"Hogwarts' School for Witchcraft and Wizardy's highest authority, the governing board consisting of 12 elected members of the community, will periodically and when necessary hold meetings and events in a provided room on the school premises."
-Hogwarts School Charter & Founding Documents
It just so happens that the room the BoG has been given used to be a dusty old classroom and practice room for student use. The dust is gone, the desks have been replaced by an elegant hardwood business table, and the governors all have comfortable leather executive chairs now. The long, green chalkboard on one side of the room is all that remains of the historic Classroom Eleven, as the rest of the walls now have classic wood panelling and handsome portraits on them.
OOC: Please don't RP in here unless you are a BoG member or have otherwise been given permission!
She needed help. Sophie could almost FEEL the arthritis crawling its way through her body. WHY?! What had happened to her youth? She had thought about trying to find her Head of House, but the third floor was so hard to get to! She finally made it to the ground floor, when she heard the sound of adult voices. ADULTS. She had never been so happy to hear them before!
She made her way into the room just in time to hear--...
Why, YES. Yes, someone had!
"Botros," she said, her voice cracking a little. "There's strange things going on here. Strange things. The young are getting older, and the older are getting younger." But she assumed they already knew that. Sophie wanted to trust her professors, but why was Botros the only one benefitting from this change? And what about Bentley? "Then there's this new ghost around. Seemed a bit upset about something, if you ask me." Said something about Bentley putting 'er that way.
Strange things.
Oichi had barged into the meeting of school board of governors meeting to complain to them about the old epidemic and soon realized she was far from the only one. She listened to others vent their grief but all of a sudden she heard a whole new part of the story. She responded, "Wait, Botros got younger. How young is he now? Also most of our professors look like their normal selves. How did it only affect a few adults when it has affected so many of us students the opposite way?".

Ella was doing most of the explaining so she was fine with sitting where she was for now at the fancy table and waiting for the solution that was meant to come. She wasn't sure...but she didn't think the solution would come in the form of Vivi's mum even though she was the next to come through the door, in fact, the woman was pointing out that they weren't allowed...because they didn't already know that much. Here hazel eyes fell to the chairs at the side of the room. Did that mean she'd have to move? But this one was so comfy, so...not looking like the one by the wall. This was a right fix it was.
With a reluctant sigh, Lex heaved herself up from the chair she'd been sitting in but seconds later she heard something like a CRACK. "Holy kneazle!" The pain was REAL. "Ow ow ow ow ow!" Slowly she lowered herself back into the chair. She KNEW this was going to happen. It'd bee feeling weird all day. Sweet Circe this hurt. Ooowwwwwww! She'd.....she'd just sit here a little longer.

Oichi then heard a voice she knew well in pain. Normally she would care less for her but under the circumstances this just horribly bad. Governers, we need you're help. As you can see it's not just the grey hairs and lack of most senses. We also have brittle bones that hurt us out of nowhere. We need to find a solution to this problem"

He would have thought more would have arrived by now, but better a little early than showing up last or late, yes? So he offered Carter, Sherman, and Cooper a smile just as he noticed the matching ties the oldest and youngest men were wearing and heard Cooper's comment.
"I didn't get one either, don't worry," he teased lightly with a little grin as he took his seat.
Coops sat there, arms folded across his chest like a child that had been reprimanded. Atticus' remark did little to reassure him of anything. Don't worryyyy? How could one NOT worry when there were nifty matching ties in their presence AND NOT HAVING ONE AROUND THEIR OWN NECK!? Hhhhmmmmm? Could Atticus not see how DIRE this was?

Okay, ...WHAT?!
A fairly large number of students come into the room all looking like dried up prunes, and this guy wants to know if they've eaten any ice cream lately?! What a JERK. "What do we all have in common?" she asked. "You mean, save from the fact that we'll all end up in a retirement home before we're even out of our teens?"
"Why aren't we being seen by a Healer? Why aren't we questioning Botros?" she asked. She paused in her little speech to cough as if she had some hairball in her throat. She wheezed then said, "I haven't eaten any ice cream lately, and I've done nothing out of the ordinary. If you ask me, I think we should be asking what somebody ELSE has done differently--to US."

