She bent down to dig through her tote bag and pulled out the similar-looking vial, holding it up for the girl to see.

Might be nice to get her notes out too, she thought, and Brynn bent back down to pull her journal from her bag, flipping through to the appropriate spot to see exactly what the specifications for the assignment were, though she figured the other girl might know too. Looking back up from her notes, she offered her another smile. "I'm Brynn," she said, introducing herself, figuring that would be helpful if they were going to work together.

Adelaide smiled at the younger student. It wouldn't hurt to help a younger student out right? "Sure. It's better than me trying to force my housemates to care about homework right now." Because a lot of them seemed to wait until the last minute to do things.

She watched as the younger red head pulled out her notes. Oh right. She should probably have brought those with her too. Oh well. She had some blank paper in her bag to take ones for the homework. That was all that mattered. "I'm Adelaide."

Alec's voice came ringing back loudly, bringing Asher back to reality. "Really!" He was excited his hard work paid off. But he was no where near being done with the hard work especially now. "Thanks, bro. I was surprised." Really he was. He was one of the best on his team last term at the school in Italy. But here a Hogwarts he only felt average. The Slytherin team was tough. So far he'd be lucky to make reserve especially this term. It would be nice to end his school career on the team somewhere.

Asher laughed, Alec was crazy in a good way. Cool bro. His cool bro. "Nah she wouldn't mind." She would probably but she would only pick on the both of them. Just like Alec who was joking around too.

Seriously this boy deserved another Bro!hug. But the Slytherin didn't want to over do the bro!hugging. He nodded, "Well, about the same time." They didn't go like the military and go out in the middle of dark way before sunrise. He laughed again. "On a run around the grounds?" He chuckled. He always caused confusion it was fun too.

"Anytime, mate!" GRIN. How AWESOME was this? Answer: VERY. Which explained why he was grinning so much. It wasn't creepy, right? "Well... I'm not. You're brilliant out there, it's about time they realised." Nodnod. It made the seventh year remember certain things that had happened the previous year and the way he hadn't heard anything back yet but... that could be brushed off. This was Asher's moment and boy was Alec proud of his Slyther!bro.

The great thing about Asher was the way he always went along with his jokes. "I'm glad," Really. And... this brought him onto something else that he had been meaning to ask. Clearing his throat, he continued, "So... Adeline tells me that you think I'm... really good looking." Have any comments on that, Romalotti?

"So... early." Which meant that Alec knew exactly when he should be getting up if he wanted to bump into the Slytherin going out for a jog. ... Confused Summers... wasn't as confused anymore. "Oh! Awesome! Is it a friendly jog or... a race between Summers and Romalotti?" Both sounded fun, really.

Awesome. This would work out great then. She'd get her homework done, which was one more thing she could check off, and she could get help from an older student at the same time if she needed it. Brynn gave Adelaide a wide smile as she said her name, mostly because she thought it was pretty but also to be friendly as well.

"Ok," she said, looking up from her notes. "It's pretty easy for the most part, I guess. Just put the potion in our mouths and breathe on each other. Just like in class." Except she had been too shy to try it in class so she wasn't sure exactly what it would be like. What if she accidentally swallowed it? She knew it wasn't exactly dangerous as was demonstrated in class, but it did seem painful. And she didn't like the sound of that. But she didn't have much choice other than to at least try to leave it in her mouth and hope for the best. "Want to go first?"

Lex gave a couple nods, indicating just how much she was agreeing with him right now. So many rooms and floors in this place, it was a wonder anyone gained weight from the food here (because some did despite the exercise). Talk about a determined metabolic system! "Tell me about it. The worse is having a class in the towers first thing in the morning. Imagine going down seven flights for breakfast just to walk all that way back up as well." That usually happened at the start of the year despite the not so subtle hints she'd been leaving the Professors asking them kindly NOT TO. The planning caught his attention but there was little she could give him in that regard. "What? And ruin the surprize? I couldn't possibly, no, you'll just have to wait and see and be amazed or otherwise horrified like everyone else." Kinda like she was but maybe that was just her.

