Welcome to the first Charms lesson of the new term! As you open the door to enter the charms classroom, you will find something that you will not recognize or expect. The familiar classroom seems to have transformed into something much more magical.
Instead of four stone walls that trap you with your fellow smelly classmates, all you can see for miles is rolling green hills, with pretty little daisy flowers planted here and there. The sun is high in the sky and small patches of fluffy clouds slowly drift overhead. A little stream can be heard in the distance as a calm breeze rolls through.
Feel like taking a nap? Blankets have been set up under the shade of a tall maple tree. Craving some sweets? Some plates of cookies and brownies have been placed on the soft, cushy grass here and there. Fancy a nice cup of tea? You'll probably find a tea kettle around here somewhere, as well as anything else your little teenager heart desires. It's like a daydream...
Oh, and Professor Fuller is nowhere to be found. Typical.
OOC: Welcooooome, students. Do whatever you want (within reason). Class will begin in 24 hours.
OOC: Class has now started! If you just got here, feel free to join in, but don't RP your character arriving late. Just pretend they've been here all along!
The lowered wand was appreciated but only because of how much it would have been bad form to hex the girl's face off on the odd chance the Professor actually WAS there somewhere watching. Now they could get to the meat of the matter. The girl wanting a blanket. Wait what? That was it? She came over here huffing and puffing for a blanket?
Lex would have offered to share hers, but not with the way the girl was barking orders and trying to take her blanket. Slytherins. You couldn't expect much more from them.
The Prefect swatted her hand away forcefully before she could ruin any more of her treats. This was getting ridiculous. "Knock it off." She said, drawing her own wand, but it wasn't aimed at her, rather it was aimed at the large maple tree just a ways off. The one that was housing all the blankets. With a flick and a levitation spell she sent one flying at the girl's face.
"There. Go nuts. Charm it to fly and then fall into the lake with it. Just leave me alone." She was trying to enjoy her treats before class started you know. Mer-lin!
:: Ganymede pulled her hand away and rubbed it. "Owwie!" She shook it a few times then to her surprise a blanket was coming straight at her face. It hit it's target and as she fell backwards, she heard the girl suggest flying it into the lake.
Ganymede stayed under the blanket for a pregnant pause. She wanted to make sure her cheeks weren't red when she came out from underneath, because she was definitely blushing.
Standing up with the blanket still over her head wasn't hard, but trying to walk away from the scene was proving to be a challenge. After stepping on a few goodies and treats, she pulled the blanket off her head and her purple hair stood up in quite a few places. At least she wasn't blushing anymore. She found a spot to sit down and repair what pride and dignity she had left.
Pulling her glucometer out of her bag, she checked her blood sugar. It was 63, so she reached for the nearest cupcake and licked the icing off. It was the perfect opportunity to enjoy a cupcake and a soft blanket.
I'll take care of that Skunk another time. Ganymede thought to herself as she sulked. ::

He found himself outdoors where he could see rolling hills, flowers... and wait was there actually snacks laid out in plates on the grass?
Sander looked around for the Charms Professor but couldn't see him anywhere. So he walked over, knelt down, took a cookie and brownie from the plate. He then took a seat on a blanket under the tree and bit into the cookie while keeping a look out for the Professor.

Spotting Sander sitting on a blanket under a tree, she happily skipped over to him. "Isn't this place amazing?!" She did a little twirl before sitting down beside him. Gosh, she loved being outside even if it was really indoors.
"I wonder where the Professor is."

It was so beautiful, like a nice spring day.
Finally snapping out of her momentary daze, Alex spotted Sander and Lex sitting on a blanket under a nearby tree. She started walking in their direction, but first stopped to grab some cookies from the assortment of snacks placed on the grass. As Alex neared the tree, she called out to her friends. "Hi Sander, Hi Lux. Isn't this place awesome? Do you mind if I join you?"

