Every match, EVERY single match. The Gryffindor was used to bludger hits but the ones this term were intensified by her rapid aging. It was a miracle she didn't break anything up there. Good Merlin!!!!
Landing was harder than she thought it'd be. After the bludger to the head, the sky was spinning, the broom was spinning, nothing was making sense. Circe knows how she'd managed to get through the rest of the game but now that the adrenaline rush was over, she felt she might have passed out. Uuuuggghhhhh. Lex made a shaky landing, wobbling a bit with her free hand tenderly rubbing along the now throbbing site of pain on her head.
Where was Benjy, she had a couple words for him. None she could remember at the moment, whether because of the hit or the aging.
Lex staggered forward a bit before regaining her balance. Hits to the head, not something she'd recommend.

Bart was feeling pain, major pain going up his leg. He wasn't sure if it was from all the old stuff going on or if it was normal after two bludger hits to the knee in two matches that his knee felt like it wasn't attached anymore. This match stunk and he was over it, just wanting to land and be done with it even if he did hit someone with the bludger. Beater wasn't his position and he was horrible at it.
Trying to make the land on one foot he came in hard and toppled to the ground. Bloody hell did he even have any bones left in his knee or did the damn bludger shatter his knee cap. UGH this wasn't his day at all and he sat in the grass not sure if getting up was going to happen. He felt he should, because captain pretty's last match and all, plus she got hit with a bludger, he didn't even protect his hot amazing captain. He was a huge fail today!

Vesper felt leagues more confident going into this match up. It was hard to explain why, really...but there was no unease. Seeking felt really comfortable (after the previous match)...weirdly enough. Tho, she'd never try to take Aidan's place. She was getting good at it...but he was better. Superior.
Ves was an Aidan Stone fan, obviously.
Perhaps what was making this more comfortable was the artistic eye...Mhm. The Ravenclaw was all over that tiny golden ball; ensnared by it's perfection. She wanted to draw it. Sketch its wings in action. Use pastels to achieve it's exact shade of gold. That made it more visible to her...somehow.
The fight for the final grab had been fierce, though...and the Gryffindor seeker seemed to be onto her little trick...but she was still able to close her fingers around it in at the last possible second. Ugh. HER GOLDEN BALL. NOT HIS.
MY PREEEEECIOOOOOOOOOOOOUSSSSS....
/girlish giggle
Vesper was still clinging to the small ball as she aimed her broom towards the ground; an astounding BEAM on her face. Someone....was going to have a Ves flinged at them...She just needed to decide who...because her peers were elderly now. That meant brittle bones. That meant she could accidentally kill one of them...with said flinging.
Hmm.
STARE. EVERYONE WAS GETTING THE STARE!!! "Who....wants hugs?"

With all the adrenaline, Benjy had barely noticed the bludgers hitting him, instead concentrating on sending them someplace useful at a red person elsewhere on the pitch. Come the whistle and Vesper's final snitch grab though, catching his breath had become rather more problematic than just this ageing thing.
That crack he'd heard? Yeah, must have been his ribs.
But really, who needed ribs? They were just bones...easily mended and all that. He'd broken them before, he'd most likely break them again. So, he just clenched his jaw a little at the pain, gave a small (one-sided) shrug at no one in particular, and then headed down towards the pitch, scanning the grass for a sign of the awesomeness that was the rest of the Ravenclaw team.
Aha, there was Vesper! He landed with a wince, and held his bat free hand up for a high five. "Good job!" he said, nodding to the golden snitch in her hand. And he could do hugs, if she wanted. Just gentle ones though please. Because he might pretend broken ribs were nothing, but there was a mighty fine bruise appearing on the right side of his torso.
And then he should go say something to Lex, who he spied not too far off. Conciliatory, because he had a bat, and she'd had a quaffle. Messed up, that's what it was (we're looking at you, Alice), especially after their conversation at the bridge.

Her last match at Hogwarts. Most captains hoped for the Quidditch Cup and such during their seventh year year, but this one just wanted a win. That wasn't too much to ask for from the Quidditch gods up there, yeah? Sadly, Rapunzel Black and Willow Kovac so weren't doing her any favors. Prayers unanswered, all she'd gotten was a few goals, a bludger to the elbow (which hurt like HELL, mind you), and last place for her team. No win.
Alice didn't land just yet. Of course, there were teammates to tend to and Ravenclaws to shake hands with, a Mo to congratulate, and a Selina in the stands to ambush... but she had to handle herself first. Getting her act together enough to make it off the pitch in one piece would be nice.
So instead of dismounting, the lioness just hovered in the air and marinated in that thought. Her last match at Hogwarts. Four years of captainship, a handful of games, and an even bigger handful of players. And it was over.
Welp. Needed hugs about now. Instead of seeking out a friend, Alice caught the Quaffle that had went through Brynn's goal hoop and hugged it. Yeah.

