The driver and snack lady sit waaaaaay up front in the driver's cab, but there are plenty of other compartments up here! Careful you don't sit in the Prefects' cab though. They bite.
You have bewitched me body and soul, And I love- I love- I love you

The blonde shook her head "not at all, Jellybean has this cute little noise she makes when she gets hungry and she loves playing and being brushed. She was the best pet I could have gotten. There were a ton at the adoption fair. "
"Ah, so this is the infamous Cutty." Sure, maybe infamous was a bit too dramatic of a word to describe him, but Adrienne had heard about him, and definitely not good things. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you," she said, sticking out her hand to shake. He was polite, more so than she would have expected, but she figured she'd best act in kind. "Adrienne Rebecca Colbert, Ravenclaw. Third year," she added, somewhat proud of the fact that she was still at Hogwarts after two whole years and hadn't blown anything up and gotten the boot or anything.
She caught his glance at Wilma, and moved to open the cage door. "She's new, I just got her at the whole Diagon Alley adoption thing. I was hoping for a kneazle, but their dumb form matched me up with this silly thing instead," she said fondly. She really did like the rat, and she was certainly a step up from her toad she'd had the past two years, who did nothing except for sit around and make weird burping noises occasionally. Wilma at least seemed excitable enough, and over the summer she'd managed to teach her to recognise her name and when she was being called (not that she always paid much attention to that.)
What had happened during the summer? What had he missed that others had heard his name and Tora was suddenly convivial company? Maybe it was only that Tora had told Adrienne of their various run-ins since they shared a common room 'n all. Cutty took the girls extended hand and gave it a shake. "No, no, the pleasure is all mine."
"Oh, yeah? M'moom went to that and brought back a puffskein. But she wouldn't let me bring it to Hogwarts. Said something about me not being attentive enough." She shook his head as thought the statement were ludicrous, though he would've been able to remember his mother's words more clearly had he not been selectively tuning her out. "It'll work out, though, it will though. Rats are more portable and adaptable. Not to mention easier to feed." Cutty was only good with animals when he thought he had something to gain by it. "Did I hear you speaking French a moment ago, Adrienne?"

Distractions that were definitely not even the reason for that.
He just had high hopes. Too high. Equipped with her cat in her arms, she found herself one of the first empty compartments she could and sat in it. Gemini went next to her, and then he crawled into her backpack with her panda ted. Comfy cat.
Dylan wandered about the corridor, peeking in each compartment for someone to sit with as he went. He wouldn't sit alone, since most of the compartments were full and he wanted someone to sit with. Train rides were boring when you were alone...although, he did have his cat Ginger but he also wanted a person to be with.
As he continued his search, the second year noticed an older girl sitting alone in one of the compartments. He decided to sit with her since she looked a bit lonely. Sliding open the door, he cleared his throat to get her attention. "Hi! Do you mind if I join you?" he asked with a smile.
Oh my Merlins Big Frilly Knickers. She was finally on her way to Hogwarts. And her stinking brother wasn't coming along either. She beamed, hugging her kitten close to her chest and she made her way to the front carts. She still hadn't found any of her friends. but that was okay. She would just have to make some new ones. Hmm. Oooh. Here was an empty compartment. She tugged the door open, and sat inside, setting her kitten down on the seat. "Now you stay there Sunshine." Because she couldn't lose her kitten already. Her mother would go mental.
Now to just needed to wait for some company...
The train was cool for the first few minutes, but it got to a stage when it really got boring staring outside a window the whole ride. Abbi would have stayed with Donny in the compartment but lately with his whole undying love for Elodie it was a bit much. Like really? Twelve and ALREADY in love? This girl knew better than that and she knew how to scare them boys away too.
Anyways a walk was a good idea and that was exactly what she did, looking for something more entertaining than a whole 'I'm in love" speech. Her first thought was to get some candy, but she had tons packed and didn't think it was clever to have plenty at once. It could go off and off candy was sad candy. So instead of candy the second year just walked about peeking at each compartment randomly.
Ohhh a firstie! And all alone! Poor firstie! Maybe she'd go inside? You know it would entertain her hopefully and the girl wouldn't be alone. So win, win for both? Yesh yesh.
"Hooola!" Abbi opened the compartment door and beamed at the girl with the kitty. Good thing Whiskers was with Donny cause know knew how he'd act today. "The name is Abbi." Campi...but no more fairy names, cause she had to act big if she wanted to be in the big girl's dorm and fairy names in public were a bit embarrassing.

