| Eagle Eye [⅓ Badger Trio] Felon & Kafka ♥ Gilderoy Lockhart <3 [TEAM 947!] WHOA. No lint roller?? Had Marcus Branxton stolen the lint roller? That was so rude. Good thing she didn't need it, though, but still.
O_O
Airey?
.....................................what?
Lottie squinted at the man the moment she saw him and... "Hey, Professor," her voice had never held so much concern over someone. Someone belonging to the Hogwarts' staff, that is. And, okay, she took the goggles and the lab coat and went to join her bestie at the table. Were they gonna make stars again? She was more concerned about the Botros wannabe at the front, truth be told. |

There was no lint roller, and Mo was SURE that it was a statement for him. Just for him. Somehow. He was also sure that people blamed him for its disappearance, especially with those sly looks Lottie was giving him. "Stop flirting with me, Wisteria," Mo muttered as he passed her, giving her a cheeky grin.
Now then... one fancy embroidered blue lab coat. With his name on it. Awesome! Mo slipped it on, grabbed goggles, and looked for a desk. Maybe... by Alice. Yes, Alice was safe. She wouldn't harass him about lint rollers.

Actually the beard he was sporting at the moment could rival good ole Merlin himself. Michael entered the Astronomy classroom one hand stroking his long fluffy beard and the index finger of his other hand was shoved in his ear, wiggling around. He was still having trouble hearing and he was sure it had to do with all this hair that was growing in there.
It was a good thing that the lint roller wasn't there because he probably would have forgotten to use it anyway. "Hello Professor." Michael grabbed his lab coat and goggles and went and found himself a seat.

Benny was aging very much as well. He sort of even looked older than the Puffer did.
Anyway... "I sure am. What about you?'' Adi looked back at the jars. The stuff printed on the label were from the periodic table; he knew that much. What did they stand for though? Hmmm...

Sarah bounced in as usual. No lint roller.. yay! Finally, the professor had come to his senses that perfection was not a good thing, if a messy house is a sign of a party, than linted clothes is a sign of you doing bigger and better things, like saving the world, and not having time to delint your clothes. People who delinted their clothes had too much time on their hands and obviously did not dream big.
Sarah took a double look look at the professor. Okay. This was going to be interesting. "HEllo Professor" she said, "I hope you are feeling better - did you like my card? In the end I had to settle with a simple drawing, my very busy time schedule does not allow for enough time for artistry.". She went to the cupboard and took out her coat and goggles. This personlised business was so cool. She looked around for a seat. Those jars... yay, chesmistry. The last time they made stars, what are they making now?

Beverly paused as she entered the Astronomy classroom. Something tugged at the back of her mind. She was supposed to... to do something. What that something was, she couldn't remember. Wasn't there a table -- no, no. She must be mistaking it.
With a shake of her head she moved deeper into the room, cursing her achy legs and feet. Professor Airey should really think about moving down to the dungeons. Sure it had no windows and part of it was under the Black Lake, but it'd make Beverly's life SO MUCH EASIER. She'd feed him cookies forever if he did.
The third year made a face at the seating arrangements. Stools. They were an old back's enemy. How was she supposed to lean to support herself? Aiiiahh! This man needed to be more considerate. Didn't his parents teach him hospitality etiquette? WOAH. She just sounded like her great grandmother. Oh crud. This was bad. Like, really really bad and she wanted a happy potion. Rubbing her forehead, she went to grab a lab coat and goggles.
Choosing a random table to sit in, her eyes flickered toward blackboard and... Professor Botros had a twin brother? What was he doing here, and where was Airey?
With shocking realization, Beverly let out a startled squeak when she realized this WAS Airey and he was... he was... so OLD. Blinking his way a few times, she managed to wave at him with a nervous grin, all the while attempting to mask her shock.
WHAT HAPPENED?

| Who Am I? Ern's 2460FUN He hated everything about this class down to the Professor and the old person smell he was giving off. Glitter Trousers needed to cool it or whatever was up with his face beyond the usual ugly. It was distracting and the sixth year wanted no part of it...or him. To be honest.
Ugh, he hated Astronomy.
Taking what he needed to...he ignored Flammy and sat down.
Old geezer.