Oh right! That was another reason to add to her growing list of why staying in the Snake Common Room would suck. Lex was no bat, she needed sunlight and fresh air. Staying down there would drive her mad, the kind of mad that made you pry open a window forgetting you're under a lake...."That's shoddy planning right there. I think you guys could have gotten away with having a Common Room on any of the other floors without it being a problem." With all the expansion charms and such, there was no way it could be a problem. And would you listen to that? He liked history? Was that even possible???? "I'm hoping so. Everything I've ever learned up until the end of this year. It doesn't help that memory potions would be considered cheating." Lex didn't have poor memory, she had a selective one and guess what it chose to forget more often than not.

"Yeah...they never actually answer no matter what you ask them." She should know, she'd tried a few times when she was younger and without anything better to do. Lex wiggled her toes some more in the water while he went on talking about enjoying herself and the coming break. "That's the plan. Lottie says we'll start doing some full on studying when we get back from the break. It's not something I'm looking forward to...but it's necessary, so play now and work later." She concluded with a firm nod and a splash of her foot that mmmmight have sent water in his direction. Oops? Hehe.

Yeah, Terry considered himself to be quite lucky that his Common Room was down in the dungeons. It meant that he didn’t have to go very far to the Great Hall for meals, nor was it a long distance to the kitchens. The only issue was when it was Astronomy time and he’d have to walk all the way up to the top, often at obscure hours when he was feeling lazy or tired and just wanted to go to bed. “You should suggest room service” he chuckled, although it was actually a good idea. “Imagine waking up and your food be in the Common Room or by your bedside in the dorms.” He wouldn’t even need to get out of bed then. Perfect! “What a shame” he mock sighed but followed it on with a smirk. He didn’t really mind, he was happy enough to wait and see like all the other students had to. The word horrified caught his attention and his eyes widened a little in surprise. “Now that sounds intriguing” he commented shuffling a little closer to her and nudging her arm. “Come on, just one little clue.” Pretty please?

The sixth year actually quite liked the Common Room where it was. True it had little sunlight but it added to the atmosphere, And the architecture was quite impressive, all that water out there, the view of the lake. It was fascinating, at least it was to the snake. “But then we wouldn’t get that amazing view!” he protested. Surely she couldn’t deny that catching the occasional glimpse of Bartholomew wouldn’t be a crazy sight to behold. All the Gryffindors could see was a view across the grounds and Terry was able to see that from the Astronomy tower. The Slytherin common room was unique and it added to its value. Terry wouldn’t change anything about his house. “Well at least the stuff we do learn this year would be fresh in your brain. You might not even need to revise any of that.” It would certainly mean less work for her.

The boy’s eyebrow shot up as soon as Lex commented about books not replying. Had that meant she had tried talking to them. “I didn’t realise you like making conversation with paper and words” he laughed, though he assumed she had done this when she was younger because if she was still doing it now, there was something not quite right. He’d still be her friend of course. He was glad that she had come up with a plan, it was a much better idea than Terry’s ‘cram everything into his brain’ sessions he had conducted, not the greatest method for remembering vital facts. “That sounds like a very good plan to me” he agreed. It was important to get some socialising in, a couple of their closest friends would be leaving at the end of this term and hanging out with them was top of the priority list.

He was not expecting what came next and the sixteen year old pulled a face as his leg got covered with water. “Hey!” he protested, flicking his foot up so as to splash her back, a smirk planted on his face.

"Yep. And no swallowing unless you want to belch really loudly." Adelaide still didn't plan on drinking hers all the way anytime soon. That just didn't look like a pleasurable experience. She noticed that Brynn looked a bit nervous. "Sure." Adelaide uncorked the bottle. "Oh. And I had a tiny accident when I was brewing it so mine kinda comes out more in coughs and chunks, not a stream like everyone else's." Best to warn the girl in case she broke out in another coughing fit mid-practice.

"Ready?" She said holding the bottle up to her mouth.

