Stars illuminate the dark canvas of the sky as you make your way to the Astronomy Tower and enter the Astronomy classroom where once again Heating Charms are in place. Perhaps a little too strongly, but Professor Flamsteed has become especially sensitive to cold weather with his weary bones. The desks are arranged in their usual semi circle to help created a more personal environment and have the addition of a small present for each of you as you sit down at your desk. Professor Flamsteed's desk is positioned in the front of the classroom and doesn't have anything terribly exciting about it. Save for perhaps the professor sitting behind it. Off to the side on another table are all of your solar systems in a box, but don't go and get them just yet.
So come on in and find your seat. Oh, and don’t forget to use the lint roller.......wait...it is missing again. Oh well.

Jupiter down, Adi decided to try another angle. So she shuffled off, finally deciding on a spot just opposite to where he had just worked. He used Lens Focalis once more and began another search. He hummed softly to himself as he did so.
It took him a while but he finally spotted...Neptune!

Bart listened as Professor Flamdude talked about finding planets. This was why he liked this class. He liked looking at things in the sky and it was cool to actually find things. Once they were allowed to get up he grabbed his book and went to his telescope. Searching the sky he really didn't see anything. Maybe he wasn't looking in the right direction. That's when he noticed. He had his telescope pointed down.
Whoops.
Well that was embarrassing. The twelve year old quickly lifted it hoping no one had noticed. He moved it in the sky and tried to find something. Hearing people yelling out planets he wondered if he should focus the way they were, but he was enjoying the things he was seeing. He kind of wondered if he could use a telescope to his own advantage, but well they were still on the castle to guess not what he wanted it for.
Moving it around he looked up over the forest.

"Why'd you think? Forbidden? Duuuuhhh." She smacked the back of his head lightly. He needed to use that thing called his brain, though it seemed he knew how to use that thing called his stomach.
Marshmellows! YUM! "Yes! Please." She opened her palm waiting for some yummy contents. "We gonna melt them, right?" That was the point of coming here in the first place wasn't it?
"Oh and we should look out for fairies, even small ones." Much more important than anything else. Yep.
"Hey I found something. I think it's Jupiter?" Was that right? He looked at his notes. "Yes Jupiter"
Annabeth thought it wasn't kind from Professor Flamsteed talking to her that way. Though, he was senile now, right? Old people should be called odd people...
The girl took her telescope and went towards a window. Anna pointed her wand and cast the Lens Focalis spell. It was stroke of luck that Mars seemed to be waiting for her!!
She took her notes quickly and took her telescope to a nearby window.

Y'know, Cosgrach would have liked to snap and point out that she was coming tomorrow because he SAID so, but first being attacked by a stupid kneazle, then being trapped by the soil, and lastly finding himself on the ground was terribly humiliating, so he didn't even ATTEMPT. Instead, he waited paaaaaaatiently for his threat to sink in--
She didn't laugh, good, but what was taking her so long--
That Cosgrach doubted she even HEARD him--
He tried to get up and not groan, because she was speaking now. He finally got up while she was speaking about 'crying'--that word never ceased to alert him--and he regained his taller posture on her by the time she was saying 'extra points'.
Extra... extra... extra points!
Blackmailing... blackmailing... blackmailing a professor!
"How--dare--you--?" was all he could say for the first few seconds. His face turned dramatically red in a matter of miliseconds, and it was obvious he didn't breathe well. To muggles, he might very well pass for a 'heart attack'. In essence, he was FUMING. He wondered if some steam escaped him as well. "Ten points off Gryffindor!" WHAT did she think he was?! Some CHEAP clown that humoured people here? "Make that two weeks four, and no days off! I expect to see you there every day from six to nine PM, and I am not responsible if someone catches you on your way to Gryffindor tower after your curfew time."
SHE--OUTRAGEOUS--WHAT DID SHE THINK--Had she bribed her way to that badge too?
Giving her one last look of utter disappointment, he stormed off towards the castle. Anything she might have said was ignored, and he was reporting that to Seren.