Why had everyone made Airey Flamsteed sound like such a nightmare Cutty's first year? He'd been ditchin' out on Astronomy and almost gotten away with it, but the severe reprimands and threats of academic probation, not to mention the points scoreboard had brought him here today. He didn't hate the topic so much as dread the nightmare of an incompetent teacher.
How he hated incompetent teachers! O____O
Cutty entered the classroom slooooowly and for the first time ever. Seeing the other students, he mimicked their behaviour. It seemed Flamsteed was not the over-controlling type and let his students sit before class had officially begun. Yeah, he didn't seem that way at the dance either. He moved over to the enchanted closet and pulled out a lab coat in his house colours.
Oh, dear no...no.
This man not only knew he was coming, but also knew his name.
And not the abbreviated version, but his actual full name that had been called at the sorting hat ceremony. That the initial owl from Hogwarts and official school notifications were sent under. How? Why? Cutty put on the labcoat which clearly read: Cuthbert.
He reached for his goggles and then took a seat at one of the long hard wood tables and cushioned stools. A new found respect for Professor Flamsteed forming in his secretive little head as he tried to cover his name with his long white beard.
Yeaaah, those students in Cutty's first year didn't know what they were talking about.

Andrew paused as soon as he saw the set-up of the Astronomy Lab. Looks like they are going to have a super cool activity…maybe…do their own Big-Bang? The seventh year nodded and headed towards the cabinet to retrieve his lab coat and goggles.
And…Flamsteed?
Andrew stopped dead on his tracks with a slack jaw. How…why…? The Slytherin closed his mouth and regained his composure. “Good day…Professor.” He’s…still Flamsteed, right? Right. The seventh year took a few steps away from the professor and took a seat beside a fellow Slytherin whose name was Cuthbert.
Nods for you too young man.

If it hadn't been for the commotion in the common room just a few hours before, Rhodes would've, most likely, forgotten about the Astronomy lesson.
Not that she cared, of course. Lately she had taken a hating to almost everything, and Astronomy was just one of those things. What did they need to learn about stars for anyway? If the people who ran the castle, whoever they were, couldn't figure out a quicker way for the students to get from the Slytherin common room up to the Astronomy Tower, she doubted they would ever find a way to get people to land on a star, so what was the point in knowing about them?
It was all a bunch of useless information, in her opinion, but by the time she actually reached the room where the lesson was going to take place, she had forgotten all about that. "Hello.." What was the Professor's name again? "You." Rhodes jabbed her finger in the direction of the Professor man, so he knew she was talking to him before shuffling off to grab a lab coat and goggles and the seat next to Michael.
Oh. Michael. "Speak up, I can't hear you." If he even said anything.

| A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Astronomy. The positive thing about this lesson is that it is close by the common room. The negative was. Professor i-attack-first-years-but-don't-call-it-attacking teaches it. He was tiny bit surprised that the lesson was not being held in the classroom itself but in the lab. Perhaps they were going to make their own little big bang?
Slowly shuffling in to the lab he looked around first because this was the first time to actually see the room. Mweh , nothing special...just a bit blurry. Stupid old age thing , he wanted his perfect Eyesight back! And his perfect hair. And perfect skin! ugh.
He saw the students wearing lab coats and goggles and shuffled towards the closet, picking up his own. He did not say hello to the Professor however, because he was all the way to the front and it took a lot of energy to even get this far. So he put on the coat and waited. And no, he was not surprised nor did he care to see the old age of the man, because he had it as well and no one cared about him having it.

Oh. Michael. "Speak up, I can't hear you." If he even said anything. He didn't like these new chairs that Airey McFairy had put in the classroom. What was wrong with the old chairs? Not that he could remember what the old chairs were like.
Michael spent at least two minutes trying to put his lab coat on. Why couldn't these young people make lab coats like they used to? Huh? Was that so hard?
Oh look. Rhodes was sitting next to him. Where had she come from? "Whaaaaa?" He stuck his finger in his ear again and rotated it. This was starting to get annoying. "I didn't say anything you nit wit." If he could lift his arm he would have given her a poke.

As much as Bliss had missed Hogwarts and the people in it - even if they hadn't missed her - she certainly didn't miss the lessons. They took a lot of effort and motivation and right now, that is what she lacked. Especially now, as the shock of actually being back had worn off and she was just left with lessons and occasionally seeing the few friends she had. It was still much better than France, no doubt about that.
Wandering into the Astronomy classroom after climbing the stairs, Bliss greeted the Professor with a semi-cheery, "Good day, Professor," and then proceeded to take her lab coat and goggles out of the cabinet and slipped them on. She then sat down near Ella. Tick tock goes the clock, waiting for this torture to stop.

