So, Lily was cold...and very wet with all the rain coming down in the storm. But the seventh year was very happy because she had been playing pretty decent and so were her teammates. And searching for Vesper was kinda hard to do while trying to help with the quaffle during the storm, so Lily was relieved to hear the whistle saying they had won.

They won!

Elated now that she knew the result of the wild snitch chase, Lily fistpumped the air before flying down towards the ground, landing with a little hop off of the broom, promptly falling over. Laughing a bit, she propped herself up on her arms before pushing herself up to a seated position. That last bludger had graized her ankle before Nigel pounded it away at Lottie, so while it didn't hurt much, it didn't seem to want to support weight. Using her broom as somewhat of a crutch, the seventh year stood up from the pitch and hobbled around looking for someone to either congratulate and celebrate or cheer up.

Wait. Wait one SECOND. They'd actually WON the game? The whistle had blown, the snitch was caught, and Mo was still hanging midair, blinking like an idiot. RAVENCLAW WINS! Yes. It was true.

Vesper was going to get all the love, adoration, free cupcakes, and endless supply of ink that she wanted. For real.

Mo skidded to the ground, dropping his broom as soon as his feet touched the ground. He yelped loudly and raised his hands over his head in victory. "EAAAAGLES!" Careful there, slugger... don't want to give yourself a heart attack.

Welp.

She didn't care about losing. Well, of course she did a little bit. Last term and all, y'know? She wanted the win for her team BUT they'd played well considering everything. Held the Ravenclaws back as best they could and managed to keep the score pretty low. Olly had done amazingly too. AMAZINGLY. And Lottie and Toby and the teamwork everyone had displayed had definitely shown. It just wasn't their day. And Vesper had been fast. Just... really fast. No surprise there. And after it all, Ella was still proud to be a Hufflepuff. She wouldn't change her team for anything. They were STILL amazing players and all was not lost, y'know? No use in crying or getting upset over it. Anyway...all these thoughts were pushed aside for the moment. It was Alec who she was concerned about. That's where her mind was as she landed rather ungracefully on the pitch and let her broom fall to the grass, left hand supporting her right wrist which was apparently hurt. When had that happened? She had dropped the quaffle a couple of times huh? Strange.

Looking around, the first thing she noticed were a couple of Ravenclaws and she smiled faintly at them. "Good game!" It had been. Really truly. No bad feelings there. Just concern for how her teammates were taking it.

Where was Alec, anyway? Boyfriend got hugs first. Then Tobias was getting a big one. Then team hugs? Yes? That was her plan, at least.

It all seemed like weird blurs of blue and gold during the match...but when Vesper finally latched onto the snitch that final time, everything in the stadium came roaring back into perfect focus. She was simply still, her hair tossed back in a braid, tousled and messy from the storm. It'd been her artistic eye that'd helped her to keep sight of the snitch, Ves was convinced. The tiny glints of light flashing off the small ball every once in a while had allowed it to stay in focus to her, contrasting in an interesting way to its stormy backdrop.

Mostly, she was amazed she'd been able to pull this off. Aidan was usually so fierce...and the Ravenclaw would've thought more about Aidan Stone...but in the next instant, a sharp pain had plowed its way into her side. Stunned by how sudden it had been, Ves flinched, nearly losing her handle on the broom. Had they NOT seen her catch the last snitch? Why were bludgers still flying? "HEY....." The word burst from her mouth similar to a yelp. "Are you lot BLIND.....?"

This aging thing was getting out of hand...

Aiming the broom handle towards the ground, Vesper attempted to carefully step off it...but that was a NO...as the moment one of her feet touched grass, she collapsed.

SIGH. Her knees were hurting so bad...BUT WHAT DIDN'T HURT WAS WINNING...and quite possibly the adrenaline still at work in her bloodstream. The golden snitch was clutched tightly in her right-gloved fist. HER SNITCH...

"WE WON."...Yep, casually shouting while her face was slightly mushed into the ground.

...

... ... Yeah. Just... yeah.