Twenty-five minutes?! Oh my MERLIN!
Sophie retrieved a telescope and moved throughout the room. Yes. It was a good thing the room was circular. There were people everywhere, and room to look out and see the sky was few and far between. Sophie finally found a spot nobody else was crammed into and set up her telescope.
Sophie stood behind the telescope and peered into it. She moved it first to the left and then to the right. Oh, was that something?! It was! Sophie first tried to adjust the telescope manually. When that proved to be taking too long, she decided to cast the spell. Taking her wand out, she said, "Lens Focalis!"
The telescope zoomed in and focused on the object she'd seen. Sophie studied the object and finally decided it was Pluto! "Pluto," she said aloud, marking down her finding.

What? Nooo! She wasn't supposed to cry and call her 'the first real friend' because she was Beverly's first real friend too and... SUDDEN URGE TO CRY, WHY? Blinking quickly, the third year shrugged like it was no big deal. "Thanks...you're cool too. Anyway, they're chocolate chip." With a hint of a charm.
Beverly had been precise about her charming and daydreams. It consisted of three visions. The first, of course her favorite one, was where she stood on a hill near her home, Wayne Manor. All of a sudden a dragon swoops down below and whines at her to ride him. For most rational wizards that would be a sign to get the hell out of there and hope to live. Evidently not this witch.
With eager eyes, the Snake watched her friend. How was she going to react to a dragon chasing her around?

First in her house was easy peasy, psh. No sweat.
Grabbing a telescope, Alice headed towards a window. Of course, she knew how to manually focus one of these bad boys, but a quick "Lens Focalis!" was a lot faster, so that was exactly what she did. After a few minutes of searching, she found what she thought was the easiest of the four. Jupiter. Ta-da. Focusing the telescope a bit more manually, she could even see it in more detail. The color of it looked so nice today.
Anyway, that was one planet down, three to go.
Her last lesson from Airey Flamsteed, and she WAS getting that special something. She was.

This was really fun and he was liking the movement he could do standing and moving the telescope around. It helped that Flamdude made the class fun and he actually wanted to try for the man. It wasn't something he did often either, but Culloden and Flamdude seemed to do something that made the boy want to try. As he moved to focus the telescope he glanced around the grounds. Where oh where did the little planets go.. Oh where oh where could they be? He was laughing a bit has he moved his focus over the courtyard.
Was that something he squinted into the telescope like it would help or something. That looked like a planet, but which one. He glanced at his book. No not Mars, no it wasn't Pluto, so did that mean it had to be Neptune, right? He glanced back in the telescope and then back to his book. Once more into the telescope. "Yep it's Neptune."

Ohh, this was FUN! Yes, Sophie Newell was actually calling a class fun. Imagine that. Sophie picked up her belongings and decided to try a different spot in the room. She carefully maneuvered her telescope throughout the sea of students. She didn't want to accidentally bang it against somebody else's telescope and lose time in the activity.
Sophie moved around the room until she found a second spot to stand in. When she did, she placed her telescope in front of her and then stood behind it. She first zoomed in toward the tree house again, but she couldn't see anything but Pluto. So she adjusted her telescope and tried the area over by the bridge. It took a few minutes, but she finally found--something.
"Lens Focalis!" she said, adjusting her telescope again. She studied her finding until she was able to figure out what it was. "Jupiter," she said to herself.

Sophie decided that she was on a roll now! She'd found two of the four planets, which meant that in only a few minutes time, she was through with half the activity! Sophie checked the time. Whoaaa! Ten minutes had passed? She only had fifteen minutes left, which meant she could do this if she kept up the way she'd been going!
Sophie moved around the room again, still making sure to not bump telescopes with anybody. The last thing she needed was to spend her last fifteen minutes cleaning up a mess. Sophie found an available spot in the circular room and set up her telescope. She immediately got behind it and began searching the skies.
This time, she decided to try the Forbidden Forest. She never really got to look at it, seeing as it was...ya know, forbidden and all. Finding something, she took out her wand and adjusted her telescope. "Lens Focalis!" she said. She zoomed in on the object. Aww, darn. A large star. She quickly moved her telescope in another direction. Oh, what was that?! It was--... "Neptune," she said. Only one more!

