Schuyler cracked a smile when Cat asked about the story behind it. "Well," her eyebrows lifted a little. "It was actually very confusing. For me, I mean." Olly was the complicated one, after all. "I told her I liked her like that and she made it seem like she didn't feel that way. And then we fought, and then she admitted that the feeling was actually mutual." And that, in a nutshell, was it. "Oh, we were in Florence, too." That was romantic, right? Schuyler thought so.

She leaned her palms on the bench behind her and smiled a little more about Olly thoughts in her head. Until a question arose in her mind, and she turned back to the girl beside her. "How did Mo ask you out?" Seeing as Schuyler hadn't been at Hogwarts then. "Or did you ask Mo?"

Cat listened carefully. She thought it would have been incredibly heart breaking to tell someone you felt a certain way for them and have them tell you that they didn't return it. She decided not to comment on that, but she did nod and make a sad face. That bit just couldn't have been helped.

"I bet you felt amazing when she admitted it." And oh? "Florence is lovely." She added with a bit of a knowing grin. "All of Italy is lovely, if you ask me. But I am most definitely 100% biased about it." Absolutely. No guesses. Cat turned a cat cookie around between her fingers and glanced at Schuyler. "You mean, our first date or when he asked me to be his girlfriend?" Because those were two rather different things, after all.

"Yes, amazing," Schuyler answered with a smile. But she made an addition to that. "I think she had me all over the place in terms of feelings." Like: Sad. Hurt. Angry. Frustrated. Incredulous. Happy... REALLY happy. And other things, too. Thank you, Olly.

Of course Cat would think Florence/Italy was lovely. And it was, yes! But yeah. She was Italian. "You are biased, but you're right." She flashed a little grin. And although the other cities they had gone to had been interesting and amazing as well, Florence held more of a special place in her heart for obvious reasons.

"When he asked you to be his girlfriend," she clarified and tilted her head as she looked at the other girl.

"I hope you stay where you are now for a long time. Happy is a good place to be." For sure. "What did you do there? If you don't mind me asking." You know, unless it was private, or something. Cat thought that she and Schuyler were quite good friends, but she'd never try to force something out of someone.

"Oh. Well." Cat was grinning again and it was a super big change from her demeanor earlier when she'd arrived at the courtyard in the first place. "Well. We had a date. He picked me up at the common room and took me to the lake where he had a blanket tent set up with pretty lights and there was food and it was lovely." Grinny grin grins were still happening here. "And he asked me to be his girlfriend, he'd memorized it in Italian."

And it was adorably perfect but Cat was trying very hard not to be an annoying girl and gush too much about her boyfriend, even if he was just so super gush-worthy.

Schuyler nodded her head a few times. Yes, happy was where she wanted to stay. But she wouldn't get into that too much because she was kind of superstitious and didn't want to jinx it. Olly did have the potential to cause some serious damage to her. Then again, so did she.

As for the Florence question.. "Olly and I traveled some of Europe over the summer with my brother and his friend. Just for fun, you know." Which made it a packed summer, what with that road trip as well. A memorable one, too.

She mirrored Cat's grin and faced her a little more because she loved hearing these kinds of stories. She was all ears, yes. And ugh, Mo. How perfect was that? Twinkle lights even. "That is so cute!" And for a second she felt as if Mo and Cat and only just gotten together as well. "Him asking you in Italian is the best part." In her opinion, of course. It was precious and he took the time to learn it and UGH.

Cute.

"Mo's so thoughtful." She took another cookie and broke it in half. Sorry, cat. "Olly and I still have yet to go on a proper date." Like, as a couple. But at the same time, everything felt so natural with her that she hardly noticed this fact. It felt like they were always kind of on dates just without calling them that.

Clinging to Airey's arm as they walked as slow as snails it felt like to the courtyard, Medea squee'd as the fluffy white flakes came into view. "Vinter vos generous vith us this year." There was enough snow to go around! And what a wondrous sight it was. It'd be a shame if anyone walked on the freshly fallen frozen ice. Or...did something to it...

