The Black Lake lies behind the castle and though it may seem like the water is calm on the surface, you will learn that that is not the case underwater. Creatures have made it their home from Merpeople to Grindylows. The most notable is Bartholomew Henry, the Giant Squid. The lake is a beautiful place for you to hang out.
Mr.Kirby has built a dock and has supplied it with some fishing rods. The lures have been charmed to prevent any magical creatures of the lake from getting hooked. The Groundskeeper will not tolerate any use of live bait, and is running a strict CATCH and RELEASE policy. Failure to follow these two rules will result in serious consequences.
"Hey!" Tobias called out in reproach, but he was grinning all the same. All he did was move his hands slightly further back along the rope in vain, and leeeeeeeeaned backwards. Because really, they were testing the strength of the rope after all. If it held with both of them pulling, it was a job well done.
Heeeeeeeeeeave.
"Hay is for horses." Cutty began with a huff. Their strength seemingly an equal match for one another at this point. "Aren't you glad you're a mule." He exhaled his name-calling-for-amusements-sake harshly then leaned back, Toby taking him a bit forward with his own leaning.
"Or you would be, if you didn't pull like a flobberworm. Merlin! Coom'ed, Tobias! It's like you're not even trying! Professional Quidditch players don't let twelve year olds beat them at Tug O' war! PULL!" And he might've been saying that to Tobes for both his own challenge, but also for getting Toby to think about that dream again.

Incapable of hiding her relief, Sophie reached over and ruffled Mo's hair annoyingly, but she had a big grin on her face that totally made her action all better. "You're too nice to me. That sounds fun. Yeah, I can do that." She NEEDED to build strength, she knew for certain, especially considering how heavy her puny log had felt just carrying it through the school and down to the lake.
While Mo made the spell look plenty easy, Sophie set her rope off to the side and shifted the log in front of her. "Look at you. You are a pro." She shoved him back, giggling quietly, and pointed to his log. "You're gonna have to show me how to do this one properly, though. It's... Lignum Navicula, right? I think during class I was saying something like Navicala, and it's a wonder I got the log to morph at all. But Navicula? Is it like... Naaahh-vihhh-cueeee-luh?" Maybe? "Y'wanna show me how it's done?" He WAS the pro, after all.
"I'm nice to my whole team. But especially to you," Mo grinned at Sophie, ruffling her hair back before he settled back to watch her work on that log. Or not work on it... Sophie was awfully chatty, wasn't she? He listened with distraction as she agonized over the incantation before pitching in to help.
"It's Lignum Navicula. Nav-i-cu-la. You had it right the first time." It was that self doubt that was killing her, wasn't it? Mo tapped his wand against Sophie's, creating a small shower of sparks accidentally in the process. "It's the same motion you just did for the first spell. You're already an expert at it. Look..." And Mo pointed-and-tapped the chunk of wood with his wand. "Lignum Navicula."
This was his favorite part. The wood shaped itself easily into smooth side planking and a trim little bow, a pretty little boat that Mo hoped would float in water. It looked perfect, at least. "Like that."
And the blush seemed to deepen, "You... think I'm..." She paused and looked down, "I... I'm not that pretty... Really, I'm nothing compared to Anastasia... She was the cute one between us..." She gave a small nod thinking about her younger sister. She looked at him again though and gave a weak smile.
"Thank you though..." Anna nodded to him, "But I really do like you..." She paused and if possible the blush deepened more, "I... I mean I really like speaking to you and..." She looked down again feeling like an idiot...
*Romulus nodded a little at her being pretty then shrugged at her next comment.*
"I will have to take your word on it for now. Seeing as how I've never met or know what your sister looks like."
*Her next comment made him think that maybe Anna had a stutter. She was faltering on her words all of the sudden. Now she was turning redder. Maybe she is getting sick or something?*
"Thank you, I like talking with you too. Are you okay? Your not getting ill or anything?"

