Fully confident that the spell she'd just cast had done wonders for the water in her goblet, she took a large gulp, eager to see what her imagination had come up with. Daydreaming was already high up on her list of interesting ways to pass class time but now it was the actual activity and she couldn't very well complain. Nope.

Lex blinked, waiting for the spell to begin taking effect but all that really happened was a few of the desks and chairs getting brighter in colour and looking more appetizing.

Was that chocolate? She couldn't tell. It was almost like a blending of visions. The classroom still interrupting what should have been the best daydream ever. Sigh. Guess this meant it wasn't successful? How very disappointing. Lex waved her wand and cast a quick finite. Good thing she didn't drink the whole thing becuase she'd need to give it another go and hope she ended up swimming in candy next time around.

"Sentio Somnium!"

And it better work this time. The Gryffindor was SO ready to ditch the class in favour of something on the more appetizing side of life.

Now it was time to actually try the Daydream charm. Alex decided to practice the incantation again first and then the wand movement. She said, "Sentio Somnium", repeating it a few more times. Then she tried circling the wand over her goblet of water while adding the incantation.

Now came the hardest part. What should her daydream be about? Normally, Alex had no problem with daydreaming, in fact she probably did it a little too much. But now that she HAD to come up with something, it wasn't so easy. Alex finally came up with a couple of possibilities. Now all she had to do was decide which one to go with.

Tessa was about to drink from her glass when she heard her name being called. She turned to Adi with a smile, only to see that Sander had already gone over to help the younger Hufflepuff.

"You okay Adi?" she asked, grinning at the boy. He seemed to have his question answered, so she returned her attention to the glass. Lifting it to her lips, she took a sip of the water and sat back as the daydream took over.

She was on a broom, zooming toward a goal post- the crowd was going wild! The cheers increasing as she got closer and closer...

She ended the daydream with a grin. It had worked! "Hey guys! How's your potion going?" she whispered over to her friends. "Anyone want to try mine?" she added with a grin.

Sander ended his daydream when he heard Tessa ask whether anyone wanted to try hers. He immediately raised his hand, "I'll try it. Do you want to try mine? You'll really love my daydream," he winked at her.

"Here let me cast the spell again just in case it has worn off," Sander told her as he pictured his daydream in his mind and then as he moved his wand over the water of his goblet in a circular motion, he said the incantation,"Sentio Somnium." Like before he watched as a light purple beam streamed out of his wand and into the water, before disappearing.

"Here, try it now. I'll drink it after you do. That way, we can both be in the same daydream together," he suggested to Tessa.

This time Lex was a little more hesitant in picking up her goblet. The little mishap just now was probably from a lack of concentration as she'd come to understand but could you blame her with some people still yelling and others chatting away like they didn't have to spell to try learning. Holy kneazle what was wrong with these people?? Didn't they understand that she needed quiet? Lottie would be so proud to hear that.

Okay...okay she actually had to be testing this thing now. Lex picked it up and took another swig of the water. Not too much incase it was a dud.

Now she just waited for her mind to take over and transport her to a magical place, yes? Well in that case, make with the candy spell. She didn't have all day to sit here and stare at the dull faces of her classmates. As interesting as they could be from time to time, they weren't what she was interested in.

It was a few seconds later before the lines in the room began to blur and everything was slowly replaced with soft tufts of blues and pinks and oranges and yellows. Cotton candy? OoOOoOOooo Lex reached out to feel one as the desks became candy striped and a chocolate fountain appeared where the Professor's table used to be. Lex had to fight to remember it wasn't real but merlin she wished it all was. Above her little butterfly candy wrappers fluttered by and she could see at least a dozen chocolate frogs perched on marshmallow mushrooms.

Sweet. Circe.

Was this heaven? The girl put her wand down. No way was she waking up from this.

Geez.

Seriously, there was no need to yell, as the room was quiet. Or as quiet as a classroom could ever be. Was this related to the grey hairs and wrinkles people had been sporting lately?

