Stars illuminate the dark canvas of the sky as you make your way to the Astronomy Tower and enter the Astronomy classroom where once again Heating Charms are in place. Perhaps a little too strongly, but Professor Flamsteed has become especially sensitive to cold weather with his weary bones. The desks are arranged in their usual semi circle to help created a more personal environment and have the addition of a small present for each of you as you sit down at your desk. Professor Flamsteed's desk is positioned in the front of the classroom and doesn't have anything terribly exciting about it. Save for perhaps the professor sitting behind it. Off to the side on another table are all of your solar systems in a box, but don't go and get them just yet.
So come on in and find your seat. Oh, and don’t forget to use the lint roller.......wait...it is missing again. Oh well.

She was left with Mars, Earth's neighbor. Beverly would have kept on looking if it wasn't for the discomfort and for some students crowding up her space. And yes, she did mind so she stood up and walked to another opened space. It was nicer here, anyway.
Searching for Mars shouldn't have taken her more than a few minutes, but she was tired and she wanted to go to sleep. The thought of earning house points was all that kept the third year awake, though the image of just curling up by the window and sleeping was tempting.
Shaking her head and blinking her eyes a few times, she set out for the search. MARS. Where the Fawkes are you! Ohhhh! THERE. RIGHT. THERE. Beverly glanced down at her chart, then back up at the sky. Yep, that was it. Could she go to bed now?
SPOILER!!: Mars

Many thanks to her bestie for the distraction right now. She WILL NOT slow down. Constant Vigilance! Faster, she started to run faster as she started to lose sight of Kirby. Perhaps if he tried that little trick of his again he might win, perhaps. But the way things were going...
Cutty manually moved the student standing by the telescope so that he could have a moste immediate and unobstructed view through it. He swung that sucker toward the night sky and sought out that heavenly nobody, Pluto. West, was it? He aimed for the west, but the lense brought back nothing, save a little Neptune.

Okaay. So she was done. Yaay. Could she nap now? Could she? Well she was gonna. She sneakily sat down, by her telescope so that she could pretend she was looking for stars, but actually nap. She did have a little look at the stars first. Because she loved stars. They were pretty. She yawned though, shaking her head. She really did need that nap. Ooooh. That was a really shiny star. She twisted her telescope around, and had a better look at it.
Ooh shinnnny. She liked it!

"Lens Focalis." Cutty tried the spell as he again swung the telescope back to the west and away again, then he sort of got caught up in a private game of connecting the dots, using the stars as dots. The view from inside the telescope would've inched from one shinning body to another then backtracked, almost double-taking at one in particular. It was quite bright and the most likely candidate for Jupiter. Jupiter. Girls go to Jupiter to get more stupider.

But then she came across Alexa at the willow and that only meant two things. She was gonna go all gryffindor on it (which was always interesting), or she'd already gone gryffindor on something else which would explain the talking to plants. Too many kicks to the head.

Yawnn. She really was tired now. And that shinny shinnny star really wasn't going to keep her awake any more. She sighed, pushing herself into a standing position, and having a little move around. She shook her legs, trying to wake herself up. She wanted to wake up, because she was sure that Airey wouldn't appreciate her falling asleep in his lesson. Even if she had finished the task. So she really did not want to fall asleep.
Okaaay. Her legs were wokan up now. She sat down, and looked back into her telescope. Shinnny star again. She liked that stare. Could she name if after herself? pleasseee?

Cutty starred at Jupiter. Something about it fascinated him. Possibly the size it was said to have, though he was not normally hung up on such matters such as size, being most fascinated by function after all was said and done. Though, in this particular case, considering size seemed to be helpful. Slowly, he backtracked the lense, focusing the telescope over to the side and spotted one of the other dots he had been connecting in the sky. It was not a star as he had suspected.
Focalis. "Lens Focalis." He spoke the incantation again calmly trying to get a good gander at the red thing.

Well, at least he wasn't mad at her right? Well she hoped he wasn’t.

Grace jumped a little as she suddenly woke up. Opps. She'd acciddently fallen asleep. On her telescope. And poked herself in the eye again. Ouch. That had hurt. She pouted a little, rubbing at her eye. She really did need a nap now. OR something anyway. Hopefully the lesson would be over soon. She didn't bother looking into her telescope any more. She didn't want to like poke herself in the eyes again. She might go blind or something because she was old and that was just not good at all.
She hummed, just watching the others. Yupp. People Watching.