Mo WAS nice to the whole team, and Sophie knew it. He was the best captain they could ask for. He was fair and hardworking and motivating and encouraging and smelled nice most of the time and set the bar high for everyone on the team.
Oh. Nav-i-cu-la. "Nav-i-cu-la. Nav-iii-cuuu-laaa. Navicula. Lignum Navicula. Right?" she repeated after him multiple times, making sure she didn't deviate from the pronunciation and go back to old ones. She watched with interest but no surprise as his log transformed into, well, a picture-perfect boat.
"Show-off."
There was definite teasing in her tone, but only a flicker of a smile crossed her face as she had already directed her concentration down to the log in front of her. Riiiiiiiiight. Okay. "Mo? What are the five C's again? - No. Nevermind. That's the rules for Potions and I know those. Ummmm," she scratched gently at her scalp with a few fingers, a thoughtful look crossing her face. "What are those transfiguration rules again? Something about... concentrating... or like... visualizing... or... something." She shook her head. "Sorry. Have I ever told you Transfiguration is typically my worst subject? But this is so dumb - embarrassing - even worse than normal - I think I'm coming down with something, Mo. Don't get too close to me," she pouted a little, scooting away from him a hair. "Mind's clouded. D'you have any idea what I'm talking about, though?" Those... THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND TO DO IT RIGHT.
He glanced at Culloden and back at the lake would the man even understand what he did, because it seemed like no one else did. Just because the man was old everyone seemed to fall all over him and make Bart out to be rude when he was just questioning things. Huff “You’ll just take his side of things.” He frowned and didn’t want to talk about it anymore. He was avoiding Ancient Runes for good.
There he was laughing again did he think his want was just silly? “I want to do others too, like I want to see if there is a potion that could help protect babies before their born better. I almost lost one of my little sisters from a heart issue.” Yeah it was his own fault for the stress he put on his mother in that letter when he found out his only childness was leaving and she was having more kids with Charely, but he didn’t want his sisters hurt or not born.
Brown eyes snapped up and a grin came, “They can? Awesome I knew there had to be away.” He mumbled to the ground, “dumb professor telling me there wasn’t and I just wanted to blow things up.” He eyed the man curiously, “Alright, but isn’t any experiment blindly done? You don’t know the outcome until it happens. I mean I figured one out at my dad’s the makes the hair on your hands grow superfast but it took a few tries and some very odd outcomes.” Using your step mum as the tester was quite fun at times. He let out a small chuckle at the thought.
He edged closer to the water not that he was going to jump right in he wasn’t he wouldn’t go against a professor that he liked and that actually seemed to not really dislike him. Maybe if this one had a bunny he wouldn’t owl it to Brynny so he couldn’t find it ever again. Now that he thought about it Brynny wouldn’t work anyway since she was at this school with him. Anyway.. he listened at the Professor spoke about the creatures, “Would they really?” He leaned closer trying to see inside the lake without going in. “Anyway to get them to the surface to look at ‘em?” He was now more curious of those than the squid. Dying? Well Bart wasn’t one to think that far or that permanent so he just let the you will die comment roll off of him without commenting.
He still was looking for really any creatures in the lake now. Standing over the edge squinting as the professor went quiet for a bit. Really where was that squid did the Grindylow get him? Maybe they need to go make sure he was safe. “Would the Grindylow get the squid? What if he’s in danger and that’s why he’s not hearing me.” Mhm it was possible.
Turning on his heal and coming really close to slipping right into the lake he waved his arms to catch his balance. “I’m good.. I’m good!” He thought over the professors words, “Fine I’ll go with you if it will help.” He just knew if he went alone the man would shoo him away or think he was just wanting in the lake to cause harm or trouble. “Sure thing Of course he could do the talking and Bart would try his best to sit quietly or well as quiet as Bart could sit. He smiled, “Thanks Professor.” Hey the man was even just still listening to him, “You’re pretty cool.” which he was. Maybe there were others cool here too, but he wasn’t going to hold his breath.
Did Bart really think Cosgrach was THAT cheap? Did he really look like a man that would take a professor's side just because he was the professor? Cosgrach was HURT and OFFENDED, and he frowned. And he had believed that he left a good impression on Bart. 'Cool', even.
"I won't just take his side," he stated with this hurt tone. He KNEW it was a big NO in 'cool people's guide'. Well? Was he getting any gossip or what?
...
Well, the intimacy between them escalated too quickly. TOO, TOO quickly. It took all of Cosgrach's will not to gasp, and even then he must have looked... weird. He didn't know what to say. "I believe they... research such stuff in St. Mungo's," he said, then sighed. "I'm sorry to hear that. I hope she's okay now." So, this kind of meant he had underestimated the boy's visions. He wanted fun, but he understood 'seriousness' too. Good, good. They were getting somewhere.
Cosgrach made this 'gosh really don't you look at him!' sound while he waved his hand away. "Don't call your professor 'dumb'," he said, "but they may be boring. Potions have limits, but it isn't that shallow." He hated how some stupid professors turned people off the great art. "And experiments are conducted eyes wide open. You have to know the mistakes of the past so as not to repeat them. So. Reading and learning before experimenting." Right, yes, deal, okay, understood?
And that hand hair stuff? Bart got weird LOOOooooOOOKS. "But WHY?" the man couldn't help but exclaim. "For a joke? Prank? I get the scalp hair, but why hair on a hand?" It was TERRIBLY gross and Merlin, could Cosgrach go vomit please?
"Really." So like, keep AWAY, son. Cosgrach didn't try to pull him away, though. His choice, really. Get in that water, and lose tens of points.
"I don't think so. You have to get in there, which you should not without permission and supervision."
Oooh, Cosgrach chuckled. Wasn't he pretty innocent. "I don't think they are interested in squids. Besides, Squid is scary, for them at least. It's not an animal they can dare approach." So instead of a humble human being, The Squid was very well protected, thank you.
Cosgrach jerked and his wand was in his hand, but he reholstered it seconds later upon seeing Bart was okay and not wet. How bad of a professor would he be if he told the boy he had to leave now, but that they could visit Thompson later?
...mhmmm... not bad. He would get the chance to see how patient Bart was. Yep. Decided. They were going to see the man another day to test Bart.
He checked his watch. "I need to go now," he said, "but drop by my office some day in the week, and we'll see Professor Thompson together." Okay?
A fistbump? REALLY? GRINNING like a boy who had just received free sweets, Alec fistbumped the man back. Why? How many times can you say that you've hugged AND fistbumped Botros? Exactly. And he was savouring the moment, too. Going to tell Ells ALL about it later. Nodnod.
Right now... he had to get his food bag? And a rock? Sure. Okay. He picked up a relatively large rock from the ground that was almost as big as the size of his hand before proceeding to pick up his bag. There. Turning back to Botros and the boat, he watched as the cane was placed into the boat. A gasp could be heard coming from the boy when the boat tilted but, luckily, the balancing thing had happened. Awesome. The last thing Alec wanted was for Botros to lose his cane.
The boat could be re-transfigured later. There were more chunks of wood laying around.
And it was his turn? Alec was about to shuffle forwards and place the rock into the boat but, knowing him, something might end up going wrong in that process. Instead, he took out his wand and levitated the rock over towards the boat. Levitate... levitate... and carefully let it settle down into the boat. This was a longer than usual process but, once it was done, the boy let out a sigh of relief. Floating. The boat was still floating.
This was nearly about as stressful as the OWLs had been.
Next was his bag, yeah? The seventh year levitated that up and over towards the boat too. He held his breath and glanced over at Botros quickly. Don't mess this up, Summers. Carefully, he let the bag drop down to the boat, hearing a soft thud as he did so. And the consequence? The boat bobbed from the extra weight. Just a little. But it was--
... Floating!
"WE DID IT!" Too loud? He didn't care. "Professor, we transfigured a BOAT!"
Oblivious to the Head Boy's inner overexcitement, Botros watched the Hufflepuff levitate a small rock, and sloooowly place it inside the boat. And it floated still. The man gave the boy a pleased smile, then watched the same process again with the food bag this time.
Functional boat! Botros clapped as Summers squeaked celebrated their success with enthusiasm. "Yeah, yeah, we did it." Clapclapclap. "Great job." Pause. "Do you need to revert the boat to woods, or do you want to try and climb onto it?" Botros grinned.