Anyway, Layla felt the need to practice the spell a couple more times before actually preforming it. "Sentio Somnium. Sentio Somnium." Had it. Now, what was her daydream going to be?

"Sure!" she said, knowing that Sander had probably come up with something amazing. Hers was... well, it was definitely her own. "I can't wait to see it," she said, shooting a smile at the Hufflepuff.

She nodded and waited as he cast the spell again. When he finished, she nodded at his suggestion. "Sounds like a plan to me!" she said, taking the glass from him. She took a sip- but didn't swallow yet. She handed the glass back then swallowed the water, and the spell took hold. She looked around, her smile broadening as she looked at the beach and sand. She turned her face up, feeling the warmth on her face. "Sander, this is wonderful!" she said, looking around to see if he had joined her.

That was enough practising. Time to try it out for real, yeah?

But first, he needed to think of a daydream. Where exactly was it that he wanted to go? Or think of? Home? Maybe he could try and imagine Dad or Chip there? ... Maybe not. It probably wouldn't work and he would only be setting himself up for disappointment when he realised that he wasn't really back at home with his dad and his puppy. Shame. But what could he think of instead? The duck pond? He had always liked going there. And then he could see Martin again. ... Martin. Poor Martin wasn't going to get visits this year.

... Yeah... he should think of something else.

He didn't know how long had passed but more than a minute had managed to tick by before the eighteen year old's imagination landed on... something. Something... good? Something that wouldn't be sad? But most importantly, something that would... work. Grey-blue eyes glanced down at the goblet of water on his desk. This would work. What had the man said? Something about... intent? Yeah... Alec remembered not being so keen on that idea. Intent. Confidence. He sucked at having both of those things.

Sentio Somnium... Sentio Somnium... "Sentio Somnium!" he called, curling his wand over the water. A pale purple string of light shot out of his wand and into the water which... then disappeared. STARE. Had he... had he managed to cast it correctly?! What?! Was that... he... BLINK BLINK STARE.

... This didn't feel right.

Hearing his name he turned his head.. LUX!! he shouted in his head. "i need help.. i can't pronounce the words… why does it have to be so hard!" he said. Maybe it was because he was having such a hard time remembering his own name lately.. what was going on with him..

"can you help me??" he asked….more like pleaded to her.

It made her so sad to see how lost Bay seemed to be lately. She would not be surprised if he tried to put his shoe on his head one day or something. "It's okay, I will help you," she told him encouragingly. "Try to repeat after me... SEN-tee-oh SOM-nee-uhm." She made sure to say it clear enough with the right annunciation so that it wouldn't confuse him. "You can do it!" Waiting patiently to hear if he got it.

ohhh thank goodness for Lux… Bay just couldn't make his brain work… he hated being old… his wrist started to hurt.. "owwww" he said while rubbing it… the pain started to go away..

he repeated the words right after her. "SEN-tee-oh SOM-nee-uhm" okay so he felt pretty good at that.. "can you say it a little faster for me?" ho[ing that it the words were just drilled into his brain he could finally get them.

Lux frowned as she saw that his wrist was bothering him, but he seemed able to deal with it so she let it go; there was no need to fuss over him endlessly, she only wanted to help him understand this. "Very good, Bay!" He was getting it. She repeated it a little faster as he asked her to, "Sentio Somnium." Hopefully he would get the correct pronunciation again saying it faster.

It was strange that walking through the door could trigger someone else's daydream charm, but the only way to trigger his own was to drink the water. It made it pretty clear to Mo that this was a tricky charm, which made it all the more galling that it was one of his sister's best charms. Stupid sisters.

Ahem. Sliding his goblet to the middle of the desk, Mo propped his elbows in front of it and gave the goblet a long, measured look. Hello, there, future dream vessel. What sort of dream should you hold? A trip, a perfect day, an adventure? Or something absolutely impossible?

