The Black Lake lies behind the castle and though it may seem like the water is calm on the surface, you will learn that that is not the case underwater. Creatures have made it their home from Merpeople to Grindylows. The most notable is Bartholomew Henry, the Giant Squid. The lake is a beautiful place for you to hang out.
Mr.Kirby has built a dock and has supplied it with some fishing rods. The lures have been charmed to prevent any magical creatures of the lake from getting hooked. The Groundskeeper will not tolerate any use of live bait, and is running a strict CATCH and RELEASE policy. Failure to follow these two rules will result in serious consequences.
Her grandad sounded pretty cool actually and Emma thought a lot of him with the way her face lit up when she talked about him.
Michael grinned at her, glad that she wasn't worried about getting dirty. It was annoying when he couldn't do the things he liked because they thought they were going to a little messy. His dad used to be like that but he had relaxed a whole lot over the years. As he watched while she put her hair up into a bun, it reminded him of Zahra's hair. She had curly hair like Emma's as well.
*sigh* He missed his BFF.
"You have nice hair." Uhm...what? Things seemed to come out of his mouth at times before he could think about it first. He felt his face flush as he rubbed the back of his neck. What were these girls doing to him?
He noticed that she was blushing too and a chuckle made its way out of his mouth. "Looks like it's not only fishing we have in common." He flashed her a grin before crouching down and digging in the dirt in the search for worms. "You got any siblings at school?"
Emma smiled, her hands digging into the cool earth. Ah yes, heaven. "Oh, thank you..You're very sweet." She blushed again, tucking a stray curl behind her ear. Her hair was both a blessing and a curse. Sure, it was pretty enough.. but when it got in the way or got tangled to the point of not being manageable things could get really frustrating. It was nice though, that he liked it.
She nodded slowly, watching him as he worked beside her. "Nope. No siblings... just me..." Emma sighed, biting her lip. If only she had grown up with a sibling her age - then maybe... just maybe her parents wouldn't have been as hard on her growing up. Especially father.
"I sure hope for a sibling one day still though.. I think it would be nice. Do you have any siblings?"

Michael never considered himself to be sweet, but he had been called that a few times in the past few weeks. So he was obviously doing something right. What a shame that Zahra didn't think so.
He didn't have long to dwell on that thought however, as his fingers found what they were looking for and he pulled out the long wriggling worm. "Aha!" He said gleefully before putting the worm aside and plunging his hands back into the dirt.
"Not yet." He wiggled his fingers deeper into the dirt and turned his head to look at Emma. "Mum's pregnant at the moment actually. The baby is due some time at the end of October." In just a few weeks he was going to have a brother or sister.
"I wished my parents had of got their act together earlier. But what can you do." He shrugged his shoulders. Considering the things that had happened between his parents, Michael was just glad that they were back together. "I've got lots of cousins though so I was never really lonely." And of course Zahra had always been there.
He pulled out another worm and laid it beside the first one. "You got any other family?"

Adi stopped, not bothering to take in the beauty of the Lake or not caring much for anyone around. "Did that adoption dude lie, Gus? They said Sophie's cat could stare for hours and well even though I didn't get to test it for hours, it sure seemed like Knox could just stare and stare.'' The second year knew Gus couldn't answer but it was fun talking to him all the same. He set the toad on the sand trusting it won't hop away and he finally looked around. The Lake was one of Hogwarts's feature.
So this was her seventh year... her last and final year. Hannah wanted to take advantage of the sun while she could. There was just something about soaking in that vitamin D that made a girl feel good. She never ended up going to Laura's over the summer and had yet to see her. The Slytherin wasn't sure how Laura would feel about that. A light breeze caught her hair and sent it flailing about in all directions. The seventh year easily placed the loose strands behind her ears.
This was a beautiful day and she was in a somewhat decent mood for once. She trailed along the grounds and found herself coming up on the lake. Maybe she could just sit out here and enjoy herself before all of the work started? Before she could scope out the perfect place, Hannah's eyes caught something that almost changed her good mood. It was Adi. Why was this kid everywhere? As she got closer she noticed that he was talking to somebody only to realize that nobody was close enough to him for that to be possible. Upon closer inspection she noticed that he had a big fat nasty toad.
"Do you expect him to answer you back?" Oh yeah, no matter how good of a mood she was in, she just couldn't help but to be snarky with him.