Tessa strode into the classroom only to stop on a dime. She looked around in question- had she made a wrong turn? She stepped back out of the classrooom again and looked around. Nope, this was supposed to be the Charms classroom...
She walked in, smiling as she saw the rest of her friends already settled. "Hey guys," she said, taking a cookie as she walked over and sat down on a blanket. After having given an Ana a piggyback all the way here because she was too tired to walk or merely because she could get her way with Terry, the Slytherin's hip and back were really starting to ache a bit. He gently dropped the girl outside the door before stepping in himself, not exactly expecting what was beyond.
Woah.
"Well this is different" he muttered, briefly glancing around to take in the view. It was pretty spectacular he had to admit, it was almost picture perfect, like it could be on the front of a postcard and certainly not like a charms classroom should.
If the Professor was going to teach them how to perform this he'd be pretty impressed. He also thought it would be impossible to do by yourself, in fact he'd think it would be impossible completely.
Charms wasn't his best subject but it certainly wasn't his worst. He'd improved greatly over the time he had been at the school. Despite being in achey pain from his joints and that annoying streak of grey hair which he had tried to disguise in his fringe by spiking it up a bit in order for it to look more like a fashion statement then a worrying sudden onset, the sixth year was kind of looking forward to this lesson.
He would've said hello to the Professor if he had any chance in spotting him. Playing head and seek, clearly.
Ana gave Terry a quick kiss on the cheek before she unravelled her arms from around his neck and dropped to the floor. She winced slightly when she landed, as no matter how gently he'd dropped her, her ankle was still being a pain. Luckily she could still walk on it though. "Thank-you," she whispered as she fixed her robes, going to follow Terry into the room.
Ana stared around in awe as she took in what was all around them. Green hills and biscuits and tea. This looked a little amazing. Certainly not like what she'd been expecting. But it was great. Really great. Ana wondered if she could roll down one of the hills without looking strange. Because this was a place where you should be playing.
Ana's look of awe turned to one of slight confusion when she noticed that she couldn't spot any teacher. Tugging slightly on Terry's sleeve she went up on her tiptoes to quietly ask, "Is it normal for this professor to not be in the room?" Because in Ana's opinion it was a bit strange, but then she didn't know this Professor so she really couldn't tell.

Sander had been looking around keeping a watchful eye around him as Lux sat next to him. He frowned still wondering where the Charms Professor was, when something more enchanting caught his eye. Tessa!! He smiled at her, and shifted over to let her join them on the blanket.
He shrugged in response to her question,"I haven't seen him yet, but like I told Lux, I suspect he's somewhere nearby," Sander leaned over to whisper in Tessa's ear.

The niceness of this place was rather unnerving.
What was with the grassy hillside? The fancy flowers and the overdose of sunshine? The food that Alice wanted to eat but refrained from consuming because she was suspicious?
Once the professor showed his face and assured them that the snacks were safe, she'd inhale all of them, but Fuller had a knack for not appearing until the last minute. So she took a seat on one of the blankets, by herself for now, and waited.

Yeah, he WAS pretty awesome, wasn't he? Aside from a few overly suspicious ones, Pierson was rather pleased with the general reaction of his students. Most of whom he recognized from previous terms, others he hadn't met yet. Good first impression, wasn't it?
He was in the tree, just in case anyone was looking hard enough. The charms professor was perched up in one of the maple trees whose shade was occupied by some soon-to-be-napping students. That was his cue, he supposed. Climbing back down the branches, Piers gracefully hopped down from the tree, careful not to land on a student's head or appendages, however amusing the thought was.
As for those who were eating or thinking about eating whatever treats were there, "I wouldn't eat those if I were you. They're not real." At least, he didn't think they were. "Probably." They would get to that later.
"Gather round, children!" Piers gestured to the picnic blanket that was mostly in the shade of the tree. Once they were gathered, he rubbed his hands together, and took a look around at his beautiful masterpiece. "First of all: no, we're not outside. Second of all: that tree? Not really a tree. Third: I have no idea what you're eating because I sure didn't make those brownies." That was the fun part. Unless they were actually eating something strange and ended up in the Healer's ward. Cece probably wouldn't be too pleased with that.
Piers looked around at his lovely, darling students. "Anyone have any idea what's going on here?" Best way to start the first class of the year? Open discussion!

She KNEW there was something wrong with the food.
Only Alice had suspected it was poison, but no one needed to know that.
"Let's wait thirty minutes and see," she suggested instead of offering a proper guess. 'Cause if it was a Daydream Charm like West had answered (which it probably was, since he was rarely ever wrong), it was going to wear off then, right?
Also, was he going to feed them real food? That would be nice, PFH, considering how often she and Cat fed him.

He was right not to touch the food. Although it wasn't poisoned like he had though but it wasn't real in the first place. So then what were the students eating? And if they weren't outside how was he sitting on the grass, under a maple tree?
Michael didn't really have any idea what was going on but he raised his hand to have a go anyway. "Some sort of illusion charm?"

Tag stared at his food for a long time when Professor Fuller had climbed down that tree. Tree. Had he been taken lessons from a Hogwartian? No. Never. But, yes, there was sad staring at the food. Very sad. Tag wished it were real. But alas it wasn't.
Nothing here was real. "A figment of our imagination?" Tag answered Fuller.

Sander immediately sat up when the Professor appeared. Then the next thing he did was to look down at the cookie he had been chewing. It wasn't a cookie?
He listened as the other students gave their answers. So this place had been enchanted after all. Thinking of a possible answer, Sander raised his hand, "Professor, could it be a charm that makes you think you're seeing something, but which in fact, you're not?"
Sander didn't really know the name of such a spell so left that part out.