The eleven year old was excited as he thought about those carriages he knew where pulled by something invisible, not knowing he had to go with the boat as a first year ceremony.
His parents told him stuff but not everything. Kevin looked around and found an empty compartment. He slided the door open and stepped inside as it fell close behind him again. Ah! Nice and quiet...this was boring! The first year sat down with his shoes on the seat. His parents weren't able to keep an eye on him anymore! He had freedom to do WHATEVER he wanted! And the first thing was... he grabbed a Liquorice Wand and chewed on it before he turned to his one bag that he had placed beside him.
Was he supposed to change in to his robes now or at school?
The walk was a long one and the longer the better because Abbi did need a breather and a break from her compartment so after speaking with that new girl firstie she headed even more closer to the front still peeking in the compartment windows every here and there.
Another firstie! EEEP! So many! Was she that cute too last year? She totally thought she was. Mhhhm. Cutie even with her 'belief' of cooties. Giggle snort.
Opening yet another door the secretive fairy stepped inside. "Sweeeetieeeesss!" No hello was needed yet? Cause sugar came first in this case you know? "Can I please have?" Puppy eyes and all...even though the kid was a firstie and meant to be the one with the eyes.
Lana just shook her head at Ascanius' comment. "It's true. I just know boys my own age. And my brother, but he doesn't even have any friends that come to our house so he barely counts." See?
"It's okay, though. Because there will be more at Hogwarts. In classes and things." Because Ascanius couldn't be the only one. She'd seen more on the platform. He just happened to be the lucky one to come into her compartment.
Speaking of classes, though... "What are classes like?" She was instantly excited again. "Are they fun? I bet they are. Do you get to use magic a lot or is it just learning?" These were important questions.
This brother. She kept bringing him up. He sounded like a loner and was probably unattractive. The ugly ones were home bodies, not that he could blame them after all. He was blessed, downright blessed with this jaw structure.
And she was right there. A lot of guys came to Hogwarts, which was a nice change from what he had heard about other schools. After all, there were more girls on the planet then blokes. Science.
What were classes like? His first instinct had him screaming out the word boring at the top of his lungs. Professors weren't inventive and, y'know, the students here ate textbooks as a past time. He was sure of it. But he couldn't very well say that, "They're alright. Yeah."

"Oh, he's an ickle firstie! How come he didn't come to Hogwarts?'' Adi asked curiously. Maybe it had been the little guy's decision but Adi knew if he had a sibling he would drag him or her to Hogwarts. And she did get him a souvenir! Cool! Even though he had just been joking about it. Hehe. Adi collected the mini Colosseum. "Thank you, Hazel! I've only seen this in pictures before.'' And if he couldn't see the real thing, at least he had a cool model! And most of them were in Hufflepuff!" She finished, proudly. "So I do have quite a lot of possibility in being sorted into that house."
Adi grinned. "I get that a lot. It's one of those Indian names. You know, those people from India. My mother was born there.'' And she wasn't afraid of toads! Great! "What about rats? "Never been there." Mitchell said after thinking about it for a few seconds. He'd been a lot of places. Just not anyplace as obscure as Kansas. Well... he assumed it was obscure anyway. He didn't know of anything that was in Kansas.
He nodded. "Third year here or third year in general?" he asked. Because if it was in general that meant they were in the same grade.
Level? Year?
What was it called here?
"Ah gotcha well i never been to New York either. But i heard it is amazing in the city. What can you do there?" he told Mitchell. Then Mitchell seemed confused. He smiled and replied, "I should have been more specific, i am a third year here at Hogwarts. But you look like you can be in the same year as me at least i think?" he said being unsure.

