That only bludger she cracked; MER-LIN! There were jolts of pain running through the Gryffindors elbows as she descended, making a shaky landing. Surprizingly her knees felt fine even in their condition but the bones in her arm HURT.

She should have asked Alice to let her play Chaser, then hid behind the others. Surely her joints wouldn't hurt so much. Never put excessive force into a bludger when your bones are telling you NO. Where was the Healer? Her elbow felt BROKEN. It was her good elbow. How was she meant to write? Would Lottie take her notes for her? She already kinda was but did homework now come into the equation?

Lex sucked in a deep breath, trying not to think about the aches all over or the stabbing pain running through her entire arm, its source being the joint.

Oooowww. She might as well had been hit by a bludger! Sweet Circe!

Tiara had TRIED to blow the whistle, but the cold had made her so stiff that she couldn't really bend her arm in that direction to fish it out of her robes. "The yellow team wins!" she croaked out instead. Because... she couldn't remember the name of the House. It was Huff 'N Puff or something like that, though. Ohhhhh once I get back inside my office I'm going to lather on the analgesic again, she thought, even though she'd done it right before the match. And maybe drink that whole jug of prune juice. Mmmmm prunes.

Right. Were any players seriously injured? Tiara hoped not, because she didn't want to have to deal with any petty little pains like broken noses that would delay her getting to that prune juice. She tried to crane her neck around to survey the field but found that had seized up as well. Fine, body. Be that way. Instead, from 30 feet in the air, she leeeeeeeeeeeaannned over her broom to check below her.

But the whole body freezing thing made that a bit more than she had bargained for.

Tiiippiiiiiiiinggg....

"I'm flying!" she exclaimed with glee and a girlish smile on her face, attempting and failing to flap her arms like a little birdie as she entered a free fall.

It was bad enough that they'd lost the game, and the cup in turn, but what was Maroon DOING? Now was not the time to be a Gryffindor and play the damn hero! He could have scored a goal instead! And was he implying that Alice couldn't take a bludger herself? Hmm? Kid was in trouble.

But before chewing players out, she had to land. The seventh year practically rolled off of her broom, wincing all the while and trying not to whimper. Oww. Knees. Elbows. Joints. Everything felt swollen, and no doubt her arms were in searing pain. It was a feat in itself that she'd scored at all, but were a couple more goals too much to ask for? Really? Even Ravenclaw had bowed out with an 85, but... a ten. Ouch.

Obviously her fault.

"Bart? You okay?" She'd stay with him, 'cause she didn't want to shake Kaiden's hand. Bite it, maybe, but not shake. No thank you.

And why was there a talking bird in the sky?

Adeline flew down to the pitch, THEY WON! THEY FUGDING WON! The seventh year was so proud of herself, she had played in her very first match and they won and she an amazing job at it. She felt like she was seventeen again even though she didn't look like it and her body didn't feel like it at all. Gryffindor did put up a pretty good fight. Could she be young again? Like now! "WOOO! BADGERS!" Adeline cheered. Maybe she should stop because that wasn't nice to her to do since after the loss. SHE WAS JUST SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!

TWIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRLLLLLLSSSS.

THE GRYFFINDOR CAPTAIN WAS TRYING TO EAT HIM.

Tobias was wide eyed in the face of those gnashing teeth and had abandoned his goal hoops to avoid getting munched on by Alice Fischer. Luckily enough, the game ended almost immediately after, and Tobias freed his robes and headed for the safety of the...

Even though he was pretty sure the pitch had protective enchantments or something, Tobias found a sudden panic in him rise, and he flew towards the Quidditch official as quickly as he could, attempting to reach out and pull her onto his broom.

Oh Merlin...his head was ringing.

Loud noise....loud noise...LOUD NOISE!

Ben had though that maybe being away from the noisy crowds as he flew high above might have helped but in the end, not that much. He might not have even known he actually hit anything if he hadn't felt the impact from the beater bat in his hand with the bludger which seemed to shake his whole body. With the game called on the count of the Hufflepuff team, the second year figured he should probably return to the ground, preferably without crashing into it.