They practically lived in the library, much to her horror and disdain but Lex was willing to do anything to help her bestie. This time things were different. It was HER and they both knew the girl didn't read.
Lex gave some serious looks to the latest of her boat designs. It was something she was pleased with afterall but Cassia was making the point that she couldn't make up her mind about this which was kinda true...? What if she wanted a different design completely???
"Testing will happen...just...on him. Look at his eager little face. I doubt he'll mind one bit." Seriously, kids his age didn't complain about much. And of course her bestie was making all the good decisions today. "Right, a few heating charms should do the trick for sure." She said with a contemplative nod and a glance in the kid's direction.
OOOHHHH, they were testing now??? Lex began rummaging around in her bag for the strip of vine. She had the perfect use for this. "Vinea Funiculus!" A spell she'd practised so many times in class that it could have been a sin for her to not get it right!!! The Gryffindor grinned and held the now rope out for Cassia. "I say we tie him into the boat, just in case he's one of those kids who can't keep all hands and feet inside at all times." Just look at him. He looked like the chocolate frogs had gone to his head with all the bounce in him.
"I think we'll need your rope too." Lex said after taking in the scene before them. "He can ride in yours and tug mine along." That way they could test both at once. With her room keeping him in the boat and Cassia's keeping hers attached to the boat Bentley was in.
It seemed the lioness was set on doing the first test on the kid. Well, at least Cassia tested hers and made sure it was all good. And awww the kid looked excited. The snake beamed at him as they walked back to the boats and Lex.
Oh, ropes, right, they needed those as well.
Releasing the boy's hand, the snake reached for her bag and rummaged through it searching for the vines. She shoved them in here. She was certain... hmm.. HERE they were. Fishing them out, she dropped them to the ground and pulled out her wand. For concentration and all, she took a moment "Vinea Funiculus!" There! Slipping her wand into her holster, she picked up the rope and tugged at it testing it. Yup, she was gonna test everything.
Solid and intact. Awesome.
"Yes, we'll tie him for his safety," She nodded making sure the kid heard in case he was going to report everything to his grandmother. Ahem. She totes was the one to say that. He should put in a good word for her. Just saying. "I'll tie him into the boat with mine and you tie your boat to mine." Not to the kid right? In case he let go of the rope then they'd have to go after the boat. Let's not do that.
Stepping closer to the lake and motioning to the kid to get closer, the sixth-year grabbed positioned the boat then picked up the boy and placed him in the boat. "Comfy? " She asked him squatting next to him and tying the rope.