There was something about Astronomy, perhaps the elevation change, that made Cutty whistle and hum. This time it was given to sound a bit Oo-de-lally-esque. Something to get into trouble by. Cutty drew back to look at the room at large. Everyone was peering into their telescopes and he'd failed to notice Grace, so he thought it would be perfectly socially acceptable to release a quick and almost suppressed sounding g-note.
BRAP!
Cutty smiled a private smile and stuck his eye back onto the telescope and spotted the faint non-planet, whilst continuing his whistle.

Since he had been done with finding the planets, Bart had been quiet.. Extra quiet, which his mother would say wasn't a good sign at all, but this time he was just looking at the sky through his telescope. Finding constellations and just looking at the stars in general. Not really worried about what was going on around him. That was until he heard a noise and he looked around. "Who was that?" Because he could do better and louder if they wanted to make a competition out of it.
He felt the air bubbles and probably could do either way depending on which competition they were after. Eyes still around the tower he shrugged it off and a smelly quieter sounding air bubble out his bottom. Just an invitation if anyone wanted it. Heh..
Turning back to his telescope the twelve year old looked into it. Hmmm he leaned it down adjusted it and started moving it around the tower. He could see up noses with this thing if he adjusted it right. This was one way to watch what the others were doing, but since most of them were boring he would just watch other things. That could occupy his time, couldn't it.

Ian was still working hard at trying to see things, but since he was only able to find Jupiter, he shrugged and decided to just give up. It was late and he was getting sleepy. Way past this second year's normal bedtime. His stomach was a little rumbly too and he could hear gurgling noises coming from his midsection.
Ian straightened his back and took a deep breath and nearly gagged on the odor. My goodness this place was beginning to smell a bit like a stable He moved closer to an open window, hoping to get some fresh air. He looked back and wondered, quite loudly Which of you old farts are getting all smelly up here? This is not a large space and I'm not sure I can stand the scent much more. Sleepy and hungry did not make Ian very happy. His mood soured almost to the point it had been when he was having trouble seeing through the telescope. He was just ready to be done with this lesson.

But now that the eyepiece is off, I can't really see very clearly and I'm not sure I will be able to successfully complete this activity. I don't know what's going on with my eyes, but it's kind of frustrating. This was a big step for Ian. He had been raised to be proud of his independence and to admit failure to a teacher was a really difficult step for him. He had already in some way done that with Mr. Kirby, but this was different. This was an actual professor who gave them passes or fails. He didn't want to be held back.
The astronomer was still gripping his chest in pain when the Hufflepuff approached him, and managed a feeble smile at his question. "There is a temporary solution, but if your eyes are bothering you quite a bit already I do not recommend you use it for longer than a few minutes," he replied as he took his wand out and idly waved it about. "There is a spell, Oculo Focalis that will help sharpen your vision. Just flick your wand towards your eyes. Should help you see a little more clearly."
Hand finally feeling as though it could leave his chest, he coughed a few times before giving the Hufflepuff another wrinkly smile. "It IS fine not to find all the planets. This is all for practice and practice makes perfect."

"Rise and shine."
Basting stuff? What was it with kids today and talking about food and everything. Was it the Nutella talk? Which reminded him that he really did want to go to the kitchens and make a thing or two. "Meet me in the kitchens tomorrow, Miss Cambridge," he nodded. Then they could baste away....or whatever.
Checking his sundial watch once more, he coughed - and swallowed whatever it was that had come up from his throat - and tapped his wand against his desk twice loudly to draw attention his direction.
"Time to start putting your telescopes away and packing up your things," he announced sadly. "As I said earlier, your solar systems are for you to take home with you. They are your creations to keep and I hope that, as you hold them in your hand, that you all see your own potential and never stop creating. You may not hold the world in your hands, but you hold your own fate in them."
Not going to cry. NOT going to cry!
"The winners of our little competition were Mr. Bart, Mr. Rehman, Miss Newell, and Miss Rhys-Davies," he continued, giving the four a feeble golf clap before giving his wand a flick and conjuring four house colored boxes on his desk. "Your rewards are inside these, so please come up and get them. Two of my personal favorite Solar System related things." Which were his favorite book to have read to him before bed as a child and a selection of chocolates.
Still not going to cry, even if there was something in his eye right now that was making him look like he was. Totally something in his eyes.