Impossible might be fun, actually. Like what about a climb up the Himalayas and a picnic with a yeti herd. That would be amazing.

Trying to think of a good daydream, all Layla could think of was the sun and how cruel the professor's trick had been. Because, yeah, still missing the sun over here. And that's when it hit her. Her daydream charm should be some place that was sunny. Like home. So, she focused on remembering her hometown and how the sun bounced off the buildings.

Daydream in mind, Layla started circling her wand around her goblet. "Sentio Somnium." Did it work?

Time to give it a try. Mo pointed his wand at his goblet and drew a circle around the rim of the goblet a few times, just to get a feel for the circumference of the glass without having to look. If he was going to create an image in his head, he didn't want to be distracted by those around him. Mo closed his eyes and started the circle, "Sent-."

Splash.

Oops! Mo peeked, noting that his wand was now dripping a bit on the desk. Maybe he'd just point the wand a little higher and avoid drenching his wand, his desk, and himself. Closing his eyes and wrinkling up his face, Mo drew the circle again, this time imagining a snowy mountain and a brisk wind, and the still dark home of a yeti. What would it smell like? What if had fur too? Would it be soft and warm, or would it be frozen with packed snow? It was his daydream, right?

"Sentio Somnium. Sentio Somnium." Mo tried to create as real a scene as possible before lowering his wand and opening his eyes again. Did it work?

Siiiiigh.

Professor Fuller WAS the best. He had the best daydreams. She liked it in this one here. Even if the food wasn't real, which, well, of COURSE it wasn't real. She hadn't made any cupcakes. Clearly that was what mattered. She was actually daydreaming about cupcakes when the Professor started on again. They were meant to attach a daydream to the water? But what sort of daydream should she envision?

Wiggling in her seat near Mo, she watched him thinking. "Pst. Mo. PST." What was he going to daydream about? Was that cheating?

Mo was about to drink his charmed goblet of water when he heard Cat psssssssssting at him. Where the... what... oh, hi, Girlfriend. He swiveled in his seat and set his goblet of water down on her desk.

"Will you drink my daydream? It's a really good one. You're going to love it." Merlin, who wouldn't love a frigid mountaintop precipice and a cave full of XXXX beasts? NO ONE, that's who.

Daydreams were... well they were dreams. Huxley had those, but she was one to make her dreams a reality at whatever cost. So enchanting a goblet of water to visualize her own daydream wasnt really her thing. Bewitching others though, now thats something else.

She wrinkled her nose and tried to think of something. Hmmm how about a throne made of solid gold eh? Would certainly be easier given the kind of seats they already have around here.

She swished her wand about her goblet and uttered the spell again "Sentio Somnium" visualizing... visualizing.....

Looking at her wand. Where was the purple thing thats supposed to come out?

WHY WERE PEOPLE YELLING?!

It was aggravating her. Every time someone yelled she almost jumped out of her seat. SEE. This is WHY she sat at the front, though admittedly the professor's voice could have been a tad LOUDER.

Lousy kids, didn't their parents teach them any manners?

Rolling her eyes at the circumstances, she took her wand out. What was the spell again? O___o

Somnium Sentio. No, no, no. Sentio Somnium. Yeah, that was it.

Tucking her graying hair behind her ear, she sounded out the incantation. "Sentio Somnium... Sentio Somnium... Sentio Somnium." She stopped before the words lost their meaning. Then practiced the wand movement, which was pretty simple.

CREAAAK.

Blink, blink, blink. Her wrist just cracked. Um. No panic. It was NORMAL. She should have warmed up first. :|

Huxley tilted her head and wiggled the tip of her wand. "Oi! Come out of there!" she grumbled as she straightened up again. She closed her eyes and visualized the throne-- solid, shiny, BIG. Nifflers would go bonkers.

Dark eyes fluttered opened as she swished her wand again "Sentio Somnium" she cast with such fervor over the goblet. Finally a sliver of purple emitted from the end of her wand and swirled lazily into the water.