Adi stood watching the Lake and occasionally checking on Gus to make sure he hadn't hopped off. It wouldn't do well to loose the toad. Strange as it seemed he had become quite fond of it already. Even his mom had pointed that out. He was lost in thoughts of his home when he heard that all too familiar voice.
He didn't even bother to turn around. He didn't want to see her. Not after she made him loose all of his teeth Adi was done trying to befriend Hannah. "What do you want?'' he asked still looking at the Lake and ignoring her question. "I see you're the one stalking me now. Come to hex away my hair or something?'' Why was she still even talking to him?
She raised an eyebrow, surprised, "Oh? I thought a girl would have snatched you up already." Melek giggled and smiled at him, thinking that his blush was cute, "You arent? Oh... well... I guess that is good because popular people can be such snobs, ya know?" Mel teased him and laughed, "You dont either?" It wasnt much of a question but just to confirm by repetition type thing... "Glad that it is covered as well." She beamed at him then wrinkled her nose as he described someth, "I guess that sounds fun? I mean it is better than quidditch probably..." Melek stuck her tongue out to show her dislike of the game then took his hand and followed him, smiling a little.
"N'awww i am not that special. Girls don't like me." he said teasing her a little bit. Then he smiled when she agreed to play Frisbee. He walked her over to the field beyond the lake. "Here!" he said pointing to the frisbee to show that he had it. "I am gonna throw it to you!" he called out. He put his pointer finger on the outer rim of the frisbee and his thumb below it.
Then he threw it and it glided through the air waiting for Melek to catch it....

Well, this one could hold a grudge. In all honesty Hannah didn't blame him, but that didn't change the fact that she played by her own rules. "Not much really." Geeze! It wasn't like she wanted to hang out with him or anything. Most people would normally ignore people that they didn't like and pretend as if they didn't exist, but Hannah didn't work like that. He wouldn't make eye contact with her which in her mind meant that he was scared. He now knew what she was capable of.
"Oh please don't flatter yourself. If I ever took up stalking as a hobby I wouldn't waste my time on you." Was he for real. Hannah was far from a stalker, but Adi was out of his mind. "Don't give me any ideas." She wasn't in the mood to hex anybody and if Adi didn't annoy her too badly he could keep his hair and his teeth.

"Well why talk to me then?'' Adi asked coldy. He shoved his hands in his pockets and glanced down at Gus for what seemed the millionth time. Gus was a few hops away from him so he finally turned to look at the girl he now felt immense dislike for.
"I'm not flattering myself. Unlike you I don't need constant attention.'' He had no idea why he said that but he suspected it was because seeing her brought back that dreadful moment when he had been utterly toothless. "Ideas?'' Adi asked continuing his cold demeanor. "You could keep them in case you need to make another first year miserable.'' And with that he turned his back on Hannah once again, plopped himself on the sand. He brought his knees up to his chin and wrapped his arm around his legs. Hannah could leave him alone now.

Mel laughed then realized what she had said and clasped her hands over her mouth, "Oops..." She gave him a 'please dont tell' look.
Melek followed and smiled. She looked at him when he said here then pointed to what seems to be the frisbee that he was talking about. Mel nodded and then her eyes grew when he did. Catch it, silly! Melek reached out and tried to grab it but it slipped through her fingers and landed about half of a foot beside her. Her cheeks went to red and she reached out and grabbed it. Mel tried to mimic how he threw it but it wobbled and it landed about halfway between them.