What a great thing this was. He didn't know why but finding these planets really made him feel like he was smart or something. That really didn't happen that often if he admitted it to people. When professors just thought he was causing trouble it was hard to feel like he was doing something right, but he was finding them. That had to be right.
Noticing some stars his focus left the planets for awhile. He was trying to see what shapes he could find. Was there any he recognized? Not thinking about the planets anymore he moved his telescope to look further out. What constellations would be out right now he wondered. He was about to look in his book when he heard someone say about a planet.
Oh right, planets. He started focusing again and looked in his book. "Mars. You have to be mars." He looked down at his book and then back in his telescope. Oh yeah that was certainly mars.

... Oh, look. There she was, near the entrance to the Gazebo. Delilah picked her kitty pick up before making her back inside and sat down. She might as well spend some time here before returning back to the castle. She liked this place. Mhm.
Annabeth adjusted the focus and began searching for another planet. She had already found Mars and the star Aldebaran. It meant that Jupiter should be somewhere at west from them.
It was a bit hard to find. She looked away from the telescope, rubbed her eyes and then turned to look through the sky without lens. "I got it!" It was there, the beautiful and big planet waiting for her to look. She checked it with the telescope and added to her notes.

She'd found Neptune before, so after her coincidental discovery of Jupiter, Alice began to go about this in a very systematic way. First, locate the Summer Triangle... check. The star at the bottom of it was called Altair, and if she drew a line from it going to the lower left, she came across Beta Aquarii. Continuing from there, the seventh year moved her eyes in the same direction and came across the star Theta.
After stumbling upon Theta, her eyes tried to form the triangle using Theta, Sigma, and Iota. Why were all these named after Greek letters again? But right inside the triangle, nearest to Sigma, was Neptune. Another planet down!

"I probably overdid something at try-outs that I didn't know of...and then moved them the wrong way now. " That would make sense...right? For you to feel something like that after the fact? Shifting slightly in position on the ground, he drew his attention back to his friend as they continued talking about interests. "Honestly, I'm not much into superheros," Benjamin answered apparently finding something that was different between them. "And don't know much about music. I have gotten into fantasy books a little." Other then that he would admit he had had the same luck of finding someone who had much in common with him as Adi.
"Well, my mum owns a cafe," he answered, thinking on his father's side of the response. It was kind of hard to describe. "And my father works for the ministry." That seemed about as easy as he could put it and hopefully Adi wouldn't require further explaination.

Oooh, this sounded like a really fun activity! Eagerly, Lux got to her feet and hurried over to one of the telescopes in the room. Remembering how to use the telescope properly from what her friends had taught her, she had no problem performing the Lens Focalis spell. Looking around the grounds, she wasn't finding anything until finally Jupiter came into view. "Aha, I found you!" One down, three to go.

But now he knew. Awwww. Poor Lady Lux. She was so naive. It wasn’t her fault she didn’t know. “That’s why it was a little confusing.”
Louis glanced at Bay a little warily. Would his best friend believe them? Surely he wouldn’t think Louis was sick enough to go and get romantically involved with someone who was like a little sister to all of them! The boy turned his attention to Sander then, as the older Hufflepuff placed an arm around his shoulder and apologized. Louis smiled and shook his head at him. “Don’t worry about it, mate. It was a weird situation, I know.” When he suggested they give Bay and Lux some privacy, he nodded his head and returned his gaze to Bay. Did the Gryffindor want to speak to Lux privately? Louis kind of hoped he would. He needed to explain things to Lux.