Vesper heard Professor Fuller and perked up, quill pausing and her eyes immediately seeking him out. Oh, he was here! Well, that was a good enough reason to discontinue with her sketching for now...Mhm.
To be continued.
Rolling over, she listened to his lesson introduction (because all professors did one) and then smiled. So, the food hadn't been real...Ves felt smarter for not partaking, then. A first.
Anyway, Fuller was asking them about the charm. What charm did they think was at work here?...West had provided the most logical answer, of course. He was smart...So, that wasn't too surprising. "Don't those only last about 30 minutes?" Of course, by asking her question...Vesper was conceding to the fact that it was probably a Daydream charm...Mhm...and then she was eyeing her surroundings. How long had they been in there, exactly? Would it be wearing off soon?
Of course, it could have also been another Illusion charm of some kind. Something advanced they hadn't heard about. Shrugging, the Ravenclaw waited for him to provide more information.

Adrienne walked into the Charms classroom and stopped in her tracks. She didn't know what was going on, and to be honest, she didn't really care. All that was important was that this was practically made to up her mood by at least a thousand per cent. Sweets? Places to sleep? She quickly gathered as many cookies, and brownies as she could carry and darted to a blanket. Sprawling out on it and laying all her food down, she spent a few moments arranging it by type and size, and then picked up the most delectable looking cookie, all crumbly and slightly warm.
She had just opened her mouth wide to take a huge bite when she heard someone mention that it could be poisoned and slowly set it down. Adrienne turned around to see that it was Cutty, and she had to admit, he had a point. There was every chance that something fishy was up- in fact, there was almost no other explanation for the fact that the classroom had apparently turned into the countryside. "Do you really think one of our teachers would poison us?" she asked miserably. Whatever the answer was, she probably wasn't going to be eating anything now, but that didn't mean she had to be happy about it. She was really looking forward to that cookie.
The large ears of the Slytherin boy picked up the familiar voice from the train ride in. Adrienne Colbert, whom he hadn't spoken to since and who'd been somewhat quiet in the classes this year. "No, maybe not poison." He began calmly. "But the result may not leave us feelin' too clever, I suspect." Everything from the paradisaical atmosphere suggested they be on their guard. That included toward the digestible offerings. A clever test, maybe? But not deadly. Professor Fuller just GOT this job!
Speaking of the wizard, Fuller had made his appearance and Cutty swore, doubly swore, that if he was ever in charge of this many young and impressionable minds he'd do this exact very thing. It was tricky and just a little bit mind-scrambling. Cutty loved it. His hand went into the air as Fuller asked the class, at large, a question. "Will we be learning about charms used for illusions, Professor?" Mirages, glamours, and fake-outs. That'd be exciting.
:: Ganymede's mouth dropped and she swallowed the last part of the cupcake. These aren't real... ok. Need more candy. Her hands still shaking, she pulled out some sweet candy tarts from her frumpy purple bag and popped three in her mouth. They tasted of grape, orange, and lemon. Now, she just had to wait and try to pay attention to the class.
There has to be an opposing charm to the disillusionment charm. An illusionment charm.
Then she started to think outside the box and raised her shaking hand. "Would this be related to the disillusionment charm?" She thought she'd ask, because wasn't that a charm that made everyone not see something. Like a hiding charm. In a way this was the same, we can't see the classroom.
Ganymede could feel her blood sugar going back up. It soothed her. Plus, she really liked the candy she had in her bag. ::

...not real. Well, Adrienne supposed, shooting a glance at Cutty, it was as good a reason as any not to eat them, though admittedly even with her new knowledge on their nonexistence, the food still looked mouth-wateringly good. So illusions, huh? Those were definitely fun, although she knew next to nothing about them. And they were definitely something she could exploit to just about whatever purposes she had, so she certainly wasn't complaining about the idea of learning them. She was just sad that this cookie was fake.
Although... "Professor, when you say they're 'not real', are they just air that looks and feels and smells like food?" Because then she could still eat one. Nothing wrong with eating air, and then she'd get to taste them. "Or are they, like, ordinary objects that we just think are food?" Eating an eraser was not on her to-do list today, so whether she got to dive in to her pile was really up to that.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Well, as much as he would have liked to have grabbed some cookies, Adi was glad he hadn't. And the Professor had been here all along? He was surprised none of them had spied the man.
Adi made his way over to Professor Fuller and joined the others. What was going on there? Hmmm. Hand in the air he said, ''A transformation of indoors into outdoors.''
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Everything in this room wasn't real? Kevin looked around, his mouth slightly ajar as he took in the sight of the fluffy clouds where the ceiling was supposed to be and then to the blankets near a tree. Okay....what on earth was going on?! Did he go through some magical portal and got outside where it was nice weather? Maybe in the other side of the world? This was Hogwarts right? So he wouldn't be too surprised.
The grey haired eleven year old boy with wrinkles around his eyes turned his head around to see the Professor and listened when he talked about the food. HOW had he not seen THE FOOD?! He made a move to grab something but stopped when even the Professor did not know what it was. Yeah, no hospital for him thank you very much.
"We're all hallucinating the same thing!" ...he thought....did everyone else see the tree and the white fluffy clouds or was it just him?! What if everyone saw something else!? CONFUSING!

