She moved to help the girl pick up her fallen things. "Nice to meet you, Emily. I'm Lux... the Puffer." She laughed, not taking any offence to being called that. |
Quote:
Jun raised his eyebrows. "Hold your breath for a long time, and secret powers. Seems like you can have a fun life," Because powers in general were fun. |
Quote:
Shrug. "It's very nice to meet you, Lux. So sorry it had to be during one of these embarrassing times.I totally owe you one" She giggled. "So, what brought you out here in the cold?" |
Quote:
"I vould like that." she spoke quietly, glancing towards the blond professor with a small smile. Dark eyes lit up a moment later as a thought occurred to her before she scooted around and sat crossed leg next to him. Her jeans were already snow soaked. A minute more wouldn't kill them. "This reminds me. I haff something for you." |
Quote:
"You...do?" he asked. He probably should sit up for this, right? Probably. Pathetically, he reached both hands out towards her. "Help me up first?" |

And nerd? With a small groan as he rose like a zombie out of the snow, he found enough balance to be able to let go of her hands. "Bl....bla....blagador....bludgeradaryo tu?" he asked while squinting at her. That didn't sound right at all. He was trying, okay? |
Quote:
Catching herself before she fell back wasn't the only thing she had to try and catch. Hearing Airey attempt to speak her language was as foreign to her as she was to this country at first. Without the lost and confused feeling though. His at least trying warmed her from head to toe with delight. Snow be forgotten! "Blagodaria ti." She corrected softly with a small giggle, reaching in her pocket for the special something. "Or just...blagodaria." He'd been close enough. Permanently smiling by now, cheeks still a bit rosy from the weather and a twinkle in her eyes, her hands covered a little something as it was pulled from her coat pocket before she reached them out in front of her. "Hold out your hands." |
Quote:
Her smile definitely made his teeth stop chattering though. "Okaaaaaaaaaay..." he said as he timidly held his hands out towards her, cupping the air and catching some of the falling snow in his hands. Why hadn't he worn mittens? His joints wouldn't be aching so much if he had them on. |

An egg! ... Surprise! |
Quote:
His blue eyes followed her movements, ears and cheeks reddening from the fact that she remembered his birthday more than the cold, and widened a bit when he saw... "An egg?" he asked, raising an eyebrow at her. Award for the weirdest and more anticlimactic gift ever goes to you, Medea. Had she heard about his Big Bang lesson from students? Ooooooooooooh.... "Do I...need to crack it open?" On her head maybe? Heh. |
Quote:
Unknown yet amusing. "Perhaps." |
Quote:
He wasn't going to do that though, no matter how tempting the thought was. Looking around for something hard, he found a rock and reached over to grab it and then tapped the egg against it until a crack appeared. It WAS alright that he did that, yeah? He scooted his body around a little so that he was facing her and held the egg in both his hands ready to pull both halves of the shell apart. "Should I be doing this....or catching whatever is inside?" |
Quote:
Eyeing the egg, her suspicious thoughts disappeared once it was cracked against the rock. Having said nothing to stop him from doing so, she went back to fiddling with her hands, anxious for him to pull the two halves apart. Almost there! Almost. Her thoughts stumbled over his question. "Oh, um....actually, here. Hand it to me and hold your hands out." |
Quote:
Again, he was tempted to just tear open the egg and make her catch whatever was inside, but he instead played by the rules and handed it to her before cupping his hands in the air again with a somewhat pained expression on his face as the thought of raw egg in his hands made him squirm. |
Quote:
With her ears still ringing from possibly one of the most adorable laughs she'd ever heard, she gently took the cracked egg, making sure she held it over it's intended target. Yup, this was better. Was he ready? Because she was ready! Skipping the entire fake maneuver of opening the egg upon his nice jacket, her thumbs cracked the egg a little more until she pulled the two halves apart. A stream of what looked like fairy dust enchantingly poured out from the inside and into the astronomy professor's hands, hovering just a mere inch from them and forming into that of the wonders of space. It may have been no celestial snow angel, but it was wonderful all the same. |

But then something AAAAAAAAAAAAAAMAZING happened and he just sat there with his jaw hanging open as a solar system began forming in his hand. IN HIS HAND! HE LITERALLY HAD THE WHOLE WORLD IN HIS HAND! THIS WAS THE BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER! The only bad thing about all this was that he could not properly express his excitement without injury his back further. Hopefully the look of complete awe mixed with a cornucopia of other emotions would be enough for now. Tearing his eyes away from the gift, he stared into Medea's eyes for a few brief moments before leaning forward a bit to give her a soft kiss on the cheek. Pulling back, the biggest grin he had done in a long time spread across his face and he essentially reverted back into a little boy. "THIS IS STELLAR, MEDEA! Honestly the BEST gift I have ever received I love yo...yooooooooooou're sense." Er woah there Flamsteed. WOAH there. QUICK! New topic. QUESTION! ASK ONE OF THOSE. "Wherever did you find something like this?" |
Quote:
Great griffins! If tummy butterflies could explode into a million small frantic snidgets, she certainly just experienced it! Missing the 'could have been' accidental confession hesitation, she breathed a quiet sigh of relief and giggled as she fiddled with the egg shells, able to relax some. "I haff my sources." And that whole nonchalant tone she was going for worked out rather well. Mission success! |
Quote:
"How very cryptic of you," he chuckled as his gaze returned to the solar system in his hand. This really was incredible spellwork and a part of him wanted to try and pick it apart to figure out how it worked, but the thought of picking apart something so incredibly perfect seemed completely illogical. Maybe he would just lock himself up in the Astrophysics Laboratory and try to replicate the magic himself. Little bit of magic and a little bit of science. Should only take him all night. Assuming he didn't pass out at his work station. "It's perfect, Medea. Blagodaria." See? He had remembered. |

Laughing along with Emily, she brushed it off. There was no need for her to be embarrassed. "We all fall on the ice, no need to be embarrassed. Do you want to make snow angels with me?" Suddenly she had remembered why she was out here in the first place, and figured that maybe Emily would want to join the fun. |
Quote:
Oooh. The girl invited her to go play and make snow angels. "I would love to! I've been working on so much homework and have been holed up in the common rooms for too long. I'd be more than happy to let off some steam and make a few snow angels!" She squealed. Today was actually turning out to be awesome. And then maybe afterwards they could go to the kitchens and makes some cookies and cocoa or something. Emma was no stranger to the kitchens. |
Quote:
WHOOO, snow angels! "Awesome, a great way for you to get over stinky homework blues!" Plopping herself onto the ground, she started to make a snow angel, waiting for the other girl to join her in the fun. |
Quote:
"Right? I swear I've been living in the library and the common rooms trying to get all of this stuff done. ESPECIALLY the Ancient Runes homework.." She groaned. That stuff made her head hurt. Now it was time for some snow angels. Emma laid back, extending her arms and legs back and forth, taking special care to not uproot the snow. That was always important. Messy, sad snow angels were not allowed in Emily Smith's world. No sirree bob. "This is seriously the best! I just love winter, don't you?" |
Quote:
Finished the first angel, she carefully moved over a little so that she could start on another. "Well, I love playing in snow, but I hate how cold it gets." She did not like the cold at all. |
Quote:
"I don't really mind the cold.. it's the hot that irritates me the most. You can fix cold... but it's harder to fix the heat.." She said, matter of factly. |