And dripped them all over the stones below.
"Stellar reflexes, Miss Fischer," he commended as he wiped the water from his face with his hand and removed some of the broken balloon bits from his nose. He held it in front of his face and squinted at it. "Looks like muggle balloon material..."
And then he saw another girl, a Ravenclaw (emjay), get hit with one as well. "You need to dry off?" he called out to her.
What in blazing comets was going on and WHY hadn't anyone told him that there was a water balloon fight going on?!
His gaze shifted from the Ravenclaw to the Hufflepuff when he heard his, er, title being called. "PERFECTLY ALRIGHT!" he waved back. "MY SUIT IS ANOTHER ISSUE ENTIRELY!"
Because it was WET and therefore had been defiled. Ish.
He began to scan around the area looking for who it was that has broken one of his classroom rules - disrespecting the suit - when the answer instead found him.
AH! The dancing fox boy from Diagon Alley!
And no, professor cool dude was not going to buy him any less of the astronomer's rage that his suit was wet. "Apology not accepted!" he called back with a smirk as he administered a Hot Air Charm on himself to dry off.
He then turned his attention to the Quidditch Captain, his smirk growing even more. "I trust you are familiar with Mizurus boru, Miss Fischer," he grinned at the Gryffindor as he twirled his wand in his fingers. "We need to show these students how a proper water balloon fight is done at Hogwarts."
His smirk only grew further as he traced one clockwise and one anti-clockwise circle in the air over the lake and formed a perfect sphere out of the lake's water. He bounced in place a bit as he turned his attention back to the first year, eager to throw a little fun into the mix when he saw just what the boy was flinging water balloons with and his jaw hung open like a fish gasping for air.
"WHERE IN MERLIN'S BEARD DID YOU GET THAT LADY SUPPORT GARMENT?!"
And then his question was somewhat answered by the appearance of another Gryffindor who.....pantsed the boy.
Sweet solstice he was seeing far too much of his students this term already.
"Uh... thanks, prof." Alice tentatively raised her head from where she was still laying, stomach down. Quidditch reflexes, you know? Her brain had already begun to classify those balloons as bludgers. "Suit alright?"
At least he wasn't freaking out. That had to mean it was fixable suit damage, yeah?
She carefully rose to her knees, being sure to keep on the lookout for more things flying towards her. Mizurus Boru was a fairly simple spell, but Alice wasn't sure she wanted to be caught in the middle of a water fight. The lioness held a strong distaste for anything that left her wet. Especially when it came out of...
.... bras? That definitely wasn't Bart's. Staring blankly as Schuyler stalked up to him- so it was hers, then?- and pantsed the poor kid, she glanced at Aireyhead. On one hand, that seemed a bit mean, right? But on the other, Alice knew for a fact that someone would be missing an eye if those were her undergarments.
"I think the criminal mastermind is leaving." Insert hand gestures toward the little second year here. "Not much of a fight left."
Thank Merlin for that.

Why did he just continue to stare at the frog? It wasn't as if he himself would turn into a frog by looking at her. She didn't have the powers to burn him with her eyes or anything. That would be pretty cool though. Finally he made eye contact with her and she could feel the hate he had for her. Hannah really didn't have a reason to be mean to him. Sure, he had annoyed her and it was entertaining, but it wasn't like she truly disliked him.
"Who ever said I needed constant attention?" That was a reach, and he really didn't even know her at all. She had no intention of making a new firstie miserable, but if the opportunity came up she would keep that in mind. Annnnd she was talking to his back again. Well this was no fun. She leaned down and play punched him in the arm. "Aw, come on." Where was his spirit?