"OH! Airey!" Fixing her black knitted hat that almost slid off due to turning so quickly towards the astronomy professor, Medea beamed up at him. "Let's build a snowman!"

Hair looking a bit grey, Airey stumbled his way through the Courtyard while trying not to lean too much on Medea for support and instead using the cane he had had to carry with him everywhere since the incident in his classroom. While it made his heart skip several beats to see how happy she was with all the snow, the cold was making his limbs ache. He tried not to focus on this though - he was a the glass was half full kind of bloke - and instead watched the way the snowflakes caught in her hair and how the cold gave her cheeks a rosy glow.

"You're beautiful," he smiled at her. "I mean...it's beautiful. The snow. And you. The snow falling. Your hair. INTO your hair. The air." Shutting up and continuing to walk now. Yes.

Leaning forward entirely on his cane now, back hunched ever so slightly, he grinned at her. "Froooooooooooosty the snowmaaaaaaaan...was a jolly happy sooooooooul," he hummed as he moved a little closer to her. "I'm game. I haven't built one since I was a boy." Like he could have said no to that smile anyway.

"You could borrow my owl if you want?" she said dubiously, not sure if tha was necessary. Whoops.

"Does it?" she asked. Hopefully this was a good thing.

This girl just couldn't sit still, could she? She reminded Beverly of Jumping Gummy Bears.

She shook her head at Marigold's offer. "Oh, I have one. It's just that I've forgotten." Crud. "Thanks, though." Not anyone would just offer their owl to someone else, yeah? Well, she wouldn't unless she trusted the person she was sharing her owl with. That and Mori would probably bite the strangers fingers off.

"Yeah, I think...I read your name in that gossip paper." What was the name of it? She didn't remember. "The one with Puffanova?" Ring a bell? 'Cause it did for her.

Pfft. As if SHE would be into a Hufflepuff like that. She was still yet to have a crush on a boy. Seth didn't count since he was so far away and...well, she only really liked his hair. Seth had nice hair.

Marigold stopped bouncing and lifted up her left foot. She stuck her arms out about 45 degrees to help balance. She leaned a bit before righting herself. She then nodded, trying not to fall. "No problem." Her owl was sweet and could TOTALLY have dealt with Beverly. In a non-biting way. Or nipping/nibbling. That was Nibbles's job.

Marigold listened and then immediately fell over. THAT GOSSIP. GAH. Marigold straightened back up and shook her head vehemently. "Oh. Umm, that stuff isn't true. Plus, they spelled my name wrong. So yeah."

SO WRONG.

She....oh? Instinctively, she reached up and lightly touched her hair. Not that she could particularly see the snow upon it, or feel it, or sense it, or do anything really but brush it out...what was she doing? "Thank you." Whatever that was, she was going to take it as a compliment!

Chuckling softly, she let go of his arm, seeing as he had that handy cane with him and they weren't walking anymore. "Really?" Not a single snowman since he was a boy? That was...quite a surprise actually. Though the endless number of fun activities she did in the snow as a child started to pop up in her thoughts like daisies."Vot about snow angels? Or forts? Ice bubbles?"

Ears were most definitely red, once again, and it was hard to tell if the color in his cheeks was from the cold or something else. Compliments. Yep. He was incredibly graceful at giving those. Clearly. "You're welcome."

He shivered just a bit when she let go of his arm - it was terribly cold out here - and wiggled his toes inside his shoes. "Really," he nodded. "Would you judge me if I told you I've actually never mad a snow angel?" He was slightly joking when he asked, but just a tad serious. He didn't even know what snow bubbles were either. Snow forts though, he had built those. "I am well versed in building snow forts, however, they are perfect for snowball fights.

"There has to be something," she murmured, placing her hand on a gargoyle's foot, hoping it would reveal some sort of secret passage. But again, her efforts were futile. She sighed, deciding to give up her search for the moment. She turned around and saw a younger girl sitting on the bend near her.