"If you need help with Ancient Runes I can help you, I'm not the best at it but I don't suck at it." Just average, she knew the basics.

Lux looked at Adeline as if she was crazy, which she was. 'You can stick to being asher's kissing buddy, but I don't ever want to do that." She would hit a boy if he tried to kiss her. It was not ever going to happen if she had a say in it. "Thanks, Adeline. You are really sweet. And I could always give you Chocolate Frogs for helping me!" As payment.

Adeline knew that Lux wouldn't think that for much longer even if Lux thought she would never think that way, just give it a year or two, she knew that she would have a change of heart and she would help Lux out if she needed the help, the only thing Lux would have to do is send her an owl. "You don't have to give me any payment." Adeline waved the girl off the subject of payment.

Lux laughed a little. She thought kissing was very gross and she would never imagine kissing Asher, but Adeline seemed to really like him. So long as they did not kiss in front of her, it did not bother her in the least. "You are really nice," she told the girl when she said she did not need to give payment for any help she got. Wow, she was really going to miss her friend when she left at the end of this Term. Why did Adeline have to be five years older than her? Things were so not fair.

That was the tradition in the Flamsteed residence anyway. "I DO fancy a bounce," he replied. He resisted the urge to just snatch the pogo stick right out of his hands and instead did the more mature and adult thing to do. "Learn any tricks over the holidays that you care to attempt to teach me?"

Or had the young man been attempting a new trick when gravity had gotten the best of him?

Hmmm. Mr. Tempus was acting a bit odd. It was as if he had never seen a human get stuck in their animagus form or something. Surely, given the nature of Hogwarts, he had witnessed stranger things, no? Before he could ask if something had gotten in the boy's eyes - all that blinking - he apparently needed to remind the Hufflepuff of his former professor. Really, the resemblance was uncanny. He was surprised more people did not realize who the bass was right off the bat.

"Now now, don't be shy," Airey said as he not-so-subtly beckoned the boy over towards the tank with a wave of the hand. "He spoke highly of you...when he could speak that is." He bent down to look the bass face to fishy face. "Look who came to say hello, Professor Dursley! It's Mr. Tempus." It felt odd calling his best mate by anything other than Captain, Tiberius, or Tibby, but he still needed to keep a professional sheen to the conversation. Just because the man was a fish did not mean he deserved any less respect.

Tobias hesitated for a moment, and glanced back at the spot where he'd just been bouncing. Hmm. "Well..." he began, looking back at Airey. "I learnt how to bounce without holding on at all. But I also just learnt that that's slightly harder to do on uneven terrain." Toby gave one serious nod, but grinned again. "I still haven't mastered backwards yet."

He was totally going to hand over the pogo stick, but right now...

right now...

there was a fish.

The Hufflepuff stepped a little closer to the tank when beckoned to do so, bringing the pogo stick along, of course, and knelt right down on the ground, all the better to see...

"Professor Dursley?" The way Toby said it, you would be forgiven for thinking that he was disbelieving. But apparently he believed it alright... "How come he's a fish now?" Oh wait, the guy could probably still hear, so Tobias addressed the man-... err, the fish directly. "I did wonder where you'd gone, sir."

Brynn nodded her understanding. That was exactly what she wanted to avoid, swallowing. Yeah, she had remembered about the belching. And the farting, when she had seen a few of the others in class, Bart include, drink theirs instead of just holding it in their mouths. "It's supposed to hurt if you swallow too," she added. She didn't want any of that. Or to be embarrassed by excess gas. She just hoped she didn't accidentally swallow.

Okay, Adelaide would go first. That put her mind a little at ease, knowing she would watch the older girl and know what to expect or do. Even though she had seen it in class, she didn't have personal or up-close experience with it. But then she gave the girl an odd look. Accident? What sort of accident would cause that effect, she wondered. Though what she described didn't sound like anything too bad, so she simply nodded, albeit a bit slowly. "Alright.." she began, brown eyes falling on the vial as she Adelaide held it to her mouth. "I'm ready," she added, mentally preparing herself for what was to come next.