Healer? They haven't been seen by a healer yet? WHAT was this madness? "Doesn't the school employ a Healer?....???" What happened to that? HHMMMM?
And what was this about Botros? Wasn't he the lovely old man worthy of tummy rubs and cuddles?

Gwen has heard that there was some sort of meeting going on in this room about the aging thing and she wanted in. Sure, she could barely hear anything, but she knew it wasn't normal.
Without knocking or waiting, the eleven year old shoved open the door and stepped into the room. It seemed they were already in heated discussion about it. "Excuse me?" she said loudly, gathering that the board wasn't willing to admit something was wrong.
"I don't know what goes on usually at this school, but I don't think there's any reason that students should be getting this old." She wanted to smack her forehead. What a ridiculous comment. Her lawyer father would be ashamed of her non-argument.
She leaned back against the wall to wait and hear what they were going to say. Because she really wanted to be back to normal. Really.
Alexa was here! Or...perhaps this was her older...much older....much, much older cousin? But this girl had greeted him by name, so....this was well, a problem. And one he was not responsible for for once.
Erik sat up in his chair and studied the assortment of characters shuffling into the room. Why none of them had seen a Healer was a good question, a solid question. His co-governors were doing such a good job of showing concern for these children, concern he was not capable of feeling. Bravo.
"I think perhaps a quarantine is order, Mrs. Branxton," he suggested quietly, tearing his eyes away from the wrinkliness of Cambridge. "These children should be placed under observation and in the care of a professional Healer." That was his suggestion, naturally.
Although...a smirk nearly displayed itself on his lips. Were they sure they hadn't had any ice cream lately?

Ugh, little wibbly lip. Cassandra frowned and circled the table, giving the little girl's tousled grey curls a ruffle as she knelt in front of her. "Oh, no need to fret, my dear. We're here to take care of you, remember? But we must maintain some order in here."
Cassandra stood again, glancing at her gathered governors. Highly competent, all of them, and surely they could come up with a plan.

"It's a very good question, Mr. Cope," Cassandra turned an eye back to the man, offering him a firm nod. A very good question indeed. "I suggest one of us venture to the Infirmary and procure all of the anti-inflammatory potions, as well as the Pepper-Up potions. We can boost the level of health and well-being of those impacted, even if we cannot heal them yet. Look at these poor children." She gestured at the Ravenclaw prefect, the little Gryffindor friend of Genevieve's, the other Gryffindor, and the wibbly Slytherin.
"And I suggest we call the Headmistress to join us."

Deep down inside, Sophie could tell she'd ruffled a few tail feathers, but seriously--couldn't they just have mercy on her?! She looked like she could be her grandfather's grandmother, for Merlin's sake!
Sophie decided to drop the finger pointing for the time being and focus instead on finding out what these people knew. She looked toward the woman, who was currently directing her to the house elves for...something. She resisted the urge to jokingly respond with, 'And YOU should respect your elders, young lady', meaning respecting the aged students.
"I didn't mean accuse him of anything," Sophie mumbled. "I meant we should ask him for his secret. He clearly knows at least some kind of solution." BAH HUMBUG. They should just go the whole finger pointing route, in her opinion.
Her youth had been DAMAGED, and she wanted somebody to PAY. Whoever said 'youth is wasted on the young' clearly never went to Hogwarts.

Like the Headmistress could do anything.
Just like she had about the ice cream. And the dementors. And evil foreign students. It seemed as if Truebridge and her little board of puppets solved every problem at the very last minute, and Alice didn't want to spend her whole year, or her whole LIFE, with these rheumatisms.
She settled into a chair against the wall to wait, back cracking painfully as she did so, and fixed Mama Branxton with large, calculating eyes. Well?
His tie would look better on Cooper anyway, and Sherman was still waiting for his fellow governor to put it on when the students descended.
MerrrLIN. Children. Thank goodness his own granddaughter had enough sense to respect her superiors, or he would have scolded her right there.
The elderly man watched the people in the room observantly, planning to wait for another cue from Madame President before speaking to any of them... until that one child started talking about Abraham.