Right. Now that was something that told Tag this would be happening. Excellent. "You're just gonna punch me! However many times you want. Just two rules, no blood should come out of me and the face is off limits." The face was meant more for Lottie's sanity. Imagine if she knew Tag had asked for this and had to deal with Tag's face being broken a second time. Onto more important matters, he knew Penelope wouldn't actually punch him till he bled. "Whenever you're ready!"
It was weird seeing someone cheerful about being punched, but she supposed she'd get used to it for now. She smiled a little.
Yeah, those rules would be easy to abide by. She wasn't intending to make him bleed, and she'd planned not to hit his face anyway for obvious reasons. She figured Lottie wouldn't appreciate her boyfriend's face being hit since Penelope certainly wouldn't be pleased if anyone did that to Ascanius. Then again, she wouldn't be pleased even if it wasn't his face, and anyone who did that would face her wrath. She wasn't afraid of Lottie, of course, but she was sure she probably didn't want to face Lottie!wrath, especially since she considered the girl a friend and Penelope generally didn't intentionally upset her friends.
But anyway. "I think you should choose how many times you want me to hit you." Because otherwise she'd probably only punch him once, and maybe he wanted to be hit twice or more for whatever reason? But maybe she should actually hit him first so he could decide better.
So she did, punching him as hard as she could in the chest.

Tag was always cheerful. Always. See, Penelope was smiling, that was nice, to see her smile. Whether it be her wanting to punch Tag or just simply smiling, he enjoyed it.
Then he was getting more liberty with this plan. Excellent. " Hmmmm. Ten times, you can switch around the places too. Have fun with it!" He told her, a smile on his face.
Hehe. Tag felt the impact, only barely though because Tag had that pillow stashed beneath his shirt, of Penelope's fist making contact to his chest. Oddly enough the boy gave an odd laughter of sorts and inched the bottom half of his shirt revealing the pillow to his friend. "Needed to get an idea of your strength." And with that the boy threw the pillow aside, he'd only grab it for extreme measures. " You can give me an extra hit, since that was sort of cheating on my part."