"Hello there," she called, stepping over to where she was sitting.

Blair sat watching the girl for some time. Touching the gargoyles and speaking to herself, what on earth was she up to? Perhaps she had lost something, or someone? Although she could hardly make any judgement, Blair could often be heard talking to herself.

As the girl approached Blair noticed she must be a few years above her. She smiled and replied, "Hey! You alright, are you looking for something?"

Beverly tilted her head to the side, trying to understand what Marigold was doing. Was she a ballerina or something? Oh, maybe it was... "Do you do gymnastics?" Because she had, and though this didn't look like it, it HAD to be something, no? The Ashwinder dance?

Oh. Woah!

Okay. Not gymnastics. Maybe dance.

"I figured," Beverly said, wrinkling her nose. "It said Kace was flirting with me. I don't let boys flirt with me." As if she could control that, but Beverly liked to think so. Oh yeah, that gossip paper had issues with spelling out names. "They misspelled my friend's name too." In which ALL THREE of them were featured. EMBARRASSING.

When Tessa realized that a girl was watching her, she laughed to herself. She probably looked like a crazy person, muttering and touching the statues. However, there was a goal to it.

"I am actually," she said with a soft laugh. "I promise, I'm not insane- no matter how that just looked. I was hoping to find a secret passage- a castle this old must be riddled with them," she said, sitting down beside the girl with a sigh. "I'm Tessa by the way, newly transferred here," she added, as an explanation for some of her strange behavior.

NEVER made a snow angel? Was that...legal? She dramatically gasped.

"You know vot?" Did he know? Her eyes narrowed in a playful manner as an eyebrow raised. "Ve're going to do every one one of those today." The snowman, snow angels, forts, ice bubbles...and the snowball fight. All of them. No matter how slow they'd be at it. Okay, the gasp was a little overboard but still made him smile. He had been the same with some of the pastimes he enjoyed that she had never partaken in or heard of, so he really was not allowed to judge.

"Challenge accepted!" he said while giving her a thumbs up with one hand. Probably should save the snowball fight and fort for last, yeah? End with a BANG - a bang that hopefully was not his back going out again. "So, what do you want to start with? You are entirely in control of this date." Heh, date. He could get used to saying that word he supposed. "Although, I have to warn you, I may not be able to get back up without you levitating me when we do snow angels."

But he trusted her spellwork and her in general, most days anyway. Heh.

Giggling softly, cause....date, she linked her arm with his again and took a step upon the snow. The white fluff crunched satisfyingly under her boot. "And leave yourself vulnerable for a conveniently unexpected and thoroughly unplanned snowball fight?" Turning her attention straight ahead, a small smile appeared upon her face before giving her suggestion on the first activity.

"Let's start vith the snow angels first."

Leaning against her a bit when her warmth returned, Airey chuckled and looked down at the top of her head. "Vulnerable? Around you? Never," he replied with just the slightest hint of sarcasm in his tone. She had always kept him on his toes, perhaps even especially now since his overall movements had become sluggish as he grayed. Something that made no logical sense to him, by the way. Him and his grey hair.

Snow angels. Right...so...he needed to get down for that. Planting his cane in the snow and jiggling it around a bit to make sure it wouldn't slip and cause him to faceplant in the snow. He really didn't want to uncoil their arms, if he was honest. So much warmer like this...among other things. "So...down...right?" he asked while pointing to the snow.

Whether he was being serious or joking, since she could kinda take it either way with the tone he said it in, Medea smiled. Either way, it would have had truth in the words. "Mhmmm." she hummed, moving to hold his hand instead to balance herself and maybe help airey down before bending down and plopping herself in the snow.

Ooooooooooh that was cold cold cold.

Slowly and with more effort than it was probably worth - especially considering what was about to happen to his special winter suit - he got down in the snow and landed on his right side before rolling sloooooooooowly over on to his back to look up at the grey sky as the snow fell on his face.

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRR this was cold.

"S-S-So....now w-w-w-what?" he asked as he turned his head to look at her. "J-J-J-Jumping jacks while lying d-d-d-d-down, yeah?"