Pleasantries out of the way Ana walked towards the closet and grabbed the lab coat with her name on and the pair of goggles before walking to a seat near the front of the lab. She put her coat on, it looked quite nifty and sat down before really paying attention to the materials in front of her. Helium, Hydrogen and Iron, along with a large glass box. Experimentation! "Professor, are we going to be doing an experiment on Stellar Nucleosynthesis?" Ana questioned, somewhat excitedly, and hoping he would say that they were. It was the only reason Ana could think of that they'd be using helium, hydrogen and iron all together in the astrophysics lab. Plus it was obvious they were doing an experiment of some sort and that would totally be the coolest one.
As she waited for an answer Ana placed the goggles on her desk and her bag beside the stool she was sitting on. She could tell that this lesson was going to be so much fun. Blue eyes staring at the ceiling as if it were the most fascinating thing in the universe, the professor nearly missed the Slytherin's greeting because his bad ear was facing her. Well, he actually DID miss her asking how he was feeling, but he wouldn't have really had anything to say other than he was doing alright. Not stellar, but alright.
He glanced at the jars on the stations before looking back at Miss Constantinople. Wait...that didn't sound right in his head... Oh well. "You'll just have to wait and see," he said with a smirk. Quote:

"Hiya Professor," he said softly, coughing from the LONGGGGGG walk up to the astrophysics lab from the dungeons. Right, lab material and coats and stuff. UGH. Airey gave the Slytherin a polite nod of the head and was about to return the greeting when the boy began coughing. "Back in my day, Mr. Newell, we covered our mouths when we coughed."

But, the girl finally managed to give him a small smile. "Hello, professor."
... She dropped her bag near her seat before she walked to the closet, picked out her lab coat and a pair of goggles. Looked like this class was going to be super interesting, for sure. She put her coat on before walking back to her seat, placed her goggles on her seat and sat down. Okay. She was ready for class to begin. Using the lab meant also using goggles and lab coats. He got one of the coats and the yellow goggles with his name in it from the closet. Adi went over to greet old man Flamsteed. "Hello, Professor. How's old age treating you?'' Well, the man DID look old. The Puffer was curious about the hand behind his back but just offered the man a grin. Stare. Excuse you, Mr. Hufflepuff. His birthday may have been about a month ago, but that did NOT make him old. Nor did he appreciate having his appearance mocked like that...and then grinned at on top of it all.

What was with the lab coats and goggles. This was not potions or anything like that. Not questioning it further. Nigel grabbed his embroidered coat. Pretty cool and his goggles.
Now what were they going to be doing with Iron, Helium, and Hydrogen? "Good day, Mr. Barrington. Well fought match the other day," he said to the prefect as he entered. "Stellar aim." And strategy, but he ought not to say such a thing out loud. Quote:

Oh, look... the lab coats had their names embroidered onto them. The...WHAT? Might as well have told the man that he looked like an inferius...which was a DEAD body....which was probably the direction he was heading at an alarming rapid rate. So, thank you Miss Emmons, for reminding him of that sobering fact. He couldn't very well take points for that - because he knew some students would remind him that he had said similar things previously, so he just gave the Gryffindor a look. A LOOK. STARE!GLARE.

Now then... one fancy embroidered blue lab coat. With his name on it. Awesome! Mo slipped it on, grabbed goggles, and looked for a desk. Maybe... by Alice. Yes, Alice was safe. She wouldn't harass him about lint rollers. "Mr. Branxton, well played match. Had me on the edge of my seat," he nodded to the captain as he passed. It was a good thing that the lint roller wasn't there because he probably would have forgotten to use it anyway. "Hello Professor." Michael grabbed his lab coat and goggles and went and found himself a seat. Airey wasn't going to lie, he was a little jealous of Mr. Toussaint"s beard. He couldn't grow anything like that - although the grey stubble on his chin might be going somewhere since the man was too scared to attempt and shave.
"Hello, Mr.Toussaint," he greeted the boy, bad ear just so happening to be turned towards him. Quote:

Ugh, he hated Astronomy.
Taking what he needed to...he ignored Flammy and sat down.
Old geezer. Checking his sundial watch and noting the time, Airey decided to stretch his limbs a bit and walk towards the door to the laboratory to close it himself instead of using his wand. Mostly because he had forgotten where he had placed it.
Fist still clenched behind his back as he walked, passing by the Slytherin as he sat down and...that old man smell, Mr. Stark? Just got a bit worse in the form of a silent air biscuit. Quote:

He peeked outside the classroom for any stragglers and, seeing none, grunted as his upper body strength failed him while pulling the door shut. Giving it one more go, the door slowly swung closed and he turned to begin his hobble back towards the black board. "If all the chit chatting could please stop now, let us begin," he announced while he hobbled along. Hobble hobble hobble. "Today is going to be a bit more of a hands on lesson, hence why I am holding it in the Astrophysics Laboratory instead of the classroom. Please do not touch any of the material in front of you before I have instructed you to do so."
Finally back in front of the blackboard Airey leaned half of his body weight against it and then looked at the blurry shapes that he knew to be students despite his poor eyesight. Should have brought his glasses. Oh well.
“In your homework you were asked how long it took for the first stars to form after the Big Bang and your answers varied quite a bit from 400 million years to 200 million years to 155 million years to 30 million years,” he explained as he hobbled around and used his cane to support most of his body weight. “The truth of the matter is that the technology of today still limits us as humans in being able to both see and simulate these conditions. However, research at the National Space Centre in 2079 by muggle astronomer Royston Moore and his team indicates that perhaps the first stars formed as early as 27 billion years after the Big Bang.” OOC: studies relevant to us in 2014 lean towards the 30 million years. By the time our characters are studying this some 70 years later it is safe to assume that technology has advanced quite a bit and that there will be a more definite answer so pleeeeeeeease don’t take this answer as 100% real fact OOC. It is purely IC and just for us here on SS in good ol’ 2083!
He paused for a moment to let all of this sink in before continuing. “Eventually, an estimated 4.6 billion years ago, a very special star was formed. One that holds 99.8 percent of our solar system's mass, is the gravitational epicenter, and without it life would be impossible. The Sun.” This was mostly review for those taking their OWLs and NEWTs, so the astronomer did not linger on this for too long. “We know today, with special thanks to Copernicus, that we live in a heliocentric universe, but ancient people did not know this and believed that everything revolved around the Earth. These ancient people would look up at the night sky and eventually noticed 7 ‘wandering stars’. Can anyone guess me what these 7 wandering stars are?” OOC: CLASS HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED!
Have your character raise their hand and answer Professor Flamsteed's question or just take a stab at it. Creative and not correct answers still receive just as much participation credit as correct ones <3

From his wink Ana was going to assume that she wasn't far off the mark with her guess. Which would be so cool. Any experiment would be cool though. They should get to do more experiments in Astronomy. She was also happy to note that he didn't call her Miss Constantinople, although she did have to wonder if he'd heard her greeting or not. With how old he was looking one could never tell.
Ana listened intently to what Flamsteed was saying about the stars and their formations. It was mostly revision for her but interesting nonetheless. She didn't bother to write it down though as she already knew what was being said. She only really bothered to write down his question, putting her hand up as she did so. "The seven wandering stars are our Moon, the Sun and the planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. These may also be referred to as the seven planets of the ancients," Ana recited, as if by rote, as she scribbled the answer onto her parchment and lowered her hand.
Hopefully that was the answer that Professor Airey wanted.

Taking five points from him? Er. No thanks. The one time he decided to joke with a Professor...Adi shook his head. "That sounds like a bad idea, Professor,'' he said solemnly and apologetically. He managed a tiny, innocent grin. He had never lost Hufflepuff a point didn't intend to start now.
ooc: Sorry, Kath! My eyes were tricking me -_-
....................................
Adi raised his eyes from the jars as Professor Airey began to address the class. Their answers varied? Truthfully, he couldn't even remember what answer he had put for that homework question. His memory seemed fuzzled of late. Anyway...these seven wandering stars. The second year didn't have an idea what they were but the name offered a base to make an educated guess. He raised a hand. ''They're a group of stars that people on Earth thought moved. What I mean is that they seem to change location to the people.'' Was that correct? Or did it came close?

Laura looked around the room, she was normally quite alert and quite bouncy but lately all she wanted to do was nap and her hair well it was starting to turn grey which wasn't a good sign surely well anyway she had a question to answer.
Laura listened to the question, stars okay well the Professor wanted to know what stars were in Hollywood right? That is what she heard anyway though what it had to do with Astronomy she didn't know. She raised her hand and smiled. "Professor in Hollywood they do films like Men in Black, that stars Will Smith, he also did loads others like After Earth and Wild Wild West." Laura beamed. "Then there are films like Freaky Friday and Parent trap with Lindsey Lohan in." Laura was really good at these sort of stars. "You also have Sammi Hanratty, Selena Gomez, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Dylan and Cole Sprouse plus many more that I could name if you want." Laura beamed, next question please.