She knew she was smart not to dig right into the cookie even if it did look extra delicious. The blonde casually tossed it over her shoulder which hurt, by the way and focused on the tree climbing professor. His introduction was amusing, that was for sure. The blonde glanced over at her best friend to see if she was bouncing yet. It was only a matter of time.
As for what was going on here, Ella was inclined to agree with West and the others. In the name of offering up something different, though...
"Are we getting a glimpse into your pefect kind of day, Professor?"Or date.

NOT REAL!! That was all Bart heard before he started violently spitting out the food that was in his mouth. "Why would you do that." He blinked towards the professor, what a nutso. This was what they did to students give them fake food and laugh about it. He figured the man was laughing even if he was being all professorish right now. Dumb trick....
He was still glaring and rubbing his tongue with his hand to make sure he got all of it. Now for the part he swallowed that would have to come up to. Should he force it up or see the healer to do it for him. He grumbled to himself as the first question was asked. Another trick is what it seemed to be. Professor nutso seemed to enjoy making students think things weren't what they really were.
Nigel was a light sleeper, so when Professor Facial Hair jumped down from wherever he was Nigel heard it and opened his eyes. Class was finally starting. Shame. The Prefect knew this was too good to be true. Like West said it probably was a daydream charm and would end in half an hour. Sad. This was the perfect daydream for a nap. That was for sure. It was a good thing he did not have to move really anywhere just get up in a sitting position.
"This is a really nice daydream"
It would have been nicer if the food was real. He was getting a little hungry.

Eventually Josette had made her way by the maple tree like some of the other students had done, with her cookie still in her hand. Looking down at it only made the first year just want to bite into it more. But somehow she still resisted as she struggled sitting down on one of the blankets. Before she knew it, the Professor had suddenly emerged from...the tree? Wait, he liked to climb trees too? That was cool! But she couldn't really be too happy about that, because the lesson had started.
Then she heard, 'I wouldn't eat those if I were you. They're not real.' & 'Probably.'
These treats weren't real? Josette frowned a little bit when she'd heard him clarify that to everyone. Well, that wasn't very nice of the tree climber to do. She was actually looking forward to snacking on that cookie when the lesson had been finished. As she was staring at it she managed to hear the Professor say that he actually had no idea what they were eating because he didn't bake them. What did that mean? With a bit of a horrified & grossed out look, Josette quickly tossed the cookie over her shoulder, actually feeling very relieved that she hadn't bitten into the fake treat. WHO KNOWS what that actually was, but she was definitely not too keen on finding out...AT ALL.
When the Professor asked everyone what they thought was going on here, Josette couldn't help but say, "Some mean form of torture...to make everyone think they're in some fantasy..." She sighed a little bit, still really upset about that fake cookie not being real.
Toby had sort of LOOKED at Cutty, who was implying... foul play? What? No. Fuller wouldn't hurt him. They were NEIGHBOURS after all. It was like, totally frowned upon to try to kill your neighbour or whatever.
Still, when Fuller spoke, and Tobias looked up to see him in the tree, the boy blinked and was glad he hadn't eaten the treats. Because... Professor Fuller didn't know what they were? ............................. Well that was sort of dangerous.
But he didn't dwell on it, just listened, and didn't eat the brownie (hadn't even touched one). And then, at the question, he raised his hand.
"Is it like that Weasleys' product? The Patented Daydream charms, but bigger so it works on the room and anyone in it, rather than just one person?"

Kace was about to take a bite of his cookie and realized he wasn't eating anything. It was all fake....he was quite bummed. He really wanted the cookies. He saw the professor enter and now class can get started. Kace was still chilling near the tree and almost wanted to take a nap but then he heard the professor ask a question.
Kace thought and said, "Hmm....i think it might be some sort of illusion charm."
Delilah raised an eyebrow when the professor climbed down the tree. What an interesting way to make an appearance.
.... Of course! This wasn't real. It was still lovely though. She dropped the cookie back on the plate, SO very glad she hadn't taken a bite yet. Phew. As for what this was.. "Some kind of charm, yeah?" Captain obvious, here.
