Tessa
[QUOTE=UnicornDragonPatronus;11500003]Tessa nodded. "I would like that! It would be nice to have a former student show me around their school, instead of being transferred to it," she said with a laugh.
Sander grinned and nodded enthusiastically,"Well then if you're ever in my neck of the woods, send me an Owl and I'll be more than happy to show you around." he told Tessa.
.....that's if I'm still living in Norway. One could never know where he would end up in if he got drafted to play professionally.
Then he quickly shook his head at her next comment. "Actually the only time I like being alone, is when I want to clear my head and my other siblings refuse to be quiet. Then I just go take a walk in the woods behind our house. It's nice out there. Quiet and serene especially near the lake. Would you like to see a picture of where I live?" Sander asked Tessa. He always loved showing people where he lived. Not what he lived in because a house was just a house but he loved showing people the areas around it.
Then he laughed a loud again. He liked talking with Tessa. She had a great sense of humor. Sander knew that she knew he had made up the part about Badgers being mute, but he honestly didn't really know what sound they made.
Was it a whining sound or something like what a beaver would make....but what sound did a beaver make either. He chided himself for not noticing such small details like this. He knew that there were beavers and even badgers where he lived. He just had never asked them to speak with him.

Mitchell nodded. "Hopefully this school isn't any different. It would suck if my last two years of school weren't worth anything." he said. "Ah. Quidditch player. I've found out that is big here." Which he wouldn't quite believe given the other sports out there in the world. But whatever.
He grinned. It was nice to talk to someone who was so similar. "Perfect. I'm really good at it. It should only take me a day or two. You said sixth year, right?" Because he'd need to find one her age.

"My mom moved, so I came with her." he said with a nod. "But I came for a change of scenery too, I guess. And, wow, is it a big change."

"Hello!" Tessa called to the girl. "I'm Tessa, a new transfer here!" she called. "Are you in Sixth Year too?" she asked. She had always been a good guess at ages, but there was always room for error good thing she never did, though.
The speech had been made thankfully and it wasn't even that long. Truebridge was getting better with these speeches, in Penelope's opinion. Quick, short, and to the point so they could eat. Very smart. This Gryffindor approved.
And as she started piling some food onto her plate, Penelope realized someone was talking to her. She didn't think she'd seen this girl before, so she must've been a transfer, which was cool. Especially since she'd clearly been sorted into Gryffindor. And that was when the girl basically confirmed it, along with her name. And a sixth year? Their year just kept getting bigger it seemed, but that was also kinda cool. "Yeah, I am," she replied with a smile. "I'm Penelope. Welcome to Gryffindor."

And yes, he has pet a sheep before.
"Lady Liberty. She's there for a reason." A good one actually. "And yeah. I've seen both. I've been to plenty of zoos." True story. He's even pet a sheep! Yep. Back to the sheep. Maybe farm boy wasn't a bad nickname. Heh.
Marigold sent a glare to Mitchell. "I could totally leave. I'm just staying for your benefit." SO true. She even put a leg over the side of the bench, ready to make an escape an exit. She ignored the smile.
"I do know that. You do realize I actually listen to you, as much as I shouldn't." Gah. He annoyed her.
"Well I'm sure the badger has a reason too. Better than some green lady." Americans. Sigh. "Maybe because you belong in one?" Zoo, that is.

He grinned. "How sweet. I listen to you too." Ish. Mostly. When she was saying important things.
"Possibly, I guess. What do badgers even do though? You've got to admit that they're a pretty obscure animal." Yup. He was right. She couldn't deny that.
"Belong in what? A zoo?" Because he didn't. Unless it was a zoo full of awesome people. Then he might.