"I like that description" he nodded along, impressed but it was clearly a very Ravenclaw thing to say. He expected no less.
But then Dora decided to change her description and he tilted his head slightly confused. "I'm more likely to know what a baby dragon breathes like than I am the sun" he chuckled. In fact the sun didn't breathe, did it? "My mum was the Department Head for Magical Creatures. She takes me to a lot of places when I'm not at school. Including a Dragon Reserve like you said" he stated matter-of-factly. "And to be perfectly honest I felt like a baby dragon breathing all over you." In some ways Terry was looking forward to going home at Christmas, just so he could go on 'holiday' with his mother.
Right. So now was it Dora's turn?
"You want to try?" he questioned. Although there was no real 'want'. If she wanted the credit for doing the homework, which he was sure she would, she would have to.
"You know what it's like to be sunkissed though, right? I would imagine it something like that." Being breathed on by the sun. Not the best but she had been uncertain about the dragons breath before he spoke. "Oh, that's cool." Not something she entirely cared about because creatures, but cool all the same. She grinned slightly. "You were less majestic than a dragon. Even a baby one."
And it was her turn now.
Nodding, she pulled out her own potion and poured it into her mouth, careful not to swallow. When she thought him ready, she leaned forward and breathed on him.

"I know what it's like to be sun-burnt" he chuckled in response. The Slytherin tanned a little in the summer but whenever he went abroad, his skin and the sun always seemed to have an argument with one another. He pulled a face at her last comment. "Well that's because I'm not used to breathing fire on a daily basis." He didn't really want to either, it would probably hurt your throat after a while.
The sixteen year old watched intently as Dora took her own potion into her mouth and then closed his eyes as she breathed on him. Once she was finished the Snake opened them again along with a small shudder. The sudden change from feeling very cold to warm was weird.
"Its pleasant" he commented, unsure of how else to describe it. "Suppose it's sort of like stepping into a warm bath. When your body initially gets the shock of the hot water but it gets used to it really quickly. And then you're just left with a really warm feeling." On your skin that was, not in your heart.
He was glad to hear that she wasn't complaining and that she liked to goof off. He was renowned for that but not so much this year because he had promised his parents he would try harder.
Her comment about him crying had Michael rolling his eyes. He didn't cry especially at something so silly. But he wasn't going to be the one crying anyway. She was . Hehe. He didn't saying, just merely made a scoffing sound.
The way she was shrieking made him laugh and he picked up his speed and was starting to gain on her when she suddenly disappeared. Michael looked around the big tree she had ducked behind, but she wasn't there andhe he would have seen her if she had run to any of the other trees.
So that must mean...
He looked up and sure enough there she was.
"I'd be careful if I were you, that branch doesn't look very strong."
Emma laughed, shaking her head as she watched him roll his eyes at her pride statement. Boys.
*Crrrraaaaaaack*
Well, there was certainly no way he hadn't heard the other branch snap. She squirmed, trying to grab onto the nearest branch. Oh Merlin, she was going to fall and die or something. "Yeah, as you can see... I have made a huge mistake." She frowned, arranging her footing until she was able to move sideways to thicker branches. Or what she THOUGHT were thicker branches.
SNAP.
"Acccck!" She screeched, scraping her knee on one of the brances before catching another one with both arms on the way down. "Ouch. Okay, yeah. Big mistake. That was really close." Emma shook her head, now eye to eye with Michael.
Crap. Now he had her trapped.