"He doesn't know anything," he assured the girl quietly, because Sherman didn't raise his voice ever and because his vocal cords were all old man-y. "I spoke to him in Hogsmeade. He is indeed younger looking than before, Mrs. Rae-Branxton, but he's as innocent as a lamb."

Sophie turned to look at the man acting in defense of Botros and his newer than new look. She was about to say something clearly sarcastic, when... "Oh, my Merlin! Whatever it is got him, too!" she thought to herself, looking at the aged old prune in front of her. He was clearly...what? Thirty-six? Thirty-seven? Now it had him looking every bit in his hundreds!
"QUARANTINE!?" she exclaimed. Err... "Sorry," she mumbled, lowering her tone and eyeing the woman who'd ordered her to the house elves earlier.

"A quarantine, yes," Erik repeated, his cool gaze fixing on this little old girl quite intently. "The ageing seems to be spreading, if nearly vhe entire school is infected. Aren't all your friends infected?" Just look at the number of wrinkled students in the room. They outnumbered the adults nearly two to one.
Botros, of course, should still be regarded with suspicion in his opinion. But then he had never liked the man in the first place. Erik kept these thoughts to himself.

"I agree." Carter said with a nod. "A quarantine sounds great, unless, for sure, we know that this isn't... contagious. Interviews too, if we deem it necessary." His eyes scanned the room again. They didn't seem to know anything though. "There's bound to be students that don't have these issues too, right?" Maybe they should try and find out something about that too.
He then turned toward Madame President. "Perhaps we ought to excuse the students before we discuss further, or with the Headmistress." The rude one seemed to not be handling anything well. And kids just barging in sharing information they could already figure out on their own wasn't helping anything.

Lux had heard that there was a meeting going on discussing the ageing thing that was happening at Hogwarts. Even though she herself was not being affected by it in any way, she was concerned for her fellow students. Knocking on the door, she opened it and hoped that she would not get into any trouble.
Everyone was in heated discussion, and she was not sure if she was allowed to join in, so she figured she would ask and if they said no she could leave again. "Hello, I'm wondering if I can come in and participate because I am concerned about this ageing thing because a lot of my friends are getting older around me." Nervously, she bit her lip and waited to hear what they had to say to her.
Ana had heard the arguing about the ageing problem from down the hall. It seemed like they were finally going to do something about it. That was good because she wanted to look her young self again by Valentines Day please and thank-you. And since she could hear other students in there she decided to enter the room herself. Behind, Lux? What was she doing there?
"Umm, excuse me?" She said, pushing Lux further into the room so she herself could enter it. "I don't think a quarantine would really help. Lux here isn't affected and yet I am and like she just said, a lot of our other friends are. So obviously not everyone one of us comes into contact with is getting this. Also I spent time with family over Christmas break and none of them are suddenly ageing," which, if she was able to infect people one would think would have happened. They were at close quarters but not one of them had the same problem as her. She'd written and asked and got a reply in the negative.
Beverly listened all around. The comment about quarantining them almost sent her on full panic, when the woman came around toward her. She didn't mean to wibble, but her cool act could only last for so long. Eventually she'd snap. She did appreciate the kind words, though.
They were going to take care of them? That didn't sound too bad. Being independent wasn't as fun as she thought it'd be. Especially not when she was aging quickly.
She raised her gaze slowly, glazed eyes looking at man who mentioned a Healer. Beverly couldn't imagine her Head of House being happy about this, but a Pepper-up potion might be nice. Might help her damp palms stop trembling.
As the discussion kept going, Beverly had other things to worry about. She raised her trembling hand as if she were in class. She was still polite, 'kay.
"More than half the school is aging rapidly," she said, according to her observations. "What about lessons, though? If we're quarantined then..." She wouldn't be able to attend them and her marks would go down and...GULP. Anxiety levels rising.