No you can never know how a woman felt about you. He had been trying to send out feelers trying to figure out whether Calisto had feelings for him...deeper feelings than just friendship....something that started with the letter L.
"Yes women can be complicated. Well I guess I'd better head on to the back of the train. Mika and I are sharing a compartment along with Huxley and another Alex.." Sander chuckled at the mention of his name twin.
"Maybe if you're stretching your legs and are heading in that direction, why don't you stop by. It was nice chatting with you. Catch you later." Sander stood up, stretched his body and then headed out of the compartment giving Kace a wave before heading back down the corridor to the back end of the train.
"Awesome.." he said nodding. They shall have a skate day sometime in the winter. He was excited. Then he saw Sander getting up to leave to chat with his other friends. He nodded and said following him, "I will actually come with you. I need to stretch my legs."
He left the compartment and walked with Sander to the back of the train waiting to meet new friends.
"Oh, yeah? M'mom went to that and brought back a puffskein. But she wouldn't let me bring it to Hogwarts. Said something about me not being attentive enough." "It'll work out, though, it will though. Rats are more portable and adaptable. Not to mention easier to feed." Cutty was only good with animals when he thought he had something to gain by it. "Did I hear you speaking French a moment ago, Adrienne?"
Adrienne gave Cutty a slight smile, although she had to admit being cheerful was already getting on her nerves and she'd hardly been on the train for a minute. It was hard work, too, and she was considering going back on her resolution for a better year and flopping into a lying-down position, ignoring the other inhabitants of the compartment. She managed to restrain herself, however, if only because she didn't want to make a scene.
She nodded disinterestedly at his next comment, trying (and failing) to look even slightly intrigued, but she was finding out more day by day that she really couldn't care less about the little ins and outs of other peoples' lives, or the little tidbits of information they always wanted to share. Adrienne simply let his words pass in one ear and out the other, not refocusing until Cutty mentioned French.
"Mais oui, monsieur," she replied. "Just got back from France, in fact, been there all summer. Why, do you speak it?" It would be great to find someone she could speak French with- she'd tried with some of the Beauxbatons people from last year, but nobody had seemed to want to talk to her at all.
ooc translation: Along the lines of "That's right!"
Mack smiled as she watched her new friend as she held Jellybean. "Don't be nervous, you will love it there!" She thought back to her first train ride to school and how much she had enjoyed it. "You'll make tons of friends and hopefully you'll be in Gryffindor and we can hang out and I can introduce you to people" The blonde grinned
She turned to the girl who had entered the compartment, "So what year will you be?" she decided she would forgive someone for being rude once. I mean since she didn't know the girl.
Raven was a bit miffed at the hint of rudeness coming from Mack. She had just asked to sit in the compartment, not as if it was crowded. Or maybe it was her gothic looks (pale face, black hair, and black scarf) that the other girl didn't like.
So she had been sitting silently as the two girls talked to each other, but then to her surprise Mack addressed her. "I am going into my fourth year. My first year at Hogwarts was my second school year in all. And you?"

SPOILER!!: Kace
Kace was leaving the compartment, he heard a familiar voice. He turned around and smiled. He knew that guy. It was Bart. He met him in Diagon Alley during the summer. He remembered it quite well. "Hey Bart! Oh nothing much just excited for the new year." he shrugged like it was no big deal. "Oh i do not know if anything is happening up here. I am not the one with the intel." he smiled.
"Oh the rest of my summer? Well i just went to sports camp to play soccer and american football. So i mostly stayed active while i went on a cruise with my mate's family for 7 days to the Bahamas. It was quite fun. It went by too fast." he said remembering the memories. Then he asked the dancing moments and he chuckled. "Well no dancing moments but i am down if you still wanna dance at Hogwarts."he offered his bud.
He mentioned Professor Airey. Kace smiled and agreed with Bart. "Yeah he is pretty cool. I like him as a teacher. He teaches you a lot. He teaches Astronomy and his name is Professor Airey. That is what he likes to be called."
Excited about the new term? “Why? It’s just learning and homework fanfreakingtastic.” He shrugged pulling out one of the cake cauldrons he had just bought. Taking a bite they were good. With his mouth full and held another out, “want one?” wiping his mouth as crumbs feel from his lips.
“American Football?” He looked at Kace as if he was growing snakes for hair. “Must be muggle I take it.” He knew some muggle, but nothing with that name. Cruise there was another word, “What’s that?” Now he had heard his mum talk about the Bahamas but she was talking about wanting to portkey there sometime. He couldn’t help the smile, “Of course I’m up for it. Maybe others will join in that could be fun.” They did in the street during the dare so maybe they would again. That would be epic and all.
Bart just looked with a blank stare when he started rambling about Professor Airey was it? [/b] Well that’s cool. What other professors seem that fun? Or which ones aren’t?”[/B] He needed to know these things before going into the classes. What was he up against.
When Tora heard Cutty's mention of a holiday across the pond she was, admittedly, intrigued. She knew that she wasn't the only one who went over to North America over summer, but she also knew it wasn't overly common and that she was a special enough case. She was about to ask a genuine question about what he had been doing in Canada when the door burst open and an extremely cheerful person speaking French popped into the compartment. Tora thought the person was saying something like "my friends!" but was a bit confused until she saw who was speaking.
Adrienne! She hadn't seen her friend since she had left for France at the beginning of the summer. The sight of here now brought a smile to Tora's face and she scooted over to allow room, forgetting Cutty for the moment. She was about to say hello in response but Adrienne beat her to it with her introduction to Snake. Tora waited for her moment to pop in, but couldn't really find one and so just asked a question of her own for Cutty that stemmed of the language question Adrienne asked. "If you do speak French, wouldn't it be French Canadian? You said you went up there for the summer," she turned her curious attention towards the boy sitting across from her.