Maybe they'd work their way up to that. Italian food seemed like a relatively easy place to start, and Cat WAS Italian after all. Hah. Look. There. She'd decided. Italian it was.

Her eyes were back on that darn sling again. The sling that held a broken elbow. A broken Cat elbow. Her friend gave an audible sigh and this managed to bring Schuyler's eyes back to the other girl again.

Oh yes. Good news! The corners of her mouth curled upwards and she moved some hair behind her ear as she shifted to face Cat a little more. "I do." This was so fun, getting to tell the news. heh. Her grin stretched a bit wider. "I'm dating someone."

And yes, she purposely didn't spill who yet. Building the anticipation was all part of the fun.

Cat did like good news. It was her favorite kind of news, in fact. After all, who liked bad news? No one. Unless they were sick in the head or something. Caterina raised an eyebrow and actually smiled. "You are?" Aww. "That's great! Not like there's anything wrong with not dating someone but... I'm glad for you to be happy." Cause they were friends. They'd got bellybutton piercings together. They were bonded.

Or something.

"Who is it, then?"

Oh, whatever. Schuyler was initially going to make her guess, but the other girl didn't seem to be in a guessing mood. Sooo....

"Well. Her name starts with 'O,'" she began. "And ends with... 'lly'....."

AKA OLLY!

Well, Cat couldn't say for sure that she saw that coming, but she hadn't exactly ruled it out. She found herself not surprised about it, actually. "You and Olly?" She smiled again. Schuyler smile hitched a little higher in amusement. Yeah. Most people seemed to think that. But now Cat was opening her arms - okay, arm - for a hug and reminding Schuyler of the fact that hugs followed good news. That sounded like logic, yes. And Schuyler's smile was nice and wide as she hugged her friend. Not as squeezy as normal because Cat's injury reasons and all.

She pulled back and took another one of Cat's cat cookies before looking at her. "Thanks, Cat. I'm really happy." Really. Like..... constant good mood.

She took another bite of her cookie, unaware that she was still smiling. All smiles.

Was it really a surprise that a boy dyed his hair? A lot? Okay, so it was if it was a lot, like Jun, but still. It shouldn't really be that strange since many boys did it nowadays. Or so Jun made himself believe that. Most guys on his dad side of the family dyed their hair a lot and that's where he probably got it from. It just seemed a bit exciting to have a different color whenever he could. "Yeah, a bit too much actually. Have a different color almost every two weeks or so. Depends on how I'm feeling," And it was usually natural colors too. Nothing too bright, unless that time Jun bleached his hair. "Yes. It's the best color that suits you," he nodded. Too bad he didn't think the same for his. "No. But my friend suggested I'd dye it purple next,"

Jun listened to the story. Donny was from Howth. He fishes. Caught a crab and it pinched him. He pulled back a bit when Donny snapped his fingers in front of his face. Potion. Green. Super powers. Got it all. "Ah, that's a cool story. What kind of powers do you have now?" Because y'know, super powers were cool.

Every two weeks? That was... loads. Donny's nails didn't even need painting every two weeks. Or.. they could use some new nail polish, but his glittery nails would do for now. 'Doesn't your mam mind?' Donnacha squinted up at his hair, he wasn't really in charge of what happened to his hair, but that didn't bother him much. Except for the curls. He wouldn't mind some curls, but if mam said no it meant no. And the brown really did suit him, it definitely made him look cuter. Elodie didn't call him Cutie for nothing! Girls liking his hair was probably a good thing. Yep. 'And after you should dye it blue!' Like water... and stuff. 'You should.. you should be one of those meta... the morph people. That way you could always change your hair!'
Selene had told him about those people once and Donny was still bummed that he wasn't one of them. Flippers would be cool.