So in other words...
THIS GUY was going to attempt to imprison them!
That was Sophie's cue to sliiiiiide toward the exit then. NOBODY was going to imprison her! She'd crawl her old bones out of here before that would happen!
She slid a bit toward the door then said, "Where, might I ask, are you going to put us? There's way more people than the Hospital Wing can hold. Nearly the entire school is...aging." Might want to work out the space issue, dude.
She slid a bit more toward the exit. This was Sophie Newell--busting out the retirement home at age twelve!

Feeling herself being lightly pushed, Lux made her way further into the room, glad that at least Ana was there now. "Yes, I don't think that a quarantine is very good... unless... maybe some students are just immune to whatever this is?" Then in that case, maybe doing it would be a good idea. "Maybe people can be kept in empty classrooms or something as well as the Hospital Wing?" Just an idea, because really the girl asking the question about spacing had a good point.
Messer heard about that there was a meeting going on about this aging situation happen in Hogwarts. The Hufflepuff know he was late but if you had a body of an older man you can't move as fast as you want to. It took him forever from his common room to the Ground Floor where the meeting was.
When he entered the room, he heard they were talking about quarantine the students who affected by the aging situation. NO WAY! "I'm sorry. I refused to be put in quarantine. Its my last year in Hogwarts and I don't want to spent the rest of it in some quarantine facility. I refuse to be a lab rats." Nope. Thank you very much. "Beside how long are you planning to quarantine us?" Huuuuuh? Huuuuuh?

The blonde woman had remained silent thus far, particularly when students began to barge in unannounced, and rudely accusatory. Yeah they were lucky she was no longer a professor here or every single one of them would be losing points for such disrespect, regardless of their apparent collective medical condition. She narrowed her eyes slightly and observed and listened. And just why had this taken so long to be brought to their attention anyway? What was Tillstorm doing with her time?
The Quarantine suggestion was theoretically a good one... but Althea had a few other questions, and perhaps a different perspective. She addressed the students in general, but her attention fell on the Head Girl, since she recognised young Ella from her own time teaching. "Are there more students effected by this than not?" She looked toward Cassandra, knowing that her son apparently had been effected too.
"Perhaps it would be equally as useful to test those students who have apparently not been effected by... whatever this ailment is. If it is spreading as exponentially as it seems to be, then perhaps there are students with immunities which may prove useful."
She recognised the Messer boy too and when he spoke up she frowned at him disapprovingly. He was old enough to know better. "Healers will need to make the call regarding the necessity of that, Edvard." And besides... she added in a gentler tone, but with utter seriousness, "Have you not considered that there may be... a timeline?" A deadline even. A DEAD line. They WERE aging. The natural result of aging? Death.
Not that she voiced that aspect of it, but surely the boy was smart enough to follow that thought? Throwing his toys and refusing to cooperate wouldn't solve a thing. And that went for every single one of them. It was important to be cautious in this.
Althea's eyes fell on Vinteren for a moment, not out of suspicion but rather an attempt to gauge his take on this. He had a strangely accurate nose for trouble at times. Almost as if he knew more than he let on.

Laura walked into the room really slowly. "Hello everyone." Laura said softly she didn't want everyone to shout because she was feeling really old now and she had already complaint to her parents about Higgleworts hotel. "Can I just say this is the worst hotel I've stayed in." Laura said truthfully. "I've lost my brush, I can't find my glasses and worst of all I've gone grey." Laura pointed to her hat, it was like faulty towers this. "Anyway who are you guys?" Laura was confused she'd not seen them before.
"There's too many of us for a quarantine. You'll have to do it to the entire school and take out those who haven't been affected by this," Duh. Plus, Jun was sure that this group wasn't even one-tenth of those affected. Midget wasn't here either and she had been graying and getting wrinkles. Honestly, these people need to come up with quicker solutions and whatnot. But maybe they could be put in the great hall. Then where would everyone else eat? Nope. Nowhere they could really go. "A better healer might help. Since ours doesn't really seem to be getting the job done," And she was a cranky healer at that. She probably doesn't even want to help them.
Timeline? That's something Jun didn't even want to think about. If they kept aging, they would eventually end up dead. And what about Bortos? Will he become a baby again? How did this thing even work? "Timeline? Like how much time we have until we end up like the ghosts?" Yeah, no. Totally NOT having that.