Adi was quite sure Hannah was gone by now as he didn't hear her talking anymore. All he heard was the distant chatter from the others around the Lake. And Gus's croaking. Adi looked around to see Gus hopping towards him. The toad stopped some inches from him and stared at him with it's big toady eyes. "I'm fine, Gus,'' he said with a smile. Was that what the toad was asking silently? Adi hadn't the faintest idea.
The second year's head snapped upwards towards the Lake again. So, Hannah wasn't gone. He remained silent. Why was she still here? Didn't she use to nag him about leaving her alone all year last year? Finally he spoke again. "I said so just now, didn't I?'' he snapped. And that was when a punch landed on his arm. He dropped his legs and still sitting, turned to face the Slytherin. "What was that for? Wasn't practicing spell work on me me not enough that you want to use me as a punching bag now, Hannah?''

Ugh! She did not like this mopey Adi. Where was his spunk? He did get a little sassy with her, but nothing like his old self. Hannah had a weird emotion going through her... a feeling that she had never felt before really. What was it? A horrified look came over her face. Was that guilt, remorse or some other weak feeling? What was going on with her? she could let Adi see this side of her... could she?
Trying not to focus on the feelings she was brewing deep inside her, Hannah couldn't help but to be caught off guard as she noticed that Adi actually like she had full on punched him. "It was just a play punch Adi, I barely even touched you." She was not liking this at all. She especially didn't know what to do with these new feelings.

Adi knew the punch hadn't meant anything bad but he was looking for a reason to flare up at her all the same and she was making it really easy. This suited him just fine. "So?'' he asked glaring daggers at her and jumping to his feet. "It starts small, doesn't it?'' A moment of silence passed from him as he continued to glare. "What do you want?'' he repeated the question he had asked before.
Without waiting for an answer, he bent down and snatched Gus up. He pushed passed Hannah and stalked off towards some huge stones. One of those stones would make a fine seat and maybe Hannah would finally leave him alone.
Brynn just stood in shock at the edge of the lake, dripping wet with very cold water. It all happened so suddenly that she was unable to process really what had happened until she heard an adult voice. Yes. Yes she did need to dry off and she nodded her affirmation as she looked in the professor man's direction. Oooh he knew a spell to dry off and she could certainly benefit from that. She wandered over towards him so he could do the same on her.
"I don't know what.." she started as she approached the man, but then he was shouting something about.. ladies support garments?! Oh no. She was afraid to look, but she turned her eyes in the direction of where the man was yelling. Bart and a bra. She mentally facepalmed.
Why did he have to go the stupid way about having fun lately? "Water balloons are fun when everyone's on the same page," she said to no one in particular. You know, not when it was a sneak attack. Or at least not when you were on the receiving end of such attack. They could have had a real water balloon fight without bras, gosh. And those magic ones like the professor man had just made were really cool. Maybe he could teach her that spell. But later. After she was dry.
And then...
.............
.............
Oh Merlin, how mortifying. Brynn's widened eyes stared at Bart for a moment before she turned away, embarrassed for him. She wasn't sure if he deserved that or not, though if he was flinging water balloons with her knickers she probably would have been mad enough to do the same. Maybe he should leave other people's underwear alone. Oh come on. "I'm not his girlfriend!" she huffed at the teenage girl who insisted that at every turn. She would have stalked off but she needed dried off first. Professor?