I dunno if you think I'll do the spell for you or hope I get so bored I walk away, but it won't work on me," Mo grinned at Sophie and almost leaned over to ruffle her hair again. Maybe that wasn't a good plan at the moment, though, not when she was looking so stressed out and was talking a mile a minute and making very little sense. This was a good time to be nice.
"Look, Transfiguration is hard for a lot of people. You're fundamentally changing the nature of an object, down to the molecule level, and that's not easy. It should take a while, but it helps to think about what you're doing before you do it. With the vine to the rope, you're essentially just changing it from one kind of plant to another, albeit a fibrous one in a different state. With the wood to the boat, though, you're making it change form. It never stops being wood. So just think of it like... like pouring water into a mold. You're moving the wood around with your magic to make it into the boat. So you point, tap, and focus." Mo demonstrated with his wand, miming the motion and mouthing the incantation Lignum Navicula.
"I know you can do it. If it takes you ten tries, you still did it. Don't keep track, just keep trying."
"You're... using delay tactics.
Sophie kind of felt like Mo was talking down to her, but she just frowned hard at him. "I'm not trying to stall for any reason, I'm just justifying what's going on so you don't think I'm dumb or stupid or incapable of doing this or not worthy of your time."
...Why had she admitted that last part? She wasn't sure, but she hardly even realized the words had crossed her lips - she was already flipping the log around in front of her as if it'd somehow make a difference in performing the spell correctly. "I'm gonna get this. In one more try. I've gotta." For her own pride and mental stability, so she was going to have to make SURE she could do it, and stored away all his advice greedily. He hadn't answered her specific question, but maybe he couldn't remember what those rules were either. Or maybe there were none and she had made it up in her head. Maybe they were just study tactics she had used last term.
Everything he had said WAS helpful, though, and Sophie gave a few thoughtful nods. "That makes sense." And it did. So that was why she was so much better and natural at the vine-to-rope one. "Moving the wood around. I can picture that well," she said, giving Mo's boat a long glance before shutting her eyes and envisioning her log morphing into a boat as good as Mo's. She could do that. The log wasn't entirely dissimilar from the boat she had in mind - it wasn't like changing an object into something completely different in all its components. Wood was still going to be wood, and she just had to change its form.
Having reflected upon the mental picture for nearly a minute, Sophie took a calm, deep breath, opened her eyes, and gave her wand another twirl - she needed to stop doing that, though. Her wrist and fingers were getting sore. "Mine's gonna be better than yours," she told Mo, convincing herself more than him, smirking all the while. Then, casually and coolly and still keeping that strong mental image, she pointed, tapped, "Lignum Navicula."
...Well, it didn't look BETTER than Mo's, but IT WAS PRETTY DARN CLOSE TO BEING AS GOOD AS HIS. Sophie gave a delighted fist-pump with her free hand as the log transformed, then flattened it out mid-air to initiate a high-five. "NAILED IT. Can we go see if they float???" She might need help getting up again, though.

"Okay, you ready?" She demonstrated the wand movement, and repeated the spell a few more times so that Lux would hear the correct pronunciation. "Okay, your turn," she said, indicating some leaves. Lux could pick the one she wanted.
Nodding, Lux listened carefully to everything that Tessa told her. It was easy for her to understand how it worked, as it was merely common sense, but affirmation was never a bad thing.
Watching as Tessa performed the spell again, she waited until it was her turn before pointing to one of the leaves that had been dancing around earlier. There was no way she would focus her attention at multiple ones on her first attempt, but later on she would work her way towards that. Muttering the Piertotum Locomotor spell.... nothing happened. "Tessa, did I break the leaf?" Why wasn't it doing anything?
*Romulus nodded a little at her being pretty then shrugged at her next comment.*
"I will have to take your word on it for now. Seeing as how I've never met or know what your sister looks like."
*Her next comment made him think that maybe Anna had a stutter. She was faltering on her words all of the sudden. Now she was turning redder. Maybe she is getting sick or something?*
"Thank you, I like talking with you too. Are you okay? Your not getting ill or anything?"
She smiled at him and looked at her, "Oh well... I can actually show you..." Er, that probably sounded odd... but she gently pulled her bag to her and found her old picture of her sister.
"I'm fine just..." She gave a weak smile and tried to force herself to calm down, "I'm being a bit of an idiot..." Anna gave a weak laugh, "Guess that's what you get without much of a social life for five years huh?" Maybe she was trying to get off the topic before she acted like even more of an idiot.