He didn't know how long he had been hovering in mid-air just staring out into the distance but, after a while, the boy finally shook his head and pointed the nose of his broom downwards. Landing sloppily but much gently than at the end of the last game, he stood there, completely lost in his daze. Secretly, he was now glad that it had been storming. It helped with thoughts, you know? Really.

But the team had done great. Finally coming out of his daze, he looked up and around at the teammates. Head Boy was proud. Did Olly realise how talented she was? Because if not, he was going to tell her. And Lottie too. And... just everyone. It didn't take long for a lump to form in his throat. General Kaid... wasn't going to be impressed, was he? How was he going to face that Captain of his?

... Right. He had Ravenclaws to congratulate. Because he wasn't a sore loser. And they had played brilliantly... BRILLIANTLY. Grey eyes glanced around the area, looking for the right Ravenclaw to head over towards. The fellow seventh year? He didn't know her well so...

... Mo. Ravenbro. Coming for you.

Shouldering his broom, Alec took a deep breath before heading over towards the Captain. A small smile flitted across his face because... look how happy the boy seemed! That was nice. That happiness. Yeah. "Hey... Mo?" he called, stopping near the Captain, "Erm... that was a really great game. Congrats on the win! You guys truly deserve it." And he held out his hand. Handshakes, yeah? Or hugs? Was he allowed to ruffle the lad's hair?

... And the Vesper girl had landed? He nodded in her direction and shot her a small smile. Fast, she was. Very fast.

They had won.

Which does not happen that often now a days. But was awesome when it happens. Better than a tie. Now the one thing Nigel wanted to do was lay down and make sure his stomach was okay.

Right in the stomach.

Every single time he keeps getting hit with a bludger. You would think Nigel was use to it by now. Getting hit in a different part every game. Still you can't get every bludger hit in a game. Nigel landed amazed by how fast Vesper was.

He could not really see well enough to know who he hit with the last bludger.

But he hoped he did not hit Alec's hair.

Marcus Branxton, Aidan Stone, Nigel Barrington. OH, WAIT, NO! SHE HADN'T MEANT THAT BLUDGER FOR VESPER! She was only trying to prevent it from hitting Alec, but then... sigh, Vesper. SO SORRY!

The Hogwartian was about to apologize mid-game (just to Vesper, the others needed no apologies), but then --OUCH. She would've assumed that it had been Kaiden the one who hit that bludger to her right side if it wasn't for the fact that he'd been on her sight the entire time. One can never be too careful, his aim is a bit off... most of the time, so she has to watch out for him as well, not just the opposing Beaters (Beater in this case, NIGEL in this case, just to make things worse).

The Beater's bat left her hand as the bludger hit her, and so did the balance on the school broom because one second later there was a THUD on the ground from a fallen Lotus. Fallen angel. A fallen Quidditch player who had to roll over to one side to prevent both the broom AND the bat from hitting her too, by the way.

....Hate.

Never mind how dramatic, that sentiment allowed her to stand, with a very annoyed look on her face. And yes, she was in pain, physical pain, but it's amazing how easily it can be ignored when something else takes over. It was all a game, though, surely, so she did her best and kept quiet. The annoyed look immediately gone cuz they ought to be good sports and whatnot, plus VESPER CAUGHT THE SNITCH! That was exciting! And Alec didn't get hit! That was brilliant! And she got to play Beater! Just imagine if she hadn't, though...

Someone will get the broom and bat from the ground, right? Because she couldn't actually bend down to get them and she couldn't use her wand either. Hurt, much? At least she was standing, yo! We're pretending things are cool. Who are we? Hugh?

Tobias was absolutely drenched, and freezing cold. This storm was ridiculous, but it certainly spiced up the game a little bit, right? Yep, he wouldn't be forgetting this one in a while.

When the whistle finally blew, Toby didn't realise it at first, being way off by the hoops and with the wind and everything, but he soon noticed and came into land, after having retrieved the quaffle.

It took a while to properly dismount from his broom; Toby was shivering and trembling, but in a GOOD way. The excitement of the match had been almost too much, and he was BUZZING.

"Congratulations Ravenclaw!" Tobias yelled over the sound of the storm. "Awesome game!"

Now he just had to go somewhere and... thaw.