Wet mops?
Had Professor Airey said something to her about wet mops? And what did he mean by infusing the Groundskeeper with a wet mop? He wanted her to soak him with mop water or something? O.o "I don't think he'd like that, Sir!" Just saying.
As she fiddled with her goggles, the grey Head Girl noticed she had company. There was now a Tobias and a Bliss next to her and both got small smiles. It was nice to have friends around, especially so that if need be, they could be witnesses that she had nothing to do with the plotting of mopping Mr. Kirby.
And they were starting. Stars. She liked this subject very much, did he know? And she was straining a bit to hear what was being said but for the most part, she got it. The Sun and it holding 99.8 of the Solar System's mass which she originally thought was grass but that made NO sense at all. and yeah, notes were being taken.
Wandering stars? Ella could identify with the wandering part. She'd been doing that a lot lately, making her way down one corridor only to forget where she was going and having to turn around. It was terribly annoying, just saying. As for what the ancients were referring to, Ella raised her hand. "If she," the Snake girl, "is right about the planets, it makes sense that Jupiter would have been mistaken for a star because you can find it with your eye if you're looking carefully." Nodnod. "But Professor? Aren't stars more um...twinkly and less round looking than the planets?"

Ah....that homework. The one he did not do. Yeah that one. But he did just tell us the answer so no need to worry but it. Not that Nigel cared. To Nigel it did not really matter whether the earth was the middle of the solar system or is traveling around the sun. We would still go on about our lives regardless.
Wandering Stars...like muggle movies star that do more than one different movie. Probably not. Couldn't they just do Space puns or jokes. Those were fun. Like, When does an astronaut have lunch?
At Launch Time.
Oh it is so bad it is funny.

From the moment Oichi artived in class she was intrigued by the boxes on the desks but still went to yhe closet and put on her named astronomy jacket and took a seat. She then looked at the box and saw names names of elements that could be explosive if not treated with care which she knew they were. She wondered if a controlled explosion would be part of the lesson but as that train of thought entered her head the lesson began and soon the first question was asked and Oichi had an idea of an answer. She raised her hand, "Wandering stars, hmm, well most stars don't move but planets do and I've heard some planets are big enough to see with the naked eye at night so I'm guessing thats what they saw".

The Professor was asking the class what those 7 ancients stars were. Sander tried to remember whether he had read something about them somewhere. Then he heard one of the other students share an answer and that's when everything became familiar.
He raised his hand and gave his own answer, "Professor, unlike most stars that moved in a fixed formation, around the Earth, the seven wandering stars, or in this case, celestial bodies moved through the fixed stars in a wide band, called the zodiac. These bodies were actually the planets, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and of course the Sun and the Moon." Sander concluded his answer.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Natasha Shenoy Slytherin Fourth Year Hogwarts RPG Name: Andrea Bowen Gryffindor Fifth Year | SUMMER FOREVER As Delilah waited for class to begin, she couldn't help but stare at Airey some more. He looked older than Botros and that was saying something. She really did feel bad for him.
... Anyway. Note-taking had begun as Airey started to talk. Because as much as she liked the subject, it was rather confusing and notes always helped, yep. Wandering stars? Um. Delilah chewed on her lip for a moment. Yeah, she was pretty sure she'd read about this before.. The girl finally raised her hand and said, "... Aren't they supposed to be planets, professor? Not stars? And like Ella said, stars are more twinkly."

| A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Looking forward to the duel? This made Kevin grin but then laugh because the sight of two old looking people having a duel was just funny in his mind. When the man hobbled back to the front, the Gryffindor had to concentrate really hard in order to hear him. Maybe he should learn how to lip read? It would make things a lot easier.
Homework...there had been homework eeeh? So the kid had not made it but thankfully the man wasn't saying anything about it so he wasn't going to mention it either. At the first question, he leaned forward to catch it and held his head to the side to hear with his slightly better than his other ear. Stars ...seven... and then students were saying answers like the moon...
Completely puzzled, the young Gryffindor with gray hair listened around him and each time someone said something he got even more confused because not everyone was saying the right answer. They were all different...mweh guess he has to guess for himself. "PLANETS" he shouted "LIKE...MY CURRY...SERIOUSLY? WHAT KIND OF NAME IS THAT?" He glared towards the direction of a Hufflepuff who he had been listening to , trying to steal some answers you know because his answer sounded better than the others. "AND MARS...JUPITER....THINGIES YEAH"
uhuh. "TWINKLY PLANETS!"get a grip Hirase!