BLINK.
... Bright side: they didn't have to move around the grounds. They just... had to stay up here, right? That's what Alec told himself as he grabbed his telescope and journal and heaved himself out of his seat. He would have done some stretching too but considering... things, he was going to pass on that. Instead, he was going to find a spot that nobody was near, yeah? Awesome. That way he didn't have to bump elbows with someone and end up hitting them in the face. Just... yeah. No.
Finding an empty spot, the boy came to a stop and set up his telescope. Now... he needed to do... something. To the telescope. That's what Flamsteed had said, right? BLINK. Grey-blue eyes searched the classroom to see what the others were-- ... Lens... Fo...? Lens Fo...? Fo... calis? Was that what they had said? Focalis. "Lens Focalis!"Swish and flick!
Aha! That was much better, wasn't it? He peered through the telescope and up towards a cluster of stars towards the West. Stars... stars... more stars... lots and lots of stars... and...
"Jupiter!" he whispered. And he should make a note of this, yeah? Awesome.

Okay, Sophie had this! She only had to find Mars, and then she'd be done--and on time, too! Sophie was rarely ever on time with anything. Well, she was, just not anything dealing with school. Unless it was Quidditch-related. Now THAT she was on time for.
Nevermind all that rambling, though. She could think of that later!
Sophie collected her telescope and moved to the last side of the room she hadn't been in yet. It was the area that looked out onto the front of the school, where the gate was. Sophie set up her telescope and moved behind it. She'd found Pluto, Jupiter, and Neptune, so what was left? Ahh, yes--Mars. Wherefore art thou, Mars?!
Hehe.
Sophie stood behind the telescope and began to search the skies. When she found something, she decided to try and adjust the telescope manually. That was something she hadn't done successfully yet, so why not? Sophie turned the little piece around the lens and tried to get it to zoom in on whatever this was in the sky.
Hopefully Mars.
Please be Mars. Sophie could see that the planet, or so that's what she hoped it was, was getting sharper and sharper through the eyes of her telescope. When it finally zoomed in, Sophie could very distinctly make out the details of MARS! YAY, MARS!
Sophie did a little fist pump then backed away. She took a deep breath. Marathon of planet hunting = DONE.

He had found three. This was great! His time with the telescopes and with the telescope he had at his dad's house was really helping him. He would have to thank Becky for the boring stargazing stories she made him listen too. Not that he wanted to hear about how her and his dad would sit under them and talk and cuddle or whatever before they got married. Somethings like that he didn't need to know, but making him go with them to see the stars that he guessed wasn't a total loss since he seemed to be finding things a little more easy in this class.
Not that he found the three he was done right? Oh wait Flamdude said something about the muggle show dog right the dog that hung with the mouse? Or well not the dog, but the planet that the dog was probably named after. Pluto wasn't it? He searched around and noticed some stars. Was that a planet? He squinted a bit. No that seemed like just some reflection or an animal that passed by. Where was this Pluto, could you even really see it? It was a planet impostor anyway, wasn't that how the story went?
Well anyway he was going to maybe take a break when he noticed something. Looking a little further into his telescope and focusing it he looked to his book. "Pluto, that has to be Pluto. Professor I'm pretty sure I found them!" He was so proud of himself right now.

Was it just her senile brain or could she not remember how to locate Mars? It was too difficult to think of, so Alice took to just scouring the night sky until she found it. There were so many stars out that night, and as she wiggled her telescope around in search of the volcano planet, she found herself getting distracted. Focus, Fischer. Bart was going pretty quick too, and she HAD to get this done before him.
Hers. That prize was hers.
After a bit more telescope relocating and finding Jupiter three more times, her lens finally landed on the planet she was searching for. Mars. Check! Now.. just Pluto. Tiny, evasive Pluto. He was taunting her, wasn't he?

Adi decided to go find another spot to continue his search. His favourite planet was the last on the short list. Oh where oh where are you, Mars? Adi used the spell for the third time on the telescope.
Come on out, Mars!
.............
After what felt like a year or two, Adi found it! Mars! The best dwarf planet ever!