So slow and steady it was. The beater aiming slightly towards the cold pitch vaguely noticing another form already down. A vague notice that Ben managed to clear his team mate by a good several feet and he half-landed, half tumbled from his broom.

................................huh.

Olly continued to fly circles on the same spot, staring at Alec. Had he just...really, had he just...did they win? Did that mean they'd won? And, more importantly, DID THAT MEAN THE MATCH WAS OVER? Could she get off her broom now? Yes? Because all she wanted to do right now was take a hot shower. Or bath maybe. So she didn't have to put weight on her legs.

Yes, good idea.

Squinting slightly, Olly tried to make out the people on the stands. Without much success though. Schuyler'd come find her at the locker room, yeah?

Slowly starting her descend, her attention was caught by a rather swift movement to her right. Huh. Was that the Quidditch Official? What was she...?

Oh.

Olly stopped her broom so she was hovering in the air again and cocked her head slightly to the side. Huh. Was the Official falling off her broom?

"Whhheeeeeeeeeee!"

The fall only lasted for a few seconds, the ground rushing closer and closer for each one that ticked away. Finally the fun was done and the official had a lately very rare moment of extreme clarity. She was about to hit the ground.

"AHHHHH!"

THUD.

MOAN.

DOWN.. DOWN.. He was spiraling down quickly. At the last second Bart was able to pull up and land hard on his feet, but let himself fall to the ground. He laid there trying to catch his breath from the bludger in the gut. Merlin that stung worse than usual. He had been hurt many times, but it hurt more this time.


Feeling lame for losing and not scoring once the second year decided to just stay on the ground a bit longer. Finally getting up he had his arm over his stomach still catching his breath. They didn't win, but he played and he did save Alice from a bludger, that was something wasn't it? He thought so at least.

Looking around he wasn't sure to go to his team first or the other to say good game. So he just kind of stood there. "NICE PLAYING EVERYONE" There now everyone heard.

Well that sucked! They had lost! And he had played dreadful. In his defense though, how was he supposed to fly and catch a quaffle when this stupid beard kept getting in the way?

It was so long and fluffy. He was starting to look like Santa Clause. Only without the fat belly.

Michael directed his broom back towards the ground and when his feet was able to skim the grass, he dismounted. And it was by no means graceful. He kind of did a running dismount, stumbled and then fell onto the ground.

He got back to his feet and made his way over to his Captain, flipping his beard over his shoulder as he did so. "Sorry Alice. It wasn't a good day."

Obviously.

Well, that was disappointing.

When Kaiden purposefully kept her from the position of Beater she had assumed he'd do a better job than she probably could have. Only not really, she hadn't thought about this until now. So, what was he playing AT??? Why, of course. Quidditch.

Yes, you have made your point about being CAPTAIN, Kaiden Yarborough, we got it. No need to be so cruel. GRANTED, she had done well, so... no harm done. So did Olly, thanks for all the passes. Wink. And Alec, always. He gets no more winks, for reasons.

THEN THIS HAPPENED: The yellow team wins!

Uhm, no.

That was enough for Lottie, and she tore her eyes away from the Quidditch Official and barely heard a loud THUD as soon as she was on the ground. Well, someone fell off their broom, ob-viously. Can they all go now? Yes? There were plenty of smiles for Alice, by the way. Just as long as she kept her teeth away from Tobias and Alec, then everything was fine.

Oh, we almost forgot: Good game, everyone! Thanks, Bart, for the reminder. "Yeah, nice playing!" Fake!smile. Some of them did well, anyway. And no, Lex, we're not writing your homework.

And Toby was trying to be a hero and save the woman.

What a waste of effort.

Olly watched as the Quidditch Official continued to fall, despite Toby's HEROIC ACTIONS. And then she faceplanted with the ground. Yes, that looked painful. But it was her own fault for falling off her broom. Seriously, how was this person a Quidditch person? And it wasn't like she'd been hit by a bludger - right? So Olly wasn't going to pity her or look if she was in pain.

Speaking of pain, Olly had some of her own. Her legs felt as if they were frozen into the exact position they'd been for the last hour. Bent and on her broom. If she landed, would she be able to walk? Probably not. Could she just fly home? Up to the castle? She looked around herself and then back down to the ground.

To land or not to land, that was the question.
