The driver and snack lady sit waaaaaay up front in the driver's cab, but there are plenty of other compartments up here! Careful you don't sit in the Prefects' cab though. They bite.

So... going through a wall. Not as bad as he thought it would be. Of course, he didnt have a lot of time to gather his thoughts before taking it on. That probably helped. He couldn't imagine knowing about it for years and then having to do it.
Nope. This was way better.
Now he was on the train. He walked a few feet before going into one of the empty compartments. He put his trunk in it's place and took a seat. When was food time? He was hungry.

The thing was chasing him! The boy ran as fast as he could in the train corridor, afraid to be caught by the creature. It was his good luck that he left his trunk and stuff at the luggage place. Otherwise he would have been too slow and the evil creature would eat him alive.
It could still eat him alive.
He could not keep running this way. He had to hide himself. Moreover, he was getting tired. His legs were not used to running around that much. Not to mention running around in a narrow train corridor was very difficult. The creature was agile. It was coming for him!
With a deep breath, he threw himself into a compartment and closed the door. Phew! Maybe the creature would not be able to make it in here. He let out a relieved sigh and turned around only to see someone already occupying the compartment.

Mitchell blinked. Several times. Um. Okay. Hi?
"You alright?" the New Yorker asked looking his new compartment buddy over. "Looks like you've been running." Should he be worried?
He turned his head toward the door as if expecting something to enter in at any second.

Gareth needed his time to catch his breath. So even though the boy, the true owner of the compartment, spoke, he could just stare at him while he took in deep breaths. He coughed a few times then took a few more deep breaths before closing his eyes and dropping himself against the compartment door with a sigh.
He nodded as he swallowed down the lump in his throat. "I think i am fine now."
He though he had been running!!! Oh...that was because he had been running!! His eyes widened. "There's this thing outside. It wants to get me! It will hurt me!!''

Elodie would have spent the latter of her summer arguing that she needn't go back to Hogwarts and she could just transfer somewhere she wouldn't have distractions. Distractions that, according to her brother, had been the reason she wasn't wonderful and gifted with her wand and that she hadn't gotten the grades HE wanted her to get in her exams. Distractions that were definitely not even the reason for that.
He just had high hopes. Too high. Equipped with her cat in her arms, she found herself one of the first empty compartments she could and sat in it. Gemini went next to her, and then he crawled into her backpack with her panda ted. Comfy cat.

Arwen walked to the front, per her sister's advice. Sarassi said the back and Nerida said the front, so of course she picked the front. Sarassi was more of the crazy one so Nerida's advice it was. She wished she could have went to Hogwarts for all seven years but her father was crazy at times after her second year she had to go to France and go to that school, all because Hogwarts was not a safe place. But of course her last year her mum would finally convince her dad and she could go back to Hogwarts.
Yay... Even though she had made friends at the new school and she had to make more now. Dad, why did you have to be so stubborn??
Walking past one of the compartments she saw only one person. Perfect. She entered the compartment with a smile.

Hazel walked past a few compartments before finding an empty one. She stepped in and took the seat beside the window. Boy, was she excited for a new year at Hogwarts. She wondered who she'd see. As fun as her summer had been, she couldn't wait to get back to another year at school. Oh, of course! Foot. Asleep. Ouch! She got up and started dancing around the compartment, shaking her foot to get it awake again. Yup, a great start to the train!
Caelen had somehow wandered up to the front of the train, looking around for any empty compartments. She wasn't being anit-friendly -okay, she kind of was here-, but she was tired and wanted enough room to stretch out and sleep. And she figured she was early enough to get that wish. Thank goodness too, because she couldn't deal with Nate with less than seven hours of sleep. She was going to explode.
But she just couldn't sleep last night! The redhead was too busy packing for Hogwarts and reading whatever part of the books she could understand. Yes, the kid had spent last night packing for Hogwarts. What could she say, she was too busy taking in Diagon Alley to actually pack when she was there. And then she had to go back to Nate's house and was too busy doing... everything else. So maybe she had a short attention span. Didn't all eleven year olds? Seriously, didn't all eleven year olds?
Anyway, she entered the compartment and sat herself down, flicking some mud off of her sneaker absentmindedly and waiting for people to arrive. To pass the time, she grabbed her jelly bean bag again and threw them up in the air, one by one, and tried to catch them in her mouth. She got almost all of them. Oops. One actually hit her forehead, making Caelen fix the bangs and make them go straight again. Though she hated them. Seriously hated those childish bangs.
When the game was finished and the dropped beans were picked up from the floor, the kid took out her journal and opened the journal, ready to write an entry.
Dear journal,
I'm on the train to Hogwarts for the first time ever! I'm incredibly excited for the adventure but I'm bored because I have to wait for everything! Mom says that waiting is a part of life, but if you ask me it's the most boring part. I already ate all of the jellybeans I bought in Diagon Alley. Diagon Alley is a place where there's a bunch of stores that sell wizarding stuff. It's where I got all of my school stuff. I think I got a vomit jelly beans by the way. I almost actually gagged. EWWW!
I'm waiting for Nate, because he's supposed to sit with me. But I kind of want him and his 'friends' to sit in another compartment and let me sleep. But I also want to talk to people. Just not right now. It's kind of complicated.
Caelen finished the entry and closed the book, putting the glitter pen she got from the Scribulus shop into her pocket. She was afraid she'd lose it if she didn't and she really wanted to keep the pen. She loved glitter after all. It was one of the only girly things about her, in fact.