"Ooh yay! First catch of the day!" Emma joked, grinning as she watched him set the worm aside and continue digging for more.
"Congratulations! How exciting, a new brother or sister!" She exclaimed, patting him gently on the back. Her parents had been trying for years to have another baby, to no avail. She was convinced that it was still a possibility though.
"Yeah, I understand that completely.. my parents seem to be doing a lot better lately, but there was a time when I wasn't sure if they'd ever be able to pick up the pieces." Emma sighed, digging both of her hands into the dirt...
"Finally! Gotcha!" She giggled, holding up two worms to add to the pile.
"Oh, yeah.. I've got quite a few cousins..."
Not that any of them particularly cared for her.. She was always the quiet weird one compared to their blonde and bubbly personalities.
Hehe. She was funny.
Seeing other people get excited over the coming arrival of his new sibling got Michael excited all over again. Sometimes he forgot how much of a big deal this pregnancy was. "Thanks." He said, with a small laugh at her gentle pat on the back.
He glanced over to Emma and he raised an eyebrow. "You and I really do seem to have a lot in common. My mother left when I was two and a half. I would spend one week with her and the next week with my dad." He paused for a moment in his digging for worms. "She married someone else about a year later. Fell pregnant and had twins. Then when I was about six or seven, I can't really remember, she just...disappeared." The worms were forgotten about now. He had never told anyone this story. Except for Z of course but she had been there, so she knew.
"Almost two years later she came back. She was different though, she couldn't remember a lot of things." He absently wiped his hands on his pants. "It was dad and me that she came back to though. Even though she had a husband and twin toddlers, she came back to us. And she's been with us ever since." He was glad of that because his father never seemed right without her.
Michael sat for a few moments thinking about that awful time before he realised that he was supposed to be digging for worms. "Sorry." He said, flashing Emma a smile. "Sometimes I ramble." He went back to digging for worms.

Alright. Processing. Airey's brain was doing that right now. Processing while his eyes were gawking at the scene in front of him. He was seeing a female student's bra while said female student had caused the young man to lose his pants and made the astronomer see the boy's underwear.
He should do something, right? Some sort of disciplinary action...but he was quite literally frozen in place with all the TMVI (to much visual information) he had just received.
He glanced at the female Gryffindor (Schuyler/Cedric) and was trying REALLY hard not to look at the bra in her hand. REALLY hard. "Is...it...still...able to function?" he asked, pointing at the bra before averting his eyes to the ground. It hadn't broken or anything, right? Please let the response to that inquiry be no. He didn't want to be faced with the possibility of needing to mend a student's undergarments.

Eyes moved across the ground to Miss Fischer when she spoke. Looking at the quidditch captain was much better than looking at a bra.
"Criminal is a bit harsh, wouldn't you say?" he chuckled nervously. The boy did remind him A LOT of himself as a student. Had even pulled the same stunt with bras his first year. Only it had been inside. In the Gryffindor common room. To seven years when they came walking in from a lesson. "Nonsense, a Gryffindor is never without any fight in them. Goes against our very nature!"
Grinning, he moved his floating orb of water around in the air and flung it in the boy's direction. Should get his undivided attention, right? Heh.
"Not so fast, young man," he said, trying his best to put some authority into his tone. "You need to pick up the bits of broken water balloon before you go stomping back to the castle. Don't want the Groundskeeper to tie you to a stick, freeze you, and then eat you up like a popsicle now, do you?"
He glanced sideways at the young Ravenclaw (Brynn/emjay). "And an apology to your friend is also in order here for getting her wet," he continued. "And...you should also apologize for borrowing without permission this young woman's lady support garment."

She gave a small laugh. "That is awesome. How was it? Did you have fun cooking in Paris?".. PARIS. One of her dream destinations.
... "Not yet. I was planning on going for a swim later.. maybe I'd spot one then?" That would be so cooool.
Cat took a grape too before Delilah ate them ALL. She didn't mind if she did, but if she was going to, Cat wanted one more. "It's kind of hard to not appreciate good cooking when you're a Moretti." Hard, very much so. "But not all of us are good at it. My nonna is, and my aunt Lily and my aunt Delilah, but my mama's not the best cook and none of my brothers can cook a lick except for Gianni."
Cat pushed the grape into her mouth and nodded as she chewed. "Food lovers are always appreciated at Moretti houses." She added, after the grape was gone. "Paris was beautiful and it was fun too cause I got to learn a whole new style of cooking and baking." And. "And Mo was just down the street, so we got to explore the city too."