Tessa smiled at him. "Well, I'm sure I will be at some point- we've been all over Europe and North America. And, once I'm a Pro-Quidditch player, I'll be travelling even more. I'll definitely owl you," she told him with a grin.
She nodded, understanding but only partially agreeing. "I don't have any siblings," she told him with a forlorn smile. "But I think I can understand how they could be quite loud," she glanced over at her friends with a fond smile before returning her attention to Sander. "It is nice, but it gets so lonely... My Dad does a lot of his work out in the middle of nowhere," she explained. The woods were wonderful- for the first hour. Then she was ready for action and excitement- or at least more human contact.
"I would love to see it," she said, bouncing slightly as she leaned closer to him to see. "What else is around you? Are you in more of the country or the city?" she asked. She'd never been at a house for very long- or at least, not since she was very young.
She was glad she could make Sander laugh. She loved bringing out that side to people, but she also enjoyed the sound of his laugh. It made her smile just hearing it. "What are you thinking about?" she asked, tapping his forehead. "You look very deep in thought right now," she teased.

"Nah- from what I've seen, everywhere has a similar plan for education. You may relearn a few things or there may be things that you have to catch up on, but the general amount of it is standard," she assured him. Or at least she hoped- she'd never attended a school in England...
"Yeah, it's one of the biggest sports for Wizarding Europe," she told him with a grin. "Is there a sport you prefer instead?" she asked, mentally running through all of the American sports that she knew. There were quite a few, and a handful that were bigger in the US than in Europe.
"Excellent! Yup, Sixth Year," she confirmed. "How did you get so good at finding connections?" she inquired, raising an eyebrow. She was curious- it would be a good skill to have, after all.

Sander laughed. "So you're another one who loves this game called Quidditch too and you want to be a professional player? Well I want to be a professional player too only I'll be playing Ice Hockey. Who knows we may bump into each other at some sporting competition."
"No siblings and you have to travel a lot? It must be tough doing that. I mean it's good that you are able to make friends easily but it must be hard to say goodbye to them. It does sound like a lonely life....soooooo....let's make a pact. Whenever you get lonely, send me an Owl and if I'm near your part of the neighborhood, I'll stop by and visit. ....and some pictures of where he lived. Sander quickly pulled out a small book from his backpack and opened it up. He leaned closer to Tessa to show her some of his favorite pictures.
"I live more in the countryside. I like being out in the nature. City life can be so chaotic and stressful. Here's a picture of the lake that isn't far from where I live. " Sander pointed out the picture to her.
I love to go hiking during the summer and this is where I just sit and enjoy the view and lastly, this is a picture of the lake when it is frozen. I walk out onto the boat ramp and then I skate on to the ice from there. " Sander flipped the pages one by one.
...and that was his home.
Then for some funny reason she tapped his forehead which made Sander laugh even more before he caught hold of her finger with his own.
"Did I look like I was really deep in thought. You mean like this?" Sander quickly assumed the position of a famous statue.
"Or I was deep in thought like this?" Sander raised his eyebrows and made a comical face.
Then he grinned. "Actually what I was deep in thought about was I was trying to figure out whether I had ever heard a badger make a sound or not. I mean we have them in our woods. Then I thought about the beavers too and that I didn't even recall what sounds they made either." Sander confessed to Tessa.
"In all your travels, have you ever heard what sounds those two creatures make?" he looked at Tessa.

Except it wasn't all boys. Kace wasn't like this. It was only Mitchell.
Mmhm. She really doubted that he listened to what she said, but she didn't care. His loss, afterall.