HOW did the train get THIS packed already? Caleb thought he'd been one of the first ones on the train but apparently not. Whatever. He didn't care. He just needed to sit somewhere and think about anybody but that silly girl they met on the platform. Who hopefully wouldn't bother them anymore. Although would that be such a bad thing?
Finding a relatively empty compartment, Caleb stuck his head in and knocked. Ok, young girl. His age maybe? "Hi. Can I sit here?" he asked, pointing to the seat across from her. She looked like she was reading or something, hopefully she wouldn't mind!

Walking back to the front of the Hogwarts Express, Leah looked at compartments, some empty, some packed with people, and she finally reached a compartment with only one girl inside. The girl seemed only a few years older than her. She was doing a... weird kind of dance routine.
Leah walked up to the girl bravely and asked, "Hi, can I sit here? Or do you have other people sitting here with you?" Then, thinking it would be polite to introduce herself, she added, "I'm Leah. First year."

Kace was looking around the front car. He didn't know what compartments were filled or opened yet but hey it was good to look right? He was looking and looking hoping to find people on the way there to meet up. Maybe some friends he didn't speak to all summer, or possibly find some new ones.
He even peaked into some carts and noticed people laughing and such. He smiled and was glad to be going back to Hogwarts.

Since this was the first time Sander had been ever on the Hogwarts Express, he decided to explore it....and the best way he knew how was to walk it from front to back.
So here he was at the front of the train, and he could tell that it was starting to get full as he peaked into some of the cars. Then someone caught his eye. He remembered seeing him at Diagon Alley when he had met up with Jackson and Alyssa. This boy was the brother of the girl, Alyssa had been hugging.
Poking his head in, Sander grinned at the boy.
"So I see you managed to finally ditch all the older girls and are now here all independent on your own. Do you mind if I take a seat for a few minutes. I'm doing a thorough exploration of the train." he told the boy.
"I'm not sure whether we were introduced. You can call me Sander." Sander stuck out his hand to shake the younger boy's.
Actually he had a great memory, and he doubted that they had indeed been officially introduced.

Melek got on the train and looked around. Her face lit up when she recognized the guy she so happened to almost ran into. "Kace!" Mel beamed at him, "Hi!" The girl giggled and smiled at him. She was looking around for Anna though and accidentally dropped her diary and ink. The ink started to spill and her eyes grew. "Drat!" Her face grew red out of embarrassment and she stood frozen, not sure of what to do. Melek just wanted to disappear and she looked at Kace with a wide-eyed deer-in-the-headlights look.

Melek bumped into a boy as she tried to rush away after cleaning up her mess. She mumbled an apology and an excuse me and tried to get away from the front so that she could hide out and just be invisible for the time being. Tears started to form in her eyes as she tried to rush. Ink got on her face as she brushed back a loose piece of hair that had gotten into her face. Her head was bent downwards and she felt horrible.