Oh. Benjy! Benjy could get hugs, mhm! He'd saved her life today...meaning he'd definitely earned it.
He didn't look to be in the best shape, of course...So, instead of flinging herself...like she wanted to do...she settled for gentle hugs. Ves could find West later and fling herself at him. He could always handle it.
"Thank you for protecting me." Well, the whole team...but mostly her. Bludger pain was intense...and Vesper was NOT a fan. "You saved the day."

She didn't have to look at him quite like that. He wasn't that fragile. Maybe. He was kinda intrigued to see if bruising was happening though, and how much, but otherwise he was ALL good. He even smiled to prove it.
His jaw clenched a little as she hugged him, but he just wrapped the arm away from the hurt around her, and nodded over her shoulder. "You're welcome, apart from the fact...well, it's my job up there." Or now seemed to be. Was he really that much better a beater than chaser? "As for saving the day...I'm not sure I can take credit for that. You're the one with the snitch, not me." Silly girl.

PSSSSSH.
Benjy did earn a blush for that comment, though. Compliments. The struggle was real (in accepting them). "I just did my best." BLUSHING! That's all anyone could do, really. But what could she say? Vesper loved that tiny golden ball.
The precious. Mhm. HERS.
...and then hugs were happening...and if her teammate didn't think she could see how ginger his movements were, he didn't know her. Ves was innately observant. "I'd see Dora if I were you. She's the one that fixes me up."...because Ves didn't go to the school Nurse. She had an inside connection for reasons.
After snuggles, she bounced back and poked his nose. "You're a beast with that bat, by the way." Meaning...he should probably stay in the Beater capacity. She hadn't been abused by bludgers. No one had...though...Alice was still doing that biting thing to her teammates. Why hadn't her teeth fallen out, yet?
Where was Marcus? He needed love, too.

It didn't matter that Mo was aching all over, or that he was about 100-years-old today, or that his temmates looked just as rough as he felt. None of that mattered, because they were brilliant and he was SO proud of them, and so he was just going to land his broom (hard, as always) and launch himself in their direction, hoping that elbows and knees didn't connect wrong and that he managed to sort-of-hug-but-not awkwardly-grope.
"VES. BENJY. WEWONANYOUAREBRILLIANT." Ves may have received a half-missed kiss on the forehead and Benjy got a fist bump to the ear, but he was EXCITED OKAY? GOOD GAME OKAY!?!
"Go love on the Gryffs, because they were fierce, and find Sophie and make sure she isn't sulking, and what happened to you, are you okay?" He was concerned and then he was done, because Benjy was a big boy and was gonna be fine. "Lemme say something to Alice."
Where was Alice? "FISCHER. Get down here, you brilliant and ridiculous creature." He may have stomped. And then winced about the stomping.
Hey, that was a pretty good game. Brynn managed a couple saves even if she still thought Captain Mo Marcus was a complete nutter for making her Keeper yet again. But still, all the Ravenclaws played well and they won!
Once the final whistle was blown, the redhead gingerly made her way down from the air to land on the pitch near her team. Or the tangle of limbs that was her team, group hugging or something. "Good game Captain," she smiled sweetly at him. "Awesome catch Vesper.. and Benjy.. you ok?" He got hit with not one, but two bludgers. So obviously he was hurt and she could see the pain in his face as she tilted her head to look at him.
And as concerned as she was about her own teammate, she didn't miss the bludger that hit her best friend. Brown eyes scanned the vicinity until they located Bart. On the ground.. Dragging her broom behind her, the first year made her way over to him. "Hey Bart.. you alright?" Her face was twisted a bit with concern as she held out her hand to offer assistance.

"Well, it was an awesome job," Benjy said with a nod. They really couldn't have asked for more than a win. And yes, he saw the blushing, but he didn't say anything. Wasn't his place to, really.
Go see Dora...to fix him up? "Maybe later," he replied, with a small shrug. If it was on Vesper's recommendation, he probably didn't need to doubt Dora's abilities, but at the same time, it seemed like that might be a tad awkward. Plus, he wanted to see the bruising in its full glory first.
And now it was time for Benjy to blush. "You reckon?" He wrinkled his nose as she poked it, before eyeing the bat held loosely in his left arm. "I guess I didn't do too bad." He was the only one that had been hit, right? "Josette was a great beating partner up there."
SPOILER!!: Captain Mo!