Lux looked back and forth between the people as the discussion continued. Seemed that the quarantine idea was not popular. No surprise there. And testing? She was not sure about that either...but she was still willing to help. "I haven't been affected, and I've been all around people who have been. I even kissed one." three times at that! but this wasn't the time to go into that... "If testing is involved, I can volunteer since it would be to help my friends and classmates."

This chair...it was heaven for her back right now, making her think that moving really WOULD be difficult. That was fine. She was possibly smack in the middle of all the Governors present considering she'd taken one of the empty seats at the table so she could see AND hear perfectly.
Lex watched even more students piling in and talk of the Headmistress being summoned. Er...could they not? It wasn't like she was needed. The Healer alone would suffic--
Brilliantly amazing former History of Magic Professor say WHAAAAAT?
Quarantine? What? No! There was no candy allowed in the infirmery, you couldn't HONESTLY expect to confine her there. This was madness! And no Mr. Carter, she would prefer if they were allowed to STAY while future plans for their treatment was being discussed. Like the way that former charms lady was mentioning timelines--timelines???
It never occured to her before but this thing HAD to have been progressing along a timeline and it wasn't making them any younger.
Her hand rose. "Are we going to die? Seriously? Are we? I have a few things I always thought I'd get to do before I did and well........yeah......." Nothing accomplished ergo they NEEDED to fix them.

So this was getting a bit out of hand and really, Ella was feeling quite nervous that the Headmistress was going to come in and expel them all or something but there was no turning back now. Instead the eighteen year old sat quietly, allowing the other students to express their concern. Her eyes widened considerably at the mention of a Quarantine and her chin might have wobbled the tiniest bit. She couldn't do that. NEWTs and Quidditch and Head Girl duties. She had THINGS to do before she left this place, y'know? She was really trying not to panic but at this point, she was pretty much losing hope that this could be a quick fix.
Then the blonde, Professor Schirmer was looking her way and then asking her something and the Head Girl pulled back her emotions and sat up a bit straighter. "I'd say about half? I'm not one hundred percent, honestly. It's a lot of us that are like this." So it was definitely cause for concern.
And were people really throwing Professors and the Healer under the bus? Honestly? "That's not helping anyone, y'know." Seriously.
As for them dying, Ella glanced over at ... ... ...L...Lox? No. No, it was L...Lex! She glanced over at Lex and shook her head. "No one is going to die." She then looked at the adults in the room, hoping for some reassurance because the last thing she figured they wanted was a much of panicky old people students on their hands. Not that she didn't have her doubts. Ella was quickly beginning to wonder how long she had before she'd need an oxygen tank or a wheel chair.

It was hard to be on time when you had two kids under the age of four at your house. To make things worse, Nolan Reynolds had an ominous feeling creeping up on him as he approached the board room. Nolan knew SOMETHING was wrong before he could even get into the meeting room. He heard lots of noises. LOUD noises. People complaining. Merlin. People never came to complain during their meetings despite having open office hours and such. He could only imagine what was happening out there...
When he walked in - disaster. First off, what was wrong with these poor children?? They had GRAY hair! And wrinkles! They looked older than...well, him. What was going on?! An aging spell go bad, perhaps?
"Oi, shush, try and keep it down!" Nolan yelled, but everyone was yelling, so if he was actually heard over all the noise, he'd be surprised. "NO ONE is going to die. I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation to this and if we all calm down, we will figure it out! Is there anyone who still needs assistance?" he asked. Seriously. Where did they even BEGIN?
He looked at Thea, who was nearby, and lowered his voice. "What do we know so far?" he asked. A little catch up would be nice!