Sander was just about to walk into the compartment when a younger girl bumped into. She seemed distraught. He looked inside the compartment and noticed a mess on the floor. Then he looked back at the girl.
He quickly knelt down and stopped her in her tracks...making sure that he didn't get any of the ink that she happened to have on her hands on him.
"Wait don't do that. You'll get ink all over your hair. What happened here? Hey it can't be that terrible. Here you can take my handkerchief and put it to good use. Wipe the ink from your hands." Sander told the girl.
One thing Sander knew what to do was handle little girl problems having two younger girl siblings of his own.
Looking back inside the compartment, he tried to catch the little girl's eyes.
"What happened in there? Are you okay?" he tried to console her.
He was going over the inventory as he finalized his decision to not call-in the recognition for having made Cassia Somerlad prefect. Not yet. Because OF COURSE she was prefect, wasn't she? How could she not be? The boy was making over-confident assumptions. Oh, and he so thought he really did do something there by putting the idea -sort of- into Cassia's head and shamelessly name droping her to Lafay before the former Potions Mistress's untimely departure.
Hehehehee. This fool.
Lafay. H'mm. They would have a new head of house, which meant that everyone would be sucking up to him...or her. Which meant that Cutty wouldn't. And he alone knew why. The jelly slugs, a greater supply of chocolate frogs for Cambridge and of course Fizzing Whizzbees for Charlie Tudor as well. He made sure to have enough to last through the first Hogsmeade weekend when people could visit Honeydukes. He needed to work on his new advertisement for his wares as well.
The dark haired boy took a seat near a window in an empty compartment, looking deceptively placid as he peered out of said window.

Oh my Merlins Big Frilly Knickers. She was finally on her way to Hogwarts. And her stinking brother wasn't coming along either. She beamed, hugging her kitten close to her chest and she made her way to the front carts. She still hadn't found any of her friends. but that was okay. She would just have to make some new ones. Hmm. Oooh. Here was an empty compartment. She tugged the door open, and sat inside, setting her kitten down on the seat. "Now you stay there Sunshine." Because she couldn't lose her kitten already. Her mother would go mental.
Now to just needed to wait for some company...

A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
The front of the train was the place to be. He knew this because his parents had told him once that when the train arrived at the platform, this place would stop closest to where the carriages were so he didn't have to walk the length of the train. The eleven year old was excited as he thought about those carriages he knew where pulled by something invisible, not knowing he had to go with the boat as a first year ceremony.
His parents told him stuff but not everything. Kevin looked around and found an empty compartment. He slided the door open and stepped inside as it fell close behind him again. Ah! Nice and quiet...this was boring! The first year sat down with his shoes on the seat. His parents weren't able to keep an eye on him anymore! He had freedom to do WHATEVER he wanted! And the first thing was... he grabbed a Liquorice Wand and chewed on it before he turned to his one bag that he had placed beside him.
Was he supposed to change in to his robes now or at school?

Adi was in search of a compartment. And his friends, if he could find them in all the chaos that was excited students. With Gus the toad riding on his shoulder, the second year pushed his way through chattering persons as he kept an eye out for familiar faces. That was when he spotted Hazel.
Happy to see his friend, Adi slid the door to the compartment open. "Hiya, Hazel! Remember me?''
Having ditched his luggage, Benjy poked his head into the compartments looking for a familiar face. ANY familiar face.
As luck would have it, there weren't any. None of the quidditch team, no Lex or Lottie, no cousins...nope. only (in his opinion) firsties. Sigh. Firsties in otherwise empty compartments. He could, of course, walk to the other end of the train, but that required energy and right now he was feeling particularly lazy. So he was going to be vaguely sociable and if that didn't work he could try the 'scary sixth year' thing. Oh yes.
Which was possibly why he stopped at a compartment with a lone girl (Grace) in it. "Anyone sitting here?" he asked, running a hand light through his hair. It was gradually growing out from where he'd had his dreadlocks cut out, but it was far from the length it had been.

Caelen was now officially bored. She was sitting by herself and she had already written an entry for the train. She had eaten all of her jellybeans and she knew she should've gotten that book out of her luggage before she shelved it. And now she had nothing to do. She could sketch people as they walked by, which was always a fun option, or watch as people got into train compartments with their friends. But the first one seemed like the only good option. And so she got out her sketchbook and looked for a person that woul be near her in compartment, puffing her cheeks out as she waited. And she might've actually found someone, if a person hadn't been knocking on the compartment door and ruined her train of thought. Which never really left the station.
Who was that? It was someone she never met! And unlike meeting her older brother's friends, it was actually someone her age. Her small annoyance was quickly camoflauged by a smile. She didn't get to talk to people her age that much! Yeah, homeschooling stunk sometimes. Anyway, boy-someone-her-age was here. And the redhead was pretty sure he asked her a question.
"Yeah, come in!" And with that, Caelen crossed her legs on the seat, making extra room for the boy who's name she didn't know. She straightened her stupid bangs -force of habit- and moved her journal over to her right so they could actually have a conversation. Because, she read that it was rude to be doing other things when people were talking. Man, she had a lot of people to apologize to then. Um, anyway...