She could sketch people as they walked by, which was always a fun option, or watch as people got into train compartments with their friends. But the first one seemed like the only good option. And so she got out her sketchbook and looked for a person that woul be near her in compartment, puffing her cheeks out as she waited. And she might've actually found someone, if a person hadn't been knocking on the compartment door and ruined her train of thought. Which never really left the station.
Who was that? It was someone she never met! And unlike meeting her older brother's friends, it was actually someone her age. Her small annoyance was quickly camoflauged by a smile. She didn't get to talk to people her age that much! Yeah, homeschooling stunk sometimes. Anyway, boy-someone-her-age was here. And the redhead was pretty sure he asked her a question.
"Yeah, come in!" And with that, Caelen crossed her legs on the seat, making extra room for the boy who's name she didn't know. She straightened her stupid bangs -force of habit- and moved her journal over to her right so they could actually have a conversation. Because, she read that it was rude to be doing other things when people were talking. Man, she had a lot of people to apologize to then. Um, anyway...
"Thanks," Caleb said with a smile. As he took a seat, he wondered again if he should go look for Sophie - nah, he didn't think that'd be necessary. He'd get there eventually. What could she possibly be getting up to while he was being social and finding new friends?
"I'm Caleb, by the way. Second year Slytherin. You?" he asked. He wondered if she was in his year or not - it was hard to tell sometimes. People who looked like they could be first years were actually third years. You never knew!

Haruka tuned out as she imagined New York after listening to Silver's description. It sounded amazing! She'd been to Tokyo, sure, and it was pretty amazing in it's own right. But New York was something else! "Wow!" She whispered. Haruka realized that she'd spaced out and shook herself back to life.
"So, do you know what house you're going to be in?" Haruka asked.
"Hmmm--no. Not really." Silver, still couldn't decide which house she wanted to be in. "My momma was a Ravenclaw and my daddy was a Gryffindor, so hopefully in one of those houses." She nodded. There was definitely one house she did not want to be in, but that was irrelevant.
"What about you? What house would you wanna be in?" Silver smiled at Haruka.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

He had heard the word football before, but was it the same thing? “Why would you want to be on a ship so long when you can just portkey and be where you need to be?” That was just odd, really stuck on a what was it boat? Yeah weird.
“Maybe Professor Flamdude can make us foxes again.” That would be perfect to do the song and dance around all cool and stuff. SO there would be new professors, well Bart could welcome them as if he had been there before they wouldn’t have to worry about that. He would make sure they felt as welcomed as he did.
Bart looked at him curiously, “Exploring the castle, but you’ve been there for a few terms. Don’t you know the castle by now?” That seemed odd to him, but maybe it was just that big and that excited. He couldn’t help but feel some excitement rise thinking of the possibilities. Taking another bite of his cauldron cake these things were great he was glad Kace wanted to have one too.

To be honest, he didn't know the castle by heart. "Yeah i have been there for a few terms, but the castle is SOO huge that there is always surprises for me to explore." he told Bart. Sometimes he would explore new paths whenever he would go to classes. He couldn't help it, he was naturally curious.
As Kace was biting into his cauldron cake and swallowing, he asked the little dude, "So i see you got into the candy from the food trolley. Which ones have you tried besides cauldron cakes? Did you try the pumpkin pasties? or Fizzing Whisbees?" he asked him curiously. He wanted him to try all the candies.
When Bart mentioned surfing and skating, he was impressed. "Wooaah this is nice dude! i wanna learn how to surf. I mean i tried but i landed flat on my back when i tried to ride the wave." he grinned sheepishly and chuckled. "Oh and american football is like... well..the main object, is to score more points than your opponent. There is an offense and a defense. The main scoring occurs if either team crosses the opponent's goal line, by running the ball across, or by throwing it to a teammate who catches the ball, not allowing it to touch the ground until firmly in possession of the ball. The touchdown is 6 points. But that is the main part, i can go into so much more." he told Bart trying to keep it short for him.
He chuckled at Barts observation again. "Well you wanna be on a ship for that long because it is fun. You don't have to cook any meals. You can eat as MUCH as you want. You can go shopping and go rock climbing and play sports. You can go to clubs and be alone from your parents. You get more freedom." he grinned at Bart hoping he understood the concept.
"I think we should get the professor to make us foxes again. That would be totally epic." he agreed liking that him and Bart were on the same page.

Lily moved swiftly down the hall as the train moved along, hoping to find a friend or at least someplace to sit with her owl. Upon seeing a spot in one of the compartments, the redhead slipped inside, sticking her owl on the ground between her feet. She didn't even look to see who else was in the compartment because the train seemed to be not too far away from the school. It wasn't until she was completely settled in the seat that she noticed there was someone else in the car. Giving the other person a smile, the seventh year turned her attention to the hallway, which seemed to be billowing with activity.
