Should your character do all this correctly, their planet should not be larger than their 'Sun'. Orbiting around the 'Sun' will not begin just yet either, but some short jagged counter-clockwise movements could happen.

Sophie turned her attention back to the scoop of iron she'd just collected. She added it then collected a second scoop. After it, too, was added to the mortar, Sophie began grinding the items into a powder.
That's when she heard the professor's loud cry of time slipping up on them. She glanced around and noticed that once again, she was moving at a slightly slower speed than the others. What was with her lately? She'd never been this slow!
She sighed to herself then looked up at the directions. Almost there!

Laura beamed as she saw the sun. "See it is perfect." Laura hoped so because if it wasn't then she wouldn't be doing the rest of this activity. "You worry to much my young friend." Laura smiled. "Anyway what next?" Laura had no idea but she just hoped her friend wouldn't do something like that again, she was hurting now.

She was dreaming of riding a dragon over Scotland when professor Airey's voice filled said dream and her forehead hit the table. Holly Chinese Fireballs! She'd fallen asleep. Like, actually fell asleep in class. How embarrassing! And her assignment? Was it okay? Did she drool all over it?
Inspecting the mortar and the now crushed ingredients, Beverly sighed with relief. It was safe. That could have been tragic. Whipping her wand out, she repeated the spell she had used for the sun.
"Fingere Elementi." Blink. Blink.
Nothing happened.
This was useless. She was exhausted and could barely focus. Why on Earth did she, Beverly Juniper Wayne, have to grow old so fast? Sure she wasn't the only one, but... Why her? She's done nothing wrong except torture tutors in her life.
Oh. Wait. She just realized it. She'd forgotten the jab. Hah. Oops.
"Fingere Elementi!" JAB.

Now he needed to preform the spell. He got all his ingredients set, he got the foliage, he got the small stone from the box, he got the two scoops of iron and added it to the mortar and he ground them. Now he needed to feel comfortable with this task.
He pointed his wand and then opened his glass box and said, "Fingere Elementi!" and then nothing happened. He gave it a quizzical look and closed his glass box. He think he might try it again....
He opened the box again and cleared his mind and felt more confident. He pointed his wand and said, "Fingere Elementi!" and then he saw the planet forming with all his ingredients. He saw it swirl into a circular planet. Now that was awesome!
He closed the box and smiled. The planet looked like his sun but it seemed smaller.

She was about to repeat the attack spell when the powders began to fuse together. It was a really cool thing, especially for one who lacked a bit of skill in Astronomy. Beverly watched as the tiny planet was made. Suddenly wanted to go ahead a create all of them. Too bad she only had ingredients for one.
Setting the newborn planet inside the jar, she watched it as it moved in jerky moves around the sun. Well, not perfect but it'd get there, no?
Twisting the lid on and closing it, she grinned a tiny bit at her sun and planet. She'd be seeing them later. And create more companions for them as well. She cast Scourgify on her work table and packed her things. She'd definitely be back tomorrow and add more things. Maybe moons?
"Bye, professor Airey," she said as she passed him by. He was still a great professor despite being super old. :3

Okay, so just a few more steps, and Sophie's job here was done. Which was a good thing after all, since class was over and the professor was just allowing them to finish it out of niceness alone. Or, maybe just because he, too, was getting old and gray, and it literally took him this long to get things done.
Anyway...
Sophie retrieved her wand and jabbed it forward. "Fingere Elementi!" she said. The planet formed, and within a few seconds, it was moving ever-so-slightly in somewhat jerky movements. She closed the lid on the glass box then began collecting her things.

Waving goodbye to students as they left, the professor waited until the last student had exited the laboratory before walking around and giving it a look over to make sure students had cleaned up appropriately and that all the lids were on their boxes shut tight. Even the tiniest bit of airflow could cause the Sun in the container to not create the gravitational pull necessary for students' planets to begin orbiting around it. And if that happened....er...they would have to completely start over.
Awkward.
Once everything received his stamp of approval, he walked out of the laboratory and locked the door behind him. His own Solar System? He had completely forgotten to create it. Oh well.