Oh, and there was Captain Mo! And more hug!type tangled thingymajigs. Though, he could do without fists to his ear, thanks Mo. Or whatever else it was. At least it wasn't his ribs though. "You too Captain," he beamed. The beating thing was definitely growing on him with all these happy faces.
"Yup, all good," Benjy said with a nod. "Just a bit of bruising, s'all." No need to worry about us, nope. And yes, he was going to go see Lex, wasn't he? "Aye, aye, Captain," he said with a nod. He'd quite happily go congratulate the Gryffs on a good game.
SPOILER!!: Brynn

Seriously, they didn't need to worry about him. It was nice and all, but it was a few broken ribs - no biggie. "I'm fine," he said, though if people didn't stop asking, he might not be soon enough. "Nothing some bruise paste and a bone fixer won't sort." He shrugged it off easily. "Great job in front of the hoops up there," he said with a gentle pat on her shoulder. "You look very much at home up there."
...
And with that said, he headed over to Lex. Was it him, or did she look a bit lost? "Good game," he said, holding his hand out for the traditional handshake - though he might risk pulling her into a hug afterwards. "Sorry you got stuck with Keeper again." For real. He felt bad for her as soon as he saw the line up.

Her last match... This was her last match ever on the Ravenclaw team, possibly even her last official match ever. And yet here she was, excited not only for herself but for her teammates because they had come together so well and had dominated in this, their last match of the season. Because Lily didn't want the experience to end, she flew around the pitch a couple of times before finally deciding that she should probably land. She could see a very excited Vesper clutching the snitch in her hand along with an ecstatic captain who had punched Benjy, who also seemed to be having a grand time. And then there was Brynn, the adorable little first year who seemed so excited to have won.
Slowly flying down to the ground, Lily landed with a gentle thud, a proud smile on her face as tears started to come. She couldn't believe this was it. It was all over for her on this pitch unless she failed and had to repeat, but that was never going to happen. The seventh year slung her broom over her shoulder and headed over to the other graduating player, Alice. "Good game, Captain. You really fought out there!" She said with a nod before heading back over to the celebrating claws just as the tears spilled out of her eyes. She was going to miss this team, the best team she could ever hope for.

There was the subtle feeling she might throw up and she wasn't sure whether that was from the hit to the head or the shaky landing after but it was only just there, hardly noticeable and she didn't think she actually would. This meant a trip to the Healer was in order, sooner than later. Lex wasn't too keen on having Alice try to get some other amateur to try healing her like last time.
It took her an extra second to register Benjy's voice, at which point she looked over at him. Lex blinked at the outstretched hand before taking it and giving it something like a shake. "Thanks." Though it was hardly good. She blocked nothing and got herself a concussion.
"Ehhh...I already knew I wouldn't be playing beater." So there wasn't a whole lot of shock, just resignation. She would not get to crack anything. "Nice beating out there. You took out most everyone on our team." And gave her a throbbing headache. Thanks. Thanks a lot.

He wasn't sure quite what Lex was doing with his hand, but it didn't feel like the solid shake he would have expected from her, nor a swat away to say she didn't want him there. A frown flickered across his face, before he pulled her in for a hug on his good side. He wasn't usually a hugging person, but he could make exceptions now and then, for sure. After Vesper and Mo, today was obviously a hugging sort of day.
She already knew? "Oh," Benjy said, not really sure how to respond. "You can hold my bat, if you like..." It was only a school one, and the match was over, but yeah...he was trying to help, okay? He'd probably even let her swing it his his direction, if she wanted to. He'd been used as a ranting bag by Garrick enough times in the past. At her compliment, he gave her a smile. "Thanks. I think I'm getting the hang of it." And it mean a LOT for Lex to say that, because she was one of the feistiest beaters at Hogwarts, and the one that first taught him how to play. He could tell the second part of her compliment was...well-worded though, shall we say? "Yeaaaah," he responded with a bit of wince. "I'm sorry about that... Did it get you bad?" He hadn't exactly been aiming for her, but he was pretty sure he had managed to send one in her direction. "I'll walk you to the hospital wing to get fixed up, if you want..."