TEN? Ten times?? Okay, maybe Penelope wasn't gonna leave it up to Tag to decide considering she'd expect only two or three at most. "How about five?" See, she could compromise. Five she could do, but not ten. That was overdoing it considering she wasn't trying to actually beat him up or anything.
Wait, he was laughing...? Oh, he had a pillow on. So that one probably didn't hurt as much as it could have. But now he was throwing it away? Alright then. "Should I go easy on you now then?" she asked with a grin.

Yes ten. But then Penelope was meeting him halfway, in terms of him getting punched that is. Well, ten would've been nice, he supposed, but considering it was Penelope's strength with ten punches, Penelope was smart to decrease the hits by half. "I can do five." He agreed to her idea.
Laughter had happened, yes, but it had stopped soon enough. Tag smirked at her question, "Of course not. Punch me as hard as you want. You only got five of them to relish with." Go easy on him. That didn't seem very Penelope-ish to Tag. He wanted to enjoy this to its full delight. She better be finding some sort of enjoyment or entertainment of punching people.

Tessa watched as Lux did the spell, mentally taking notes as she performed the spell. There were a few things that could be improved- but overall, the spell should have worked.
"No, you didn't break the leaf," she assured the girl, coming to stand beside her. "Give it a commend- aloud is best," she instructed, looking over at her. "And, if it didn't work, we'll just try it again," she added. After all, practice made perfect! And starting with the basics helped with spells later- but she didn't want Lux to worry about that yet.

Bart glanced at him, did he believe him? So many professors never took his side so why would this one be the first even though he did really like Professor Culloden. “He was just sitting there and having older students ask questions. Some of them were really hard and the ones that had never taken the class before wouldn’t have a clue. So I asked how we were suppose to know the information before he even tried to teach it to us first.” He shrugged to him it was an honest question. Okay he might have said that the headmistress might want to know he was slacking, but still honest questions in his eyes. “Alexa and Alice got all in my business about my questions and he got mad and told me I could leave.” Shrugging it off, the class was confusing, hard, and pointless anyway to no big deal to Bart.
“St. Mungos…” He thought this over, “That’s where they were born.” He tried to think about how it would help to know this information, but his mind quickly changed in thought when the professor said about her being fine. “Oh they are, I don’t know which one had the problem. My guess is Alana, because she cries nonstop. It’s so annoying.” He rolled his eyes, his baby sisters were weird, but cool at the same time.
[s] “Sorry”[/b] but he wasn’t for calling the woman dumb, she hated him and it was obvious. As quickly she got him thrown out for a few burns. Gosh had the woman never heard of burn paste. He just nodded not sure what else to say about his old schools class. “Well it wasn’t anything like yours.” Nope not at all. A groan left him at the word reading, why reading. “I enjoy doing better than reading. I.. can’t stay focused when it comes to reading, because it’s boring.” Yep boring that’s what it was, it wasn’t that his attention span was a short as an infant when needing to read, nope not at all.
Hehehhehehe
Bart laughed at the reaction, “Oh it was for a prank, I like pranks they’re fun. I told my step mom it was a beauty cream I was working on.” He had really hoped it would scare her away, but no they had been married two years now and his mother was getting married so yeah planned backfired.
Still really wanting to go into the water he sighed fine he’d go with him to see the other professor. “Well maybe we should learn from the squid how to protect ourselves better.” If he was so big and bad to these Grindylows. Bart’s focus was jumping away quickly from the professor when his eyes saw something move in the water, “Did you see that.. it’s something.” Maybe the squid and with that all other conversation vanished from his head. He was close to the water again.
Need to wh… He looked towards the man, he was leaving, but lake.. squid.. other professor..what? “ A week? “ His jaw dropped, “But it’s getting colder we need to..” He kew he shouldn’t fight a professor, but the disappointment was written all over his face, did he see?

"You did it!" Mo accepted her high five with a proud grin. Probably Sophie would have been able to figure it out on her own, and probably she didn't need his help, but he liked to think that he had in some way contributed to her success. Maybe he didn't teach her anything, but the pep talk surely had done some good. Surely.
"I think your boat is better than mine," Mo picked them both up and examined them from hull to bow and back again. He wanted to put a sail on his. A sail and an anchor and maybe a monkey to drive it around the lake. "I wish there was a way to race them, but I suppose for today we should be happy with merely floating them without getting waterlogged.
He took the few steps down the beach necessary to reach the water, and then Mo set his boat right into the shallow water. It wibbled and wobbled back and forth, coming perilously close to taking on water a few times before it slowly righted itself to sit upright in the water. Just like it was supposed to do. Mo save it a little shove out into the lake, and the bow parted the water like a knife through butter as it slid out into the lake.