When Justine expressed her disbelief over the Whomping Willow being on school grounds, Louis nodded his head. “I agree completely. But whenever I bring it up my classmates just look at me like I’m the crazy one for minding it,” he said with a chuckle, burying his hands into the pockets of his coat as a chilly wind danced past them.
The boy laughed lightly when Justine teased him after his comment on her use of a common phrase. Whaddayaknow, the teacher had jokes of her own! He grinned at her, but his expression turned puzzled as she spoke again in French. “Je ne suis pas sûr que je comprends…” he said, brows furrowed. “I understood the first half, I think.” The boy wasn’t used to hearing the language so often, so he tended to get lost if it was spoken too quickly.
A moment later, both kids were back on solid, non-creaky or wobbly ground. Louis nodded at the silhouette of a very large, peaceful-looking tree in the distance. “There it is. The object of your fascination.” He turned to Justine with a smile before walking again, in the direction of the tree. They were still too far for it to even spot them, though, and so it continued to sway gently with the light breeze, looking as innocent as any other tree would. "Is he as beautiful as you imagined?" the boy teased.
Annabeth was thrilled with her luck that night. She had already found Jupiter and Mars. Pluto should be at southwest from Jupiter. She looked at the sky and spun around herself, trying to figure what window would provide her with the best angle to find Pluto.
Five steps left, she found the place. After adjusting her lens again with the same spell, she found it.

Why did she had to remind that? He grunted and made an angry face. "I can't believe they actually did that to you." To Annie, one of the nicest people on earth, such a great headmistress too, he'd heard. To Botros too, though he had to admit: he LOVED seeing Orsino up there. Such a treat.
"Don't mention it, Annie." He wouldn't have let anyone else to do it. Now he knew how ruthless the students of Hogwarts could be: pieing an old man and a pretty woman. And the satisfaction in their eyes!

Alice was getting overly antsy and agitated with her apparent inability to locate Pluto. What? Was the thing so dwarfed up that her eyes couldn't find it? This was an awful time for her rapid aging to start acting up, and the seventh year was making a habit of moving her telescope around in all sorts of directions until she landed on something.
Was that... no. Neptune AGAIN. Dammit.
She kept looking, frantically wriggling about her telescope in the most frenetic of ways... until... Sagittarius. That's where it was, yeah? Where was centaur guy, though? The lioness couldn't FIND him.
Nope, wait. There he was. And amid his stars was the ever evasive Pluto.
"DONE!" Yes. Done. Where was her PRIZE, Airey Flamsteed?

After finding the first planet on the list, Lux was on a bit of a high. Though the fact that they only had 25 minutes to do this activity in made her a little nervous. What if she was not able to find all four of them in one go? It was a scary thought, because Lux did not failure. It was something she needed to work on, because generally it made her want to cry.
Deciding to move her telescope around a little, she spun it some before focusing the lens more. After a little while, Pluto popped into view. Little Pluto, which some people still considered a planet. It was a shame it got demoted. Oh well, at least she was half done this activity!

Ian shook his head as Bart responded to the adult person. Why were children around here so rude? Ian wondered if the state of child-rearing in the current society was failing or non-existent.
Ian saw through the goading statements of the boy. Not scared, just don't want to do it. If you're so proud of yourself and your abilities, why do you need to throw your frog first? He glanced nervously at the groundskeeper, hoping he wasn't ruining his chances of being able to be a helper.

Sander scanned the skies again. Looking closely at each possible celestial body in the sky, trying to find the rest of the planets.
He moved his telescope to the left and right slowly until he saw it...
It was Pluto...he had found Pluto...even if it technically wasn't a planet.