Yep.
"Once you are done putting everything away you are free to do. BUT, could I please see all 7th years up here by my desk?" He had a little something for all of them and he wanted to be entirely sure that they got it. Just in case he, you know, didn't make it to the end of term feast.
Class is dismissed at this point, but if you still need to finish up the activity you may. I will not be closing this thread for a bit, but please finish all activity related posts ASAP. Anything after 12 hours from the time of this post will not be accepted.
Thank you all for another fun term and I look forward to see you all in lessons next term <3

A book? That was his prize for being first? Not that he cared he was first in his house. He was enjoying finding the planets and didn't even realize he had found them first, but Flamdude gave them books. Ugh couldn't it be something cooler, though the planet shape chocolates were cool. He liked those, so it was kind of a tie of lame and cool. He glanced at the professor with the red box in his hand. "Thanks professor" He would still show his manners.
Turning around he went back to his station and started cleaning up. Packing away the telescope. He really wasn't ready for the class to end and wondered if she could stay longer, but was tired at the same time. He felt like he could sit on the chair and take a nap right there. So he would come back later for star gazing. Yes that was a good plane in his mind at least .
Once everything was packed up he gathered his book bag and headed for the door. "Thanks again professor for the lesson. Looking for planets was fun." He did enjoy it and he did like that he got to keep his solar system. He would have to put it in his bedroom at home, er well whatever bedroom ended up being his once his mum decided what the heck she was doing.

Ian nodded and gratefully accepted his instruction. Had he been a little more observant, he would have noticed the professor appeared in a great deal of physical discomfort. This wasn't abnormal anymore around the school as a good portion of the student body (himself included) were in some measure of physical discomfort. What was different was that the professor seemed to be clutching his chest and probably needed medical assistance. Alas, Ian was not that observant.
As he heard the professor announce the winners, Ian was glad. He was ready to be headed down to the kitchen level, maybe stopping by the kitchen on the way for a little nibble of something. He was tired, hungry and really not happy with the horrible odor that seemed to have settled at nose level in the class.
He cleaned up his things, gathered his box of planets and waving non chalantly at the professor he spoke a goodbye. Later professor. Your class is one of the best this term. What other class could he create his own solar system. Granted, it was weak looking except for his gassy planet, but still he'd made it.

Sander looked away from the telescope's viewfinder when the Astronomy Professor began to speak. Sadly, class was over and for him this would be his last Astronomy lesson in Hogwarts. Sander sighed getting all emotional again.
....the Professor wanted to speak to the 7th years? Sander wondered whether he wanted to talk to them about their coming NEWTs exam. Sander shuddered just at the mention of those two words.
NEWTs Exam!!
Did they really have to sit for it? Could they like just bypass having to do that since they were now old and probably couldn't remember anything they had learnt in the past?
Sander reluctantly walked over to his workstation and checked to make sure everything was clean and in its proper place before packing his things into his backpack. Slinging it over his shoulder, Sander walked up to Professor Flamsteed.
"Professor, you wanted to see us? I'm a 7th year," Sander identified himself just in case the Professor was wondering what he was doing there.

Alec was confused. Naturally. He had just headed back to his desk to pack up his items when he heard what Flamsteed had to say. All the seventh years? They weren't in trouble, right? Not that he could remember think of something they all could have done to be in trouble so... yeah. Confused.
Once he was done packing up his things, the boy swung his bag over his shoulder before heading all the way up to the front of the classroom. "Everything okay, Professor?" Mentioning the fact that that had been a good lesson can wait. And hugs. Hugs can wait too. Instead, he was just going to stand there with his hands in his pockets looking lame ... cool? Eh.

Comee on Neptune. She only needed to find you. Grace pouted as she hugged her telescope and pulled it around the classroom. Well she did that for a few moments, before she decided on a spot. "You better be here" She told the planet, before she carefully made sure the telescope was pointed at the sky. Humming, she had a quick look at what the planet should look like before she began looking through her telescope.
No luck. Sighing, she twisted around a little, until she found it. "Yaaay. Finaallly" Not that it had taken that long. She was clearly warmed up now. Yaay. She was happy.

picking it up he walked by the professor on his way out. "Thank you Professor for a wonderful lessons and i'll see you next year" he smiled at him and started to make his way to his room.

Awww, the class was over. Lux had been having so much fun. Was Astronomy becoming her favourite subject at Hogwarts? Maybe. She was sad that this was the last lesson, because Professor Flamsteed always made things so interesting and fun even if his lectures gave her a headache.
Heading back over to her work station, she grabbed her bag and solar system before making her way over to Professor Flamsteed. "Thank you so much for the wonderful lessons this year. I had so much fun even though some of it is really hard. You are my favourite Professor, you so had better be here next Term." He would be... right? She wanted to see all of the Professors next year.
Smiling at the man, she walked out of the classroom. It was time for bed.