Tie-Dye seemed interested..! Super powers... Truth was that Donny was still waiting for some type of super hero-y stuff to happen.. but Spiderman was bitten by a spider, he could dream! Now..... what to tell Jun.. 'Oh.. just... I can hold my breath for really long.' Yep. No longer than any other person used to swimming a lot, but this would do for now. He was hardly going to jump into the lake to prove it. 'And a few others, but I can't show you. I'm not 'llowed.' Top secret stuff.

Oooooooooh! Airey was clearly impressed with this development. "Very impressive, Mr.Tempus!" he applauded. "Means your balance is improving. I imagine that the no handed practice will also come in handy with your quidditch playing as well." See? Now there was an excuse to be pogo-ing all around the castle. Maybe he could convince the Quidditch Official into getting some for the Gryffindor all the teams. Mental and physical training. "I am sure it is only a matter of time before you master backwards as well. Focuses on a different part of the brain, I've read. Perhaps not pogo-ing, but walking. Good mental exercise as well as physical you've got right there in your hands."

Stepping to the side now, Airey knelt down beside the tank - his knees cracking and his mouth making a big ol' O shape as they did - and glanced between student and fishy professor.

"Animagus training is very tricky business," he nodded towards the bass. Was Mr. Tempus considering that path? He was almost too scared to ask, but also was a bit curious as to what form the Hufflepuff would take. Something bouncy he imagined. Maybe one of those kangaroo mice if he had to put his galleons on something.

Even if the boy was only joking, the little gears in Lex's head began turning. Room service, breakfast in bed? Which house elf would she have to beg to let that happen and like....what conditions would have to be met first? She could fake a broken bone, Merlin knows she's experienced them enough to try but then they might call the Healer in all their worry and next thing anyone knows Gryffindor would be duct a million points for wasting the lady's time. This year they weren't in last. She wasn't willing to put them back there just for food she could get herself--or ask Jun to get her? Something to think about. "An inspired idea that I'll have to look into." Seriously. And what's this? Asking for hints now? Lex chuckled at his new found curiosity after her last statement. "Hints will make it too obvious." She said sticking her tongue at him in a teasing gesture. "Just...know it's gonna be hard to miss. Kinda big...but not something I'll particularly like?" That was as much as she could say.

Look at that. He actually appreciated the view of the bottom of the lake. She supposed she would too but there was only so many times she could watch the same fish wiggling by the window before she got bored. Unless there was some epicness she knew nothing about that happened in the lake where she couldn't see, she'd keep her Quidditch Pitch. "Each Common Room has their own good view I think....except maybe the Puffers but they have the kitchen so that hardly matters to them." Kitchens had food. That trumped most all views to her. Oh, he had a point! Lex nodded slowly, finding one good thing to look forward to. "Right...and I haven't completely forgotten last year's stuff either so that should be something." Hope, the Gryffindor now had it a little.

Lex laughed. Really she did. Books and her hardly ever stayed in the same room. "I'm not the type but there were times when I was unbelievably bored. It doesn't happen often anymore, not since I got to Hogwarts. Never a dull moment here, you know?" It saved her from that mundane life with the most boring specie ever; muggles. Her old Primary School needed some new age management. You could lose brain cells from the boredem alone. She gave a small nod. "Brilliant plan, which figures why Lottie's the one that thought about it. She's the planner and I'm the executioner." Except she would find it incredibly difficult carrying this one out. Books and monster study sessions. UGH.

Was this a war brewing right here? Lex drew back a bit but it did little to prevent her from being splashed by the cold water in the fountain. "What if I'd worked extra hard on my hair this morning?" She challenged, trying to put on a snobbish tone but failing. Lex...did little with her hair. On good days it was thrown into a messy bun and left to it's own devices. Alexa reached into the water with her hand flicked some toward him.

A letter. No, she wouldn't know that because she'd forgotten to write home. Ugh. They were probably freaking out and were going to kill her. Double ugh.

Bev shook her head. "Ugh, no. I forgot to write home." Whine. She was so going to hear it.

After a second of internal scolding, she composed herself. Studying the girl she said what she told herself she wouldn't say. "Well, that's good you remembered. You know, now that I think about it...um, your name sounds sort of familiar." Mellow.