He was leaving, because this was just no fun anymore and he heard professor cool dude asking if the bra was still working, of course it was. He didn't really do anything with it that it wasn't capable of doing. It was made for holding things, well it held his water balloons nicely.
As he marched his covered self out of there he wasn't expecting to get wet! He was wet it took a minute to realize it was that floating water that the professor had done. He turned on his heel with a grin across his face. "Awesome!!" See professor cool and Tessa knew how to have fun. They threw water balloons or well water at a person not sit there and cry like babies, but then he heard the man's words and his grin left. "He could really do that?" Bart actually would like to see him try it, not on him of course but another student. Could he watch?
He wanted him to apologize to bra girl. Wasn't happening. "Would you teach me how to do that water ball? That was the coolest thing ever." Distracting wasn't that bad either, plus bra girl let everyone see his bludger printed undies so they were even. "She hexed me on the train. I think we're good." That's all he was saying to that situation. Plus she had her bra back he was done with it now.
But he glanced over at Brynny. Well she was a different story. He huffed first and went to gather the pieces of balloon. He wanted to just use his wand, but every time he did at his old school he was told no lessons would be learned doing it the easy way so he assumed it would be the same here. Once most the pieces were collected he turned back to the professor. "I'm done see."
Now for Brynny, "Really are you that mad I hit you with a water balloon? You know it was just for fun and you like fun." He looked at his best friend. She wasn't that mad was she?
"I think you are.." She laughed and then raised an eyebrow, "Oh really? Well that is a lie." Melek stuck out her tongue at him, "I mean I have heard that a hufflepuff likes you..." Mel laughed then realized what she had said and clasped her hands over her mouth, "Oops..." She gave him a 'please dont tell' look.
"Oh it is a lie huh?" he teased her back sticking out his tongue. Then he heard what melek said before she clasped her hand over her mouth. "Oh really someone does?" he asked skeptically. "Hmmm i wonder who it could be..." he wondered. He chuckled and promised her, "Don't worry i won't tell. Pinky promise?" he held out his pinky to be serious.
"Awww it is fine! We will try it again. No one is perfect the first time." he said encouraging her. He noticed she was blushing and knew there wasn't anything to be embarrassed about. Then he picked up the frisbee and decided to teach her hands on.
"Okayy...first of all you need to put your hands in the right position." he said going around her and holding his hand with hers and guiding it towards the frisbee. "You gotta put your pointer finger on the outside rim and then the thumb below it." he said putting her fingers in place. "Then prepare to throw and release..." he said and then the frisbee did a prefect throw.
And so he made his bottom dirty by plopping down onto the muddy banks of the black lake. Cutty stared out onto the glassy surface, which was only disturbed by a ripple here or there, and considered his plan carefully. He'd spent a portion of his summer researching the gone-by Tri-wizard tournaments Professor Dursley had mentioned. It gave him foul little ideas.
The last time he'd been out on the lake, Cutty had been transfigured, his nose being that of an animal's. The effects of which he'd found to be quite remarkable for it gave him an enhanced sense of smell and felt to him like having an extra set of eyes. He noticed things like where certain creatures lived and the different types of vegetation that could be found out on the grounds. There were also things in the Forbidden Forrest that carried a smell unlike any other, but the effects of Bronislava's magic had worn down too much by the time he'd reached the borders.
Cutty got into the water clothes 'n all, leaving behind only the vague imprint of his buttocks on the soft mud of the bank and perhaps a footprint or two. He had business to attend to and his fellow Slytherins would soon find out what it was.

"What do you want?'' he repeated the question he had asked before.
Without waiting for an answer, he bent down and snatched Gus up. He pushed passed Hannah and stalked off towards some huge stones. One of those stones would make a fine seat and maybe Hannah would finally leave him alone.
Attitude much? All she did to his was make him lose his teeth and here he was acting as if she had beaten him to a pulp. She grew them back for him right? What more could he really ask for? "It was only teeth." It could have been worse, it could have been way worse. "I gave them back didn't I?" Yeah, that wasn't really an apology but it was as close to the right thing as Hannah had ever gotten.
Hannah watched as he picked up his toad and walked away. He was not in the mood, but that didn't mean anything to Hannah. She kinda missed the kids spunk and she was definitely not going to walk away like she was sure that he wanted her to. She followed Adi over to the stones and made herself at home. "Are you going to be mad at me forever?" Why did she ever care? Why was she here? She really couldn't answer his question. Hannah didn't even know what it was that she wanted.