"Don't worry, its definitely the best house" he grinned. Why wouldn't it be? They had the common room under the lake and you could see all the different creatures. The perfect location for the creature loving sixth year.
Well he was definitely glad to see that the mock bowing of his head had made her laugh. Cheering people up was a great pastime and a personality trait that would stick for a long time. She got up and curtsied. He raised his brow but smiled all the same. "You flatter me" he chuckled, surprised that he could actually speak like this. It was strange, how both your behaviour and language could change depending on who you were with. He was much more casual among his dormmates than he was with a stranger. Though hopefully she wouldn't be a stranger for long.
Oh that was interesting. His mum had been to Japan more than once on work related business but he had never had the opportunity to. It sounded like a fascinating place. "You're well traveled" he commented. Although Terry had visited a lot of places, he had never moved from his home on the Isles of Skye.
Homeschooling wasn't particularly interesting. "It got a bit boring after a while. I was only with my twin so I never got to interact with people my age. That's why I much prefer school. I can be sociable here" Form those social ties that would last a lifetime. Oh the staircases! They could definitely be a nuisance. "They do take you off in completely the wrong direction sometimes. You've got to be quick." Easy said than done though. Even if you were running up them they could change direction at any moment.

After swinging her telescope around a little more and not really finding anything else that was of interest, Lux decided that it might be a good idea to relocate and see if that would give her better luck. Heading over to the other end of the circular room, she picked another telescope and performed the Lens Focalis spell on it.
Spinning the telescope around, she moved with it. Nothing was coming into view. Then she decided to try adjusting the dials a little more. She kept working at it until a red circle came into her view. It was Mars. Now there was only Neptune to go and she was finished this activity.

Mel knew that it was probably sealed with a lot of charms so she wasnt even tempted to try it so she found a nice tree and leaned against it, sitting down. Melek took out a book from her bag and opened it to the page she left off on. Mel started to read and zone out her surroundings. A smile creep onto her face as she turned page after page. Her hair blew around as the wind seemed to be dancing around her. Her hair was done for once and not even in a ponytail. The blowing hair didnt seem to distract her from her reading though.
"All I need now is find Neptune..." Annabeth walked around the room searching for a good view. She tried one window nearby where she had found Pluto, though it wasn't there. Again, she took her telescope and walked to the next window. She found the constellation of Carina, with its brightest star Canopus. It was beautiful, though Neptune wasn't there. Anna took the telescope and went to other window. After adjusting it manually, she found the constellation Canis Major, with its big star Sirius. She remained a few minutes gaping at it. But she wasn't looking for star, right? Neptune... Annabeth looked at a opposite window to the north and went to there. She was feeling tired at the time. After adjusting the lens once again, she found Pollux star in the northern constellation of Gemini. Anna sighed and looked at the sky with naked eye. "There!" She shouted as she had found the last planet at southeast from Pollux. Anna added it to her notes and began to draw a stellar chart.

Delilah was so going to have to see the Healer about this too. She needed to stop thinking about this boy.. and his lips. "Of course, I am. Why wouldn't I be? I'm perfectly okay and fine... yes." Delilah ran a hand through her hair and looked down at her feet. She honestly felt like such an idiot. But this was so weird! Why did she want to kiss someone who didn't like her that way?

Relieved that she had only one more planet to find, Lux was sure that she would manage to finish the activity in the required time period. Surely Professor Flamsteed wouldn't have asked them to do this in only 25 minutes unless it was more than possible. He was a very nice man, and he would not ask them to do anything that was incredibly complicated. Then then, maybe she was biased because she liked him so much.
Adjusting her dials a little more, Lux kept moving her telescope around. Neptune was out there somewhere. It had to be far away in the sku, because it was way out there with Pluto and all the other Gas Giants. It was a shame that she would not be able to see Saturn, because it was really pretty with all of it's rings and colours. Saturn might be her favourite planet.
Searching a little more, Neptune finally popped into her sights. "Awesome, I have found all of the planets." She had been right in thinking that the Professor wouldn't have asked them to do something if it was practically impossible.
Was the lesson over when everyone else finished? Or could she have more fun looking into space?

"Ok," she said, looking up from her notes. "It's pretty easy for the most part, I guess. Just put the potion in our mouths and breathe on each other. Just like in class." Except she had been too shy to try it in class so she wasn't sure exactly what it would be like. What if she accidentally swallowed it? She knew it wasn't exactly dangerous as was demonstrated in class, but it did seem painful. And she didn't like the sound of that.