Marigold stopped bouncing and instead twisted an leg around her other leg. Twisty twisty twist. Then back to bouncing.

Blah.

"You could borrow my owl if you want?" she said dubiously, not sure if tha was necessary. Whoops.

"Does it?" she asked. Hopefully this was a good thing.

Asher grinned, it seem like the Slytherin could never frown, as long as he was around Alec Summers. The boy was like the poster child of grins. He shrugged, "Thanks, I do what I can and try hard" he was always so polite and modest about his playing talents or whatever.

He had hoped to get picked for a pro team, but never really thought about anything else as a career. It the quidditch thing didn't work out. He would have likely just worked at his dad's broom company. "What about you, mate? What do you want to do after Hogwarts?" They had never talked about plans after Hogwarts before.

He looked Alec with a slight grin. Adeline had told Alec about that? She should know he was kidding with her. Although Alec was a fine looking bro. "I might have mentioned it to her once." He grinned sheepishly.

He nodded, "Yep fun isn't?" Looking around the sun had been up for all thirty minutes now. Yeah, exactly what he called fun. He smirked, "Oh that's exactly what I'm saying, a race, yes?" He laughed and took off running. "Come catch me, Head boy. Meet you at the Whomping Willow." He ran faster.

All smiles.

Cat smiled again. "I certainly know how that feels." That whole really happy thing. Though Mo had absolutely nothing to do with the mood she'd been in recently, he had lots to do with her usual cheery demeanor. Cat watched for a moment, noting that Schuyler couldn't even properly chew without smiling.

"Is there a grand story behind it? Or did it just happen?" Both ways were good ways, really. There were no wrong ways to it, actually.

Sometimes you just needed to take a break and have a moment to yourself right? West was doing exactly that now that he had the Quidditch roster done and set, and a bit of downtime before the season officially would begin, and a couple days before the next Dead Kneazles rehearsal and no upcoming Under Seventeens matches and yeah. Time to do his own thing now. Might as well make the most of it being nice out. Sure the weather was getting a little brisk but at least it was sunny today, and the breeze was just a breeze and not too strong or too cold. Comfortable.

So the tall Slytherin was sitting in the courtyard, having found a decent spot on a ledge overlooking the centre area, and he had his guitar of course, and his notebook. He was playing quietly... just a few chords, and then he'd stop for a bit, note something down, apparently lost in thought, and then go back and play a little more. He wasn't paying any attention to anyone else, even if there were people coming and going. Might be time for a snack break soon though.

Schuyler returned the smile and glanced at her friend. Well, Cat and Mo were the bee's knees. If they WEREN'T a happy couple, then they definitely had everyone fooled. But they were.

Schuyler cracked a smile when Cat asked about the story behind it. "Well," her eyebrows lifted a little. "It was actually very confusing. For me, I mean." Olly was the complicated one, after all. "I told her I liked her like that and she made it seem like she didn't feel that way. And then we fought, and then she admitted that the feeling was actually mutual." And that, in a nutshell, was it. "Oh, we were in Florence, too." That was romantic, right? Schuyler thought so.

She leaned her palms on the bench behind her and smiled a little more about Olly thoughts in her head. Until a question arose in her mind, and she turned back to the girl beside her. "How did Mo ask you out?" Seeing as Schuyler hadn't been at Hogwarts then. "Or did you ask Mo?"

Does anyone want to build a snowmaaaaaan?

SNOW! ☆*・゜゚・*\(^ω^)/*・゜゚・*☆

Clinging to Airey's arm as they walked as slow as snails it felt like to the courtyard, Medea squee'd as the fluffy white flakes came into view. "Vinter vos generous vith us this year." There was enough snow to go around! And what a wondrous sight it was. It'd be a shame if anyone walked on the freshly fallen frozen ice. Or...did something to it...

"OH! Airey!" Fixing her black knitted hat that almost slid off due to turning so quickly towards the astronomy professor, Medea beamed up at him. "Let's build a snowman!"