Tessa nodded with a wide grin. "You could almost say I was born with a broom in my hand," she teased with a laugh. "I've always loved to fly and no matter where I go... that's one of the things that has always remained the same," she explained with a soft sigh. "And flying is the ultimate freedom," she added quietly. She blinked, coming out of her reverie as he spoke. "A Hockey player, huh? What position will you play? And I hope we would! And if we don't, I'm sure we'll have events in similar areas," she reasoned.
"Yeah..." she looked away, taking a breath so that she didn't go off on a rant about her father's work. It was interesting, it really was... but mainly to him. She looked back at Sander's suggestion and grinned. "Sounds perfect," she agreed with a nod. "And I'll say the same for you- if you're in an area where I happen to be, you can always shoot me an owl."
She hid a smile as Sander pulled out a photo album, but was quickly lost in the pictures that he was showing her. "How do you ever leave?" she asked him, slightly breathless at the beauty of the place. That lake would be so much fun to fly around- her mind always when to Quidditch, obviously. "It's gorgeous Sander, thank you for sharing."
Laughing, she made a face at him when he caught her finger. "That was close..." she said, smothering a laugh. However, she wasn't able to hold her laughter in at his second face. "I would say it was a cross between the two," she replied, breathless from laughter. It took her a moment to calm down again, and then she giggled at the reason he had been deep in thought. "Well," she replied thoughtfully. "I believe a badger makes a growling sound, but only when threatened, which can be followed by a screaming-like sound. It's terrifying if you don't know what it is," she said with a soft laugh. "And beavers... I think they make more of a 'chuck'-ing sound," she explained. But slowly, a grin spread on her lips. "I've also heard of badgers making this sound-" then she started to sing: "It's a badger, badger, badger, badger..." before breaking down into laughter once more.
Well Silas had not REALLY doubted which house he'd land in... he knew he'd die from shame if he were a Hufflepuff though. Hehe.
But in true McLaggen tradition here he was. BAM. Awesome had arrived. Everyone could behold it now. Heh. Sliding into a seat near the center of the table he picked up his goblet and took a swig. Then to no one in particular he said, " So. When does the fun start around this place? "

Sure enough, a streak of blue came flying out from under the table. Tessa managed to see it out of the corner of her eye and had reached out to catch the small creature before anyone could blink. "Is this who you were looking for?" she asked Bay, giving the pygmy puff a gentle scratch.
While Tessa cast her spell Bay looked around to see anything coming there way.. "He's coming." he said excitedly. Almost to the point of him jumping up and down.

With both Tessa and Bay close to her, Lux felt a little better about the ghost situation. "Thanks, Bay." The arm around her was rather comforting.
Lux waited in anticipation as Tessa took out her wand and performed the spell to get Ziggy back. At first she was worried that it would not work, or the little Pygmy Puff would get hurt.... but then she saw the streak of blue, and in no time Ziggy was in Tessa's hand.
"GO TESSA! You did it!" YAAAAY!! Ziggy was back!
Bay stuffed more food in his mouth because now he could start to relax. Ziggy was back and there was plenty of food. "I don't think your kit will be much good right now.. look at all this food" he was so happy that it had came.
Chicken.. gravy….corn.. it was like a thanksgiving dinner at his parents house.. he wasn't sure why he never got turkey but he didn't mind he loved chicken.
Bay was really happy that Cucumber was excited that Ziggy was back. "I know isn't Tessa the best" he matched Cucumbers excitement.

This kid had a good sense of humor, Silver was easily drawn to people with good senses of humor.
Giggling with him she nodded. "I see, that's a very interesting background you go there." Silver grinned and lightly giggled again.
"Oh your from New York, I've been there once with my family on vacation.. it was great.. too many people though" he commented.. he didn't like big crowds and New York had a lot of it.. "I got lost once or twice… but my parents always found me" he laughed..
Bay was starting to get quite tired.. he was looking forward to sleeping in a big warm bed. "I'm from London myself.. but my parents weren't born here. my mother is from Europe and my dad is from Canada..so I have family everywhere." This girl sure liked to giggle.. he liked that.. people who laughed were great in his books.

"Yes, that's true... his person is dead. But he, himself," she said, pointing at the ghost. "He's more like a memory," she said. "Do books scare you? Those are someone's memories. Think of him like a book you can interact with," she said.
Tessa laughed, holding the Pygmy puff securely, but gently, until Bay was ready to take him back. "I love magic," she said with a grin.
Keeping the ice to her head, Lux said that she was doing better. It was a good thing too, as she didn't particularly want to finish her first day of school with the Healer. She would much rather eat until she was sleepy, and then go to bed.
Looking at Sir Mick more closely, Lux was sure she understood what Tessa was saying, but not sure that it made her feel better about things. "Some books are scary." She had managed to read a few books meant for older people without her parents knowing....and some had really scared her.
"You are just the best, Tessa!" And that was the truth.

Looking at her survival kit, Lux shook her head. There was always need for Chocolate Frogs, so she disagreed with him on that point. The food in front of her was delicious looking, however, so after putting her ice down on the table, she began to eat eagerly. "I wonder of the House Elves would ever make me cucumber sandwiches if I asked them."