"Yep!" She stuck her tongue out at him in return. Melek nodded and wince, "I shouldnt have said it..." Mel gave a relief smile and took his pinky, linking it with his and shaking it. "Pinky promise..." She nodded and gave a light smile, "Thanks, Kace. It really means a lot for you not to tell her that I told you... She would hate me so much..."How come he is so nice? He is a good friend... and he is kinda cute as well... but he probably likes someone else... and why wouldnt he? I am just a stupid, silly girl who cant do anything right and I dont have looks either... I am just plain looking... but he probably doesnt look at looks... but then again he is a guy... but maybe he is different... maybe he really did look only at personality...
She smiled as he was saying that it was okay and that nobody was perfect their first time. Melek nodded, "Okay..." Mel watched him as he picked up the frisbee, wondering how much more embarrassing this will turn out to be... He already saw her crying and now she cant even do this simple game right!
Melek gave him a small smile as he walked towards her. She tried to hold back a blush as he touched and was moving her hand. Mel nodded, "Pointer outside... thumb below... got it." Melek tilted her head, "Throw and release?" As she said it, Kace had thrown the frisbee, perfectly. A sigh escaped and she looked at him, "Do you think I will ever get as good as you?" Melek took out her wand and accioed the frisbee over then replaced her wand in the holster. Mel did as he had said to do and it flew better and a little farther but not as good as what he had done.

Only teeth? Adi stared at Hannah. "In case you didn't know I need my teeth to talk and to eat.'' Or did she think that stuff was too primitive for her to learn? "If you don't think they're so important, why don't you get rid of yours?'' he added snappishly. "You only gave them back because you didn't want me go blabbering to your Head of House.'' That was true and he knew it. She didn't give it back because she wanted to.
Adi had climbed up on a rock and was sitting there. Gus was on another next to him. And so was Hannah. Gosh, she was like a thorn today. Why won't she leave in alone? "Why do you care? I would have thought you'd savour the moments I left you alone.''
"Tell me some stuff about your life."
"No problem!" Emma smiled, digging her fingers even deeper into the dirt. Mmm. There was something about cold and slightly wet earth that was a source of comfort for her.. probably because she'd spent so much time as a child playing in it.
Emma nodded, biting her lip. "Yeah, my mom never left, it was just um... they just fought a lot is all. And when they weren't fighting they chose to pick at anything and everything that could possibly be wrong with me." She sighed, brushing a stray hair out of her face, leaving a smudge of dirt on her cheek unknowingly in the process.
"I'm so sorry that happened, it must have been really hard for both you and your father. I'm glad that she came back to you though... Do you think you'll ever get the chance to meet your half-siblings?" She asked curiously. Hopefully she wasn't going to cross a line by asking. She smiled, letting out a small chuckle when she realized that they'd both fallen off task.
"Oh no. No worries. Talking is nice. I don't mind your rambling at all. Makes this more interesting. Well, I was born in London, inside my parent's manor.. we've lived there ever since. When my parents were going through their worst bits I spent a lot of time fishing in ponds and lakes with my Grandad, he's my favorite. Umm... my father is pretty much in denial about the fact that I'm a witch, he didn't even know my mum was until after they got married. BIG surprise there for him. I'm glad that he chose to stick around though, even if it is hard for him." Emma replied, pausing to drop another worm in the pile alongside the others.
"Other than my parents being a little bit crazy and overprotective I guess I've had a good life so far, I mean.. my parents make enough money that I've never really gone without, which is fortunate. I have two black cats, that I think I like more than most people, and upon discovering chocolate frogs, I'm pretty sure I have an addiction.. What about you?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