Charming their clothes to stay dry, BEFORE they sat in the snow, would've been so smart.

NEVERTHELESS, snow without the cold wasn't in the winter fun contract. "Y-y-y-y-u..." Ssshhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiver!Shudder! Woah. "Yup." And on that ending note, she scooted over a little for room and slowly, ever so slowly, laid down upon the snow. Ooh, hello fluffy ice flake clumps scooting down the neck of her jacket. Moving her arms and legs in unison, she moved her head to glance to the Astronomy professor. "How you doin'?"

Snow. There was definitely snow in places that it should not be and the chill that ran down his spine was almost sharp enough to feel as though the cold were tickling his insides. Which actually made him laugh a little which in turn cause more goosebumps on his skin.

Slowly he began to move his arms up and down, stopping when his arms were entirely straight and pressing against his ears and moving them back down to his sides as his legs soon followed...only those couldn't move very far horizontally because of the twinge he felt in his back. "Er...I think it's going alright..." he replied with one last movement. There was now a small 'mountain range' of snow in a straight line right above his head. "You know, back in 2011 astronomers found a bipolar star-forming region that bore such a striking resemblance to this practice they they dubbed it the Celestial Snow Angel."

Not at a very good angle to see his masterpiece just yet, she turned back and looked up to the sky at the falling snow. Moving a bit slower to protect her still dry socks from receiving the same fate as...well, mostly everything else that touched the snow, she was just about ready to stand up and see her own work anyhow. As well as Airey's, in full. It wasn't like someone could mess up a snow angel, so it was no doubt wonderful. Speaking of snow angels...

Medea stopped her limbs, laying still momentarily before she pushed herself up on her elbows. What what? "There's a snow angel...made of stars?"

Still on his back looking up, he pointed towards the sky as if the Celestial Snow Angel were right there within touching distance. "Not exactly, but that is the jist of it," he nodded as he idly traced an outline of an angel's shape in the air. "It is actually an emission nebula and a star formation region located in the constellation Cygnus. A massive, young star is was causes all the activity in the nebula and twin lobes of super-hot gas stretch outward from the central star to create the 'wings' ... it is a fascinating and breathtaking celestial phenomena..." He lowered his arm to his side and turned his head to look at her. "I could, um, I could show you sometime? With the telescope in the Observatory."

Especially since the way he had just described it really did it no justice.

Emma was really enjoying the cold winter afternoon. Walking around the courtyard with both gloved hands in her pockets. It sure was beautiful though. Nothing could beat the Hogwarts grounds in the winter. Everything was just so pretty and shiny in the light blanket of frost. Finally, she had found a spot! Emma smiled to herself as she began making a beeline for the unoccupied bench, too excited to notice all of the ice that was in her immediate path.

WHOOOOOOSH! O_____o

The air was knocked out of her as she landed flat on her back, books and parchment flying into the air.

"Ugggghhhhh!"
She grumbled to herself. That was totally gonna bruise.

Wanting to make some snow angels in the snow on the ground, Lux had decided to go to the courtyard, figuring that there might not be too many people hanging around. She did not want to get stepped on, and with all the elderly people wandering around the castle, the threat of people walking or falling on her was all too real.

It was a relief to see that she was correct, and in fact there were only a few other people out and about this area of the school. One being a girl who slipped while making her way to a bench. Ouch, that has to hurt. Wincing in sympathy, Lux approached her. "Are you okay?" Offering her hand out to help her up.

Emma smiled appreciatively up at the girl, taking her hand and wincing as she got up. "Thank you so much! I think I'll be okay, but I'm sure that I'm bound to come out of this with a few bruises. Thank Merlin I invested in a spill-proof tea container."

She winced again, moving slowly over to the area where her books and tea had fallen. "I'm Emily, by the way. But most people call me Emma. I think I've seen you in class before? You're a puffer... right?"

Hopefully the girl wouldn't be offended by that statement. She seemed really nice.