Oh how happy she was that it finally worked. Taking the goblet she gently turned the cup around and watched the bewitched water swirl, reflecting a peculiar glint in her dark eyes. And those dark eyes started scanning the room. Is there anyone here other than herself who deserved to be seated in such splendor?

Judging judging...

Sander took the goblet from Tessa and drank the water inside it. Immediately, the classroom disappeared and he was back on his island. Only this time, Tessa was with him. He quickly walked over to join her, holding her hand in his. He smiled, "I didn't know you would like it. I've always dreamt of being on a deserted island, just lying in a hammock and relaxing. I added the hut in on my second attempt, just to see whether I could do it or not." he explained his reasons for creating this day dream.

"Of course this daydream is so much better with you in it. Let's take a walk and then when you're ready, we'll end my day dream and I can try out yours." he suggested to her.

Grin. Hi. Boyfriend.

Cat glanced at the water suspiciously. Surely Mo wouldn't think up some freaky weird and or scary daydream. And surely he wouldn't offer it to her, if he did. RIGHT? Surely. She decided she was just going to trust him and give it a shot. "Okay." She shrugged. "I'll do mine after and you can have it." And maybe it Mo's daydream SUCKED, she could pay him back for it.

She glanced and swirled the water around before actually drinking it.

Ohhh goodness. Snow. SNOW EVERYWHERE. And cold wind and high places and... hmmmm. Hmm. Except she didn't really feel cold. She felt tall and fuzzy and warm.... and yep, she was a yeti. Of course she was a yeti. She went on do to yeti-like things. Hunting and chilling with other yetis and scaring away humans and stuff. After everything faded away, she gave Mo looks. "Okay, that was pretty cool but I make a terrifying yeti." Her hair was all cool, right? She patted her head just to be sure. "Did you know yetis like to play in snow?" Sure, he must. It was his daydream, after all.

Mo watched eagerly as Cat drank his daydream, although it wasn't like anything changed. She went glassy eyed and sort of mumbly for long enough that it concerned him, and when she came back to herself, she didn't look nearly as thrilled by the experience as Mo would have liked.

Maybe he'd done it wrong?

"It worked? Was it great? Was it cold? I wanted it to be so cold. And did you have fur? I added the bit where you got to be a yeti at the end, so it might not have been as strong as the rest of the daydream. What did it smell like?" Mo grabbed Cat's head in his excitement and smoothed down her ruffled hair before letting her go. EXCITED BOY.

"Lemme do yours."

Schuyler retrieved her wand as Fuller instructed. Okay. Wand was out. Now what? And she listened intently to the now what part, her eyes resting on her goblet for a moment before returning to the professor just as he told everyone to watch him.

He demonstrated, and Schuyler fancied the shade of purple that had been emitted from his wand. But the color wasn't the point. The charm was. And now it was time to practice for themselves.

She looked to the ceiling thoughtfully as her mind swam with what she might want to see in her daydream. The first image that came to her mind was the one she had described to Olly ages ago. Not ages ago. But over a year ago now, when they discussed what they believed they'd want to see in the room of requirement.

Wand in hand, she circled it around the goblet, just above the rim. As she spoke the words "Sentio Somnium,' the image of a field of flowers was carved in her mind's eye. All in perfect bloom, varying colors, with sun hanging in the blue sky, a few wisps of clouds to accompany it.

She couldn't think of a daydream. There wasn't any place she wanted to be at that exact moment, other than maybe at home with her grandparents, but that was hardly a paradise. It could be sometimes, but... really? It was lame. Her brain was lame. But could she bounce ideas off others? Someone might have an idea that got her gears turning a little better than they were now.

Schuyler! Alice liked her ideas. And her poem books. Approved of those, too.

"What are you thinking of?" She scooted over a little closer to where the sixth year was and absentmindedly circled the tip of her wand around her goblet, practicing the movement simultaneously to speed the activity along. Help, though, Ms. Emmons. It'd be much appreciated.