You may not hold the world in your hands, but you hold your own fate in them.
Way to get heavy on them there, Airey-face. Ella clapped for each of her classmates who received a prize, a little louder for Adi since he was one of her badgers. Yes, hers. In her old age she'd become particularly possessive. Even more so than usual which was saying something. The Head Girl pondered this while she packed up her things, careful to grab her Solar System last so that she could carry it out with her. Out...because she was leaving...oh gosh, this was her last Astronomy class.
Last class. Graduating...WIBBLE!
Shake it off, Bishop, no tears. Old age had made her more emotional too, y'know? And so the blonde badger might have had watery eyes as she made her way up to Flamsteed's desk, placing her solar system down carefully while she waited to see what he wanted. Oh, and while she was here, "Thank you for the lesson, Professor. It was fun." Tiring but fun. And no, she wasn't grumpy anymore. What had she been upset about again? Memory loss, that was pretty prevalent these days too. Also, Alec looked like a comfy place to lean against so Ella did just that, leaned her head against his arm. Hi.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Was class over already? Disappointed, Adi removed his eye from the telescope as Professor Airey began addressing the class. Oh he had on something? He hadn't really noticed he had been the first Hufflepuff to finish. Grinning at his fellow winners which included Sophie, he shuffled up to the Professor to collect his prizes. A book and sweets. Two of his favourite things! "Thank you, Professor,'' Adi said.
Before leaving the class, Adi put away everything that had to be put away. "Bye, Professor,'' he called as he left. "Brilliant classes this term.'' Yep. And he was looking forward to more awesome classes next term.

Once she had located the required planets, Brynn was done. Done with stargazing because a, it made her neck hurt and b, once she actually found something, it was just reminiscent of what she had seen before. She didn't get the point after a point. So she had sat back down at her desk, distractedly tapping her fingers while she contemplated her solar system masterpiece, waiting for the rest of the slowpokes to finish.
Huh?
Brynn looked up in surprise when her name was called. She was a winner of a competition? The redhead looked around in mild confusion because one, she didn't realize there had been a competition going on at all.. though she partially blamed the fact that she wasn't paying much attention at all today in favor of her drawing. And two, she certainly wasn't trying to do anything very quickly, just haphazardly looking for the planets they were supposed to. But it was cool at any rate.
Aww, she got a gift? Brynn collected her things and wandered up to the teacher's desk. The blue one was obviously for her and she opened it up, peering inside. Oh! She got a Nutella Neptune! The other stuff was great too, but it was what she had wanted all along. Beaming, she shuffled over to Flamsteed. "Thanks, Professor," she said as she reached her arms around him for a hug. "See ya." Time to go eat some planets.

Wait wait hold on people were saying thanks for the lesson and leaving. Was it over already? They hadn't done anything yet and she wasn't done showing Benjy the planets she'd been so rudely pointed out earlier. He'd want to see, he would. With some luck she'd managed to find Jupiter again and had shifted her pointing so it would end up there instead but all around her people were still packing up and just hsvdjfafedakjs!!
With a heavy sigh she cast a finite on her eyes, blinking a few times in the hopes of getting them to adjust with minimum pain. "Er....looks like we're not stargazing afterall?" She said to him.
She walked back to her desk to get her solar system and her things but stopped dead in her tracks. Winners got chocolate? Winners of WHAT? She didn't even know they were participating? This had to be the biggest rip off of her entire young Astronomy career!! Words needed to be had with the Professor.
They didn't even HAVE class, so winners didn't exist, see?

Ohh, she'd won something?! Hmm. Of course she'd WON. She was awesome, and that's just what awesome people did! They won. All the time. Like Sophie. She grinned and accepted her award. Opening the green colored box, she revealed a space book and some space-related chocolates.
"Ohh, chocolates!" she exclaimed. Then... Uh oh. Lex was in here. She should have kept that down to a dull roar. "Thanks, Professor!" The seventh years were getting something, too? Ohh! Sophie wondered if Flamsteed would notice if she went and stood in that line, too!
She'd do JUST THAT. Or not. She didn't think her poor body could walk the extra steps, so she'd just hear about the gifts or whatever from someone else later. She had CHOCOLATES, and Jupiter was looking really tasty right about now.

Her... last Astronomy class from Airey Flamsteed.
No crying. Alice Fischer did NOT cry over such trivial things (or at all, as far as the public knew). Nope.
Making her way over to the professor with the other seventh years, she stood at the back of the huddle and said nothing. Aireyhead didn't even get a thank you for his wonderful lesson. Her goal was to keep her eyes on her shoes and get out of here as fast as she could, because if there was anything that could make her feel the weight of graduation... well, it was this. Ouch.