Right, focusing on the task at hand! "Vinea Funiculus!" he exclaimed, pointing at the ropes again. Aha, there we go! Much better than before. He just needed to focus, and now he had a beautiful rope in front of him, ready to be added to the boat.
Sophie eyed Caleb out of the corner of her eye. He was NOT supposed to be laughing at her accidental run in with that pig known as Cutty Mordaunt. He was supposed to...err...pretend like he was the one who'd done it and gotten Sophie off the hook. Oh, well.
She playfully rolled her eyes at his comments regarding Christmas. Speaking of that, the holidays were coming up soon. Sophie actually wanted to get her brother something nice. He was, after all, her best friend. She waited for him to finishing practicing the spell then did one more round of practicing herself.
"Lignum Navicula!" she said with a tap. Then... "Vinea Funiculus!" she said with a point. "Okay, now to see if I can get a rope and a boat." She placed the vines in front of her then backed up a bit. "Vinea Funiculus!" she said with another point. POOF. A little sound came and the vines transfigured into a nice, sturdy rope. "Cool."
Not one for rubbing it in, but he had told her that the branch was not safe. And he was not going to make a comment about her making a mistake, she obviously knew that she had already. "I wouldn't put my foot..."
SNAP.
..."there."
Michael had already moved into position to catch her should she fall which is what she almost did.
Fortunately she managed to grab hold of a branch and now she was dangling in front of him. "Well you certainly know how to keep a guy on his toes." He stepped forward and placed his hands on her waist. "You can let go now. I've got you."
The only place he would be taking her now, was the hospital wing.
Bart glanced at him, did he believe him? “Fine”
Cosgrach frowned to himself. He didn't personally know Botros, but... the man had this wise look on him that he would never mistreat someone. It was odd, but Cosgrach shrugged. What was even weirder was how Alice took Botros' side too. She had also struck him as a girl to support who was right only, definitely the opposite of a suck-up, but... guess Cosgrach had been wrong in believing so. He looked confused--not because he didn't believe Bart, but because he was reprimanding himself for falling for the first impressions.
"Drop the class, then?" he said like any sane person would suggest. "And pick something else. It isn't mandatory, right?" Last time he had been here, it wasn't. He couldn't comment more on it, though, because he really had to go.
...okay, this was weird. He knew one of his sisters had a problem, but he didn't know which? Cosgrach didn't want to think about the quality of parenting, so he just sighed and nodded. "I'm glad," he muttered--even though the girl kept crying, she was at least fine?
...oh, c'mon. Cosgrach rolled his eyes. "Reading doesn't kill you," he said impatiently, matching his groan. "You can use simple charts to learn stuff if reading is that boring." It was obvious he didn't share his opinion, though. "Like I said, I want to help you, but I won't have you blindly experiment." So it was HIS choice. A little boooooring for much fun afterwards, or being a complete adventurous good-for-nothing? Because Cosgrach wasn't going to teach him book information outside class. That was unfair and boooring for Cosgrach.
...CHILDREN. "You just make sure you keep your pranks away from me." He wasn't threatening, but he meant it. He had to admit it was funny, though. He just wasn't admitting it in front of Bart so as not to encourage him.
Huh? Something? Cosgrach shook his head. "I didn't see anything." And then he ignored the disappointment. "Not a week after. I meant in this week. Like tomorrow or something. Just not now." He checked his watch again, and turned towards the castle.
"It was a nice chat," he said and grinned. "Hope to see ya around." And he really hoped. Because he couldn't tell for sure that he wouldn't just jump in there.

"Lignum Navicula!" he exclaimed, tapping the lumber he'd brought with him and watching as it transfigured itself into a beautiful boat. Ah, so HE was just as good at this as Sophie was! First try WOOOT!
